Hello all,
I have finally decided to start our wedding trip report.
First of all, the usual disclaimers: This is my first trip report, I am not a native english speaker (or writer) and I am a man, so maybe the report will not be at the level of detail common around here ;)

So, let us introduce the couple:

Me: Hector (Hector Augusto) People here in Mexico usually have first name, middle name, first last name (father's last name) and second last name (mother's last name). And we use them all :) So, Augusto is my middle name. I omit last names... well, just because it feels safer.
I work as an IT (Information Technology) consultant, and I have always thought as myself as a rocker, until recently that I discovered I'm really a geek because I like techology, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and stuff like that. Oh, and wear nerdy glasses.
But I still like my rock, as you can see in this picture. I'm 38

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0410-1.jpg

She:: Juana (Juana Olivia) Originally from a coastal city called Veracruz. She is a Electronics Engineer, starting as an IT Consultant as well. She likes to think of herself as a non-tender and femenine women, but you will see during the report that she is. Here is a pic to prove it

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0069.jpg
She loves Tigger and Goofy, and says Goofy reminds her of me ( I wonder why) She is a very determined and strong person, reminds me of a chicken nugget: crispy outside, tender inside.

We live in Mexico City, and have been living together for three years now, but we just legalized our union. We have been around each other for over 12 years, but we were too young and inmature (sp?). We were supposed to get married about 8 years ago, but split up. Each of us made a life with other persons after that, only to be reunited again and realizing that we had always been thinking on each other, so we 'grabbed the bull by the horns' (mexican expression to say we stopped fooling around) and moved in.

This proved to be a great desicion, as you can see in this pic
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0391.jpg

When we decided to finally get married, nobody believed that we were getting married at Disney. This included most of our guests who never really did plans for the travel, since they thought it was some kind of carnival wedding, until very late in the game. Even DW parents didn't belive at first that we were getting married over there (or anywhere else). It took them a good 3 months to realize we were talking seriously. And unfortunately, the visa office @ the US embassy didn't believe them either when they told the vice-consul the purpose of the visit to the US, and they were denied the US visa to go to the wedding. :sad1:

But let's not start yet with the events of the PJ and trip report. We'll add some detail to those events later. Meanwhile, some other pics from ourselves:

This is DW in 2006 at Chef Mickey's , with her hero. I mean, her other hero, besides me ;)
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0021.jpg

This is me with a very flirty minnie, who gave me smacks and smoochies and signaled that I should call her. :rotfl2:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0016.jpg

Luckily neither one of us is too jealous. ;)

And a sneak preview of other photos to come:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0386.jpg

And yeah, I meant to put the image sideways :rolleyes1 For the next pictures, I will deliberatly put them in the proper way

Next: Planning and mishaps (mmm... by some reason doesn't really feel like a cliffhanger... well, just stay tuned)

BTW your story of how you and your DW dated and then went your seperate ways only to find out that you had been thinking about each other the whole time is very similar to me and my DH. :goodvibes

We decided to get married at WDW way before the 1 year mark, so we were really anxious about the date closing in, to book our holiday. I think we had an omen about things to come, when we took this picture in 2006

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0001.jpg

So we waited and waited and waited... just like you people waiting for this installment. So November came and we called DFTW. The girl that took our call could as well be taking the order for a pizza. That upbeat she was :confused3

We were told someone would contact us in a couple of days... nothing. We were wondering if, as this was a dream wedding, we have only dreamt that we called. Long story short, we were told to call again in april, since we wanted the WP.
Soooo it was time to look for a wedding dress ;) Did I tell you we were a little anxious to begin the process?.

So we had seen a beautifull dress here on the Dis Boards, and were hoping to find it. SO we went to our firts bridal store. And guess what? That dress was in catalog in that place. Wahoo! :cool1:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/vestido1.jpg

But then the mishaps began to happen. First of all, when we told our inlaws about the weddng @ disney, the first thinh we heard from my MIL was 'I don't know if I can make it, you know how my husband is. He doesn't like to leave the house'. What? not even for their daughters wedding? :confused3 As time went by, it was clear why she gave that response: She didnt think we were serious about marrying. She thought it would be some kind of carnival wedding, where a character would marry us and that's it. No legal or moral or ethical implications. Until it downed on her. And on us :p But we decided to go ahead :thumbsup2

Then another bummer: After the event downed on everyone, we bought the airfare for DW parents and our tickets, at a discounted price. With no cancellation option. Why is this important?. Because DW parents didn't have a US visa, and when they went to the US Embassy to obtain it, it was denied. :sad2: Apparently, the visa officer couldn't beleive that 2 mexican citizens were going to get married @ Disney. They wouldn't even look at the letter of intention that by this time was already signed with Disney. So we were stuck with two less parents and two extra airplane tickets. DW was like this

Then, yet another bummer: We knew it was going to be hard that people would fly over the US for our wedding, and invited only a few people. Who also thought this wasn't a real wediing, and/or it would be easy to find airfare and lodging @ Disney until only a few weeks before. So we ended having only 1 guest. Which at the end turned out to be just right, but we didn't know that at the moment.

Anyway, the planning with Disney was a really smooth process, even if we had to talk to different people along the way, since our planner had to go on a leave (it seems it was a maternity leave). Everyone was extremely kind, helpfull, and resourcefull.

So, our options were:

Weding Pavillion @ noon, on Dec. the 4th.
Cake: Rose and drapes
Cake filling: 1 layer Marble with amaretto filling, the other almond cake with peanut butter filling. Both wree yummy!
Cake Cutting: Some room at the Grand Floridean, since the terrace was under refurbishment. (oh yeah, this was another bummer, althought a minor one)
Extras: rose petals for the aisle, rose petals to toss, mickey confetti @ the cake cuting, and 'Bride and groom ears gift basket' @ our room. All of this was a surprise for DW. (Next part II of installment)

So, since the wedding was goint to be at noon , we began looking for a venue to hold a reception lunch. We finally decided for Fulton's, mostly because of this:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0033orl.jpg

So we were all set. We had decided to make a split stay, between the Coronado Springs and the Poly, and we had tickets for the Cirque du Soleil :cheer2:

My mother an the other guest were to be hosted @ Best Western Lake Buenavista.

We had finally our yellow tags, AP vouchers, Disney Honeymoon Registry gift card, and were all ready to set. And then something very good happerned: I finished the proyect I was assigned to, like 2 weeks before our wedding. And no other proyect was anywhere in sight. So my boss said 'Take advantage of this 2 weeks to prepare for your wedding, and we'll see each other the next year to continue working. Woohoooo. So it was 1 month of paid vacation all in all. :goodvibes Finally some extra pixie dust! pixiedust: After all the bummers.

This is my mother:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0009.jpg

Remember I told you my DW was crispy outside, tender inside? Well, here's me: goofy outside, rocker inside, and fatty all around:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0051.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0052.jpg

Juana is also Goofy. She just doesn't like me to remind her of that. Here is some goofyness.

Itchy Mickey, so she helped him out

Two Goofys!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/PIC_0077-2.jpg

Next: Heading for Orlando! and guess what? More Bummers! :scared:

Hi all!

Since I have not yet written the next installment, I will try to keep you busy by posting the link to our wedding pics. I was trying to save it for posting it on the 'wedding day' installment, but hey, time is only an illusion, right?

We reallt liked our pictures. I have been reading bad, or at least, not so good reviews about Disney photography, but in our case, we think they are pretty good.

Oh! And because of some mess up, we just received the video of our wedding. We used 'A Magic Moment' which was pretty affordable. The editing of the video is simple, but we are happy with the end product. I'll try to post some segments of it, later on the game.

One comment... yes, it is true that being on video adds up to your weight. And certainly widescreen doesn't help either! I'm sure it is not what I eat!

Thanks for folowing this report!

So, let's go on!

ITmickey
02-16-2009, 12:08 AM
So, after all the planning and excitement and previous mishaps, we were finally all set for the wedding!

Our guest count was now just reduced to three: Mi mother, a very close friend of Juana and I, and a colleague from a previous work project, originally from Seattle, but was down here in Mexico for said project. All the others, either couldn't make it, couldn't beleive we were REALLY getting married @ Disney, or got scared after seeing that the Peso went down about 30% against the US Dollar :scared1: Actually we even doubted to continue our plans, but after we realized that we would spend even more money on therapy if we cancelled :scared: , we decided to go on.

Anyway, back on track:
The flight was scheduled to leave at 11.40, and arrive in Orlando at 3.55 :woohoo:
But... this meant we had to go to the airport right in the middle of rush hour. With several roadworks along the way. But most important, with a family that arrives to anyplace constantly late :sad2:

The other guest was to meet us at the airport. And my colleague was to meet us at Orlando, on the wedding day.

Anyways, we decided to ask for a cab at 7 am, in order to get to the airport about hour and a half later, or so I thought.
Turns out, we were at the airport at 7:40 !!! However, we were able to check in, so we went for a yummi breakfast :goodvibes

While we were eating, our other Mexican guest arrived so we ended having lunch together.

The flight was uneventful, and, breakfast was served again  Fortunately, we had a couple of spare clothing buttons in case one was shot away because of so much food

So we got to Orlando, went thru immigration, picked our luggage and went thru customs, without any problem. Then we placed the yellow tags in our lugagge :goodvibes and everybody placed the bags in the courtesy 'baggage transporter' (forgot the actual name of that) for it to be carried to the pickup conveyor in terminal B.

So we went happy shopping! :goodvibes
Visited the Nasa store, the Disney store (of course!) and then we decided we should go and pick up my mother's and guest luggage. (Remember? they were staying offsite). As we were leaving the nasa Store, our guest (Enriqueta) asked 'Why hurry with the shopping? I don't thing anything will happen to the luggage'? Well, when we arrived to terminal B, and looked in the arrivals conveyor, we found...

ITmickey

We found... that none of the bags was at the conveyor!!! There were only a couple of bags still turning around... but not my mother’s and our guest! So we panicked for a little while, while we were looking for an airline rep. When we found her, we told her of our problem, and then we panicked a little more while she went somewhere to see where the missing bags went.
We started to look in all the conveyors, in all the piles of luggage… and finally my mother's, as they were being carried by… someone working for Disney’s ME :confused3
Turns out that when we checked in at the airline, all lugagge was put under my name... So even when my mother's bags had no yellow tags, they were still under my name, and Disney took them along with Juana's and mine...
So we just told them those bags were not going to a Disney owned and operated resort, and took them. That made us feel some relief... until we realized... there was still one bag missing! Our guest's!
So we went to the airline rep and panicked yet once more... To make this short, turns out the missing bag was at Virgin's conveyor :confused3

And... while we were waiting for the missing bag, my colleague, who was to escort Juana down the aisle... called to say he also was at the airport... only in Detroit! He was assigned last minute to a project over there, and had to leave in a hurry, so he wouldn't make it to the wedding. I can tell you Juana was not a happy camper. Because by this time we almost had a camp at the airport. Three hours had passed by, since the lost luggage issue. We were not having a very good start for this wedding trippy thingy... until...

Ok, this cliffhanging thing is not for me. Things got better from this point on, but not until we spent another hour and a half with DME, which now strangely enough, took that time to load the bus, wait... and wait... and wait... and finally depart towards our hotel!!! :yay: And that's where the pixie dust started, and wouldn't stop during the whole trip! :wizard:
When we got to the Coronado Springs, the CM gave us a very warm welcome because of our upcoming wedding, and gave us a voucher for some free sparkling wine at the hotel's bar :woohoo:
We just found the Hotel to be very nice and romantic. All dark, with the lights reflecting on the lake… a chilling wind that invited to be close… even if it had been a very hard day, that moment made it all worth it… a feeling of coziness; of being tired, but happy; of awareness of our upcoming very special day… of realizing where were we, after a year of planning, economical and mood upheavals, of some laughter by people who don’t ‘get’ Disney or a wedding there… we were finally there. Less than 48 hours to our wedding.
:goodvibes :cloud9: :lovestruc

Isn't that the best feeling, when you get to your resort and you can finally relax about the stress of plannng and traveling and just have fun!:goodvibes ! I'm sorry you had a last minute cancelation to your guest list, but I'm sure you all had a blast anyways, and you finally got all your bags! Coronado Springs sounds like a great resort, I am hoping to try staying there soon myself, so I love the good review:)

So, after one night of comforting sleep (no, really!) we were up and ready at 6 am on Wednesday. For what we saw the night before, the Resort had beautiful grounds, where we wanted to walk in the morning. We were assigned Ranchos 7A, ground level, where we could see the all the beautiful sights and flashy light of… the parking lot.
This, however, proved to be good, since most of the time in the room we spent in the room we did it with closed curtains, and it was conveniently located just across from bus stop 3, very close to a quiet pool and the laundry.
Anyway, going back on track, we wanted to live the wonderful sunrise, feel how the rising sun began to warm or face, as we walked across the premises on our way to get breakfast. So we grabbed our sweater, out jacket, and stepped out of our room, and enjoyed… the ice! :scared1: The grass and pathways surrounding the lake had ice, as had the wooden bridges. Actually, at first we didn’t notice it was ice, we just saw a funny color in the grass and cactus, until we slipped going across a small bridge. Then we realized the truth! Silly me, I always thought Florida was some kind of tropical paradise…
But going back on track (from which we slipped because of the ice) we ohhed and ahhed until we got the counter service where we had I don’t remember what for breakfast. It was some kind of breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon and cheese. You couldn’t find one here in Mexico City, even if you wanted to. Where was the ‘whole enchilada’ that I have heard in the news? The chilaquiles with pollo? :confused3 . After all, we decided that the sandwiches were good, and the chocolate was hot :goodvibes . So we walked back to our room, getting all kind of strange looks of all the ‘suites’ which apparently didn’t feel the same cold that we felt.
After having a bath and dress for the occasion, it was time to go get the marriage license. We grabbed a cab outside the hotel lobby, and asked the driver to take us to the Osceola courthouse. Where? Osceola courthouse. Where is that? We don’t know, you don’t know? Why should I know courthouse? Ok, let’s ask one of the CM. Please, directions to Osceola courthouse. (blank stare) To get the marriage license (blank stare) Another CM ‘Oh, you want to get married’ Me: I just want the license’ ‘Oh, you want to get the marriage license at Osceola Courthouse’. Happy faces from all the passengers in the cab (Juana and I)
Finally we got there, and asked for directions at the building entrance, to the security guards. The first officer ‘You want to get married? Why???... Look guys, he wants to get married’ Another guard: ‘Is he proposing to you?’ :lmao: I guess you had to be there, but this was hilarious, and really made our day.
We finally got the the Marriage License in about 10 minutes, without a hassle, and back to what was beginning to look like a Magic Kingdom.
We spent the evening there, with my mother and a guest, since this was the only night with Wishes until Saturday, but we had other plans for that day. Turns out Wishes, was all that we could wish for. It really was a magnificent preamble for what was going to happen the next day. Oh, and for the wedding too.
So after that very good evening, we were ready for the 8 am appointment next day for the dress steaming. Or so we thought…

Now on for some pics... Since the last night was already late, we took pictures of this...

So it was finally the day. Do you know that uneasy feeling, like butterflies in your stomach? General dizziness? Kind of a rush in the blood? And it doesn’t go away with Pepto? That’s how we were feeling. We even has a Bridezilla and Groomzilla moment. Like Godzilla vs. King Kong. It even happened late at night, like those movies used to be shown. I don’t even remember the reason, if any. We realized it was just better to go to bed and wait for the new morning.
So, the morning came. We were feeling all better. And the remaining butterflies in the stomach went away with breakfast. We had the appointment set for the dress steaming at 8, with Sue from Carolyn Allen’s, and for the makeup with Ana from Beauté Speciale, at 9 so I think we got up at about 6. For breakfast we had coffee and the leftovers from dinner. We showered, and began fooling around, as you can see in this pic
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0142.jpg
We actually managed to have fun before everything started.
So at 8 am sharp Sue and her husband arrived. They are a great couple, and had a lot of fun while Sue worked. Until she asked for the Dress lace. What do you mean we didn’t bring the lace to tie up the dress? Screaming. Anxiety. Relief, when it turned out Sue was looking for a white lace and the dress lace is red, so she didn’t see it at first. All calm again.
After the dress was done, this is what it looked like.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0140.jpg
So we began to get ready, when Ana and her assistant showed at 9 am sharp, also. Both were also great and we really liked their job. Juana just told her she wanted kind of a natural look, and Ana started working. They were also very easy to get along with. This is them working

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0055.jpg
Since the limo was scheduled to pick me up I think 10.30 or something, my mother was going to come over to our room to help Juana finish preparing at about 10. Yeah, right. My mother is always late. Even for Mexican time. So she arrived at the exact same time the Limo was arriving, so Juana had to go meet my mom, at the Coronado Springs lobby. That’s when she realized maybe CSR was as big as some have complained on these boards.
So, I was on he limo on the way to pick up Enriqueta, our guest. So I took this pick uf myself. Can you tell the day started early?
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0058.jpg
The limo driver was also very nice, as was most of the people during this day. I started shooting video of the limo, since I didn’t know when I would be inside one again. And I still don’t.
The short trip was uneventful, and we quickly arrived to our guest hotel. When I stepped down the limo to pick her up at the lobby, all the looks and congratulations and smiles started.
Enriqueta was already waiting, so we quickly got again in the limo and departed to the WP. She was doing small talk, but all I could think about was the upcoming ceremony. All that anticipation, mishaps, trip planning, etc. was about to end to give place to the ceremony. It was almost like watch it happen on the tv, out of the scene.
Here is a pick of the limo on the inside, with Enriqueta in the rear seat
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0057.jpg
Again, we quickly arrived to the WP, and let me tell you, all the pics I had previously seen make absolutely no justice to the place. It is simply beautiful. A feeling of peace took over me. Then I saw the schedule of the day
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0148.jpg
There were our last names. Bautisia/Sosa wedding. I didn’t even noticed that my DF last name was spelled wrong. Actually, she didn’t realize either, when she arrived. Neither we noticed when we reviewed the pics. We came to realize it like 2 weeks after we returned from the trip. But to tell you the truth, we don’t care very much about that.
So the limo dropped us off and went back to pick up my mother and Juana at our resort. We looked around, taking the atmosphere in, and taking some pictures. I saw the walkway ready with surprise number 1 for Juana: The rose petals in the walkway. I had told her we didn’t have budget for that kind of stuff, so she was not expecting them.

So, i was just waiting for the moment to come by, when the officiant arrived. She was a nice latin lady, since we wanted the ceremony in Spanish.
Here, let me open a parenthesis regarding the officiants. There are only 2 spanish-speaking officiants recommended by Disney, a Reverend and a Notary. We were really undecided about which one to choose, since we wanted more of a ‘spiritual’ ceremony, not a religious one. At first, we were impressed with the professionalism of the reverend, we could notice that he had performed lots of ceremonies, and was very proper and polite. The Notary maybe lacked experience, but was easy going and nice. So after going back and forth, we decided about the Reverend, after clarifying with him we didn’t want a religious ceremony. He said he was ok with that, and that we could give him our ceremony/vows.
Problem is, when we did, he said our ceremony was very nice, but it was ‘long, strange, and confusing’ and that he had never done anything like that. So, he sent us his ceremony and vows. Which were almost like a mass. This for us was a mess. When we told him that we definitely didn’t want that, and that he had previously agreed that we could use our own ceremony, he answered back that his ceremony was only a suggestion, and he could do ours. But the truth is, after what he had said about the script we sent him, we didn’t feel comfortable anymore, nor we were sure he would perform the ceremony in a good mood, so we decided to change to the Notary. She may have not been as professional or protocolary, but at least she liked the script and vows.
Ok, close parenthesis.
So, like I was saying, about half an hour before the ceremony she arrived, did the paperwork and chatted a little. We hadn’t rehearsed the ceremony before, so we tried to go over the main points, when the wedding coordinator arrived. I don’t remember her name now, because our ‘official’ wedding planner couldn’t make it to the ceremony. She was very, very nice, and made us feel very comfortable. She told me not to worry about anything, just enjoy the moment, and she would take care of everything. Which she did.
I waited inside the Pavillion, since I was setting our video camera to capture the ceremony. We had only decided in the last couple of weeks about taping, er, dvding? :confused3 the ceremony with an outside provider, but wanted to capture it with our own camera anyway. And I was a little worried actually because the camera man hasn’t arrived yet. He finally showed up about 15 min before the ceremony, much to my relief, and began taping and interviewing and etc.
So finally, the WC told me it was time, and to get ready to make my entrance, along with the officiant, It was kind of strange to make the entrance to an almost empty room (just one guest) but it was very emotional nevertheless.
So, the bells began to … well, sound (sorry, the correct name in English for the sound of the bells escapes from me right now). The WC cut the lace in the hallway. The doors opened. And there she was, in all her beauty, smiles, and romantic look :bride:, being walked down the hall by my mother. I could see all the excitement, happiness, a bit of sadness, and hope in her eyes. My mother had the same look ;). I could feel as if the time had stopped. But the ringing of my cell phone made me realize it hadn’t. I had forgotten to turn it off!!! The cell phone, I mean :headache:So just pressed a button so it stopped ringing, but it was all recorded. As was the intermittent beep to tell me I had a missed call. :sad2: I just don’t know why I didn’t simply turn it off.
The ceremony went well, with a few glitches here and there because of the lack of rehearsal, but to tell you the truth, those glitches were nothing compared to the moment we were living. We all remained near the altar of the WP, so it really didn't feel empty; as a matter of fact, since we were all close by, felt like a very intimate event, and we weren't opressed by the WP size. Let me also tell you that it is a beutiful place, even with no extra decoration, or flowers, or anything.:cloud9:
The ceremony ended too soon, and we couldn’t believe we were now married. And now was time for surprise number 2: rose petal toss at the exit. Juana also didn’t expect this, so she was moved when she saw it. Everybody cooperated for the toss: the musicians, the WC, the WC trainee, and made a real fuzz about it, which we were very thankful for. That’s when Juana lost it and began to cry.
We then did the photo session, which was an experience by itself. It really added to the ceremony, since it felt like it was part of it. You may have already seen the pics in a previous post of mine.
At the end, the Limo took us to the GF, where the next installment will take place…

After the ceremony, we stayed around for the photo session, which we really enjoyed. You can find the link for the pictures in one of the previous posts. For us, it was almost like part of the ceremony, and the photographer was really nice. We had the typical ‘family’ photos with all combinations of us & the guests. Fortunately there were only 2 of them!
Then we went out to the garden for more pictures, including the ones with the lake & the castle in the back.
The only thing we didn’t like in some of the pics, is that the videographer appears in some of them standing in the way. I guess he was not very used to work along with the Disney photographer. But we still like them anyway. Just not that much.
Someone took this one for us at the end of the ceremony
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0149.jpg
Then, on again into the limo en route for the Grand Floridian. The cake cutting was not going to be at the Terrace, because work was being done, but instead it would take place @ the Key West Room
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0150.jpg
When we stepped down the limo, we could understand why rock stars :rockband: and artists (well, performers) are so into it. Lots of nice looks, applauses, cheering… it is really a unique experience. I could get used to it. Could not get used to paying the bills, but certainly could get used to it.
When we made it into the room, the violinist started to play, and they all cheered. And Juana saw there the other surprise. Multi colored mickey confetti on the table, and the cake. Actually, her first look inside the room was for the confetti and the cake, never mind the people :goodvibes
Here, let me make yet another parenthesis, this one about our CM waiter, Erik. He is an elderly man, so sweet and kind. Juana felt he was almost like his father. He was full of good vibes. We almost felt uncomfortable about him taking care of us; we wanted to take care of him instead.
The wedding coordinator showed us how to cut the cake and the tradition about nibbling a bit from the hand of the other. Of the cake in the hand of the other, I mean.
We did the cake cutting and the first dance, which was ‘A Wonderful World’. It is the only name I remember from all the music we selected
We spent about half an hour there, eating cake for lunch and drinking champagne. We were really hungry by then, and were anxious that the time to have proper lunch at Fulton’s, arrived. Well, we were anxious about other things too, but the most imminent was lunch :thumbsup2
This is us @ Key West
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0152.jpg
After the included time ended, the videographer, violinist, wedding corrdinator and WC trainee left, but told us we could remain at the room for as long as we wanted. It was almost time for lunch, anyway, so we stayed only like 5 or 10 more minutes, and went to the GF lobby to take us some pictures. Here are them.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0164.jpg

Here we felt like celebrities again. Cheering, applause, curiosity looks, nice looks, chit chat, even some people took pics of us, as part of their Disney experience. It certainly was being a great experience for us. pixiedust:
Next, Lunch at Futons, and finally alone!

After the C&Ch toast, we went for our lunch resises at Fulton’s, which we have tried in our previous trip.
So, on we go in the limo, en route for DTD. We were still smiling and very excited both because of the ceremony and the attention we got @ the GF. And we were trying to enjoy our last minutes on said transportation media. Hey, for sure we will be in one again for our vow renewals… in about five years. Hopefully, with each other, again ;)
So we got down from the limo, and thanked our very attentive (is that even a word?) driver. Turns out it was his birthday and wasn’t supposed to be working on that day, but was the only one left for the wedding job, and was just waiting for us to end the event to go home.
We got more ooohs and aaahs and smiles and clapping (do we really need to wait five years for the renewal, I ask?) and we headed directly for Fulton’s. We got in, and waited for about 5 min… I don’t know why, because the place was almost empty. They sat us upstairs, and assigned a wonderful, patient, efficient and very kind waitress. And she even laughed at my jokes! :thumbsup2
SO we ordered lunch (I really can’t remember what) and some wine (mmm, maybe that’s why I can’t remember). I’m sure it was some kind of seafood :confused3
So we talked, and talked, and munched and talked some more, and made it like a two hours lunch, during which we had an excellent service and a yummy lunch (that, I remember) and at the end we did some more cake cutting, hoping to finish it. Fat chance. Literally.
By the way, our cake had different flavors in each layer. One was Marble cake with amaretto filling, and almond cake filled with peanut butter. Both were really yummy! Well, al least the first couple of days. Afterwards, we just kept on eating because we felt bad to throw it away, and to save breakfast money.
Anyway, after lunch we got out and walked thru part of DTD in order to get a couple of taxis. More oohs and ahhs and even some other people took pictures of us. Hey, there’s got to be a way to get this kind of attention, besides getting married at WDW!
And here, the unexpected pixie dust started to flow.:goodvibes As we were walking and taking pictures in the small bridge besides Planet Hollywood, a CM came by asking us if we were willing to take a survey. Remember that Juana was still in gown. Anyway, we accepted , and someone walking by began nagging the CM: ‘Can you see they are just married’ ‘Just give them a break’ etc etc.
Well, the CM got.. err.. urinated off at that person, answered back some stuff and said that since we were just married, and we had so kindly accepted , he would give us a Special Tinker pin! Very cute! And I don’t have a picture of that!
So we ended a survey, got the pin, and started looking for a couple of cabs- My mother quickly got one for her and our guest, and we waited for another one… but we didn’t see any, not even at the taxi stand… so another CM was walking by, and we asked her where we could get one. She pointed us to the taxi stand, which was empty. Then she asked us if we had just married, of course we aqnswered yes. She told us to wait for a minute, stepped a few steps away from us, and talked over her adio… then another CM came. The first CM told us the 2nd CM was a manager, and were trying to get some pixie dust for us. That we should not be worrying about getting transportation on our wedding day. A few minutes later, a van pulled off, and the driver stepped down, with bow tie and all, and said “I’m CM number three, and will be your driver for tonight” So we got a complimentary ride back to our hotel!
These were the first sparks of pixie dust that we would get all over the trip.
When we finally got back to our room. There was yet another surprise for Juana… the newlyweds gift basket, with our wedding ears!
That was, finally, the end of our day… or at least, of what I can write here regarding that day. ;)
We were tired, happy, excited and ready to spend the rest of our honeymoon at the World. :lovestruc Our plan for the next day was to go to World Showcase and visit many countries. We were really looking forward for lunch @ Rose & Crown, and … Cirque du Soleil at night! That, in the next instalment.
We only have a couple of pictures of pictures from our lunch, and here they are…

There were a couple of sad moments, specially right after the ceremony, and during cake and toast, where she cried because she missed her parents. However, since we taped the event, she was able to record a message for her parents, and recently they saw it, and were very emotional about it. :goodvibes Thank you for your sympathy!

So it was our first day after the marriage! We got up at about 7 (really) and had some yummy cake for breakfast, with lots of coffee (I know, healthy) but since we had ADR for Rose & Crown at 12.30, we were ok with such fillings for our tummies.
As I mentioned, our room was just across the parking lot from bus station 3a at CSR, so we put our Mickey & Minnie bridal ears, our just married buttons and we went to conquer de world!
Our plan was to go to World Showcase at Epcot, and pretend we were travelling the world for our Honeymoon. So, on to the bus stop. There, some people began commenting about being just married, thinking the ears were just a game. When we convinced them otherwise, it was all cheering and congratulating. They took a picture of us:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0077.jpg
They said I was too serious, that I should try to look like a just married man! So this was the result:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0076.jpg
Juana began wondering why everybody was laughing, so turned around to look at me, and I quickly changed my smile.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/DCAM0078.jpg

Sometime later, when we returned to our room, saw the pictures and understood the smiles.
We made a short stop at Finding Nemo, we find that attraction very cute, and had a walk around
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0172.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0175.jpg
Then we began seeing all the countries. The idea was to see all the shows in our way to England, and found out that we could see them all if we ran to the neighboring country as soon as the current country show was ending. So we saw France, Morocco and Japan. We liked Morockin’,
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0190.jpg
and while we liked them, we didn’t like the dancer very much. All the steps were performed in a very clean and elegant way, but kind of basic. That, didn’t stop me to take a picture of her, along with my now wife ;)
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0205.jpg
We really loved the theming of Morocco; we think is the best of all Epcot. We loved the small alley where the restaurant is

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0197.jpg
One very nice thing about wearing the ears, is that almost everybody that saw we were taking pictures of each other, offered to take pictures of both of us together :wizard: and of course congratulated and best wished us :cloud9:
Following the lines of a global market, we imported our drinks from France into Morocco
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0192.jpg
Ahhh those grand marnier slushies are just sooo good.
Then we went to Japan, where we loved the Drums. For some reason, we don’t have pictures of Japan, I think because it was almost time for our ressies at Rose and Crown. We were told to wait for about 10 minutes, so we did… what else? Look into a store :3dglasses. Outside of which, we had another picture taken
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0183.jpg
We finally made it into Rose and Crown. I know there are mixed reviews about this place, but we really loved this place. We ordered the chees esampler for starter, and while we thought it was expensive for the amount of cheese, all of them were really good, and the companions for the cheese were great. Then we had the fish and chips and the bangers with mash. Both dishes were very good. This is me enjoying
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0184.jpg
We shared half and half of the dishes, and were more than happy with our selection.
After having lunch and a couple of beers, we went to visit Italy, where we had the grappa Margaritas. Another drink we really enjoyed. Can you begin to see a pattern here? It wasn’t ‘Around the world in 80 days’, but ‘Around the world in 80 drinks’
We went back to France to take this picture

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0186.jpg
And this pic in Morocco. One too many slushies? Juana is taking belly dance lessons, so thought this would be a good time to strike a pose
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0203.jpg
We made it back to our room to freshen up and get dressed for the Cirque. We knew this Cirque was at a vacation spot and informality in wearing, but we wanted to make this special and we dressed like going to the theatre.
Remember that I told you Juana doesn’t like to feel like she’s very feminine? How feminine is this?
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0227.jpg
We were still enchanted by the ceremony the day before, and all the fun we had in Epcot. It really is a very romantic place, if looked at, with romantic eyes.

Let me tell you, the Cirque is awesome. We had seen a couple of shows, but maybe it was the pixiedust or the sound system but this one was our favorite. Even when we have seen some of the performances at the other productions. We were sitting on the side (middle category), first row, and while for some of the acrobatics was hard to look up, we really liked being so close to the performers. The clowns were great, and really had us laughing. Everything was perfect.
So we were all cozy when the day ended, and we felt more coziness when we saw this while exiting the show

It was made with water over the pavement, thanking everyone for coming to the show. This, also, for some strange reason that I don’t quite understand yet, felt very cute and romantic WINK.
On the way back to our room, we decided to walk all the way from the main building. Let me tell you:CSR at night is even more beautiful. All in dark, with the lights in the buildings around the like… the smells… everything.
Our first day as a married couple had ended, And had been dream-like. We could only wonder about things to come. We spent some time outside the room, enjoying the cold, the peace…

:goodvibesOK, I have to say about your lovely wife, Red is her color!! She looks amazing in it! The red theatre dress makes her look like a vintage hollywood movie star! What a night you must have had, Cirque is such a great show, and La Nouba is one of my fave Cirque shows as well:goodvibes

And I like how you think "Around the World in 80 Drinks":rotfl2:! My DF and I like to sample the tasty drinks too, the Orange Slush is my fave, but I will have to try that Grappa Maragarita next time too! And when you don't have to worry about driving home, I say why not right! It is a vacation after all!:goodvibes

What can I say, I thinks she looks very nice in different colors ;) Just like a Mac notebook :thumbsup2

It really was a great night, we just bought the La Nouba DVD and all the time is 'Awww' and 'Oohhh' because of the memories.

Ok, this will be a short update, since HS is our least favorite park, even when we love rockin'roller coaster and tower of terror. Oh, and star tours, at a far 3rd place. ANd I almost forgot, the atrraction that preceds all of them... Toy Story Mania, which we hadn't ridden yet.

But before all, Here's another pic of JTDW (Just Turned Dear Wife) when we came back from the Cirque. CSR is really a romantic hotel. The pic is very dark, but I think you get the idea

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0239.jpg

The next day, we got up early (we still had energy) and we had... cake for breakfast. lots of it. We still thought it was yummi.

Our plan for the day was to get as early as we could for HS, to ride TT and RNC, and try the new attrraction. And visit good old star tours. We don't like much else of the park, but we were on for a nice surprise there.

We were also meeting my mother and Enriqueta later in the day, since, as you may recall, my mother is always late. We decided to get most of the day, and have them call us when they arrived at the park.

We headed for Toy Story Mania to get fastpasses, and then walked to get to ToT or RNC, still undecided about which one to ride first. So were talking and teh like, when we watched everything getting ready for a 'movie shot' by renewed director Otto von von von (applause)

So while they were setting all up, said director began chatting with everybody, and when he saw our just married buttons, congratulated us and asked 'how long have you been married?' I answered '2 days'. He said 'wow, 2 days and both are still smiling, that is a Hollywood record' and everybody cheered and applauded

We watched the whole show, which we found to be very funny (you have to search for it, but found it at the end).

I don't remeber the order of the rides, but I do remeber the bellman for the Tot telling us that 'our nuptial suite was ready' It is deffinetly those small details that make the Disney Magic.
Another thing I remember, was that on one of those 'random' falls, one went from all the way up, to the rock bottom. :scared1:

Finally it was time for our fastpasses for toy story... and boy did we loved that attraction!!! :cool1: we only rode it one more time (I think wait time was close to an hour) before mother got into the park.

When at Disney, well, mostly at Disney, she turns into a little girl, look at her face having her frozen lemonade

So we went into Star Tours. We love the theming for the queue, even more than the ride itself. This is my fav pic.

I don't remember exactly what we did, or where we ate (CS) but it was time for Fantasmic! We love that show (mmm maybe we love all things Disney :confused3)

While waiting for the event, it sprinkled a couple of times, and we were affraid that the show could be cancelled. Fortunatelly, the rain decided not to show and we enjoyed very much.

Our guest Enriqueta also had some pixie dust, when she was buying some lite-up stuff for her grand daugther back in Mexico. When the CM learned about this, she gave her a Tinker pin ( i think) for her!

After the show, we still were able to watch the Osborne Family show of lights, sponsored by Sylvana. The music seletion this time was much better than 2 years ago!

On an end comment this day, I hadn't wore the mickey ears bridal hat, only the button, but my DW took her veil. We can tell you that we didn't receive as much attention as we did when both of us were wearing the hats, so there is a tip for you. We confirmed this by the fact that almost no one offered to take our pictures as a couple, and that is why Juana is missing from the pics this day. On another day, we went back with the hats, and got lots of pixie dust, but that is another installment.

This was the last view we had of the park (sorry about the dark pic).

This day, we again woke up early (about 7ish) and walked to the CSR main building to get some coffee (which we wouldn't had need if we stopped getting uo so early for a vacation!) and had our favorite carb breakfast, wedding cake.

This day, was apponted for Animal Kingdom, and later on... dinning at T-Rex! This was Enriqueta's last day at Orlando, se we wanted to give her a good experience for farewell. We had watched videos and pics re: the restaurant, and were anxious to be there.

But that was still a long 14 hr away from that moment.

So, we got to AK and headed straight for our favorite ride there... Expedition Everest!!! We love the theming, the broken bus that sells the ice cream when you walk closer, the 'museum' of the queue, and of course the ride itself. Even if the yeti is in a, b or c mode. Even if the very fake eagle at the top is not there. Even if I always get motion sickness when it goes backwards... I think is just like a marriage ;)

Here is my loved one in the queue

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0259.jpg

It was a great ride, and then we were on for our second favorite ride... Dinosaur!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0260.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0262.jpg

We also loved that one. In general, we like AK a lot.

On our way out, while passing thru chester and hester amusement park, we found my dear's other hero:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0265.jpg

Remember, crispy outside, tender inside ;)

so we had to have our picture taken. This was not a very good picture, but it was real fun to take, They all amde a big fuzz about being just married. Unfortunately we don't have a picture of that, but we have this.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0266.jpg

We had agreed to meet my mother and enriqueta for lunch, and it was closer to that time, so we started moving towards the tree of life, where we found...

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee1/itmickey/Trip%20report%20pics/PIC_0267.jpg

I have to interrupt the update here, since is getting late on a sunday night and not even writing about such a fond memory, takes away the sunday blues :sad1: In moments like this, what keeps me going is the thought of my work :surfweb: paying for those memories :goodvibes
