Hi all you wonderful DISers! :wave2: Hope you can join me for the next installment of the LIVE! Adventures in Dining at WDW with Nicki and Todd! This dining review comes with a bit of a twist, we are taking our 2 nieces age 6 and 12.5 so we will have a few more character meals, probably alot of pics of pizza and chicken nuggets too!
For all of you that have read my past dining review welcome back! :cheer2: For those of you that have not let me introduce us!
Nicki - That would be me! :hyper: Obsessive WDW meal planner and picture taker although DH is really getting into it now too! Love everything about WDW from the parks to the resorts, shopping and dining too! Have trained DH to not touch his food until I tell him the picture came out great :rotfl2:
Todd - DH, super sweet and wonderful guys and loves to relax at the end of the day with a good meal. Doesnt get too involved with the meal planning (although I do try to drag him into it  ) and has been known on more than one occassion to tell me that he "isnt feeling it" for the next ressie we have just a few hours from when we were supposed to be there! :scared: Totally supports my time on the Dis because of all the wonderful things I have found for him to eat! :rotfl:
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/MKThursday030.jpg
DNiece1 pooh: - The older one, 12.5 going on 30...you know the kind, they are at that in between stage of a kid and a teen...too old for most stuff but not old enough for others! Loves Lilo, TinkerBelle and Pooh. Great kid, super picky eater...super slow eater too. Likes pizza, light on the sauce...chicken nuggets, cinnamon pretzels, pancakes, corn dogs and waffles.
DNiece2 :tinker: - The little one, just turned 6 years old and is so funny! Loves Aurora, Ariel, Stitch and TinkerBelle. Somewhat picky eater, will not eat sandwiches but will eat all the items separate from the bread, loves pizza, chicken nuggets, pancakes and Apple Jacks.
We have taken the girls before, Oct 06, and was a bit of a nightmare. I think the kids were just overwhelmed with the entire experience.... They were 3 and 10 and it was the first time DH and I had them for longer than a sleepover night. I had food poisoning the first night (thanks Chef Mickeys) and was miserable for about a day and a half so DH had to step up and take care of them..poor guy, he took them to the POR for dinner and the arcade, then POR for breakfast and the arcade some more so the girls really didnt get to see AK or HS, they did spend 1/2 day at MK and Epcot. We only did 2 TS meals and that was CM and the Princess Breakfast on our departure day...that was a huge hit with all of us and the little one still remembers eating breakfast with Ariel.
This past summer we decided to give them a WDW trip for their Xmas gift and my mom pitched in too. We decided on January because DH and I are too busy during Xmas and though January would be slower at the parks. I figure since they are older it may be alot easier and no stroller this time! I have also planned alot more character meals for the kids to enjoy...mostly breakfast.
Originally we were going to stay at the POP but with DH pushing and pushing I finally threw in the towel and booked the Poly instead. He said it would be so much easier for us with the monorail instead of buses all the time and if he needed to go back to the room and make work calls or emails he feels more comfortable leaving us at MK for a bit. Got a great rate for a garden room and requested third floor Samoa overlooking the volcano pool.

This trip was a suprise for the kids, they did not find out until Xmas so I had lots of planning to do and wanted to get their imput without making it obvious. After much sneaky questions I found out that the older one loves Pooh and the little one wanted to eat with the Princesses again. The hard part was the dinner TS because DH loves to end the day with a relaxing sit down dinner and I had to make sure there was something on the kids menu that the girls would eat.
We were supposed to go up on Wed night and then that turned into Wed morning and as of last week that turned into driving up on Tues night! So of course more dining ressies were needed!
The only down side to this is the weather, we are looking at 33 low on Tue and Wed morning, high of 58 on Wed afternoon but at least the sun is out. On Thur morning again a low in the 30's and high of 61....the rest of the week looks like low 50 and high 70's. I hope the girls can go swimming at least one, they are dying to try that volcano pool.
The plans are to drive up tomorrow, leave town around 4pm and if the kids are hungry pull off on the interstate for dinner or if they can wait until WDW we will eat at Capt Cooks.
Day 1 - Wed Jan 21
For breakfast on Wed I scored a 8:10 am ressie at Crystal Palace...just booked this last week and they had it open, can you believe that?? Great start! The CM said there were lots of times open so I hope it will not be too crazy busy in there. DH and I have eaten here many times and loved it. Hope to take lots of pics of us in front of the castle before breakfast and then hit the park! First stop is Fantasyland and then over to see Tink!
Lunch will probably be Cosmic Rays since I can get a hot dog or chicken for the older one and def chicken for the little one. DH loves this place because of the cheese topping. I would prefer going to CHH which may happen since they sell chicken too!
Dinner is at 1900 PF at the GF. DH and I had breakfast there and didnt like it plus it was super noisy but I asked him if it was ok to eat with Cindy and her family and he said for the kids sure! Lots of good dinner reviews here lately so we are all excited to try it....do not think the girls will eat that much but as long as I can get something in them I will be happy.
Day 2 - Thur Jan 22
Planning on having breakfast a bit later, thought I would let everyone sleep in a bit. Going to try Capt Cooks or maybe Main Street Bakery for breakfast..yup another MK day! We cannot go wrong with either place!
Lunch will be either CHH or Cosmic Ray's
again....maybe try to get us into The Plaza instead
Dinner that night will be at Tony's on Main Street. DH and I loves our lunch there and the kids will eat pizza and spaghetti and be happy....lets hope!
Day 3 - Friday Jan 23
This is our Epcot day and we have 8:35 ressies at the Princess Breakfast in Norway We did this with the kids back in 06 and they both had a great time! Loves the food and the little one was stunned when Ariel came out and visited with her. Hope she is there again!
Lunch, well who knows, DH and I are hoping to eat at Tangierine Cafe and the girls can eat anywhere they want to...probably USA or something.
Dinner is at the Coral Reef and I am so excited to try this place again, it has been 10 years since we ate there last. Booked this place because I thought the girls would get a huge kick out of the underground aquarium.
Day 4 - Saturday Jan 24
Early morning breakfast at Ohana. DH and I did this in Aug and we loved it, the little one is in love with Stitch and the older one loves Lilo and we are staying at the Poly so that works out great!
This is a day that I have no idea what we are doing, I am going to let the kids pick which park they want to visit that day.
We do have dinner ressies at Fultons Crab House that night, DH and I love this place and the older one is addicted to crab legs. We will just have a nice DTD night with a treat from Goofys Candy and some shopping
Day 5 - Sunday Jan 25 Departure day
Breakfast ressies at Kona. Have no plans for the day other than get on the road for home at 3pm. I am going to let the girls decide if they want to go to a park or go swimming.
All of these plans are subject to change...you know how things go with us and throw a few kids in the mix and who knows whats going to happen!

There you are my friend! I think that is the perfect name for him!
Can you believe that I missed Bren's thread? Thanks for showing it to me, I just emailed her. We changed our dates because of the 40% off code (had to save some money to spend on the F&W ;) ) so we will be at the POP Oct 22-25 and the BC Oct 25 to Nov 1st....looks like I miss you again :sad1:

Hi Nicki, I'm new to your reviews, and I'm signing up for this one. I just went and read through your October reviews and loved it. Nice descriptions, awesome pictures. Thank you for doing this.
Can I ask, why you didn't like the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare? I'm thinking I want to do both breakfast and dinner there on our trip after Thanksgiving. Maybe dinner on arrival day and breakfast on our departure day. For breakfast, I've seen where they mention the characters are Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins, but I've also saw comments that Pooh and friends were there. What was your experience?
Also, do you know if Cape May is the only breakfast with the bread pudding? DH 's bread pudding. I've thought about doing this breakfast since we're staying at BWV and it'll be convenient.
Jiko sounds AWESOME. I hadn't considered it before until now.
Ok, I've asked alot of questions. Have a GREAT trip with your nieces!

Obviously, I'm in...living vicariously through you... imagining the warm(er) weather....LOL!
I'm interested in the CHH... Kona, and the princesses in Norway... Though Cait. is a little more "mature"...ha. I think she'd like it too.
Are we going to miss Brenda and the gang? (DARN! I just looked, and they're leaving the same day we check in....:sad2: ) Maybe there'll be more people for a get-together later in Oct... There's still time.
Anyway... like I said, I'm in.... bring on the food (and fun!)

Thanks for reading! Hope the pictures and the reviews help you out! I think the main reason we did not like 1900 PF was our very late ADR time and the food was not being replenished and what was there was very bad....except for the bread pudding which was amazing. The noise level at 1900 PF was so crazy we couldnt hear each other. DH is not thrilled about going back there but for the girls he will do anything :)
I know 1900 PF, Cape May and Tusker House have bread pudding and I think Chef Mickeys does too but I will find that one out when we go back in March.
Well, you know that I am definitely in! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: Have to see what new places you might get us to try this time.

Hey babe! Yeah it looks like we are getting in at the tail end of the Brenda and the Gang trip but knowing you (and me) we may add on extra days and make it to the party!
Well, it's kind of a bummer, cuz I already got the plane tickets :cheer2: (that way we HAVE to go...kwim?;) ) I can't take Cait. out of school any more days, or they'll be upset, and she'll have a lot to catch up on... ugh, high school.... :sad2: That's okay, everyone else will have adults in their party, nobody wants to have to watch what they say/do in front of a teenager... right? We're good... maybe more people will be there at the end of the month, and we'll hang out.
Anyway... I can't wait to see your pictures... can you take a picture of the "Hawaii" building for me... the garden side, so I can see what our view will be? (and a picture of the menu at Kona...for breakfast.) Thanks girly! I'm looking forward to some of those beautiful "Poly" pictures to add to my screensaver!

And of course, he does this:rolleyes2 . I can't wait to hear about this trip and see your pictures. Too bad the weather wasn't better for you though.
My tip with kids, we have a 15 and 12 year old that we have been taking down there since they were 7 and 4, is to be sure to rest during the middle of the day. Go back to the resort and chill for a while. It has helped us with staying at the parks later at night then.
Have Fun!:flower3:

My tip with kids, we have a 15 and 12 year old that we have been taking down there since they were 7 and 4, is to be sure to rest during the middle of the day. Go back to the resort and chill for a while. It has helped us with staying at the parks later at night then.
Have Fun!:flower3:
Hi there! Thanks for the kid tips and reading my sure to be hilarious (cuz of the kiddos) review!

Oh, you'll do fine... take rest often, let them snack, I have to pm you something else... and just remember, they will both want to do different things, because they're different ages... that compromise is a good thing, and the fact that there are 2 of you, and you can split up/meet up after a ride...
Enjoy yourself....get the girls into the food report... I'm sure when they know you're sharing with others, they'll want to get into it!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know we arrived safely. Dinner was the fine cusine of McDonalds chicken nuggets! Everyone slept on the way up and miraculously woke up once the first WDW sign was spotted. We followed a few monorails and the little one said they were taking us to our hotel!
We pulled in to the Poly at 10:30 last night and the place was completely empty. The kids where so excited to see the tiki torches and they loved their leis. We had the 6 year old practicing ALOHA all the way up, she kept saying HOLA instead but got it right when we pulled up to valet...then she was saying it to everyone! After a quick call to their mom to let them know we were ok the kids were checking out the lobby and they both said this hotel was awesome! The little one could have stayed in the lobby watching cartoons all night!
The room is incredible, the Samoa building ground floor walk out to the volcano pool, hope it warms up for us to use it! It was 36 last night and a very cold 32 this morning....should warm up to 55 today eek!
I am the lone soldier up this morning, we have 8:05 ressies at CP and I am heck bent on making them! I still have to go to the lobby concierge this morning and get the kids tickets, they open at 7am.
So wish me luck everyone! We are coming back to the room to freshen up for dinner around 4, maybe take a nap too! While everyone is relaxing I will post breakfast, lunch and maybe snacks! Dinner tonight is 1900 PF, the little one is psyched to eat with Cindallella (cinderella!)

Ok we are back and I am totally exhausted but I am going to try my hardest to get day 1 posted...forgive me for any typos as my hands are freezing from the 39 degree temp tonight, supposed to get to the high 20's! I also apologize if the pics are not up to snuff...it is so much harder with kids!
This morning I had a 6am wake up call so DH and I could get ready and then get the girls up...waking up to nice Poly Hawaiian music is my kind of wake up call although Brad Pitt would work nicely too! We went to the lobby to get the girls their tickets and man it was freezing! All of us were in 4 layers of clothes and that wasnt enough, the poor little one was a popcicle.
As you will soon see, Day 1 was all about timing! Monorail was right there for us and it was heated! Thank goodness! We walked right into MK, walked right into CP and we were seated at 8:05 on the dot to a completely empty place.....and it stayed that way for the 40 minutes we were there! I have never seen it so dead or so quiet, we loved it!
The girls ate very well here, the older one loved the sausage and the hard boil eggs..and the puffed french toast which was AWESOME! She had hot cocoa and they brought her out a plate of mini marshmallows
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21007.jpg
The little one had grapes (she can eat her weight in grapes) and half an apple, 2 blueberry muffins (she kept telling us to try them they were so good) a puffed french toast and donut holes...nothing like processed and natural sugar to get you going! Apple juice was the drink of the morning!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21008.jpg
Here is my plate, which I inhaled, I guess the cold makes you hungry! Love the eggs, the sausage was amazing, killer biscuits and gravy, wonderful red skin potatoes but the corn beef hash is horrible...too salty! The potato casserole was also terrible, the potatoes were not cooked and the topping was too sandy texture wise. And of course, puffed toast! This was just a fantastic way to start our day!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21009.jpg
Todd had a plate o' stuff...basically all of the above but he had bacon!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21010.jpg
Since the place was so empty I have a ton of buffet pics, the charcters spent a ton of time with the few people that were in there...it was just a blast and the girls had such an amazing time. The little one kept saying "this is the best day of my life!"

After breakfast we bundled up again and headed to the Castle. When I tell you it was like having the park to ourselves I am not joking...there was NO ONE there. I mean no one. We were the only people on the carousel, all the rides were heated and no lines at all. We all had to buy mittens because we were numb from the cold.
We hopped to ToonTown at 10 and we saw the Fairies, Aurora, Belle and Cinderella. Plus Mickey and Minnie in the tent. There was zero lines...nothing, nada zilch. We did the entire park, all the rides there is to do by 3:30....I am not kidding or embelishing, everything was a complete walkon...all the big rides, all the little rides. The staff said they would let us sit on most of the rides and just ride them again (in Fantasyland) so we could stay warm. It may be cold but it was one of the best days ever. Even the waitress at CP said it was the slowest she has ever seen....maybe most people stayed in and ordered room service!
For lunch DH had to have Cosmic Rays..the older one wasnt hungry so she has an ice tea...the ADHD meds take away her appetite (she takes them after breakfast). DH and I had burgers and the little one had chicken nuggets and grapes.
The restaurant was pretty busy but not bad...I took the girls to get a seat and DH doctored the burgers and the fries with a ton of cheese! His is the one covered in pickles and mine in sauteed onions

For dinner I had booked the 1900 PF dinner for the kids to eat with Cindy and family. I was worried about it because DH and I had been to the breakfast and the food was gawd awful and the service not much better.
After dinner tonight I can tell you we will never set foot in this place again....no way no how.
We arrived at 6:50 and had a 7:15 ressie. The place was slammed. We waited and waited and waited and the little one was getting insane...I thought I was going to lose my mind. Luckily she started playing a game with a few other kids while I checked on what was going on. Well it seems that the diners that were already in the place were not leaving so no tables were opening up.
By 7:50 I was really seeing red and was just about to leave when we were buzzed.
We were seated quickly and the girls had the TinkerBelle raspberry lemonade. DH had some sparkling red wine thing and I had the XFusion cocktail....give Auntie Nicki booze now!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2007.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2008.jpg
DH got us a caesar salad which was so anchovie tasting I almost lost the first bite. The asparagus soup was cold and so salty it was unedible.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2009.jpg
The older one had pizza that was "just ok" and a roll that was so hard and so dry...no butter on the buffet and it took forever to get some. The little one ate 2 bites of yucky pizza, grapes and gummy bears.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2005.jpg
I had the best prime rib with horseradish sauce, terrible cold and salty mashed potatoes, the grossest mac and cheese ever made, super salty cocovan and mushy pasta with a very salty meat sauce
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2004.jpg
DH had prime rib and a so so chicken marsala...he also had very very greasy chicken wings which he said had zero taste. There was jasmine rice that was so hard and sticky it was like the paste you use in school back in the 60's and 70's
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2010.jpg
The saving grace of the meal was dessert. The kids liked the cookies and stuff. DH and I loved every bit of the dessert. The key lime tart, the most to die for amazing bread pudding with vanilla sauce, fruit tarts, chocolate mousse, apple crumb thing, carrot cake, cheese cake....all of it was fantastic
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2030.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2031.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan21part2033.jpg
The characters were incredible, totally the highlight of the meal. The service was terrible and we had to stack dirty dishes up on the table, take new silverware from the table next to us, and hunt the waitress down for the check....the little one was getting cranky, and truth be told so wasnt Aunt Nicki!
So you guys I have to tell you 1900 PF was just not good other than the prime rib and desserts. I honestly cannot see us going back there for any meal.
Next up some buffet shots of 1900 PF

I think Auntie Nicki was deserving of two drinks at this point. We were on the edge about 1900 and your review convinced us not to try it.
Dont do it my friend, Todd kept saying "Are you kidding me? We waited all th is time for THIS???" The options were pretty hairy, the Asian and the Seafood items looked terrible and dry and they just were not replenishing the foods that often....for $150 I feel robbed! We all enjoyed the characters but I think we would have enjoyed dinner elsewhere much better!

So now all three of them are snoring away and I am ready to turn in too! Get this, I only loaded food pics to Photobucket so maybe later tonight I will upload pics of the girls!
Tomorrow we are planning on Capt Cooks for a quick breakfast and then off to HS for the day. Hoping the park is empty too so we can come back to the room and rest before a night of DTD and crab!! I think we are going to get the little one McDonalds first so she will not give me any dinner time trouble! I did add a ressie for Sci Fi but I dont know if we will go...time will tell!
See you guys sometime tomorrow....oh and I did not see the premier of LOST tonight so please....dont tell me what happened!!!

Can't wait to hear more!! We will be staying at Poly in June for the first time. CP looked very good. Haven't ever been there but will def. make ressies for it. Sounds like a great way to start the day!:)

Thanks for the update, Nicki! :flower3:
CP looks yummy. I guess we will have to try it during our August/September trip, esp. now that Boatwrights will stop serving breakfast.
:thumbsup2 on the ice cream sandwich - never fails to amaze me that no matter HOW cold it is one can always enjoy one of these.
Sorry about Park Fare! Especially since you had to wait for such an unbelieveably long time! Thank god for yummy adult drinks with glow cubes, paper umbrellas aso, lol! ;) So there is one restaurant we don't need to make reservations for!
Have a magical Thursday!!pixiedust:

I can't believe how cold it is down there right now. Sounds like it is almost as cold as it is here in North Georgia! I am also amazed at how empty the park was -- how nice to get all of MK done by 3:30!
Crystal Palace looks delicious as always! That's a shame about Park Fare though -- we ate there for breakfast a couple of years ago, but have never tried dinner -- won't be trying it now, that's for sure!
Poor Aunt Nickie! I would have needed a drink by then also!

Good morning from a 27 degree Disney World! Wow this is insane! Todays high is supposed to be 60 which is better than the 54 we had yesterday. So being the nice girl I am I decided to let them all sleep in this morning and then hit Capt Cooks for breakfast, go to HS and see what that brings us.
Promise to update later! Have a great day everyone!

We went to 1900 park fare in July for my dd 7th birthday dinner and it was horrible too.We had been many times before and didn't go the visit before and my dd missed it -she was in love with prince charming because he had kissed her hand last time.We had a 8:00pm ressie and we waited a really long time too. They sat us in the last table down the side that has the door that opens into the lobby of the hotel near the doors to the back area by the pool. The food was horrible-the prime rib was more like pot roast and the doors were open but had a rope across them. When it came time for the fireworks at MK alot of people came rushing at us and were hoping over the ropes but they were bumping into our table.Prince charming was not even very friendly to my dd-she said when he left he is not my boyfriend anymore! It was a big disapointment and I won't be going back anytime soon but it is such a shame cause it used to be great-even before we had kids dh and I would go for the food.Have a great day and stay warm!!

Awesome pics! I really wish I had read a review like this of 1900 PF before we went I would have cancelled. We had a horrible time. The food was gross and they put us in what seemed to be the hallway. Which wasn't too bad but when they did the dance we couldn't see and then we had people waiting to get into the other restaurant right there watching us and coming in to snap pics of the characters. I wanted the kids to go see them dance and when I looked back there was people blocking the walkway to see. No big deal others eating the hall wanted to see to. Well NO it was people who were just passing by who wanted to see. It is probably the only place we will never return to.

Hi everyone! I have all the kids and the one big kid bathed and in bed asleep so now I can play!
Since it was in the high 20's this morning I let them all sleep in...secretly hoping that HS would be as dead as MK....boy was I wrong but more on that later!
Around 8:30 we all went to Capt Cooks for breakfast...this place was packed to the gills! Todd got his staple, a cinnamon bun and it was great, nice and soft and yummy...Main Street style it aint but it is still good.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22001.jpg
He and I order the adult breakfast platter and I shared half with the older one...her appetite is verocious before her meds and completely gone after she takes them. The eggs were awesome, the bacon nice and well done and crispy...fantastic fat and juicy sausages and the biscuits were great. The potatoes were a little overcooked but good too. Todd had that BLECH coffee and we shared and OJ.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22003.jpg
The kids each got the french toast sticks with bacon and grapes. The little one had apple juice and the older one had the strawberry milk (that is the nastiest stuff ever!) The amount of bacon they got was ridiculous..so much of it! They loved the french toast and ate every single bite.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22002.jpg
We then made it to the bus stop for the HS bus and it was packed like sardines....lucky it is just a short ride! So when the bus pulled in what do you think we saw? Brazillian tour groups, tons of them, at least 8 that I counted (all with different banners and flags). They were loud, they were obnoxious and they all reeked of nasty cologne. I thought I was going to lose my mind getting through bag check and the ticket counter.
We made a beeline to Toy Story, got the FP and the line was 50 minutes. We did a few attractions and then Todd took the older one to ride the hard core stuff and I took the little one to see the characters. That worked out perfect!!! The character lines moved fast and we met up around 12:30 for lunch at Pizza Planet.
The older one didnt eat but the little one gobbled up her grapes, apple juice and pizza. By the way I was able to order her pizza without sauce and she loved it.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22028.jpg
Todd and I each had the cheese pizza hopping the older one would take a piece and then we shared the caprese salad with kalamata olives, mozzarella cheese and assorted tomatoes and lettuce. The pizza was ok and the salad was ok...a bit wilted. Nothing to write home about and if we were not with the kids we wouldnt have eaten there but it was decent and not BLECH at all....especially when you dip the pizza in Ranch dressing.....one of my best friends taught me that...she is from Long Island and said the pizza here is so bad the only way she can eat it is to dip it in dressing ha ha!

I am watching the news and Disney is all over it..they are buying out 600 top employees out of their contracts and if that doesnt work they will be massive layoffs throught WDW....not good people...not good.
To make our lives easier I decided to let the little one eat chicken and fries from McD's which is right next to Fultons. This was the best idea ever because she was a very happy kids. She promised me she would behave while the rest of us ate dinner.
We arrived at Fultons and they sat us in the back of the restaurant with all the other families, that was great because I wasnt worried if the little one got loud or cranky...there was a ton of kids there and they were not quiet either ha ha!
Todd and I had to get a drink so I had the Mai Tai with the 151 floater and over the course of dinner had a second one. Goodness this thing is incredible. Todd had the Spiked Lemonade and I have no idea what was in it but it was wonderful and he had a second one as well....costly but we needed the refueling!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22034.jpg
We all ate the hot bread and butter but DH and I polished off the crab dip and crackers...very oniony and no crab flavor
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22037.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22038.jpg
Todd and I each had a caesar salad, it was fantastic...cold and crisp and homemade croutons...YUUMMMM
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22036.jpg
The older one backed out of having crab and ordered the kids mac and cheese, she said it was the best and ate the entire bowl. (Better than the blue box she said!)
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22039.jpg
Todd had the king crab claws (thanks again KatMark) and was in heaven, crab heaven and he didnt want to share :rotfl:
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22040.jpg
I ordered the fried shrimp with the fried lobster tail but they brought it out steamed and had to redo the tail....here are the delicious shrimp, they were huge and I had to swap 2 for 2 of Todds claws!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22042.jpg
Here is the fried lobster, they brought out fries too but I didnt order them...the kids ate them and thought they were mushy.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22043.jpg
Mine came with sauteed spinach, squash and carrots so I was excited but so upset to see it smothered with red peppers..why does WDW put them in everything??? Heartburn city baby!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22041.jpg
We had a fun time shopping tonight!
I feel like this dining review is lacking for some reason...I want to take pics of the menus and forget...doing this MY way with kids is proving to be a very daunting task but I figure you guys will forgive me ;)
Tomorrow we have the Princess Breakfast and then CS somewhere for lunch and we are all super excited to eat at Coral Reef tomorrow night!

Ooooooh...I know what is coming next! I hope it was as good as the first time you went. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I cannot thank you enough for recommending this place...it is just amazing, we have been here twice and the food is outstanding, the service is the best I have ever had anywhere and yes it is pricey but soooo worth it!

I am so happy! And tell Todd he owes me BIG TIME. I don't know what he owes me, but I'll think of something. :rotfl:
And I think you are a terrific aunt for taking the girls. I'm hoping for warmer weather and less "tour groups" for you tomorrow.

I just want to take this moment to give all you guys that have kids a shout out...YOU ARE AMAZING!
How do you guys do it? I asked the 6 year old five times, do you have to go the bathroom...NO she says...then we get in line and she says I have to go the bathroom NOW! Do you have any idea how many times she did that to me??
Or swinging the chains in the ride lanes? Or not holding my hand in a crowd? Or being a picky eater? Or having a temper tantrum? Cant even sit next to my own husband, the little one keeps getting in the way ;) All these things that used to irk me as a non parental unit now I completely understand!
You guys are my heros...now I need another drink....where's the Tylenol??

He owes you a drink! We need to go at at the same time and drinks are on Todd! I hope it warms up, we have had the heat on in the room the last 3 days! Nothing like seeing the Volcano pool every morning and not being able to use it....poor kids are going nutty!

:rotfl: I don't even remember the last time I sat next to my husband! I have the kid thing figured out, for me the worst is when my MIL is with us. On our trip in September we spent soooo much time in the bathroom. 5 kids in the group could all go to the bathroom at the same time, but it NEVER failed, 15 minutes later the MIL would have to use the restroom!!!

Enjoy the rest of your trip with the girls, hug them often and have a nice relaxing drink or two at night. :thumbsup2

NICKI!!! We were at Fulton's last night too! I can't believe we missed you! We sat at the bar and had 2 Mai Tai's each...we needed them after the rough travel day w/DH and all his ailments. Had the great calamari, some oysters and yummy stone crab claws...
Oh well, maybe we will see you today at Epcot, I will be pushing DH in a wheelchair so keep your eyes open for us, I'll look for a tired auntie with a Grey Goose lemon slushie! :)
Hopefully it will be warmer today (we haven't ventured out and about yet...)

Nothing to write home about and if we were not with the kids we wouldnt have eaten there but it was decent and not BLECH at all....especially when you dip the pizza in Ranch dressing.....one of my best friends taught me that...she is from Long Island and said the pizza here is so bad the only way she can eat it is to dip it in dressing ha ha!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22027.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan22026.jpg
We hung out at HS until our FP for the Toy Story ride, and left around 5pm and decided to pop $10 for a cab to DTD instead of messing with transportation.
Hey I am from Long Island too and I put ranch dressing on dominoes and chucky cheese pizza!!I didn't know it was a geographical thing!!

I agree as well! We had dinner there and not only did we wait 45 minutes past our ADR time, (I know, it's not a reservation), but the food was horrible. My hubby had one plate and said he was ready to go and get CS back at the Poly. If it wouldn't have been for the characters it would have been even more disappointing.

Hello again everyone and thank you so much for spending your time reading my report!
I just have to tell you something about last night. We were all at DTD and I was paying for something with the older on, Adrianna, and the little one Kayla told Todd that she had something to show him so off they went. Well at that time my sister called so Adrianna and I were talking to her for about 15 minutes. When we went to find the other two they were laying on the floor with 2 other castmembers playing with the stuffed animals and Kayla was basically telling them all about her trip and her life and just about everything else!
It was so cute, she gave them both a hug and told me they were her new friends. Todd said she wanted to show him the baby dalmation but the last one that she saw was gone! She was so upset and one of the castmembers saw her and said, Princess whats wrong? So she told him about the dog, he told her to wait right there and he went and brought out a huge armful of those dogs (and of course I had to buy it) and then they started talking and another CM came by and they all hung out and had fun....these people were fantastic!
And another thing happened and it was the worst thing I have ever seen at WDW. We went to Epcot today and Todd and the older one went to TestTrack and Kayla and I went to meet the characters. There was a woman in line in front of us and was alone. We are there for about 10 minutes when there is a huge commotion and a SCREAMING kids was brought in the place in a stoller. He was very young and just crying like crazy and NO ONE was with him. Seemed a few people saw him in the stroller alone and reported it to a CM who wheeled him in out of the cold and they radioed for security. The woman who was in front of us freaked out and said hey thats my son what are you doing with him? The CM said this is your son, he was outside alone what are you doing in here? She said she wanted to see the characters and her husband was watching him. The CM said no he isnt around and we have security taking your son to the office. She said hold on let me call my DH and SHE DIDNT GET OUT OF THE LINE ONCE! The security guy said ma'am get out of the line please (by now everyone in the line is getting really hot and saying alot of things about this woman). She tells the guy to hand her the baby...the security guy looked stunned and at that time the husband comes in, takes the baby and the woman IS STILL IN LINE, BY HERSELF! A bunch of us cut her and walked away because it was a really bad scene.....even now the sight of that poor screaming baby is freaking me out.

That poor baby. To think meeting characters would trump this woman's child. Unbelievable :sad2: I am also stunned.

What a terrific story. And you read so many complaints about CM's lately. What a great group. And what a nice Auntie to buy her a dog.
Why does this not surprise me? I have seen this a couple of times while at Disney--parents just leaving their child unattended or not paying any attention and thinking of only themselves.

This morning we were all up bright and early for our Princess Breakfast. It was super cold and we walked to the TTC from the Poly and the kids saw frost on the grass for the first time ever!
Here they are all bundled up...this is a ridiculous hat but helps us find her in a crowd.

Kayla with the puppy from last night
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23003.jpg
Lucky us we were the first ones there and got to ride in the front of the monorail..it was nice and warm! Got into Epcot super fast and trotted over to Norway for our breakfast.
First off the music in there was loud, like blow your ears off loud and the CM said they apologize for it, they were trying to repair it for 2 days...hmm WDW and they cannot fix the music?
So we meet with Belle and were seated right away...served cold weak coffee, hot cocoa and warm OJ....we let our server know and he replaced the coffee and the juice....second time around it was perfect. We all helped ourself to the buffet, croissants (really good), lingonberry muffins (Kayla pigged out and had 3), cinnamon buns (amazing), lingonberry danish (the best thing on the entire buffet), lox and the fixings, fantastic strawberries, grapes, melons, pineapple and cheese and salami which the older one couldnt get enough of.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23014.jpg
Then we had the platter of food (which we had 3 off...if it is one meal these kids love its breakfast and that is fine with me as long as they eat). The eggs were incredible (get it, incredible edible egg?) and the potatoes were amazing. Crispy bacon and spicy sausage, whats not to love?
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23015.jpg
I also asked if the kids could get french toast or something and our wonderful server said they could get pancakes. The kids said they were just ok, a bit overcooked for them.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23016.jpg
We saw Mary Poppins first, then Aurora (she almost skipped us by accident but the waiter caught it and made sure she came over and she spent a lot of time with Kayla), Jasmine and Snow White. Everything about this meal, from the food to the terrific character interaction was perfect and I would not hesitate to eat here again, with or without the kids...I saw Todd giving Jasmine the eye...then I flashed him MY EYE and he went back to his plate of eggs!
If you have kids, boys and girls, they will adore this place!

We had a great morning, made it to Soarin twice and got FP, went to TT twice, saw everything there was to see. Lots of crowds and sadly, the Brazilian groups were there again, chanting, clapping and just being a huge irritant.
Lunchtime called so the little one got McDs again, hey at least she eats the 6 piece but was bummed no apples just fries. She insisted on a picture for you guys. DH had to block her from the birds...why cant WDW do something about them? There are hundreds of seagulls and they are mean and nasty!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23036.jpg
Todd and I knew we had to get to Tangierine Cafe...it was perfect as Moroccan was playing at the new location to the side of the bathrooms so the kids danced for a bit. We had a nice booth and Kayla napped while we pigged out. Of course I had the .....falafel wrap! Just fantastic, love the couscous here, totally perfect meal.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23038.jpg
DH branched out and ordered the chicken schawarma platter...omigod, can you say HEAVEN ON A PLATE?? We never had this before but I have to tell you this is our go to meal every time for Epcot...unbelivable! The chicken had so much flavor and was so moist. To die for taboulleh and couscous and the hummus is out of this world. He loves the olive salad too.

Over to Germany for some gummies for the kids, finished walking around the countries..no booze for me this time since I was too full from lunch! I totally made up for it at dinner.

DING DING DING dinner time!
I had planned on Coral Reef for dinner because the girls like the aquarium so much. We were seated within minutes of checking in, top tier right in the middle with a beautiful view of the tank.
So the natives were getting very very restless, DH included. First things up, get them each a drink, coke and ice tea. Then bring on the bread and stuff their faces. Awesome bread, we had three baskets (hey at least they were eating!) and the oil/balsamic vinegar dip was great!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23051.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23052.jpg
Yes that is my Magical Star cocktail you see there, what you dont see are the other empty glasses that came later. I think the girls are trying to get me drunk because they want to get the light up cubes from my glass...so they keep pestering me to order another one...ok no complaints just roll me outta here! DH had the Octopus Juice, a pina colada with chambord...sooo yummy!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23053.jpg
The kids were so difficult...the older one wanted a shrimp dish...the waitress said they do not have shrimp..I said you have 3 grilled shrimp appies can you just grill up some shrimp and put it on a plate? I dont care how much it costs! She said no, DH was nuts and said please check with the chef....she came out and said he could give her 4 shrimp and fries for $11.95....and then Adrianna says she changed her mind and just wants pizza....Ok Nic, relax and take a nice big gulp of that cocktail and breathe, just breathe.
Ok please give each kids pizza, fries and the build it yourself sundae. Kids ate the pizza but said the fries were awful...and they were right they were cold and mushy and nasty.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23056.jpg
DH and I shared the most wonderful delish caesar salad, it was better than Fultons last night!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23055.jpg
Todd had the NY Strip and said it was just eh. He said FF had a much better steak and this one didnt wow him. He loved the potatoes though
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23058.jpg
I had the seasonal catch, grouper that was pan seared with wild mushroom and scallop risotto with a celery root nage finish and parsley truffle oil. The fish and the sauce was to die for, just wonderful and I was a very very very happy girl. The risotto would have been just perfect if it wasnt so salty. Other than that I loved my dish.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23057.jpg
For dessert the kids had a great time with the sundae and they ate it all. A decent size scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, sprinkles and M&M's
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23060.jpg
Todd and I shared the butterscotch creme brulee...OMIGOD if you like butterscotch you have to order this, pure indulgence on a plate...wow it was so good! DH also had a pathetic cup of coffee...WDW should not call their coffee COFFEE, they should call it brown water with no taste.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan23061.jpg

Now tomorrow we have a very early Ohana breakfast, then DH is sending me to MK with the kids without him....seems the wimp cant take WDW with the girls and his legs "Dont want to move anymore" Oh come on! Kayla is 6 and she can do it!
So if he does ditch me I am so screwed...and MK has no booze people...what am I going to do?
For lunch I think we will go to CHH and if DH stays behind he will call room service...what a skunk! I want to lay around and order room service! Hmmm that gives me a great idea...RENT -A- PARENT! Hire parent stand ins to take kids to the parks and let the real parents relax!
We will leave the park around 2, hang by they pool since it is supposed to be warm and have dinner at Kona. Tomorrow is our last full day so I have to get their butts in the Volcano pool or I will never hear the end of it!
One more thing I forgot to tell you....in the last 3 days all the parks we went to they have the survey people asking you questions but this time they are asking you about the cleanliness of the parks, bathrooms, restaurants, are we seeing park attendants etc...and DH and I noticed yesterday and today the bathrooms are gross, there is a lot of litter around and no one picking it up, there are not as many CM's as we usually see....and there is still alot of Xmas cups, napkins, and some plates at the CS places....the most Celebration merchandise we saw was today at Epcot...the rest of the place does not look to be celebrating. Capt Cooks are still selling the old 08 mugs, no sign of the new ones yet....which stinks since they are trying to promote the new theme.
Also at Epcot three rides were constantly breaking down. Many stations at Club Cool are out of service, the customize your soda bottle at Club Cool is not working either and out of order sign is on them...the older one wanted to do it but the CM said sorry it was broken...DH was so mad he said than remove the items or put a sign on it so others do not know they cannot have what they see.
Then on the way home the monorail going to the resorts was broken down and they had no idea when it would be fixed so we had to walk and carry the little one...that is NO FUN AT ALL!
Goodnight all!

Your nieces are precious!!! You will have fun tomorrow at MK! Just go with the flow and don't get too stressed!
The lack of cleanliness of WDW concerns me! That is one of the reasons we love going there, so if they are sacrificing upkeep in light of trying to save money that really worries me. :scared:

You know... I bet they have some vodka nips at the store at Poly... I've heard that the dole whip float with Vodka is good.... LOL!
I cannot believe some people, leave your kid, and go on a ride alone? That's just very poor parenting. makes me sick.

I hope if they're surveying about it that means they're willing to step back up to higher standards. We were a little disappointed in December, trash cans/ash trays overflowing, bathrooms weren't in the best shape. It wasn't the level I expect from Disney :sad2:

I know you liked your entree at Coral Reef, but overall did you think the entire meal was worth the money? We haven't been there in years (since they had the peanut butter playdough for dessert--if anyone remembers that far back  ) My kids aren't into aquariums, so if we went, it would have to be for the food & service.
Can't wait for the next update, we haven't been to Ohana's or Kona for a very long time.
Don't worry, you'll be fine at MK by yourself today. It may even be easier because there isn't a "good cop" for the girls to run to. It's Disney World, it's Magic Kingdom, go have fun! I'm sure it will be magical for the 3 Princesses today pixiedust:

OMGosh!!!!!! WHY haven't I seen this thing around? I LOVE Chambord!!!! (It looks so yummy!!!!) MMM, gonna have to go in Coral Reef for some appies and booze!!! LOL!
You know... I bet they have some vodka nips at the store at Poly... I've heard that the dole whip float with Vodka is good.... LOL!
I cannot believe some people, leave your kid, and go on a ride alone? That's just very poor parenting. makes me sick.
When are you all going to TH breakfast? I thought it was this trip???
It looks like Cait and I will be going to Akershus... the breakfast looks yummy! Thanks for all of the pictures! (And Tangerine Cafe was already on my list of CS places to go... I love Chicken Shawirma!)
Cait will love it! Never to old for the Princesses! Well I had to cancel the TH breakfast, you will see why in a minute.
Um for me Coral Reef was a dead hit right on, I really enjoyed it! For Todd he liked everything but the steak...so maybe if we go another time he will try the pork....he isnt a huge fish eater, one or two bites is good for him. The kids loved looking at the tank and the divers and the HUMONGOUS Crush turtle. I would like to go back but I think DH prefers the countries instead.
Loving the reviews. Subscribing:)
Thanks!
Tell the girls they are soooo cute! And I LOVE the hat :) They are really adorable Nicki :flower3:
Now you have me wanting to try Akershus for breakfast! The food looks really good.
They are such great little kids!

Oh you guys, I knew it was going to happen, I could just feel it...I was too lucky for too long...I dealt with going number 2 and wiping little yucky noses but the worst, the gawd awful thing that could possibly happen to someone like me happened....I had to deal with......SICKNESS! You know the kind, the kid wakes you up at 1am and was sick in the bed?
Me, the one that has zero kids, the one that can get sick just thinking about it had to deal with the worst event ever...comforting a very sick little 6 year old while trying not to be ill herself.
At one am Kayla woke me up, poor little thing. Todd, again no kid experience here either, called Mousekeeping and I took her in the bathroom. Mousekeeping is fantastic, they stripped the bed, brought in a cleaner to take care of the mattress and the carpet.
This happened again at 3 and again at 4:30....again Mousekeeping couldnt be more understanding and accommodating and were at our room within 10 minutes with more sheets, towels and everything else. They came by around 9am to tell us they will clean the carpets completely and change the mattress at noon today. THe poor CM that came to our rescue was amazing, he said there were 2 other little ones in our building that had the same problem too. Todd kept tipping him $20 for his troubles, trust me he was totally worth it....I wouldnt want to do it.
It has to be the very cold weather, the excitement of the trip, the food and stuff too. So now she is on a water and dry cereal diet...had to skip the Ohana breakfast and I cancelled the TH breakfast too because that is just too much for her to handle. We are still in PJ's this morning, have to love my DH who went to the food court to get us some bagels and coffee (I need it no matter how terrible it is). I think I had 4 hours of sleep total, Todd maybe 6. The little one woke up and said she feels so much better.
So now I have no idea what we are doing today. Maybe go to MK around noon for a few hours? Should I keep the Kona dinner and if so what should I feed her so we do not have a repeat of last night? How about lunch....what should she eat?
She says she wants to go swimming, is it safe to let her?
Sorry for all the questions but I am at a loss here and my sister is ZERO help to me right now...she is doing nothing but giving me grief and major attitude. Can you believe she wants me to take pics of them on rides and niot with charcters and general pics? How am I supposed to do that? THis is not a fair ground park where I can stay off to the side and snap pictures, this place is packed and I am on the ride with them.....I swear she is making this so hard on me!
Todd just got back with bagels and coffee...and they were pretty good but forgive me no pics of these ha ha

If it were me and she had sniffles yesterday I would skip the pool. What is the temperature outside? Maybe the food court has some chicken noodle soup or saltine crackers. it might be just a 24 hour bug that is going around and chances are her stomach does feel better.
I would see how she feels later but she should be ok to go to Kona I would think.
MK should be ok too.
Good Luck!!!
I hope she feels better and you too.

First, take a deep breath (you may need to step outside to do that) Ok, now relax, it will all be fine
Have Kayla take it easy this morning, make sure she's drinking--that's more important than food. If she really wants to eat something, let her. Somethings sound like the worst possible thing to eat with an upset stomach, but I've learned with my kids that their bodies tell them what they need/want. Just have her eat a small amount at first, if it sits well then she can have more. I wouldn't cancel dinner yet, these stomach bugs can pass quickly and she may be completely fine in a couple of hours. She may or may not want to eat much, but the rest of you will need to anyways.
As for swimming, as long as she's feeling better; hasn't thrown up in a few hours & isn't running a fever, I'd let her. Hopefully you'll both be able to take a nap and feel all better soon :goodvibes

Yikes! You poor thing! I agree. See how she is today and take it easy. If she is up to food then I think you will be okay at Kona. I'm sure if you ask they could make something very bland for her if she needs to. Maybe some plain rice...
Is it warm enough to swim down there now?

Hopefully we will end the day at MK and no more repeat perfomances of last night! Will post whatever we eat today later tonight.

Yuk! I sure hope it's over for her and she's all better now!! As for food, the idea of chicken noodle soup is a good one. Bread should be fine, maybe applesauce, some plain rice? I would think Kona would have all of those, they should be accomodating. If she's fine all day today, though, and is able to keep down some basic stuff for lunch, and wants to eat a regular meal for dinner, it should probably fine. I'd just stay away from anything spicy or letting her stuff herself. Oh, and I'd avoid milk/dairy for at least today.

Awwww Nicki :grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear about your awful night. Its so difficult to try and be supportive and caring to children when they are sick and in your head you are freaking out. Sounds like you did an excellent job though!
Kona should be perfectly fine. They have fantastic bread (very good to absorb some of the acid in her tummy...gross but true!) And they used to have yummy chicken noodle soup. The chef at Kona is outstanding and will bend over backwards to accomodate people. He always comes out to our table and has made us off menu items before, so never fear its a great choice. :thumbsup2
Stay calm, take deep breaths and remember that kids are insanely resilient, they bounce right back from these things faster than you can imagine.

From a mom of 2...Thank you!:rotfl: I tell my husband that we'll get to know each other again someday!:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your advice and wishes for Kayla!
Well our morning started off very late, we all needed the sleep and rest so that is exactly what we did. Around 11 am Kayla decided she was up to the pool so we all put on our suits and off we went. I called housekeeping to let them know that we would be out of our room for a while....I saw them bringing in a new mattress around noon and they had the carpets completely cleaned and all new linens for both beds...again I cannot praise the staff at the Poly....even the housekeeper left a note to Kayla saying she hoped she felt much better today!
So we went to the pool and it was a beautiful day...started off cold but warmed up fast. She went in the water for about 30 minutes and then she and her Uncle Todd went to build sandcastles in the sand while the older one and I went on the slide and chilled in the pool with girl talk. Kayla fell asleep on the lounge chair for an hour and then in the hammock with DH for a bit. She had her dry cereal and was happy with that, the older one and I went to the food court to get Todd and I some lunch..Adrianna had the same cupcake as the other day and said it was great, I ordered the Lo Mein and BBQ pork sandwich for Todd and I to split.
The lo mein was incredible, noodles were perfectly cooked, the chicken was melt in your mouth and the sauce was awesome....totally worth stopping in here for lunch even if you are not staying at the Poly.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24024.jpg
The BBQ Pork sandwich was humongous and very good! The homemade Poly chips are sooo good we fought over them, some were wonton like, others were sweet potato and regular potato! The pork was very tender, melted in your mouth...nice tangy sauce with fresh pineapple, cucumber and tomato....awesome!

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24026.jpg
DH and I scarfed down lunch and we hung out at the beach for a while, it was a great day for all of us, we needed to recharge and enjoy the warm weather. After a bit Todd needed a water so he came back with a Mickey Bar and a banana...here is what he came up with...take a bite of the mickey bar and then a bite of the banana and eat at the same time...it is SO AWESOME!!! The best concoction ever!

Around 3 we went in to take our showers and get ready for MK. Kayla wants spaghetti but Todd called the Poly and they do not have that on hand. I got on line and saw that the new CS place in CR has a pasta marinara...so we took the monorail over there and both kids had the little pasta hats (had to call them that or the kids would not eat them) plain with the sauce on the side. They loved it and ate the entire thing! PERFECT!! For 6 bucks this was a great deal!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24033.jpg
Here are some pics of the desserts at the new CS place.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24032.jpg
We made it over to MK around 5:30 and did all of Adventureland...the egg roll stand was open so Todd had to have an eggroll (blech from me and YUMMO from him) and the older one had to get the corndog, she loves them!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24056.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24052.jpg
We did all of Frontierland and headed to the HM...DH and I had to eat so we went to CHH. I tried the Tuna sandwich back in Aug and it had pickle relish in it...I am SO HAPPY to report that it NO LONGER DOES! The sandwich was the best thing I have had this trip! The bread is lightly toasted and nice and grainy, the tuna was perfect...I cannot wait to go back and get it again!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24061.jpg
Todd tried the Veggie chili and said it was great, and it was..tons of veggies and tons of flavor!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24058.jpg
He also had the BLT chicken salad, omigod it was sooooo tasty! Nice mixed greens with crispy bacon, not bits but REAL BACON! Awesome chicken nuggets too and when mixed with ranch dressing it was just wowza, so awesome!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24060.jpg
Now we are torn, which to do, Cosmic Rays or CHH?? Hmmm maybe both and skip a TS in MK!
On the way out DH had to get some fudge and they were making candy apples on Main Street...smelled like heaven
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24059.jpg
Headed back to the Poly and I was getting our PhotoPass pictures (just and FYI if you lose you Photopass they can find it for you..just tell them the exact day, time and place that you used it and they will search all the pics taken until they find yours....all they need is one picture and boom...they have your lost pass and they can combine it with the other pass...how I know this is I lost the pass yesterday and was so upset!)
Met up with Todd and the kids and he was a doll baby and ordered me the drink that I love and a Bahama Mama for him. Thing is, we cannot just have one, we have to have 2 and so we did...and they were the perfect end to a very nice day.
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan24064.jpg
We leave tomorrow, we are all sad about it because we are having such a good time! Plans have changed and instead of TH at AK I booked a Kona breakfast (may cancel for the TS instead) and then we are going to check out of the room early and drive to AK and stay until 3pm....lunch at the AK park but I dont know what yet!
DH and I are planning on coming back in March at the POFQ but I just changed it back to the Poly because the food, the service and the room has been fantastic...the best CM service we have every experienced and it has been the time of our lives staying here...now we need to do it sans the kiddos! The little one is already asking when we are going back to our Hawaii house! I cannot tell you how many leis they have going home with them!
Have a good night everyone, I have to go pack up their loot!

Great reviews! I went to Crystal Palace on my last trip and LOVED it. The puffed french toast was fabulous! Sorry 1900 Park Fare was a bummer. I was thinking of trying breakfast there on my next trip but I think I'm gonna skip that one now, yuck.
Fulton's looks really yummy... I had actually thought about booking there for my wedding reception luncheon (our wedding was in WDW) but chose Portobello Yacht Club instead. I loved Portobello, but it looks like Fulton's would have been awesome, too. I am going to have to try to book dinner there for our next trip.
I'm glad you guys (mostly) enjoyed Coral Reef. It's one of my favorites. The potatoes the came with the steak are different than what I had. Mine came with au gratin, but I think I would like the roasted ones better. I'm glad they changed that. Next time I go though, I might try what you ordered. (If it's still on the menu.) It looks fantastic. And I am definitely trying the Octopus Juice next time!
Your nieces are just adorable! I'm sorry the little one has been so sick. That must be so stressful. I don't have any kids (yet) either, and I know I would be panicking, trying to deal with a sick kid! Sounds like you guys are doing a great job, though.
Can't wait for your final reviews!

Well I did learn my lesson..with these kids CS is the best way to go, maybe one or two TS breakfasts but that is it!
Just got caught up. So glad that Kayla is feeling better. Having a sick child is no fun! Especially when you're not used to handling it. But it sounds like you handled the situation like a pro! Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip!!!!
Thank you, we did!
Glad to hear Kayla is feeling better and that you had such a nice day yesterday!! You are making me want to stay at the Poly for our next trip!! My husband says no though because they don't have a hot tub. (They didn't happen to put one in while you were there, did they!?!?!? ;) )
No hot tub but at the Volcano pool there is a section by the slide that has about 6 strong spa jets....that is good enough for DH now!
Can't wait for your final reviews!
That Octopus Juice was awesome, I would go back for that!
Ah, you're going back to Poly, instead of POFQ? Are you going to be staying CL? (just wondering... ;) ~ you know where I'm going with that question... :rotfl: )
I'm looking forward to hearing more!
I wish it was CL but they only have the Princess Suite and Todd said although I AM a Princess he doesnt have a Prince salary!

So glad Kayla is feeling better. I dream of one day staying at the Poly.:goodvibes
Thanks she is much better...you should try to get to the Poly one day for drinks at the Tambu Lounge....that is a great experience!

Oh no! I hope YOU are feeling better!
So glad Kayla is feeling better! What a great aunt you are!:thumbsup2

We are home! I am kinda sad and kinda glad about that!
This morning I cancelled Kona because the kids were so tired, no sense making them get up early just so I can have the macadamia nut pancakes and pressed pot coffee...there is always time for that on the next trip!
The girls and Todd slept in while I went to Capt Cooks. Two boxes of Fruit Loops for Kayla (one for lunch just in case), the kids french toast for Adrianna, cheese danish for DH and a cinnamon bun for me.
Na said the breakfast was very good
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan25003.jpg
The cinnamon bun was so fresh and soft, just perfect!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan25002.jpg
Todd said the cheese danish was AWESOME, heavy on the cheese and light on the danish!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan25001.jpg
We checked out of the room and the kids were so sad, they wanted to stay for a few more days! They are also asking when can they go back and can they stay in the same room!
We made it to AK for the 9am opening and it was a cool morning but not cold and the sun was out. The park was very crowded but we did a walk on for everything. First up was the Safari, lots of animals out there. On the way to Asia I had to get a frozen chai....these things are incredible and totally worth going to AK just for them! Na had a raspberry ice tea and Kayla had a huge blueberry muffin.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan25009.jpg
I think the most fun thing for them was the Nemo show...the little one LOVED it! We had seats three rows from the front, it was PERFECT! We walked on Its Tough to Be a Bug and the Dino ride too.
DH and I were starving around 1 so we went to Flame Tree BBQ...been a few years since we ate here and it was just fantastic! The food was soooo good! Todd had the BBQ beef and I had the BBQ pork, he ate the beans and cole slaw and we shared the most delish onion rings ever! We love this place! I know we will be back in Oct for lunch here again and a frozen chai too!
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/nicsgtp/Jan25019.jpg
On the way out the girls had popcorn and Todd had a Mickey Bar....the perfect end to a great vacation! Nice quiet ride home, we played WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART the entire way home. Na's was Rockin Roller Coaster and Kayla's was Tutle Talk with Crush. The girls were sad when we dropped them off, lots of hugs and kisses and see you laters (we live 20 minutes from them).
Thanks for reading everyone, now just 39 more days until we go Live, the adult only version of a dining report from the Poly! Stick around! We have dinner plans for Le Cellier, Tonys at MK, San Angel Inn, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickeys breakfast and who knows what for CS!

I have had a hankering to stay at the Poly for a while now and you have totally reinforced that!
I am literally marking my calendar so I can be on the lookout for your next TR. Your plans sound great!!

Breakfast at Captain Cooks looked good. I've heard they have Tonga Toast, did you see it on the menu? is it the same as Kona's? If I were to head to the Poly for breakfast, I'd just go to Kona's but DS would probably be willing to swing by for a quick order.
Glad you enjoyed Flame Tree! We always enjoy it (I don't like their beans though). The onion rings looked really good :thumbsup2 I'm gonna have to try one of those frozen chai's this summer.
Thanks for another awesome report! I'll be watching :hourglass until it's time for you & Todd to :drive: back to the World :goodvibes
