I checked both my emails everyday and nothing:sad1: . I checked my mailbox everyday and nothing:sad1: ....
Today I called Disney and I had the 40% code! Whoo Hoo! :woohoo: I'm going to Disney World!:cloud9: I never get codes so I think if you haven't gotten one yet you should call and check.

Actually the cast member looked for me without me even asking. I was just about to ask him to look when he said "let me check your information and see if you have any deals on your account"
He was very nice. I know that isn't always the case so if you don't get someone helpful I would just call back and get someone else.....

That is kind of what I ran into this week. The CM said, we don't find deals that way any more! I know it's not true..

Last year when I called to make ressies, I asked about checking a code for me. The CM said there was none - I booked anyway.
The very next day I got the 40% postcard in the snail mail!
I rebooked ;)

So what's the key - to keep calling til you get a nice CM? I called yesterday and she said you either get a pin my smail mail or email and didn't offer to check under my name at all. Does it just depend on who you're talking to?
I'm always scared I'm going to call back and get the same CM and they'll know I just called! :rolleyes1

Oh boy, I'm sooooo glad I found your message! I'm currently "on hold" with WDW. This is my first time calling to check code status. Keep your fingers crossed for me. They are experiencing "heavier than normal" call volumes at this time...so who knows how long I can hold.
Here's hoping for a friendly helpful CM -- but if their call volumes are really heavy they probably don't want to waste time on that stuff. Can they just give me a PIN then so I can book online?? Id offer to do that instead of taking up more of their time.
Oh, now I'm nervous!!

Here's what I did and what I said -- so others of you can hopefully try it too...
I called the 407 939 6244 number.
When the CM answered I told her that recently a few friends of ours had received a mailing both in the mail and through email with a 40% off code. I was hoping she could check our address/names because we have a really good spam filter that tends to block even normal messages. She checked under my name and said nope. I then asked her if anything would show for DH in that search. She said it normally would, but she would check his name too. Nothing.
I hope this helps someone get a code since it wasn't my turn!

Hi everyone!
The number I called was 1-407-934-7639. I was on hold forever but I didn't mind because I love listening to the Disney music :goodvibes.
I told them that a friend ( we are all friends here right?) had gotten a post card in the mail with a discount code and I wanted to know if I could use it. He said no but then said he would look to see if I had the discount too. He looked and I did. He said they send them out randomly and other than make she they have your info correct there isn't anything you can do to give yourself a better chance of getting one.
I booked right away for POR but I am actually still debating between the CBR and POR.

How exactly do the codes work - is there a specific date range that you must stay?
We took our first trip in Sept, and my kids are dying to go back, but DH isn't convinced. If we had a 40% code, I might be able to convince him! :)

Well, I tried, I called for everyone that lives in the household and there was no code:( The CM was very helpful though...

I just called .... they checked my name and my dh's... nothing. Bummer! There wouldn't be a code for a child, would there?? I just saw the thread about checking your maiden name...but I don't know if I should call back again!!
Did all the codes come out on the same day or are people still getting them?

Hmm... I called twice this week and got the same answer as BabyRN- that since they updated the system, they can't check for PINS... guess I'll try again, although the holds lately have been forever- when I don't get the "all circuits are busy" .

Hearing this makes me wonder if they actually check for a code when I call. I'll keep trying with you! Seems silly if they link a PIN to your name they can't take the few minutes to check...especially if it will increase the business to the parks -- which is why they are sending out the codes to begin with.:confused3

I know someone who received an email 40% code...I'm hoping we get one because we weren't able to visit Disney at all last year because we had to have a tree removed from our front lawn that died and we needed to put a driveway in. With no codes or deals, we couldn't afford it. We refinanced our mortgage recently and were hoping to use the little bit of cash we got back for an April/May Disney trip, but, it's not looking good...air fare is ridiculous, so if we could get a 40% discount with Disney, that would balance out the high air fare and....we'd be goin' to Disney World!!! LOL!
Keeping my fingers crossed and going to get my cell phone....it's hard to dial with your fingers crossed!!

Well I called and got through fairly quickly - within minutes. Got an extremely sweet and nice CM (I think his name was Benjamin - we had a bad phone connection) who checked my name and low and behold, I had a 40% code on my name!! :banana: :dance3: Unfortunately, it's not available for the week we wanted to go, but he dug around and found us a couple other deals and we might end up taking one of them and going!! We're going to decide later tonight. He said the 40% code was good until December, but there are some blacked out dates.
So I must agree with the others when they say call and ask if you have a code!! Cuz they had all of my info correct and I check my email and snail mail every day and haven't gotten anything from Disney. I always check my spam folder every day, too, before deleting it and nothing was ever there from Disney, either.

We got 2 emails with the 40% code. One in our home email and one in my work email (and I don't remember ever giving them my work email).
We are passing on 40% and waiting for free dining anyway

I'm trying to call again, on hold right now. I haven't even gotten my January Disney "hello" yet this month! I wonder if something is going on with my email...

I think I am in an exclusive club of people who will never get this 40% of code. I have tried everything: signing up for a DVD, double-checking my preferences for e-mail, mail, etc. I have called two times and nothing! The CM I talked to said they will be releasing more codes this week so fingers crossed.... I am going to call again today. For those who haven't got one but continue to call please keep us posted...

Okay here's what I just did:
I called and got a very helpful CM, in fact the nicest one I think I've ever gotten. Anyway, I explained to her that my computer was hit with a virus a couple months ago and my husband put a very strong spam filter on it, and that I haven't even gotten my monthly "hello". That part is true. Anyway, I asked her to make sure she had my correct info. She had my contact info correct, but didn't have that we were there last April. She seemed surprised by that and said "let me just update this for you". So when she was done, I asked if she could check to see if I had any pins associated with my name seeing that I wasn't receiving any in so long, and that I used to get them in my monthly emails. That part is also true. I told her the last pin I remembered receiving was in November and was for free dining for the rest of the year. She verified that I actually really did have that pin offered. She also asked who "Baby" was listed on my info. I explained we were expecting our 4th baby in March and were going to come down in April, but my hours were cut back at work and that my husband said the only way we could go this year was if we went in the fall and if we had some sort of discount. So, she checked, and lo and behold I had a pin! I almost wonder if they can somehow generate one for you, because they last time I had someone check, about a week ago if that, I didn't have one. She said she couldn't tell me what the percentage off was and that is was room only, but she said you can add other things to it to make it a package. I immediately called my TA with the pin. She seems to think that I can't add dining to it, but she is checking. Here's hoping to it being 40% off!!! All I know right now is that it is good until 12/31/09!

My pin is for 20% off, which is better than nothing, but there's black out dates that fall when we were going to go!! Now I don't know what to do. If I go earlier, I could hit the free dining which is better, if they offer it. I didn't want to go too early though. I don't want to be there for Halloween because believe it or not, my kids don't want to miss their Halloween parties!! LOL!! I didn't want to go in November because we're going on a Disney cruise in Oct. 2010, and we drive down to Fl. from NY...that's too much driving!! Now I don't know what to do!!

We were hoping to go in Nov. I've received nothing in an email or postcard. No one I know who goes to Disney received anything, either.

Well when I booked my cruise for 2010, I asked them how they felt about being on the cruise for Halloween (the cruise actually starts on Halloween!!) My oldest child who is 10 is the one who actually said he didn't want to miss the Halloween parties at school!! My only way around it was the fact that Halloween is on a Sunday next year, so Friday will be their party and they won't miss school. I actually do want to go to MNSSHP, which is why I picked October to go. Now I don't know what to do!!! I can't talk to my husband about it because he gets annoyed :rotfl: , so I basically just have to do my own thing and he'll come along for the ride!
