Hi all!
I was going to rent the snorkling gear at CC, but today DH and myself were in Sports Authority and saw an entire set on sale for $16.99, so we were thinking of buying it ourselves, then I was thinking maybe we would buy our own face gear and just rent the fins for the $9.00 a day. The thing is my husband has size 15 shoes, so I was wondering if renting a pair of fins that fit him would be tough?
We have never snorkled before but we were thinking we might really like it and perhaps should just buy our own gear so that if we do it again we will have it, im really on the fence about this one....
Thanks!

My 14 YO son and I both wear a size 14 and managed okay last year. My 17 YO son wears a size 16 and I would say he managed, but that's about it.

Thanks for the reply, so you would say it is safe to say that he would be able to rent fins in his size?
It is so hard to find size 15 shoes, I couldn't even imagine size 16, your son must have to order them. My DH orders from a magazine called Eastbay and he has had good luck with them!
Thanks again!

We're very familiar with Eastbay! We have used them several times for athletic shoes, football shoes, etc. This often ends up being our only choice.

I used the "Snorkel Lagoon" excursion package on Castaway Key last year for $25, which included the snorkel, mask, fins and vest (sometimes called a "horse collar"). I confirmed with my older son again that he was able to use the fins okay. I would say that if you plan to do more snorkeling it may be worthwhile to get the fins. However, it just kind of depends if you want the extra bulk along, but this is a personal decision.

Good luck! :)
