Hi Everyone - it has been awhile, but Im back again. Our last trip was September and with the temperatures so low we are planning our next visit for April. This would be the first "spring break" trip for us. I am worried about the crowds and would love some feedback. We normally visit during fall or winter. Our kids are off the week before Easter (as oppose to after)if this helps us at all. Im just not sure we'll be happy if lines are out of control. We appreciate any info. We can always count on the boards for the best advice!!

Hi,

Most Spring Break crowds are in March, but if you are planning to go either the week leading up to Easter or Easter week you will be in for very large crowds. Other than that, April crowds are manageable.

We also have our Spring Break the week before Easter and that is when we will be going. I've gone before during Spring Break and as long as you have a plan of attack, you should be ok. We make a list of 3 must do's at each park and take advantage of the EMH to accomplish those. We try to have an itinerary of what we what to do at each park and plan our days at those parks according to the EMH.

The parks can be very busy from about 11-5pm so if you can get there early, go back to your room, relax and then go back at night, it is less stressful.

Thanks for the good advice - we are in Pa and the kids are off April 7th thru the 14th. So strange how everyones breaks are different!

I always judge the peak times by the number of points it takes me to book a vacation through our DVC. The points go up the first week of March and stay up til May 1st. You can pretty much expect all of March and April to be pretty crowded...but like another person said if you have a plan then the crowds aren't so bad. We are choosing to let our kids miss a week of school and going the first week of May to avoid the crowds.

My son's spring break is from April 9-19, I don't understand why it's so long:confused3 Then 10 days after he goes back to school we will be taking him out for another 6 days for our vacation:rolleyes1 (he's in kindergarten).

Well, we were planning on going April 7th to the 13th, but we have changed our minds. We are so use to doing Disney in the fall/winter that I don't think we could handle the crowds. We are thinking of early June now or just holding off till fall.

Its so nice when the kids are little. You really don't have to worry about them missing some school. My older children are 10, 12 and 14 so I just can't have them missing a weeks worth of work anymore. Oh how I miss the good old days! Enjoy your trip!!!

The last 2 years, we have gone the first week of April. Yes it is busy, busy, busy. But, we had 2 wonderful trips. The weather was awesome (only 1 rainy day). Have a plan and go w/the flow. We did early Magic Hours, fast passes & were out of parks most days by lunch. Then, we relaxed or swam and went to another park for dinner and evening activities. Have ADR, because they are a must if you want a sit down or character meal. Good luck & have a great trip.

A large party of Michigan is off 4/6-4/13, That is when we are going along with everyone else. I was sorried about the crowds but now that the 4/3 deal was opened up for that week and I saved so much $$$ off of our original price. I am fine - we are going to Dinsey with extra $$ to blow. YEAH!!!!!!

:wave2: We were in WDW last April 10-18. The weather was great, sun most days with a day or two of thunderstorms. The crowds were not too bad. Make use of the fast passes whenever possible. Plan ahead as to making dining reservations before you leave home as we found a few places we wanted to try spur of moment were not available until later in the evening. I am always amazed though at how many people anytime of the year WDW draws. We have been going to WDW for over 20 years and the only time I can remember it being very light crowds was in Dec. right after 9-11. HAve fun!!

It sounds like she took advantage of the offer by disney where you book 4nights with passes and get three nights with passes free. Good deal!

We originally booked our trip last year at full price (with a slight AAA discount). When the 4/3 deal came out it was not available for Easter week. Now even though the web site still says it si blocked out - if you go in under 4/3 deal link and make your reservation there you can get the 4/3 deal. It is a huge savings.

Melissa did you book the 4/3 deal for easter week?

Well I know spring break in my town is in march so I would say that lines would be rather slow, but you never know. My mother and I went the week before Christmas and it wasn't as crowded... I would recommend if you do go to get on the Dining Plan. It saved my mother and I over $600.00. For 5 days. It would save tons of money.... If yo uhave any questions reply and i will answer.

I didn't see anyone mention our exact week- It seems you all are either overlapping the last half or first half- We are going to be there
April 12th-16th Sunday through check out Thursday- Kids will technically start Spring Break when they get out of school the week prior and don't return until April 20th! We did have 3 snow days here- Hope that doesn't affect their break- BUT, if it does... My ressies have been made since last October! We hope it isn't overly crowded but from other reports here about crowds- It looks to be about same as Carowinds or Kings Dominion when we went- No big difference- Down time seems to be completely different- I don't recall "down time" at Carowinds or KD but they are not open all year either...
