Curious to know...just HOW GOOD are these category 2 seats with the DDP at the Spirit of Aloha dinner show? I'm a little concerned, by the reviews on www.allears.net, that perhaps we won't be able to enjoy the show, for lack of "seeing" it. Anyone been, used the DDP, have any pictures, or simply have an opinion? :rolleyes1

The seating area is covered and then the stage area is in the front out in the open. We paid OOP for Category 1 seating and had a table in the front row. In my opinion, the show would be difficult to enjoy looking over all the other tables from the 3rd row. I personally don't think it would be worth giving up 2 TS credits for those seats. Now some of the Category 2 seats aren't too bad but you don't know what you are getting until you get there if you are on the DDP.

Anybody else use 2 dining credits to eat here?

I'd be interested as well .....We're going in March...& like the op...wondered and read the other reviews. We were going to need to pay OOP for 2 meals so I decided to switch & pay OOP for the Luau so we could have tier 1.....it's not the most cost effective thing to do...so I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks

My seat was great-- the lower section tables were placed in lines at right angles to the curved stage, and I was to the right, almost at the end of the line (there was a family of 4 at table next to me, and then the aisle separating upper from lower. If I looked at my seat on a diagram, I would have expected it not to be a good seat.... but it was great! Enjoyed the food, the waiter was attentive, and the show very good.

I did wonder about the people sitting in the upper portion tho.

And it is true, you don't know your table until you arrive... Usually the earlier you make your reservation, the closer to the front you'd be. I made mine ressie about 2 wks before trip, I must have gotten in on a cancellation, because the place was full.

I really enjoyed this, and will be making a repeat visit. If I were paying out of pocket, and not making my reservation early as allowed, I would probably consider paying for category 1 seating.

(Is there a smilie with a fork and knife??)
