We will be on the Deluxe dining plan this next trip and are eating lunch at Wispering Canyon.... Can each member of the party order an appetizer, skillet (all you care to eat) And dessert??? Or if you order the skillet is that then considered like a buffet and you dont get to have an app and dessert??? just curious as to how that would work??? Thanks for any info from anyone who's done it!

We were on the ddp in August and the dessert was included with our meal. We had so much food that we took our desserts with us:) When we got back to the resort and saw how big the desserts were, we almost fainted..lucky for us, we could sleep late the next morning and then were able to swin the desserts off:) :)

Thanks! Has anyone else had an experience there on the Deluxe dining plan?

I'm not 100% sure if this applies to the DxDP but I think the salad that comes with the skillet is considered the appetizer. I know that was the case when we had the basic DDP when it still included appetizer.

They have different size skillets depending on how many people in your party order it. It's still all-you-can-eat, but they bring out less food at a time for fewer people. When we went last April DS & DD did not want the skillet and ordered regular meals. As long as you don't share the skillet with members of your party that didn't order it, it isn't a problem.

Do we each get an appetizer?? or do you have to order a meal and not get the skillet to get an appetizer and dessert with your meal?

In October, we got the skillet and also got dessert, but the only appetizer we got was the salad that comes with the skillet. Not sure if this is the norm though since our waitress was a dingbat.:rolleyes1

When we went on the Basic Dining plan (when the appy's were included) your appy was considered the sald that came with the skillet. Whispering canyon is considered a family style buffet. If you look at the DxDP brochure it sates that you can get an appetizer, entree, dessert & non -alcoholic beverage OR 1 full buffet. But don't worry, you will have PLENTY of food there!!
