I don't have my Lime green paint swatch yet either. But I have a huge bruise on my leg which will probably be the right shade of green in time for May 17. Got the bruise trying to maneuver through the maze of bags and boxes strewn all over the bedroom floor. At least one bag of "must haves" has followed me home every day. This is like Christmas!!

It is indeed like Christmas. No trip to the store without something for the cruise. Underwater camera here, batteries there, travel size toiletries somewhere esle!!!!

Welcome aboard Aburkie!!! We look forward to meeting your whole crew.

We're getting down to the wire now. Very hard to concentrate on anything but the Magic.

UK Angel - glad your flight worked out. We'll be on Deck 10, starboard side for the Sailaway Party and I promise to save two Mickey swatches for you.

We should have a few extra swatches if anyone needs one.

Quick trip to WalMart tonight for last minute things and I really think that's it.
See ya soon.............

UKAngel: Glad things worked out for the better! ;)

Only 16 days, yippee! I can't stand it!

This time tomorrow I will be getting off work to go to my dr's appt. and I will get another ultrasound. They told me to bring a VHS tape if I want it recorded. :p

We have the alien green mickey paint swatches, we probably will put our DIS Board names and actual names on them.

We (mostly my mom) made ourselves our own t-shirts. They aren't lime green though. ;)

ILDC best wishes for your ultrasound tomorrow. Will you find out if it's a Mickey or Minnie? When I had my 2 sons they didn't do ultrasounds. When my sister in law was expecting my niece they took a tape, and it was really neat to see her sucking her thumb, and she also had the hickups.

I haven't done any of the incidental shopping yet. Will have to do it this weekend. Seems like so much to do, so little time. Seems strange to be saying so little time when we've been waiting for so long to go.

Hi y'all,
I'm finally joining in, I've been enjoying all the posts. My husband and I are cruising with my daughter & husband, ("I Luv Disney Cruise"). I've gotten the alien green paint samples but what I want to know is what next? Do we put our names on them? How do we attatch them to our clothes or do we put them inside the lanyards? I'm finding it awfully hard to concentrate at work now. This is our 4th Disney Cruise and I'm still just as excited as if it were our first!! Sort of a "jump & down" excitement with a tickle in my stomach! :) Last year's cruise (Inaugural Western) was difficult because my husband had just had triple by-pass surgery three weeks before the cruise. He was OK but was very limited in his activities. Wasn't a real vacation for him. This year he's real excited & can hardly wait. He's feeling great! We are staying at the Radisson Fri. nignt. Will drive over from Clearwater that Am. Will probably arrive around 12:00 or
1:00. I've got my green lei from last year so I'll probably wear that for identification around pool, etc. I hope to see & meet you all that are staying there Fri. This is getting too long. So I'll go for now. Just 2 WEEKS AND 1 DAY, but who's really counting!!!

b&bdiscruisers: welcome to the thread! Glad you all can finally join in the activities - sorry we missed you on last year's cruise, but as I understand it, you weren't exactly "roughing it" in your room ;)

Anyway, hope to see you aboard at all the fun DIS-Board activities we have have planned... What were they again? Oh yeah, we haven't planned them yet!!!

Any takers for suggestions on farewell party and some other DIS-only meet? 7-aft is a good mtg place for the DIS-only meet - any suggestions on times or other locations?

I almost can't stand it!!!! I can't concentrate at work, my housework isn't done, I'm constantly checking the DISboards. I need to sleep through the next two weeks or I'm gonna explode with excitement!!!!!!!!

Stopping by Home Depot tomorrow for my paint swatches. Anyone need extras???????

We'll be at the Radisson around noon on Friday but are hoping to head over to the Kennedy Space Center for a few hours. We should be around the pool by 5 though. I'll look for the lime green lei!!!!

Well, gotta read the rest of today's posts and it's off to dream of cruisin!!!!!!!!!

We won't be at the Raddison until 6:30 or 7. get into orlando approx. 5 I think. Still better than flying down day of the cruise which is what we did last time.

I want to go on Friday! You guys are all making me jealous about being there on Friday. Because of work, poor ole me won't be there until Saturday. This work stuff is really getting in the way of my life. I guess if I keep reading and posting on the board while I'm at work, my boss will fire me and it won't be a problem after all!

Welcome to the boards everyone! This cruise is going to be so much fun. I just can't wait! My DS(8) can't wait either. He didn't want to go to school today, so I gave him the big pep talk..."only 2 more weeks of school until..."

Okay, two weeks from right now, we will be winging to Florida! The anticipation is almost too much to bear!!! We're getting the suitcases tonight (borrowing from very generous friends). Tomorrow I can start throwing things in, probably taking things out too!! I think we'll be packing much lighter this time. Ahh, experience!!!!

I dug out the lanyards, and I've got my lime green Mickey's. (I wonder if Home Depot knows what's going on?)

I've even lost 3 more pounds!!!! Who has time to eat with all this planning!!!!!

Okay, off to work. Not that I'll get much done. I just hope I don't get caught on the DISboards. I need a job to pay for the next one!!

I went to the doctors yesterday and had another ultrasound. The serving twin is doing great! Two weeks ago it measure 13mm and yesterday it measured 34mm and the heart is beating 170 beats per minute. I was able to take a VHS tape in and record the ultrasound and boy was I glad I did. That baby was moving up a storm. The arms and legs were kicking around a lot. It moved it's head too. My husband says we have a boxer in there. ;-) It is amazing how much the baby has formed.

The only bad or shall I say something to be cautious about is the other twin. It hasn't shrunk any and actually the gestational sac and amniotic fluid has grown at the same rate as the other baby. So, they are ordering a Level 2 Ultrasound (more detailed ultrasound done by some doctors in Tampa) to get a better look at what is going on. My doctor says he is looking at two options, one is let nature take its course or the other option is to aspirate (through a big needle) the fluid out of the sac of the twin that didn't make it. He is afraid that the twin that didn't make it could possibly cause problems with the surviving one. This is why he wanted to get another opinion from a doctor that has the capabilities to do Level 2 Ultrasounds.

Anyway, we are very excited about the baby that has survived! It is so touching to watch the baby on the video tape moving around. Of course, I cried! ;-)

Only 14 days till we leave for Port!

ILDC so glad to hear that everything is ok with your little one.

BunnyMom 3 lbs. congratulations. went to ww Wed. for monthly weigh in, and was up 1/2 lb. I am trying to be good for the next couple of weeks.....

Have put out my clothes across a spare bed today. God, do I really need all of it? I still keep thinking of things that I need.

Concerning work, the good thing about doing taxes for a living is that now I reap the benefits. I only have 1 more day to work, Monday next week. Then 8 weeks off. Then back to 1 or 2 days for the rest of the summer. Come fall it gets busy again teaching the classes for employees. But vacation would have come and gone by then.

I need another vacation booked soon so that I will still have something to look forward to when I get home. Maybe book again on board?

Welcome to the new cruisers who will be joining us. We will all have to make sure that we get together.

UKAngel, best wishes!!!! Can't wait to meet the "blushing" bride and groom. Don't forget to get a picture with Mickey and Minnie on formal night!!! They're adorable! and I'm sure you and the new "hubby" will be too!!!!!

Granna, don't worry about Preston!!! Once he sees the Oceaneer's place, he'll be hooked!!! I'm sure, less than an hour with "familiars" and he'll take off running with the couselors and his new friends.

Squiggle??? Which side is starboard??? (a true landlubber here, need help)

I got a nice blue shirt for the port. The lime green Mickey will stand out for sure!!!!

Baseball season starts in the morning. Ian is pitching, wish us luck. Go Yankees!!!!!!

I'm off to volunteer for the sign up of the city's park and recreation depts. summer camp. By volunteering, I am guaranteed to get my grandkids into the weeks they want to go. It fills up so quickly and because of budget cuts this year they are only taking about 2/3 of the kids they took last year. Sure we'll have some unhappy parents.
Have a great day all, and think, the Magic will only be leaving Port Canaveral 2 more times without us!!!

I was thinking everyone was packing so soon, but then I realized I only have this weekend and next weekend. Holy smokes! So, I'm going to try and pack my kids this weekend and my DH and I next weekend. I still feel there are things left to buy. Sort of like at Christmas, you never feel like you have it all done!!

Now I know my husband is getting really excited about this cruise! He noticed that I had a few clothes laying on guest room bed so he decided that this AM he needed to go through his clothes and lay out things on the bed also and take some to the laundry/dry cleaners!! All this with 2 weeks to go!!! Believe me, he's not normally like this--so much ahead of the game! Usually I have to keep reminding him that the time is getting closer & he usually replys with that he never takes him long to pack! He's now out running errands & looking for the mesh shower caddy that was mentioned on the "best tip idea" thread. Looked all through the mall last night with no luck. Any suggestions? Right now I've got to get busy & hem my pregnant daughter's new maternity pants & start getting all the cruise things I've been buying organized--it's a mess around here! My cruise back in January was sold out, at least until they started sending people home because of the Norwalk Virus. It wasn't too bad except for the pools and the kids clubs, both were very crowded. I was hoping that by booking so close to the end of the school year that the ship wouldn't be as crowded as it was in January, but I guess that everyone else had the same idea.

I believe there are still a few category 4 cabins available. A full ship shouldn't be much of a problem. 3 of my 4 previous cruises have been full or close to capacity. The pools do get crowded during the days at sea, but other than that, there is plenty of room on the ship.

Only 10 more days unil we leave!!!

According to the Disney Representative I spoke to an hour ago, the cruise is SOLD OUT. I was considering upgrading to a Category 4, so I know that that catgory is definitely not available. You're right about the ship not looking crowded, but as I said earlier the Kids Clubs and pools are crowded.

Help, I am having nightmares about packing. I am trying not to pack to much stuff but I am traveling with my husband, a 3 yr old and an infant. There is just so much I need to pack for the baby. Is it true that there is curbside check in at the port? I have no idea how we are going to manage all of our stuff. We have 3 good size pieces of luggage, 2 small carry-ons, a diaper bag and another bag. Along with the 2 kids and a stroller. Please help has anyone gone through this? If so what did you do. I can't wait to get on the boat so I can relax and not worry about my luggage. See you all very soon.

Don't sweat it. You'll be fine. I was on a Disney Cruise back in January. I was travelling with my 5 year old son along with a friend who was travelling with her 6 year old son and 5 year old daughter. I had 2 large suitcases, 2 large carry-ons and 1 small carry-on. My friend had 3 large suitcases, 3 large carry-ons and 3 backpacks. You would have thought we were going for a month rather than a week. It wasn't a major problem at the airports. One of us stayed with half the luggage, while the other one moved the luggage. After the large suitcases were checked, we only had to worry about the carry-ons. Don't count on curb-side service at the airports as security is very tight since 9/11. Some airlines allow it and some don't. If you are using Disney Transportation, some airlines move the luggage for you once you get to Orlando. When you get to the Cruise Terminal, you check your luggage at the curb.
For our May 17th cruise, we're using a Limo service in Orlando, and they will meet us at Baggage Claim. Needless to say, we will be packing much lighter this time. We had to fly home from St. Martin in January due to the Norwalk Virus, and it was a nightmare with all the bags. I doubt you'll have that problem and between you and your husband, you shouldn't have a problem.

Yes, there is curbside check-in at the Port. How are getting to the Port, with DCL transfers or are you booking a town car, or rental car?

If you have DCL transfers then DCL will handle all your luggage from the airport to the ship.

If you rented a car for the day you would have to return your rental and then take the shuttle bus to the Port. I am not sure if shuttle buses or even town cars for that matter are allowed to pull up to the curb anymore....the could, then they couldn't, not sure if they can again...I hope so or else we have to lug all our stuff from the parking lot to the curbside check-in.

Anyway....once at the curb of the terminal the porters will take all your bags and they will be delivered to your room. Just make sure you keep anything you will need with you in your carryon.

I am actually going to post a thread about the shuttle and town cars at the port and if they are allowed to pull right up to the terminal.

Mine go from 10, being the oldest, to the youngest of 5, a set of twins and Matt. Today I get to sit for 4 of them while my daughter in law goes to work. It's only a couple of hrs till my son gets home. By then I will be crazy. I love them all to pieces, but they really wear me out.

Single didgets ha? Can't believe it. It seems like a long, long time ago that I booked. My sister had actually booked last Feb., and I am tagging along.

UKANGEL we'll all be wishing you a happy wedding day. Of course it might be with that first cup of coffee!!!!! You will be in all our thoughts and prayers.
I did the St. John island tour 2 yrs. ago, and loved it. The only thing is that if you have any tendency toward motion sickness, take your Bonine. The ride on the ferry was quite choppy. I always make sure I take a pill if I'm on the water, or going on a bus. Was I glad that I did.
MJ thanks for the weather report. Warm sounds great. Can't believe we'll be leaving 1 week from tomorrow.
My youngest grandson was admitted to the hospital today, nothing serious I hope. Just has been vomitting and was badly dehidrated. I know my spelling is terrible. He's just turned 5 and didn't like the iv being put in him. If all my NEW friends could say a little prayer for him.
Well, better go make it look like I've accomplished something today.

GRANNA, If it is the 5 star Tour to St. John they don't include food. You can buy chips and stuff on the boat ride back. I believe they include punch and rum punch on the way back to ship. As far as breakfast my husband ate at Topsiders and brought food back to our room that morning for me and my daughter as that was way too early for me. I think this time I will order room service. We are also taking that excursion again. Going with friends that have never been on the cruise so I thought they should see how beautiful St. John/Trunk Bay is.

Don't think we have a leader. Just hoping to see everyone at the Sailaway Party - Deck 10, Starboard side (side nearest to terminal )
Sounds like there are quite a few of us on the St John Island tour too.
Everyone have a great day.

Hi Everyone-

I took my DD(5) to get her ears pierced today. She wanted to get them for the cruise. She is so excited. We just told her on Friday that we were going and she couldn't believe it. How much excitement can we take?!

Donnabres, glad your grandson is better. We had a terrible time with strep throat this winter. My son had it six times and was one more diagnosis away from having his tonsils taken out. Fortunately, we didn't have any more cases and summer's here, so we should be good to go. It is a very dangerous virus and I'm glad everything worked out.

Anyway, I should go iron, even if it is Mother's Day!

Guess I will still be asking question right up until Friday. DD asks if there are any restrictions on bringing your own kid innertube [small] or float devices. Which pool is best for 3 1/2 yr. olds not really swimming yet, but very brave!!

I have a feeling that DCL will not let you bring any personal water floats in the pools. I thought I had read that somewhere. They allow swimmies for the arms...but I think that might be it.

To be sure call DCL and check. No sense in packing one if you can't use it onboard....although you may be able to use it if you do a beach day in one of the ports.

ILDC- we have the HEAT on!!!!! It's May and we still have to turn it on sometimes. Can't wait for a little natural warmth. We have 1 nice day, then a couple lousy one's. Except for getting summer clothes ready for the cruise, I never put any on. The closest I got was putting on my Berkinstocks.

I will be looking for you all at the sailaway party. Granna, I love your Mickey ears, I should have "Nana Donna" put on mine. Maybe I will when we head to Disney after the cruise. I'll be wearing a lime green tank top with blue poka dots, and a small Mickey on the front. My sister also found hers. There's 11 mos. diffrerence in our ages, but our shirts will be the same. Last cruise, I had people who didn't even post coming up and saying hi, they recognized the shirts.

Well, have to get up to be at my sons at 6:30 a.m. to babysit. Have many Magical Dreams.

All of my family will be wearing white T-Shirts that have the ship on it. My mother and I made up some T-Shirts just for this cruise. It mentions the ports of call and the dates and has a picture of the ship on the back and a picture of steam boat willie mickey on the front. I will be wearing minnie ears that has different colors toul (pastel colors). I bought it at Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. It is very pretty. We will also have green lanyards on with the alien green mickey heads in them. Hope to see all of ya at the deck party. :jester:

I have a really nice one my husband bought me off ebay 2 yrs ago. It's Mickey at the Helm. Castmembers only. I have used it on 2 cruises and the little plastic holder at the end is ripping. Where can I get another plastic holder, or, another cheap lanyard and take the plastic thing off it?
Went to walmart this a.m. and their lanyards didn't have anything to put the key to our room in.

Thanks,

ToDisney
05-12-2003, 06:54 PM
Okay, don't laugh, but I need help filling out these docs... On the departure card, it asks about your resort stay (if you're continuing your resort stay)... so I put down the Hyatt (where we'll stay Saturday night before heading to OKW.. which I had to cross out, cuz I forgot about the 1 night at the Hyatt). BUT it wasn't part of any "package"... does that matter? THEN it asks about a 3rd party picking us up... well, I want to stay with the luggage and the kids while DH goes to get the car at the Raddison... so do I say yes, a 3rd party is picking us up and put down the Raddison's number? Do I fill out both these areas? For the Hyatt (continuing resort stay) and the Raddison (for 3rd party pick up)? You're laughing, aren't you? :o

Now I'm working on all that other "stuff" that makes the cruise more convenient, you know, that "stuff"! I'm not really sleeping well now, I guess too many things on my mind when my head hits the pillow. I got a new video camero a few months ago--I need to sit down & learn how to "really" work it with all it's "bells & whistles" before we leave!:( Hope I have enough time to do that too! Thanks for the info!

By the way, we have a pregnant traveller with us and she was wondering if you got a medical form to bring with you regarding your pregnancy? She hasn't gotten one and I reminded her to check. She isn't due until October, but I thought she should have one anyway.

Thanks again for the info and we'll see you soon!

SweetCaroline: They sent me a form in the mail because I called to let them know I was pregnant. They can fax you a copy of the form if you ask. You have to have a doctor fill it out to "certify" that you are pregnant and how far along you are. I would suggest calling DCL and having it faxed. I would hate for them to give her a hard time when she checks in.

We had a little scare this morning. I started spotting this morning which scared the you know what out of me. Of course I remembered them telling me that I might spot when ever the 2nd twin starts going away. So, I called the doctors this morning and they had me come in for a ultrasound and to see the doctor. It was the twin, she couldn't find the twin either! The surviving twin is doing great! He/She has grown and I saw the heart beating and it was moving up a storm. I will try to include a couple of pictures below. The doctor told me that I have nothing to worry about and that what had happened is normal and to go on the cruise and have a blast.

Well I can't figure out how to include the picture in this reply. :(

Just wanted to wish everyone safe travels. Got a call yesterday from Spirit Airlines wanting to know whether we would be willing to switch flights as they are overbooked for our flight. Told us we need to be at the airport 3 hours before the flight to guarantee getting on the airplane. Apparently, when they overbook, it's first come, first serve regardless of how far in advance you purchased your ticket. That means that someone who booked the flight yesterday can get on the plane if he gets to the airport before us. Once the plane fills up, you're out of luck regardless of whether you have a reservation or not. Since the flight leaves at 7:00 am, we'll have to be at the airport at 4:00 am. That should be interesting with 2 5 year olds and a six year old. It's going to be a long day. Have those Pina Coladas ready!

I LUV DISNEY CRUISE:
Glad to hear the doctor told you the baby is fine. It's always reassuring to see that heart beating and to see that baby getting bigger. I didn't spot when I lost my twin, it just went away quietly. A friend of mine who was pregnant shortly before me went to the doctor for a pregnancy test after going through artificial insemination. On her way home from the doctor's office, she started bleeding heavily. She figured that it was her period and that the insemination didn't take. A couple of hours later, she got a phone call from the doctor's office congratulating her that she was pregnant. She told them it wasn't possible because she had gotten her period on the way home. Well, she was pregnant, but she had lost a twin. The surviving twin was born seven months later with no problems. Enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry too much.

BunnyMom:
Are you on Spirit flight #311 at 7:00 am on Saturday? Call Spirit at 1-800-772-7117. Have your record locater # available because you'll need it. They offered my friend free round trip airfare to change flights. She thought about changing to a Friday afternoon flight, and called to check on hotel availability in Orlando for Friday night. When she called Spirit back, they already had people agreeing to change their flight plans, so they withdrew their offer. They told us there shouldn't be any problems and that 2 hours before the flight would be enough time. Look for us at the airport. I don't have our green Mickey's yet, but Atlantic City Airport isn't that big. We'll be two women traveling with 3 small children. The kids fathers may be with us at the airport, so don't let that throw you off. I'll probably be wearing black shorts with a red and white striped sweater.

So, I will be a little over 14 weeks on the 28th and when I go in for my level 2 ultrasound on June 17th I will be 17 weeks and they said we will know for sure by then, that is if the baby cooperates.

Disney1Fan2002... thanks Marie!! See you in about month, huh????

I'm just about done packing... sending the kids to school today for at least half a day. 12yoDS has testing and DH has a meeting. I'm off to "Muffins For Moms" at 9yoDS's school. (I hope they have Krispy Kreme donuts like they do for the dads. ;) )

Have a safe trip everyone!!

Hi everyone,

We're off today too. Meeting up with my sister and family about 11 for a 2 p.m. flight.

Granna, I hope your grandson is ok. I know how much we hurt when they do.

ToDisney, enjoy the muffins or donuts. If you don't get what you like, I'm sure you'll be able to find something you do in the next week.

Hope to see a lot of you tonight at the Raddison, and the rest tomorrow.

Have a SAFE trip everyone!!!!!
