This is Thread #17 of the BOB threads.

If you're new to our group, you're not alone. Several of us have sailed together before (on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise - a.k.a. Konked Kruisers) and several more are new. To indicate the ones new to the group, we have put an * infront of their DIS name.

The following is the same as the other first posts. For those of you new to our DIS Meet thread - WELCOME. There is plenty of good info in this post.

As usual, I'll be back here to update this post periodically. I will try to keep important information up here for all to reference as well as for all our new friends who come to cruise with us. If something of importance comes up, PM me and I will add the link.

We have dubbed this cruise "The Bash on the Boat" because so many people are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries on this cruise. You will also see "KK2" in the title. As you will read, many of us just sailed together on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise. So, with many of us returning here, we are dubbing this KK2. For those of you who didn't sail with us, please don't feel that you are not part of the group. We are a very open and welcoming/friendly bunch. We had such a great cruise last time, but feel it will be even better this time. Come along and enjoy the fun. We will get off-topic many times over the next 2 years, but it is a great way to get to know everyone.

Incase anyone is wondering what the FO game we play here on the B.O.B. cruise meets thread, Jen gave a good explanation of the game:

FO is a game (for lack of a better description) that was started on the Konked Kruiser thread that some of us belonged to for the October 07 cruise. Don't ask me who started it or how, I joined that threead late.

Anyway, the game in a nutshell....if you post, and your post is the beginning of a page, then you try to get the second post on the page also. It means you have started a "Fresh One" or "First One" (I forget what the actual term was).

Now, this isn't always as easy as it seems - if there are multiple posters on at the same time, and someone else gets the second post, you don't get to "claim the FO". The 40 second rule between postings comes into play.

So, last night went pretty well...she stayed awake extra long but after reviewing the video (yes, I put the camcorder in her room last night when we said goodnight  ) I found out that she stayed up playing with all her stuffed animals :lmao: Normally she only sleeps with her bear but since I was taking away her soosie (yes, a soosie is a pacifier) and her bed was soooo huge compared to her, I let her bring as many stuffies as she wanted. :rolleyes1

And she only got out of bed once, to get her frog that fell on the floor

And....

Great pictures! DD is a huge Yankee's fan. She and my dad make the yearly pilgramige to Yankee Stadium. :worship: They have been doing this for years. She is our sports nut. I made the mistake of taking a book with me a few years ago to the red sox yankee game. :scared1: I am not a big baseball fan. You would have thought I had committed a sin. She acted like she did not know me which was not the first time nor will it be the last time she has pretended not to know me. Last year we were coming out of the game and she literally ran into Mariano RIvera. He was very nice about it and signed her shirt. I had no idea who he was because he was in regular clothes.

Not sure if we will be making the trip this year. She is in college and working at UPS. I have to say the atmosphere at the games is fun. I never knew that so much went on in between innings. I love watching the people. We were at the game a few years ago when the kid was drunk and jumped from the top tier the the net. That was exciting. I loved watching the reaction of the players when the police was trying to get him to climb up the net to them. Dh and DS are Cubs fans. They have never asked me to go along to a game. :confused3

:confused3

I remember that game! They usually don't show fans on TV when they do stupid things, but they thought that guy fell accidentally so they showed it. It wasn't until later that his friends ratted him out!

You just need to look busy not actually do any work. :lmao: I survived another round of lay offs yesterday so the office is quiet. I feel so bad for the people that were layed off. Most had a feeling they would be in this round but others had no clue. Tommy was glad since I have to work to support his disney pin habit and drink funds for the cruise. :lmao:

I'm goofing off a bit today because I just finished a bunch of deliverables. We had our beginning of the year rah-rah meeting yesterday and, while the news wasn't all bad (we are actually in OK shape), our CEO did say there would be some layoffs. They gave us cupcakes yesterday to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the company and the joke was that 1 out of 10 cupcakes was poisoned, so that would take care of the layoffs! :lmao:

I'm sorry about the layoffs at your company Leisha - I know how tough it is to be around when that happens.

It's a double bed (or full size). It's actually a convertible crib that Rob's parents bought us when Kira was born. Rob set it up as a crib and then we realized that the side didn't go down. :guilty: I have a bad back and I really needed a crib where the side went down. So, because we knew it converted to a double bed, we got the extension kit and held onto it, knowing that she could use it as a big bed and we went out and bought a crib :thumbsup2 So, while it's a little big, it should last her many many years :goodvibes

Hey - you were just saying the other day how sweet she was and how she gave you a pin for giving them your Palo reservation. You missed that part, at the first Meet, (something about a pool and a frozen drink) where she was glaring at me because she wasn't included in the Palo res!

Just returning (again) the gold chain I bought myself. I bought it on 12/20 and that one broke, Hazel took it back for me yesterday and the store exchanged it for a new one. The second chain broke this afternoon, so I am taking it back and getting my $$ back. The links in the chain were extremely thin. I think the chain got caught around a button on my workshirt, when I went to take my work coat off I heard a pop then saw the chain fall on the floor.....:headache:

I might also be shoveling some white stuff tomorrow thanks to our friends from the upper midwest........:headache:

Not sure how much longer I will be around this evening, really starting to poop out here. I was so tired I called and had my hair appt changed from 5pm to 6:30pm just so I could relax a bit after dinner. I'm glad I did too, I walked in the shop at 6:25 and the place was empty, I was back out the door and home by 6:45!!! I think from now on I'm going to make my hair appts for 6:30.

Couldn't sleep last night. Got to bed late. Shouldn't have had soda at dinner and the ice cream at 10pm. I think that screwed things up. Then Amelia was coughing a lot and ended up in our bed (coughing, tossing and turning) at around 3am. Made it very difficult to get back to sleep.

Well, DD's best friend will be staying at FW when we are at MNSSHP. I wanted to get a price for either the WL or CR. With AAA, I got quoted $293 & $329 respectively. I think since we are literally only sleeping at the hotel, we will just stick to the values. My dad talked me out of wanting to stay at a deluxe. Since they are travelling with us, I wanted to get his thoughts as well.

I've been thinking about doing this. Comcast just raised my bill $10 a month. I have Verizon for phone and DSL and since they are not offering FioS in my area yet, they will bundle DirecTV instead.

Yes! We had so much fun watching them together. I had no idea Frank was so hyper when he was little - at one point he's riding his tricycle in a circle at about 100 miles an hour! The Christmas movies are the best though. My parents used to wait until we went to bed to put up the tree! So, when we got up in the morning, not only did we have presents, but that was the first time we saw the tree!

I work for a printing broker. We don't actually print anything by us, we out-source everything, but yes, that industry has almost been replaced by the internet and photoshop types of software.

I had 86 of my own customers who usually order their tax forms from me. So far only 20 have called me for last year's forms. The rest have wised up and printed them off the interent. I've lost a lot of commission from those folks.
