No kidding! I just finally gave up and decided to start again after we get home. Between the candy buffet, loaded baked potato soup, and a trip to Pooh's Corner, I'm gonna be in trouble!

Can you believe I have NEVER been to Pooh's Corner? Not sure why, but we never make it over there........ I guess I'm going to have to make sure I do this time. My DS and my nephews are asking me to bring them back a Tigger tail. I guess, since I get to go to DL and they get to go to school, it's the least I can do :rolleyes1

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I was so eager to try a Tigger Tail and when I finally did...........blech! I didn't like it at all. :sad2:
But fortunately Pooh's Corner has many other yummy treats to choose from. :thumbsup2

I didn't like it either--but I'm not a big marshmallow fan.

Now give me a chocolate/caramel covered pretzel and I'm soooo happy.

Oh, and we tried an Apple Pie Caramel Apple the last time a bunch of us were together and it was absolutely delish!

I loved the Apple Pie apple, but since I've had so much work done on my teeth, I'm not sure I can eat those anymore. I'll be sticking to soft things, maybe some ice cream or shakes.

I don't think everything is gonna fit in my suitcases.

:lmao: OMG, don't even get me started on that!! I've warned Amy that I am going to take up most of the space in the SUV with my stuff alone. :rolleyes1 Well, I'm bringing my candy, plus Heather's and Becci's. I've got a box of stuff for January I'm bringing for her. And Diet Pepsi for four people. :rotfl2:
I offered to do it so it's not a big deal, but Amy and Jane are going to think I'm some kind of diva with all my luggage!! :rotfl:

It's not that my husband isn't capable of doing all this himself. It's that I can't let go of the need to control everything and make sure it's all going as smoothly as possible while I'm gone.
Plus, like I said, it's keeping me busy for now. :thumbsup2

My husband would kill me if I tried that. He's like, "Get out, have fun, see ya when you get back". If I try to organize and prepare for him, he gets offended. So, I just go with that. Of course the house is a disaster when I get home! He has gotten better about being able to manage the kid's real life when I am gone, like playdates and whatnot.

My DH is planning a trip to the zoo and taking Maddie fishing. I think he is excited that I am going. They can have daddy-daughter time.

I also took a que from Beth. For each day that I am gone, DH is going to give DD a treat from me. So far I have a mini-tub of cotton candy and a pretend iPod with Tink on it. It is a plastic FM radio. I am going to hit up the Dollar Tree and get her some markers and a little Barbie-type doll for the other days I am gone. I am going to miss my little peanut...but I need some mommy time!:thumbsup2

I have never done the master cleanse or evercleanse. But I did try the Hollywood Juice diet. Its a bottle of juice and you drink that for two days and water only. Then the thrid or fourth day the fireworks start. Don't take a long trip after doing the juice. But its an easy way to drip 10 pounds.

So you don't get exhausted, and you can fully recover, you should just pull out what you are going to wear and ask Ruben or maybe the kids to help you pack. I do that for my mom when she and my dad have their "getaways" (like twice a year) so that she can get ready and they can TRY and leave on time.

They had a mini getaway last weekend Friday - Saturday. When they got home Saturday night I found out they were at the Valencia Hyatt, which was IN town  I guess they just needed to get away from us kids. Well we had a good time without them at Chuck e. Cheese :snooty:

I am sure Stacie will write her hysterical take on the trip!! I only stayed Thrsday through dinner time Saturday, but let me say, the trip was a blast!!! Since this is the second year, some of last years kinks were worked out!!

The Thursday night party was amazing. The planners, Cheryl, Stacie and Michelle out did themselves. The room was decorated and festive. There was tons of beverage, we played a game to get to know one another..(which I totally stunk at since I kept chatting rather than playing), the tote exchange...it was all wonderful.

I would also like to add a disclaimer at this time, I was not nearly as obnoxious as will be reported during the tote exchange. I'd had one beer, one jello shot....and I was a wee enthusiastic, but I am sure reports will be exaggerated!!!!:thumbsup2  :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I met tons of people, did a lot of stuff, the scavenger hunt was a particular delight, fun. PFF with tiaras also a high point. Oh, I could go on and on and on!!

So, to sum it up, it WAS ALL GOOD!!!!

Ok, so I am starting to go over my notes from the trip in hopes to get my trip report done as soon as possible. I need everyone's help though. I don't want to leave anything out. I spent time with many different ladies and doing tons of different things, so I am sure that I may have missed a few things. So if I was with you when something funny, memorable, or just to diva happened, PM me to remind me. I may already have it in my notes, but then again, I may have forgotten to note it. I will make sure to clear out my PM's even. Thanks!

I don't do funny like you do. :worship:

Can't wait for this trip report to get started. Glad to see that you guys had/are having a blast.Thanks. It was so much fun. Everything really came together and went very smoothly this trip. The first one was sooooo HOT and crowded. It made it hard to really have fun when it's like that, kwim?
But this time, it was not overly crowded, in fact the first two days were perfect. And while it was a bit chilly at night, the weather during the day was sunny and nice. Not hot at all. :)

So if I was with you when something funny, memorable, or just to diva happened, PM me to remind me. I may already have it in my notes, but then again, I may have forgotten to note it. I will make sure to clear out my PM's even. Thanks!I didn't even take notes of my own!! If anyone has followed my other TRs, they know I am usually very good about taking notes, and also lots of pics including lots of food porn. This time I totally dropped the ball. I was just too lazy and too busy visiting with everyone. :rotfl:

There were 7 of us at the Club 33 lunch and we all took pics. Some took tons of pics, so I might have to ask if I can borrow a few of theirs. ;)

I did get some food porn pics from Club 33. The dessert especially was heavenly. MMMMMMM. :cloud9:

As I said before, I sort of dropped the ball on this trip report. I didn't take any notes and very few pictures, but I'll do my best. Every time there was something worth taking a picture of, about 5 ladies whipped their camera out, so I figured.....why bother! I can just steal their pics when I get home. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: (we have a shutterfly account set up to share all our pictures on)

But I did take a few, so I will share those, and attempt to pull some details from my already fading memory. So here goes nothing............ (Stacie, you better hurry up with your awesome TR and save us all here!!!)

Thursday morning I was up bright and early. I didn't sleep much. Who does the night before a Disney vacation?? I was packed and ready to go. Actually I had been packed for awhile, which was a good thing considering my previously mentioned bout with food poisoning. :scared: I was out of commission from Sunday night through sometime on Tuesday morning. And at one point I wasn't even sure I was going to make the trip.

But by Thursday morning I was feeling good if a bit weak and eagerly awaiting the arrival of Amy/bigskyernurse. She's a Vegas local that I've met with for lunch before and had so generously offered to haul my butt (and my 20 suitcases!) to DL with her.

She arrived, we loaded the car, I said my good-byes to my husband and kids (biting my lip and telling myself not to start bawling in front of Amy) and we were off!!!! OMG, months, weeks, days, hours, of planning and we were finally on the road!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

First stop was to pick up another DISer and Vegas local, Jane/cheshiregirl. We had arranged to meet at Starbucks on the way out of town. Ummm, we were just a tad late in picking her up. :rolleyes1 Let's just say neither Amy nor I should EVER apply for the Amazing Race. Neither of us are very good at directions, especially when we are talking and pass right by our exit! :rotfl:

Jane was waiting with her husband and cutie pie son. They said their good-byes, we loaded her stuff, loaded up on coffee, and we were off again.
Here is a pic of my Vegas buddies and road trip partners. How cute are they?!?!
(Jane in brown and Amy in the blue)
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS Divas 2009/AmyandJane.jpg

If you've ever done the drive from Vegas to Anaheim, you know it's pretty boring. Sort of a scene from The Hills Have Eyes. Kind of creepy, but mostly not a lot going on. But being with Amy and Jane the time just flew by. We talked the whole way, and didn't stop once (No peeing allowed! We were on a mission dang it!). Let's just say I was glad to be sitting in the middle seat behind Amy so I couldn't see the speedometer. :rolleyes1 We left around 8:10 and made it to the HoJo at 11:30! :rotfl:

First stop was to drop off our luggage and get checked in. We were in Building 2 with a nice view of the Garden Pool. I've only stayed in Building 1 before this, but it was basically the same, just a smaller room.
I only snapped a few pics of the room and it was later on in the week, so ignore all the clutter everywhere. Also please ignore the dates on my pics. Clearly it's not the year 2216.

I had two roomies this trip; January/Daisy_77 and Capri/disney-super-mom. They were the best! Thanks girls for putting up with my mess everywhere and the hot, steamy bathroom in the mornings. (why wouldn't HoJo put a fan in the bathroom??)
You can kind of see how we had two Queen beds and a roll away.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS Divas 2009/100_0057.jpg

The fridge (for all our water and Diet Pepsi) and the microwave. I brought lots of snack, all of which returned home with me unopened. :rotfl: We were too busy to snack in the room!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS Divas 2009/100_0058.jpg

Yes, these shots were taken while I was sitting in bed. I was watching Two and a Half Men (funny show, I'd never seen it before) and it suddenly occurred to me I hadn't taken any room shots. I was too lazy to get up and do it right though. These were taken on our last day, and I was so tired! So this is as good as it gets for room shots. lol
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS Divas 2009/100_0059.jpg

This was our hotel room door. Several of the ladies decorated their doors with their names, and lime green Mickey heads. It was fun and helped to find who was who and where.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS Divas 2009/100_0061.jpg

After unloading the car, and freshening up a bit, Jane, Amy and myself were off to the parks. First item of business for me was to wait in line to get my annual pass. I was only going to buy a park hopper for this trip but my sweet husband surprised me with one of those APs from Costco, so I got the Deluxe AP and the $50 gift card.

We were on Main Street when we ran into our first DISer, Chris/Califgirl. I'd met her last time and on a mini meet, she's so nice and I was glad she was able to make it. Before long we were joined by Jill/4fosterkids and we headed off to get Indy FPs.
Jane had to take off to go to a scheduled lunch at Ariel's in CA, so she headed off, as did Chris and Jill. (they joined us again soon after though) From there Amy and I met up with Tina/BillyFan and her mom, and my roomie January. We all went to the Golden Horseshoe to watch the Billy show and grab a bite to eat where we were joined by Sarah/sahbushka and Heather/lilycat. LOVE that show!!

After that it was off to DCA for Aladdin. Another one of my faves. I missed it when we were there in October and couldn't wait to see it. I was joined by Jane, Amy, January, Chris, Jill, Melody, Wendy and I can't remember who else. lol
Keep in mind, most of the first day was just nuts. Meeting people I hadn't seen in awhile, meeting people for the first time, etc. It was fun but kind of a blur. It's always interesting to meet someone you've been chatting with online for months! But it was all good. I was having so much fun I didn't even think about hitting the rides!

I was tired however so after Aladdin I excused myself from the group to head back to the hotel. I wanted to unpack a little, call my family and freshen up before our fun evening we had planned! That night was our scheduled Meet and Greet with over 35 ladies signed up to attend. I knew it was going to be fun and I wanted to be well rested for all the festivities! :yay:

Coming up next...........The Pizza Party Meet and Greet, a.k.a. Who are you again??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Well, I wasn't going to continue with my TR due to my lack of notes, lack of pictures and the fact that Stacie started her TR and gave me an excuse not to. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:
But I have time to kill right now, and also I promised to eventually get to the info and pics from Club 33, sooooooo I'm moving forward with this whether or not I actually have any readers. lol

When we left off I was in the room getting ready for the Pizza Party Meet and Greet. On my way up to the room I actually ran into Stacie and she had pulled me into the conference room to show me how the decorating was going. I have to say, it looked amazing!!

These were the ladies in charge of the planning for this event and they really out did themselves.
Left to Right: Stacie/Stacerita, Cheryl/toocherie and Michelle/Zoemakes5
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/hardworkers.jpg

They did a Mardi Gras theme and the whole room was transformed. They are very creative and such hard workers, so I knew the room would look good, but I was still really blown away by how much work they'd put into it. Fabulous job ladies!!!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

I ran upstairs to change and was soon joined by Capri and January. We did a little unpacking, got freshened up and soon it was time to head downstairs for some fun!

When we first entered the room, there were already lots of ladies in there. We were all given Mardi Gras beads (and we didn't even have to flash anyone to get them! lol) and there was a Bingo game going on. You had to find someone in the group who matched the description in a square and get them to sign that square. You couldn't have the same person sign more then once and the first person to have all their squares signed was the winner.

I had no idea they'd been planning a game, but I have to say it was such a good idea. What a fun way to force everyone to get up and mingle as opposed to just walking in and plopping down at a table and not talking to anyone.
As a side note, the square I was asked to sign the most said, "Has over a 1,000 posts on the DIS." Gee, for some reason everyone seemed to think of me when they read that. :confused3 :rolleyes1

After that it was time to dig into the food (salad, vege platter, nuts, various pizzas) and the booze, and chat it up with the ladies.

The booze!

Stacie and Michelle showing off the candy buffet. This was an idea that I had read about on the DIS budget board, and had always wanted to try. I think it turned out great! EVERYONE brought candy in to share, some even brought in homemade items like toffee. Yum. Everyone was given mini lime green tote bags to fill up with candy to enjoy that night or save for later.

After everyone was done eating and had their fill of candy (there was still tons of it left over!) it was time for the tote exchange. This was Stacie's idea and I had so much fun doing this. Basically it was open to anyone who wanted to play, all you had to do was bring in a medium sized tote worth between $15-$20.
The game was done in sort of a white elephant style where there are no names on it, you go up one at a time to pick your wrapped tote, and someone else can either steal it from you or pick a new one. I had mine stolen more then once, lol, but it was all in good fun and in the end I loved the tote I had. In addition to being cute, it was filled with all sorts of goodies. :yay:

Linda's daughter Brianne, holding up her choice during the tote game:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/toteexchange.jpg

Another fun moment during the evening was announcing the winner of the Name that Croc game.
No, we aren't naming our shoes. lol This was a contest held by Cheryl/toocherie and Sarah/MotoXPrincess99.
They bought the cutest (and softest) little stuffed croc who was to become our trip mascot. But she needed a name, so they held a contest where everyone could submit their name ideas, and they would choose the winner.

Well, my roomie January was the winner!! Everyone, meet the newest member of the Girls Only Trip.......Tinkerbites!! princess: She was all decked out in a cape that had our shirt logo on it (a Tinkerbell) as well as a blinged out collar and a mini tiara. She even had her own matching lanyard with her name on it. Too cute!

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/January.jpg

The party was a huge hit. I think everyone who attended had a blast. I know some ladies were concerned about missing out on park time to attend this meet and greet, but in the end I think everyone was glad they came. And more importantly, I can definitely see this being a part of each trip from now on. It was just a great way to sort of break the ice and get to know one another before hitting the parks the next day.

My hat is off to Stacie, Cheryl and Michelle for all their hard work in setting up/cleaning up, keeping the party flowing smoothly, and seeing to it that everyone had fun. They went above and beyond, and we all thank you for that. :)

So day one of the trip has come to a close, and everyone was off to their rooms to rest up for the first full day in the parks.
Sleep well ladies........and you too Tinkerbites.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_0009.jpg

Up next: Don't forget your tiara! A lesson in how to make Beth (that would be me) bawl like a baby. And take two on the VIP tour, will it turn out any better this time around?

(Photo disclaimer: Most of the pics are mine, but some of them are borrowed, with permission, from a shared Shutterfly account that we have set up for us all to share our pics. A lot of the ladies didn't even bother to take photos since every time something picture worthy came up, 5 ladies whipped out their camera! LOL So we all just decided to share pics at the end.)

OH! I was thinking of you the other day. I grabbed a Diet Pepsi from the fridge and it was only around 10 a.m. so Ruben says to me, "Soda this early?"
I started cracking up because I remembered you at like 6 in the morning, eyes barely open, stumbling over to the fridge to grab your DP. :rotfl2:
I loved that, totally cracks me up every time I think about it. :rotfl:

Friday was our first official full day in the parks and I didn't want to be late. Well, I needn't have worried. We had a human alarm clock in our room. January was up bright (make that dark) and early every day! Around 4:30!!! She was sitting on the bed, dressed down to her shoes by the time Capri and I were barely opening our eyes.
Speaking of eyes barely open, Capri totally cracked me up. Every morning, first thing she'd wake up, walk from her roll away over to the mini fridge, grab a Diet Pepsi, and stumble back to bed to drink it. :rotfl2: I love my DP, but this girl puts me to shame!! :worship::worship:

They were great roomies though. I loved sharing with them and had a lot of fun.

Before hitting the park, we decided to stop in Mimi's Cafe for a bite to eat. It was myself, January, Capri, Cheryl, Sarah and Heather. Love the muffins at Mimi's. Great way to start the day.

We finished breakfast quickly and were off! I was so thrilled to be heading to the parks. The plan was to meet up at Princess Fantasy Faire for a group photo with the Princesses. We all had bought tiaras to wear for this, and I tried and tried but could not get mine to fit just right. I guess I have a misshapen head. Good thing I'm not a real princess. That thing is a pain in the butt to wear all the time. lol

We got to PFF around 9:15. There was around 20 of us waiting, so we took a few pics before it opened.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/clubkokok.jpg

The CMs were so awesome at the PFF. They took several of our cameras to take pics with, and we were allowed lots of time to visit with the Princesses.

Here is the group shot with several of the Divas.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_2949.jpg

The Princesses were a lot of fun, and took pics with Barbie Beth and Tinkerbites. I'm sure they thought we were weird, but they didn't let on. ;)
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_0012.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_0014.jpg

After visiting with the Princesses, we all gathered just outside the PFF. Melody called me into the center of the group, and I suspiciously walked over saying something about, "I didn't do it." To which she replied, "Yes, you did. You did all this, and this is from all of us." She then held up an envelope and that's when I totally lost it. :rotfl: Yep, bawled like a baby. Could barely manage to squeak out a thank you. I didn't even know at the time what was in there, but it didn't matter. It was a very nice surprise and I was so touched that they took the time to do that for me. (I found out later it was a $100 gift card!!! )

Me, taking the envelope:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/dkfjsjjfd.jpg

Thank you Divas!!!

I had a lot of fun shopping with that gift card. I bought myself some pins, a t-shirt, four of those Lenox Christmas ornaments, and a picture frame. Oh, and some yummy treats too. ;)

After that we split up. Some of the ladies went on the VIP tour, and the rest of us went on It's a Small World.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/Smallworld.jpg

I love the new character additions to the ride. I thought it was very tastefully done.
After Small World we sort of got separated from the group and there was only about 6 of us that went on Haunted Mansion (favorite ride!) and Pirates of the Caribbean (second favorite ride).

We hit a few of the shops in New Orleans Square and took some pictures on the stairs before it was time for lunch at the Blue Bayou!! I haven't eaten there in......gosh, at least 18 years or so. It was right after high school, and I'm now coming up on my 20 year HS reunion, so that gives you some idea of how long it had been. In fact, I can't remember anything about our meal there before, so this was for all intents and purposes my first time. ;)

We had a large group and were seated at two tables. Not near the water at all, but that was ok. The atmosphere in there is still awesome and our waiter was pretty darn good for dealing with such a large group.
I shared the Portobello Mushroom and Couscous Maque Choux with January. It was really good. Sorry, no pics though. It didn't even occur to me until I was almost done eating.

After Blue Bayou the day gets a little bit fuzzy. :rolleyes1 This is where notes would have come in handy, but honestly we were all just having too much fun to even think about a trip report later on.

I do know that dinner that night was at Carnation Cafe. So we all met up again for that. The Baked Potato soup was delicious as always and our waiter, Robert, was so funny.

And after dinner we were to all meet up at the Disneyland hotel in one of the conference rooms. Cheryl had arranged for a special DVC meeting, and tour of the new Grand Californian DVC villas. I know it's not something I can ever afford, but it was neat to see the villas.

On the way back to the parks, a few of us stopped at the Napa Rose lounge for dessert and drinks. I don't drink, but I ordered one to try anyway. Ummm yeah, ick! Wendy ended up with my drink. See, she's got two drinks in her hands. lol

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_0025.jpg

This was my $12 apple crisp. It was just ok.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/100_0021.jpg

After that, I was pretty tired, and headed back to the hotel. Up tomorrow is our character breakfast with Chip and Dale, and the scavenger hunt. :yay:

Nice addition Beth. That's about how much I remember LOL. I remember the high points but not much after lunch or in between CC and the Tour although I guess pretty much after dinner it was pretty much straight over TO the tour. Although it seems we hit space in there somewhere but who knows that may have been a different day LOL. They all seemed to meld together at one point. :)

Love the pics AND the report. Keep it coming. :)

Yeaaaa, another installment. :)

I'm really sorry I missed the PFF photo op... next time, hopefully.

I'm just going to latch onto yours with some pics, if you don't mind.

Friday morning I picked Molly up at the airport, and dropped her off at the HoJo's. By that time I knew that there was a group having lunch at the Blue Bayou, and since I hadn't signed up for it I thought I would wander around until dinnertime, and take some pics for the DIS of Sleeping Beauty Castle & Pixie Hollow.

When I got to the park the Band was playing, Alice and the Mad Hatter were dancing with a group of children, and Cruella was being her usual sneering self. (Dancing was obviously beneath her. lol)

I watched this for awhile, and then headed over to the castle. I also took some random shots around the park.

Oh, and I also went on It's a Small World - my first time since the change. I really liked it - even the Jessie & Woody dolls -- probably representing the type of dolls they might have in the old west back in the day

Then I went to Pixie Hollow and waited 45 minutes to see the fairies. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the little children interact with each other and their families - so cute. Made me miss mine when they were that age. :::: sigh ::::

Well, then I went over to Plaza Pavilions. I had the bright idea that it would be kind of cool to just hang out on my laptop & do some work while at Disneyland. I think what I got out of that was feeling a little conspicuous, like a huge neon GEEK sign flashing over me.

However, while I was there, the Mad Hatter & Alice came out & played musical chairs. They were hilarious!! At first, then had all the kids playing regular musical chairs, but when some were out (including Alice), she lead the kids around the chairs, but then started weaving in & out and running, and she & the children kept running into each other - rather chaotic and hilarious. Then when it got down to three kids and two chairs, Alice & the Mad Hatter picked the chairs up and kept running to opposite sides of the eating area at Coke Corner, and the kids were racing back and forth trying to follow the chairs. It was soooo funny. Here are a couple of pics & a link to a video I took of it.

I'm really sorry I missed the PFF photo op... next time, hopefully.

I'm sorry you missed it too! It was fun and the cast members were so accommodating and patient. We'll definitely have to do that again.

I'm just going to latch onto yours with some pics, if you don't mind.

I don't mind at all! Please do. I barely took any pics this time. And your pics are always so pretty! :worship:

Then I went to Pixie Hollow and waited 45 minutes to see the fairies. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the little children interact with each other and their families - so cute. Made me miss mine when they were that age. :::: sigh ::::

I totally forgot all about Pixie Hollow. I was so bummed because I really wanted to see it. Oh well, next time. ;)

[color=navy]
Well, then I went over to Plaza Pavilions. I had the bright idea that it would be kind of cool to just hang out on my laptop & do some work while at Disneyland. I think what I got out of that was feeling a little conspicuous, like a huge neon GEEK sign flashing over me.

Hey, if you gotta work, there's no better place to do it, right?? LOL

So, Beth - I heard you could explain this

I can, but not on the DIS. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Love, love, love all your pics Mary Jo. You are a great photographer. Thanks so much for sharing since I was sorely lacking many photos. :flower3:

Love it ladies. I see I missed a whole lot. Maybe next year.:goodvibesYes, next year! You must, it's so much fun.

Mary Jo LOVE the pics and YOUR version of the day. Great updates all! :)
I'd love for anyone to feel free to hop on and share their version of the day. That's what is so cool, we had so many ladies, that there were different groups who did different things, so there are different stories to tell. :)

I got a Beth update AND a Mary Jo update! I feel the life coming back to me! I again have a healthy glow!:goodvibes ;)

As far as what we did after riding HM, first I think we waited for our fastpass runners. Oh boy, it's a blur for me.....but then I think we all rode Pirates (even though our fastpass runners just rode it). And didn't we mozy over to BTMRR and ride that (except for Beth who sat on a bench and people watched for a bit)? And I swear we were on the hunt for something for Kelly.....a pretzel stand maybe? And January and I both got pretzels too (with cheese). Then didn't we make our way over to Tomorrowland and ride Buzz? I seem to remember Kelly's mom, Rosemary, holding our pretzels for us when we rode Buzz. And what else did we do? Did we get fastpasses for Space Mountain? Or did we ride Space Mountain? I think we rode it, but I'm not sure.

You know, I could be completely wrong about all that. Take everything I just wrote with a boulder of salt and a shot of tequila. :rolleyes1

You're so funny. :rotfl:

Yes, y'all did BTM while I waited on the bench because that's when I ran into Debbie and she told me all about the disaster with the VIP tour. :sad2:

Did you and January ditch me?? I don't remember any pretzels with cheese!

I do remember hanging out and chatting with Rosemarie while you all went on Space. She is so cool. :cool2: And then we did take the monorail over to the hotel for the DVC tour. When we got to the hotel, you went off to make a phone call and January and I were chilling in those big, cushy chairs that felt so darn good after a full day of walking. lol

I also remember sitting at the DVC presentation and not paying any attention at all. Not because it wasn't interesting, but I just knew I'd never buy into it. So when they said we are going to draw names and if your name is called you have to answer a question to see if you'd been paying attention, I felt like I was in high school again, crouching down in my chair, looking the other way, praying "please don't call on me, please don't call on me." :lmao:

January and I both had pretzels, and Rosemary put them in her big plastic Disney shopping bag that she got from shopping earlier. And then January and I had to figure out which pretzel belonged to who after we got off of Buzz.

I didn't want to get called on during the DVC presentation either.:goodvibes

January, Melody and I got the giggles REALLY BAD during the DVC presentation because of one of the couples on the DVC video. The husband looked like he was 40, but the wife looked like she was 70. We were all like, "Whaaaaa? That's a couple?! I thought they were mom and son. What in the heck happened to her?!!. :scared1: :rotfl:

Of course we were exhausted at the time, so the giggles got to us fairly easily. We were a bit......loopy. And we hadn't even been to the Grand Californian Lounge yet!

This is the first time I've seen this thread! Nice job, Beth! :goodvibes Mary Jo, you are an excellent photographer. :thumbsup2That day we ran into you, you should have just dumped your work and joined us.

I wish we had been there to see Beth get the gift. :sad1:We VIP ladies, well some of us, (Theresa, Heather and I - we had eaten at McD's that AM) were hung up because we were in the line for Peter Pan (since we were early) when the women in front of us tried to put too many kids into the ship. They had a discussion with the CM and it took too long.:rolleyes1

Now I know how important it is that the cars are loaded quickly. If you take too long to board, it throws the system into an automatic shut down. Bells went off and some poor riders were stuck in there for what must have been 15-20 min. We were right at the start of the line, next to go on, and getting out of line did not seem like an option.

They had to have four CM come with keys and put in special codes. The machinery went through a special sequence and then finally it was working again. But they had to get everyone off, and not do any loading. Once that was fine --and even then they probaby ran the cars through once-- they can board again.

So by the time we got close to PFF, someone looked around the corner and said it was too late to join. Heather was drinking something so we sat with her, waiting for Tracey to bring the vip tour guide, Ginger, to us. I ran in the princess gift shop to see if they had the princess charm bracelet I had been looking for, but it was just little princess stuff.

I realized I needed an imodium :scared1:and none of us had one with us. I saw the divas rushing by, out of PFF, they were just about running toward IASW. I ran with Kerry and yes, she had one!!!

I went back to wait with the vip ladies, not realizing that Kerry was supposed to be on the tour with us.:upsidedow

Anyway, finally we got all ten women in the right place for the tour that we so hoped would be the highlight of our trip!:yay:

You made me LOL. The problem was something like, I think they wanted to put the three little ones together in one car and then the two women and infant in another, but the CM said the three could not ride alone. I was frustrated but I also remember that it seemed like the CM should have caught it before they sat down.

What were they thinking? I'd never send little kids alone on that ride, because as you said, it is pretty high up in parts. Maybe they'd never been on it or something, but little kids definitely need supervision on a ride like that.

You know, I did not ever put two and two together that the reason the ride broke down was because of the loading delay. What the heck sort of system is that? I mean they must have delays all the time with the wheel chair entrance etc., and it wasn't that long of a moment while the CM explained to the Moms that the configuration they had envisioned would not work. I think it was like a 5, 4, and 2 or 3 year old that they wanted to go together, and it was the little one that had to be with an adult. The funny part was that the older two apparently fought and when the ride got stuck, the two oldest were off on the ride by themselves with the Moms on the loading dock with the two little ones. The two oldest were probably in the flying over london part, and from the loading dock, you could hear them fighting. Personally, with my youngest, I would not dream of letting him on that ride without an adult with him, and he is 6. My oldest was a different child, and probably would have done fine at that age. I would not have sent two girls that tend to fight though, and I would have been frantic when they got stuck, but these two Moms were really young, and took it all in stride.

Having worked attractions, sometimes the loading delays are the longest. People with disabilities and their groups are usually used to the needs of their party, so they don't actually take too long. When EVERYONE wants to ride in front or when a group of 3 want to ride in a 2 person row, that sometimes takes a long time to explain.

This is why it's so great for everyone to chime in on these reports. (Hi Tracey!) I had forgotten that the one ship went in with their kids. They were not at all concerned about that.

Where did you do this, Kerry? Yeah, what happened was they loaded up one ship and sat before the CM explained that wasn't going to work. So they had to all climb out and then discuss with her what they could do. But it wasn't that long a break and so now I get it when they really rush you on the cars at all the other rides.

The day after the weekend where they redid POTC with Depp's likeness, the CM were so tired. They had worked a long hot weekend that was overcrowded. A CM running Mr. Toad's was the grumpiest I'd ever seen, no smile, he looked like he was falling asleep.

I know one ex-CM and used to know another (she was one of the princesses at one time). Once upon a time, they had fabulous free food at the CM commissary, even BB food she said.

Morning came way too early this day. I did not want to wake up and once I did it was hard to get moving very quickly. Finally my roomies and I were ready and headed over to the Grand Californian for our one character meal of the trip. Breakfast with Chip and Dale!!

By the time we got there mostly everyone was seated and eating. We had a little section to ourselves, with four tables. It was nice. The food was really good. I was hesitant to eat much as just before the trip I'd had a bad case of food poisoning from a buffet, but the food there was fresh and very tasty, and now I wish I'd had more. Oh well.

As a side note, before I forget, this was the day we were all wearing our group shirts. I stubbornly did not order or make one for myself before the trip as I was having a hard time finding a suitable white tee in my size. So my wonderful roomie Capri took it upon herself to buy me a shirt and make one for me so I'd match the group. Thanks Capri!!!

This was us, arms linked, doing some sort of dance at the end. I can't remember what we were doing, but clearly I was amused as I am totally cracking up in this pic! :rotfl:

From there it was time for the Scavenger Hunt!! :yay: This was something new for our group this year, but so much fun we will definitely be including it in all future meets.
It was headed up by Melody (tinkermell), Wendy (wendylady36) and Dawn (fairykin). They all did a marvelous job of planning this, and it turned out great.

We were all divided into teams before the trip began and had been given the opportunity to choose team names.
I was on a team with my two roomies, Capri and January, and Jen (grizbuzz). We were the Neverland Naughties.

A few pics from the hunt. (Mary Jo, I know you have many more pics from this and youtube video too. If you have time and wouldn't mind, I'd love for you to post them here! :flower3: :worship: )

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mommaU4/DIS%20Divas%202009/clubrerer.jpg

After the hunt was over, the groups pretty much split up. Some of the ladies were heading off to start the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, which they later said they loved.
Some stayed in DL, and a few of us headed off to DCA. After awhile, if I remember correctly ( :rolleyes1 ) a couple of us ended up in DTD doing some shopping. I think it was Capri, Kerry, Tracey, Amy, January, and myself.

Once sufficient damage was done to our wallets in World of Disney, some of the group stopped for drinks at Uva, while January and I took the monorail over to Disneyland.

I had planned all along to hold the spots for Fantasmic that evening and I wanted to see how crowded it was getting. I had planned to start saving a spot around 5:30 or 6, like I usually do when I am with my family, but when we got to the Rivers of America area at around 4:30 people were already saving spots!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

I could not believe it. I'd never seen people there so early before. But I am a die hard Fantasmic fan and I was not going to miss out on my prime viewing area. So I grabbed the three blankets I had brought with me to the park, spread them out, and parked my fanny. January sat with me for awhile until it was time for our dinner reservation which was Cafe Orleans at 5.

I had planned to go to that and then camp out after ward, but there was no way I was leaving my spot now. lol
So a group of them met up for dinner, and when it was over, Melody was kind enough to bring me some pomme frites and beignets to go. OMG, I was so hungry and that was the best food ever!! I wolfed it all down. Thank you Melody!!

The rest of my night was pretty much spent camped out waiting for the show, people watching (one of my favorite past times at Disney), and chatting with others camped out nearby. A few ladies came by to say hi, then went on their way. For one reason or another the group that watched Fantasmic was really small. I had spots saved for up to 15 ladies, but it only ended up being myself, January, Michelle, Melody, Sarah and Heather.

The show was wonderful as always. And I was so glad I got to see it. It's just a must do for me each time no matter what. It was Heather's first time seeing it, so I was glad I'd taken the time to save us a front and center spot, if for no other reason than she really loved it. :)

After Fantasmic I don't think we did anything else. It was really cold, and January ate something that did not agree with her at all, so we were ready to head back to the hotel. Poor thing was pretty sick that night. She thinks it was a chimichanga that she'd eaten earlier. I felt so bad for her, but I love those things! lol

We chatted for a bit, watched a little tv and then headed off to sleep. The next day was Sunday, our last full day in the parks. I couldn't believe the trip was going by so fast!!
But at the same time I was super excited for Sunday to arrive. Why, you ask? Because that was the day of our brunch at Club 33!!! :yay: :woohoo:

Great addition to your trip report.

Sorry about you saving so many spots for Fantasmic. Steph and I tried our best to get there in time, but missed it by one minute and they would not let us through.

Looking forward to hearing about Club 33.Oh, no worries. :) I would have been sitting there saving a spot for myself no matter what. I'm spoiled. I have to watch Fantasmic front and center, sitting comfortably, and I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen. I don't even like the seating area for the dessert viewing because it's too far over on the side for my taste.

At the end, just before it started when we realized we didn't need all that room, we pulled in the blankets and some of the other groups around us who had squeezed into a tight spot were able to spread out, so it worked out ok.

Come on now. I have been really sick and still managed to pull out an installment or two. So why are you laging? Where the heck is that crack the whip smilie? Or maybe I should get Jen over here and tell her you said you would work on the 5k once you got more of your trip report done. Then you know she would be all over you.

WHAT?? Beth is doing the 5k?

Can I add on to this trip report?

Well, let's see what I can remember... I, unfortunately, didn't leave for Disneyland until Friday afternoon and missed the Thursday party. :( After a quick and easy flight from Oakland to Long Beach, I hopped on a cab to HOJOs (cab cost me more than the flight :headache: but I won't go into that) and made it to Disneyland sometime in the afternoon. I had no plans until dinner, so I decided to take it easy and was going to enjoy a leisurely train ride around the park. Well, I got to the train station and there was a train at the station and waiting, but they wouldn't let me board. :sad2: I decided not to sweat it and was just going to enjoy the wait. Well I was all alone at the train station when a group of women in red came to the station. It was none other than the DIS Ladies!!! They were on the tail end of the infamous VIP tour, getting ready to enjoy the Lilly Belle and since I was wearing my red shirt, they let me join the group.

It was the BEST. Vern our conductor poured out more Disney trivia than I could absorb. I definitely lucked out running into the ladies and am SO APPRECIATIVE that they let me join them for such a great experience.

It was sometime between this lovely train ride and our lovely dinner that I had a not so lovely ride on Splash Mountain. My awesome roomate Tracey brought ponchos, which unfortunately ended up causing me quite a bit of problems. I think I was feeling a little too invincible with my yellow poncho and decided that it would be a good idea to sit in the front of the boat. Let's just say that by the time I got off the ride, I was soaked from my head to my toes, all the way through to my undies (and, no, I didn't have an accident). I was trying to keep a smile on my face, but I was freezing and I couldn't help but to wonder how clean that Splash water really is. There was no time to go back to HoJo's, so I was trying to just make the best of it. Fortunately a very kind soul (thank you Callie!) offered me her jacket. It warmed me back up and enabled me to enjoy my dinner at Carnation. Dinner was great, but, for the record, I must say that I did not like the potato soup. (sorry ladies!) It was so thick and rich, I just couldn't eat more than half a cup.

Let's see...I think we had the DVC tour and Napa Rose desserts that night. We already have some great photos of DVC, so I'll just share my Napa Rose pics.

Can I add on to this trip report?

I planned to write a bit more, but have run out of time.
I'll be back!
YES! Please do.
I love hearing other versions of the same day and while everyone might not want to do a full report, definitely everyone should feel free to add your experiences and pictures here.

I am totally wondering why your cab cost more than your flight???
And that is so awesome you met up with the VIP ladies and got to rid the Lilly Belle. :yay: I did not know that!
What a great start for the trip that must have been. :goodvibes And I love that bottom pic of you and Vern.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh138/jengrinold/IMG_2127-1.jpg

And in the afternoon, there was the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour, which I really loved. I liked the little earphones with the musical interludes and clippings of Walt's speeches. I just get so excited listening about how Walt thought all this up and then just drew it up and made it happen! So cool!:goodvibes

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh138/jengrinold/IMG_2150.jpg

After all this Walt inspiration, Mary Jo and Wendy and I headed over to the Blue Sky Cellar to see the DCA plans. On the way, we ran into Nancy (YellowMickeyPoncho) on main street! After seeing all the cool plans for DCA, we headed for the Cove Bar and had some yummy drinks. Wendy only got the one she paid for, as Beth wasn't there to subsidize. It was at this point I missed my one opportunity to go on Screamin' :headache: with Wendy! I thought I'd be able to do it the next day, but of course the opportunity never came back. But we did make it for more drinks at the Hearthstone Lounge at GCH and for conversation with Capri and Kelly and her mom.

Now how come I can't remember what I did for breakfast on the final day. I'm mixing everything up, no doubt. Oh wait...now I remember. I did a solo Magic Morning on Sunday and hit Fantasyland. Made it to Peter Pan, Dumbo (yes, I did Dumbo by myself :goodvibes), Small World and we had our group Dole Whip for Bawb for breakfast! After that, was a trip to the Lego store to pick up goodies for my boys and then lunch at the Vineyard Room where I enjoyed a glass of Magicale. And then it was time to get a ride back to the airport and fly home!

A great trip that went too fast!
Thanks Ladies!!

I also remember sitting at the DVC presentation and not paying any attention at all. Not because it wasn't interesting, but I just knew I'd never buy into it. So when they said we are going to draw names and if your name is called you have to answer a question to see if you'd been paying attention, I felt like I was in high school again, crouching down in my chair, looking the other way, praying "please don't call on me, please don't call on me." :lmao:Too funny! :rotfl:

January, Melody and I got the giggles REALLY BAD during the DVC presentation because of one of the couples on the DVC video. The husband looked like he was 40, but the wife looked like she was 70. We were all like, "Whaaaaa? That's a couple?! I thought they were mom and son. What in the heck happened to her?!!. :scared1: :rotfl:

Of course we were exhausted at the time, so the giggles got to us fairly easily. We were a bit......loopy. And we hadn't even been to the Grand Californian Lounge yet!I had totally forgotten about that couple.:lmao: I kept waiting for a "byline" at the bottom about a Mom and Son or something like that. It was wierd!

Loved the candy buffet, the princess tiara pics, the pic of Wendy with 2 drinks :thumbsup2 & hearing about all the fun. Can't wait for more.........Come and join us next year!!! :goodvibes

Anyway, finally we got all ten women in the right place for the tour that we so hoped would be the highlight of our trip!:yay:Yikes! I had no idea all that happened! :headache:

Seriously though.....the moms really thought it was ok to send 3 toddlers alone? Come on. Granted, its not a thrill ride, but still. Its high up and you never know what kids will do.I so agree!!
