OK! Thanks to my fellow May 9th DISer’s, kgle and BridetobeDisney, I have been encouraged to create my own PTR! I’ve been a DIS member for a couple of years, but I’ve been a Disney fan since my first trip in 1977 at age 3! My parents have always loved Walt Disney and all that he stands for so the Disney experience was instilled in me at an early age.

Here is the cast starring in my PTR:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/796098281112_0_ALB.jpg May 2008! (My hair looks terrible in this pic)

Me (Wendy), age 34, mom, wife and Disney planner. I am an elementary teacher by trade. I taught 2nd & 3rd grade until my DD was born July 1, 2006. I have been a SAHM ever since! I love just chillin’ with my family, playing Wii and Xbox 360, reading and hanging out on the DIS boards! As I said, my 1st Disney trip was in 1977. I then visited again with my Mom, Dad & little sis in 1979, 80, 84, 88 (Disney Land & Sea cruise), 92, 96 & 97. In 12/98, DH and I started dating and realizing that he was a Disney fan too, we planned our first trip in 02/99. We then proceeded to visit in 2000, 01, 03, 04, 05, 07 (DD’s 1st trip) and 08. In May, 2002, we were married and went to Tahiti for 18 days (Paradise!) On our way back to Michigan, we stayed in LA for a few days and went to Disney Land. It was nice, but no WDW!

DH (Mike), age 34, dad, husband and the one who brings home the bacon! DH is an Operations Management Consultant. Basically, he is hired by companies to help them get their act together! His main industry is automotive and being here in S.E. Michigan, he has a lot of work to do! His hobbies include his 250 gallon saltwater fish tank, playing Xbox 360 and being wrapped around DD’s finger! He loves Disney as much as I do, but leaves the planning to me…except when it comes to the food. He always has a say as to which restaurants we’ll be making ADR’s at! He is a foodie and great cook. His Thanksgiving turkey could put Martha Stewart to shame!!

DD (Emily), age 2, daughter, cutie and all around great little girl! She loves all things Disney (gee, I wonder why!) Her current favorites are Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and all things Cars! She plays soccer and goes to gymnastics and pre-school once a week. She loves to read books and paint! She has been to Disney twice. Her 1st trip was at 10 months, 2nd trip was at 22 months and we’re looking forward to taking her again in May, 2 months shy of 3.

Since our wedding, we have been traveling to WDW for our anniversary which is May 10th. This year, we are heading down on May 7th and took full advantage of the 4/3 deal! We are staying at the Polynesian this time and we’re very excited. DH stayed there in 1988 after his Disney Land & Sea cruise, but I have never stayed there before. I’ve stayed at the GF, CR, CBR, POFQ, Pop & all of the All-Stars. I have also stayed off-site, but won’t do that again!

We knew for sure that we were going to do the Dining plan, but once we started looking at the menus, we decided to go Deluxe. Many of the restaurants we want to try are signature, 2TS credits, so the DxDP makes more sense. More dining info to come soon!

Anyway, it’s late and I’d better hit the hay, so I will fill in more details and pics tomorrow! Good Night!

Thanks for reading and :welcome: to my PTR!
Well, since Emily is sitting here watching Beauty and the Beast, wearing her Pooh & Tigger sweatshirt and Sleeping Beauty dress, I think it’s time to add some more photos!

Here is some pics of Emily on her 1st trip, May 2007!
Her first Mickey ears! (She wears these around the house all the time!)

I couldn't have placed that curl between her eyes if I'd tried!

It's a Small World! She loves this ride!

Before we left the Pop, I wrote this on the drive by the entrance! They have sidewalk chalk for kiddies to use while waiting!

Let’s talk food! Mike and I, as you can see in our picture, love to eat! We count the many dining options Disney offers as a part of the whole Disney vacation experience so this time we have decided on the DxDP. It will probably be more food that we can handle, but its vacation! Plus, with the 2 snack credits per day, we shouldn’t have to spend too much OOP for Emily’s food. She eats like a bird and really only likes fruits and vegetables. However, she has started to try new things lately. She is hooked on chips and salsa!

Here are the restaurants we are going to try this time

Breakfasts:
Chef Mickey’s
Akerhaus Princess Storybook Breakfast
Kona
Ohana

Lunches:
Sci-Fi Theater
Plaza Restaurant
Rose & Crown or Nine Dragons (haven’t decided for this day yet)
Earl of Sandwich
Leaning Palms
Casey's Corner

Dinner:
Spirit of Aloha
California Grill
Flying Fish Café
Tutto Italia
Jiko
Whispering Canyon Café
Le Cellier

Any thoughts on our tentative food choices?

Last May was one of our best WDW vacations we’ve taken so far. Emily was at a great age to appreciate all of the fun stuff we were doing, in fact, she would cry when we returned to the room. It was also our first stay at the BC. We rented points from a wonderful DVC owner and stayed in a studio villa. Stormalong Bay was AWESOME! We had some groceries delivered from Garden Grocer and that worked out great. We used the dining plan and ate some yummy food, our favorite was California Grill. However, I can honestly say, we have never had a bad meal at Disney.

Here are some pics from that vacay…

I'm kind of at a standstill right now as far as planning. Hopefully, they'll post the May hours soon so I can get our days finalized. Less than a month before I can make ADR’s !! Woot! Woot! I do have Chef Mickey’s booked, that’s 1 down, 13 to go!

We stayed at the CR when I was 3 so it's been a while...to say the least. I would love to stay there again. I love the style of the rooms and how modern it was for it's time. I was going to book there instead of the Poly because the MK view package is just $200 more than our pkg at the Poly, but then decided I'd wait and rent DVC points next trip at Bay Tower. We'll see!

Oh I know, its definitely the stylish decor that has got me. I am not a fan of the decor at a lot of the resorts (from the pictures I have seen) because it just looks cheesy and clashy for some reason. Even the deluxes! CR is one of those that is super nice to me.

I just posted on Brandi's PTR but wanted to ask you here too just in case. Would you mind if Rylan and I sent a Disney "present" to Emily (I want to send one to Tyson too). I just think its too cool that we are all going at the same time and our kids are around the same age. I have a really neat idea in mind and would love to send her something I can put together if thats ok!

Awesome! Yeah definitely PM me. I was thinking of something with a Disney Princess for her, does she have a favorite (I will feel like an idiot if you already stated that in your PTR LOL)? Or even if it isn't a princess! Yay :) Rylan will love that too. He loves Mickey, Handy Manny, and Pooh Bear.

Where have I been? I didn't realize you had a PTR! Awesome Awesome start! I completely agree with all your food choices. Sounds yummy! If we could afford it, DH and I would so do the Deluxe DP. Like you said then we could eat at 2TS restaurants.

I love the pictures! Your family is so cute! Emily has to be the cutest little girl I've ever seen! I love the pigtails when she was waiting for you at TOT. Love the little curl when she was in the pool. T

The picture with your dad is precious. I actually have pictures of me with my grandpa when I was 3 at Disney World. Those pictures mean the world to me because they are the last ones we took together. He died the night we got home from Disney at about 2 am. He actually called my parents house to ask to talk to me after we got home (we only lived 10 mins away from them) to tell me he would take me to feed the ducks the next day and I was asleep. Mom asked if he wanted her to wake me up but he said no. He passed away later that night. Man that makes me tear up a bit. My point is those family pics are priceless.

Sorry I didnt mean to bring down the mood of your PTR.

On a happy note, we only have about 17 weeks before we all go to Disney!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks! I think Emily is the cutest little girl too, but I might be a little biased!

It's good that you have those pics of your Grandpa and that you were able to spend that special time with him. I got preggers with Emily 2 months after my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 BC. She was always worried that Emily wouldn't remember who she was after she was gone so I made sure to take lots of photos. I think it helps Emily remember since she passed in Aug.

Anyway, on a happier note, I scored these today for Emily at Von Maur for $4.99!

Next PTR installment...The Great Airfare/Airline Debacle of 2008/2009!
(you're intrigued, aren't you!?!?)

wlwilliams9

OK, so back in November we booked our wonderful Disney vacation and the search for the cheapest airfare began. I signed up for the SW Ding, Spirit $9 fare club and DH is already a NWA Worldperks member so I checked prices every day, multiple times….obsess much!?! Finally, mid-December, I booked a great $9 fare on Spirit from DTW to MCO & back, departing in the morning and returning in the evening. Our total for the 3 of us, with airfare and baggage fees, was $465. Sounds too good to be true? Well it was! About a week later, I was checking on my reservation and noticed that the time had changed on our outbound flight from the morning to the late afternoon. WHAT? That’s a whole day of Disney wasted and I wasn’t having that, so I called Spirit and cancelled the flight. They actually gave me my money back! I was totally expecting a credit. UGH, back to the drawing board!

Over the holidays, fares were ridiculously high, but I’d check several times a day anyway! On 1/6, I was on Spiritair.com and they were offering $35 off for 35 hours and I found a pretty good price of $558 for the 3 of us so I booked again. When I went to my profile to check my flight, I noticed that I had booked 5/6, not 5/9, OMG! I really screwed up! The flights on 5/9 we’re actually $150 more, Oh man! Again, I get on the phone and call, like 5 minutes after I made the screw up! This time, I was only offered a credit or they could change my flight to the more expensive one. Credit please! Now, I’m P.O’ed because I made such a boo boo and was now obligated to fly Spirit. Back to watching the fares…again.

Finally, we come to today. I log on to Spirit Air around 1pm because that’s usually when their promos begin and they are offering $9 fares and $35 off for 35 hours again. I check the flights I want and WOW!!! $427.50 for the 3 of us, airfare and baggage fees. Score!! That still leaves $130.50 left in credit so I call my SIL, who is going to WDW with us and ask her if she’d like me to book their (SIL, BIL, DNiece) flights with my $9 fare club too and she said, “YES”! I paid for the total and she is paying me back for their flight which means I get my money back for the credits I wasn’t going to use. Did that make sense? Oh, who cares, I’m so excited!

I only hope Spirit doesn’t change their times on me again!!

Way to go...We paid $800 for the 4 of us. (technically 3 of us) We only have 1 airport to chose and 2 airlines that do nonstop so for us it was worth it.

Head to DTD for some shopping and Earl of Sandwich (Drool!)

Hi! What a great PTR so far. Your DD is too cute for words. :cutie:

You've got some great plans and great ADR's. I am anxiously waiting for the May Park Hours too. I think we will be lucky if they are posted in January. I have a feeling they won't be posted until next month. :headache: It's really hard to plan our your days and your adr's when you don't have the park hours. I'm worried about the parks closing early too. We like taking a midday break and then going back to stay out late. Oh well. It will still be Disney. :goodvibes

Can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

The California Grill is def the best meal out we had last time. Watching Wishes from the rooftop terrace is really great. The music is piped in so make sure you get your timings right so you catch it. Your server will tell you when it is starting and they will hold your next course so it doesn't get cold! Not cold up there but a bit breezy so best take a little jacket for the little one just in case!

Thanks for coming over to my PTR! I was inspired by one of your posts and had to check out some of those Old Navy T's. I will definitly be ordering a couple of those shirts on sale!

I haven't picked seats yet. I'm watching the flight to see if I really need to or not. You can check to see what seats are available on the website. So far, there are only 3 seats that have been reserved on the way down and 7 on the way back. If it looks like it's starting to get crowded, I'll purchase then. Charging for seats is RIDICULOUS!

That was great timing - glad you got them sorted. I am very jealous of your airfares. (Ours cost us the equivalent of about $3000 - and that was a good price!)

We LOVE CG! We ate there last year for the first time and it is now a must do! I think I will plan our dinner during Wishes. Last year, we ate there before the Pirate & Princess Party. Yum! I can't wait.

Our flight was half - 1/3 full when we booked so we opted for the seats. I wrote a letter of complaint to Spirit about charging for the seats and received an email that had a virus attached to it (thankfully I caught it quickly and no damage done) that basically stated they offer the choice of seating as an option and the luggage charge as an option (the email stated, "you can bring a carry on for no charge) to ensure they can offer low fares due to the high cost of fuel and that you don't have to choose a seat - my argument was that they are discriminating against families with young children who need to have seats together. In the end our "cheaper airfare" through them was $2 more than Continental.

I just had to share...

My DD is sitting at the table in the kitchen playing with her Play-Doh, being a good girl....Cute huh? :cutie: Well, she is also singing over and over, "Applebottom jeans, boots with the spurs, shorty get low, low, low, low, low"! Where does she get this stuff? :confused3

Mike's brother was in a serious car accident this afternoon. DH is at the hospital now. I guess my BIL fell asleep at the wheel. he's broken his neck and broke the back of the other driver.

One one hand, I'm upset because you never want to see someone hurt and I know Mike is very upset, on the other hand, my BIL has a serious drug problem and has majorly screwed up his life. We all knew it was a matter of time before he hurt himself or others. Maybe this is the wake up call he needs to get himself clean. The family has tried everything. We've shut him out, done an intervention, his wife left and he lost all custody of my DNiece & DNephew. He can only see them supervised and after taking a drug test. He lost his $250,000/year job this past summer and has been homeless since. He was driving one of his friends trucks at the time of the accident. He was found with a crack pipe on him, but no drugs. They did blood work, but I haven't heard if he was high.

Is it wrong that I'm more mad at BIL than upset?

Wendy, I totally understand where you are coming from. At some point you just stop feeling sorry or bad for someone when you have offered all the help you can give. I know that a part of you is upset about him being hurt, but I get the being mad part. When my sister was in the hospital that day for hypothermia I couldn't help but get SO mad at her. Sometimes I just feel apathetic, like when my mom told me she was arrested a week ago. Its ok :)

Thanks Kara! Mike's home now and very upset. I guess the other driver was all right afterall. He was checked out and released from the hospital, thank God! My BIL did break two verts in his neck and back and shattered his foot. He's already started to withdrawl. Mostly he's feeling sorry for himself saying they should have left him to die, which breaks my MIL and Mike's heart to hear. He was high at the time. The cops were at the hospital ready to arrest him, but of course, he was admitted and surgery is pending. Thanks for the hugs!!

I'm partial to the first pattern too! DD's luggage is from Pottery Barn Kids. She likes to put on the backpack and pull the suitcase around the house saying, "Wet's go to Nisney Woold"! (that's "Let's go to Disney World" for those of you without little ones!)

I think I've narrowed it down to the first pattered luggage, now I can't decide if I want the upright suitcase
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/TKA6_5KP.jpg

or the large duffle
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/TOC7_5KP_LRG.jpg

They both have about the same amount of cubic inches.
I have a large duffle that I have been using for the past 10 years or so and I do like that you can shove a ton of stuff in there, but do I want to change it up and get an upright? Help!

Hey! I'm so sorry about your BIL. Hopefully he will be ok and this will be his wake up call. Ya'll are all in my prayers.

About the luggage, I'm so glad you picked the polka dot pattern!! That's the one I loved. If you've always loved the duffle you have then you might want to go with it. Although, I've always used the suitcase type and I love it. I can definitely fit a ton of stuff in it. I like that it is more stiff and structured compared to the duffle. Either one you choose will work great.

I love Emily's luggage. That is so cute! Tyson doesn't have luggage yet. I don't know if I'm going to wait one more year before I get him a full set. I will get him a small rolling one to bring his favorite toys and stuff for the car. Usually I can fit DH and my stuff in one large suitcase and then Tyson's in another large suitcase. Then I have a smaller suitcase for the other necessities like shampoo, curling irons, etc. But of course we drive so I jam pack the whole car full of stuff including a large pack of Dasani waters, diet coke, snacks, a big box of diapers, wipes, etc.

Tyson needs a nap. He is in a foul mood! Ughhhh!

The baggalini's are cute, but I don't carry a bag in the parks. We have a stroller organizer and I just keep everthing in there. It folds up with the stroller too, so it's super convenient. I only take the essentials to the park like a few diapers, pack of wipes, sunscreen & camera. I keep my drivers license and KTTW card in my pocket. That's just how I am though. I've never liked carrying a purse either. The only reason I carry one now is because I use it as a diaper bag.

I was checking out the different tours they have at WDW and came across this one:

Disney's Family Magic Tour

Disney's Family Magic Tour invites Guests to join their family and friends on a 2.5-hour guided interactive quest to save Magic Kingdom Theme Park (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/) from the dastardly plans of a Disney Villain.

Your tour guide needs your help—and your knowledge of Disney trivia—as your tour group searches high and low for clues in this adventure through Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Unlike most tours, your party will play an active role in the experience as you put on your detective hat, follow tricky clues, solve diabolical puzzles and engage in a lively scavenger hunt.
If you manage to foil the plans of the forces of mayhem and save Magic Kingdom Theme Park, you will be treated to a very special surprise.
Adults and children of all ages will enjoy Disney's Family Magic Tour. Be sure to bring your camera to capture some unique memories.

I can't wait until Emily is a little older and we can do this one!

I love the stroller organizer, but we are using our double stroller? Hmm! It doesn't have cup holders and I need to check to see if it has a basket under....The dress is super cute. I love shopping for my DD. I must say there are a lot more cute boy clothes now, too. I hate purses, too. I have a diaper bag we keep in the vehicle. I normally just take my wallet if I am alone. Well hopefully 2 weeks and we may get some May hours! We will see how many changes we make when the EMH come out. :badpc:

For those of you who read my previous posts about my BIL, here is an update.

He did break 2 verts, one in his neck and one in his back. He also broke his foot in a couple of places, but doesn't require any surgery, which is amazing. He was able to sit up with the help of his bed today to eat. He'll be in the hospital for quite a while and it should take over a year to heal. They are not releasing him until he starts physical therapy and goes through detox. He has also started seeing an addiction specialist. All good news, so far. The bad news is he's in some serious trouble. He was high as a kite when the accident happened. Once he is discharged, he will be arrested and we'll have to wait and see. He was living with one of his drug friends so this weekend Mike and 2 of his BIL's went over and moved all of his stuff from there to my MIL's. I hate that my MIL has to take care of him, but it is what's best for him. I guess all we can do is wait and see if he'll finally turn his life around. Keep your fingers crossed!

Looks like I have someone else to keep in my prayers. I really hope detox does him well and he has learned something from this situation. Its amazing he wasn't paralyzed...his nerves must like him a lot. Hopefully things get better soon!! Just so you know (and let DH know) there IS hope. I hate to get all mushy and sentimental...but one of my closest friends has been clean and sober for 2 years now (it was 2 years on the 3rd:)). She was REALLY bad on drugs and I mean hardcore drugs to the point that she disappeared for several months and her family didn't know where she was. She ended up missing out on her daughter's entire first year of life. Now, Sarah is the most bubbly outgoing amazing person I know. She has been an inspiration to me :) He CAN get better and hopefully he wants to for your family's sake as well as his. :grouphug:

He will definitely continue to be in my prayers, along with the whole family. Thank the Lord he wasn't paralyzed!! That's wonderful that he has so much support from both of you, his mother and the hospital staff. I always find comfort in knowing that God has a plan. He already knows what will happen and He doesn't give us more than we can handle.

Well, I'm off to see the Geek Squad tomorrow. My computer has crashed, yet again! The hard drive has been making some crackling noises and it refuses to boot. :badpc: The sad thing is, it's only a little over a year old. It was my Mom's laptop before she passed away. I know she just bought it before last Christmas. Stoopid Computer!

On the bright side, I did order my luggage today. I decided on the large rolling duffle and the wheeled backpack. They have both shipped already and should be here by the end of the week!:thumbsup2

Sorry your computer crashed. May I ask what kind it is? My brand new (2 month old) HP pavilion laptop is acting funny. The taskbar disappeared last night and I couldn't shut off my computer. I held down the power button and it wouldn't even shut down completely. It kept going to a stand by mode. It finally worked and rebooted this morning and the taskbar just showed up again. I work at the Gap (sometimes in BabyGap) and I just love looking at the the adorable little clothes. But then reality hits and I remember I am still in university. Doing my undergrad. And babies are a long way off.:rotfl:

I have to admit, I purchased baby clothes way before I had kids....or had even met my DH for that matter. I think I bought a shirt for $.99 and a hat for $.49! They were sooo cute and cheap, I couldn't resist. Emily did wear them both when she was a baby!

Since we are traveling to Disney for our 7th wedding anniversary, I thought it would be fitting to show you some of our wedding and honeymoon photos. We were married on Friday, May 10, 2002 in Plymouth, MI at an old seminary that had been turned into a golf course and banquet center.

(Sorry for the poor quality on the wedding pics, they're scanned)

And fun for us, because our waitress was from right near where we live in Canada. We liked being able to talk with the CMs about how they were finding life in the States, whether they missed it back home, etc. We had great service there.

OMG! OMG! OMG! BIG NEWS!!!....

Oh, you want me to tell you....hummmmm:lmao:

OK, OK!! Tonight, as we we're having a wonderful dinner of chicken & noodles, I was talking about something Disney, as usual, and my DH says, "Maybe we should go for two weeks this time." WHAAAAAAAA? I burstingly reply, "Are you serious?" He smiles and continues, "Well, maybe not 2 weeks, but what about adding a few days like Wednesday to Saturday." Of course I replied, "I'm on it!"

I called CRO to see if I had a PIN code, but I didn't :sad1: Infact, the CM told me there was a box checked that said "no mail/no calls"! Uh, can you uncheck that for me PLEASE! He did! Anyway, I booked 5/6-5/9 at ASMu room only, the CM linked the reservation with my 4/3 ressie and changed my tickets to 10 days. So for $386 more, we get an extra 3 days. Next, I needed to make sure I could change our flights. I called Spirit Air and guess what? I changed our flights, they didn't charge me a fee and now I have a credit of $120 because the flight was cheaper! SWEET!

I am beyond excited!!! WOO HOO!! :cool1:

Now, where are we going to eat on those extra days....sounds like I have some more planning to do. Oh, darling spreadsheet, where are you!

I know you are way more up on WDW then me this being our 1st trip and all. Can we do a anything special for a birthday. Austin will turn 1 the day we arrive. I have seen baskets, but I don't know where they are from and heard about birthday cakes. Poor thing is going to spend 4 hours in a car and then 3.5 hours on a flight. Some birthday!!!

A couple trips ago, we were actually at WDW and we were near the end of the time and it was hitting us hard. We were swimming and dad said he was going to the bathroom and he didn't come back for 45 minutes-an hour and we were worried. Finally, he came back with a huge smile on his face and said "Guess what, we're staying two more nights!" It was the best surprise ever!

I know Brandi (BridetobeDisney) answered some of your questions, but make sure Disney knows it's Austin's 1st B-day, especially when you make dining reservations and check in. The'll sometimes do a card and ears from Mickey. You can call Disney Florist and they will put together something special for you and have it ready in your room when you check in. DOn't forget the 1st visit and Happy Birthday buttons! You can pick them up at City Hall at the MK. (Sometimes the resorts have them too!)

Great minds thing alike!! Yesterday, I was thinking about Emily and pre-school. She goes every Wednesday and loves it, but because of our new plans, she was going to miss 2 weeks of school, which I really didn't want to happen so I jump on the WDW website to check out some more options. Meanwhile, Mike calls and says, "Let's leave Thursday instead of Wednesday, that way I can work Mon. Tues. Wed. and it doesn't seem like I'm taking as much time off." Wow! We have scary moments like that where we think the exact same things!

Anyway, Mike decided he didn't want to change resorts for just 2 days so now are plans are:

:cheer2: May 7th-May 16th at the Poly with DxDP and 9 day base tickets. :cheer2:

I was able to change our flights again, but they we're the same price as our original flight so I don't have a credit anymore. That's fine because that credit probably would have gone to waste. We are trying to get preggers again and I don't forsee another vacation in the next year!

WOO HOO! No changing resorts! I already called and added a CRT reservation for 5/14!!

Once I fininsh my new schedule, I'll let you know!

Thanks for reading and sharing in our excitement!

Oh, that reminds me, I need to place a GG order!

Here is a list of the thinks we had GG deliver to us last year, but keep in mind, we stayed in a sudio villa so we had a kitchenette:
Cheerios, juice boxes, milk, fishy crackers, paper plates, paper towels, plastic silverware, paper bowls and bananas. Oh, and twizzlers!
Hope that helps when placing your order!!

Somebody in the house likes to play with the Mickey's (hint: she's short and calls herself "Emmy") I find myself picking up Mickey heads all over the house and having to count them again to make sure they're all there. Maybe next time, I'll do an "add on" countdown calendar instead of a "take off" one!

OOH! String cheese and fruit snacks, I should add those to my list! GG will deliver to your resort even if you're not checked-in yet. AKL will just hold everything for you and put items like milk in fridge for you. It's a great service...so convenient!

I never wear sneakers - I only wear sandals and at WDW, it is no different. If you are used to wearing sandals then you should have no problems. I wore these Crocs, among others during my trip last year

It's our least favorite park and it's always 20 hotter in that park than anywhere else. I'd better get back to my spreadsheet and make some adjustments!

CM are making me MAD!!:furious: I've had no luck with ADR reservations today. I've called 4 times, the first two said I had to wait until 2/6 to call even though I explained that I already made reservations for the 7th-11th and was told to call back today for the 12th. (I guess I can't balme them, this is legitimate) The 3rd time I called, I told her I was checking in on the 2nd thinking maybe they would help me then and she said I'd have to wait until 2/11 to make ADR's for the 12th. :confused3 WHAAAAT? I asked her about the 90 days +10 and she was totally confused! Finally, I called and the CM asked for my resort reservation number (first time I've ever been asked for that) to make the ADR's, but I didn't have it handy so now I need to call again. WhatEVER!!

My TA has been checking everyday for an opening at Poly, but no such luck yet. Our tax return was better than expected...so I wanted to upgrade. Oh, well the AKL still looks great. Sorry about the ADR's. I tried to make a spreadsheet today but it didn't turn out. I am just going to have to print out a normal list.

I had some ADR frustrations today too! They asked for my confirmation as well... it was buried in my email inbox pages and pages back (I don't like to clean it out:blush: ). The CM asked for the # and I told her I didn't have it with me, it was in my inbox. She told me she could wait... so still on the phone, paying long distance, I hauled my laptop out, booted it up and then spent at least 5 minutes searching through my email for the Reservations one. Calling from Canada to Florida, that isn't so cheap!

The same CM was another one of the relentless "celebrators", trying to figure out SOMETHING that we could be celebrating.:rotfl: Eventually I told her it was my mom's 50th even though we are going in May and her birthday isn't until July. When we get there if they say anything about my mom being 50, she might kill me and say she has a good few months of her forties left.:rotfl:

Bummer about having to dig up your reservation #. Crazy CM's, sometimes I wonder if they watched the wrong training video!!:confused3

I've always had to supply my reservation number to make the ADR's when you are making 90+10 days, and each day thereafter. At the 90 day mark they don't need your Disney resort confirm, but once you make the other +10 they need it to verify that you are in fact a Disney Resort guest.

OMG!! So I call today to book my Magical Express which went smoothly, then the CM asked if she could help with dining reservations and here's how the conversation went:

Me: "I'd like to make reservations, but my 90 days isn't until Friday."
CM: "Because you are a Disney resort guest, you can book 100 days out."
Me: "Ooh really? OK, I'll book some dining reservations then."

So YIPPIE, I booked more ADR's!!!:woohoo:

Tuesday, May 12th:
B) Akerhaus, Princess Storybook Meal
D) Tutto Italia

Wednesday, May 13th:
L) Tusker House (getting the Finding Nemo priority seating)
D) Jiko

Yes, we're taking Emily to all of the Signature dining we are doing. She's pretty well behaved when we go out so I don't forsee a problem. I think it would be more trouble if we left her with a baby-sitter. Emily has never stayed with a baby-sitter except my Mom and she passed in Aug. so it's been awhile! I don't think I could leave her with a stranger, she would not be happy! I'd leave her with the resort kids club if she were old enough, but she's not, so she's coming with us!

I've only heard great things about the kid's clubs, but I understand your apprehension! When Emily is old enough, I'm sure we'll use the kids club a few times!!! Maybe post a thread on the family board and see what kind of responses you get about the AKL kids club. Hopefully, others with experience can ease your mind.

Well, it depends on the CM you talk to. Some are saying 90 days and some are booking at 100 days. I originally called WDW-DINE on Saturday after hearing that bertegirl was able to make ADR's (we're visiting the same time) and had a CM who said it was 100 days for resort guests so I booked 5/7-5/11. On Sunday I called WDW-DINE back 5 times to get ADR's for 5/12 and everyone of the CMs I talked to said, "NO, 90 days +10 days into the vacation". Then I called CRO on Monday to update my Magical Express info and that CM was of the 100 days thinking, so I booked 5/12 & 5/13. Finally I called WDW-DINE this morning and was told to call back on Friday (my 90 days). Then I called CRO to make a room request and was able to book through CRO for 5/15. And they all lived happily ever after!

congrats on your ADRs!!!!

Cool! It'll be fun to let the kiddies play together. As far as a day off, if you are taking breaks everyday and enjoying the pool and some down time, you probably won't need a whole day off. With the little ones, If you plan 2 to 2 1/2 days for MK, 2 days at Epcot, 1 day for DHS and 1 day for AK you should be good. That's how we have been touring WDW since Emily was born. Before her, DH and I would go all day with no breaks, but with the little ones, breaks are a must!

Oh please go and tell me all about it. I am already planning our cruise in 2011 for our 10 year ann. Only thing holding me back is the possibility of a pregnancy.

I will keep my fingers crossed for KGLE and that you get a great CM. :thumbsup2

Ok so please...being the newbie:guilty: What is the lime green Mickey and where do I get/make one? We will have a double stroller. Thats all I know for sure. And maybe Jenny will be dressed as Belle. She wants to go to CRT that way, but now sure how long she will stay dressed that way.

The Lime Green Mickey Head is a Disney paint chip found at Home Depot. It is "Alien Green". It is a lime green Mickey shape on beige cardstock. They are "free" Those are what most people use, some just make their own.

Exactly! Lime green is the official DIS color and many DISers wear lime green or have LGMH (Lime Green Mickey Head) as tags on their bags and/or strollers.

Would it be wrong to add a 4 night cruise onto the beginning of your vacation? We are seriously contimplating adding the 4 night Bahamian cruise which leaves on 5/3. We would get back to port the morning of the 7th which is when our stay at the Poly starts. I'm all for it, Mike is thinking about it! I'll keep you posted!!!!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Ahh I totally would if I could afford it!! Go for it!

If anyone is wondering, I called CRO to find out the dates of Fantasmic since they are still not posted on the WDW website. Fantasmic is showing on 5/10, 5/14 & 5/17 at 7:00pm. The CM did let me know that they may add 8:30pm shows on those nights if needed, but of course that's not guaranteed. Oh, and the Fantasmic dinner packages are sold out for 5/10 & 5/14, but they may open up more tables for those too. FRUSTRATING!!!

Well, while the thought of adding on the 4 day cruise was very tempting, we're going to wait until Emily is old enough to enjoy the kid's club and we can take a 7 night cruise and then a week at Disney. If we don't have another baby in the next year, then those are our plans for next year. It was a fantastic dream while it lasted!!!

On the otherhand, I bought this adorable swim suit for Emily:

She loves it so much she insisted on wearing it in the bathtub. Her exact words were, "I wear swimsuit in baf and swim like mermaid Ariel and kick my feet and go (hands moving like swimming)!" How could I say, "No"! She had fun swimming like Ariel, then Nemo in the tub!:cutie:

Awww such a cute swimsuit! And it's probably a good idea to wait until Emily's a little older. You'll be able to enjoy the cruise more.:goodvibes I've never been on one but I would just love to go.

And I'm glad you've decided to go with the food porn.:cool1: My family has been totally conditioned now and sometimes they even remind ME!:rotfl:

What an adorable bathing suit!! Super cute.

That's too bad about the cruise but I like that you have plans for it in the future! :goodvibes

Great swimsuit, so cute. And I think you are right about the cruise-having a 3 year old is easier. The nursery is fun but the Kids CLub is way better!!

Well Home Depot is hours away...I will try and just cut out a Mickey head on Lime Green cardstock and laminate it. So if you see a sad looking little Mickey Head on a stroller, you found me! :rotfl2:

Jenny had to get a 2 piece this year, too. She wanted to swim in the pool..aka our tub, as well.

Hi Bertegirl, If you would like I could mail you a few lime green mickey heads, Home depot is about 10 mins from my house, and I need a few more for myself too. I'd be glad to send you some.

Sorry the cruise didn't work out but I think it's better to wait until she can do the kids club. My cousin took her 1 year old and was upset she couldn't do much on the cruise. Very cute bathing suit!

Now that the hours have been posted and our ADRs have been made, I don't really have any planning to do. :sad1:

How about another game!!
What's your favorite Disney movie/television show quote? Tell us a qoute, but let us guess who said it and what show/movie it's from!

I'll go first! One of my favs is just below my user name. "Well fill my tub and call me Soapy"!

Who said it and what show/movie?

OK, 3 strikes and you're out!! Pete says it on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, "Goofy in Training" episode! Pete has the best lines!!

How about an easier one! "Yes, sir, we're next month's garage sale fodder for sure".

Who says it and what show/movie?

It is Toy Story, but it's Hamm that says it!

OK, I'm bored with my game already!!

It was a beautiful day here in Metro Detroit! We hit a record high of 59 degrees! I even had the doorwall open to let in some fresh air! You southerners are probably thinking I'm crazy, but it was like summer out today!

Earlier today, I was gathering some of the things I bought to send to Rylan and Tyson from Mickey Mouse when Emily came in and said, "Whatcha doin' Momma?" I told her I was sending some toys to her new friends, Rylan and Tyson. She left the room and came back with a couple of her Little People friends and said with her sweet little voice, "You can give dem deese friends, Momma. They're my famorites!" :lovestruc I told her that was sweet, but she could keep her favorites because, Momma got them their own toys! I just love her!
