I will be renting a vacation home for our trip in July. Do you think that it is necessary to pay additional to have the pool heated in July?

Don't pay for a heated pool. It will be in the mid to high 90's every day, so the cold water won't be that cold. Besides, even if the water is cold, it will definitely be refreshing.

We go a lot in the summer because we're both teachers and swimming in a heated pool in July is just not refreshing at all.

We just came back (May 8-13) and the sun had heated the pool. You definitely will NOT need it in July. Ice cubes maybe, but not a heater.

Hello It'sMe-
Just read your posts, and noticed your location, I'm from Far Rockaway too, 32nd st. How's the old neighborhood? Have you lived there long?

Hello! We've been living here for quite some time. Glad to see another from Far Rockaway on the DIS!

Now from Ronkonkoma, Gave up Far Rock in 1990. Did the whole public school, jhs, and hs there. Great memories, but had to get out. Lots of things changed in my 25 years there.

Sorry to jump in It's Me :)

Can anyone tell me if pool heating would be needed in September?

Thanks

No, not in September either. We are in south GA and swim outside in an unheated pool from early May until late September. Orlando is much warmer than we are.

We always pay to have the pool heated whatever time we go, so I guess it depends on how you like it. I hate getting into unheated pools - I prefer them to be like a bath!
