10th December 2008.
I should point out that today should be our first ever trip to Kennedy Space Centre but I called last night to cancel as Lee was too ill to travel & have such a long day. The pick up time was 6am & we wouldn’t have got back until the evening. :sad2:
Anyway I woke around 7am this morning. Lee was still asleep but I knew he had had a rough night as I had woken several times due to him coughing during the night. I switched my bedside light on low and read for a while. After an hour or so lee woke up and wanted some headache tablets, we only had the flu pills which didn’t seem to be helping much. :headache: I told him to take some cough medicine whilst I got dressed and went to the shop in the Lobby. I quickly returned with some Sudafed tablets & a hot chocolate each. Lee took the tablets and promptly fell back to sleep. I switched on the tv with the volume as low as possible but there was nothing on other than news & lots of variations of Judge Judy kind of shows.
After a while I decided to go back to the shop in the Lobby as I had seen quite a few Christmas decorations earlier that I liked the look of. ;) I took my time & had a good look around the shop picking up a few more baubles for my tree, a dog toy for my fur babies & a WL resort pin. I had a little walk around outside it was a lovely sunny day, 83 degrees!! I got back to the room and Lee was still fast asleep. I went on the laptop for a while to read the UK newspapers, catch up on the DIS & email my sister.
I was beginning to feel fed up as I just wanted to get out and enjoy the holiday but I also felt very guilty as I had passed on whatever I had to Lee, so I knew how ill he was feeling. :guilty:
Anyway after numerous hours of Judge Tom, Dick & Harry! (Seriously there was nothing else to watch, it was driving me crazy!!!) Lee woke up about 2pm and felt a little hungry….good sign or so I thought? I went to Roaring Forks & got a beef sandwich for Lee & some fresh orange juice, and a cheese flatbread for me, I got it back to the room Lee ate one bite & fell back to sleep. :faint: My flatbread was quite nice.
Lee woke again at 4ish & was feeling very guilty that I had been cooped up in the room all day. I told him it was ok, he should just rest & hopefully feel better by tomorrow but he insisted that we go out for a while. We decided that as Magic Kingdom was the easiest to get to (8 min boat ride) & that tonight was pretty much the only night we would be able so see Spectromagic that we should go there.
We got showered & walked to the boat dock. We only took the Camcorder with us tonight as we will be going back a few times with the camera (it is quite a heavy/bulky bag & we couldn’t be bothered carrying it tonight) so I don’t have many photos as we recorded the parade & fireworks but we did take a couple of photos with it to see how they came out.
Here is the boat arriving at the dock:

We got to Magic Kingdom & were totally blown away by the decorations down Main St & the beautiful tree. The castle looked just as pretty as always……

As we got to the hub as the Castle Lighting Ceremony was just starting…..it was perfect timing & just stunning!!!!!! I have seen pictures of the Castle decorated for Christmas but nothing can prepare you to see it in real life. I had a lump in my throat followed by tears rolling down my cheeks. :cloud9:

It was not long before SpectroMagic would be starting so we got a spot in the hub and waited for the parade. Lee filmed the parade so I only have one photo.

It was a great parade as always. We stayed in our spot for Wishes as it only about 30 mins until it started. I love Wishes it is my favourite and always brings tears to my eyes (again), it is so magical. Afterwards we slowly walked out of the park, as expected the queue at the boat dock was huge :scared: but they were still only using the small boat to take people back which only takes approx 30 – 35 people. It took ages to get back to the WL – we had to wait for the 3rd boat which took about an hour!
Lee was feeling a little hungry so we stopped at roaring forks again and got a cheeseburger for me & a cheese flatbread for Lee, again he didn't eat it. :sad2: We went back to the room & dosed Lee up with lots of medicine and fell asleep about 11pm.
Sorry it wasn’t a very exciting read today guys. :flower3:
Day 11 coming soon = Epcot well almost….and a second attempt at the Florida Mall.
