I have a question. I was looking at going 3/21 - 3/28, staying at POR trundle room (b/c we have 6 incl 1 infant who wouldn't count, so it's the only Mod resort type we can stay at). No availability (at least now), so I looked at 2 separate value rooms at AS SP.
Am I correct in that if I book 2 separate rooms (with an adult and 2 children on each reservation, since we have 2A and 4C total), I will get 2 of the $200 gift cards, since I would have 2 reservations? Additionally, if I do this, due to family size and make-up (2 kids 3 or under), can I get connecting rooms, not just adjoining rooms?
Thanks.

Yes, because it becomes two seperate reservations.

Yes. We have two rooms and are getting two GCs.

Be careful with this. Disney Reservations will, by default, have it under one reservation with 2 rooms. You have to specifically ask for them to make it under 2 separate reservations. Of course, that brings up the question of connecting rooms. . .
(I asked about getting 2 rooms for our party of 5, and they said I would not get 2 gift cards.) I know many have posted that they will be receiving 2 gift cards.
We ended up booking 1 room at POR anyway.
I hope you get them!

My wife, son and I are staying in two connecting rooms at Pop Century the last week of January. We switched from an ASMU family suite in order to take advantage of the buy 4 nights/get 3 free offer.
I received the voucher booklet from Disney Travel a few weeks ago and was surprised to find two $200 gift card vouchers, one in my name and one in my wife's. All three of us are on a single reservation.
I didn't specifically request this when changing the reservation so perhaps our CM went above and beyond the call of duty in order to arrange it so.
re: connecting rooms, I recall reading somewhere that requests for connecting rooms are only guaranteed when there are young children involved. I don't know how young, but I'm sure that under three qualify.

The conventional wisdom is that you have to have 2 different reservation numbers to get 2 cards. I don't know if this is true or not (I kind of think not), but CMs at CRO will tell you this is true, which is why I have ended up with 2 reservation numbers.
Not sure how this affects connecting rooms, but I will find out in 2 weeks. My original reservation was under 1 number, and I was told I had guaranteed connecting rooms. I now have 2 reservations, and I am still being told by CRO that I have guaranteed connecting rooms. Plenty of posts here on the DIS disagree with that. I will know more in a few weeks!
