We got an e-mail for the 40% code. What is going on during the first two weeks of November that it's not included for this promotion? The first week is the only good time for us because my sons school is out that Thursday and Friday.

TIA for any reply.

Veterens Day (Nov. 11) is the only holiday during that time, but I can't imagine that holiday is as popular as others since it is in the middle of the week this year.

That is when they have Jersey Week... at least last year. We went this past Nov the first week, and though the 40% flyer we received didn't have the dates, we secured a package discount deal for those dates on a GP Disney offer early in September, or maybe it was August, but it did come up.

Hope this helps...

Yep -- first week of Nov. is Jersey Week. No need whatsoever to offer a discount to get visitors that week!

We choose the end of Nov dates. I'm not sure about that anymore because it seems everyone is going at the same times. Our first hotel choice is all sold out too. Ugh.

I put Jersey Week into search and nothing came up. So I have to ask, what is Jersey Week?

TIA

We learned what "Jersey Week" was when we came to DW this past Nov. It seems that schools in NJ close for a certain # of days so teachers can attend conferences or professional activities, etc. It is a good time to go to DW it seems... honestly, though, I didn't feel it was overly crowded -- just in defense of anyone from NJ :) I didn't know what to expect and wouldn't have known this week was anything special, until we started looking for available rooms. There were "package" deals available for those dates last year, so I'd just wait it out.

Can you tell me more about the package deals from last year. I'm trying to book 10/29 - 11/07 2009. Only 3 days fall into the 40% category. I'm trying to figure out if a package deal woul dbe more economical. The only decent rate I got was for a value resort and that wasn't that great.

Hi, I only remember that we originally priced a moderate, with base tickets it was 1400 or 1600 or something like that at POFQ... the choices were few when we decided to book a trip (September) so I think the offer must have been out for a few days or weeks before we made the decision. We ended up going to SSR in a studio by renting points from a DVC owner and added two days on our own (also at SSR), w/dining and tickets. I remember it being reasonable since it included tickets. We don't have APs. The Free Dining with the visa came out right after. But the dates were not included.
Sorry I can't remember exactly. If I can find my old paperwork I'll let you know!

Jersey Week refers to the time when NJ schools are closed the first thursday and friday in November. They close for what is known as the NJEA Teachers Convention. Its a convention held in Atlantic City, NJ for teachers. Lots of families from NJ normally schedule their trips to WDW that time since kids have off for 2 of the 5 school days that week. Then their kids don't miss so much school.

Did you receive an email with a pincode? Nov 15-21st are included, which is what we changed our dates to. Hopefully it's less crowded than the popular Nov 29-Dec 5th that most people are choosing it seems.
