Those crocs are adorable! Pretty good deal too. I love shopping for Disney!

They have some good deals online there now Crocs.com. I think they are lowering prices to make sure they can stay okay. The economy is hurting them I guess!

I'm getting caught back up!

First of all, holy crap I can't believe how big the girls have gotten!! They are growing up so fast! And Luke is so cute, I want to grab his chubby little face! SUCH a cute little family!

I LOVE the Crocs, they will be so cute wearing them!

It is amazing how big Emily has gotten since her first trip. She saw a picture with a pacifer in her mouth and was mortified. I could just bottle up them and keep them little, but I sure could use some rest!

Love the Crocs---so adorable!!!! Did you get them at a Disney store or somewhere else? Megan would LOVE those beyond words!!! Today we were at our mall doing some summer snooping---I have Gymboree and Children's Place coupons burning holes in my pockets but they aren't good until March......so we wanted to snoop out what we liked first! She had $5 from a Valentine's card she wanted to spend, so she got a pair of Princess flip flops at the Disney store that were only $6.50. She is a happy camper, but can't WAIT until summer weather is here so she can wear them!

What gymboree coupon do you have that starts then- I have one for now... I was refrained. I forget you still have the Disney store... I might have to make a trip down there before we go. The Crocs were at the Croc kiosk at Kenwood or they have them online too.

I LOVE my Tevas! I ordered both my girls Teva Mush flips because I love mine so much. I think we may take the Tevas and Crocs and alternate.

I think you have to rotate shoes at WDW!

Those crocs are SO cute! I have never seen the Tink ones before:goodvibes

I really did not get them anything for Valentine's Day, so I splurged. I have warned them already that Easter Bunny might just get a WDW gift card for them ---- they need nothing, and they love to have their own $ to spend!

I am SO glad you said something---I must have looked at this coupon wrong and thought it started on March 8th, but it ENDS then!!!!! :scared1: It is for 20% off your entire purchase including sale items!!! Can you imagine the anguish I would have felt if I would have gone in there to use it and discovered it was expired!!! They would have had to peel me off the floor! I am going to have to check out our Croc section at the Dillard's in the Crestview Hills Towne Centre---they probably have them!!! The Easter bunny might need to do some shopping!!! ;o) Thanks sweetie!

Glad to support our economy:rotfl2: . It is hard for me not to use the coupon when it is good on sale items. I love love love to get deals there for the girls and Luke! Good luck with the crocs-

So I will have some sort of update this weekend... probably about random trip plans. I also am getting so excited for June hours- I sure hope they come out next weekend, so I can finalize some plans before my ADR window opens.

On another note my nieces and nephew are headed to WDW today- they are staying at the Poly so I am so excited to hear about all the fun! Here is hoping for some great weather for them this next week, but anything is great compared to the cold weather here!

I can't wait to get updated on your trip!

Our neighbors leave tonight for a week in the World. They are staying off-site though :faint: . When I started explaining EMH, Dining Plan, and all the different resorts they were regretting not staying onsite. I had to reign it in a little, didn't want my Disney Freak Flag to fly too high! :rotfl:

They did say "You know a lot about Disney World." I was thinking they had no idea!!:rotfl:

I have a Disney Freak Flag... I try to maintain composure. Last week at school one of my students (a boy) had been in FL after Christmas (missed a week of school). His mom brought in a Snapfish book she had made... mind you he failed to tell me he went to WDW.. just told me the beach. I loved seeing their book and had to pry as to how they got a picture with Alladin, Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White and the step-mom from Snow White.... how could a kid fail to mention WDW?????????

The June hours should be out March 1. I read on another one of my many Disney sites that the are putting out the current month hours along with the next three months. So when March 1 gets here they should have out also April, May and June. I am PATIENTLY waiting as well because we go June 9-18.

While Disney is constantly on my mind we have been super busy lately. School is crazy and with two girls with cabin fever we have been busy! While I wait for June hours, TGM and our reservation window to open here are some of my latest planning thoughts:

Stroller- we will be taking a single stroller for Luke, and renting the double again for the girls. There is no way Hannah can walk it yet, and to get our double stroller on the buses is a nightmare in my mind. I hope to umbrella stroller it with Luke, or take our bigger stroller for him. If I find a good deal on a stroller I might buy something that is lightweight and reclines. Suggestions?

Flying- still might if we find a good deal/tax return is good (still have not figured it). We would be lucky to have my parents being able to bring food/misc stuff since they for sure will drive.

Spending $ for kids- The Easter bunny is bringing a WDW themed basket (for car ride entertainment and necessities) and a gift card for them.

Hoppers- I am 99% sure we will get them. That takes pressure off of deciding how to use the extra days and makes getting our ADRs a bit easier.

Bippity Boppity Boutique- we are not doing this since Emily would want to if I let Hannah. I want to wait until she is at least 4.

Groceries- so excited to know I won't fly with food snacks this trip. We will be able to take water, cokes, juice boxes and snacks along with cereal for breakfast.

Photopass- Already in a group! Yea!!!!

Park bag- I dread to think what I will have to take for Luke. I want to take our backpack and probably a bag to always have with me with essentials (camera, tickets). I have a extra large Vera Bradley Backpack that I might use for these essentials instead of my Sleeping Beauty bag from the last two trips. Still thinking about this.

ADRs- to be honest I have not decided our last meal. I am leaning toward Whispering Canyon Cafe, but have a few other ideas. Now that we are more sure about Hoppers it adds to the options of where to eat!

Has anyone had dinner at Big River Grille and Brewing Works--- I would like to try it out maybe, and since it is between EPCOT and MGM it might fit great in our week!

I know that even though we almost 4 months still it will go quick. Hannah is playing softball this spring, we will be back in swim lessons for the girls and well soon Luke will be mobile... I think time will fly!

I'm hoping flying works for you. Get there quickly and get home quickly. It's very nice. We drove at Thanksgiving, and traffic was horrible coming home. We didn't get in until the middle of the night/morning, and then I had to drive to Nashville from Huntsville a couple of hours later to go to school that morning. We've already got our July flight. It's nice to know we'll just be there shortly after we leave, but it's even better on the coming home end!

The Easter Bunny is a very wise man. Um, hare. :thumbsup2
That will create excitement about the trip and give the girls the anticipation of having money to spend all on their own.

Hoppers will make things very much easier for you.

Time probably will fly as you fill your weeks with softball and swimming fun!

Any planning you do just makes the trip seem that much more real and ever closer. :cool1:

If you want, I'd be glad to send your kids a postcard from their Disney friends when I go in March. Let me know. I know it will still be a few months out from your trip, but they still might like it.

You are right -- I think four months is going to fly by -- I caught myself thinking the same thing yesterday when I realized we are only three and a half months away!

WDW Themed Basket: This sounds like a cute idea -- you will tell us what the Easter Bunny puts in it, right? The Easter Bunny may want to bring one to us, too. ;) I think I am going to do gift cards this year for Chelsea and Connor -- they will be easier to keep up with, I think.

Hoppers: That's the way I am leaning right now, too -- mainly to avoid DHS crowds and also, because I keep thinking we may want to head to MK in the evenings to play.

BBB: I think this is a wise move, and it will be something to look forward to in the future.

Photopass: Have you done a share before? I am wondering if I should do one or not.

You're right, 4 months will fly by. Kid activities especially seem to make life busy and time go faster.

I like the Easter basket too. Are you leaning more towards gift cards than Disney Dollars? My dad sent us a bunch of DD for Christmas which I was thinking of putting in baskets and then converting the rest to gift cards? I don't know.

We weren't planning on hopping this time because of the extra cost for 5 people and the length of time we'll be there, but your thoughts have me reconsidering.

Always so much to do and little to no time to do it in....right?!?!?! BUT OH WHAT FUN!!!

Two notes:

On the stroller front, if you are looking for a stroller that is lightweight and can fold up like an umbrella BUT does recline, I HIGHLY recommend the Maclaren. THEY ARE GREAT!!! Sometimes you can find slightly used ones on eBay for really great deals---even if you don't, I think they are worth their money!!! The only ones that don't recline I think are the Volos---but even those are really nice. They fold up like umbrella strollers and even have a shoulder carrying strap---I think the heaviest weighs only about 13lbs. Just an FYI!!! I think Lesley has one too, so I think she would probably agree on the stroller!

BBB---I TOTALLY think that is a good idea to wait until Miss Em is a little older--I am sure they will be just fine even without the "Royal Treatment!"

Four months will fly by! I think spring/early summer goes by quickly anyways, throw in a Disney trip and it really will.

I think you will like the hoppers. I can't imagine not having them. We used our hopping ability quite a bit last trip. I found that going to a different park, even for dinner kept us going and refreshed instead of getting too tired at one park if that makes sense.

I love our Maclaren stroller. All of them are lightweight, fold and recline easily. the thing I love the most is that they feel like a sturdy stroller. I have had great ordering luck from Albee Baby for strollers. They have free shipping over $100 and get things out very quickly. They also have a lot of earlier year's models that they sell for a song. We have a Volo (which does not recline) that I got for under $100. I think the Quest is the next size up and runs about $150.

BTW... so excited you are planning another trip! I love reading about your family's adventures and living Disney vicariously through you.

Your random trip plans sound like my random trip thoughts. I too am driving this year and am looking forward to being able to bring more food than I normally bring in my suitcase.

You are too sweet MeMom.. I will take you up on that! I know they would love it, I think they are getting one this week from their cousins.

I think that the Easter baskets will be practical. I need to look at our packing list and make some of the items we need to buy become their basket treats (sunscreen- Disney perhaps)...

And, don't forget, there are lockers you can rent!

Does it have parade and wishes music on it too? I would love to have it on my ipod for classroom music. We start each morning with Zip a Dee Do Dah by Aly and AJ, Welcome Back Kotter, then Beautiful Life (John and Kate plus 8) by then they need to have their agenda's filled out and pencils sharpened, I use lots of music cues in my room and would love to have some more park music...

We have the soundtrack to the Finding Nemo show in AK (the only thing we did in AK last trip). The kids LOVE it - we have to take a break from whatever we're doing and sing/dance to the Crush song every time. My DSIL also got me the special event music while they were in the MK for MNSSHP (since I was dealing with a sickie and couldn't stop when we were there), and we love that one, too. I get "Boo to You" in my head and can't stop!

On our last trip my two kiddos carried cheap water bottles I got at...Target? Wal-Mart? Meijer???? I can't remember, but I happened across them. They were Tink and Wall-e and had straps to go around their necks. At least I didn't have to schlep along water for them AND everything for my littlest guy (5 mo. at the time). They also had fans they could strap around their necks to keep them cool. Granted, these things were in the basket under the baby's stroller a lot of the time, but it was still one less thing for me and something for them (7 and 4 1/2 at the time) to be responsible for. I'd like to find little fanny packs for them for our 2010 trip. Of course, by then, the baby will be two, so I won't have AS much to be hauling around (just diapers and sippy cups...)
I'll have to check out our church's SCRIP offerings, too...if they have Disney cards, we're set! We'll be sending half the parish to school for free. :rotfl2: I love getting tips in these reports...gives me an excuse to read. :ssst:

For some reason I can't get my photobucket to work. I e-mailed you a snapfish album from that trip that shows the stroller. You can see her rididng and sleeping. :)

We have this one:
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2888105&moduleName=Brand+Name+Secondary

The only thing I don't like about it is the basket is super small, but it seemed like almost all of the umbrella strollers had small baskets. I bought this:
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2507973&moduleName=Brand+Name+Secondary

And it really helped out! It can carry quite a bit.

My friend has the Volo, which I borrowed one afternoon for the zoo before I got mine. It was nice, but the seat doesn't recline, which as a major bummer when it was time for a rest.

Ohh...that CD sounds great! Wish I had that one!

We have a Mac Quest a cute pink one we got for Hannah. We liked it so much we ended up buying a second one for Owen. We are keeping Hannah's just for Disney trips until she is over the weight limit.

That stroller has my eye.... just waiting around to see!

Those CDs sound fun. We have water bottles for the girls too, those would be fun too...
SCRIPS % is not high, but I might as well. Charge it to my Disney Visa, get points and help the church!

If I get one it has to recline. I can't imagine him sleeping in one that does not. I also think I need to see Luke a bit bigger (ha I know he is huge) and see him on some outside stroller adventures. We have not had much outside time... soon though, soon! Zoo days and Kings Island---- I am ready for spring!

We have about every Disney CD that exists, and we love them all! We have the Grestest Hits ones (red, green, purple), and I'm ready for them to make more of those. We have the Disney Classics set of five CDs, which is awesome. We also have all the park music that we've seen available.

The one that can really make you feel like you are right there is the Animal Kingdom one. If you listen to that on a steamy hot summer day right after an afternoon rainfall, you can really feel like you are right in the middle of Animal Kingdom!

The SpectroMagic CD has just about the perfect timing for me to drive from school to home, so on particularly crazy days, which seem to come more and more often, I get in the car, crank that up, and sit on the curb and watch the parade as I drive home. Depending on traffic, it ends somewhere between when I turn onto my street and when I turn into my driveway, so it is a perfect way to detox from school and be in a good frame of mind for home. :)

I think this week might get crazy... so here is a mini-update!

So we are headed to my inlaws this weekend... the good thing is they have a Disney store in the mall .... and they always go to the mall. I hope to get some Easter Basket goodies while they entertain the girls. We are going to celebrate Emily's birthday with them too. Then I hope to return home to see that the June Hours are posted--- a girl can dream right? That will leave me with one week to get our dining plans ready to go. I do feel a lot less stress in regards to when and where to eat now that we are getting hoppers.

My trip to the Disney store just improved! The girls are going with their grandparents to some play/show and lunch. That means I have time to shop with Luke and DH. That is much more managable than everyone. I am making my list of stops now--- Kohls, Gymboree, Disney Store, Dillards (we have gift cards there I want to see what crocs they have) and on and on...

Have fun shopping!! I hope the hours come out soon for you so you can really get a schedule going. Hoppers are so nice in that regard!

Three in a stroller freaks me out.... but with four adults we will have pushers. Hannah can handle a day at Kings Island, but no way seven at WDW in June. I just know I have to have only two strollers and our double would be a nightmare to go with on buses and such. Plus their might be times Emily and Luke are left with one adult... so we cannot have kids in separate strollers. I think for a short wait that Luke and Emily can be in the WDW stroller together.

Saw some cute Disney Easter baskets at Walgreens today......

Enabler! I do need to get one for Luke. The Easter bunny fills the same ones here every year... and somehow they get random ones from aunts, grandparents etc... we have a ton of them!

They are having a great time, survived the drive (they have a baby who is just a few months older than Luke) and have had good weather! It was great to get just a taste of their trip! I cannot wait to hear all about it next week!

I am also getting close to working on a countdown calendar with the girls.... Shopping
So Saturday we first headed to Toys R Us... Emily was to pick out something for her birthday from the grandparents. I headed to the strollers, liking the Chicco Capri, and the price was a good deal. Even DH is for buying something lighter weight ( I know I should have bought one with child #1 or at least #2). Emily picked out her gifts and we separated.... They girls were off to their show! We stayed around to make a few purchases (two Max and Ruby Coloring Pads- we are having a Max and Ruby cake). Then we headed to the mall to try to croc shop for me and see sizes for Hannah... none of the spring ones were there. Lunch with my boys... it was so nice to not have to cut food and just have Luke, he was super good during these errands.

At the next mall (they are literally across the street), we hit Kohls where DH and I both got new swimsuits, shorts for Emily and a few other odds and ends.

Our Disney store time was fun.. Luke loved looking at the ceiling decorations, but honestly we did not get anything other than the Disney dollars for the girls.

Then I begged a quick run into to Babies R Us... and as I walked in there it was, right up front, assembled and priced to sell! I love the ease of the fold and the weight limit. I struggled to find a lighweight, reclining stroller than even Hannah could take a spin in! I think for most trips it will be for Emily, but for WDW it is all Luke!

Later when we got home the girls showed me there Disney store purchases, they went there with their Nana and Pops:

nightgowns (picture later tonight) and then these for Emily (they don't make them for Hannah's size and we have a wet backyard!)

Then last night this is how the girls spent their evening

This was DH puzzle growing up and they put it together last night... all 300 pieces!

Planning limbo. That is what these weeks are as I wait to make my ADRs. I feel that until I have those wonderful Confirmation numbers I can't go much farther.

Here are some of my worries!

Being on hold forever.... enough said! My ADR day is a school day, and a morning that I work! I plan to get up early.... get ready and then be on the phone ASAP!

Not getting LeCellier for dinner. Right now I have two/three nights it could be, but I would really like our EPCOT day. Plus I am afraid of a late ADR too!

No Crystal Palace Breakfast at 8-- I want it early, so that we can be done when the park opens. To be honest I have three possible days to play around with, but I would love it for day one of MK! Personally this is my # 1 want... I am really excited to go into the park before it opens!

Cinderella's Royal Table- am I safe to say that we should not have too much trouble getting a lunch ADR there. I am flexible on time, but really want it to be on our anniversary!

Fantasmic Dinner package--- there is one night I want this on. Time is fine, but then I question will we really go if we have to go hours ahead? I am kinda weakening my Fantasmic plans. I have already decided to try for the reservations on a day that we won't be at HS!

Also in the mix are Chef Mickey's for dinner and no real decision on our final ADR.... I know what is my problem?

Possible locations: Whispering Canyon, Kona, Wolfgang Puck,Big River Bar and Grille, Coral Reef (this is a late addition to my thoughts).

I had to call for our Thanksgiving ADRs on a school morning, too, and I was stressing about it a little, but I got it all done before the kids arrived. I sure hope it works well for you. If they've got people on the phone for three hours, that's some pretty big kinks they need to work out!!!

Trent would pick Whispering Canyon for a meal.
I've never been to Kona, but I have pretty much heard only good things about it. I'm thinking of making it one of our all-family meals this summer.
The only two we know for sure we want are Whispering Canyon and Teppan Edo. We've got quite a while to think about it.

Boy, do we think alike! ;)

This is what I do on ADR Morning:

1) Pre-set every phone (land and cell) with the WDW Dining # on speed dial.

2) I enlist the help of DH and at exactly thirty seconds before nine (or whenever they are open), we start dialing on all the phones (four).

As soon as we get a reservationist, we just hang up the other three phones. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but somehow I feel it quadruples our chances of getting "in" somebody's call rotation quickly!

I would ask for the most important ADR (CP breakfast) first, then request the next in order of importance. (There's nothing that says you need to schedule them all in calendar order.) Every micro-second you can shave off will decrease the chances of some other reservationist giving that ADR date/time to someone else!

I know, I know. It's a bit anal, but it has always worked for me! :rotfl:

As for the undecided day, we did Coral Reef in May and loved it! The big tank is so great, but it is a little dark in there. We have also ate at Wolfgangs and the food was so good there! That is still one of our favorites.

So this afternoon I finally talked to my sister in law about their trip! They stopped over and had a few gifts---

For Luke

For the girls...

birthstone Minnie Necklaces

and for me!

I so love this. I am for sure going to use it at WDW... and Kings Island and well lots! So cute! It has a wristlet to it too! So sweet!

Some of the trip highlights she shared (she has not had time to get the pictures printed, but brought over the most darling Castle picture before CRT)

The Fairies--- thanks DIS! I told her to do it and go early! The girls adored it!

BBB- my nieces had never done it... and both told me how much fun it was!

Expedition Everest-- my nephew and oldest niece loved it

Rockin' Roller Coaster- my nephew's pick ride!

It was fun to hear about their trip, meals and the Poly!

The wristlet is cute too! That looking like something great to throw into a bag and go. Now, what are the Star Wars toys? They kinda look like bathtub toys, but I wasn't sure. Anyway, I'm adding that to the list for my little guy (and well probably DH too! ).

They are drool toys... no probably bath, but I am thinking we won't use them for that. Luke actually was grabbing them and trying to eat them earlier today!

What a fun way to spend the afternoon! :goodvibes

Kathy

It was... Hannah asked afterwards if we could do our countdown calendar, so we will start that soon!

It's so fun to get to talk Disney with your family! Nice gifts, too. That should have everybody even more excited about your own upcoming trip!

Brooklynn loves jewelry of all kind. We looked at the Minnie necklaces several times. That might be a good thing to bring her back from my trip.

Hope you guys have a great weekend ahead, in case I don't get back over here, since I'll be in Alabama tomorrow. You've got a birthday celebration; right?

I know I went to the grocery to get ready for Emily's birthday tonight. Tomorrow we hope to go to the zoo after Easter pics in the AM. Then Sunday party- which will be crazy with the missing hour for spring forward!

Great gifts for everyone!!!! So glad they enjoyed their trip!!!! As fast as time is going around here, it will be NO time before you are going to be coming back from your wonderful trip!!!! :O)

I know that I will be blue after our trip, but I like to do Trip Reports and I will have summer still ahead!

Sounds like a great touch of Disney! The necklaces are super cute and I love your wallet.

Thanks!

Those are great gifts. I love that they make Star Wars figures for babies. The necklaces for the girls was a good idea and that change purse is too cute.

Thanks ! The girls love their jewelry.

I just made 4 ADR's, a Pirate Cruise Reservation, and a BBB reservation this morning. Also added dining to our package. I called right at 6 a.m. central time, and I'm not sure how long I was on hold, but I was done with the entire process by 6:50 a.m.
So, maybe things are getting better? They guy that helped me seemed to know what he was doing.
I got all the dates/times I requested except for 1900 Park Fare on Sunday nigh, June 7th. I got 20 minutes later than requested, but I'll take that!

Thanks for the good experience update... you give me hope!

Such cute gifts!! I am so excited they still have that wristlet! I was eyeballing that last April!!:thumbsup2 The baby Star Wars figures are ADORABLE! I love talking about Disney, what a great way to help you get more excited for your trip!!:goodvibes

I love to hear about trips... hence that is why I like this board especially!

Just wanted to let you know that I called Disney dining this morning because we were "forced" :lmao: to book an additional day to the beginning of our trip. The airfare was just too great to pass on.
Total length of time you ask?

A mini update of sorts...

So on the 16th I can make my ADRs. My parents and Doug are reviewing a few menus and my latest plan is to book an extra dinner so we can cancel later. I am waiting on TGMs charts, but feel confident they will be done by next Monday.

So these long delays in ADRs have me a bit worried. I work Monday mornings, but now I am switching that day and working in the PM. Not to make ADRS (although I am a tad relieved) but to take Hannah to her kindergarten screening. So my thoughts are that I will have plenty of time to call- her screening is not until 11, so I will pick her up from preschool early and go to the screening and head to work. The only bad parts are she is starting swim with Em that afternoon (so my mom will take all three:scared1: ) and she has her first softball practice that evening too.

We have had a great Saturday- we had their Easter pics taken- a disaster... I am calling to get a refund or reschedule after reviewing the proofs at home and being mad that none were good- five years of Easter pics and I was so sad.

Then we headed out to the zoo- it was 77 degrees here and so nice. Emily loves the new stroller--- it was her ride today, Luke was in the big one. Then we just played outside, Em tried out her new bubble BBQ grill and new big girl bike- it might rain tomorrow so we let her try her present early. Tomorrow is the big birthday... I cannot believe she is three.

It sounds like you got lucky with the work schedule, I'll bet that your call doesn't take long at all.
Sounds like your mom is going to have her hands full, and Hanna will be really tired after swim and softball!

When is his birthday? Hannah will be six in August. I am a huge fan of not sending young kids... I have never had a parent say I wish I had sent my child, but have looked at many kids that would be better in second grade (remember I teach third grade). They would be ready/mature enough for second but struggle with that combo in third. That is JMO though.

I totally know what you mean Laura. That is EXACTLY my struggle. I taught special ed for 8 years before the boys arrived. I cannot tell you how many meetings it was determined that the late birthday was the cause the of whatever it was that was troubling the child.

Doug's birthday is Aug. 5th. So, he would be one of the younger kids in his class. I had planned to just do the transitional kindergarten program that his preschool offers, but he really is overwhelming me lately (in a good way). He's got all his letters and letter sounds down (has for about a year) and is really working on his sight word vocab. I think he's got 30 to 40. Every sign he sees with under about 5 letters has become a sounding out project for him. He counts to 100 and is doing some adding and subtracting. I am worried about his social skills and the x factor that happens when he hits the upper el grades. We've got a parent teacher conference with his preschool teacher tomorrow and plan on spending most of it talking about this. It's such a big decision to make for someone so little. Mason really seems to encourage sending kids to kindergarten once they turn 5, so maybe I'll sneak him into your district's screener so I have one more puzzle piece.

To give you a hint.... we started with a trip to Home Depot:rolleyes1 but we are going to make it multi-step, working on number id and some letter/word recognition... yes I am a teacher nerd....

I am totally that mad teacher too! This is totally what I was envisioning when you said it was going to be multi-step to include both kids!

Social skills are the tough one for boys... maturity--- I can think of so many who just could not make good decisions socially. I do not regret at all this year with Hannah... they are in school for long enough, I got my extra time with her.

It really is so child-specific, though. We struggled with the same thing a couple of years ago. Trent's birthday is July 25th, and he's a tiny, tiny kid.
But he was so bored with preschool.
Kindergarten is all day, so it was a big decision.
He was a tiny bit shy at first in Kindergarten, but he soon got over that. So, no social issues.
he's now about to finish 1st grade. He's reading at the 3rd grade level, his teacher's words are "way ahead in math," and he's happy.
His biggest worry this year is that he's the only one who hasn't lost a tooth.
So, listen to what the screeners have to say, and go with mother's intuition.
My second child will be attending kindergarten next year. She was 5 in January, so there is no "close" issue on whether to send her, but I think she's less ready than her brother was. : )
She's just not that focused on anything! : )

We have the same problem. Jenny will be 5 on July 30th, but she was born a month early. So she should have been even closer to the cut off date. She has lots of social skills, but still naps everyday. We talked to her preschool teacher and she recommended Jenny do Kindergarten prep next year. There is no way around it. She would either be one of the youngest or the oldest. It helps her friends are twins and have the same time of birthdays and they are going to do prep too next year. Good luck!

My Megs was delivered two and half months early on September 29th. They (the school system) tried to tell me that we HAD to start her a year earlier than we wanted to because her birthday was before the cut off date---October 1st!!! I held my ground though and firmly told them there was no way we were starting her until the next year because had we been able to prevent her delivery just TWO MORE DAYS we would have never even had that discussion!!! I can't TELL you how happy I am that I held my ground---that extra year home has been SO worth it in my opinion. There was no way I was going to set her up to be the smallest and youngest in the class....much rather her be the oldest and more advanced. She fits in perfectly with the kids she is with---and she is not even nearly the tallest or biggest kid!

We did the Dr... but I think today Emily has a bug, so I am a bit worried about who is next and where it is from. We will have to see what the next days look like. I am also sure we will be watching tons of basketball and I have a college student for the next two weeks at school so I need to get ready for that too.... it is super crazy!

Gosh, things move fast around here. First, happy birthday to Em, a little late. Good luck with your ADRs Monday! I'll be on the phone Tuesday. ITA re: keeping younger kids back. My oldest had a late October birthday, and even though Michigan has a Dec. 1 cutoff (crazy, right?) we didn't hesitate at all to wait that extra year. Our middle child (a 3rd grader, btw) has an Aug. b-day, and we anguished over whether to send her at 5. We sent her because she's very bright, but near the end of the year her teacher, who I respect immensely, suggested that she attend T-1 (transitional first grade) the following year since she was doing very well with academic measures but had a lot of young behaviors. We agreed and am very glad she got an extra year, but regret not just holding her out of kindgergarten for that extra year. Hope you have an extra fun, RELAXING, weekend. Sounds like you could use some down time. :goodvibes

Don't forget to PM me all your information so I can send the postcard to the kids.

I'm also sending to Declan (declansdad and pooksma) and Lexi (CanadianWDWfan), both in Canada. Does anyone know anything about postage to Canada, as far as if I do anything different? declansdad said he didn't know - thought maybe you add an extra stamp or something. We both feel like Concierge will be able to tell me everything I need to know, if I don't find out before then. Has anyone else sent postcards to Canada from WDW, and if so, can you give me some insight?

Well so far not much relaxing... we ran errands like mad today, did picture retakes (totally cute!!!!!!) and now I am in the midst of laundry-- I only did baby laundry this week so I am paying dearly now!

Monday for your ADRs, right?

We discussed ADRs tonight at dinner- it was just DH, Luke and I. I ran my plan A, and then the other scenarios past DH. He actually seemed pleased by what I am planning... I expected him to drop some bomb on the plans. My dad did speak up about some restaurants, so we have our list ready for Monday!

We had a very great treat arrive today! Wigdoutdismom sent us a copy of her Wishes CD! I got the mail amist a stop home today and put it in to start when the girls and DH got back in the car! The girls and I totally loved it... (DH probably was miffed that he could not listen to basketball). What a fantastic CD--- I have never seen Wishes all the way through, since Hannah is a stink about fireworks. She loved the CD though so we are going to see it this summer. I need to investigate great Wishes Viewing Locations now. I think that CD will be part of my drive to work...a touch of Disney will make it fun! (I know that MeMom does this... and I think this is a great length CD for that) I cannot wait till we are seeing this for the first time this summer!!!!!!

This morning...
at 7:02 I was talking to CM Christine, had a few glitches since I am booking with room only first and really the computer was not letting me book for our second reservation days where we have the dining plan... for a few minutes we did not think we could do it, but then it started to take my reservations! I am off at 7:33 with 9 ADRS--- a bit too many. It was me that slowed the process too, I had some problems getting what I wanted, so I have some thinking to do. I did get all the restaurants, but the Fantasmic Dinner Package was tough as was the Crystal Palace. I have to get Hannah up and moving, so I will post later.

ADVICE---if you hear a time you want take it, I passed up a time, and when she went back it was gone.

Secondly of my plan, I only got on ADR on the day I wanted. I had to change all the other days around, so I am totally thankful for having lots of scenarios in my head!

Okay a bit of time to reflect. First of all I got through right away... super happy. I followed the prompts I saw posted on TGM forum... I also really watched the Universal Time website so I called on time!

The new system is super smart, it was not accepting my reservations since I wanted to do dining for days after my stay, but after trying one it seemed to let me do it. (Remember I had two reservations... room only, then our package-- my parents have a package too) They did ask for Reservation numbers. The CM contacted a manager... she must have done something, but said she did not. I started right away wanting my much wanted Crystal Palace reservation.... the best time is 8:05, and it is a firmer and harder system to get, once they are gone, she can do nothing the CM said. I could not get 8:05 for three MK days I wanted, over 95 days out mind you! Below is a copy of the chart I started last night.

Date / Restaurant Wanted / ActualADR
Thur June 18 / Mama Melrose FDP / Crystal Palace Dinner
Fri June 19 / LeCellier 5:45 / Coral Reef
Sat June 20 / Crystal Palace 8:00 AM / Chef Mickey Dinner
Sun June 21 / Crystal Palace Dinner
Mon June 22 / The Coral Reef 5:45 / LeCellier
Tues June 23 / Chef Mickey 5:45 / Mama Melrose FDP
Wed June 24 / Cinderella's Royal Table / Cinderella RT

Time wise I got the reservations I wanted. I also got all the restaurants I wanted, but had to plug in more than one day to get them.

So I started with Crystal Palace first--- and got no 8:05, so I dropped it and moved on to Fantasmic Dinner Package- I could not get it on 6/18 all booked. CM said those are booking really fast. So I took 6/23. Then we worked on LeCellier. I stupidly was offered 6:30ish on 6/19, but got distracted about another reservation and said no, so when she checked again... it was gone, so we moved it back to 6/22. I think I had her check CRT---- I had realized last night it was actually a 90+11 day ADR, so I thought I would have to call a second day to get it. I really really wanted to eat there on this last day, since it is our actual anniversary and I thought a good last meal! I did not even check breakfast, but she quickly offered a time and I took it.
I knew Chef Mickeys was out the first few days since it had been booking at the 180 date, so I was thrilled to get a Saturday night ADR there. So we plugged in Coral Reef into my original LeCellier spot on our EPCOT day...and I realized 8:20 would not be that bad---- I tell you I have major ADR cnanges disease!

So back she went searching for the 8:20 Crystal Palace spots... and now I have two. She said we would probably be seated earlier if we got there early... they have lots of no shows-(perhaps they should charge???) and I realized the extra time walking Main Street might be great. So why two days ADRs... at first I wanted our first MK day to do this, but I am afraid we will be behind the 9:00 rush, and since we are crazy Dumbo riders, I think we will go our middle MK day. The CM warned me about my shopping cart (ADR reservations) getting too full and erasing, so we did the CP breakfasts after I checked out time one. If DH freaks about the 8:20 Breakfast ADR we will do Crystal Palace dinner, one of the two days (Saturday and Monday- I am leaning towards Monday) I have it. I am not thrilled that we do not have any ADRS two days, but oh well. I plan to cancel three ADRs to the Crystal Palace.

I am also sure that having a ADR for seven affected the success a bit! However I cannot stress I would have lots of options and plans. Also it takes a while... th CM kept apologizing, I thought the whole time I was happy to have a CM to talk to, I was thrilled to not be on hold!

More thoughts later... and a second call to WDW Dining.... I know I am crazy!

I am done with ADRs. We have a seven day package and dining plan. I know need to cancel some, cancel the extra room nights (maybe I can con DH into going another day earlier--- we had a great tax refund) and switch our CRT ADR over. Okay, I'm officially confused about this new ADR system. I admit, I haven't read much about it thinking "how different can it be", but I guess I need to do some homework now.

So what are you going to do about the days with no ADRs?

From what I can gather based on the DIS and my conversation... the new system is smarter. They ask for reservation numbers, probably can prevent bookings at the same time for different places and there is no way to override. The restaurants now do their own seating she said today, and it seems like there might be slots not there.... even at 90+10 I could not get an 8:05 ADR at CP.

As for Thursday and Sunday not having ADRS... we will use our CS meals. I am sure we will have food leftover-- I cannot imagine the girls using their own CS credits and there will be one day we have two big meal ADRS....plus it actually works great with my plans for those two days.

DreaGirl
03-16-2009, 09:49 PM
Oh, okay, I get it now. It seems like we always have CS meals left over and use up on the last two days. Good plan!

So, can you book 90+10 or just 90 days out?

So two years ago I struggled with resorts.... spend the money for WL or stay at a Moderate... back and forth, back and forth. In the end we loved our WL stay (I will be back there.... but remember "Who I am to say no to going to WDW?= I had not budgeted). Then last year we just went for fun with our two girls.... real dilemas changes (we had enough in real non-Disney life- new baby, moving). This year I am obsessed with ADRS.

After about say 40 minutes of studying my beloved ADRs I realized that I had CRT at 1:15. Now I thought I wanted 1, but was starting to worry.... would that be too late, especially for Luke? Should I have gotten an earlier ADR, I don't remember her sharing another time, but I am not sure if I gave her a time to work from. So stupidly I called WDW Dining..... the message was different, the prompts were not accepting my responses. Know I did this at least twice, wasting minutes and never talking to someone in who could help me. So the question I pose is how many more times will I have ADR envy or doubt?

After making a few ADRs...say 6...then you should have the CM give you your confirmation number for those ADRs and then proceed with making any additional ADRs you want. I've heard that if they try to do more than 6 the system locks up and you lose any ADRs you had before it locked up. So the CMs are making so many and then giving you your confirmation # for those ADRs to keep that from happening.

When my kids were that age, they would have eaten table foods any time any place. Maybe you could feed him puffs or other munchie around noon and then give him something more substantial when you sat down. I imagine you are going to have to have a bag with a variety of finger foods anyhow. We had an ADR around that time last summer and it was really perfect. I had ADRitis in October. I finally settled on what I was going to have about 45 days out. Considering I could call back then at 180 days, well that should tell you how often I called.

I think your 1:15 should be fine. You could always bring Cheerios to tide him over until CRT. CRT is so hard to get, I think you might have to deal with that one.

I realized we will be in Magic Kingdom on the same day, too. (The 24th)

What time is his regular nap time? Is it right around then? He may fall asleep or with cherrios be content enough, especially with things going on around him?;)

Oh, okay, I get it now. It seems like we always have CS meals left over and use up on the last two days. Good plan!

So, can you book 90+10 or just 90 days out?

90 days out for up to ten days of your stay... I however booked CRT for the 11th day of our stay... with no problems?

If your ADRitis is like my resort-itis, there's no telling. :rotfl: What else do you wish you had changed or gotten? I would give it a couple of days to just sink in before trying to change anything. :goodvibes

I am a bit worried about CRT lunch time. I would be shocked if we stick with these ADRS... I already have some ideas.

That's a lot of good eating planned! :)

And possibly adding an extra night - that sounds great!

I am kicking myself on the flight stuff... DH is for driving, I want to fly. I also know we missed some good flight deals. Maybe they will drop?

Thanks for the info Laura!:thumbsup2 What did you mean by checkout and make sure that the cm does that for me so I don't lose my reservations? Thanks!:goodvibes

They put your ADRS in a cart(like online shopping carts). My cm asked how many more I wanted to make, warning me that they sometimes go bad/full and have problems. She said at around six you should checkout. Just keep this in mind, I know you will have tons of ADRs in your long trip and Deluxe Dining plan.

Welcome to my world of ADR-itis. I can't even tell you how many times I have called Disney Dining to make changes and I'm still not completely satisfied with what I have. I'm choosing to ignore them for awhile, it's working well for me so far. :lmao:

It makes me feel better. LL I must admit your night before ADRs was in my head all night long Sunday.

Exactly!

I get it! I've got a few I'm not thrilled with and its really hard to let it go. I think I was happier before I got on the Dis and realized what I was missing!::rotfl: Are you going to call at 90 days? I'm trying tomorrow morning for SOMETHING @ HS, hoping for more released tables.

I cannot believe that it is this hard to get ADRS. Come on the economy is not good, people are cutting back, but now an ADR at Disney is crazy hard to get?

Congrats on your ADRs----but right now I am so overwhelmed about all these new changes to the system---it seems SO HARD to get what you want now. I want the old system back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am right there with you!

I agree, MegansMom... I am really nervous, too! System crashing? ADRs that are already booked out for certain days, locations... Lost confirmation #s... Ugh. :sad2:

Hope it all comes together for everyone! :)

I have my confirmation numbers everywhere. I am for sure taking them with me.

We were tired and crabby and the meal perked everyone right up!

I hope almost he sleeps good before it!

I would never give up CRT!

He is not good on this scheduled nap. We have finally gotten good at night. To be honest I get home/leave around nap time. I would be sad if he was down before I get home. He wants to nurse as soon as I get home too...he is very into mommy right now!

So earlier this week I mentioned that I hoped DH would consider not making me cancel all my room only nights. Well today was the day! I got to my car after school to get two pleasant surprises from DH:

Delta dropped flight rates... and now we are flying :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

And to get the cheapest flight deal, we just have to leave on the Tuesday, the day we planned to drive. That means we will have an extra day to relax.

We arrive at MCO after one, so we will have the rest of the day to relax and explore. Then we have all day Wednesday to do some relaxing and exploring before we start our meal plan/tickets/grandparents join us!

Then we will still leave on the 25th, around 2ish.

Yea!!! nonstop flights with grandparents to take our extras! I think we will all carry-on a bag, and the check hopefully just one to tide us over until my parents arrive.

I was really dreading the drive. When we went to see Dh's parents the girls kept asking how much longer ==it was a two hour drive!

Will this be your longest trip down there?

In 2007 we had 9 nights, but we arrive late the first night. So in terms of time at WDW yes. It is also the most park days we have ever done, we have never gone more than five days I think to a park.

Congratulations Laura! That is AWESOME! Extra nights...flying!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks Diane!

This weekend I need to call WDW- cancel extra nights, add Magical Express Flight info, change over our CRT meal to use our TS and get credited for that meal, check for sure that we can use gift cards to pay for trip and add hoppers. Hopefully I don't go and change any ADRs.... I am half tempted to add an Out of Pocket meal for our first full day somewhere. We will see! I would love to try the Ohana's breakfast, so we will see!

Update!

I called Disney to cancel the extra nights, add Magical Express, and add hoppers. I also then was transfered to dining. I added OHana's character breakfast for June 17th. I think it sounds like a super fun and yummy breakfast. We will see if I keep it!

I also switched our CRT ADR. We now will get our credit back using the dining plan and moved the time just by about five minutes. They did say there are no big tables for seven... I sure hope we get tables next to each other!

Other than that we are watching tons of basketball-- Go Xavier!

How exciting to know it won't take as long... I loved getting the boys onto the ME bus when we arrived at the airport... it just was another "fun" moment :goodvibes

And great strategy with Ohana's.. I am anxious to know what it is like for breakfast if you do it, we are trying dinner for the first time in June, might consider it for our Dec trip... I bet the CRT is going to be so fun! Is this your first time there? I can't remember from earlier posts...

Getting all this finalized really makes it come together! :thumbsup2

I love ME... it puts me in the mood. It used to be fantastic to not have to deal with bags, but since we probably won't check much, it won't matter this year.
