::yes:: I have to agree with you on that one. You have no idea how long I argued with DH when he tried to tell me it was a boy :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: Even Alex gets freaked out when he sees a boy with long hair. Why do they want to look like a girl???

Pixster, clear out your PM box! :)
Just wanted to say thanks for the card, that was sweet!
Hi, G. WOOHOO on your planned DL trip! I'm still pondering a trip in April... :scratchin
Thanks for letting me know Alex! I didn't even realize my PM box was full but I deleted old messages. :) I'm glad you liked the card :)
Bernice- What days will you be at the park and will you be park hopping? I had to drop out of the Segway Tour and I'm not signed up for any meals. I think they are all full but I'm not sure.
I know I want to hang out with you on the trip though :)
Oh, I have a question...what is BAWB?

Aww....so you won't be here that weekend? :( That stinks. I can't take off work because I'm taking 3 days off next week. I'm going to take our out of town guests out. Right now they are in Canada with my 2 sisters and grandma and parents. Then I'm taking them to various places and they want to go to DL and DCA.
I was hoping to hang out with you too!

I 'm set on treating this as a solo trip, but if I see someone from the ladies group on Thursday or Friday I can easily go with the flow. I'm not into planned big group excursions. Small groups with loose plan.. no problem!

Last night I found a Walgreen's and I bought 6 cans of Arizona Georgia Peach w/ Green Tea & Ginseng drinks. I also got 2 bottles of their Pomegranate flavored one. They taste so good and yet I have a hard time finding them. I only see it at convenient stores at the gas stations or at Rite Aide or Walgreen's.
I'm now addicted to these though and have been drinking that and also orange juice in place of soda.
My bf told me that he finished a whole jug of the Green Tea W/ Honey and Ginseng at work yesterday. :faint: He's lost so much weight. He was never fat to begin with but now his waist size is a 29 or 30. :faint:

Saving us off of page 4....
Last night hubby and I ended up at Friday's.. it was yummy! I had bacon wrapped shrimp for my entree, yummmmmmmm. Screw Applebee's (it's a few blocks away from our apt, had a crappy meal last time) , we're going to Friday's from now on!
He asked the wait server for a "fruity" drink , she offered up a new Mojito with cranberry juice. She brought it to the table, not only did he get a glass full, but a whole freakin shaker full! Perfect for sharing, melty and fruity goodness. I was nicely toasted by the end of dinner. :upsidedow
Hubby said no to shopping, but we had time to kill, we took a turn walking one level of the mall. Wandered back to the car to pull it around to the movie theatre end of the mall. I was still nice and toasty warm, exclaiming to hubby - wow it's so nice outside! He looked at me oddly. :lmao:
Went to Inkheart, yes I know we picked a kid movie on our date night.. we are pathetic. It was just okay ,they could have done better. It was a great story but seemd to be cut and pasted together, didn't flow well.
Got out of the movie, not so toasty.. shivering in fact. Brrrrrr, it was 21 degrees, which really is not that bad for late January in the evening. But I guess the fruity melty goodness had worn off to make me realize.. oh crap we are in MN winter afterall. :rotfl2:
Went to Target to stroll until they kicked us out at closing. Bought mini toothpaste/brush and a small tube of sunblock for my solo trip.
As a first foray into the adult 'date night" world, not bad.
Today, absolutely NOTHING. I'm bored, surrounded by teenage boys playing Xbox 360 and DH is watching Fantastic 4 in the bedroom.. blahhhhhhhhhhh.

DH's temp is up a bit (a good thing), and I'm hoping mine is down a bit closer to normal (I haven't checked it yet.) I took a long nap this afternoon, though the boys were goofing around in the next room, so I wasn't sleeping deeply. Still nice anyway. ;)

Hello Hyenas,
Wow, our thread is so quiet! :scared: I just listed 2 Juicy pursed on ebay. I'm trying to get rid of some of my purses and make some extra http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg143/Kitty_Shadow/money-2.gif
Yesterday my bf and I went to Kiki's Bakery and got some bread and then we ate at a Japanese Ramen place. The food was good. I had a beef bowl with rice and we shared some eel (yes eel and it tastes like fish) and shrimp gyoza. My bf ordered some noodle soup. Then I went to this Hello Kitty store and got 2 Jap magazines. One came with a free heart zip pouch bag and the other came with a makeup pouch that has Alice and the Cheshire cat on it. Really cute. :goodvibes Then we stopped at Fry's Electronics and my bf bought Bram Stoker's Dracula on DVD. It had Keanu Reeves in it, Carey Elwes and Winona Ryder. I didn't know that the guy who played Dracula also played Sirius Black in Harry Potter! I'm not into horror films so I couldn't bare to watch much. :rotfl:

bump bump bumping along....
N took archery as a unit for phy ed in school, he's been asking for a compound bow ever since his first class. This is a child who rarely expresses any interest in a specific activity (beyond video games).
He researched and asked his phy ed teacher where the school rents the bows.. off we went to check out prices today.
More expensive than we thought... but they do have youth tournaments that he can join to compete. The store has an indoor shooting range, we watched a group for awhile.. ranging from pre teen to senior ciitizen.
Mostly guys, there were two teen girls hanging out with their younger brother and dad.
The lady at the store told us that the student bow is also called a family bow, any age group can use it and it does not require adjusting or much else in terms of maintenance.
They only had yellow and magenta in stock, N voted for blue .. looks like next week he will get a bow and it will be his birthday present.
Hubby and I find it interesting that two "city people" created a child that adores the outdoors. :p N has interests in fishing, rock collecting and tracking animals in the great outdoors. Last year he had a blast finding snakes, lizards and watching for animals on the surrounding mountains. Now we add archery to his interests, told him I don't want to see him shooting bambi. :scared: He rolled his eyes at me, no mom... it's archery not hunting.:sad2:
Pffft fine! Just throwing it out there before it becomes an issue :snooty:

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I have the magenta one!! My husband got on a bow kick one year and bought himself one.. and I got a little pink one.

Hi Ladies...quick drive by posting. I'm back on dry land.:cheer2: Very rough seas the first night and I was sick by dinner time. But still had fun. Arrived early in Nassau and hit the straw market (got DD a cool knockoff Coach bag for $40). Then went out to a reef in a clear water kayak, fed the fishies and watched them thru the bottom of the boat. Very neat. Pix, you would love Nassau, one entire street of nothing but high end purse and name brand products, along with lots of bling! But you know me, I went to the straw market and bought the cheap knockoffs.:lmao: Got back on the boat, had formal dinner. Food was very good...ate & ate & ate!
The next day we went to CocoCay (private island) and I parasailed first thing in the morning (blowing chunks on my way down)!:lmao: Despite feeding my breakfast to the fishies as chum at 1,500 feet I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was colder than expected, but we still rented wetsuits and went snorkeling. I didn't like snorkeling, need to practice in a pool first, kind of panicked me. Plus it was very windy and kinda rough seas, so not good for a beginner to learn.
Anyway, we are back on dry land and contemplating WDW tomorrow. Gotta go pick my nephew up from school so I'll TTYL and my sister will put our photos on so we can show you.:beach:

Not bad for an unplanned pic in the heat and humidity of a MN July. We were attending the Uptown Art Fair, hot and sticky! Just a few weeks before we had moved back to MN, the joy of being with family again is reflected in our happy faces. :goodvibes Maybe some day I will hire the photographer to do family pics.:)

An exerpt from the article:
"President Barack Obama announced Monday that he will nominate Ron Sims, the top elected official in Washington state's most populous county, as the second-in-command at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
If confirmed by the Senate, Sims will oversee day-to-day operations at an agency with 8,500 workers, a nearly $39 billion budget and a thorny problem: millions of foreclosures threatening homeownership nationwide. He told a news conference he was honored to have been chosen and would carry out the president's commitment to improving the lives of people in the nation's cities and closing the gap between the haves and have-nots in American society."

Good Evening Hyenas,
I had the day off of work today. I took our 2 family friends out shopping at the Camarillo Outlet. They bought a ton of clothes and shoes. They bought stuff from Coach as well. My feet hurt from walking for so many hours straight. :faint: We stopped by another mall but only for 2 or 3 stores before I dropped them back at my parents house.
I got my bf a necklace from Guess for Valentine's Day. The sales clerk said they just got it in. I hope he likes it. I got a pair of pants on sale from GAP.
I'm so tired..... :faint:

2 part year resident state returns :faint:
MN is super easy to file :thumbsup2
CA was NOT easy. :sad2: Holy cow people!
Thank goodness for Turbo Tax or I would still be scratchin my head trying to figure it out. :crazy2:
Next year will be uber easy and a better state return :goodvibes
Other happy news... the union and district decided to use the performance pay plan starting this year. Much easier to change lanes with continuing ed and other activities without requiring the huge expense of college credits. It's a slightly higher pay scale too.. back pay! Not a lot.. but every dollar counts right?
Next check should be nicely padded, 2 after workday meetings/workshops and 2 days subbing for after school activities. Nice.. but I must admit all the extra hours away from home sucks! It screws up the dialysis schedule, last night he didn't get started until 7 pm.. and then we had a faulty catridge. ARGH!! Had to restart at 8 pm .. didn't get done until close to 10:30. :headache:

My sis called, wanting to kill some time and inviting me along to walk the mall while lil guy is at preschool.
Unfortunately, I was in the midst of finishing the dreaded taxes, hadn't showered yet and still had to make "batch" for dialysis.
We chatted for a bit instead.
Apparently lil guy had been sick for over a week with low grade fever, runny nose and cough.
Typical preschooler cold, building his immunity, but for him it wasn't good.
He refused to eat for 4 days :scared:
For a typical kid it's not too much of a problem, they lose a bit but gain it back quickly.
I call him lil guy for a reason, he's 3 years old and weighs 20 pounds, 8 oz.
He doesn't have any body fat to spare!
Now sis is thinking, if he continues to get colds (won't eat).. that she will pull him from preschool until next year.

Poor mom too, I know she worries about his weight and growth. But what can ya do? She gives him plenty of time to eat, until he gets bored at the table. Offers high calorie snacks several times a day.. anything to get him to grow and gain. I think his time spent in NICU and not being able to eat still has some effect on him. He's always been a slow small amt feeder.

3 - $5 Enfamil Lipil x April
I signed up E and me .. different due dates. Just need to wait and see what happens.

that's weird.. did you say you were breastfeeding or formula?
For E I think I put in formula, for me I put breast.. I wonder if that's why? All I got for Enfamil in my name was a coupon and a rebate for DHA vitamin gels.
hmm, I think I choose "other" for hospital too instead of the list.
Sign up again under a different email, leave off apt number. Maybe change your due date.
Ask your mom and all of your family to sign up too!
The names on the checks don't mean a thing, they get scanned in as a coupon anyway.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am back at work today and it's really boring at the moment. I thought I would have tons to do but it's really quiet at the moment. Hopefully things will pick up this afternoon.
My feet are no longer sore from yesterday. It did hurt a bit last night which made it difficult to sleep. :sad2: I'm planning to take our guests to DL this week but the weather forecast shows rain from Thursday through Saturday. Not sure what will happen but we'll just have to wait and see. Who knows? Maybe it will be sunny. :confused3

When he got home I asked him if he wanted to take a shower with me.. He got all...:cool1: :cool1: ::yes:: I looked at him, and said.. Dont get your hopes up, I just need something sturdy to lean on. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ugh. I think I am just going to bath at the car wash from now on.. Go through with my window down or something.. I cant stand for long, and trying to heft my gigantic butt out of the tub is UNREAL.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I survied my first plane ride this weekend. DBF and I went to San Francisco. I tried to get him to drive :drive: but he bought a package deal (flight, room, and rental car) on Priceline and said he was going with or with out me. :rotfl2: I was petrified and the worst part was that our seats weren't even next to each other since we booked at the last minute but the man next to me traded with DBF even though DBF had a middle seat. It must have been the look on my face :confused3 but I don;'t think he wanted to sit by me. :rotfl: He was probably afraid I was gonna end up in his lap.
Anyway, we had a blast. Did all the tourist stuff. Toured Alcatraz, drove down Lombard Street, ate clam chowder in Sourdough Brad bowls.

Gun range?
Hope you husband showered and washed his clothing SEPERATELY from you.
(Range master since 1990) Minute particles of lead, from a gun range, can embed themselves into clothing, hair, gloves, shoes, and skin of a shooter.
Needless to say, lead exposure is a bad thing, especially for pregnat women.
I had several women that needed to shoot each quarter that became "expecting"
I required them to wear a face mask (breathing, full clothing covering exposed skin (arms, neck, etc.) gloves, all hair tucked inside cap, and glasses (of course) and hearing protection.
Several of the men that shoot also had wives that were expecting. they got the same requirement, with the added warning to wash their clothing they wear on the range seperately from any others.
This was as a result of a study done, the revealed that abnormally high levels of lead was in the blood of the wives and children of firearms instructors.
just an FYI

The kids were running around chasing each other, big smiles and squeals. The moms were having kind of a serious discussion, actually. But still good. DH loves Legos. Apparently he used to have a bunch as a kid. So he buys boxes and boxes of them for the boys, especially DS8, who is really into the specialty ones (Star Wars, Mars Mission, etc.) They get them, rip open the boxes (so you can't store them back in the box) then they get shoved into boxes of generic Lego pieces so that you can never again find all the pieces to the specialty items. :headache:

Even I could see how much lower he was on the ultrasound. She was having a hard time finding his head! She wants me to take more calcium.. Other then that, everything is peachy! I go back in two weeks, and I could pop these buggers out anytime after that! Well.. I could pop them out whenever, but at 34 weeks she isnt concerned. OMG. Thats like a week and a half away. :faint:

I'm still working my way through this darn cold. I was all stuffed up this morning, and had a doc appointment. Wonder of wonders, as soon as I got in the room and was waiting for her (staring at the ceiling, looking at the charts and notices on the wall, contemplating my navel) it occurred to me that, for the first time in a few days, I could actually breathe through both nostrils! Why is it that when you go to the doctor with symptoms of some illness, they miraculously clear up while you're waiting to be seen? :lmao:

So I'm anxiously awaiting some photo cards I ordered online. I thought it would be a cute idea for Valentines, since I had several photos of the boys wearing Mr. Incredible costumes. There's a photo on the front of them posing with 'muscle arms', then three teeny ones on the inside left: One of a closeup of DS8's face (complete with mask around the eyes), a closeup of DS4 (his mask is upside down and pulled down so low his ears are sticking out :lmao: ) and another closeup of just the two heads together. I think my greeting was something like, "Wishing you an INCREDIBLE Valentine's Day!" :rotfl2:
I ordered the darn thing almost two weeks ago, and am surprised it's taking so long. I checked on my order confirmation (email), and it says to expect delivery in "7-10 business days", so I guess they should arrive Friday or Monday, depending on how they count that first day. I hope they turn out well! :thumbsup2

No... Every once in a while, my ribs start to tingle and go numb. I think it is because a baby is pushing on them. :confused3 not totally sure, but it is really unnerving. Have I mentioned that I cant WAIT to get these little buggers the heck out of me? :crazy2:

I was just admiring your ticker. I can't believe it's past 32 weeks already! I'm so happy. I know there was a good chance that you'd go into labor early, and a friend of mine had her baby at just over 31 weeks. The baby was scary-tiny, and I was so afraid for her. So I've just sort of been holding my breath through this whole thing, ticking off the weeks: Yay, past 24! Yay, 26! Yay, pushin' 30!
Now the babies are soooo big (even for a single baby) that I am so relieved. I know the lungs are the last thing to develop, so the last few weeks are important, especially for boys (who develop slower.) But WOW. You're past the big milestones, and the rest is gravy. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I KNOW!! All things considered, I have had a very easy pregnancy... Even though I feel like total crap. :lmao: But after today's appt... I was feeling like, WOW. I made it. I cant believe it. I have been so guarded with everything.. I havent even taken the tags off the stuff I have bought.
The babies are getting so big, and they are both practicing breathing.. Its just crazy to think that in just a couple of weeks they could be here! Seriously.. Blows my mind!! Makes me want to clean, or put the crib together... or something!:rotfl2:

It seems like the more people tell me how hard it is going to be, the more hard headed about it I get. Im all.. I dont care HOW hard it will be! I am pretty sure she is just taking care of Alex and Mikalah while I am in the hospital. Maybe for a week or so, depending on how long I stay in the hospital. She is going to stay on base at the hotel, so she can run Alex to and from school and such. But other then that... Nope, she wont be helping with the babies or anything. Frelan is taking off a week to two weeks, depending on when they come, and what day they are born.

Oh that's great about Frelan! DH took off that first week, and it made such a huge difference! I was such a MESS those first couple weeks, and even though I was scared to death to be left alone with the baby, of course it was fine. :rotfl:

Yep.. With one baby, I would have no problem.. After I had Alex, his dad stayed one night, then I was on my own. I would just look at him... now what do we do? :rotfl2: Then with Mikalah I was SOOOOOOOO sick. That pneumonia kicked my butt! I think Frelan stayed home for a few days after she came.. I thought I was going to die! I had Alex, who was... barely three? Pneumonia, and a crabby newborn. Oh LORD.. All she did was CRY! For like 6 months all she did was cry! Turned out she was hungry, and the nipple on the bottles werent giving her milk fast enough. once we put her on the biggest nipple we could get... and started really feeding her reg. baby food.. MAN. She was a good baby!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh yeah! That was Alex in the hospital. He nursed for 6 hours straight!! I was finally BAWLING, and trying to wake up his dad.. Just do SOMETHING! I cant handle it anymore! He got a nurse, and she was great! She had been a L&D nurse for like 26 years or something.. She was this MASSIVE woman, who just scooped him up.. put a sassy in his mouth, sat in the rocker and just snuggled him up to her and rocked him to sleep. I have to tell you.. I handnt slept in 2 or 3 days by then, and I was so impressed!! :lmao: I wanted to take her home with me!

We had no such luck (the first time anyway.) DS cried night and day that first day, the next night, and then in the morning a male nurse came in. He took one look at me and said, "Have you slept at all?" I said, "No, the baby's been crying or nursing..."
He said, "If it's all right with you, I'm going to bring a chair just outside your door and hold the baby. He'll be fine and close by. I need you to get some sleep."
He kept DS calm for two hours. We spent the first half hour staring at each other, going "WTH did we get ourselves into???", then slept for an hour and a half. :lmao:

Newborns... They are something. I am so not looking forward to having two of them at once. I am looking forward to them getting a bit older though.. We were talking talking about how we are going to contain them when they start crawling, and one goes one way, and the other heads off the other way.. DH thinks we should bungie them together... that way they just snap back if they get to far from each other!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That sounds like a good plan. Although that won't stop them from getting into stuff TOGETHER.
My brothers were close in age (15 months), and apparently when they were little, they were egging each other on into trouble. The true definition of 'double trouble'!

Yes.. I had a whole section in this book on twins I have..devoted to how much smarter twins are when it comes to getting into stuff. They just KNOW what the other is thinking, and can be feisty! Thats alright.. Feisty is my middle name!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Disneyland? On a Wednesday??? Are you playing hookey, girl??? :rotfl:
:rotfl: Nope! I had permission. I was planning to take Thursday or Friday off but then the weather forecast said it would rain. I didn't want to chance it so I took them today. What's awesome is that the CM at the ticket booth said I could get them the 2fer tickets, even though it's for So-Cal residents only and I did tell her they were from out of the country, she asked for my I.D. and that was it. I might go with them to DCA this weekend. My parents said we will have to wait and see. If we go on Saturday then my little sister will be able to go too. Our family friends are leaving on Sunday.
We had a blast at DL and we took a lot of pics. The wait time for everything was short except for Nemo. We didn't get a chance to ride that and Matterhorn broke down. We checked in the afternoon but the line was too long and they didn't want to wait so we skipped it. They shopped and used my AP discount and we also ate at Blue Bayou and they liked it. :thumbsup2 I also had them try a dole whip float and bengal bbq and they liked that too! :cheer2:
We did the walkthrough for Sleeping Beauty's castle. It was interesting to see the little changes and I thought it was cute. :) Oh and they have closed the toy shop in Fantasyland that is next to the Snow White ride. They are making it a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and it's opening in April '09. Small World was closed for refurbishments and I did see that they changed the boats (they were doing a test run).
::yes::
I believe these are the family friends visiting?
But she won't take a day off to see ME in March :snooty:

Managed to spend a day at WDW before coming home. We went to the Magic Kingdom, it was very cold out, in the 40's. I think the high was maybe mid 50's and also very windy. But still fun!!! Got to see the new Celebrations?? parade. Was nice, very colorful.

oh yeah.. you should try the organic milk as a taste test. You might be surprised to find that you like milk afterall.
The cheapie milk has on off taste to me, I don't drink it either (except as a fakey latte). Has a chemical after taste IMO, now organic-- slllllllllllurrrrrrrrrrp I can suck down several glasses a day. ::yes:: :goodvibes :goodvibes
The really bad thing.. your kids will get used to the taste of organic and cry when you switch back to the cheapie milk. :lmao: But at $6 a gallon-- uhhh not happening! :scared: N will suck down a gallon in two days all by himself if I buy the organic. (and his tummy is not agreeable with lots of milk -- pewwwwww stinky boy)

Hello,
My bf called me around 12:30am or almost 1am. He was headed home from work and got on the freeway onramp. He spun out (due to the rain) and did a 360 and hit the center divider. I thank God that he was not hurt and that no one was hurt. There were no cars around him at that hour. He exited the freeway and slowly drove down the pass that he always drives (through the canyon). He made it to the bottom of the hill and called me. He used 411 on his cell phone and called a tow truck company. They told him it would be several hours until they could assist him.
I have AAA and I decided to give it a shot and see if they could assist him. The lady I spoke with was so nice. She said wherever I go, they will go and that if I drove to where he was, they could help out. I was so relieved! I hopped in my car and drove over to where he was. I hugged him right when I got out of the car and said I was glad he was okay.
We waited almost an hour for the tow truck to arrive. It was drizzling a bit hard and we were freezing. I eventually waited inside my car and my bf took a blanket from his trunk and gave it to me to keep warm.
The tow truck arrived and put his car up on the bed. They towed his car back to the house.
My bf is going to call the insurance company today. His suspension is messed up and his driver's side wheel (it also messed up his door a bit). He also has a dent on the right side of his bumper.
We got home really late (almost 2:30am). I called into work and said I would be late (I was only 1 hr late). I hope my bf can find a good body shop.

Hey guys!! Ugh. I feel like CRAP. I have been having contractions pretty steadily the past few days. They get going good.. and then they stop. Which is good, it IS a few weeks before we want them to come. But it is making for an uncomfortable time for me right now.
Pix.. Im so glad your bf is okay! :grouphug:
Bernice.. I am going to try the Organic milk as soon as we open it, I dont recall if I have ever had it before. But in general, it is the texture and thickness of milk that just :crazy2: icks me out.
Meanwhile.. Im just sitting here on my sofa with my legs crossed.. Trying not to pop out any babies on the floor. :rotfl2:

Have you tried non-fat milk? That's what we drink now. I was raised on 2%, and always thought low-fat and non-fat milk looked really weird, sort of... thin. Does that make sense? Like white water. :confused3 :confused3
We always had 2%, except when we had whole milk once each child stopped nursing and switched over. (Whole milk is WOWEE good!) :lmao:
Anyway, when DH's heart stuff started, I started buying non-fat for him in a small container. But every once in awhile we'd run out of 2% and I'd use the non-fat for the boys. I was stunned when they never noticed the difference! :rotfl:
So now I buy only non-fat, and life is much simpler.

Yep... TONS of it! Im figuring that is most likely what was going on. I have been slacking on the water.. That, and I am just so BIG, having tons of contractions at this stage is just kinda what happens. My dr. said not to worry about them unless they were coming every few minutes for at least an hour.. I swear Im not going in until my water breaks though. :snooty: I dont know.. Im flipping between.. They are NEVER coming out.. to, OMG!!! They are coming!! SOON!. I have... and yes.. Its like white water to me!:rotfl2: I have deep seeded milk issues. My parents used to make me sit at the table until I drank ALL my milk. Even if it was all warm and nasty. I always swore I would never do that to my kids... Not that I would ever HAVE to.. They drink milk like its going out of style!:rotfl2:

Of course you know I didn't go through natural childbirth, I had c-sections. The docs felt that my uterus wouldn't withstand contractions and could rupture. When I went into the hospital to have DS8, and I was in the hospital gown and getting hooked up to everything, I started having contractions. Then after several minutes they really started to HURT! In a panic I told the nurse, "I think I'm having contractions! I'm not supposed to have contractions!" (I'm picturing my belly splitting open and my child and all my organs spilling out, LOL!)
She looks at me like I'm freakin' NUTS, and says gently, "It's OK... You're in a hospital." Oh. Right... DUH! :rotfl2:
But one of my friends described childbirth. She said, "It felt like I was passing a dinner plate!" Oh my! :lmao:

I have...
Oh HECK YEAH! We were big milk drinkers in my family.
So was DH. In fact, DH was so cute on our first date. The waiter came bearing a wine list and wine glasses, asking if he could take our drink order, yammering on about his own recommendations. When he finally stopped talking DH said, "I'd like a large glass of milk, please." :rotfl2:
All at the same time I was so impressed that DH wasn't trying to impress me, relieved that I wasn't going to be talked into trying wine (which I don't like), glad that he clearly speaks his mind regardless of what anyone thinks, and charmed that he loved milk! :thumbsup2

They're gonna come out all right, but hopefully not for a few more weeks. :crowded: :rotfl2:
Of course you know I didn't go through natural childbirth, I had c-sections. The docs felt that my uterus wouldn't withstand contractions and could rupture. When I went into the hospital to have DS8, and I was in the hospital gown and getting hooked up to everything, I started having contractions. Then after several minutes they really started to HURT! In a panic I told the nurse, "I think I'm having contractions! I'm not supposed to have contractions!" (I'm picturing my belly splitting open and my child and all my organs spilling out, LOL!)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OMG. How funny!! A dinner plate?? SCARY!!! I have never gone into labor on my own, so we are both a little on edge with knowing when it is actually REAL. I guess its when they REALLY start hurting.. but hopefully I figure it out before a baby pops out! :rotfl2:

Apparently she wasn't that far dilated when the doc first checked, so he disappeared and told the nurse to call him when she got to 10 (or whatever.) I don't think they'd even given her any meds yet, and about 10 minutes later she was really grunting. She asked her DH to get the doc, and he said, "But he said ~" and she screamed, "I am passing a DINNER PLATE HERE, get the doctor!"
Turns out she had dilated to 10 and ready to rumble in just minutes, which is very unusual. The baby's head was on it's way out by the time the doc got there! :rotfl:

Another friend started having contractions in the middle of the night. She realized she hadn't shaved her legs in awhile and didn't want everyone noticing her hairy legs, so she hopped into the shower and was shaving between grunts and groans. I just :lmao: picturing her making sure her dang legs were hair-free! Even her DH thought she was nuts! :rotfl:
We sure get some funny ideas at this time, don't we? :scratchin

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I can remember my dr. running down the hallway to catch Alex. No one expected a fist time mother to push a kid out in just a couple of minutes.. but I DID it! My friend asked the nurse if she had ever delivered a baby.. she said no, and my friend was like.. Well, you better get ready, because here he comes!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
With Mikalah, it was just dh, and the nurse with me.. I was pushing, and no one was watching to see if maybe, just MAYBE there was a baby coming. I was like.. Hey!! I can feel a BABY COMING OUT! Mikalah was TOTALLY CROWNING, and no one had noticed! To top it off, I had pneumonia, and every time I coughed, she came out a little more. Again.. Here comes the Dr. screaming into the room.. STOP PUSHING!! I am NOT PUSHING!! She is just coming out!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OMG. I just shoot babies out like rockets. :lmao: :lmao:

OMG! I hope you told your current OB this information, it's good to know!!! :lmao:
Yeah, my leg-shaving friend actually VOMITED her baby out. She had, of course, pictured it being this wonderful moment, really bonding with her DH and new baby. Instead she was violently ill, and every time she tossed cookies, the baby popped out further. She didn't even know the baby had been born because she was heaving so bad. She felt like she missed the whole thing. Poor thing. :grouphug:

I was watching... oh geez, what's that morning show with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford? I don't usually watch morning TV, but I was feeling crappy so crawled under a blanket and flipped the TV on.
Anyway, they were talking about Valentine gift ideas. The first thing I saw was Fundies, which is apparently underwear built for two; one gigantic pair of undies with 4 leg holes. :rotfl:
They mentioned a trend of getting yourself waxed and then having Swarovski crystals glued to your skin, "in a red heart pattern, your sweetheart's initials, or even a skull and crossbones!" :rotfl2:

Grrrrrrrr...
I told DS4 to go change his pull-up TWO HOURS ago! He whined and carried on, and I ignored him. So he left the room (as if going to the bathroom to clean up), and then it occurred to me I hadn't heard or seen him in a long time.
I found him in the living room looking through a magazine. I again told him to clean himself up, and brought him into the bathroom. More whining ensued.
I ignored him and left.
NOW he is saying, "Mama, I just peed on the floor!"
"You WHAT?!?!"

He wanted me to come help him clean it up. I told him he was too big to be pooping or peeing in his pants, and enough was enough. If he made a mess, he'd have to clean the whole thing up.
Now he's doing the kind of crying that involves at least 4 octaves. (It is a little funny...) :lmao:

He always does have to clean up his pull-up. Though when he pushes it right to the time we have to leave the house for something (to pick up his brother, or for an appointment) then I have to do it, of course. :rolleyes2
