I didn't want to post this until I was holding the tickets in my hands. After reading the posts on WDW tickets - potential bargain (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=182357) , I was very interested in getting these passes for an extended trip we had planned for this July. The 10 day World Pass is sort of like a Super Park Hopper that WDW markets to it's UK travelers. The World Pass gives 10 days admission to most everything WDW has to offer: theme parks, water parks, and Disney Quest. The World Pass is only valid 20 days from first use and must be used by October 31, 2002.

I ordered mine online from the Virgin Travelstore (http://www.virgintravelstore.com/KeithProwse/individualoffer.asp?ProductID=3&bhcp=1). Other DIS'ers have ordered from The Flight Shop (http://www.theflightshop.co.uk/theme_price.htm) , another UK travel agency, but I felt more comfortable using a "name brand" company. THere was some discussion whether Virgin would ship tickets to the US but I guess they do. The Flight Shop also charges an additional $80.00 for shipping to the States. As far as I can tell, Virgin doesn't.

I ordered the tickets on 4/20 and received an immediate e-mail confirmation. About a week later, I received another confirmation in the mail that the tickets would be sent out 10 days before my specified travel date. (I entered 5/25 as my travel date because I wanted to make sure I had them well in advance of our trip). I just received the tickets today (5/16) via Royal Mail.

I ordered 3 Adult tickets (£190.00 each) and 1 Child (£155.00 each) for a total of £725.00. My credit card bill shows a charge of £725.00 pounds sterling = $1084.71. The Universal Currency Converter (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) converts £725.00 into $1056.25, so the difference must be the conversion that MasterCard is using. This works out to $284.00/adult and $233.00/childs ticket.

The World Pass ended up costing about the same as a 6-day Park Hopper Plus, but is a lot cheaper than the Premium Annual Passes we were going to buy!

AND purchase of UK tickets includes vouchers for a Character Breakfast, good at a number of WDW restaurants (including Chef Mickeys) !!! Including tax and tip, this is about a $75.00 values for our family of four.

I am so stoked that we were able to score these passes and wanted to share this with my fellow DIS'ers who have helped me so often. I'd be happy to answer any questions about my order.

This ticket would be great for my youngest son. We went last year and bought annual passes, but didn't have to get a ticket for him - so he is the only one without a pass right now. We are going in Oct for 11 days. The only thing that concerns me about these tickets is that they are marketed for the UK. Is there anything printed on the passes that says they are restricted in anyway to anyone?? I would hate to buy the pass and find out when we get there that we can't use it.

There is absoulutely no language whatsoever, printed anywhere on the tickets, that restricts the use of these tickets to only UK citizens. In fact, the tickets look exactly like every other Park Hopper currently being issued. The front has different characters (Mickey, Donald, etc.) holding paint brushes by the "100 Years of Magic" logo. The back has the standard magnetic strip, standard "Non-tranferable..." disclaimer, and printed 10 DAY WORLD TICKET SPECIAL OFFER on the bottom.

Although this ticket was intended to be marketed to their UK visitors, I legally bought this ticket from a very reputable and well known travel group (btw - Virgin Travelstore's parent company also owns the big Virgin Records store in Downtown Disney). I really don't think there will be any problems in using these tickets by US citizens. (Besides - You can always say they were a "gift" from Aunt Agatha in Liverpool!)

Although I originally wrote that they must be used by October 31, 2002, I re-read the flyer that was included with my tickets and it actually states that FIRST USE must be by 10/31. You can actually start using these on Halloween for MNSSHP and they will not expire for another 20 days (11/20/02).

I really want to buy this ticket, But I am so nervous. I really need to know how much the shipping charges are and how much the credit card charge is. This will make a difference as I had only budgeted for a 5-day hopper plus pass.

You can use them for Halloween day but not for MNSSHP since it is a hard ticket event that requires a separate ticket for admission.

I sure hope these continue to be available to the US next year when we start planning our next trip! Too late for us this year...

The Flight Shop charges a flat $80.00 for shipping/credit card fee to the US.

Virgin Travelstore did not charge me any extra shipping fees or credit card fees. I received the tickets 3 days after it was mailed from England.

The actual price I was charged was £725.00 which Mastercard converted to $1084.71. I think what was charged in dollars was more affected by what exchange rate my credit card company was using, rather than what Virgin billed.

Since I actually have the tickets in my possession, there is no doubt that either company will ship to the United States.

If anyone is concerned about using the tickets, I suggest going over to the UK Board and asking past visitors about what happens at the entrances turnstiles. I sincerely doubt they ask for passports or any IDs. You probably just feed the card through, the CM gets a green light that there are days left on the pass, and off you go!

You know, Steve, just in case you have any problems, you should start watching some British films and practice your accent before you go. I suppose that the phrase you'll need most is, "I'm terribly sorry, I've left my passport in the hotel safe." lol

I can't wait to tell my husband about this deal and see if he wants to get our tickets now for our trip in October.

We have also bought these tickets for our upcomming 14 day trip, their is no need for any english accent or passport. The reason behind the ticket is to encourage travellers across the atlantic, well in fact the Brit's have never stopped comming which has lead to higher air fares but the tickets make up for this.

I have read throught the replies and can't specifically tell--is this one park per day for 10 days and include water parks as a choice for those 10 admissions, or are they actually Park Hoppers? This would make a huge difference for us.

Aslo, I was surprised to note on the Virgin website that was posted--or else it was talked about on the UK board--that while the 199pound price tickets expire in Oct, they have or will have tickets with the expiration date further out for like 260pounds. That's still a darn good price for 10 days--especially if it IS park hopping priveledges!

Steve--do your tickets SAY if you can park hop? Thanks for sharing this info!

The passes came with a pass holder that has a picture of the yellow "Park Hopper" guy, zipping around on a flying carpet. It is also printed with "Ticket Entitlements" that read as follows:

The meal vouchers that were included in my packet are exactly like the ones that many of us bought through "Connections" (see other threads on the Budget Board). It is titled WDW Resort or Character Breakfast Feature and has an expiration of May 31, 2003.

On the front reads: This certificate is valid for one (1) breakfast at a participating restaurant located within the WDW Resort and includes choice of one (1) juice, one (1) entree, one bakery (1) item, and one (1) hot beverage or if available, one (1) full breakfast buffet . Applicable taxes and gratuities are included. Alcoholic beverages, souvenir drink mugs, and room service are not included.

The back of the voucher lists the participating locations:

I have been monitoring these boards and mousesavers.com for months now and I have to thank everybody for all the good ideas and tips. This will be the third year in a row my mother, my daughter and I are going to WDW and I can hardly wait!!! I'd love to know how someone makes out with this 10 day pass- it would be the best value for our trip, but I'm hesitant to try it ( I'm a chicken about certain things) I wait with bated breath...

Hi Nancy -

The back of my tickets only have "Valid for 20 days after first use, Exp 11/2". But the flyer included in the ticket did point out that these passes must be first used between May 1st and Oct 31st, 2002. So I take that to mean that first use can be on October 31st, with final use expiring on either November 20, 2002 or by the 10th day of use, whichever comes first.

From my own research, this is the second year that WDW has offered these passes via the UK market. If you are concerned with them working, just vist the DIS's UK boards and read about all the Brits who have and will use these passes for their "Holidays".

I have in my possession 100% real, genuine, WDW passes. These are not vouchers that need to be exchanged. I plan on walking straight up to the first turnstile, inserting my World Pass, and walking straiht into the park.

I understand your concern and I'm not trying to convince you to do something you are uncomfortable with. But it sounds like you may just need some encouragement, so if you are planning on traveling between now and November for more than six days, this may be a way to save a little money.

Ordered 4 10-day world pass hoppers last night from Virgin travel. We will save $400.00 on our trip with these tickets, as opposed to the Unlimited Magic passes we were initially planning to buy. Thanks Steve and all for the thorough information regarding these passes.

I've read all the posts concerning the 10-day world pass tickets. I even emailed Mary at Mousesavers.com to see if she knew anyone from the US who had successfully used these tickets. She emailed back and said she had heard from someone in the US who had bought and used the passes with no problems. I decdided to go for it. Bought 3 passes and saved over 300 dollars. Thanks for the info everybody!

I assume the tickets are "non-transferrable" but I'm wondering if there is anything that identifies the user (ie- picture, finger-scan, etc.) We will be vacationing back to back with another family; two consecutive weeks in the same vacation home. If I buy the ticket and use 5 days and leave them for the other family to use the remaining 5 the following week, will this work?

I just can't buy something I know I won't fully use during my stay.

The 10-Day World Pass, as is all Disney admission media, is definately Non-Transferable, and should only be used by the originating party. I believe that positive ID'ing is only used on annual passes, so the only thing standing in your way is your conscience and your own sense of ethics.

Sharing tickets with another family just isn't right. I would compare this to buying a one-day pass, touring a park in the morning only, and selling it to someone else to be used in the afternoon. If you "can't buy something you know you won't fully use during you stay", then don't buy it. If you will only be vacationing for one week, maybe the world pass isn't for you.

I hope I'm not sounding too hypocritical. The World Pass was intended for the UK market, but because UK tavel agents have agreed to international sales it is available to us Americans. So I have legally bought these passes for my families private use. I am not breaking any rules when I use them.

As you can tell, I am strongly opposed to your suggestion and I am trying to dissuade you from a course of action that I consider abusive and that may make Disney terminate the World Pass program altogether.

I have to agree with Steve, it's a good deal if you can use all 10 days. It isn't right to "share" with another family. Disney will stop doing these specials if they know people take advantage that way..........Just my opinion.

I did not mean to offend anyone with my question. Steve - I don't see this as the same thing that you do. I compare it to giving unused days on a hopper pass to a relative as a gift for an upcoming trip (which I have done), or giving away water park tickets that I received through a promotion (which I have done), or remotely similar to purchasing PHP's on e-bay (which I have not done, but is very common).

Disney has and used to have many safeguards in place to identify the original purchaser of the tickets. They have allowed the second-hand sale of park hoppers by removing the photos and names from them and not finger-scanning the original purchaser. They are fully aware of the second-hand market around WDW, as well as on e-bay.

I am not the kind of person who will take advantage of a situation or compromise my ethics for a few bucks. That is why I will not purchase e-bay tickets or second-hand tickets of any kind. That is also why it has taken me this long to seriously consider purchasing tickets that are not intended for my use. In fact, giving these passes away will not save me any money.

I did state that I can't see buying something I can't fully use. Therein is my debate between the 4-day hopper plus and this pass. By allowing someone else to use the rest of it, I felt I was being generous and helping make their trip magical. I was simply wondering if I could offer the tickets to a friend to use after I have used what I am able.

I appreciate your information regarding these passes but I take offense at your questioning my ethics.

Has anyone checked into the possibility of applying the value of any unused days toward an Annual Pass? We've done this with the regular hoppers with no problems.

I would think that the exchange would have to occur before the 21-day expiration (if it is possible).

Steve - thank you so much for sharing this info - very good of you. I was hesitant to get the ticket until I spoke with Disney to ensure that they are legit and the person on the phone told me she never heard of it. I assume she is just ill-informed. I am just looking for some way to know that I won't get to the turnstile and hear them say, what is that? Do you know of anyone who has used it yet, or any way to verify with Disney that it will be accepted? Thanks.

I know this is a GREAT deal and kind of wish I could use them (already bought my 5 day for our October trip).

I'm just a little concerned that if this spreads and everyone starts taking advantage of this in the US that it soon will be stopped by Disney.

These passes were made for foreign visitors and although Virgin and another site are selling them to the US now, I think they really aren't suppose to.

I know the word is spreading like wildfire. I've seen it mentioned here in a few places, at the RADP and at Mousesavers.

Just a word of warning that when something seems too good to be true, it usually is and I think it's only a matter of time before Disney realizes what's going on.

I'm not saying that buying from them is wrong. I'm saying it's probably a temporary thing.

Hi Pitter - Please check out the DIS's UK forums. There are many posts from successful World Pass users that may make you feel more comfortable. I think that this is the first year that UK travel agents have agreed to International sales to US, so I have no data points to provide you on that.

Hi Beattyfamily - I agree that there is the chance that WDW may pull the plug on US sales if it seems we are abusing the passes. That's why I feel so strongly about some of the recent posts.

But if people don't post about the good deals that are available from programs like World Pass, Connection Vouchers, Priceline "Bidding for Travel", etc, what does it matter? If I don't know about it, I can't take advantage of it. And if I can't use it, then does it matter whether it exists at all.

Maybe we should start a thread on the debate board for further discussion.

Hey DVC California, you didn't list disneyquest, but it's listed at the virgin travel site/ Any idea when the 190uk price expires? the flightshop offer ends on 5/31 wasn't sure about theirs. Also I have emailed disney about these and there is no problem using these passes. They are marketed towards the overseas, but they know that the passes can be given as gifts or bought if you were traveling over there. I can post my emails from disney if anybody is still worried. We're planning on getting them soon for our Sept. trip.

Hi presleyg - You're right, I did leave off Disney Quest from my list but I think I mentioned it elsewhere in the thread. As far as I know, the summer promo on the passes must be ordered by 5/31/02, no matter whom you buy it from, FlightShop, Virgin or UK Disney Store.

We appreciate your recent ticket inquiry.

We believe that you are referring to the 10-Day Worldpass, which is marketed in the United Kingdom and other international markets. Although we do not monitor who uses the 10-day Worldpass tickets (since passes may be given as gifts), that type of pass is only available for purchase from those specific markets and does have certain limitations. The 10-Day Worldpass does have an expiration date and if it becomes demagnetized or damaged and needs to be reissued, you may be questioned as to where you purchased the pass.

Regarding the 10-Day World Hopper passes, the park hopper days do allow you to hop between the four main Theme Parks on each day of use. Hopping from one park to another on the same day counts as only one day of use.

For further information regarding the 10-Day World Hopper Pass, please see the pass literature, which should have been included with the pass.

Virgin Travelstore uses Keith Prowse Tickets (http://www.keithprowsetickets.com/disney10day.html) as the UK vendor for tickets. His web page, which I have linked above, confirms that the summer promo for World Passes must be purchased by May 31, 2002.

It also looks like Virgin is discounting the price that Keith offers on his own web page. This may be part of their online booking discount.

Hi wdisneelvr - Although I haven't ordered any of the other passes that Virgin Travelstore has listed, I assume that they are the regular park pases and hoppers that you can buy here in the states. You would need to convert the UK pound sterling price to US greenbacks to see if there is any cost savings. There are many US online ticket agencies like Connections - Members only (http://www.connections123.com/) and Florida Orlando Tickets (http://www.floridaorlandotickets.net/discounted_tickets.html) , that might have better deals available.

How long do you think from ordering that your card is charged? I was wondering about the authorization, do you need to send an additional fax so they can charge it?

I got the same message as Steve. Hmmm... I wonder if they changed the rules overnight. I ordered mine yesterday. I also put my departure date as June 2nd. I wonder if that matters. IMO, I'd prefer to have the tickets safely tucked away in the safe deposit box than to worry about receiving them in time if they are shipped 10 days prior to my travel dates.

Hi presleyg - My 4/20 ticket order was charged to my Mastercard on 4/24 by Worldwide Travel for exactly £725.00. If you can monitor your credit card transactions online, check every couple of days to see if it's gone through, that's what I did. When I ordered, Virgin did not require FAX authorization, but the Flight shop did. I was emailed by Amanda Bennison <Amanda.Bennison@theflightshop.co.uk>, saying that as soon as she received my fax and approval of the $80.00 shipping, she would send the tickets. That's why I went with fee free Virgin. Less hassles and cheaper.

Hi Jen80370 - Gee, that's new to me. Maybe Virgin has changed their online ordering for US citizens. You could try again with another credit card or different dates, but you may just have to call Virgin directly to find out the straight dope. Maybe they are instituting a Fax Authorization like the Flight Shop.

I was wondering that maybe the Virgin Travelstore is being flooded by orders from the U.S. since Mousesavers.com is advertising the 10 day park passes as well and they can't keep up with the orders coming in. Maybe that is why they are having you call now. Just a guess :)

According to someone who just got back, "adult tickets require you to do the finger scan thing, just like APs, so if you were planning on sharing them with someone, this may not work for the adult tickets. The child tickets don't require this".

The same poster said that there were 5 adults and 5 children in her party and the the tickets "worked fine. There are no restrictions for use as far as having to be a UK resident or anything like that".

I think word traveled fast on this and maybe that is why some people are having trouble. I think they are being flooded with US orders right now (special ends May 31).

Either they're just flooded and want to use the phone for US orders now or they will put a stop to it since these passes really are geared to foreign visitors.

I'm so happy for those who were able to order these; it's a great deal! Good luck to all of you who are trying to order them!

I read the post on the other site and it said just one admission to DQ. the flightshop says unlimited?? I recieved an email on sunday from virgintravel and they said they would send them to US but would need 4-6 weeks notice.

I just booked a child 10 day pass on the virgin travel site without any problems. I also received a confirmation letter stating that my pass will be mailed 10 days prior to the travel date. I put June 10th as the date I am leaving. I received the same general email as others - stating that once they receive authorization from the credit card - the amount will be debited from that card. I used my debit card and will be able to check online to see when they deduct that amount. Will post again when I see that the amount for the ticket has been debited.

Breana - Since you used a debit card, I was wondering if you should give your bank a call to expect an overseas debit. I didn't have to with my Mastercard, but I'm not sure how your local bank may handle these types of "unusual" charges. Anything to streamline the process and keep your orders as computer automated as possible would be good. Don't want any red flags raised, if you know what I mean.

I am afraid I can be alittle clueless sometimes, not sure what you mean by red flags raised. If you mean raising them as far as virgin selling to the US - I don't think that should be a problem. I was looking at the other travel site today and they mentioned on the site that they welcome orders from the U.S. The debit card is a VISA card, so I don't expect any problems with the order. Do you think I should still call them since it is a VISA debit card? I have used the card to purchase something from Canada without any problems.

June 1st might be cutting it just alittle too close. I believe the time difference for London is about 5 hours ahead of us.

Hi Joyce - Nope, you're not clueless, it's just my paranoia creeping through. I meant to say that the easier you make it on Virgin to get the credit card authorization, the quicker the World Passes will make it's way to Jersey!

If your Visa debit has any triggers set up by your local bank against credit card fraud (i.e. a large charge from overseas that doesn't fit your spending patterns), they may place a hold on the authorization until they contact you. Or Virgin, not being able to get the charge authorized, decides to email you back that you should sign a fax authorization that the charge is legitimate.

It's probably unlikely to happen, but why tempt the Fates? It probably just takes a quick phone call to the 800 number on your card and asking them to note that a pending UK charge will be show soon. But since, you have ordered other stuff from out of country, maybe your bank doesn't "profile" your charges.

Let us know how things turn out,

LOL!!! I am afraid that I would be tempting the fates by calling my bank!! If I don't see the charge show up tomorrow I will call the bank and hopefully talk to someone that has a clue! I have called the bank before to question a pending charge, but all they are able to tell me is that a charge is pending and they have no idea where it is coming from! So - I think I am safe from this bank! I will let you know how it goes, I am very excited about this ticket - I forget how much I am saving on this one ticket - I know it was at least $65! More money for me to spend at the candy stores at all the parks. (for me - not the kids)

This is the most recent email from virgintravel, this is after another email where they told me shipping to the US was fine but they would need 4-6 weeks notice.

Thank you for your email, sorry for the delay in my reply but I have not been in the office since Sunday.

After reading this last email from you I have just realised that the prices you are looking at are only valid to clients who are based in the UK. We can still arrange your tickets for you but the it would be at the full price. If you advise me how many days you would need I can give you a definite price.

We can send the tickets on to you by swiftair which takes about 5 days and would be an extra cost of £2.85 to you.

I had a hard time with Virgin online so I contacted the Flight Shop, which now advertises that they will ship to the US.

I received an email that shipping would be insured through UPS for $70. Normally that would cost a lot more then Virgin, but Virgin uses conversions to the Dollar according to the credit card companies(in my case 1.53). Flight Shop used 1.4...which is the lowest I'd seen. So it only ended up costing me an extra $20 for the four passes combined. Does Virgin send theirs insured?


Either way we slice it, we are saving a nice chunk of change over buying in Florida. Thanks SOOOO much for the tip.

THe way I look at it is this way, if it was only restricted to the UK there wouldn't have been an option for the country in the address form! Also, you received your tickets without a problem. Maybe Virgin never received so many orders from the US, so once they got flooded with questions they decided to add the extra charge! I am sure they are not restricting their online sales to the Uk because it seems like they and the other online one are in competition with each other (the one site states their ticket prices are cheaper than Virgins - even though they are the same price now. That is the site that also states they will ship to the US.

Joyce - Everything you've said is true. What I meant to write (but came out wrong) was that Virgin may now be reserving the discounted online prices for their UK customers. Keith Prowse is Virgin's UK ticket vendor and his own online price is slightly higher than Virgin Travelstore's (£199 vs. £190). Therefore Virgin was probably offering an additional discount to their own customers.

From presleyg's email, Virgin indicates that the discount was intended for UK buyers only. However, some of the online sales, yours and mine included, was probably all processed automatically through their computerized system. An order comes in through the web site, the computer sends a reply email, requests a credit card charge and schedules delivery. Passes and a receipt are packaged by hand but staff only knows the computer has authorized this shipment. A few days later, we get our tickets.

However, with the flood of orders and emails, real people actually have to respond to questions and the "red flag" is up concerning shipping fees, credit card authorizations, etc. to US customers.

I didn't mean to say the passes themselves are restricted to UK, just the online discount.

Jen - That's great news. I didn't think that the FlightShop would use a different exchange rate. You got a really good deal, especially with UPS insured shipping. Virgin sent my passes out via Royal Mail, which I'm guessing, is the equivalent to US Postal.

What's that noise I hear...Oh, it's the sound of the stampede of buyers going over to the FlightShop's site.

I understood what you were saying - that so many people flooded Virgin with calls that they either changed their policy or realized U.S. people were ordering from them. I do hope I didn't sound like I was challenging what you had said, that wasn't my intention. What I meant was that I didn't think Virgin would restrict their online sales to the UK when another site wasn't restricting them. I was just assuming they would want to compete. Glad I ordered them when I did. I was going to put if off for a couple of days because the money I put aside was to pay the hotel bill. Decided the hotel could wait, past experience with good deals has taught me to act right away before they get snatched away. Hmmm, I wonder if they are reprogramming their computer right now! When are you going to Disney?

Flight Shop...Virgin...all I know is I still saved $400 from buying these passes and I don't have to count plusses or ration my days at the park. My DS can live at DisneyQuest at night if he wants. Thanks so much for the tip Steve. There's great karmic pixie dust in your future...

Another tip that might help. Flight Shop requires that you fax the front and back of your credit card to them to prevent online fraud. I personally didn't want to get fired for faxing London from work, so I made the copy I needed, and scanned it onto my computer and emailed it...free and just as fast. Hope this helps someone else.

presleyg - I'm not sure how you feel about carrying a balance on your credit card. Charging $2000.00 to cover airfare and tickets would incur about $30.00 of interest for one month based upon a 18% annual rate. It may be the best $30 bucks you spent if you could save "hundreds" on something else. Just food for thought.

Joyce - No offense taken. It's hard to interpret someone's meaning just from emails and messageboards. Sometimes, I go out of my way to clarify something that doesn't need it.

BTW - Our vacation is from July 2nd to the 20th. We are doing WDW at both ends of the trip with a Carnival cruise sandwiched in the middle. That's why I jumped on these tickets as soon as the word got out, they are ideal for our length of stay.

Jen80370 - That's a fantastic tip about scanning and emailing! I also was worried about faxing England from work and didn't even want to know how much Kinko's would have charged. And with the FlightShop having a better exchange rate and shipping insured UPS, I would have gone with them also.

Ok the first oder was rejected becuase my travel date was too close for shipping so I reordered using a further date of June 20 and I called my CC Yesterday and they aprrove the charge so I hope it was for the second order. Since according to their email they could not process orders from the us via website for the first order. I will send an email to them with the order #s. 3 tickets not 6. I tried calling them but I can;t seem to get through maybe it is the country code. I dial 0441493306504 . Thanks

I ordered my passes on Sunday and have been checking my credit card every day. Watching these posts I started getting nervous. The charges posted to my account today (Friday) . I bought 3 adult passes and was charged 850.78 about 283 piece. Can't wait til I finally have them in my hand. Thanks for all your help!

Just rec'd our 4 adult 10-day World passes from www.theflightshop.co.uk. I first learned of these over on the UK board and posted my story there and I think here a few weeks ago! At that time, flightshop was much less than Virgin but charged $80 s/h to USA. I ordered thru flightshop on-line, had them mailed to friend in Ireland to avoid s/h charge(with OK from flightshop) and have just rec'd them from Ireland. My AMEX was charged $1124.32 for the 4 adult passes (or $281 each). This is perfect for our 10-day stay- at $28 per day per person how can this be beat??? And FREE b'fast...including tax & gratuity! So thanks Steve and everyone who spread the word! Oh-flightshop price is 188 pounds sterling. Check their website for more info!:)

There was lots of discussion on a thread a couple months ago on whether they could do US sales of UK market tickets. There was also a question on their BBB rating but I can't remember the outcome.

Looks like Virgin is now consistently turning down orders from the US. I've heard from two people about this in the past few days.

The Flight Shop appears to be the only alternative left... its web site states explicitly that it DOES ship to the US. However, there is the $80 shipping fee to take into account. Since the Flight Shop charges slightly less for the passes and they are already a bargain, might be worth it.

I just got an email from the flight shop and they need me to fax my credit card if I want to place the order and they must have it bt 3PM GMT time..

O fcourse at the moment I have no access to a fax machine. Where will be the cheapest place to go? Staples? Office max? I am sure its goign to be alot for an overseas call through them.

Also anyone know what time 3PM GMT time equals in East Coast Time?

I received my 4 adult 10-day passes from Virgin Travel yesterday and was a little surprised by how they looked. I had read this description of the passes, which was posted by a UK poster under the "Disney passes- potential bargain" tread a month or so ago, and so I was expecting the passes to look like the following description:

"The Disney store in the UK are now selling these tickets until the end of May and are valid for use for 20 days from the first day of use - I purchased mine on Firday and they are great - Plastic like a credit card with the 100 years of Disney logo, you also get a voucher for a Character breakfast included in with the ticket - the following is printed on the reverse of the ticket

10 DAY WORLD TICKET SPECIAL OFFER GUEST
your 10 dya world ticket entitles you to 10 days of admission to the following parks with the freedom to visit multiple parks on the same day

MAGIC KINGDOM park Disney MGM studios
Epcot Disney ANIMAL KINGDOM theme park

My passes look much more like park hoppers; they are a sturdy paper ticket with a picture of a Disney character on the front of each pass. On the back of the tickets are the normal ticket warnings and details with the 10-day park hopper pass printed at the bottom.


Is this how yours look, or do they look like the description by the Uk poster from last month? Just want to make sure that there hasn't been any mix-up.

Mine are the same as yours. They are thick paper with the characters on them. They look like the 6-day hoppers that I have left over from last time except they don't reference the millennium celebration like my old hopper does.

Did your passes arrive regular US Mail? I want to know which delivery service to look out for :-) What date of departure did you give them? Did you get a second email telling you they were shipped?

I ordered mine fron Virgin on 5/17, my credit card was charged on 5/20, but I haven't received my passes yet. I'm wondering if I've made the cut-off or not. I did give my travel date of 6/17, so I guess that may be the hold up as they state they will ship 10 days prior to date of departure.

Oooh, the waiting is the hardest part! :(

I only received one e-mail from Virgin, which confirmed my order. I gave a departure date of 6/10/02 and received my passes on Wednesday. They arrived through the regular mail service, and I had to be home to sign for them, they wouldn't leave them with no one home. If you put the 17th as your departure date, I imagine that they will come late next week.

I received mine via USPS. They left a card for me to sign. I left it pinned to my mailbox for the mail carrier to see. They left the package between my screen and regular door as I had indicated on the package. The slip also gave me the option of picking it up at the post office or assigning an agent to get it for me. If all else failed, my neighbor works for the post office and I was going to assign him as my agent.

I had also selected 6/10/02 as my departure date.

The scanning and email idea worked great but now they are telling me my card is declined Ahhhh so i call the bank and they said they have ot declined anything. I told them to try in again and if not to cancel the order and i will end up buying annual passes.

Not a good day for credit cards, I was charged 2 times yesterday by the courtyard marriot and I have to call them now.

I got my 3 Adult pass from Virgin Travel I am so excited. I ordered before it it mouse savers posted the link. No shipping charrges they look just like the reg paper tickets. On the Back it does say 10 world pass. i will be making photo copies in case they get lost at the world.

Got mine yesterday (6/3)! I ordered mine fron Virgin on 5/17, my credit card was charged on 5/20, I gave them a June 17 departure date.

As previously posted by others, they look like regular park hopper passes.

I am hoping that the Flight Shop runs this special again.

If you read my earlier post about having problems with my credit card, it turns out that my bank had disabled my credit card by its fraud dept. I am still pissed becasue I called 3 time to finally find out why It wouldnt work and by than it was to late.

I just wanted to say if anyone is looking into The Flight Shop that what great customer service they have.

As explained my earlier posts I placed an order for the tickets but than had problems with my credit card. Turns out my bank referred my account to their fraud dept and disabled my card because of all the unusual activity.

Well I emailed Flight Shop to see if they would be having this promotion again and I explained my problem and they emailed me back and said they could complete my transaction because I had it in before the deal ended! Woohoo my card was successfully charged today and I should have the tickets in a few weeks.

Just last night I was figuring out the days and which days I could not go to a park and now I will be all set.

I, too, was very impressed with flightshop. Had them charge tix to me in NJ but mail to Ireland. They were quick, efficient & happy to comply! Hope they do it again next year. I'm now a loyal customer!

Just to let you know Virgin have extended the expiry date
to 12/31/02 although they have also put their prices up aswell.

Price is now £237.50 or about $332.50 which is an increase of about $66 on the original offer.

As far as I am aware Virgin have not changed their policy
on selling to the US.
Looking at the ticket info it would appear as though you can use
Disney Quest as you would if you were going to a Park so this
would count as 1 day used from the pass.

Ordered from the Paramount Travel Company last night. Faxed my credit card authorization today at 12:45 central. Received email shipping confirmation at 2:18 pm central with UPS Tracking number. UPS shows picked up at 6:39 PM in Orlando.

We will be there around 7/19 or so. Provided everything goes as planned with these 10 day tickets I will update from the PC's at Disney Quest!

My first mailing and three weeks will see us making our first wdw visit although we did visit Disneyland Cal. in '97. As you can imagine, it's getting pretty excited here just now - and do we have out 10 day passes? You bet! At £188 each you can work out for yourselves the saving we are making with our "extended" family of nine (we couldn't leave granny at home now could we?). Incidentally Travel Shop have also now increased their charge for the ticket so the bargain appears even greater.

Does anyone know how thid is goimg to work with DisneyQuest and the water parks?

For example to go to MK in the am and disney quest that evening that will be only one day right? And it will be 10 days unlimited to all 4 parks, the 2 water parks and disneyquest right?

I just wanted to make sure because after reading about park hopper passes with plus options everything gets so confusing.

From the information I have read, it appears that you can hop around on one day and it is one item but I don't know if we will know for sure until someone uses it. I know we can't handle 10 full days anyway, so in our case if we go to the parks and then Disney Quest in one day and have to use two off the pass it isn't a big deal. We still need to find room for a couple of Universal Days in there yet!

The 10 day pass is similar to a length of stay pass, except that it includes a Character Breakfast and expires 20 days after the first use, rather than at the end of your stay. As you may know from reading other posts on this thread, the World Pass was designed for the overseas market - i.e., specifically for those overseas guests who visit 2 weeks or more, but stay off site. Paramount may not want to (or be able to) sell it domestically because of their agreement with Disney.

CarolMN - You know, there was nothing in the package about the breakfast-I had forgotten that. Does anyone have any idea if it produces a voucher when you go to Disney the first time? Or should they have sent it from Paramount?

(Note: When I tried to order by phone from Paramount I couldn't but it did go via internet and order was received in just a couple of days).

Hi all! I promised to let everyone know as soon as we returned (midnight!), so here's the GREAT news!

Used our 10-day passes (purchased through Flightshop.com) with NO PROBLEMS!!!! Had purchased ours in May on-line and had them mailed to friend in Ireland who then sent them to us. We paid 188 UK pounds each for 4 adults. We had unlimited access to ALL parks (including TL & BB and DQ) every day for 10 days. We went some days to 4 different parks(MK in morning, TL afternoon, EPCOT dinner and then DQ). We DID have to do the'insert-your-two-fingers' ID thing, but no big deal!

Also used our b'fast vouchers at H & V in MGM without a hitch. Many people had them and server recognized them right away!

All-in-all, this was BEST value for our stay.

So relax and enjoy anticipating your trip-Looks like these passes will work like a charm!

Pleased to hear your passes worked so well and thanks for the recommendation for breakfast. Our passes will be working overtime in 48hours time as we head out from Manchester tomorrow morning and can't wait - excitement is at fever pitch!
