Hello Ladies,

Staley- I'm glad that you liked your gift and I'm glad you didn't go into labor! I can't believe the babies are coming! That's cool that you had a good time with Alex and her family :goodvibes

I sold a purse on ebay a few hours after I listed it. :woohoo: :dance3: Someone used the buy-it-now feature and bought it. I shipped it out today and the line at the post office was awful. :headache:

It was raining on and off yesterday and again today but we should have sunshine again tomorrow. http://i39.tinypic.com/141mnfs.jpg

Hope you guys are having a good day http://i40.tinypic.com/ncxpad.jpg

Went shopping with my sis.. darn those store coupons begging to be spent.

She found a $10 off for CJ Banks, they let me use it on a clearance item :cool1: got a very pretty three button light weight sweater.. black and white pattern.. it's gorgeous, perfect weight for right now when it's cool but not freezing cold.

And I found out if you sign up for JCPenney Rewards you get a $5 off $5 with a code (3008) (psst you can make several accounts .. no need to register a credit card, it will still generate a coupon). Not much left of women's clearance but I found a pretty top for $1.

I need "pretty" clothes for our two Fridays a month meeting with the "book club". ;) The "book club" that has nothing to do with books but has everything to do with meeting up with hubby's co workers... music, dancing , and getting nicely tipsy. :thumbsup2

:scared1: If that's what normal labour is like I'm definitely out! No kids for me! I'm glad everything is okay for now, keep the babies in a little longer geesh!

Okay, ladies I'm off for my first ever massage. I'm nervous, so nervous. I also forgot to get cash so I have no money for a tip, sorry massage lady!
:lmao: Everyones is different. I have always been induced, so I have no idea what going into labor is actually like! Besides... after the baby comes, you get baby amnesia!
wow, you really know how to make your hubby jump huh?

:lmao:

Poor Frelan and poor you! yeah sounded like full on labor to me.

FYI for our non-moms... it's not like that for everyone. Which is good, otherwise world population would be extremely small. :lmao: My naturally started labor was very calm and slow building. But every body is different, sounds like it's Staley's nature to pop out babies storm style. Unpleasant feeling and wicked fast!

From the way you described it, sounded like you were in transition. shakey, pukey, racey.. thankfully not. WHEW! What a roller coaster!

I log in each day, making sure there are no PMs in my box.

We should retitle our thread The Hyena Staley's Babies Watch 2009
:lmao: :rotfl2:
The poor man. Seriously. He looks like total crap these days. He isnt sleeping, he yells at everyone.. If the babies dont come soon.. he is going to end up in the loony bin! Thankfully he has friends that work there. :lmao:

Sis picked up McDonald's for me on her way to pick me up.

Maybe hubby can pick up two more cheapie pizzas at the grocery store. They were the generic store brand, I snagged a piece for hubby and I while the boys inhaled the rest last night. They were good.. better than Tombstone, I can't make a good quick pizza for that cost (they were $2 each). Well maybe if it was just cheese.. but not for a supreme.

The crazy thing is she's been here like 30 something years. It's the only job she's ever had. She doesn't get along with our boss at all. I have no problems with him, and it doesn't seem like anyone else does either. I've heard that they had a "thing" together when he first started that didn't work out. DH had Sunday and Monday off and then had a skills test today at work, so he was on days. But starting tomorrow night he will be working swing shift again.

They only have a schedule for the next 2 weeks. They don't know if they are going to finish the training until April 1st like planned. They might do some additional training, might cut training short, they just aren't sure. So he could be unemployed sooner than expected or employed longer than expected. :confused3 But I guess on the plus side some of the guys that were laid off in December are starting to get called back.

Well promise her, that you will bring some back, or never go to her again! :rotfl:

BTW- do you tip at restaurants in Scotland? I know in England that they say not to. When we were there, that was so weird to us. :upsidedow

Anyways, I hope that all went well, and you are thoroughly relaxed!:cloud9:
Yeah you do tip in Scotland and you can tip in London as well, it's just not the same as at home. I think at home its what 20%? I can't even remember anymore, good thing dh always pays. Anyway here, tips aren't expected but they're appreciated. You don't have to tip taxi drivers, but we do anyway. And when we eat out we usually tip 15% anyway, but it's not required.

When I was in Paris the driver wouldn't let us out of the taxi without giving him a tip. We were going to tip anyway but he wasn't sure and was very rude.

Good Morning!

Last night DBF and I went to eat at this Japanese restaurant where they cook the food at your table. We hadn’t been there in like 6 years. It was really neat. The prices weren’t too bad and we got so much food. Soup, salad, rice, a couple of shrimp, and our main dish. I had so much left over and had planned to bring it with me today for lunch but I forgot it. Oh well, it’ll be dinner. I had a Mai Tai and it was so strong. :rotfl:

Then the contractions start getting bad. REAL BAD. And I start puking. Always fun. So Frelan starts to panic, and in record time cleaned out the van.. called in to work, and Between him and the kids managed to pack a few bags. All the while I am on my knees on the floor of the bathroom bawling, barfing, and contracting. Oh.. and pooping up a storm too. Sound like real labor to anyone else??? Yeah. Me too.
Yikes!!! :scared1:

I knew I wore you out looking through the clothes! :headache:

Sheesh, is that seriously what it's like? I know my one friend popped her kid out while barfing, but I had no idea just HOW MUCH FUN it can be with the shakes and dizziness.

I log in every day to check the same thing.

Don't tell Staley but I actually had a dream the other night that she had the babies, but there were two others in there too that she didn't know about :rolleyes1

Things are pretty quiet today in the '2k house. Monday we went bowling with my neighbor friend and her two girls. DS8 had been bowling once before and loved it, so he was thrilled at the idea! DS4, of course, had NO IDEA what we were asking him to do, or WHY. :lmao:

The alley has automatic bumper guards, which we requested be raised, so no gutter balls for our foursome. :thumbsup2

AND they were having "cosmic bowling", where they turn out most of the lights and everything glows under blacklight! Ooooooo! Aaaaaaah! :rotfl:

About halfway through the game DS8 said he was bored and wanted to stop. We had to rent the lane by the hour, so I said we'd finish up the game and then figure out what to do from there. (DS4 and the girls were having a blast!)

We finished up the game with 15 minutes to spare, so just continued playing until the lane automatically shut down.

We'd packed a picnic lunch, so then drove to a local park with a huge grassy area and two playgrounds. We ate our lunch, and then the kids took off to play at the nearest playground. We'd also brought a couple footballs and a round ball, and the girls brought a frisbee, so after a bit DS8 was tossing a football and the girls and DS4 were chasing the frisbee.

DS8 happened to bump into a kid from his school, who was there with his family and cousin, so the boys tossed the football around a bit.

The other boy disappeared after a bit, so DS started tossing around the round ball over by some trees. After awhile we realized the kids were clustered around the bottom of a tree, and tossing sticks up. We wandered over and found out one of them had tossed the ball up and it got stuck in the tree. :rotfl:

Several tosses of ANOTHER ball failed to dislodge it, so my friend's younger DD8 offered to climb up to get it. We pushed her partway up, then she climbed a bit and chickened out, so we helped her down.

I talked DS8 into climbing, and he agreed. So we pushed him up as high as we could, and I guided him in where to step or grab to get higher. He got to the same point as my friend's DD and started to chicken out, but just then the boy from his school was back, AND his brother and cousin, too.

Suddenly DS was climbing again (didn't want to chicken out in front of these boys, I suspected), and he successfully popped the ball out, and climbed down. I was just bursting with pride for him, because I knew he was scared but kept going anyway, and knowing he would be so pleased he did it in front of these boys. My friend said she hoped the incident made it all around the school when everyone goes back on Thursday.

Yesterday (with the same friends) we went to Jump Planet, a blow-up gymnasium kind of place in Bothell. The kids had a blast, ran for 75 minutes straight, and very nearly crashed once we got home. LOVE that. ;)

Today we have no plans (other than housecleaning.) We are watching PBS kids' shows, having a lazy breakfast and pondering a trip to the bookstore later today. :cool2:

I went to the Dr. today.. OMG. Scariest moment of my LIFE. She starts my ultrasound, and all of the sudden says.. Uh-oh.. not good. Then she yells out the door.. I need a dopplar in here..NOW! So Dh and I are panicking.. MASSIVELY. Whats wrong??? Baby A seemed to have a really slow heartbeat. I start bawling, and Frelan is in a straight panic. Then she adjusted the little scanny thingy, and all was well. She just didnt have the best view on him. :faint: Seriously.. All of us were freaking out. She dopplared both babies, and they were perfect.. Thank GOD. :worship:

THEN we went on to the weight scan. Baby A... 5.5lbs. Baby B... 5.7lbs. :scared1: :scared1: Is it any wonder I can barely roll over in bed? :lmao: Even the Dr. was like.. DANG!! They are huge!:lmao: They both measure about a week or so ahead. :thumbsup2 But still.. No talk of induction. :sad1: She was like.. Only 2 more weeks! I gave her the WORST look... A week and a HALF. NOT two weeks. :snooty: :lmao: She did a cervical check.. and nothing. Then she asked if her student could check. Frelan was like.. Anyone else want to stick their hands up my wifes Vag? :lmao: :lmao:

Oh.. and I gained a ton of weight.. But I dont care anymore. Im huge, Im swollen, everything hurts.. I give. I just want this over. I wouldnt wish this pregnancy on my worst enemy.. and I have had a GOOD twin pregnancy. :lmao: :lmao: \

I have a non stress test at the hospital on Sat, and go back to see her next Wed.

Good gravy Staley! I'm glad that everything is okay! I hope your next visit is less stressful! :faint: :grouphug:

Megan, take care sweetie!!

I wanted to share with you guys that my Sister who lives in Oregon, just called me this morning and told me that she has cervical and uteran cancer. So I am quite bummed.

Dave and I, along with my Mom, will be leaving next week to go and be with her during her surgery. We will be gone from Tuesday to Sunday. My Mom will stay behind longer to be with her.

Thanks for listening!

 I'm so sorry for your sister. It just breaks my heart everytime I hear of someone getting cancer. Let her know that she CAN beat cancer...it's not always easy, but I'm living proof that it can be done. Tell her not to let the statistics and the doctors get her down. She is not a statistic and having a good attitude and a sense of humor will help her get thru her treatment.

It is very good that you are going to be with her. But one bit of advice...try to treat her normal. When I was first diagnosed everyone didn't really know what to say or do, and even during treatment it was hard. But what I wanted most of all was for everyone to just treat me normal, for my life to be normal. Make sure to keep her busy, keep her laughing and don't treat her like she's an invalid. If she says she wants to do something then let her do it. Even doing simple household chores will help her feel normal.

She's going to have good and bad days, right now her brain is probably going non-stop just thinking about cancer and letting it sink in. Just be there for her, listen if she wants to talk, try to keep her busy, but most of all just love her.

Just finished our taxes. I am astounded because we actually made $7,000 more last year than we did in 2007.:lmao: Guess unemployment does pay well. Actually it was due to DH getting severance pay when his company closed. However, I found it quite amusing since he was so worried that our income was going down.:lmao:

I really was expecting that we had made less also. But between my job, his partial year job, severance pay, unemployment and new job...well we did better than last year. Funny, because it didn't really seem like we made more.:confused3 But the numbers are showing more.

So what's up this evening? How are you feeling?

Unfortunately moving expenses were the year before. We had some this year - but that was after the move to Show Low - so not eligible.

My taxes are actually super easy this year - we itemize - but still easy compared to before. When I had to do the taxes using John's job expenses (including vehicle) that got to be a bit tricky :headache:

I ate a few bites of chili from Corner Bakery yesterday and my face broke out with a rash! I have no clue why and it's really odd. I took my allergy meds and it's cleared up a bit but I have no clue what caused it.

hmm, that's odd.

I have flushing flare ups with certain foods. Too much caffeine, chocolate, warm liquids... My skin was very happy in California, we were here for about two weeks when I noticed the redness and little bumps starting again. :headache: If I keep it mositurized everyday it's not quite as bad. I've had days where I look like someone punched my cheek. (not bruised , red and puffy)

Hand sanitizer dries out the skin, I remember having red itchy welts on my wrists at the end of a shift as an LPN. Handwashing or sanitizer and gloves over and over and over during med passes. Throbbing and red hands, not pleasant.

So, since it is the number 1 priority of my job to be a happy fun loving people person - wouldn't it only be approprate that a visit to Disneyland would help enhance those job skills???

Work should be ok - the problem is we just lost one of our shift managers (he is having surgery) - so we are down to three managers total. I am working on getting another one ready - but it will take a bit. We thought is surgery was going to be in June, not next week :scared1: :headache: :faint:

The science fair should be fun - we can see how her project did. She worked super hard on it with a psychotic perfectionist mom making her re-write everything :rolleyes1

Sleepover :faint: that will be weird. My mom was super overprotective, so I am not really very well versed in that kind of thing. The good news for DD is the girl's dad was her soccer coach, so we got to know both of her parents very well this year - otherwise, I am not sure if she would be going :rolleyes1

Wow - they charged the kid with negligent homicide :confused3 not sure what to think.

I guess I should explain - there was an 8yo boy about 30 minutes away from our town, in an even smaller town, who shot his father and a family friend a few months ago. Allegedly, he had a notebook, and swore that he would not tolerate more then 1000 spankings in his lifetime, and then they found a tally with 1000 marks :faint: A very weird case.

Very sad - it was very strange to watch the case unfold. The AZ republic was all over it, always pointing out very few details and names to protect the boy. It was weird for us though locally, because our local paper printed every single detail and name daily - probably because there was no way to hide it in such a small community.

Depends on their guidelines.
One of our local news channels has very specific rules when it comes to reporting on crime, they won't reveal any info until the formal charge in court. Meanwhile the sensationalist news channel will tell every gorey detail .. with relish and delight.. complete with pictures. :scared::mad:

Star Tribune is the same, Pioneer Press on the other hand.. crappy crappy news reporting in comparison.

Go hang window clings - it worked when I had DD. DH's work was having a MASSIVE sale - 89cent sandwiches - and pretty much every big wig in the company was to be there. I went with him at midnight to help him hang the clings - then we went home. At about 3 am I had this horrible desire to poo, and it came back every five minutes, then 4, then 3, then finally I realized it was labor :lmao: . Since DH would have a big day at work if we didn't have a baby I let him sleep so I could be sure. Finally about 6am I told him to take me to the hospital. He looked at me and said, sure, ok, let me take a shower first. I don't think I have ever yelled at him more in my life :rotfl2: (and he DID NOT get a shower) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:woohoo: I have joined the masses in the realms of the technological world... I'm so freaking excited and happy :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

N had asked for a Nintendo DS for his birthday, talked to him more and he was really wishy washy about what games to buy and just blah... I asked if wouldn't it be better to have something that plays music, games, movies?
Well.. umm yeah but it would cost mumble mumble mumble..

Hubby says let's go to the Apple store.. really? yeah.. let's get one for all of us.. OMG really??

Swung back to pick up J and off we went to the mall.

Played, talked, played some more. Hubby waves a bag in front of our faces-- OMG he did it!

We now each own an Ipod Touch!

SWEET!

Now, I know what you are thinking.. why not just buy an IPhone? why? because it freaking costs $200 a month to have service and you're locked into a 2 year plan..

no thanks! I will keep my crappy brick of a Walmart special tracfone that we barely use. Heck we hardly use our home phone.

Hubbyis happily ading apps to them all right now. :cool1:

But Hyenas do like to hunt at night. ;)

We happily played with our new toys last night, took awhile to set up each one and charge up.
Today I've been filling up my calendar, it's when we are out and about that we ponder when is......? No forgetting appts or school breaks now. E is in a different school district than the boys, thus we have two different spring breaks and other days off. Little harder to juggle and plan ahead.

We laughed when MIL asked hubby "do the boys go to your school?" :lmao:
OMG no way!

We explained there is a reason we live here and not in the city, the boys' district is one of the top rated in the state (high school is in top 200 in the country). :goodvibes

She got real quiet for awhile after that.. I wonder what she was thinking about? Hope she wasn't offended, I know she didn't make decisions on school choice whenever she moved. Not like she had a choice at the time.

We have school choice/open enrollment in MN. We happily moved here as we are on the cutting line between two very good districts, decided to go with our "home district" to skip the transfer process. Big competition to enroll in the other district, sis lucked out and won spots for both of her boys.

Forgot to bring my lunch today. So I scrounged around and found a granola bar in the bottom of my purse. Figure that will fill me up until 2pm. At which time I have to meet DD at Walmart parking lot, to take her to her doctor appt. Apparently she is unable to drive someplace new by herself. I swear I have never seen such a helpless driver.

Anyway, we are going to the doctor's office at the hospital where they will cut the cast off, then send us upstairs to have a CT scan on it. We go back to the doctor on Monday to see if we need another cast, if it has completely healed or what our next move will be.

Fun stuff!! Hopefully she wont need another cast!

They wanted to remove her cast today, have the CT scan done and then put a new cast on today. Then she would go back in on Monday, after the CT scan is read and they might remove the cast.

WHAT??!! I called the doctor and read them the riot act. At her last visit 6 weeks ago it was 80-90% healed. They want to put a new cast on today for only 3 days?? I told the doctor that was stupid and he should read his company's mission statement (part of it includes not being wasteful and being mindful of patient's resources). It costs us about $300 every time they put a cast on. Anyway, he had no idea it cost that much. WTH??

Anyway, so she doesn't have to wear a cast this weekend, but her activities are still limited and restricted..ie no motocross! I've already told the doctor no more casts. We may go for activity restrictions and/or a brace. But 5 months of a cast is enough and DD said she will not let them put another one on. This doctor is very arrogant and I don't think he likes that we are telling him what to do. But honestly it's our decision and as I told him, we are his customers!

Just be there for her, listen if she wants to talk, try to keep her busy, but most of all just love her.:hug:Alison,

Thanks for your good advice. I know it comes from the heart!

And to all the rest of you, thankyou for your concern and care. :grouphug:

I'm sure DD would have cut it off if the choice were hers. It sucks sometimes to be a responsible parent and make the kids do what you know they should. She's had 3 casts on. She is refusing another cast though, but we did tell her that we will follow the doctors orders about motorcycle riding. So if he gives her the green light on Monday, she can start riding again. If now, we may seek a second opinion and won't let her ride until its fully healed. This doctor did say that the fracture is in a critical area that could cut off a major artery in the hand and could cause lots of problems. So we are being very careful.

It was a day of grocery deals shopping. Whew, lots of stuff and it's stillnot put away. I bought enough to keep two households afloat for a long time (will bring a box to MIL next weekend). N had fun and built castle walls out of my cans of soup and boxes of cereal. The cat thinks it's her own fortress to hide behind and attack as you walk past. I seriously need to get her claws snipped, she attacked me last night when I was trying to shoo her from the bed.. midnight crazies make her territorial, she decided to swipe at me while I was trying to kick her caboose off of my coupon clippings. New scratch on my arm, washed and applied antibacterial cream and found a band aid.. apparently it was a latex based bandaid.. it left a nice puffy welt when I took it off. :headache: Gotta go thru and pull all the latex based out of my first aid stash, that's what I get for buying cheap or getting samples in the mail. I don't have a full blown allergy, skin sensitivity especially to the powder from latex gloves.. and apparently to bandaids that have been around for awhile.

Poly wants me to make cookies I guess.. she attacked the pouch of cookie mix (freebie) .. now it's holey ..and not in the spiritually good way.

There goes two tubs of frosting rolling acorss the kitchen floor.

Sure, wake the neighbors.. but you get to answer the door and explain yourself. meow?

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :cutie: It was cloudy this morning and then by the evening it started to rainhttp://i43.tinypic.com/157lrhj.gif It's supposed to rain until Wednesday :(

Didn't do anything too exciting today....just dropped some pants off at the dry cleaners to be altered (my bf and I need to have our denim pants altered as they are wayyyy too long). Then we went to a Korean BBQ place (yummy!) where they had a special- all you can eat for $14.99/EA. We could not order more refills on the meat, we were so full. :faint: Then we stopped at the Korean market next store then it was off to Borders. I bought my youngest cousin a book called Kingdom Keepers (you can read the descrption here: http://www.borders.com/online/store/TitleDetail?sku=1423306910). It's supposed to be really good (my little sister loves it) and recently bought the sequel to it. I found it in their bargain books section for $4.99! I also grabbed a birthday card and a pre-cut gift wrap sheet.

My little sister read Inkheart and my older sister borrowed her copy of Inkspell. My bf just finished reading it so we dropped it off at her house so she could borrow it. He also bought Inkdeath the other day but hasn't read it yet.

We headed home and we watched Da Vinci Code on DVD. I had never seen it before and my bf insisted I watch it. It was actually really interesting and I thought it was cool.

I started scrapbooking again. I have so many pictures to put into the album. It's really fun to make this album though. It's all the DL & DCA pics from when we went with our 2 family friends. :goodvibes

DH and the kidlets are racing. I am sitting here contemplating putting my rubber boots on and making a trip way down into the front yard to pick up a plastic sack that is only partially hidden behind a tree near the road. Must have blown out of someone's car. I will sit her for a couple more hours and contemplate it.

The ending in the movie is different from the book. Also in the commercial they showed that the little girl read Toto out of the book but in the book she read Tinkerbell out.

Good afternoon!! I have risen from the deep depths of nesting to jump on the computer. :lmao: We went to the hospital yesterday for my NST, and the stupid thing should have taken us half an hour. but did it?? NOOOOOO... Stinky old babies. Took us three freaking hours!! :headache:

For those that dont know.. a NST, non-stress test, is when they strap all the sensors on to my belly.. Heart rate monitor for each baby, and a contraction monitor. They want to see if the babies heartrates are reactive to their movements, and monitor contractions.. WELL. My babies dont take kindly to being monitored. :lmao: They were flipping out. COMPLETELY! It was freaking hilarious. The poor nurse had to sit there holding the monitor on baby B, while Frelan came over and held the monitor on baby A. And all the while I was contracting. She called my Dr. to see what she should do, and the Dr. said to just let them go. Thank GOODNESS. I did NOT want another shot of terbutaline. That stuff blows.

Anyhow. Babies are still inside... SOON. So soon.. We were talking about how next weekend will probably be our last weekend without babies. :scared1: Kinda freaky!! I am so not ready.

well.. they wouldn't be Frelan and yours without being a tad bit of a stinker right? :lmao: :lmao: I remember being very bored and sleepy during a NST (baby was snoozing too, they gave me juice to wake him up), at least yours was semi interesting trying to capture the lil devils. :upsidedow

Excited, anxious and overwhelmed all in one right? Big changes but your family is up to the challenge.

You would think they wouldn't have much room left to wiggle let alone flip.

That would be nice, one less thing to worry about at delivery. :thumbsup2

No date set for inducement right? I need to make sure to find a wifi spot and check the boards the week I am gone... because I'm guessing that will be the time of D-Day, I will be the last to know.. boohoo.

I tried acessing the boards from my Itouch, hard to navigate the pages. If it's on front page of the community board I can find it.. but not if it's on another page.. too tiny to click the page numbers.

hmm, maybe I can save the hyena thread link.. hmmm, I thik it will work.. as soon as I figure out how. :upsidedow
