is tug a message board??
if so do people trade their timeshares??
if you can trade, how does one figure out if its a "good deal"??
would I be better off going through ms to book??
how safe is it anyone ever had any problems??
thanks,
cheryl

Tug is a forum, just like Disboards.
There is a marketplace section where you can rent, sell, or direct exchange your timeshare for free.
Value is in the eye of the beholder. I use Redweek as a price check to determine a value. But if you have to be at a certain resort, at a certain week, then that is your priority.
I have never had a problem renting my weeks on tug. I control the units, I get a contract and payment upfront. I only deal with registered users, it only costs $10 to join.

I've rented through TUG as well---it's a very informed group that really understands timeshare, which is a plus.
As for fair value in a direct exchange---that's really up to you. The review database can help you understand what you might be getting in any particular exchage. One thing I have noticed, though is that many of the "exchange wanted" ads are folks strictly looking to "trade up" (by a lot), and those seem to linger without ever being closed.
