Hello,

Happy New Year! How is everyone? We are a couple in our mid 30s wanting to plan a last minute trip from Philadelphia to Orlando this weekend.

We would fly in on a Friday night and back on Sunday night. We have been to WDW before, so just want to relax a bit thats it, check out 1-2 parks.

Are parks going to be crazy this weekend?

The weather looks nice, mid 70s, but we are unsure of the crowds...

What would you recommend?

Thanks so much,
Raja

You are welcome to join!

Any idea of the crowds? Which are the 2 must visit parks, one on Saturday, one on Sunday?

Thanks,
Raja

The WDW marathon is this Sunday, the 11th. I think it could be pretty busy; we'll be there also. Our trip is also last minute. Anyone been around the parks marathon w/e? Enjoy!!

Joan

If I were going just for the weekend, I think I'd prefer to do Epcot on both days.

We went on kind of short notice last year and I said I wouldn't go again for a few years, until our little guy would remember it. Hubby wants to go back this year, in like 2 wks... nothing like short notice x2.

I'd definately get Epcot and Magic Kingdom in on a short trip like that if it was me.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. She definitely wants to see Epcot. The next choice will either be WDW or Islands of Adventure.

Two quick questions:

1) We are flying in and out of Orlando airport. Do we need a car rental? It will just be the two of us going to the theme parks and back

2) Where should we stay, which area, any hotel suggestions for 100-200 dollars a night?

Thanks,
Raja

There are ways of getting around the Disney area without a car, but, in my opinion, having a car makes life so much easier. If you really don't want to get a car, there are several non-Disney hotels that offer a shuttle service. There are busses that can get you around the WDW resort, too.

A lot of DISers love to stay in the value hotels right in the WDW resort (Pop Centurey, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, and All-Star Movies). Most people seem to really like the Pop Century. My family and I have stayed offsite. I highly recommend the Comfort Suites Maingate East, which is about 10-15 minutes away (by car) from WDW. We were able to get a great deal on hotels.com. :thumbsup2 I hope this helps. Have a great time at WDW!! :wizard:
