Anyone else ready for the July 6th western cruise? I am a college student going on the cruise with my parents and 15-year-old brother. Looking forward to scuba diving. Wondering if there are any other 20-something people going?

We are on the 7/6 Western too!!! 3 families, but sorry no one in the 20's with us!!! From what I understand it is a full ship, so I'm sure you will find lots of 20 something crowd on board!!!!

Welcome to the DIS boards, amanda6913!
Our family is also cruising on July 6th to the western Carribean. We have an 18 yo college bound (in September) DD and a soon-to-be 14 yo DS. Sorry, no scuba divers in the family.
What excursions have you and your family signed up for? We've bought tickets (not through DCL) for the trolley at Key West (lots of time for shopping), the DCL Island tour at Grand Cayman, and Xcaret for Cozumel.
Less than 7 weeks to go!

Hi llachance;
We'll be at the Beach Club Villa's from the 3rd to the 6th before the cruise. My DS will be glad to hear there are others his age going on the cruise. Have you heard of any special plans for the 4th of July at WDW?

I talked to one CM who said this was the time to avoid the parks! I haven't heard of any special plans. I tried to make reservations at the California Grill in the Contemporary but the only time I could have was 5:00 pm which isn't the time that fireworks are happening. I am lucky to have a friend in the area and if she passes on information about happenings in the Orlando area I will be happy to pass them on. At this point we don't even plan to go into the park but just relax and watch the animals offour balcony.

We are going on the July 6th Western Cruise too! This will be our first ever cruise and we are so excited. My daughter is 13 and my son is 10. Can't wait to snorkel. I love reading about everyone's trips and am writing down ideas.
Happy cruising!

My daughter had a ball last year in the teen club so hopefully your daughter will to. This is our 4th cruise - 2nd on Disney. We may be somewhat jaded because our first cruise was on the QE2 from New York to London. Spent 4 days on the big red boat when Disney was still aboard with them. We had a blast last year and I am already planning on cruising with Disney next year as well.

I see you're also from NJ. Are you flying down or driving? We're planning to drive down, stopping in Hilton Head on the 4th of July. We'll be staying at the Radisson at the Port the night before the cruise.

Hi Stormkrow! We are from Middlesex County. We are driving down leaving very early (wee hours of the morning) on July 4th, stopping in NC. I should have thought to stay at HH for the 4th. We stayed there during the July 4th week one year and it was absolutely wonderful. HH is my favorite resort so far. (Wonder if I could change my plans this late in the game?) I'll have to call them in the morning. We are also staying at the Radisson at the Port on the 5th. :Pinkbounc Can't wait. Do you have your stateroom assigned to you already? Wouldn't it be funny if we had rooms nearby?
