Phoned the lovely lady and she is re sending it...might get it in january if I'm lucky!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!;)
The pooh bear version is half price now, should told her to send me that one and refund me!;)
Poops the tinkerbell one is half price now too, do you think I should email them asking for a refund since its their fault I have to wait longer....or is that a hard neck?

Considering you now won't get it until January (Lets face it, what good is a tree topper in January?) I think you should be entitled to some money off. Whether they'll see it that way is another matter! I'd ring rather than phone though as you may get a better result!

Robert ordered a photobook from Boots for his Dad for Christmas from us. When it arrived, it was bent, torn and scruffy. OF OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN!!!!         To top it off their phonelines won't be manned again until Monday, so there is probably no chance of it getting here in time for Christmas!!!! I am absolutely foaming as we are going to Barnsley on the 27th, so there's no time for it to get here after Christmas either!!!
I wouldn't care, we really need our mini Christmas to go with a bang because of Robert's mum being ill so I am beyond furious. The fact they botched it once is annoying, but twice is beyond a joke....

Good evening...
I'm feeling a little disgruntled this evening. We had a "random draw" in work to determine what time we're allowed to finish on Wednesday. They put a bunch of times in a bag and the managing director then drew one of the times out.
Unsurprisingly, the latest possible time was drawn. What this means is - I will be finishing a grand 30 minutes earlier than I usually do on Wednesday - finishing at 5 rather than 5.30. Happy days ;)

Hey all
emma i was reading up about that and it is just an awful story. i cant believe how the grandparents were sticking up for her i mean it was pretty obvious that the poor little girl wasnt alive and it was her mothers fault. the fact that they couldnt even verify the last day that they saw her said enough. if ash was gone for half a second i would have phoned every emergency number i knew. i hope she gets what she deserves.

Hi everyone :goodvibes Love your wreath, Karen. :santa: We have 3 girls and a 3 bedroom house.
So do we ~ my middle and youngest DDs share. My youngest doesn't mind but middle one hates it. Every time she kicks off I remind her that a 4 bedroom house would mean a greatly increased mortgage which would mean no Disney holidays for a very long time so she soon shuts up then.
I always tell her that if having to share a bedroom with her sister is her only gripe when she's grown-up then she won't have had too bad a childhood, will she! Ooh, you can see I can be a hard mother!! :rotfl:

My two eldest share - there will be a major battle once the baby is old enough to go into a bed. I'm seriously considering an annual rota, unless there is a 'natural' share that emerges as they get older.

Yep, my eldest and middle shared for a few years then I swopped them round. There's only 4 years between them all but the younger two are closer in age and are both at secondary school whereas eldest is at art college so needs a bit more space to do her homework in although she does have the smallest room.
Reid, that was very sweet of you to say although Emma's proved she's definitely a better mum by giving Kyra the biggest room! :rotfl2: At least I'm better than my DH ~ when middle DD kicks off he offers her her own room, the shed in the garden! :lmao:

We have parallel lives. My younger two are closer in age and I imagine that will be the 'natural' share in the future. My DH has offered the garage to my eldest when she moans about sharing. Isn't it funny that sharing a room is viewed as some sort of hardship nowadays? My MIL had to share a bed with her two sisters!

dont know if this is the right place to put this , but you could you please pray for the family of little Colum Canning who drowned on thursday at the explorers hotel while visiting disneyland.
i have copied and pasted the news item from our local paper
A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy from Londonderry has died in a water accident in Paris, it has emerged.
It is understood the child was in the French capital with his family and drowned in a hotel swimming pool near the Disneyland resort on the outskirts of the city.
The boy has been named as Colum Canning.
It is believed the Canning family - who orginate from the Springtown Road in Londonderry - were on holiday to celebrate the birthdays of Colum's twin brother and sister on Boxing Day.
The fatal accident is thought to have occured on Thursday, but details have only emerged.

So is everyone ready for Christmas?
No, not quite. Still have yet to do the food shop. It's just going to be us 4 on Christmas Day, so we don't have to get loads, thank goodness. Just what we need for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Am so not looking forward to going to Sainsbury's tomorrow morning, esp with the 2 kids in tow:scared1: . But needs must and all that.

We went to Tesco yesterday, feared the worst as we drove up as they had attendents showing you where to park on the car park (unheard of!) - anyhow got a parking space easily enough and then although parts of the store were busy the checkouts weren't, so pleasantly surprised.
Will take Mum to our local supermarket on Wednesday to get the fresh stuff, otherwise we are as ready as we'll ever be!

Evening all. I've just done my Christmas food shop too. Had to go to Sainsbury's for a turkey crown but got the rest in Tesco. Glad it's all bought. People were siege shopping as usual, despite the shops being open on Boxing day. I hate shopping at this time of year - I feel the panic rise as soon as I get in the car park.

Oh dear - I can sympathise with you on the pain caused by having train tracks adjusted. I had braces of one kind of another for 10 years which weren't just limited to train tracks. Fortunately I was quite young when I started, so I was finally rid of my retainer about 3 years ago.
I've been working - in fact, I'm still working :thumbsup2

The one I found worst wasn't the train tracks, but was the headgear that I was given. I think I wore it for about a week before I gave up with it because of the soreness it used to produce in my top teeth :rolleyes1
I had a lot of problems with my braces though - they kept breaking and coming unstuck from my teeth so I was back and forth a lot having it re-glued and fixed. That was fine when I was at home, but it broke on holiday once - the A&E department at the local hospital didn't have a clue how to mend it or remove it so just left it :confused3

A few years ago, we went down the Sainsbury's (who had 24 hour opening) at about 5am on Christmas Eve morning. It meant there was a reasonable amount on the shelves and was nice and quiet.

Oh no that sounds awful!:scared1: Are your teeth perfect etc now?
I have vertical maxillary excess (gummy smile) and a new othodontist wanted me to go to Glasgow to get some upper jaw bone cut out:scared1: I was seriously thinking about it but then looked on youtube .... enough said!:rotfl:
I then went to my next appointment and it was the guy in charge of the department I got (got him today too) and he said it should never have been mentioned to me about surgery and on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being I seriously need it) I was only a 2.... so that was it wrapped up and worked out in 10 mins and I had been worried for 2 months wondering what the right thing to do was!
In a weird kind of a way I think I might miss my train track!:confused3

I've just posted this over on the weddings thread, but would love to hear if you guys think doing this would make me go to hell.....I'm just so torn! It's giving me a headache!!
Right this is a little confusing so please stick with me!!
---
I am soon (hopefully) to be engaged, as some of you know my DBf and I had chosen a lovely ring from a well known UK jewellers.
But, I always wanted a family ring for my wedding/engagement as I think it means so much more.....
So - my very elderly grandmother had a stroke a couple of months back, and since then has developed pretty severe dementia, she doesnt really know where she is, or whats going on. :(
She's also lost a lot of weight, and has had to be put into a home.
All of her jewellery has been given to my mum, as her only daughter, and my mum wants me to have it all.
Now, one of the rings my Nan has been wearing for the last 10 years or so is her sisters engagement ring - a 0.5 carat solitaire, which is very beautiful.
I've been given this, along with my nans diamond solitaire engagement ring. I can't think of doing anything to my grandmothers ring, just incase her dementia miraculously clears and she asks where her ring is...
But do you think it's immoral of me to get my great aunts reset while my grandmother is still alive? (My great aunt passed away 10 years ago, and she never had children or grandchildren of her own, and really doted on me.)
Also, we went into the jeweller and asked about prices and styles yesterday, and i fell in love with a ring i could have my diamond turned into.....
...amazingly the exact figure was transferred into Jacks account today through a payment he has been owed for months!
Am I evil??? What would you do??
Just to add - its not a case of money saving, its a case of using family jewellery is my dream - and my nan is just crazy, not on her way out, and we will be engaged soon.......so to buy or to recycle?

I'm not quite in the mood yet, mainly because the house is a mess lol. I haven't had time to sort things out yet (both pre-holiday & post-holiday mess!) as we have been out yesterday & today. However, I have decided that we won't be going out tomorrow (well, apart from maybe to get some petrol), so, the day will be spent putting things away and emptying the front room out for pressies etc. It's a kind of mess where you don't know where to start and each time I look at it, I just want to screeeeeeaaaaam !!! :scared: But all will be okay by tomorrow afternoon...hopefully:rotfl:
