My family and I would like to be able to see the island from our room as we are docking and throughout the day. Should we go for a porthole or starboard room? Thanks, Rich

I think you meant port (not porthole) in your post, but since the ship backs in mostly you would need a starboard room with a porthole or veranda to look out at Castaway Cay. This way you will also be able to see your room when you are on the island.

It is pronounded KEY but is spelled Castawy Cay.;)
We had a secret porthole room on the starboard side. These rooms are in the very front of the ship on deck #5. We could not see a whole lot of the island from our porthole. You could get a much better view around mid ship and AFT ship areas.

you can never promise anything because it depends on whether or not the captain backs into port or goes straight!

The Ship pulled straight in on our last trip.

One lucky shipful last Fall got to visit Castaway Cay twice. They pulled in one time and backed in the other time. So flip a coin...
