All the clothing piles are small so far. I am just pulling princess shirts out at this point... I won't do major packing via zip lock bags until the weekend!

Bags (two different size Vera Bradley backpacks, my sleeping beauty Tote, two Vera Bradley Duffles.... I know this is a crazy pile)

In our dining room:

Our park bag stuff - I would like to pack this stuff together. I think it would make my life easier if this bag of stuff was ready. I have a feeling it will be packed and labeled in zip locks closer to the time.

Checked Bag stuff (Tolietries we cannot wait till Thursday on)

Girls Entertainment on Plane stuff

Food Stuff

Carry on stuff

My parents for sure stuff

This downstairs stuff is mostly purchases, travel size things. There will be no clothing downstairs.

Luke Food. I will need to see how these Gerber Graduates are doing for him and get some more of his favorites along with baby cereal and possibly formula.

Some big zip lock bags the jumbo size.

I also need some carry on sunscreen!


On the school front. I finally know where I am moving. So let the packing begin---- got to find some boxes!

Hey Laura!!!! So glad you guys enjoyed UP! We loved it too!!!! I'm sorry I missed out on the Single Digit Dancing.....computer broke at SUCH a bad time!!!! But I am back up and running now!!!

Make a list of everything you will NEED until the latest you think you will see your parents. Make sure ALL of that is with you. Then look at your stuff/stash and decide (if you have room) if there is anything else that is not necessary, but might be useful to have before then as well. Pack that stuff with you according to availability in luggage, and then pack everything else up to be sent with your parents. Start making as many lists on any topic that is running through your mind, and by the time the trip is here, everything will be all worked out!!! 8 DAYS!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!

I am going to mark up my packing list later tonight according to this plan you shared later tonight. The problem with the packing list is I have not put Luke stuff on it... yikes!

I for a while struggled with where to pack. I think my two floor piles will serve me well. I did not want to pack in the basement ... that would be a lot of dragging things down. This might be the best way!

We have only done the movies at the beach, at the Beach Club resort. They set up a large screen and show the movie on it. Everyone just sits in a lounge chair on the beach and watches the movie. It starts at 9. They also have a fire pit an hour earlier for s'mores. The other fun thing is to walk over to the Boardwalk and watch the performers, magicians, jugglers and such.

No piles or planning today. It was a super busy day... and tomorrow will be no different, I am actually hoping for rain so my kids won't want to play outside tomorrow night!

Today is my last day of school, a teacher workday! So once I wrap things up at school... no school until August for me!!!! I really think my girls don't believe me that school is done, it has gone on way longer than Hannah's preschool and our neighbors!

Then tonight we have a softball game, then I plan to get some major packing done after bedtime... only four days to go!

Another trip moment happened yesterday, we went to Kings Island for the afternoon once I was done with school. There is a "dark, Buzz Lightyear" type Scooby Doo ride that I took Luke on, and he was fine. Just looked around no worries! It gives me hope that he will ride whatever he can at WDW without many issues!

That was our first packing indecision... which princess to be? You should see my dress up rack in the basement... we have them all (literally-- and two snow whites)

I sent some home with my parents tonight. I hope to get the bags basically done tomorrow....we have a birthday party for my niece and my graduation party for my student .... we will see what gets done!

Yay for packing!! Packing is such a chore, BUT, you always know something fun and exciting is around the corner when you are doing it! I hope you are able to get everything squared away without much stress!

Oh, Laura -- one more thing -- they now have pink Mickey head soap at Basin -- very cute and strawberry scented -- also, they still have the yellow Mickey head soap by the register -- I bought a bar of each.

Also, they no longer carry the Where the Magic Lives CD, but LL told me about the Four Parks, One World 2-CD set, and it has all the best music from all four parks. It is great! We listened to it all the way home.

No sign of the Mickey ice cream bar bag though. :(

To my surprise, you're going back with Baby (big boy) Luke! Yippee! I was so excited to see that you are going again and staying for a nice size trip. You may need to do a 411 on how to pack a family of 4 for over a week in just carry ons. You are super woman! The girls are so cute, it seems like they have grown so much! AND Luke... oh my, oh my! He is so big! Goodness, I thought he was just born ;)

I am super excited for you guys and really can't wait to read all about the trip with the whole family!

I cannot believe that in 36 hours we will be on the plane to Orlando. Most everything is packed... just a few (and I mean a few-- I had to submit my list to my packing general... dh) items left to fit in the bags. I think we are sending a suitcase and three bags with my parents and carrying on 4 plus probably two personal items.

Here is our plan for the week:

June 16th-Arrive early afternoon, swim, explore, DTD

June 17th - Breakfast at Ohana's (super excited... first time doing breakfast there), swim see my parents that evening when they arrive in Orlando.

June 18th- AK

June 19th- EPCOT with Dinner at Coral Reef

June 20th- Magic Kingdom with dinner at Chef Mickey's

June 21st - Hollywood Studios

June 22nd- Magic Kingdom breakfast at Crystal Palace and dinner at LeCellier in EPCOT

June 23- ????? until dinner at Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package

June 24- our anniversary at MK with lunch at CRT

June 25- return home that afternoon:sad1:

The no check caused a bit of friction tonight. I missed the memo that it meant one bag, so a total of four bags! I also have a bag that is my diaper bag and my big vera backpack for the girls to use to store their stuff for the plane. Then we will have to carry on the DVD player.... yikes!

The first day sounds lovely. Ease into Disney magic with the kids with the swimming and Downtown activities.

The characters at 'Ohana were great! Brooklynn could barely eat a bite as she watched the characters from a distance at every table until they got to here. She kept asking us, "Mickey come see me?" "Lilo (only it sounded like Lill-o) come see me?" while patting her chest with the palm of her hand. It was so sweet. She ate about ten cents worth of food! :cutie:

As long as you have the 'go with the flow' attitude, you'll have a great time, no matter what the schedule is!

June 16th-Arrive early afternoon, swim, explore, DTD

June 17th - Breakfast at Ohana's (super excited... first time doing breakfast there), swim see my parents that evening when they arrive in Orlando.

June 18th- AK

June 19th- EPCOT with Dinner at Coral Reef

June 20th- Magic Kingdom with dinner at Chef Mickey's

June 21st - Hollywood Studios

June 22nd- Magic Kingdom breakfast at Crystal Palace and dinner at LeCellier in EPCOT

June 23- ????? until dinner at Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package

June 24- our anniversary at MK with lunch at CRT

June 25- return home that afternoon:sad1:

We're melting in Tennessee. It's so humid it's like taking a steam bath just to get groceries in from the car! :eek:

Luke was probably the best... he was so good, much better than I expected at the parks. Nights were not perfect... he was a bit noisey.

June 16 Headed to WDW!

It was easy to get up and finish the last few things before we pulled out in our minivan. We only had a stroller and 4 bags since we were not checking luggage. The rest was coming with my parents the next day. We had our bag ready to get on our suits and be at the Big Dig Site early afternoon.

My father in law jumped in and took us to the airport... which saved time and energy. We were supposed to depart at 11, but upon arriving at the airport... a twenty minute delay! Security was easy, I felt terrible about the large amounts of Luke food and formula I had brought with me, but I did not want to be without! They did take out every item but did not hassle me in regards to the Gerber Graduates, formula and snacks I had for him. In fact I took some juice boxes and water bottles through in Orlando on the way home to make the bottle making easier.

No worries, it actually allowed us to order some lunch and feed the kids some before we boarded. Luke and I sat on the single seat, the girls and DH on the other side. Pretty uneventful except for we were by the wing so it was louder--- hard for the girls to watch a movie and I had to change a poopy diaper on the plane-- yes they have changing tables! Hannah had some ear issues as we started to land. I did take Clorox wipes to wipe down everything... I did not want sick kids! Luke fell asleep in the aisle with a tad bit of a rock on my part, but he really did not make a peep... much better than the flight home:rolleyes1

We arrived about 1:20, visited the ladies room and walked straight down to board the ME buses. We did not have to check in at the counter since we had our paperwork (this was new to us). We walked straight onto a bus and got no more than seated and we were off! YEAH!

Our first stop was Pop Century... I thought of you all MeMom- less than one month! It was busy there and we dropped off a few, and I also changed another stinky diaper (Luke is not a man who likes dirty pants) and ran it the trash at our next stop, Carribean Beach!

Finally it was our stop, Coronado Springs! I had not done online checkin since I was praying that we would not change rooms, get the 8A building we wanted and have adjoining rooms with my parents. DH sent me and the girls colored.

I can't believe how late you stayed up last night! :eek: Loving all the hints you gave and now I am even more excited to hear all about your trip!

It was incredibly hot when we were there, and I think it was much hotter than it normally is this time of year. There were a couple of times that we were just absolutely miserable from the heat.

We had horrid storms last night, lightening and rain... wild weather. Plus I was WAY behind on the DIS!

It was hot, way hotter than any trip I could remember. I figure it can't ever be hotter, and I plan to never take an infant again (or at least one that is mine)

I'm thinking AKV or BLT. I can't wait to hear all about your trip.

I know what you are saying about the Pack'n'Play. Last month when we went to Hershey, B. was not a fan. He was also not a fan of sleeping past 5 am or taking afternoon naps. :laughing: Good thing we were having fun or all of us would have been bears.

Luke had the best nap a long one in his crib this morning. I am sure he is so happy to be free again!

That's what Floridians are saying. The guys on the DIS podcast said it has just been miserable. It's been brutal up here, too, though. I think it's supposed to be 96 today.

If we had been anywhere but Disney I would have hated it, but how can you not be happy at Disney. We did have a clip on fan for Luke in the stroller. It helped, does Jill have one for Bella?

Ty was fine in the room's pack-n-play when he was 5 months but wanted nothing to do with it at 10 months!! I requested a crib for next week's stay. It was a "duh" moment b/c I completely forgot I could do that when we went in Dec!! Hope it all worked out for you!! :goodvibes

It was truly a magical moment when he said that to me... lump in throat excitment!

I made DH change Ty's dirty diaper on the plane in Dec...he isn't a small guy either! I'm evil..I know. ;) He couldn't believe there was room for changing tables in there!

I never want to do that again....how do you do it with a big kid?

Our first stop was Pop Century... I thought of you all MeMom- less than one month! It was busy there and we dropped off a few, and I also changed another stinky diaper (Luke is not a man who likes dirty pants) and ran it the trash at our next stop, Carribean Beach!

Bella can't stand a wet or stinky diaper either. She wants them changed right away. As soon as you start changing her, she settles down and smiles, as if to say, "That's much better, big people." :cutie:

As the man said that I was almost ready to cry, because I had overheard the "deal" being offered to the family next to us. He proceeded to tell me that they needed to move some guests to a deluxe resort, the Contemporary. He wanted to move us for two nights (we had a two night room only reservation before our package). I waved DH down to join us while the girls watched TV. Then it got even better when he said they would give us one night for free. All we had to do was say yes, the would take us over in a van and we were set.

I must admit I was wishing for another hotel. The Contemporary is not a place I had ever thought about staying. It just did not appeal to me...
Also remember we had decided to stay at CSR for those first two nights even though we could have saved over 100 dollars to stay at another Moderate, but we did not want to move... my how things change!

I had a few questions for the manager, Laura who had come over. She said we would have no problem just picking up our tickets at MK or a park even tomorrow. (Remember this....)Our luggage would be moved back too. She also said she would do a set of the Mugs for us (I knew that CSR had special ones) when we returned since we had planned on buying them and I was not buying a set for two days and then another set. She also took our request for 8A again, with adjoining rooms and promised that. So we were off....and I realized that my planning was out the door- I knew nothing about the Contemporary, except that our breakfast at the Poly tomorrow was going to be a breeze to get too!!!

The CM who checked us in drove us over and explained they had a building that was supposed to be done by 5 and they where worried it would not be ready. So that is why we got some pixie dust spread our way. We arrived at the Contemporary at around 3....

I cannot imagine being pregnant in that heat. It was just unbelievable, much hotter than last year. The pool water at both hotels was too warm, and that was by far the first time I thought that!

Emily has some fantastic pics this trip. Hannah had an incident that impaired her smiles... and Luke just took a Smile Luke to turn it on.

Let's just say CSR needs some lessons from the Contemporary staff! There is not a big mess, and I did learn some things.....

I was shocked. I think the Contemporary was not near capacity. The pool was pretty dead and the wing we were in seemed pretty empty too. I think they moved a bunch of people there, most for one night. To be honest I would not have moved for one night... too much work!

My mind was racing... my parents had planned to dump stuff with us the next night, we had plannned to go to AK our first day, which is super fair from the Contemporary... yikes! For some reason, out of all the monorail resorts, that is the one I really want to stay in. I am keeping my finger crossed for BLT in January 2011. Yeah, I'm really planning that far ahead! :rotfl:


It is fun to plan way ahead... I really think planning is so much of the fun!

We actually got rack rate credit, which is not what I had paid. Along with other credits... but that comes later-

I never did find it - I had never heard of them moving a family to another resort, so I was thinking more along the line of one of the suites at CSR. I'll keep the "secret" quiet...;) I think CP might have something similar up her sleeve...

That is SO great about getting rack rate credit!!!!!!!!!! :wizard: That's like $300 isn't it???! And other credits? AWESOME! I'm so excited to read about them all!

Yep, someday we will stay at BLT-when it's inital popularity has worn off and we can get it at 7 months. I wish their rooms were the same as the main hotel though, I think the main hotel is prettier, but I do like BLT too-and the monorail with small kid(s)....I think I would LOVE that.

Arrival Day, June 16th part 2

Where was I? Oh that is right we had just checked into the CONTEMPORARY! I figured right away we were headed to a garden view room. I think over the past nine years I have priced out those rooms, hoping for a steal, and now they were paying me to stay in one!

So we listened to the directions and headed out towards the pool. I think the girls wanted to jump in right away.... and then down some long corridors, to our room.

Here are some pics I snapped quickly, but know that my girls had SWIM on the must do!

Our view was of Bay Lake (and yes we could see the water parade from it). I loved being on the ground floor with the patio, it came in handy the next morning... and we meet some friends out there too!

We hurried to get in our swimsuits, and were off to the pool. My thought was dip for Luke and then he would nap poolside (hey a mom can wish right). We hoped to swim a few hours before going to DTD. We also hoped to see the Water Parade that night, since it was on the great page of activities that the Contemporary had! We saw lots to do tomorrow... my girls were ready!

Along the way we called and told my parents...we somewhat screwed up the plans for the next night. My parents had planned to unload at CSR when they got to the World, since they were staying at a deal off site for the night. Then we decided they would meet us at the Contemporary and unload some stuff with us, since we could have it moved back to CSR (remember this.... we tried to make our move easy on us)

wow.....so cool that you got moved to CR! it's not my dream resort or anything but i'd jump at the chance to stay there a couple of nights just to experience it. that kids check-in is so cute! can't wait to see how it all turns out!
