I'm new to the ground cover game. I've never even attempted them before with the exception of some candytuft around a tree of mine.

I went to the garden center today and bought some. I'm going to put them around a tree in my backyard that has resisted all attempts of planting annuals around it.

Lucky me.....stubborn tree.

I bought....

Rock Cress

Anacyclus

and "something I don't know the name of"....see, Amid, you're not the only one with that in the garden.

Anyone care to share any tips about creeping perennials?

Are they creepy?

Gina, gina, gina....i just dug up a bunch of wild flower stuff that multiplied and could been used as ground cover. I don't know much about ground covers but want me to send you some? I could priority mail it and it would probably survive.

We have some ground covers that can be very creepy! The Lamium, Sweet Woodruff, Creeping Jenny, and Black-Leaved Clover, don't seem to know when (or where) to stop, and need an agressive trim from time to time.

We planted some Pachysandra under a Maple tree last fall, and I'm waiting to see how well it does this year.

I love Vinca, especially when it is in bloom.

I have pachysandra and it grows great.

My mom has ivy covering an area that I just adore also. She also has vinca but hers is not as aggressive as her ivy and my pachysandra.

They say Lilly of the Valley makes a great ground cover. Something I have been meaning to get for years.

This year I got some Sweet Woodruff from the plant swap and I'm hoping it takes over an entire area under the shrubs.
