Hi Melody!:flower3: Good to hear from you, hope things are going well.

Megan - wow, 2 months! When did our Hyenalettes get so big?:lmao: Sent those clothes that I found for Jazzy at the garage sales. Never did find any good baby boy clothes (sorry Vinny!). Anyway mailed them off yesterday.

We use our rice cooker quite a bit. But mainly for rice. We eat a lot of Jasmine rice and baked chicken breast for dinner, at least twice a week. I've tried a few other things in it, but mainly stick to rice. I've heard they are a good option for college students in the dorms where hot plates or microwaves are not always allowed.

Tattoos. Personally I am not that crazy about them. But to each his/her own. Except of course when it comes to my children. My DH has two, one on each arm. I have eight...but 7 of mine are little tiny blue dots that were used to line up the radiation lasers during breast cancer treatment. And my biggest one that I got in December is my nipple tattoo on my reconstructed breast. Hmmm...maybe that's why I don't like tattoos!:lmao:

Hey Sarah! How's it going? Getting pretty excited about the cruise?? Sucks that you don't get to go to Mexico. But then again, it's just a good excuse to go again.:thumbsup2

So guess what I did last weekend? I correctly predicted who was going to win Las Vegas. I told DH that Reed and Stewart weren't going to win. I said that it would either be Milsaps or Short. But then right before the race I looked at him and said scratch Milsaps & Short, Villapoto is going to win. How freaky was that? :lmao:

I know.. 2 months. Can you believe it? I cant. We have a new dr. I switched from having the kids go to a ped. to a family practitioner.. I figure that way, if we all come down with something.. like the swine flu or something ;) we can all be seen by the same guy. I dont know, I just like the idea of us all seeing the same person. ANYWAYS. This guy was AWESOME. He was so nice, and funny. I really like him. So did hubby.. and Mikalah for that matter. :lmao: He said he had never had newborn twins before. Lots of newbies, and some twins.. Just never newborn twins. He was all excited! :lmao:

Frelan didnt want to come with me, and if we werent having shots.. Okay. no prob. But have you ever tried to deal with two little babes getting shots?? :scared1: Good Gravy they were pissed!:lmao: But they got over it.. and are now sleeping off the tylenol we gave them. Well.. except Vinny. He is having tummy time on the floor. He keeps falling asleep though.. what a bum. :lmao:they are growing perfectly.. Vinny is just above the 50th percentile all the way around, and Jazz is too.. Not bad for being pre term babies! :cool1:

Yay for clothes! :cool1: Thank you!

Tattoos... I have two. One on my wrist, and one on my back. I want a REALLY BIG one on my back. We have a friend that works in a tattoo shop, and he is helping me figure out what the best way to lay it out would be. If my kids want them, I am okay with it. As long as they know what they are doing.. and are at least 18. Piercing?? I dont care. Its not permanent.. Funny.. Frelan and I were just talking about this last night. I wonder why? Oh yeah! We were talking about hair color.. I told him I didnt care if the kids wanted to dye their hair. Any color.. Whatever. But then I did let Alex have a full on Mohawk last summer.. So not a whole lot bugs me about that kinda thing. He aksed what I would think if Mikalah got a Mohawk or something. :confused3 He is the one that is super attached to her hair! Shoot.. IM the one that has to deal with that mop!! Shave it all off! :rotfl2:

Oh.. and we got the info on our ten year reunion.. They are doing a thing at Tulalip Casino.. and then a couple of days later a family thing at a park in town.. I am pretty sure we arent going. I KNOW we arent going to Casino. Because really.. who wants to watch my 4 kids? Heck.. I dont even want to watch them most of the time. :lmao: But it is kinda far away for just a day in the park thing.. Besides.. The last time I was In Marysville I had a little mental breakdown.. That was right after my dad died, so who knows what kind of crazy reaction I would have this time.

Yep, I'm getting excited and yep, we are planning to go again once we can go to Mexico. :lmao: I was looking up things to do in Catalina...I thing we are going to do the Glass Bottom Boat tour and I want to do the Segway Tour.

Wow, that is kinda freaky. :rotfl: I can't wait till the 25th for Glen Helen. Have you heard anything about Reed racing the outdoor? After Vegas he said something about maybe racing in a few weeks?:confused3 That was kinda dirty what he tried to do to Stewart, don't ya think? DBF says rubbin's racin' but still...

sorry pix for the bad day. I coughed all night long and never slept. I should have gotten on the computer and we could have chatted. I would have at least been upright and not coughed!

Today would have been my dad's 71st birthday. I think I'll make a cake tonight or brownies to celebrate! I miss that man so much right now. :thumbsup2

I woke up late in the afternoon (around 12:30pm). My bf was asked by 2 managers if he could come into work today for a couple of hours. :sad2: I'm a little bummed that he got called in :(

We went to the mall earlier and I had to return an item. This lady rudely cut in front of me in line and I was almost upset by one sales associate who said: "Next person in line" and ignored me and helped this lady who cut in front of me. I said: "What just happened? What the heck?? That was so rude!"

I keep having poor experiences at Macy's. There are either no sales associates in sight to help you or the employees have an attitude that shows that they DON'T want to help you. Maybe I should stick to Nordstrom. They are always friendly and helpful there.

Nordstrom is all about customer service first. Macy's in nice, but just not the same. Six weeks after my mastectomy I had to get fitted for my breast prosthesis. There were several smaller shops, but the lady at Kaiser highly recommended Nordstrom. They made what could have been a very traumatic experience into an actually fun time and helped make me feel so much better about everything. They had one lady in the Portland area that works with breast cancer survivors and she scheduled an entire afternoon just to help me find the exact right shape and the perfect bras. :thumbsup2 As you know I don't shop at the mall often (thrift shops, garage sales and clearance racks are more my style). But when I do go to the mall, I always swing by to see if they have anything I like.:thumbsup2

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Just wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day. This year is kind of a bittersweet one for me. My mother passed away on May 10, 2005. So this is the first year that date has fallen on Mother's Day. The ache in my heart isn't there as often, but it never really gets better. When I think about her, I still miss her just as much as I did the day she passed away. She wouldn't want me to sit around on Mother's Day crying over her, so today I will keep busy.

I need to start thinning some of my radish & turnip seedlings in the garden and also to plant my green beans. Might even go get a couple of cherry tomatoes and some cucumbers to plant this week.:thumbsup2

Today I want to share what my DD wrote in my card...I know I'm not always the funnest person to be around and I just want to thank you for always being tolerant with me. I just want you to be happy with yourself and all of us. You deserve more than a card but i never know what to get you. I know you'll always be there for me & you don't know how much I rely on that. Hopefully one day I'll make everything up to you. Have a happy Mother's Day Mom, and thank you for supporting me in everything I do. I love you always.

So how sweet was that?! Being the mother of a teenage daughter isn't always easy and there are lots of times we butt heads. I read that and thought "OH MY!! My baby's growing up".:lovestruc It's the first time I've gotten a very heartfelt message in my card.

That is so true! I couldn't agree with you more. Nordstrom has awesome customer service. All the Macy's in my area are horrible. I also like how one Nordstrom here has a day spa. They really pamper you and take care of you (even if it's just for a basic manicure or pedicure). I also like their Shiseido counter girls because they know about the products and are really helpful. They also have given me free facial cards. You call in and scheduled a facial and they give you one for free. I haven't had a chance to do that yet but I'd like to.

With a little play check on the bottom for a million dollars.. :lovestruc:love::love: Seriously!! OMG. My 7yo knows me really well, and it is surprising. I love that kid! Survived the busy Saturday :goodvibes

Early morning, picked up DN and the rental .. ran back to get my boys and we went out for breakfast at Perkin's.
DN happily telling us some of the crazy things he and his buddies did on deployment. He said there were many nights of just being bored standing on guard duty. They would get silly and make up trivia games.. using their radios talking to each other at various posts... until they got yelled at over the radio by a senior officer (not part of their group). :lmao:

Picked up my oldest DN and made the 3 hour drive up to Duluth. Comparing music tastes with each others Mp3 players over the stereo. It was a hoot to find that we like the same types and introduce them to songs they hadn't heard of before.

Stopped at a car rental place to meet up with my brother.. only to find that no where in the city will they rent to under 21 yr olds (military is allowed to rent starting at age 18 in most locations near his base) :headache:

Instead he got a ride with his GF, we took off to my parent's house on strict orders to say NOTHING.

Got to my parent's and had to make up a lie.. uhhhh our car is in the shop. :rolleyes1

Few hours later as we were finishing up with lunch, he strolled into the house -- like it was an ordinary family visit.

My dad was a bit stunned, he was abit puzzled at first. My mom made a rush at DN with much laughs, exclamations of "oh wow!" and fierce hugging. My sis looked at me, scowled, shook her finger at me scolding us for pulling this trick .. :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Later "the boys" .. for all we have among us are boys... played badmitton in the backyard. My dad kept asking why dont they put up a net? And we repiled.. nah... it's not really about playing the game anyway.:cutie: No competition, just batting the birdie around and without a net it was easier for the younger ones to play too.

Later on DN disappeared to my parent's bedroom. Taking hours to dress for his GF's prom, we had to tease him about taking as long as his GF to get ready. :lmao:

I managed to grab a pic in uniform before we left, sniffle sniffle.. the cute reddish blonde haired boy with the adorable dimple has become a handsome young Marine.

He went back to his base today, will be on leave in a few weeks. Then he has training for his next year's deployment...Afghanistan. :worried:

My boys didn't remember it was Mother's Day. :snooty:

Eloy scolded them , then went off to fetch me breakfast and coffee. :lovestruc

Lazy day lounging at home, watching a sci fi marathon of Eureka, nibbling on a doughnut and using the computer. No plans, no worries.

:cloud9:

oh yeah, E's brother never bothered to call or email if he was coming or not.

E called his mom today and heard that yes he did get the intro letter that we revised for him and sent it in.. (good, but why didn't he send a thank you?? or some kind of email saying he got it, like I asked when I sent the revision to him??? )

Couldn't talk to him because he was asleep, it was 1 pm :sad2:

Hello,

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day:) My bf and I went to DTD. We watched Star Trek at AMC. Let me just say that I'm not a Star Trek ("trekkie") fan but this movie was really good! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 You guys should watch it.

Also, I did not care much for Chris Pine when he was in the 2nd Princess Diaries movie, but let me just say that he makes one HOT Captain Kirk!

He can beam me up any day!! :teeth: :rotfl: http://i42.tinypic.com/i41fec.jpg

We were starving after the movie (we hadn't eaten a thing all day) so we decided to check out the buffet Storyteller's. Luckily their buffet started at 5pm and it was after 6pm. The buffet was good. They had sliced lamb (which I thought was prime rib because of the look and taste of it). There was a sign that said "New York Sirloin" and I thought that's what it was. It turns out, I wasn't the only one confused by this sign. The CM carving the meat said that the one on his board was the NY Sirloin and that the one next to it that was pre-sliced was lamb.

I went to World of Disney and found some cute merchandise. Here are some pics:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/eatmypixiedust/P5100021.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/eatmypixiedust/P5100022.jpg

I got these 2 bags that I found in the middle of the store. They were way at the bottom and not easy to spot. I thought they were really cute. I knew if I didn't jump on it they would "disappear," which is what always happends if I wait for items I see at DL.

This Tink shirt is adorable but it does not come in large sizes. They look really really small. :confused3:confused: I wish I was thin enough to wear it. :guilty:

I was shocked that Simon Peg was in this movie. He's funny and I like some of his movies (Run Fat Boy Run, Hot Fuzz). Some parts were funny so you might like it. :)

I got this wrap-around bracelet from the DL hotel gift shop last week. It's hard to wrap around my wrist....didn't know it recquired assistance! I'll take a pic and post it. Hi Ladies. Hope everybody had a great Mother's Day! DH rode his Harley to the coast and visited with his mother. The kids and I just spent kind of a lazy day at home. I worked in the garden in the afternoon. Everything is growing great.:thumbsup2

I now have radishes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, potatoes, cilantro, tomatoes, pumpkins, green beans, and turnips. My cucumbers didn't make it, so I will be replanting in a week or so, along with a couple of cherry tomatoes and a few bell pepper plants. Then I think I will be finished for my summer crops.:thumbsup2

Good Morning! I hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Stitch - I have never been but I think adults dress up too and I think it's fine if you go with out kids. Last Halloween DBF and I were at Sea World on Halloween and they gave us a bag to go Trick or Treating. It was kinda fun, I hadn't Trick or Treaded in like 15 years. :rotfl:

We are all sick here with a nasty cough. I just wish this last week of school were out so I didnt have to worry about that.

Actually I am welcoming the heat right now because I think much of our illness stems from allergies so if we can burn some of this pollen off then we will be good to go.

Good Morning!!

So it sounds like all of Moms had a nice day. I went to church and then to my DD Beckys for a wonderful brunch! Yum yum! She made the best baked french toast, along with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, strawberries, and I made some cranberry orange scones. No dieting that day for sure!!! :guilty:

Shawna, how are the overcoats doing? Any pics perchance of them?

Pix, the DL stuff looks really cute. I agrree with you about the shorts. I think they are really cute, but too short for me. The t-shirt is cute, but probably too young looking for me.

Today, I am sewing another apron for my SIL. I already have two made for my sisters. I'm going to give them to them when we all get together for our annual Sisters and Mom trip coming up in a couple of weeks. (I can't remember if I told you guys this or not. I know. :scared1: I just realized this morning that the recital is coming up quick and I'm terrified. June 2. I need to get the hairspray costume out of the way today. No time for illness! The lyrical costume will be made out of Jalie pattern 2674 view A. It will be all white. Very simple. Its an additional dance for a family that lost their newborn baby sister a few months ago so this dance is a tribute to the baby. The whole family, all 6 kids, all dance at the studio and the boys will wear a white suite and the girls will wear this. They wanted to do this dance for their mom. I think we will all be crying.

That is a tough one if you didn't actually like the series. I will tell you that you have to have absolutely no knowledge of Star Trek to enjoy the movie - but if you already didn't like it, I dunno.

I thought this movie did give it more of a relevance - an actual purpose for why the people exist, as well as a more "real" feel to it. This is also coming from someone who grew up watching the 60's series over and over again :rotfl2:

OUCH! Summer bills stink! Luckily ours dont go THAT high but they go high enough for our size house. I'm dreading the next bill. I turn it up during the day but with Jeff home he hates the heat so he wants it low. Right now we cant afford for it to be too low all the time. yuck!

Sarah, is your cruise still going to Catalina instead of Mexico?

Yep. :sad2: I really wanted to go to Ensenada. We had fun there on our last cruise riding quads on the beach and we really wanted to do this again. We almost postponed the trip but DBF’s sister didn’t know when she would be able to go again so we just decided to go anyway. There are 6 of us going, DBF and myself, DBF’s sister and her husband and DBF’s grandma and her sister. Only DBF and I have cruised before. I’m still excited to go. I’m trying to figure out what we’ll do on Catalina Island. DBF wants to scuba dive but I don’t really know how to swim so I think I want to do the Segway tour.

I honestly don't know :sad2:. You would think with John and I both working things would be great - but not really. We thought we could catch up on everything when we moved - but then the economy tanked. It is also hard for me to do coupons and other money savers working 45 hours a week :faint:

I have high hopes to get back SOMETIME before our AP's expire. We all have them except for Alec (no we didn't sneak him in, his were on a different cycle then ours). I have only got to use them once - and really want to cash in on them before they expire. I am hoping maybe late September - but also don't want to hurt Alec in school....so we are up in the air for now.

Are you confused yet? Needless to say............ swimming, get dried and ready for the day, and then catch one bus back to her school to make it for another bus is hard. So I got the SOS call, to bring her to the other HS. This is what happens with a brand new HS. They slowly have to add classes as they can.

DH has officially accepted a summer school teaching position. He will be teaching a Project Lead the Way: Gateway to Technology program for one month (beginning engineering, robotics).

It involves a 2 week training..... in Colorado Springs.

This will be his first away from home adventure with his dialysis equipment. Going it solo as the housing is at a college, no family allowed. Now if he was going to say California :rolleyes1 I would have totally splurged my airmiles and tagged along (have just enough for one trip).

His school will be piloting the program next school year. Since he will already have the training, he will be the coordinator for his location. :goodvibes Hoping that will mean an extra stipend in the paycheck :thumbsup2

Hello Everyone,

I'm having a tough time at work this week. It's really frustrating and annoying because this one evil co-worker of mine is just the biggest jerk. He spends his time "spying" on me and my fellow co-workers in the sales department. Then he runs to the boss and tells her a flock of lies! :headache::headache: He also has been purposely going up to my co-workers and pissing them off. One lady who works in QC had to step outside to calm down because he kept driving her crazy. Another co-worker of mine tried to find out why he behaves like a jerk and makes simple things difficult but she has finally given up on trying to figure him out.

I know our boss has asked him several times if something is bothering him but he says no and that everything is fine. Yeah freakin right!! :headache::mad:

Anyway, our boss is overseas until next week and then she will handle this issue. I'm not sure how much of this I can stand. I have sample pieces filed a certain way and he took some, didn't tell me and now all my records don't match. I spent over 1 hour trying to sort out 1 drawer because it was all messed up.  I still have tons of drawers and boxes to go through. I've been counting all the samples in each box and bag and finding that he took some without telling me. It's making things difficult because customers are calling me to ask for samples and I have a difficult time making sure we have them in stock.

Ughhhhh!! Do any of you work with someone like that?

Fed meyers had some GOOD deals this week. Seriously??? BOTH babies have to start crying right now? they were SLEEPING. Oh well.

Anyhow.. Frelans carpool buddy got laid off this morning. :sad1: no warning that layoffs were coming, NOTHING. And no one knows why HE got picked. The only thing I can think of is maybe least collateral damage? He lives with his mom, and doesnt have a family or anything.. :confused3 Plus Dh's manager is on leave right now. Its just bizarre. NOT a good sign that they are doing layoffs. Especially all shady like this. I was just starting to feel secure again.

Sounds like the nurse needs a lesson in empathy.

so for the 6th night in a row I have not slept. I keep coughing all night long. I'm so sick of this. I just want to sleep all night one night. I have too much to do and I'm wasting the last few days of school being ill. I'm going to start on the million (ok 10) raincoats I have to make today. Not looking forward to cutting the fabric. Thats honestly the part I dread right now. I'll have to lay it out on the floor and do it that way the roll is so huge.

Have you gone to the doctor or maybe you could visit an urgent care? :confused3 You may need promethazine with codeine (cough syrup that is prescription only). It's supposed to help suppress coughing and help with clearing up chest congestion. If I have an awful cold and cough like crazy that is usually what is prescribed to me....along with antibiotics.

I hope you feel better but you may want to visit the doctor if you do not feel better

 Ugh, that's the pits.
On the advice of a much experienced (older) pediatrician, we've been using Delsym.

http://www.delsym.com/images/about_prodshot1.jpg

It's the highest amount of Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) allowed in an over the counter med. When we first heard about it ,a few years ago, it was incredibly hard to find. The ped said to look either on the very top shelf or the very bottom shelf.
Lately they have been pushing advertising, easier to find!

The regular bottle (they have a child version now) works just fine for kidlets too, just a smaller amount per dose. We buy one bottle a year and everyone can use it. :thumbsup2 Tastes okay too, not like the Robitussin that burns on the way down. YECK! When the boys were little, they would ask to lick the dosing cup to get every bit after downing a dose. :rotfl:

Doesn't make you drowsy, but it does knock off the cough for 12 cough free wonderful hours.. and it is an EXACT 12 hours.

You will know when it's been 12 hours.. feeling just fine and then cough cough cough hack hack cough.. hmm what time did I take it last? wow.. 12 hours. :lmao:

Curiousity about promethazine.. I like looking up meds, see the side effects, usage. etc.

Using it as a cough supressant is actually an off label use. Not a bad thing, docs do that all the time. The reason it works for a cough is due to the side effect of sedation from the drug. It's mixed with other meds .. like a cough suppressants .. to have a complete effect. Knocking you out, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

The drug is more known as an anti-emetic (for nausea, severe motion sickness, IV use during surgery) and as an anti-histamine (allergies with mucus production).

Long ago it was used as an anti-psychotic, you can tell everyone that your cough is making you crazy. And this will help you not be totally looney.

:hug:Wow, I think that nurse needs a refresher course in bedside manner.

But you know what. As someone who is missing a body part (breast), I can give one bit of advice. You have two choices you can laugh or you can cry about it. Life sometimes gives you a bad deal, so what are you going to do?:confused3 I've now had reconstruction, but the couple of years I went without a left breast, I called it "the Left Chest, Formerly Known as the Breast". Seriously, what do you call the place that's left after they remove it. I had no idea. So I figured if Prince could rename himself, I could rename my breast.:lmao:

I'm here for a moment. I'm waiting to pick up my dinner. Ugh, having a horrible day today. I went to walmart and some jerk stole my parking space. I
honked and he gave me a tough nuggets look and hand gesture like oh well too bad. I rolled down my window and called him the "a" word. I know I shouldn't have but I was so upset from work and he made my day worse. Ugh....i feel like crap

Watched the Star Trek movie-- it was awesome!!!!

If you have watched any of the orginal TV series or movies, you gotta watch it. Nicely written to seam it together with the original storylines, yet gave it a nice modern edginess for the current generation of soon to be Trekkies . I hope they can spin off more movies and another TV series. I didn't like the most recent Star Trek series on TV.. it just didn't have the right feel. Wrong actors? :confused3

When the time comes to end Heroes, this would make a nice replacement. ::yes::

I cant explain it, but they sort of suck in air while smiling all huge. These babies are AWESOME. It must be because I am older or something.. but I am having a MUCH easier time with these two then I did with my other kids. And they were only one at a time! :confused3 and oddly.. I think my relationship with Alex is getting better. not that we had a hard time, but we are so much closer with the babies here.
