Ok, so renting points from DVC member (who is currently unavaialble to ask).

staying 10 nights - March 11 - 21st. We are DW, DH, DG ( 3 adults) DD(9) and DD(12)

If we wanted to add MYW base with Dining plan what would that add to my price. The reason I ask is that it appears I will be paying for at least a 4 day base and at least 7 dinners so I am thinking it will be cheaper to add the plan??

Thoughts from my DVC experts?

You can not add the MYW plus dining plan, that is a package deal that includes a resort stay. Since you are renting points, you will have to buy the dining & tickets separately. The dining plan will cost you $1709.50 because you actually have 4 adults 1 child according to Disney. The 2009 dining plan is $39.99 per adult & $10.99 per child (3-9). Base park tickets for 10 days will cost you $1150.00 A 10-Day - Adult(10+) is $237
10-Day - Child(3-9) is $202.

And that's exactly what you'd be paying if you did a MYW + dining package with a Disney resort reservation - except you'd be paying a heck of a lot more for the villa.

Unless you're talking about a special deal like free dining or the 4/3 thing, packages generally aren't discounted. You pay full price for the resort, tickets and dining.

I understand if your got confused - the whole thing is confusing and when you are looking at ticket prices, etc., it doesn't seem that it will add up to so much money - but it does add up fast (as I know with four children - two of whic turned eleven this year).

So, slow down and think about not getting 10-day tickets and saving at least a couple of days for hanging out at the resort pool or shopping at Downtown Disney. Consider getting the quick-service plan and eating out at the table service restaurants for only a few special meals, or cook in your room.

We also share a lot of meals.

You will still have a lot of fun.

Or get at least one annual pass and then purchase the Tables in Wonderland card for 20% off of most table service. Then reduce the number of table service dining to the bare minimum and use counter service and cook a few meals in your villa.

Anybody can get an annual pass, but DVC members get a discount & Florida residents can get special passes. Only Pass holders or Florida residents can get a TIW card.
