Hi,
I am new to this site, and new to camping.
We are going to FW in Feb, I can't wait!!
I have been looking all around the posts and pictures here, they are great!
I was wondering about the Mickey lamp post that I've seen beside the campers in some pictures, is that something that is at the campground?
If not, can you buy it somewhere?
Thanks for all the helpful info here on your site.

No, the Mickey lamps are all home-made creations. There is a cast Mickey face lamp that is/was available from J.C.Penny (of all places!), but I suspect you mean the popular tri-globe lamps.

Yes, I have seen soooo, many in pictures it is hard to believe they have all been home-made.
Way to go!
I hope I can talk my DH into trying something like that,:rolleyes2 one day :)

They are not that difficult and you can get all the supplies at Home Depot.

Not my Home Depot! Sure wish that were universally true. I had to order my large globe online through an Amazon partner.

OK, you can get them at my Home Depot. You can also have the Home Depot ship it to your Home Depot.

Yeah, I've tried that as well. A fellow I met at the Fort gave me manufacturers numbers and prices for the parts from his local Home Depot. I took that info to my Home Depot and they initially said they could not get these parts. I was giving them the info from other HD's and they were saying it wasn't in their system. After literally an hour of trying they made the right phone call and were able to special order them. Sure, the prices were 40% higher than my friend quoted that he could get them for locally, but sure, let's order them. I placed the order in mid-December and in mid-January they call me telling me the 12" globes are back-ordered to March... "would you like to cancel, Sir?"! I'm just saying, things are seldom as simple as it seems they should be! At least when I bought my last one through Amazon I got it within a week.

And then you should have pm'ed me and I would have sent you one the next day. :thumbsup2 (although you probably didn't know this at the time....;) )
I guess Home Depots in NC don't run as smoothly up there. I have received several Auburn items from stores in Atlanta (because they only carry reptile, windlover and indian junk here) and it gets here within a week. I have also ordered other items from other stores that I have seen on the internet with no problems what-so-ever. I guess it is where you stay.

Cha ching on Special Orders. Did you have SKU numbers or UPC's? It can be tough to find an item in a different market without a SKU. Sorry you had so much trouble. :confused3

Yeah, no SKU, not even the UPC but rather the manufacturer's own product number as best I can tell. If y'all happen to have SKUs for 12" globes and the globe adapter I would be most grateful.

Shan, where did you get that Christmas ticker? I gotta have one of those!

Both of my tickers are from MickeyPath.com. Just a tip: if you ever wonder about something like that, just right-click it and copy the image address, then paste that in your URL bar and you'll see the domain name as the first part of the address. For instance, I can see that your siggy-piggy is hosted by Denise in her PhotoBucket account!

SKU 348480 UPC 022678331569 Part #CP1721P

The 12" globe is located (in our store) with the replacement post parts which is on the outdoor lighting aisle. The globe fitter is in the same section.
The 6" globes are located in what we call the Fan Cloud, where all the ceiling fans are. They are with the replacement globe area.
We also carry an 8" globe in case anyone is looking for those.
Hope this helps.
By the way, a couple of the guys saw the picture I took in this AM and they want to build one for the store.....oh boy!!!!:confused3

Whoops. Forgot to tell you the picture is for a black globe fitter and the other info was for a white globe fitter.
All available at your friendly Home Depot. :cool1:

Can I just say... YOU ROCK!!! Thanks so much. The stores around me only carry the 6" acrylic globes (in the "fan cloud"). The numbers for the 12" and fitter should be a big help! Thanks so much.

You are welcome. In case you local Home Depot doesn't carry the items you need, they can do a Remote SKU lookup and should be able to find the nearest HD that does carry them, then transfer them in for you OR I made sure to get Adjusta Post address and 800 number in the pic for you.

Good luck. :thumbsup2
