DIS Digi Scrapping Challenge #39 (1/7 - 1/13/09)

Wow! It feels like I haven't hosted a challenge in AGES! I'm excited though, because I'm going to host my favorite kind of challenge - a character color challenge! :) You know I like these because I always do them when its my turn to host! HAHA

This week your challenge is to scrap any Disney pics using the colors of . . .

Jiminy Cricket

Your layout must include the colors above. You don't have to use ALL of the colors, but keep your color palette within these hues. And they don't have to be the EXACT colors as these. Your red can be a different shade of red, for example. Just use your best judgement. I'm not going to disqualify anyone!

For the prize this week I'll be choosing 1 entry at random as well as my favorite entry and those two scrappers will each receive my new kit coming out on Friday. I can't tell you what it is yet, but you're going to LOVE IT! So check back after Friday to see what the mystery kit is!

Here's my layout ... a tribute to the Liberty Tree Tavern which I read had its last character meal on 1/5/09! We're so sad -- it's an awesome meal. It's the only meal we've had where the characters come around three or four times during the meal. The characters are always so playful and really cut up with you at LTT. So sad to see it go, but maybe they'll replace it with something wonderful. At least we have pictures and memories!

Some of our best meals at Disney World have been at the Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, the last character meal there was held on on January 5, 2009. This was one of our favorite character meals and it’s really sad to know it is gone. However, we do have a lot of wonderful memories and pictures to remember the fun times we shared there.

Oh, Susan, I love your LTT LO! We were supposed to eat there on Jan. 4, one last time, but had to change our ADR to have dinner with some friends who were there and since they didn't have park media, we ate at Narcoossee's instead. We couldn't change to the 5th since we were eating at V&A that night. I was SO disappointed that we didn't get to eat at LTT for one last time. It was sad to see the "Goofy Liberate Your Appetite..." sign gone. I'll miss it!!:sad:

Journaling: Penny is so in love with Minnie Mouse! She talked about her all the time while we were at Disneyland, but she couldn't bring herself to get close to her. Each time she saw her she was enamored. She would stand back and wave and stare at her for as long as she could. She would blow her kisses... and then she would say "Mommy, I blew her kisses" and look all timid and shy. It was the cutest thing! Penny's love for Minnie from afar is one of my favorite memories from our trip.

Wow this sounds like a fun challenge, btw I love these, this is going to help me get that Disney trip scrapped before we go again (crossing my fingers for 2009 but it will probably be 2010).

Britt, I love the new kit.. I have perfect pictures of Sulley and Me (he was my favorite when we went to WDW in Sep. 2008)

About the prize, I couldn't wait to possibly win this kit, I had to buy it the second I saw it, lol.

Here's my entry. I was just about to upload when I realized yellow wasn't on the palate (oops!) so I had to go back in and recolor one of the beads to orange, lol. We were just passing by Pirates when Jack comes running towards us. I think my mom and I just stopped in our tracks and starred (he looks SO much like Jack!), so he smirked and waved at us. Luckily I caught it on camera! When I have more time, I might try to go in and photoshop the guy standing behind Jack.

I am BEHIND!!!!! I've only scrapped ONE page so far this month. Pathetic, I know. But I did just about obliterate the (I kid you not!) 2-1/2 foot high mending and repairs pile that was hiding behind my basement couch. Now it's just a manageable bit or two in the mending basket.
