****THE NEW OFFICIAL PLAN*****
Ok, so we have some new plans once again. There are some down sides to it but it is mostly good. I am excited about it.

We have discussed every option and decided that it would be best for us to cancel the cruise It just was proving to be too stressing financially. So....we're back to doing just Orlando and a longer stay. Things won't go back to the original plan though because I have since found out that we would qualify for the free dining since Cole is 2. Since finding this out we have decided that even though we thought we'd never stay onsite or use ddp, this is just too good of a chance to try it. We also had to move our dates up soon in order to qualify. The official plan is: Arriving on Sept. 27 and staying through Oct. 7...10 nights plus free dining! We are booked in a new pirate themed room(the boys are loving this) at the Caribbean Beach resort. We have 6 day park tickets plus we will be doing dtd and MNSSHP one day, going to the beach one day-and hanging at the resort, and going to Sea World one day. Also, now that we are staying longer I am back to booking the boys on one of the pirate cruises! This is all good news for the countdown I just hope it won't be too hot or crowded then. Can anyone help me out with this??

I will need lots of advice/tips for staying onsite and the ddp since we have never done either. Looks like I have a lot more research and planning to do (ADR's). Let the fun begin!:thumbsup2

We had to miss last year and so as soon as we decided when we were going I wanted to start planning. I know, my dh says I need help. I want to start a pre trippie but I don't know if anyone would come along and help me make the time pass a little faster until then or not. I thought along with some plans I could share pics of current happenings and hopefully get to just chat and discuss disney dreaming with some friends who share my love of Disney. Before I officially start I'd like to see if anyone would be even interested in this thread. If you think you might like to just talk about Disney, going to Disney, kids, husbands and just life in general while waiting to go to Disney, drop me a message on here and if I get anyone interested at all then I will officially start. Thanks for at least listening to my rantings.:goodvibes

Ok, so here's the very rough draft of our plan.

Leave our house in central Illinois and start driving to WDW on Saturday Nov. 28th. We will stop in Georgia on this night to catch some sleep before heading out the next day and arriving in Orlando. We hope to be staying for 8 nights and are staying offsite at a Windsor Hills townhome. We have always stayed offsite and while I'd like to experience staying onsite sometime, I just can't imaginge being stuck in a hotel room after being spoiled with seperate bedrooms for the kids and us, a kitchen, washer/dryer and so on. We have never stayed at Windsor Hills before though and so we are excited about that.

We are finally going to do all 4 parks. The first time we took a family trip there we only did MK and Sea World (gotta get my dolphin fix). The second time we went to MK, AK and Sea World (that's the trip that's in my siggy). So this will be our first time at Epcot and DHS. We are very excited about that!! I am also thinking of which character dining to do as I'd like to do 1 or 2 and we've never done one of these either. I think probably chef mickeys for sure and maybe Ohana. Any opinions on this would be welcomed. Another possible first for us is that I am considering getting tickets to MVMCP which we have never done. This will be our first time to disney during all the christmas magic so it will be a trip of many firsts and that makes it all the more exciting.

OK, so on to the cast (if I haven't put you to sleep already, lol)

Me~ Tracy. I am a 27 yr. old stay at home mother of 3 wonderful boys. They, along with their father, are my whole world. I am a very lucky girl. I went to MK when I was 13 with my dad and 2 brothers an vowed to go back. We have since been twice as a family and even though my dh is still on the fence about disney I have easily converted my kids into disney freaks!

DH~ Jerry. He is 30 and loves all things cars. He is in autobody repair and painting for which he has his own shop behind our house. A few months ago he got a new job working on a pipeline 7 days a week, 3 hours from our house. He is also in the process of trying to get a job on the railroad.....he is a busy guy, lol. We've missed him a lot these last few months and can't wait for things to return to normal.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/892008-150-2-1.jpg

DS1~ Dylan. He is 10 but thinks he's 20,lol. He keeps us on our toes but has a big heart and a love for disney like his mommy. His favorite character is Jack Sparrow. He also likes Toy Story and all things Star Wars.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/12-29-2008102-1.jpg

DS2~ Blake. He will be 8 in about a week. He is an extremely sweet boy. Very calm and loveable yet a daredevil and loves coasters. He also shares my love for disney. His favorite character is now a toss-up between Wall-E and Stitch. He also loves POTC and all things Star Wars.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/12-29-2008103-1.jpg

DS3~ Cole. My baby boy. He is 20 months old and our little doll. He is a VERY good, VERY happy little boy. I already have him hooked on disney as well. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Tigger and Pooh and his favorite character still seems to be Pluto. He loved seeing the characters on our last trip and I can't wait to see his reaction this time.

Hi Kristen!!! So glad you found your way here. I will try not to bore you too much. I should be in bed also but alas I must stay up for a bit for some "mommy" time. My poor baby Cole is working on his 5th night of throwing up/not eating and today diarhea(?) We head back to the doctor in the morning to get him rechecked. It's been a crazy week. Talk to you soon.

Morning Tracy!!
I just read/look through your PTR, and you've got some GREAT pics on here!!:thumbsup2 Your boys are so photogenic!! And I just have to say, I love the pic of Coley asleep in bed with baby Pluto! How adorable is that?!:goodvibes

I hope that Cole is feeling beter soon!!! It's so hard with the older kids in school, the baby is the one that catches everything, I swear!! I keep saying the my Cole will never have a sick day from school since he'll have had it all by the time he's 5! Poor babies!!!! :guilty: Hope today is a good day for you and he's doing better, it's so scarey when they have the stomach virus!! Cole was hospitalized in Septemeber for a week for that because he was so dehydrated and I couldn't get him to keep anything down! He lost 2 lbs. in 2 days....it was scarey!! Especially when they are only 20 something lbs. to begin with. Praying he's doing okay.....:flower3:

Looking forward to hearing the rest of your plans....I've looked into Windsor Hills, can't wait to see what you think about it. I think when we go again we'll need to consider some place like that since we won't fit into a standard room anymore!!:sad1:

I'll ttys!!
Have a nice day!!!!

:flower3: It's been really quiet on this thread for awhile and I apologize if anyone is listening. I was trying to think of something to post and thought, "What the heck, I'll post pics of our Chicago trip that we took this last summer". It is something different so thought some might be interested, if not I'm sorry and feel free to just skip this post. As stated though, to keep me entertained until we leave for Disney I will probably discuss many different things on here not always relating to disney. Anyway, we went to Chicago (about a 4+ hour train ride for us) for our first time this summer. None of us had ever been nor had we or our kids been on a train so we thought it would be a lot of fun. (btw, I am now officially addicted to Chicago as well...love that city). My brother Jason had never been either and asked to tag along so you might see him in some pictures. I'll try to start out by just posting a few pics and see if anyone is interested at all before I go too crazy:thumbsup2

:cheer2: Even though I have been to Disneyworld 8 times each trip is unique because each child is of a differnt age and each group you go with is different.

I started in Sept. 2008 planning for Dec. 2009 and even booked the hotel in Nov. 2008 a whole year in advance - do you think I'm a bit anxious.

My upcoming trip this Dec. is for my best friends 60th birthday. She has never been to DW during the holidays and it is just the 2 of us, so this trip is different from all my others.

I have not told her any dertails of the trip except the dates & I am revealing the rest bit by bit in my version of the 12 Days of Christmas. My version is the "12 Months til Disney". First I made her a blank Mickey Ears clock wall hanging. On the 3rd of each of the 12 preceeding months before our departure I send my girlfriend a disney gift box that includes 1) a tag that reads "On the 12th month before Disney my best friend gave to me..." 2) a sticker for her Mickey ears clock that says what the gift that month is 3) the gift of the month.

Example: The 12th month til Disney was - 12 Disney Christmas Cards
The 10th month til Disney is - 10 Disney Dollars
The 9th month til Disney is - 9 Nights at the Beach Club
The 2nd month til Disney is - 2 tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party etc. etc. etc. each month until departure . Some months are gifts and other months are information about the trip. She gets excited each month to see what is coming because not knowing the details is part of the surprise.

Along with planning and executing the above I am now planning the fine details.

Now the fun starts I made a template itinerary that i use to plan my days this time 8 full days & 2 1/2 days

Without children & their dining preferences we can experiment with different restaurants in the world showcase like Le Cellier - the Biergarten, Crown & Roses, Brown Derby, Yak & Yeti, The Tusker House and the 50's Prime Time Cafe - Has any one tried these? Any opinions???

We can move to our own pace enjoy Holiday story tellers in each country etc etc. I am also planning to vist ICE at Gaylord Palms (I have never been to it - hope it is good.

I would love to hear planning details of others upcoming trips and also any ideas others have as far as visiting DW during the holidays.:cool1:

I'm so sorry, I am being a bad, bad hostess. Time always seems to get the best of me and the days slip away fast. We've just been busy with normal everyday things and Cole and I took a trip to the E.R. at 3:30 in the morning the other day because it sounded like he could barely breath. We found out he had croup. 2 steroid shots in the leg and a breathing treatment later we were home again an hour before I had to get up to get the older two ready and on the bus for school. Things are good again now with just the runny nose remaining. It has taken several days to get mostly back to our normal schedule. Don't you hate it that if one day gets messed up sleep wise it takes the little ones forever it seems to get back on track. ANYWAY, sorry to ramble just wanting to destress some more. Hope everyone is still good and that I might have a reader or two left. I know you're here Kristen and I really appreciate it. I am going to do an update very soon. The only computer time I've had lately is trying to narrow down which condo or townhouse we are going to choose...decisions, decisions. Also, there might be 2 people joining our vacation...my grandma and my aunt. That is still up in the air though. I will be back before too long with an actual update I promise.

Oh Tracy!!
I'm so sorry to hear about little Cole!!! :grouphug: I'm glad to hear he's doing better!!! I totally feel your pain...we haven't slept here through the night in 5 days....Cole threw up last Wednesday, spiked a fever of 103, came down with a cough, runny nose, etal Friday, got worse over the weekend. I had him at the dr. yesterday for the cough and fever, again, and he's got Bronchitis and an ear infection, as well. He's been off and on the nebulizer since Fall, and they said if he gets bronchitis again (which he did, this is his 4th time since Fall!!!!) he'd be put on a daily steriod for it. Thankfully, she wants to wait since his one lung sounded clear and it was just one that was acting up. SO I"m sending you BIG HUGS right now and hope baby Cole (and Mommy, too!) are hanging in there. OT, between all of our confusion with our Cole, Lucas has had two accidents at night so in between being up for him, we're up changing beds too, life is good! LOL!!:rotfl: Let's both hope for a better rest of the week!!

Can't wait to hear the rest of your plans...I'll be here!!!:cutie:
Take care of you!!

So sorry to hear of your Coley's bad luck as well. I will be praying for him to get well and for his mommy to be able to get sleep. Also hope that you have better luck with Lucas, gotta love the fun you can have with multiple children, it always seems to pile up all at once. We had another rough night last night...not with being sick, just with Coley not wanting to sleep for some reason...I guess still getting back to his schedule. So far, so good tonight...knock on wood. He fell asleep at a decent 9:30, not as good as usual but better than recently, so I hope we are on our way. Here's to us both being able to catch some decent z's.*

A small update.....

I think I have pretty much narrowed it down to where we are staying. Found a really great deal from an owner at Windsor Hills (www.vacationcentralflorida.com). The only problem I have with it is that in order to keep their prices so low they only rent from Saturday to Saturday and only 7 nights at a time. We are thinking we need to stay 8 nights in order to do all that we have planned so we would find a hotel for the first night we get to Orlando and then move on to the resort for the remaining 7. Anyway, it's only going to be about $525 with tax and all for this 3 bedroom condo.

second bedroom

and the boys' room
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/404-2.jpg

as I said we are not completely decided yet but about 85% I'd say.

I have also came up with a rough draft of our schedule

1st full day in Orlando: Animal Kingdom
2nd day: Magic Kingdom
3rd day: Dylan & Blake do pirate adventure cruise in morning and then free day at the resort.
4th day: Sea World
5th day: Epcot
6th day: DHS
7th day: DTD and MVMCP

all of these are subject to change as well depending on the final date we decide on being there (depending on where we stay) and what nights the MVMCP is on and the pirate cruise that we choose for the boys. We also plan on doing our first ever character meals this trip. I think we have decided on CP breakfast for our day at MK (Coley has become obsessed with My Friends Tigger and Pooh show) and Ohana for breakfast one day ( Dylan and Blake love Stitch and you also get to have Mickey and Pluto!)

Let me know what you guys think about all of this. I would love any input on any of it.

Hi Tracy!
I'm here...just tied down with the boys....all three have bronchitis and ear infections! We're having a fun week! LOL!!:rotfl: But the good news is, next week they'll all be healthy!! Trying to stay optomistic here....

Your plans sound great! I've looked into Windsor Hills a couple of times, can't wait to see what you think. When I've priced it out, it was still cheaper for us to stay on property in a value resort and not pay for a car, so we went that route. But the properties looked beautiful and I love the fact you all have your own space, pool, laundry..I'm SURE that that is where we'll stay next time now that Cole is getting bigger.

I can't wait to hear what Blake and Dylan think of the pirate adventure, too! It's something I have thought my boys would love..how cute and fun for them....AND, you get some downtime with just Cole, that's always nice, too!!

Hope that your boys are doing well and Coley is feeling better now?:confused3 Looking forward to hearing the rest!!! :goodvibes

Really hope all your boys are doing better now. I assume they are through watching your TR. Cole is fine (knock on wood)

We have always stayed off site but we drive down (because I'm a big chicken about flying) so we don't need to rent a car. I love the freedom of being able to come and go as we please and not standing in line for busses. We also go to different places like Sea World and the beach so we need a car. Plus, I could never stay at a hotel like room for that long especially after having stayed elsewhere. It is so nice for everyone to have space and to have the kitchen and washer/dryer is a lifesaver.

I really hope the boys will enjoy the pirate adv. I'm sure they will. I was a chicken about letting them do it cause I normally would never allow them to leave my sight while on vacation but one of my friends here on the dis let her boys do it and assured me it was safe and they loved it.

:welcome: CONGRATULATIONS!! That's so exciting. No need to put off Disney. I took a 6 month old remember and it was still great! I am so glad we decided to not wait on account of him being little. We just slowed the pace down some.

Thanks for saying HI! We are in Plymouth all the time--we're a bit addicted to Red Robin! We're only about 10ish mins from the bridge, on the Sandwich/Mashpee/M Mills line. I'm going to check out your TR!

Tracy, I wouldn't have a problem taking a six month old to Disney (easier than a 2 yr old for sure!), except our Disney fund is instead going towards an unexpected summer off of work for me fund, lol! That and I think it would be rough w/the baby AND a runner of a 2yr old. If he was older it wouldn't be so bad, but he's such a mover! So, we'll start rebuilding the Disney fund once I go back to work in the fall :).

LOOK, my countdown officially says 8 months til our trip. That doesn't sound quite as bad.

I promise I am coming to do an update soon.

I've been already getting things ready for Cole's 2nd bday:confused: My baby is getting way too big already. I know I still have 2 months to go until his party but I wanted to get a theme decided on so I could begin to locate things for it. Plus it's pretty obvious by this TR that I like to plan things and am impatient, lol. We have decided to go ahead and do My Friends Tigger and Pooh for the theme. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to piece things together for this. I am finding things here and there though so I think it will be just fine. We had to go with this as the theme since this show has become little man's obsession. He LOVES this show! He points to the t.v. countless times a day saying " Pooh, Pooh, Pooh" I'm really getting tired of watching the same episodes and wish they would put more on dvd, lol.

Anyway, maybe you guys can help me decide on an invite. A WONDERFUL fellow diser came up with some great choices for me. Here they are:

I was thinking the other day, my Cole turned 20 mos. and now I feel like I have to start saying he's almost 2...sniff, sniff!:sad1: Our babies are growing up...too fast!!!! OT-- We just bought Coley his big boy bed last night! I'm painting the furniture now and by the end of the month I'll have him in it. I can't believe I'm getting rid of the crib already, all three boys have slept in, where did the years go??

Hope you have a great day! ttys!

Hey Kristen!

Thanks for replying and for offering up the opinion. I like the saying on that one too. I think they are all adorable. Some people are so talented.

I can't believe he's going to be 2 either:sad2: It's funny that you made the comment about your Cole turning 20 months and having to say he's almost 2. When my Coley hit 20 months my bf and I had the same conversation. (she is the one that has a son born the same day as your Cole) At 18 months it sounds old enough but you just say 18 months or 1 1/2 but when they hit 20 months you feel like you have to start saying they are almost 2 because they are on the downhill slide to it. I'm still getting used to the fact that she keeps referring to them as toddlers instead of babies now :( I told her that in itself is just too sad.

About you moving him into a big boy bed. I just now am going through the same thing. My Coley baby hit 2 milestones at once and I feel like he went from my baby to my little boy over night. I had been trying to ween(?) him from nursing for quite awhile now and decided to just do it about a week and a half ago. Then I could officially move him out of the crib (which has been in our room) and into his toddler bed in Blake's and his room. I cut him off on a weekend that we were out of town for my hubby's work and when we got back home decided to try him in his bed. As of yesterday he has been in his bed for one week and not nursing since one week ago from last Thursday.

So what does your Cole's bed set look like? Even though I'm not fond of the idea the stuff is cute and he does look awfully sweet (and big :( ) laying in his bed. My Cole has the Disney Cars theme. His bed is the fire truck toddler bed (picked it up at a garage sale last summer:thumbsup2 ). Since he shares a room with Blake it is a 1/2 Cars themed room and 1/2 St. Louis Cardinals theme, lol. At least they are both red. Ok, I'm sorry for rambling on, I just happened to have a free moment (pooh is on t.v.) and wanted to jabber. Talk to ya soon.

Hi Tracy!

WOW, your Coley is all grown up now!!:sad1: He's weaned and in a big boy bed? Oh my, I'm so not ready for all of this!! Is Cole still doing great without nursing and is he staying in his bed? I'm always worried about that but my two oldest went into beds at 21 & 22 mos. and it worked, they never got out and it was too good to be true. I'm worried Cole will be tough cause he's been easy with everything else!! :rotfl:

I've been painting Todd's old nice heavy wood bedroom set navy, it's a dresser and a platform twin bed with drawers underneath. It's coming out SO cute, I thought the navy paint would update it enough and look nice and clean and be nice and new for Cole. I love it. His walls are painted a khaki color, his valances are navy with khaki buttons and his bedding is a train quilt. It's really cute, I got a FANTASTIC deal on it from Marshall's....it's a whole set: quilt, pillow sham, sheet set, throw pillow for $35! It's adorable and it was marked down twice for like $100+ from there!!! I can't wait to see it all set up.:cloud9: I"m pretty sure Cole is more ready than I am, every night he climbs into Lucas' bed and covers himself up with the blankets and cuddles in all cute. I just can't believe it's time....:sad2: They grow up way to fast!! Don't they?:confused3

I hope you're well and the boys are good, too! Have you decided on an invite yet for Coley's party? We just booked "Day out with Thomas" tickets for Cole's 2nd birthday. They sell out every time so we decided to get them now, it's for the week before his birthday (so he's still free, cause they charge for them when they are 2!;) ) And we'll just do a family party with my parents on his actual birthday, it will be nice. I'm with you, I plan way in advance, too, I think you have to with 3!

Okay, time for some quiet time, they are all asleep....it was a long day!! ttys!:goodvibes

I know it has been way too long. Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I have been busy in a whirlwind of planning trying to get everything figured out for our vacation. I've been trying to make deposits on the things that I can and so i have to make sure I have a final decision on what we are doing. We're good....all the boys have colds (again!), so ready for Spring to Sprung already! LOL!!:) We put together Coley's big boy room this weekend, he jumped right into bed and I cried...and then it was bedtime and he wasn't having it at all! Good thing we kept his crib up! LOL!!:lmao: Hoping I can convince him at some point this week to nap in his bed and we can go from there....how is your Cole doing with his big boy bed? I think it was easier with Lucas and Ethan cause they slept together in the same room, Cole is in his own so he's not so sure. Soon enough, soon enough....:cloud9:

Hope you and the boys are well, hope to catch up soon!! Have a nice day!!:wizard:

03-18-2009, 12:57 PM
Ok, I just had to change the title because so much has changed. For some reason right before I reserved our condo I started thinking about a disney cruise. I have thought about this many times of course but didn't want it to keep us from going to WDW. I was thinking what a bummer it was because in order to do the cruise we first have to get to Florida, which includes a lot more costs, time, etc. Then I thought, " well, we WILL already be there on vacation in Dec." so I started wondering how much more it would cost to just take a few days off the end of our vacation and add a 3 day cruise.

Turns out when I took the cost off from 3 nights at the resort, the food for those days and what we would have done those days, it would cost about $2000 extra. Normally this would have been impossible, BUT, with my hubbies new job it should work out fine! So, of course, I started the planning of adding that to our trip!!!!!!!!!

After I started researching the cruise I bacame worried that the water on the islands wouldn't be warm enough to swim in in December. I didn't want to go on a cruise to the bahamas and not be able to fully enjoy those gorgeous beaches of course. Which means I had a decision to make. Either go on the cruise or see Disney at christmas time. I have been very excited about seeing disney at christmas but the cruise idea thrilled me beyond belief. I decided that if we went in October we could be almost sure that the water would be nice and we could always go to MNSSHP instead of MVMCP. We have never been when it is decorated in it's fall motif either so maybe this would soften the blow and we could save the christmas trip for next time. The boys were thrilled with the idea of seeing the haunted parade and especially the 'zombies' so they didn't mind missing the christmas lights for it.

Now, the only part that is going to be hard is that the boys don't know about the cruise. I was going to just keep the fact that they will see the flying dutchman ship a secret (POTC is their favorite movie) but when I told them we were thinking of adding something really fun to our vacation, to my surprise, they immediately stopped me and told me to keep it a secret. So, that is what we are doing. I think it will be so much fun to surprise them with the cruise but it's going to drive me crazy keeping a lid on it until then.

SOOOO, here is our new official plan:
Leave home on Oct. 15th and begin the drive to Florida. We will stay over night in Georgia on the 15th and arrive in Orlando on the evening of the 16th.

The next morning(the 17th) we will have breakfast with Stitch at Ohana (first character meal ever!) and then go to Animal Kingdom.

On the 18th we will go to Epcot. (our first time here)

Oct. 19th will be b/f at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends and then Magic Kingdom day.

Oct. 20th we will go to DTD during the morning/afternoon, come back to resort and cookout on the grill and then head to MNSSHP that night

Oct. 21st will be Disney Hollywood Studios day (our first time here)
When we leave DHS we will head to Cape Canaveral, Fl and stay at the Raddison hotel that night. (they shuttle you to the port and let you leave your car parked at their hotel while you're on the cruise)

Oct. 22nd we will board the Disney Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct. 23rd is Nassau, Bahamas day and hopefully a dolphin encounter excursion!!!!!

Oct. 24th is Castaway Cay day and seeing the Flying Dutchman!!!!

Oct. 25th we arrive back at Port Canaveral and start heading home:sad1: We will stay overnight in Tennessee and arrive home the next night.

Sorry for the long report. It's just that so much has changed so I had a lot to update. For now our cruise is booked and deposit is paid. I hope to finish booking our townhouse today and then I just have to wait 3 months until I can reserve the character meals. Hey Kristen,

Glad to hear from you. Trust me, I know how sad it is. It really is unbelievable how fast they grow up :( My Cole will be 23 months old next Thursday :confused3 what happened to the time?! We have changed his party for the final time. I was tired of trying to piece things together for My Friend's Tigger and Pooh. Wanted to go with Cars but my bff who's little boy was born 2 days after your Cole wanted to do that one also. I decided to find something different then since we ended up doing the same theme last year(didn't plan it that way). I figure Cole will still like Cars next year and with the new movie the stuff will still be out. ANYWAY, we are doing his next favorite thing, dogs. The 'The Dog' bday stuff is really cute. I will post pics of the stuff soon. I'm finishing up on booking our condo today. I am making myself choose one to get it done. Then I can finally relax some. Will post pics of the final choice soon as well. Thanks for saying hi, sorry I rambled but you should know to expect that from me at this point, lol.

Ugh...I have been feeling so sad with Austin turning 1 on the 9th. I switched jobs when he was 6 months and I feel like I've missed out on so much the last 6 months with work. I am thinking long and hard about doing daycare once we move! I look at Jenny who will be 5 and wonder where the time went!

Dylan_&_Blake's_mom

I understand that completely. I did a daycare in my home for 5 years and loved being able to be home with my boys. I continued to do that until the day I had Cole and planned on going back to it after 5 weeks but hubby said I didn't have to so I decided to just be stay at home mommy. It is a good job to have though, it's nice to make money and still be able to be home with your kids. Good luck with it if you decide to do that. Spend as much time as you can with them, before you blink your eye your little man will be turning 2 :(

I'm coming over! Sorry but I don't know how to do that. I'm terrible about remembering things and not too tech savy either. Sorry I couldn't help. Things are good. Mailing off money to pay for resort today. Have to go look something up first though...just saw a commercial for disney that said they are giving you the dining plan free if you book a 5 night package..hmmmm. We've never done the dining plan but maybe it's worth looking into. Why do they do this to me:confused3

I did decide to check out the new deal disney has with the free dining but it just isn't going to work for us. First, we are a family of 5 not 4. Plus my stepsister has decided to join us so there is no way we could all fit in one of the hotel rooms at disney.

It just can't beat the deal I am getting of $510 for 5 nights at a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo with your own kitchen and washer/dryer~not to mention an awesome castle playground, great pool with water slide and so much more. I can't wait to get there. It just stinks that with the new changes we won't really have a free day to lounge around the resort. Oh well, I guess those are the sacrificies you have to make to go on a cruise! lol, yeah, I can't complain.

Pics of the condo we chose coming soon. I would post them already but since he hasn't gotten our money order yet he hasn't froze our dates yet. I'm afraid if I put up the pics someone else would love it too and beat me to booking our dates....does that sound too selfish:confused3 I hope not, I just worry about these things because it took me FOREVER to decide on a place.

Hi! Our vacation dates coincide. We are flying down Oct. 16th (our 10 year wedding anniversary), and flying back home Oct. 23rd. We are also planning on doing Epcot on the 18th! We are going to do MNSSHP that night.

We're staying off-site at a rental house. It was just over $1000 for 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and our own pool--not too shabby.

I am so anxious to solidify our itinerary. I am anxiously waiting for Southwest to post their October rates and schedules!

:welcome: Thanks for coming along. That's neat that we will be there the same time. Congrats on your anniversary. It will be my hubby and I's 12th anniversary 2 weeks after we get back. Which resort did u choose? Isn't it so much better than being in a hotel room? I'm not sure if that itenarary is going to stay the same or not. I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze it all in.

Ok, any suggestions would be appreciated. Trying to figure out how to squeeze all the stuff in now that we won't be in disney as long due to the cruise. I am pretty much counting on the boys (and us) really wanting more than 1 day at DHS because we have never been there and there is soooo much we want to do. We are movie people.

I have decided to go ahead and get a 5 day ticket since it's only $12 more for all of us together. I'm doing this so I can throw in another 1/2 day at DHS. My only dilema is where to put it in at.

In order to squeeze it in we will have to make one of our other parks a half day. I am guessing we will want a whole day at Epcot since we have never been there either and think it will be neat to show the boys all the different "countries". I was thinking of making AK a 1/2 day because we have seen it before and all we really want to do there is go to the dinosaur area again, the safari ride and EE. There is always plenty to do at MK so I'm pretty positive we will keep that a whole day. The only reason I would consider cutting it in 1/2 is because we are going to MNSSHP on another day and will get to explore the park again that night. I was thinking of doing MNSSHP another day so we would technically have 2 days at MK but should I just do MNSSHP on our MK day and bring our party stuff in the car?:confused3 If I did that we wouldn't have to cut any other park days in half. Or should I just do AK in 1/2 a day and then do MNSSHP that evening or go to DHS that afternoon. We have our downtown disney day to do one of them also (either the MNSSHP or DHS 1/2 day).

I hope I am making some sense and someone who has been to all parks, one of the special parties or just has better knowledge of all the parks will be able help me out.

Thanks for any input.:flower3:

Okay...I'll probably confuse you more..but here goes, feel free to ask any questions if I lose you!! LOL! You definately can do AK in a 1/2 day and especially since you haven't done DHS I would say a full day would be perfect for there, I personally don't think you need more than one full day there....what does everyone else think? You will definately want to do MK for AT LEAST one FULL day, plus MNSSHP one night (now, remember, you do not need a ticket that day if you decide to only do the party that day and you can enter at 4pm and stay all night-- this is what we did on MVMCP day, we went to DTD during the day, had a leisurely afternoon, went to Chef Mickey's for dinner then headed to the party that night and stayed until 11 p.m with all the boys! and it worked out great!!). I would say Epcot you could use more time at...depending on how you want to tour it...we did the World show case one day and the rest another 1/2 day....there are great KIDCOT stations your boys will love and a lot of interaction with CM's from the different countries, they can make masks and decorate them in each country, it's fun for them. The last 1/2 day you can play by ear and go where ever everyone wants to revisit....maybe do more time at MK or since the boys are older, do more at DHS? Does this help at all?? :confused3 Sorry if I made you even crazier!!! LOL!!

Dylan_&_Blake's_mom

Thanks Kristen for all your info. I didn't realize that on the day of the party you could get into MK at 4. I assumed you couldn't get in until time for the party at 7 so I will definately keep it for a seperate day than our original MK day. Glad to hear you agree that I could do AK in 1/2 a day. I had thought about leaving the extra park time open for whichever park we decide we need more time at whether that be DHS or some where else so I guess I will leave it at that. With only having 5 full days at disney and not being able to do 2 parks in one day (the park hopper option just adds too much money) it's just kind of crazy since we want to do DTD and MNSSHP. They will let you do one park the first 1/2 of the day and then use your MNSSHP ticket to get into MK that afternoon right? If so I guess I have come up with a plan on what to do, if by some miracle we decide we can stay one more night that would change everything and make it all much more doable. Until then though here is the plan:

Sat. MK day (is it crazy at MK on Sat. or ok for that time of year??)
Sun. Epcot day
Mon. DHS day
Tues. AK 1/2 day and MNSSHP
Weds. DTD and park of choice for 1/2 day.

How does that plan look? If we strike gold and do get to stay another night (not just a problem money wise but also another missed day of school for boys) then I will update this plan. Thanks again for your help Kristen. It's nice to hear from someone who has been to all 4 parks and a party. In addition, you have 3 boys like me and with our Cole's being the same age your opinion is extra nice. :flower3:

Ok, decided I'm going to go ahead and post pics of the condo we chose since he should be getting the money and freezing our dates by tomorrow. I am really excited about staying here. I love the colors blue and brown together and that's pretty much how this whole condo is decorated. It's not quite as homey feeling as some of the other places but I love the way it looks and we didn't want it to be too frumpyy...we want to feel spoiled after all, lol.

We went back and forth between condos and townhouses because they were real close to the same price. The town houses would have given us a splash pool but we probably never would have used it anyway. We thought about staying at the townhouse also because it would make us feel like we are getting more for our money (with it being a 2 story house) it also meant more for me to be paranoid about since I am a worry wart and a scaredy cat, lol. SOOOOO these are some of the reasons why we decided to just stay at a condo. We aren't going to be there a whole lot anyway.

This condo has a view of the lake from the lanai and is across from the back entrance to the pool so it is perfect.

Here is the living room

Hey Tracy!

Wow what a great place you got booked!!!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear what you think about it when you get home, I think it may be the way we'll have to go our next family trip...families of 5 are kind of squished in a typical hotel room, especially when the 'baby' is sleeping in a big boy bed!!!!;) I was looking into those places for our last trip and with the minivan rental, it wasn't cheaper for us....and Coley was still okay in the pack n'play at 17 mos. I agree, a place to spread out, to do wash, take a dip in the pool and to have your own place to sleep with DH and have down time once the boys are in bed sounds like more of a vacation to me than a box of a hotel room. :cutie:

Looking forward to the next update and I'll look over your plan of attack tomorrow morning....I read it and had some comments but now have to get the boys in the tubby!!

OK!! Love the condo pics!!! it looks gorgeous. What a fun surprise about the cruise! You plans sound great. We need as much time as possible at MK because DD will literally ride a lot of things 3-4 times. My tip for MNSSHP is to try and accomplish as many rides as you can from 4-7. Then you'll have from 7-midnight to do all the party things. We wasted too much party time riding rides. The only ride I must to during MNSSHP is HM. They take your pic in front and they have all these fun CMs dressed up like the characters in the ride walking around the line area.

You'll love a condo. We always rent one when we go to Branson that is on a golf course. It has an indoor and outdoor pool and plenty of room to play outside. Plus ours came with a washer/dryer. Huge benefit...since the 1st time we went we all ended up with the stomach flu. It also had a dishwasher. My hubby and daughter have touchy stomachs so its good for them to have some home cooked meals during vacation. I pray we all do ok with WDW. We have never been away this long before! I am ordering milk and pepto from Garden Grocer. So maybe I can coat their stomachs!!!

Yes, the condo is much easier/nicer for us. It's what we've done both the other times we went. It really helps to not have to pack as much because you can do laundry and you don't have to take home dirty clothes. It is also nice to have the kitchen. We haven't ever really cooked a meal at our condo before...just snacks, breakfast foods and drinks. This year though we plan on cooking out with their bbq grills at least one or 2 nights and I can't wait. The last 2 trips we stayed at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa so I'm anxious to see this new resort.

I think it is too. I can't wait to get there. Yeah, we got in 2 family trips to Disney first. We didn't even plan on doing the cruise this time. We said we would take one "someday" with no real plan of when that some day was. I am thrilled and excited that we added it to this trip.

~HOW WE ARE TELLING THE BOYS ABOUT THE CRUISE~
I really think the boys are going to be blown away and not expecting it at all. So far the plan is to tell them it is our last day in Disney (which isn't a lie, lol) and they will think we are leaving the next morning especially since we are packing up from the resort and staying at the Radisson hotel down by the port the night before our cruise. Then when they wake up or we wake them up I will give them both either just a letter that says "Surprise we are going on a Disney cruise TODAY!!" or a basket with goodies they will use at the beach and such and a letter saying something about "Where will you use all this stuff? How about on the Disney cruise we are going on TODAY!! I haven't figured it out for sure yet. Any ideas anyone??

The condo looks fantastic - love the giant chess board!

I think it's beautiful.

My oldest has played chess a few times and can't wait to try out that giant board.

Hi!!! I have been able to finally read your PTR-I'm sooooo excited for your trip, it sounds AMAZING!!!!!! The condo looks beautiful - wow. I would like to try staying off-site sometime, and hit some of the other attractions in the area, like Sea World. I can't wait to read your review of the resort.

Cole's birthday invites are adorable! I didn't read all the back-and-forth with your readers, so maybe you already shared, but did you decide on one?

I love the idea of surprising the boys with sand toys and a letter about the cruise. They are gonna FLIP! :yay::yay::yay:

Hi "mom" and everyone.

We just booked our first DCL cruise for our family (DW, DD 11, DD 9) getting on the Wonder for a 4 day right after "mom" gets off on the 25 of Oct. "Mom" your post is great.

We live 45 minutes from Chicago, and I work downtown everyday. Your pics from your Chicago trip showed that you hit all the important spots. Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry, etc. are all great spots. How about the Sears Tower or John Hancock observatories?

Your plans sound great. We have been to WDW many times over the last 15 years, and have never stayed on property. We stayed at Westgate as guests not owners a couple of times. I think I recognize the dolphin fountain from Westgate on Turkey Lake Road.?. We have also stayed at Windsor Hills 2 years ago. We had a 6 bedroom house with pool and spa for less than $200 a night. That is less than $100 per family during spring break. On Disney property try getting anything for less than $200 per night for a hotel room. Windsor is great. The kids loved the water slide, and we requested that Madagascar be played in the theatre one afternoon for our whole group to go and see. We felt like the President with our own theatre and popcorn.

Our plans for this October have us in Emerald Island in a 6 bedroom house to share with my parents and sister and her family (6 adults and 6 kids). We are driving also and will spend 4 days in Orlando (one hopper day with a DD b-day on the 22nd). Pool days the rest of the time before going to the port on Sunday the 25th.

More later including a great hint on how to get the countdown to go a little quicker.

I think your sand toy idea is really cute!! Even Disney themed beach gear....like bathing suits, towels, sunglasses from Disneyshopping.com? They have some cute ones on sale now!! My Dollar store has some cute Disney themed things ,maybe you can find something there? Very cute, they are giong to love it!! I can't wait for you to go and check it out for me!!! Maybe we'll follow your lead.....in a few years.....have you explored the kids clubs at all? Maybe you and DH will have some quiet time? Imagine that.......:cloud9:

Happy Easter Tracy! Hope you and your boys are well!!! Thinking of you!!:cutie:

:welcome:Thanks for joining and thanks for the comments.

You are lucky to be so close to Chicago. That was our first trip and although I was nervous about it I quickly became addicted to it. I really loved it and so did everyone else. Can't say enough about the food at the Cheesecake Factory and Giordano's:love: We packed a lot into that trip. The good part was though we found that, for our family anyway, most of the museums and such just weren't worth it. Now we know that the only place we will pay to see again is The Museum of Science and Industry. We are hoping to go back this summer for a shorter, 3 days or so, trip. We want to go back to the zoo, millenium park, The Museum of S&I, and to the Hancock observatory. Of course we plan on eating at our 2 favorites also. We did the Sears Tower last time so will do the Hancock this time. Our hotel was right next to the Hancock building.

Anyway, back to disney, I am definately for staying off site. Yes it was Westgate on Turkey Lake that we stayed at the first two years we went. We really enjoyed it but I think Windsor Hills is going to be even better and the best part is no stupid timeshare shpeal. I'll be anxious to see pics of where you are staying when you get back ( I guess that is if you are going to do a TR?).

Can't wait for the hint on how to make the countdown go fasterpopcorn::Do tell!

Hey Kristen! I think that is the idea I like best too. I did get some disney themed sand toys, stickers and such from our dollar tree store. I frequent there often, lol. I will have to go check out the sales on disneyshopping. I am there often as well. Blake already has a Wall-E beach towell and Cole has a Cars one so I don't think I'll buy new ones but I'm sure I'll find something. I can't wait to go either and hope I can provide a good review for you. I have thought about the kid stations and I think that Dylan and Blake would really enjoy a thing they do where they make Flubber. I will probably send them for that event only because they would really enjoy it and then they could participate in the "graduation" at the end where they get a free shirt and mickey ears with a grad cap:woohoo: I don't think we will be on our own though because Cole would go to a different area than the older boys and since he has never stayed with anyone other than grandma for an hour here and there I would feel comfortable with it and don't think he would go for it. If he would have been with his brothers it might have been a possibility.

Thank you for the Easter wishes and I hope you and yours have a great one as well. Talk to you soon.

Thanks for the words "mom". This will be our first cruise, and really the first time that we have had a big "countdown" to the trip. I am the most excited in the house, and am trying real hard to keep in under control. We started our countdown at about 240 days to go, and now we are at 192 days until we saddle up and hit the road.

I decided to let everyone pick one day during the countdown to have a pre-trip party. You get to pick food, location, decorations, and just be creative. For the kids one parent helps, and sets the budget at $10 for the party not including the food. I picked day 115 as that is my firefighter badge no. My wife picked her birthday as her party day. I am trying to get the kids to pick numbers under 75 to spread the parties out a little. I don't know, but it may just help.

I also try to envision what a specific day during the trip will look like. I ask the kids questions about things they may want to do. I have to remain flexible when the time comes, but it helps just talking about the trip before it is here. I almost like the anticipation better than the trip itself. It is much cheeper for sure.

Happy Easter Everyone.

Ok, so I said I'd get this done yesterday but it just didn't happen. I will post some Easter pics now but still don't have a whole lot of time so will have to be quick.

The Easter activities started with the boys' Easter parties at school. (they were on Thursday as they were off of school on Friday and Monday) Well, Dylan's class didn't have a party but he wanted me to make treats anyway.

Dylan requested cupcakes that were supposed to look like Easter baskets and Blake wanted peanut butter birds nests. Don't laugh but here they are:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/02-10-09488.jpg

Here is Blake after the egg hunt at school

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/02-10-09502.jpg

Then, the next thing we did was hit a couple of egg hunts in our area. These were on Saturday morning. The first one was way overcrowded and we got there right as Cole's group was going so he missed it :sad2: (dh was a little too slow getting out of bed...I blame him, lol) Anyway, Blake got a couple of eggs and so did Dylan. Then they had a firetruck set up for kids to climb in/on. Some of my pics didn't turn out but here's some from that egg hunt.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/02-11-09014.jpg

This one is a classic. Cole was really wanting to go see the Easter bunny so I got him in line for a pic. When I put him on his lap however, he decided he didn't want any part of it. Looks like I'm torturing the poor boy here but I snapped one quick pic
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/02-11-09011.jpg
LOL:rotfl2:Jerry (dh) did tell me afterwards when we were looking at the pic, to look at the bunnies face. It looks like he's about to eat Cole. I didn't realize it before though, poor baby, no wonder he was scared, lol.

Anyway, then we grabbed some hot dogs and drinks from this one and ate them on the way to the next egg hunt. This one was much better, a lot less crowded and more fun for the boys.
First, it was Cole's turn. His first time hunting Easter eggs (he wasn't walking yet last year and there was snow on the ground on Easter)They had one gold and one silver egg in each group for a special prize. Here he is getting the silver one.

picking days sounds like a good idea. I might have to try that one. I already planned on doing some disney days leading up to the trip. Thanks for the tip. I also love talking about things we will do with the kids. Anticipation really is a lot of fun

I just found out that we would qualify for the free dining thing if we stayed onsite. I didn't think it would work since we are a family of 5 not 4 but since Cole will be 2 he doesn't count on the ddp or in the room. This means we can get a room (their new pirate themed room:thumbsup2) at CBR and use a twin size air mattress for one of the boys and get the ddp for only $90 more than our normal plan. :banana:As long as I can change the dates for our cruise ok (since you have to book by an earlier date to get deal) and get our other resort deposit back(which he said wouldn't be a problem) then we will do it. :cool1: And then, I promise I won't change it anymore, lol.

Ok, so we have some new plans once again. There are some down sides to it but it is mostly good. I am excited about it.

We have discussed every option and decided that it would be best for us to cancel the cruise:sad1: It just was proving to be too stressing financially. So....we're back to doing just Orlando and a longer stay. Things won't go back to the original plan though because I have since found out that we would qualify for the free dining since Cole is 2:banana:. Since finding this out we have decided that even though we thought we'd never stay onsite or use ddp, this is just too good of a chance to try it. We also had to move our dates up soon in order to qualify. The official plan is: Arriving on Sept. 27 and staying through Oct. 7...10 nights plus free dining!:cool1: We are booked in a new pirate themed room(the boys are loving this) at the Caribbean Beach resort.

The new plans sound GREAT!!! Have you been in September before? We went in 07 with free dining and it was AWESOME!! We hardly waited for anything!!! To get free dining is awesome too. It's so nice to just go and not have to worry about the cost of everything while your on vacation. I think in a couple years I would like to book a trip to disney for 4 days and then do the disney cruise for 4 or 5 days. I think that would be so cool. -It would be tough now with the boys being so little - but I dunno really - I have never even been on a cruise!:confused3

I almost booked the Pirate Room at CBR but we LOVE Port Orleans and the boat to DTD from the hotel so we couldnt part!! But I want to hear all about it!

I LOVE the new plan, I think you're going to have a fantastic time!! Cool new pirate room, free DP, plus the beach and Sea world....it's going to be sooo nice!!!:cloud9: Now, where will Cole sleep? Do those rooms have a trundle bed? Or will you try and put him in a pack and play? :confused3 Exploring my options, too, for our next family trip (in at least 2 years....). Love that you're doing this now!!:yay: Btw, we were there in 9/07 (as PP was!) and it was hot, I won't kid you, but doable and we never waited for anything more than like 10 minutes, it was nice. It was our 1st family trip and we loved it, especially with the FD!!:dance3:

That sounds awesome!!!! Sorry about the cruise, but it sounds like it's going to be a great trip to replace it!!!

Yeah, no cruise is a bummer but it wasn't part of the original plan anyway and there is always next time:thumbsup2

We haven't ever been in Sept. I'm so glad to hear you had a great time in Sept with little waiting. Yeah, I hope to do the cruise in the next couple of years also. I can't wait to check out the pirate room. The only bummer is that my stepsister can no longer go with us if we stay here.

I love it also. I think it will be a lot more relaxing. I'm excited to see the pirate room and the boys will love it. They said that Cole doesn't count until he is 3 and that he could sleep in a pack-n-play. I told them though that we had a twin size air mattress and wanted to bring that for one of the boys to sleep on and they said that would be just fine. Glad to hear there is very little wait, I'm just a little worried about the heat. :confused3

Ok, here is the question of the day. I am a little concerned about the heat for our trip in late Sept./early Oct. We had planned on doing a day at Sea World, however, since it will be so warm I was wondering if we should try and do a disney waterpark instead:confused3 We can't do both ( I think it's kind of crazy that it will cost us $200 just to be able to go to a waterpark). They are about the same cost though. If anyone has an opinion I would love to hear it. We've never been this time of year and have never been to a disney waterpark.

I would think it would be nice to change it up a little- get away from the parks and do the waterpark for the day- or better yet- save your 200 and spend the day at your resort- pool!!!

This is a good idea and I will definately think about it. We do already have one day planned for the beach/our resort so I'm not sure I could justify sitting around the resort for another day, lol. I like to relax soe on vacation but I also feel like, we aren't here very often so do all we can. I woul say maybe we could save the money and add another park that day for the 1st half of the day and then relax at the resort the 2nd half but again I am worried about the heat..that's why I thought about the water park. Is the heat that bad that time of year? I keep seeing the average for Sept./Oct. is 85-90. THat's pretty darn warm. Sorry, I am just so worried will be hot and miserable touring the parks:confused3

It's pretty hot, Tracy. Let's just put it to you this way....I wore Cole in the baby bjorn the week we were there in '07 (he was 3 mos. old!) and when I too him off there was a big nasty sweat mark down the front of me...very attractive....lol!! There is SO much air conditioning down there in the parks with all the rides and attractions that we took complete advantage of it.:thumbsup2 Just a tip that worked great for us that trip (and this one, too!) we did our sit down meals at lunch time so it made us get off our feet for an hour+ and enjoy a nice leisurely lunch in the a/c to cool off and refresh ourselves.....plus, if Cole is still napping at that point, it was a nice time to fill his belly, put him back in the stroller and he'd sleep there for a good hour every day...worked like a charm!!!:goodvibes

too funny- Owen was 8 weeks when we went in Sept and Myles was 3 1/2- we would leave the parks around 2 and spend a few hours at the pool each day- it was the BEST!!! Then head back for dinner and to see the parks at night. It rained a bit for the first few days- but then it was really nice. We only had one or two days when the heat was HORRIBLE. That is probably why I do not like HS - :rotfl: It was miserable that day.

Sorry to hear about the cruise! BUT your new plans sound great! 10 days! :yay:

I can't give advice on the time of the year, but I think the change of pace to a waterpark would be REALLY fun. I've read they offer stuff for all ages too. $200 is a LOT of money for just a waterpark though...I wonder if they ever offer discounts for the waterparks...

Yuck, that doesn't sound like fun. I hope it won't be too bad. I guess the good news is I can focuse on mainly bringing short sleeve/sleeveless shirts and shorts for the trip. Thanks for the tip about lunch. That is a good idea. I'm not sure if I could do the big meal at lunch time though and a smaller one for supper but it is a good idea to get out of the heat for a little while longer. I am worried about Cole's napping on the trip. If he is still taking them, hopefully, then I don't know how it will work. Our last trip he was a baby and still breastfed so when it was nap time I stopped to nurse him then let him sleep in the stroller. It won't be that easy this time.

That is another good idea. Not sure if I'd be able to tear myself and everyone else away from the parks but if it is too warm I'm sure we will go for the break. HORRIBLE heat:eek:I don't like the sound of that, lol.

Thank you to everyone for the input about the waterparks. I have decided we will give it a try. I think the boys would LOVE it. I did find out that you can get tickets for it seperately or at the gate so I think that is what I'll do when I find out more about the weather.

I have come up with a general idea of what parks we will tour on which days. I'm sure it will change some (or a lot:rolleyes1) but ya have to start somewhere right?! I'd love to hear what you think.

Sunday, Sept. 27th~arrive in Orlando around 5 or 6 p.m. Check in, grab a bite to eat and unpack. Baths and bed at a good time to be ready to start our journey in the morning.

Monday, Sept. 28th~Magic Kingdom day (I don't think you can start a disney vacation without seeing the castle first). We will do our first charater breakfast at Crystal Palace this morning and hopefully get to see the park pretty empty.

Tuesday, Sept. 29th~ Have a smaller breakfast in our room of muffins/donuts/juice, etc. Dylan and Blake will do their pirate cruise (surprise) at 9:30 from our resort. I'm not real sure what Jerry, Cole and I will do at this time. Then we will pack up when they return (about 11:30) and head to the beach. We will probably grab something to eat on the way there. Spend a few hours at the beach (takes an hour to get there) and come back to the resort about 5:30. Eat supper at resort and just relax at the resort.

Wednesday, Sept.30th~Ohana for breakfast and then Animal Kingdom. We probably won't stay here the whole day. Possibly tour some of the other resorts in the afternoon(since we never have) stopping somewhere for supper.

Thursday, Oct. 1st~Disney Hollywood Studios day (our first time):woohoo:

Friday, Oct. 2nd~Epcot day (our first time):thumbsup2

Saturday, Oct.3rd~ Blizzard Beach day (weather permitting) Is it crazy to do this on a Saturday or ok since it is the slower time of year??

Sunday, Oct.4th~ probably DHS again (maybe resort pool in afternoon)

Monday, Oct.5th~ I am hoping to do a resort family photo shoot (probably GF) this morning. Then, probably Epcot again or whichever park we want to see more of. (maybe resort pool in afternoon)

Tuesday, Oct. 6th~Downtown Disney for first part of the day. I like to do this at the end of the trip because it seems like if you passed something up at the parks for a souvenire you can generally find it here if you decided you want it. Then we will head back to MK around 4:00 for MNSSHP to finish off our last night in disney:sad:

Now I need to work on food. If anyone has advice on this it would be appreciated. It will be tough mainly because I am a pretty picky eater. It will probably have to be mainly american food places. As long as they have good steak or bbq ribs though (and kids chicken for Blake, who is picky also) then it will be fine.

Your plans look really great! Smart idea on resting the first day, and I love that you saved MNSSHP until the very end-a perfect way to wrap up your trip!

Ohana is AWESOME. So so yummy. We also enjoyed Whispering Canyon Cafe, Wolfgang Pucks Express is a great value CS with a lot of choices and good food!, Earl of Sandwich is yummy, I've read that the steak at Coral Reef is amazing (some rate it better than LeCellier), I've read that Chef Mickey's has a great breakfast, but we wen't overly fond of the dinner (but the characters made up for that!), Kona always seems to great great reviews too. We really liked The Wave on our last trip, and it's just down the monorail from MK - a nice little side trip from the park. YUMMY cheeseburgers! Sci-Fi also gets great reviews on their cheeseburgers and shakes. 50s was a lot of fun, and good food too! And Brown Derby always seems very popular.

Those are my "we enjoyed" and "I really want to try" places - I cannot recall the menus from all of them, so not sure about the chicken...but most have pretty normal menus!

Making ADRs is always so fun, but a lot of work! I'm always worried about it being a big flop. I can't wait to read about your choices!

The new plan sounds great! I'm sure the boys will have a blast. I was going to suggest the Sci-Fi for one of your meals too b/c I bet the boys will love it. That's one of DD's fave memories of our trip when she was 3! The food is just okay, fine for burgers/shakes, but the atmosphere is great, esp when you're a kid!

Thanks everyone for commenting. I don't have any real updates I just have another question. I'm trying to prepare for when they release the park hours in case I don't have much time in between then and my 90 day mark. Since this will be our first time onsite I'm trying to decide whether or not to take advantage of the EMH. I think it would be neat and a waste not to but I'm worried about the crowds. I've always heard that it is more crowded on EMH days but do I need to worry about this too much at the end of Sept./beginning of Oct. since it's not supposed to be that busy then? Please help me decide how we should plan based on the EMH. THanks:flower3:

Your ADRs look really great! Your kids will love Chef Mickey's - it's really fun!!! So many things for the first time, I bet you are just PUMPED!

We did NOT enjoy the Electric Umbrella. It wasn't bad, but there are some awesome choices in Epcot, so I felt like it was such a waste to eat here. The American Pavillion also has burgers and fries, which I've heard are much better. Sunshine Seasons (located in The Land, near Soarin') gets really great reviews and has a lot of options.

The one perk of Electric Umbrella is free refills! :thumbsup2

EMH does make the park noticably busier. I cannot recall-do you have Hoppers? You could take advantage of the EMH only during the EMH time and then hop to a different park without EMH.

If you don't have hoppers, I would probably say avoid MK on EMH and nights with Spectro, and avoid DHS on nights with Fantasmic, those things truly make the park much busier. Unless of course these are "must do's" on your list, then they are worth fighting the crowds for! :goodvibes

If you have AK EMH, take advantage. That park is really neat in the dark, and if you are into thrill rides (I can't recall, sorry!) EE at night is INTENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Kristen,

I am a picture NUT so I always think pictures are a good idea, lol. I am going to call today and try and get the prices because they have gone up considerably from what I hear so I want to get it straight. I'll let you know.

Thanks Tracy, I appreciate it. Is it included in the photopass if you prebuy? Any idea how far in advance you need to book? Thinking this may be a nice option for my Mom's birthday as another surprise, you know? Hope you're well!!:goodvibes

You make ressies 1 month in advance. I think the photos get put on your cd, but the shoot is another $74.99. Someone correct me if I am wrong. We pre-ordered when they were still doing the photo session for $25

:scared1:

Thanks for all of the great advice. I am very pumped about all of the new things we are doing this trip it makes the trip even more special.

I will definately take note of what you said about Electric Umbrella. The only reason we were thinking of going there is because it had the american choices and we have never been to this park so we don't know much about it. We will try the American Pavillion and Sunshine Seasons.

We do not have the park hopper option. I think we will probably avoid the EMH days I was just hoping since it was the slower time of year it wouldn't matter as much. We can do without seeing spectro again so that's not a big deal. We do however have Fantasmic on our 'must see' list. Since we are going to this park on 2 different days though we should have plenty of time to see what we want.

AK is actually the only park we don't even plan on spending a whole day at. We have been there before and stayed the whole day so we have seen it at night before. It is a neat park but it just doesn't interest us as much. We do love EE though and we want to do the safari again as well as all things dinosaur so that is why we are going back. Thanks again for the tips. I REALLY appreciate it.

Cosmic Rays & Pecos Bills are great!!! those are our favorite CS
Monday is the best day to start the morning at MK because sunday is the Emh at MK so it will not get busy till after 12pm there, so get there at rope drop and enjoy the empty park..

We have eaten at Cosmic Rays the last couple of times we've been to MK so we know we enjoy their food. It looked like Pecos Bill's would be good also so we figured we'd give it a try. I'm very glad to hear that you think highly of it.

Thanks for the advice about MK. It's good to know that Monday is a good day for that park. We can't wait to see the park empty after our breakfast at CP.

as bertegirl said I have found out that they have tripled the price of the shoot:confused3. Why they have increased it by 300% is beyond me. I do still believe we will do it though because I am such a nut about pictures and we always need family shots. What a beautiful place to get them taken at. I am calling tomorrow to find out all I can about it.

Thanks for that info. I have been busy checking into it. I'm calling again tomorrow to learn some more. I can't believe they increased the cost by so much. That just seems crazy. I wish we could've gotten it done when it was the $25 still. :sad2:

I was told that the photo shoot was 99.00! I have it booked for at 5:30 at the GF before our ressies at 6:30 at narcoosees but I keep debating on if we are going to do it or not. I think I will wait until that day to see how the kids are. They may just NOT be in the mood to have their picture after their first full day in the park!

I think it is $99 if you haven't preordered the photopass cd and $75 if you have.

That is a good idea, you never know with little ones. I'm crossing my fingers that Cole will cooperate for it. Right now he will take a picture if Jerry or I are holding him but he's not about to let us set him down and then stay for a pic. I am hoping this changes by then because I really want some of just the boys and some single ones of them.

I hear you! We went to the picture people and I got the boys up and dressed for a 9:00 appointment (Which was a feat in itself) and I plop them down for their picture and Owen took one look at the photographer and started screaming. He was done... there was NO way she was getting a picture of him. So we left. No xmas picture for us. LOL

lol, that sounds like our most recent experience. I was trying to get the boys' picture done in the vintage style, where they provide the clothes and props..I love those photos. We had gotten one done about a year ago and it is my favorite of the 3 of them. Anyway, we went to do it this time and they were all in a good mood...until I set Cole down and he saw the photographer. He cried and ran to me or clung to me with a death grip every time I tried. I attempted it a couple of times and then realized it was NOT going to happen. I am making an appt. to get his 2 year pics done some time this week. I am desperately hoping he will cooperate for at least 1 or 2 shots but not holding my breath, lol.

p.s. would you mind shooting me your address (in a pm) so I can at least send you a thank you card for the kleenex's? I haven't got them yet but I can't wait. I told Jerry I was getting kleenex packs sent to me by a friend on the dis and you should've seen the crazy look I got.:rotfl: He just doesn't understand the world of the 'dis'. Oh well.

I think Cole will be good for his 2 year photo's. I remember with Myles he did the same thing when he was 1 1/2- I actually have the picture because it was a big picture with all the cousins and Myles is balling his eyes out- its kind of cute though. With Owen I just decided to leave... the lady kept putting the feather duster thing in his face and he was not having it!

I just got a package in the mail today from the package of kleenex I sent to Wendy and it said "no contents- return to sender" Somehow the package opened in the mail and the cars Kleenex's are somewhere between here and where Wendy lives!! I hope yours make it to you ok. let me know- and no thank you card is needed at all!!! You are very welcome.

My husband is pretty great with this stuff and even he gave me  when I said I was sending them out!

Let me first apologize for being a bad hostess again. It seems as though life keeps getting in the way of my dis time, lol. Things have been crazy around here as they always are at this time of year. We had to plan and have Cole's bday. We are planning Dylan's bday the 13th of next month, we are doing field trips and all the other end of the year type things at the boys' schools. I will try to get some of Cole's bday pics up now though and will work on the rest soon..I promise.

In case you didn't know, the theme for Cole's bday was 'The Dog'. I wanted to do Cars (since this is his favorite thing in the world right now) but my best friend who's little boy will be 2 next month wanted to do that also and she didn't want them to have the same theme. Soooo, I decided to go with 'The Dog' because he loves dogs so much too. I'm sure he will still be into Cars for next year.

We held it at the park shelter house one block from our house.

The dessert table:

some dog bone sugar cookies and puppy chow I made and put into dog bowls to serve. The hershey kisses have stickers on the bottom that say Cole's 2nd birthday with a picture of a dog. (don't mind the red cups..I know they don't match but we had forgot to get them)

Thanks. I know, he is getting too tall. He is like Dylan that way. Dylan was always in the 95th-100th percentile for height for his age and so is Cole. Then I have Blake who is little bitty, lol.

They were pretty good I hear. I didn't eat any though. It might be weird but neither one of my brothers or I will eat my mom's icing anymore. She used to decorate cakes for a living while we were growing up and so we used to eat a LOT of it. Now we are all sick of it,lol.

I know:guilty: I really didn't like it at first and I figured out that is why I didn't like it. My friend Krista and I were saying that with that haircut and his height he looks like a little boy who was turning 3, not 2:confused3 The girl who cut his hair got it a little crooked this time and I was so tired of it always standing up in the back so I just wanted to trim it some. Unfortunately I was standing above him while I did it and so while it looked great from that angle, I was really bummed when I saw him head on. I do have to say it is growing on me though. It also helps that the 2 little boys who live across the street, who are the same age as him, also got a buz cut.

Anyway, I am working on putting the rest up now.

Then it was time for the BIG present from Mommy and Daddy. Each of the boys got a big present for their birthdays this year. Jerry was working on a pipeline last fall and making quite a bit so we wanted to spoil them once. This was huge to them because normally they would never get anything this big even for christmas. Anyway, Dylan and Blake both got Nentendo DS's and Cole got.....

It is still soo cute though to see how happy he is every time he gets in his power wheel. He also loves for Blake to drive him when we go on our walks (because he figured out the gas and changing gears right away but not the stearing yet, lol)

Sorry that was so long. I will post an update on the trip soon I hope. Thanks to those who have stuck with me.

He did have a wonderful time and got a lot of neat presents. The fold n'go garage is from Tonka. It goes with those mini wheel pals. I'm not sure if you are familiar with them or not but they have them at Walmart, Kmart and Target to name a few. There are big ones and mini ones. Cole has a lot of each. I love them and so does he. Unfortunately he hasn't really played with the garage yet. My brother and his wife got it for him. I am hoping that as he gets a little bit older he will be more interested in it.

All is well here, just busy. How are things for you? I'm sure you are busy too. Any plans for your Coley's bday yet? It is crazy that my baby is 2:confused3 I always forget about it until someone asks how old he is, it is so sad to say he is 2.

WOW! What a great party! I have been thinking a "cars and trucks" theme for Henry's 2nd b-day too, but dogs are a close second. I love the colors and the cupcakes and cake are amazing.

I can't believe how big Cole is. I remember those sweet rolls from your last TR, and now he's a little boy! Same thing with my Henry though.

Sigh.

No prob on the advice I gave earlier - I hope it helps! Sunshine Seasons has lots of American choices - the chicken I've read is REALLY good.

Thanks, I also LOVE the colors. That was one of the selling points to me. Boys and Cars go hand in hand.

I know, I can't believe how big he is either. I don't know what happened to my little butterball:confused3

I will have to check out the chicken at Sunshine Seasons.

Just wanted to throw in a little side note

Looks like next year we will be taking a 2 week road trip for vacation. We will be driving out to visit friends in Las Vegas. We will stop to visit family in Az for a day or two on the way and see the Grand Canyon and such. Then, while in Vegas we will head over to Calif. for a day or so and check out Disneyland one day and Legoland, etc.! It's not Disney World but I'm thrilled because according to my hubby we aren't doing disney every year so this will be my way of sneaking it in!:cool1::goodvibes

Anyone ever been to Disneyland??

Just found this, I'm planning our Oct trip and I am looking for inspiration! I am having so much trouble trying to plan our days between MNSSHP, the limited showings of Fantasmic, not wanting too many late nights, avoid/not avoid EMH, not getting hoppers...ack my head is about to explode.

This was fun to read, look forward to hearing more.

The dessert table:

the cake and cupcakes I saw online and had my mom recreate:

some dog bone sugar cookies and puppy chow I made and put into dog bowls to serve. The hershey kisses have stickers on the bottom that say Cole's 2nd birthday with a picture of a dog. (don't mind the red cups..I know they don't match but we had forgot to get them)

Ok, so i don't have much in the way of Disney to update yet. I'm waiting on the park hours to be released and my 90 day ADR time. I would like to share a couple of pics though. First I will show you my binder and folders in it because I think it's cute.

Also, I have wanted to get this little guy on past trips but it just didn't seem like it was worth it off site. Now that we will be staying onsite and doing the ddp I was very excited to purchase this a while back. I have since read the entire thing:thumbsup2

AND, I have set a goal for myself to loose some weight and tone up by the time our trip comes (and hopefully for this summer also). My goal was to be able to be comfortable in a swimsuit and not embarrased (sp?) I also wanted to be able to wear a 'normal' bottom swimwuit. I have only been getting the ones with the shorts for as long as I remember because of not wanting to show my legs/butt. Well, so far in the last 2 months I have lost 7 1/2 pounds and am feeling better about myself. I only have a few more pounds to go and some toning to do to reach my goal. Soooo, I went swimsuit shopping a little early. I figured if I bought a suit I could hang it up for inspiration to continue working out.

Here is the one I found.

I LOVE it. Teal is my favorite color and I LOVE palm trees. It's perfect because it's as close to a bikini as you can get but with still covering the one area I don't think will ever be the same since I had my 3 boys (my belly button area). What do you think?

here are the shorts and tank top I got that match to go over it when I'm not in the water

Yes, I love my passporter as well. I am very happy to have it and can't wait to really use it.

The mid section is hard for me also. That's why I like the fact that it covers that area. Hopefully I can get my thighs and butt in shape in order to wear it.

Yeah, disney needs to hurry up already. Don't they know we like to plan, plan, plan??

Ok, I want to post SOMETHING so I'm going to post some random pics.

These are from part of one of Dylan's field trips. Jerry went on the first one and I went on this one. They went to the oldest and biggest cemetary in our nearby city of Quincy. (our schools are getting worse and worse about field trips and such, they used to go to neat places)They also went to one of our local t.v. stations but my camera died about then :(

Dylan and his friend Kayden. It was quite comical watching these 2 interact. He's at the age where they are starting to flirt. Funny and sad at the same time.

Another Passporter fan here! Love, love, love that book. The back pockets worked great for me to jot down notes throughout our trip so I could remember and write my TR when we got back! It was fun to fill out my thoughts and Joe's too.

Congratulations on loosing weight! And I'm rooting you on for the last couple pounds and toning! Toning is the hardest part for me, working out just never seems to happen. I think its awesome that you will be able to pull off a swimsuit like that after three kids! :thumbsup2

It's fun to see the pics of 'normal life', the field trips, cars and such. I recall field trips to the zoo and museums - surprsing it's to a cemetary and the YMCA, but I suppose with budget cuts and all...BUT, what's more important is that the kids enjoy it, learn and have fun!

Glad to hear more good things about the passporter. I can't wait to use it at disney. It seems like it will be very convenient.

Thanks for the congrats. Toning is the hardest part for me also. When I started excercising my dh said he didn't want me to loose weight and I told him I didn't really mind the weight I was at but I just wanted things to be lifted and toned. Losing the pounds is just an added bonus to doing the workouts. I hope I can pull it off without people saying, " wow, she really shouldn't be wearing that" lol.

Yeah, our school is really getting bad especially about field trips. Like you said though, at least the boys had fun.

Hey Tracy,

Thanks for sharing your every day pics with us! They were really cute.:goodvibes And the boys are SO handsome!!! You're going to have your hands full in a few years...with all those girls calling!!;)

I thought the pic of you and Blake at school was cute! And how sweet of him to make you some crying material for Mother's day! It's so nice his school invites you in for that! My preschool does that for us, but Ethan's elementary school didn't.....

Love the framed pic of the boys handprints for Jerry....I may need to steal that one from you for Todd for Father's day!! It's so cute!!!:cutie:

Thanks again for sharing!!

Ok, so have you heard about the lady who took off to WDW w/one of her children after clearing out her bank account and stealing a coworker's drivers liscense? She then called and said her and her daughter had been kidnapped and thrown in a trunk. What the ????????? Even had the gull to call her husband and freak him out. They of course caught her at WDW returning to her hotel room at the GF. (good choice of hotels though, lol) And we thought we were disney obsessed:confused3

My only question is if you are going to flip out and take off to disney...why only take one of your 3 children????:confused3 Yeah, she had 2 other children she left behind at home.

Anyway, I just had to comment about it on here when I heard it.

No problem, I love pictures and I'm just glad I didn't bore anyone with them. I am really dreading the whole girl thing in a few years...ugh. You will have the same problem though so maybe we can work through it together, lol.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, it is nice that his school at least does that. I guess they are trying to make up for all the other things they don't do.

Steal away. I really like the idea. I was thinking about doing it on a shirt but figured he would get more use out of just framing it and hanging it over his desk here at home. When the boys had smaller feet ( actually I think Dylan was the only little guy we had) I made him a shirt with Dylan's footprints all over it (in different colors of paint) and wrote " My son walks all over me" on the front. I love doing keepsake things like that.

Hey! I am getting very excited for our trip. It is getting closer and closer. I will really begin to feel the excitement once I can make our ADR's and such. On one hand I don't want summer to be over but on the other I do so that we can go to disney!!! I like that pic too. Non posed pics are always special. That is why I always have my camera handy, lol.

Hello all. SO sorry again for my absense. Life is generally quite busy around here in the summer and the last few weeks have been especially busy as it looks like we might be taking in my 16 year old niece. Anyway, I am trying to get prepared to make my ADR's on Monday:cool1:but I'm a little worried about how to do it. The bad part about going at the end of one month and beginning of another is the way they put out the park hours. So far I only have the hours for the first 3 days of our trip (end of Sept.) and have 7 more days after that to try and plan(beginning of Oct. isn't out yet). If anyone has any suggestions on how to plan for this kind of a situation I would REALLY appreciate it as I am starting to freak out about it. Thanks for any help

Hey! Thanks for wishing me luck. I hope I can figure it all out by then.

I did hear that they should take all of them ok but I'm just worried about whether or not I should change some of them because without knowing the park hours for all of the days I'm not positive if I should keep the parks on the days that I had them:confused3 I don't know. I guess I'll just make them and we will have to adjust accordingly.

I figured while I was waiting to make my ADR's I would post some pics from this past weekend. Jerry actually had 5 days off in a row so we got in some good family time. We had a garage sale, a bday party to go to and then we went to a place called Funcity for the first time. It is an hour from our house and this was our first time there. We had a lot of fun and WILL be back. They have a big waterpark, an arcade, go karts, etc. We went on Sunday to spend the day there because we thought Jerry had to work the next day. We found out right before going to bed that night that he had two more days off so we decided to go back on Monday night and spend the night there. We did the waterpark again on Monday and the arcade/go karts on Tues. morning before we left. I have a lot of pictures and some of them are kind of crappy because they are pics of pics. I took them with a waterproof camera and our scanner isn't hooked up right now. Anyway, I hope I haven't bored you too much and don't overwhelm you with these pictures.

Saturday morning my mom and I were having a garage sale and Dylan and Blake were going fishing with their grandpa.

don't know if you can see very well here but at the bday party for my older niece the younger one was running around with Cole and went to fall. She put her hands out to stop herself and it was the hot grill we had cooked on earlier. OUCH! Might I add that the dads were out there supervising when this happened, lol. She only touched it for a second but ended up with little blisters on every finger.

Cole with daddy on the lazy river, we were on a double tube. There is a part towards the end that you can go under a waterfall and every time we would get close to it Cole would cover his eyes.

Dylan and Blake on a double tube slide (right before they bonked their heads together and both got headaches, lol)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/06-24025.jpg

Dylan had already gone on "the steep slide" while I was with Cole in the room and now wanted Blake and me to try it. Blake went a little bit a head of me. That little blur on the orange slide is me,lol. BTW, I only ended up going once because I said I felt like I had gotten an enema(?) after going down this thing, lol. When you hit the water at the end it was pretty sudden and you definately got an instant wedgie, lol. Oh, well, it was fun

We went to Pizza hut to grab a bite to eat after we finished at the waterpark and took showers. Then we headed back for some rest.

this pic didn't show up in the last post because I had too many images

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/daisy_tms/06-20134.jpg

this is what I can only describe as a mansion on our way home from Nauvoo. It looks so out of place. It is amongst these "normal" houses on the Mississippi river in a small town. We here that it belongs to a lawyer or doctor from Chicago who built it there so he could be closer to the temple (Morman) and because it was cheaper....like that appears to be a problem for him,lol

Funcity looked like a GREAT time! I loved all the pictures, thanks for sharing! The pic of all your boys lined up at the car arcade games is the best. :thumbsup2

Don't you just love the Dollar Store? Ours here isn't too bad either when it comes to random Disney stuff. The Target Dollar Spot often has stuff too that I pick up. I think those goody bags and the travel bags are really great-the boys are going to be thrilled. I should do a similar thing for Henry for the flight...keep him entertained a bit!

Thanks for saying you liked all the pics, I really like the one of the boys all lined up too. I do LOVE the Dollar Store. It just thrills me when I go in and find the random Disney things. I also really love Target, it is my favorite store but unfortunately I don't get there very often. The closest one to us is a little over an hour away. They have put up every other store around here but still no Target :sad1:

Ok, tomorrow is the big day.....ADR day:cool1: As stated before though i am as nervous about it as I am excited. It just really bothers me that I don't know the hours for most of our trip yet. I'm assuming the Oct. hours should be out on Weds. the first of July. I don't think I should wait until then though for the ADR's since Monday is when I can actually make them. Can anyone help me with this??:confused3 Also, can someone tell me what time the lines actually open (in Florida time and then I'll figure out what time that is here)?

Thanks a lot everybody.

OH Thank you for the idea on the Pez dispensers..

OH MY GOODNESS. That was stressful:eek: I just got off the phone from making my ADR's. I was up until 1:30 in the morning making final adjustments and making sure I knew what I wanted. Then set my alarm for 7 a.m. sharp and didn't think about the fact that Florida time is an hour earlier than here:confused: I had a 35 minute wait when I called:scared1:I finally got someone to answer and then found out that a few of the ones I wanted were already gone on the days I wanted:sad1: so I had to try and come up with something spur of the moment. I guess I wasn't as prepared as I thought. Then when I got off the phone I realized I had forgot one so I called back to get it and looked over the other ones real quick first to try and adjust them better. Luckily I only had to wait 12 minutes that time. ANYWAY, I'm going to sift through all the chicken scratch now and see what I actually ended up with and will hope and pray it will all work together and that I have the right amount of TS and CS meals. Once I sort all that out I will post what I came up with. I just needed to vent first because I think I have stressed myself out on this way too much, lol.

Ok, a quick side note. I got most of the ADR's I wanted but I do have one main problem with them and one more problem since I have learned the park hours for October finally. If things stay as they are...I wasn't able to get breakfast at Crystal Palace:sad1:I was only able to get lunch. Which of course means no empty park viewing for us:sad1::sad1: Also, on the days we have planned for DHS(and ADR's made accordingly) there is no Fantasmic:sad1:

So, my question is....how much am I really missing by not seeing the park empty in the morning and by missing Fantasmic?? I might be able to do them but it would require a lot more planning and headaches to figure it out. Should I leave well enough alone and not stress or are they worth it and I should try harder for them. The Fantasmic might be more doable than the CP because if I really wanted to I could try and move up one of our ressie's at DTD on our off day and be at DHS at 8 for Fantasmic. It would only cost us about $6 more to add another days ticket however, DHS closes at 8 that night so how stupid would that be?

Anyway...any opinions?? I could really use them.:flower3:

Oh my goodness. Did you hear about the monorail crash this morning that killed a cast member? That is so sad. Crazy to hear and a little scary I must say. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the young man who was killed.

I didn't hear about the monorail crash! That is just awful. :sad1:

Opinions/thoughts on the ADRs/park touring - We did Fantasmic once and while we were glad we did it, it's nothing we care to rush back to do. It just wasn't our thing. However, I bet if you keep trying back to get what you want, you'll get it and can arrange your schedule to fit it right.

If you REALLY want to see Fantasmic, I don't think its a waste to add a park day just for the show. That's a really pretty cheap show if you think about it! :goodvibes

Wow, look at all of your Disney stuff. Oh, how I love shopping for Disney, can't wait!! Although, i'm sure i'll be starting up soon enough.

That's great that your ADRs are booked. We ended up switching our park days around for Fantasmic in May and it was so crowded. OH MY!!!!! I'm sure it won't be as crowded when you're there, but it sure did make a huge difference.

I absolutely LOVE the binders.

Hi! It's nice to see another September go-er on here! We are going at the beginning of Sept. though!

We have to see Fantasmic every time that we go. Do you have park hoppers? If not, then you may try to see if you can do some switching around..it really is amazing... We try to see it twice!

Have you tried the online ADR system. It is really easy to use and then you can see what availability is before you make any decisions. I have made tons of changes to my ADR's this time because it is so simple!

I am feeling your early pain about not too many subscribers....my PTR has a small few...I think the official TR's get more traffic, although yours is doing great! Have a fun trip!

Hi Tracy!

I go away a week and boy have you been busy!! Love all the fun Disney stuff you picked up for the kids...they'll love it. I was just at our Dollar Tree last night picking up some stuff for rewards here and found some great Disney stuff myself!!:thumbsup2 Love that store for that kind of stuff!!

We have done Fantasmic the last two trips with our boys and we love it. I love the music and that Mickey is a hero and that you get to see all the characters. It's a pretty cool show, I think. And a nice way to end the day at DHS in my opinion. Have you decided what you're going to do?

Have you checked out the online ADR system, some other DISers I know have found better times for things online than talking to a CM...may be worth the try at least for CP?

Let us know how you make out!! And btw, loved all the pics of your last trip of the kids, too cute! They are really getting SO big!!!! Hoe you're enjoying your Summer so far!!:goodvibes

thanks for the opinion on Fantasmic. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about it. I think I might count it as a lost and a "something new" for the next trip but I'm not positive yet.

Thanks Kristen! They decorated them up themselves. This year I had covers designed for them but will have them decorate the backs.

I did check out the online thing. It just worried me not to speak to an actual person. I was able to get the morning CP that I wanted that way though. :thumbsup2

I'll come check out your PTR.

So sorry that once again I have been MIA. Here are the ADR's as they stand right now. So far there is only one that I can't decide between. As you will see I have two choices for our first time at CP. I started out thinking I definately wanted the early breakfast for the empty park view. When I couldn't get it at first though and got the lunch I had a lot of people tell me the lunch would be better anyway. I was able to book a breakfast online though so now I have to decide which one to cancel. If I do make it a breakfast I think I will have to change something else so we don't have too many meals that are big breakfasts. (changed Chef Mickey's to breakfast when couldn't get CP)

Monday, Sept. 28th (first park day)
Magic Kingdom day.
Crystal Palace~either 8:20 breakfast or 11:40 lunch :confused3
supper at Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's

Tuesday, Sept. 29th
Epcot day
Cape May Cafe~ 8:55 breakfast
lunch at Electric Umbrella?
Garden Grill~ 7:10 supper

Wednesday, Sept. 30th
DHS day
lunch at Pizza Planet
Sci-Fi Diner~8:20 supper ( a little late I know)

Thursday, Oct. 1st
Clearwater beach day
Planet Hollywood~ 6:45 supper

Friday, Oct. 2nd
Animal Kingdom day
boys pirate cruise from Grand Floridian ~ 9:30 to 11:30
lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
Grand Floridian photo shoot at 6:00 (can't schedule til 3o day mark)
The Wave~ 7:05 supper

Saturday, Oct. 3rd
Epcot again
Chef Mickey's~ 8:15 breakfast
lunch ?
Coral Reef~ 5:40 supper

Sunday, Oct. 4th
waterpark day. (still haven't decided which one for sure...I think Typhoon Lagoon?)
Ohana~ 8:35 breakfast
lunch at waterpark
Planet Hollywood~ 7:30 supper

Monday, Oct. 5th
DHS again
lunch at Backlot Express
50's Prime Time Cafe~ 5:15 supper

Tuesday, Oct. 6th
DTD and MNSSHP
T-Rex~ 11:30 lunch
Dylan and Blake have appt. with pirate league at 4:15pirate:
supper at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's ?

Ok, so that's what I have for now. PLEASE post any opinions as this is my first time with all of this I would love to hear them. Will post a regular life update soon. I have got to go to sleep

No worries on the delays between posts-you have 3 little guys to take care of and it's SUMMER - I bet you are busyyyyyy!!!!!! :goodvibes

Your ADRs do look really, really good! I was trying to imagine the schedule in my head - if there was too much traveling between the locations, or times, or something, but it really does look great to me! I've never eaten at quite a few of the places so I cannot give a food opinion. At Sci Fi, the food is kinda "eh", but people RAVE on the burgers, fries, and shakes. We are going back this trip just for that! :thumbsup2 But, of course, I have read some recent reviews of other food (ribs, sandwiches, etc) being pretty tasty there too. So maybe they have kicked it up a couple notches.

I look forward to seeing your GF photo shoot and the boys in their Pirate make-overs! (er...not a make-over, that's too girly! ;)) What a great idea to have it right before MNSSHP!

Thank you so much for understanding. Yes, we are quite busy around here. Thank you also for trying to imagine it in your head and helping me out. I could use all the help I can get, lol. Glad to hear you think it sounds good. I hope it all works out ok.

I can't wait to see the photo shoot and pirate league things myself. We were going to go as hippies for the party so we could dress up but not really have to wear costumes and be hot/uncomfortable for the party. My boys really wanted to be pirates though so we settled on pirates but simple pirates. We are all going to wear white tshirts with jagged edge sleeves and I have a design I might put on the front of them. Then black pants, probably like a sweat pant material, cut off jagged just below the knee. Then we will tie red fabric around our waists and drape down the side. We will have eye patches and an earing and maybe bandanas. They don't know that I signed them up for the pirate league thing so I am really looking forward to that being a good surprise for them and it will help them feel more "piratey".

Did you ever find out how much the GF photo shoot costs? I need to look into that more for my trip with my Mom and sister....I forgot about it until I just read your post, so thanks for the reminder. I hope you and the boys are having some fun this Summer, we're so thankful to see the sun this past week and getting out to the beach or yard for some fun. It's been a tough Summer here with all the rain we've been getting. 3 boys + rain = no good!!! As you well know! LOL!!:rotfl:

So excited to see the plans of others who are going around the same time as us! I need to compare your itinerary to mine and see if we're at any parks together.

As for your ADRs, I think they look great! You have some really fun stuff in there!

IMHO, I'd choose the CP lunch, but then, that's because we are NOT a big breakfast kind of family. We get up for the parks and get there, but we don't get up sooooo early to do sit down breakfasts. We use Disney transportation and that would make our mornings too early for me. I like using that time for touring before the crowds. I think you'll enjoy either, though! Not a bad choice to have to make ;)

Your PT report is really good. We are going the Sept.26th - Oct.4th and hope to see you there. :banana:I am like another Diser, I really don't think you will need more than one day at HS but you might, we have 3 kids and they are usually done in 1/2 day and don't want to go back. Also have you thought about the Pirate's League for the boys? This is only around $50 for the 1st package and I'm sure the boys would love it. I am sending you 2 different links and you can read about it.

I am getting things packed up to leave for a week but wanted to say WELCOME and thanks for coming over. That is cool that our dates are at the same time. Where are you staying? I'm going to kind of leave it open to decide which park/s we want to do on the last two park days. Since we've never been to DHS or Epcot I guessed those two but we will know after we spend the first day there. I just figured with my boys being big time into Star Wars, Monsters Inc, Cars, Indiana Jones, etc. that they would want to go back but we will see. I did find out about the pirate league and already have an appt. It is in my itenerary for the day we do MNSSHP. The shirts I made using iron on transfers. The images came from the amazingly talented and generous people on the creative DISigns thread here on the dis. Be warned, it is very addicting.

I'm sorry I don't have time right now to reply to everyone individually. I am packing the car and getting ready to leave for a week. We are going to stay up by where Jerry is working for a week to be closer to him and get to see him more before the boys head back to school. (he is 4 hours away now) The only down side is that the house we are renting for the week doesn't have internet access. :( I promise though that when we return I will have an update including pics of my new ride!!! Ok, We are back from our week of spending time with Jerry and no internet. We only have 40 days to go til we leave for disney:cool1::cool1: I will come back with a life update and general update soon but I have a VERY BIG DECISION to make and I need some help. I got to thinking about something and now might change our plans again. A friend of mine here on the dis told me about how they end their vacations. Instead of going to the beach once during their disney time they stop at the beach on the way home and spend 2 nights there unwinding before they head home. What a perfect way to end our vacation. We always feel like we need a vacation from our vacation when we get home from disney due to all the running. How perfect to have 2 whole days at the beach to relax afterwards. ANYWAY, we could easily pay for two nights at the beach and the stuff for those days as well as have at least $500 left to put towards our vacation if we switched from CBR to Pop or ASMovies. It is a $1000 difference. We just paid it off on Thursday so we would get that $1000 back. We wouldn't really have time to spend at the resort anyway so the only real difference is that we wouldn't have the pirate themed room. A bummer yes but worth the extra money????? Are the values just as nice for the most part as the moderates? I'm curious mainly about room size and how comfortable the beds are. I know there are lots of people who love Pop and I'm sure lots who love ASM (to me it looks like ASMovies has nicer rooms from the online pics) so I really need your opinions. PLEASE HELP

Hey Tracy!

My 1st thought is to do it, stay at POP or ASMo and go to the beach, and to save that $1000, I think it's so worth it. But on that same note....we have stayed at both POP and ASM our last two trips and I will tell you, they are small rooms. We did fine, we didn't spend much time in our rooms at all, but Cole was in a pack and play in the corner so it worked for us. Not so sure next time we go as a family it will though....Coley has been in a bed for months now and unless you bring an air mattress, which will make it that much tighter for you, it's not going to work. And they won't book one of their rooms to you for a party of 5 unless Cole will sleep in a pack and play. Just as an fyi. I think it's doable though if he will, if you're okay with what it is.....a clean, disney themed typical hotel room.....just a place to sleep and get clean, you know? The theming is cute, the food courts are great for the kids, IMO, after a long day or for a quick breakfast. I don't think you can beat the cost. Like I said, we've stayed at both and I prefer POP to ASMo because of the buses primarily....with litlte ones, you need to get home , when you're ready to....Asmo, was the last stop and it took forever to get home some nights....POP is direct so it was so much better for us. I would say they are comparable room wise though.....just different theming. HOpe this helps...... and hope you guys are well!!!!:goodvibes

Hi! Since your youngest is 2, call and double check if he counts for occupancy..If not, then Pop would be a good choice. Keeep in mind that some of the value resorts are oversold so getting in on your dates may be tricky. I love the idea of decompress time, but we are doing that there this time! 10 days in Disney, only 7 in parks......

Good Luck!!!

Hi Kristen!! It has been way too long since I have spent much time on here. Thank you so much for the advice. I was a little worried about the room size because we are bringing a twin size air mattress for Dylan to sleep on. I was really excited about the $1000 price difference though (especially since Jerry is laid off, hopefully just for this week) and staying where there are some huge icons. I called today though since I had made up my mind as to which value I wanted (ASMovies) and they don't have any values available for our dates with the free dining offer. Apparantly that affects it? I guess we were just meant to go to CBR. It's ok because I still want to tour the different resorts so we will still get to see the big icons. Things are going good here, just busy of course. Hope to be able to talk to you more soon.

He doesn't count for occupancy yet thank goodness. That's why we are trying the on site thing this year to see if next time it will be worth the extra or if we'll just stay off site. And as I'm about to post the values are all booked so I guess it doesn't matter anyway. Thanks for the advice though.

It is "officially" paid off as of last Thursday:cool1::thumbsup2 we still have $2000 to come up with for all the miscellaneous things though, yikes. With only 38 days to go it is getting very exciting because I know it will go quickly but that is also scary. With our current situation the money issue is quite frightening but I have faith it will all work out. I still have many shirts to make, passports, invites, character treats, etc. To make things more crazy we just returned home yesterday from a week away and the older two started school today. Well, one did, lol. We weren't aware Dylan needed a physical before school started this year until the school called us while we were gone last week to remind us. Jerry took him to school this morning but they won't let him attend until he has the physical so we are doing that this afternoon:scared1:

I'm also a little curious and was hoping you guys could help me out since you are experienced on site people, lol. I know you get some kind of disney mail when staying at the resorts (due to reading other TR) but was wondering if you could tell me when it usually comes and what it is. Also, if we decide to drive our car to the parks some do you have to pay to park at the resorts if you are a guest of one of the resorts? Thanks for any info and again THANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME:flower3::flower3:

Will return with some pics later.
