Am I crazy to be thinking we could tent camp June 19 - July 3rd?

Can you stand 90 + degree weather and about 100% humidity during the day and about 85 at night with maybe 90% humidity and heavy afternoon showers possible daily???
Lots of folks camp then, but boy is it hot! And I'm a native Floridian.
Can you hookup a small window size AC? This would really make it tolerable. And remember, this is all IMHO opinion. Sure makes going to the pool A LOT of fun.:yay:

I couldn't do it, no way. I'm from Maine and I can't take that heat/humidity.

You couldn't pay me to be anywhere near Disney World between mid June and the end of August, let alone camping. The crowds are too much for me and although I'm very cold natured and need to be at around 80 degrees to be comfortable (Yes, I have to have a space heater next to me even in the summer since the family INSISTS on the A/C being at 74)....the normal highs during that time are enough for me to stay by A/C.
I guess it depends on what you/your family can/can not handle. Good Luck!

I know some people love thier tent but I can't see how you could enjoy your stay at the fort when you walk and sweat all day long then have to sleep in that heat.
Like someone else said the heat doesn't bother me as long as I have my AC to come back to.

If you go a few weeks later all the Christmas festivities in the parks will be going and people will have their camp sites decorated. Just a thought!

November is a great time to tent camp at the Fort. That fall period of October to December is great weather wise and roughly matches the mid-Feb to late April period but doesn't have the crowds.
Good luck!

We do it every year and love it. I've tent camped several years in October as well for the MNSSHP but I like the summer better.

I was going to add my .02 but FLFortCampster has said it best. I guess I was smart to take my dh tent camping in Orlando in July. We wound up with a 5th wheel after that experience.

The problem is that it dosent get cool, even at night. Its Hot and sticky. ITs very uncomfortable to sleep in. It is really hard to imagine how miserably hot it is, but I promise you it is. You can thank us all later.
If you MUST go tent camping in June, I'd suggest running a portable AC unit/fan to your tent and setting it up at the zipper door, with an extension cord. We did this with a portable heater in in the winter time.
Stay cool!
