I can't stand waiting to see if it keeps going up or if it will fall?
:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:
I've got my finger on the trigger, but I never know when to pull!!!
By the way, where is the best place to exchnage money with the leaset amount of extra fees?:goodvibes
I can do online transfers into my US$ account, but it never feels like I'm getting the best deal (though the bank said I would be!!) It always seems to be about 2 points higher when I exchange.
Is this normal??

Then there is the park passes to tackle - why didn't I buy them when they were at par.......

This is good and bad. Good that the dollar is going up as I want to add some points to my DVC contract but as the dollar goes up, so does the price of a barrel of oil and higher gas prices and higher inflation.

I find the transferring between my chequing and my USD acct always pretty favourable? I can watch it through the day then pounce when I think it's time!

Other way around. If the price of oil goes up so does our dollar and prices at the pump. Although, we're in a fairly serious recession right now so the inflation rate should stay fairly stable regardless of any increase in $/bbl. As usual though as soon as the $/bbl increases pump prices will jump. I personally hope that the price of oil starts to increase because it is really pulling the entire Canadian economy down. It is on of our biggest (if not THE biggest) export.

I'm also hoping for a good exchange rate. My DVC maintenance/annual fees are due in mid January.

Mine too, but did you know as long as they receive the payment before Feb.14, you are charged no late fee.......maybe by then our dollar will be back at par:lmao: :lmao:

Yes, but it's an automatic charge to my credit card and they always do it on the 15th of January. This was set up when we joined 7 years ago and as a Canadian, I wasn't offered an option. Alot of things has changed since then. I'm glad to see a lot more Canadians. When we joined our guide told us that there were only a handful of us. But then again, the membership was also very small at the time. I had conversations with others who joined when it began in 1991 and they said that DVC was a lot different than it is now. Well I guess it's to be expected since the memberships have grown exponentially and it's not such a "Secret" anymore. (Sorry about going on the tangent)
Anyways, I am going to join you and wish for par!:lmao:
(Although, I never thought I'd ever see it at par, and it did! So you never know I guess.):)

I'm also glad the dollar is doing much better. Driving to the mouse in 3 weeks, so the higher it goes againt the USD, the less the trip costs us. Have a great day!!

Tsf'd $500 USD from CDN acct to USD acct yesterday at 1.2159 ($607.95 CDN). Not great, but could be worse I suppose.

This was Bank of Montreal. Also - I know that tsfing from one acct to another is cheaper than actually buying the cash - which is why I have the USD acct (and to try and save...but for some reason that is not working out!). I also have a USD Mastercard from BMO which I can pay from my USD acct - saves on the exchange because when you purchase on your CDN MC they levy a 2 or 2.5% premium on the exchange (i.e. 1.25 would equal 1.275 using the MC).
