I'll start out by introducing both my dh and myself. This will be my second trip report here on the dis. I did one for our Christmas trip 07.' If you would like to check it out the link is in my siggy.
Me: I'm Ashley and I just turned 25. I married my prince charming july 19th 2008 and we did a mini disneymoon on the disney wonder. I never did a report for that because I got to busy with work. It was a blast! It was so much fun that we are doing a seven day cruise on the magic this time around. :thumbsup2 We didn't have a disney wedding, but our wedding was beautiful with a very subtle cinderella theme. Very formal and beautiful! Cinderella is my favorite princess. As far as other characters I love Mickey of course, minnie and all the winnie the pooh gang. Dh and I work together for a pipeline company and we travel for work. I am his assistant and we are from ohio, but currently living in Va.

Dh: Matt is 27 and he LOVES to surprise me! I'm always caught off guard by this amazing man. In Dec 06' when we took our first disney trip he proposed to me at CRT. I never knew it was coming and couldn't stop crying for a good long time. We were suppose to go to disney in dec 08', but the trip got canceled due to not being able to get off of work. Well he let me know after it was canceled that he had upgraded us to concierge level at AKL so needless to say not only was I floored, but I was also deeply saddened that we missed out:( He does all the contact with our travel agent and loves to suprise me as I mentioned before. I can't say it enough he is an amazing man and I love him to pieces!

A little about us: We have been to disney twice together and he has been twice when we was younger. i went once with my family when I was younger. Both our families think that we are silly for going to the same spot three yrs in a row, but why the heck not? We LOVE disney! We also both love to read, which we plan on doing while laying on the beach during the cruise this time around. We have two fur babies. A two yr old wiener dog (who was also a suprise when we got back from our 06' trip I got her for Christmas.) Her name is Zoey and she lives with my parents and her best friend their 3 yr old choc lab named Charlie. We also have a 7 month old kitten we adopted from the yard at work. We work in a field office for a pipeline company as I mentioned and she adopted some people in one of the trailers and they were looking for a home for her and we took her in. She is very active and mischievous. Her name is Perla...I find it kind of ironic that she is named after a mouse:) (more specifically the mouse from cinderella of course!) We love photography! Before our Dec 07' trip we bought a Cannon rebel xt digital slr and we love it! It gets plenty of use and I can't wait to use it again on this trip! I am a scrapbooker and although I am behind on my disney books I just got more incentive to do them. Dh got me a cricut expression with some disney cartridges for Christmas! I am also using it to make our countdown calendar tomorrow!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3202/3155540203_e0f9a37135.jpg isn't she the cutest reindeer ever? I love my zoey!
Perla isn't camera shy...this is my fave pic of her!

Now the story of how this trip came to be:Little did I know, but a little before our wedding Dh had booked our december 08' disney trip and booked everything down to the last detail. Fast forward to Oct when he updates his iphone on the computer and the reminders go to the computer. I hear the computer making noise so I go to see whats going on. Well his reminder said to pay for the trip by friday so the cat was let out of the bag. He spilled the beans and I told him I didn't want any details b/c there was a possibility the trip could be canceled due to not being able to get time off work. He told me that we could cancel up until the day before and only lose our deposit. Fast forward to december and we find out we couldn't go on our trip. We were devastated, but then disney came out with the 4/3 and upper management was promising time off in late jan/ early feb. Our last seven day vacation had been in dec 07' and dh works 12-14 hr days six days a week so he is pretty much exhausted and wanted some major relax time (I am only part time.) So he proclaims, We're going on a two week vacation! I thought he was crazy at first, but with the help of the 4/3 deal (thank you disney!) and staying at csr we were able to afford it and we didn't lose our deposit since we rebooked right away! He got permission for time off and so came to be our two week vacation to disney world and our seven day cruise on the magic! We leave for disney on the 23rd!!! I can't wait! We have 17 days, 11 hours and 41 minutes (yes we are geeks and have counters on our laptops lol.)
I think that about sums it up for now. I also forgot to mention that we are big time pin collectors and traders. Tonight we went through all our traders and got them ready to go (i know its early, but we were thinking about it so we just went ahead and got it done.)

Very cool! Sounds like a great job! And traveling for work is awesome! I love to travel...I just hate packing to move hehe. Married life rocks! It seems like its been a long time since we got married, but it'll only be 7 months on the 19th. This is kind of honeymoon part two since we only got a four day honeymoon. Are you married?

I love to travel too, but Dbf isnt' crazy about me traveling for work so much! I am actually divorced (2 years now) but Dbf and I are seriously talking about marriage. He actually agreed to a Disney Wedding. He says he's just waiting for the right moment to propose but we are moving in together in April. Our first trip to Disney together is in June...his first trip ever really!!
Can't wait to hear more of your plans, and I am jealous you are going down so soon. Does your husband like to go to Disney too?

Hey Ashley! I remember reading your last TR! :) Congrats on the wedding. :)
You guys were going to be moving to MD, but it ended up being VA, am I correct? Sorry if I'm wrong - my brain can't always keep everyone straight. ;)

Nope your right. We lived in northern va (fairfax) for about six or seven months and then there was a pipeline explosion in appomattox, va and we got sent down this way and are currently living in Lynchburg, Va (about thirty minutes from work.) Its good to see you again...how are things going?

Traveling does take its toll on the relationship...IF the two of you let it. Dh was all the way across the country in washington state for about seven months and then he had to move up to duluth for almost a year and then I finally joined him in wi last year. So we were apart for a good long time. I only got to see him maybe five days out of all that time. We had web cam chats though and spoke a lot on the phone through out the day. We made it through and I think we're better people for it. A lot stronger relationship too! Yes, of course he loves disney. We both do! Although if you ask me...i'm a little more disney crazy than him, but I think its that way with a lot of couples. The girl is usually more crazy about it than the guy. A disney wedding...very awesome! :thumbsup2

Things are going well for me. We just found out about the great deals that Disney is offering military this year so we've just decided to take a trip in March. :goodvibes

It was indeed crazy and busy! I loved being close to d.c, but I didn't care for the super long stop lights in fairfax and the mad crazy traffic...it took like thirty minutes to get to stores that were five minutes from me b/c of all the lights. Did you live in apartments? We lived in the post forest apartments about three minutes from the mall, which was nice, but I only went to that mall a few times suprisenly. I miss fairfax, but I don't miss the rude people and all the traffic.

Thank you and thank you. I got a text from dh earlier...he said I'm working tomorrow so I HAVE to get my calendar done today! It'll be nice to work though after having two days in a row off! I just did a little over a mile on the treadmill (we are trying to get in shape for mickey.) I figure it can't hurt to do some pre walking. Well I jogged a bit too, but i'm sure dh will just walk. I've been working on our mountain of laundry too. I have my third load in the washer right now. What happened this morning? Hope all is well! :goodvibes

DH didn't get in until 3:30 in the morning, and I couldn't sleep until he got here. Then, Addy decided to wake up at 5:45, so I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night. Luckily, my sweet mom offered to take Addy for a while this morning so that DH and I could get some sleep. I'm working on the laundry too. The black t-shirts that I ordered finally came, so I'm going to get all of them washed so that I can start getting the transfers on them. My friend and I try to walk about twice a week. It's nice because it gives us a chance to get caught up plus it gets us some exercise. Over the summer, when she wasn't working, she used to teach at the high school with me, we walked 3 miles almost every morning. We're no where near that now though ;) .

Aww I'm so sorry, but that was super nice of her to take Addy for you! Very sweet! I think I'm just going to buy my tee shirts at a.c. moore (they have the hanes cotton ones pretty cheap) and probably get dh's at wal mart or something. I got him some nice colored shirts there last year in the spring. Eh...who cares how many miles ya walk...the important thing is your at least attempting to exercise. Thats all that matters. Thats what I tell myself. :) Where do you get your shirts from out of curiosity? Okay time to check the laundry and grab a shower...then its on to the calendar! :thumbsup2

I ordered our shirts from Old Navy because they had the t-shirts on sale for $5. I actually order the largest child's size for myself because they fit perfectly and are usually cheaper. I made DH try his on this morning before he left so that I could be sure they were the right size before I took them all out of the packages and washed them.
Mom is wonderful, and I'm so glad that we're close by. My in-laws are going to help with the girls while we're gone too, but the girls aren't nearly as comfortable there, so they'll be spending all of the nights with my mom.

Oh yea, you just reminded me that dh got several tee shirts from old navy for christmas, but I think they are more of a undershirt...we'll see how they look alone. No worries...I do the same thing with little kids clothes! It fits...why not save the money? Plus the biggest size in little kids sometimes fits better than an xs in juniors for me. It just depends on what it is. Tee shirts I can do...long sleeves...are ify b/c I have long arms. Still haven't done my calendar...I am getting there. :)

Dh emailed me a list of where we are eating and what not today so I think I'll post that tomorrow because I think he forgot to put where we would be each day. The first full day is always Magic Kingdom though so thats where we will be on the 24th! The 23rd is the day we get there and we'll most likely go to downtown disney. Dh and I sat down tonight and made our countdown calendar. The mickey heads don't cover the numbers completely, but other than that I was very happy with my first project I made with my cricut expression! Also as promised I took some pics of our disney pin collection...well actually only the ones that are on the cork boards...we also have two books full of pins as well.
Our countdown calendar( everything is made with our cricut except for the stickers on top of each mickey head.)

We have a smaller board next to this one, but for some reason I didn't take a picture of it...or maybe dh just didn't post it for me. You get the idea though. :)
And here are some of my plush...I think some are at home in storage too, but the important ones are in this pic. As you can tell I love mickey and minnie!

The countdown calendar is absolutely adorable!!!! I'm jealous. I love the picture of your pin collection too. We're still trying to figure out how to display ours. We're thinking about having a friend of DH make us a custom frame to fit at the top of our entertainment center, but I'll probably pick up one of the pin books to use until then.

thank you and thats awesome! I love trading pins! The first year I was really shy and last year I was still a bit shy, but not as much. I have about a 100 to trade so I am hoping that keeps us from having to buy traders. If I trade 100 pins i'm more crazy than I thought. :rotfl2: Also though I have to try to save some traders for the cruise b/c they do a pin trading night with the crew and thats where I got a lot of my pins in july when we cruised. Dh got them on ebay in a lot last year sometime so they were dirt cheap. Happy trading!

Aww thank you! Don't be jealous...like I said the heads don't even cover up the numbers completely, but they couldn't be made any bigger due to the ears already going into the other squares at the size they are. When we get a house someday in the way off future I'd like to make shadow boxes for some of our pin sets. I've seen people on here who have done it and turned out wonderfully. I'm thinking I could even embellish the shadow box with some stuff made from the cricut:thumbsup2

I know I said I was going to post our Itinerary yesterday, but I was very tired last night so I just went to bed at nine and didn't get a whole lot done, but the good news is since I went to bed at nine I got lots of sleep and I am getting tons done today! Dh dosen't really have an itinerary...its basically wherever we eat that day is the park we're going to be at, but we have hoppers so we can hop if we want to. So here are our adr's:
1/23- We are flying out of Richmond airport and are scheduled to arrive at Mco at 4:25 pm. We are taking Magical Express to AKL. We'll check in and then either go to DTD or the Contemporay is hosting a pin night this night for free and its open to guests of all ages. So I am pretty excited...you can bet we'll be there! Its from 6-9...I'm sure we won't stay the whole time so I am hoping we'll be able to catch dinner at Earl of Sandwich in DTD...we ate there the first night last year and it was delicious!
1/24- We have two traditions when it comes to our disney trip...well I'm sure we have a few others, but the first two are...the first day is always Magic Kingdom day and we always have breakfast at Crystal Palace as well. So we have adr's for Cp at 9:15 this morning. Then I'm sure we'll head on over to Fantasy land so we can try to catch those before the lines get to long. We have already said that we won't be riding snow white if the line is to long, but the rides we talked about going on in Fantasty Land are IASW, Peter Pan and the many adventures of winnie the pooh. Am I missing any? Mickeys Philharmagic is going to be under refurb and I am pretty sad about this since I love it! Theres always next time right? I'm not sure where we'll head from there, but I'm sure we'll have a wonderful day in MK!
1/25- Today we're going to be at Epcot, which is typical for us to do on the second day. Maybe another tradition if you will. First stop will be fast passes for Soarin' if the line is to long. Dh really wants us to ride test track, but I am a wimp and I'm scared that I'm not going to like it. We have adr's for Garden Grill at 5:50 pm. We ate here last year and loved it...the food was delicious and I love that it rotates while you are there so you get to see different scenes from living with the land. If you haven't ate here its a must and also the characters spend a decent amount of time at the tables so that is a bonus too! We'll try to do World Showcase, but we usually end up being to tired to make it all the way around...so we might or might not do it. We'll see what happens. We have a bad habbit of being in france and needing to get to the front of the park in a matter of a short time for adr's so hopefully we'll plan well and this won't happen because thats quite the hike! Of course we'll see Illuminations as well...I've never seen it when it wasn't the Christmas one and even though I know they aren't a lot different I am still excited to see it!
1/26- Today is a DHS day...or MGM...it will always be MGM to me...I know there are a lot of people out there who agree. First up will be fast passes for TSM....I can't wait for this ride! If the line isn't to long then I'm sure we'll just hop right on. We have adr's for 3:55 at Brown Derby and we have the Fantasmic dinner package, which I am stoked for because I love Fantasmic. We usually try to catch it a few times while we are in disney since I love it so much! We MUST SEE Beauty and the Beast stage show because we've gone two years in a row now and missed it both years so we won't be missing it this year gosh darnit! If your wondering why we're eating so early its because we booked the trip in Dec...not exactly the 180 days out that they recommend so we told our travel agent from Dreams Unlimited the places we wanted to eat and just to get us in whenever there was spots open as close to meal times as possible...well Brown Derby had very limited availability so thats what we ended up with and thats just fine by me. All I care about is that Fantasmic priority seating...guarantees ya a spot!
I'm going to hold off for the rest right now. I have to take Perla to the vet in a bit and I still haven't gotten ready for the day because I've been busy doing the treadmill and laundry. I'll be sure to finish the itinerary later on though...maybe when we get back from the vet. Wish me luck...I hate taking her...she screamed so loud last time they gave her a shot that I think the whole stinkin' street of businesses heard her. I've never heard a cat scream that loud and they are giving her another shot today, but its the last one...yay! :goodvibes

Okay, I'm back with the rest of the Itinerary. Here it goes...
1/27- Normally this would be a AK day and I think it might be the first half, but we do have adr's at CRT for 4:05. I love CRT with all my heart since first of all its in Cinderella's castle and she is my fave, but also because we got engaged here December 16th 2006. So it holds a special place in my heart...even if it is over priced and the food isn't the best. I wanted breakfast here because we did that last year and it was a lot of fun with all the princesses, but since we canceled our dec trip we lost that reservation obviously and had to make a new one and sadly couldn't get in for breakfast:( The upside is we could possibly see an engagement since we are going to be there for dinner! I would love that! I am hoping we get seated by the windows, but I am not holding my breathe. I don't know if they are showing wishes this night...but if they are perhaps we'll stick around for that since we'll already be there and maybe catch some other things that we need to still catch.
1/28-Today is going to be an AK day...if we don't do it at all the day before like I mentioned then it'll be a full blown AK day, but if we do catch some stuff then we'll just catch what we didn't and do our lunch at Tusker House at 1:25 and go see Nemo...we have priority seating!!! So excited! We aren't thrill ride fans so AK dosen't typically take us all day to get through. Also I have to be honest...although I am an animal lover...I really dispise going to AK because if its warm out...then it seems to be about 10 or 15 degrees warmer here without any shade and also all the walking...it takes forever to get anywhere here. I sound super whiny, but seriously I feel like this is a huge park and my feet are killing me by the end of the day. I'm a fan of walking, but everything is so stinkin stretched out...AK days tend to make me a little cranky. Hehe. If you haven't seen Nemo though I highly recommend it! We saw it last year for the first time and LOVED IT!
1/29- Today we have ADR's at Coral Reef for noon so if we haven't been all the way around the world showcase I'm sure today will be the day that it happens and I am also hoping to get to the park and get a fast pass for Soarin' before we go to lunch. I've never ate at Coral Reef for lunch, but I'm sure the menu's are similar. I heard though that they don't make the custom menu's anymore and that made me sad because dh would always suprise me with one with pictures of our past trips and of our wiener dog Zoey from home b/c he knows I'd be missing her. So sweet! So I'm sad to hear the menu's are no more. The past two years we've ate here we have been very lucky to sit next to the tank so I am hoping for that again this year. I remember not really caring last year that we ate here...it didn't seem to be up to par. Does anybody else feel this way? Hopefully its better this time around!
I'll finish the last few days tonight...I need to run to the store and try to go tanning too...while I'm not super white...I need to get a little tanner before disney...more so for the fact that we're going on the cruise afterwards...I don't want to burn in the bahamas. Even though I was pretty darn tan last year I still did burn a tiny bit...so I'm trying to ensure that dosen't happen. I only have a little bit of time...we're down to 13 days 20 hours 3 mins and 29 seconds. Lol. Gotta love my disney count down on my desktop!
I also have a special suprise announcement about our cruise so I'll announce that later on too!

I just LOVE Earl of Sandwhich!!

Hey~We have ADRs at Brown Derby on the 26th too. Ours our for 4:05! That pretty much puts us there at the same time. Plus, if you guys come to the Contemporary for the pin event, we might meet you there. Since we're staying there, we thought about checking out the pin event. Let me know what you think. We also have ADRs at Epcot for lunch on the 25th, so that might work too.......now I'm getting really excited!

Dh pointed out the fact that you guys were going to be at brown derby right at the same time as us...I hope we get seated by each other...that'd be cool...knowing my luck though it won't happen...your so cute! I'm super excited too! I've never met a dis friend before! I can be shy in person, but hopefully since we've been talking on here...I'll be fine. Hehe. I'm pretty much sure you can count us in for the pin event! Also we can exchange cell numbers via private message...so we can text/call if we can't find each other for some reason. Its dinner time, but I'm going to finish the itinery later on and tell the suprise about the cruise as well! Oh and my stuff I bought today for vacation. Hehe...13 days so excited!

I have never met a Dis friend either, but one of my best friends is from a mommy message board I started on while I was pregnant with Addy. We've met up several times. Don't worry, I'm kind of shy too. We'll definitely exchange cells before we leave......however, fair warning that ours didn't work too well the last time we were at Disney. If nothing else, when we check in to the Contemporary I'll make sure you know what room we're in.
I can't wait to hear about the surprise on the cruise........did you DH plan something cool again? I can't wait to see what you bought for your vacation. I think I'm going to try to work on our t-shirts this weekend. However, my friend and I are going to see Marley & Me tomorrow, so I probably won't get much done then :) .

I'm going to finish posting the itinerary now because I am getting sleepy. I had a migraine early and took my medicine which makes me sleepy so most likely I'll be going to bed around 9 or 9:30 for the third night in a row, which if you know me is very out of character...I am very much a night owl.
1/30- We have breakfast ADR's for 1900 Park Fare at 9:15 am. We had dinner there last year and I loved it! We got to meet both of the step sisters, Cinderella, the step mother and also one of the mice. I love suzie and perla...they are so adorable! Probably one of the reasons I named my kitty Perla. She did well at the vet yesterday by the way. She got a little bit mad, but they took her out of the room to give her the shot and trim her nails and she came back and seemed quite content once I put her in her carrier. And we gave her wet cat food as a treat for dinner so she was happy as a clam. Today is our last day at disney world and usually on the last day we park hop and do our faves or anything that we might of missed and also go back to buy anything that we might of wanted, but didn't get. We window shop a lot through out the trip to make sure there isn't something better we'll like better and then I just write down if I like something and where it was that way if I still want it then I just reference what I wrote and go get it. :thumbsup2 We also have adr's at California Grill at 5:50 pm. We've never ate here, but I've heard good things about it so I'm pretty excited to try it out!
1/31- We check out of AKL and take disney transportation to Port Canaveral to get on board the Disney Magic for our seven day cruise!!! We cruised the wonder in July so I am super excited not only to cruise again, but also to do the magic since we did the wonder last time since they both differ slightly.
Day one-we set sail...there is a castaway party, which is pretty cool...its basically introducing the cast members and mickey and minnie are there as well as some other friends and they sing and dance on the top deck. Nothing else major really happens this day since we debark.
Day two and day three- these are our at sea days.
Day four-We'll be at St. Croix...we've never been here, but I heard its awesome so i can't wait!
Day five-st. thomas/st. john...again never been here so we are very excited as we've heard good things!
Day six-At sea again today on our way to disneys private island Castaway Cay
Day seven- Today we're at Castaway Cay...we did the sting ray adventure in july on our honeymoon and I'm happy to say that although I was scared to do it last time I enjoyed myself so we are doing it again this time around! Before anyone freaks out...their barbs are manicured so they can't sting. Its a blast and I highly recommend it! I'm super excited to do it again!
Day eight-We wake up and we're back at port and have to get our sea legs back...this was hard on me last time after four days so I can't imagine after seven days. I kept feeling like the land was rocking like the boat did and when I looked down or up to fast I'd get slightly dizzy. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying. Our flight isn't until 7:30 this evening b/c they say not to schedule a flight before 1:00 due to the fact that you might not get through customs and what not in time to get back to the air port...the line is long once you debark the ship. We stood there for a bit in july, but it wasn't horrible.
Now my exciting news!!! DH kept texting me yesterday morning telling me to wake up because he had exciting news and to call him. So I did and he told me that our travel agent from Dreams Unlimited had emailed him to tell us we got a free upgrade on the ship!!! We did have a Category 6 and now we're a category 4!!! This dosen't really mean anything to anyone so let me explain. The category 6 is a deluxe stateroom with verandah. And the category 4 is a deluxe family stateroom with a verandah. Its basically just a little more room and a pull down bed either from the wall or ceiling for extra sleepers...obviously we don't need that. The room is slightly larger though than the other one so thats exciting to have a bit more room! Also the price difference is about $2,000 so thats pretty exciting! We're stoked! Thank you Disney Cruise Lines...you made us super happy campers!!! Gotta love a little Pixie dust! :wizard:
This afternoon I made a trip to Michaels and Target. At Michaels I got some disney stickers to decorate the envelopes for Mousekeeping while we are at Disney World. I'm going to make those this weekend hopefully and decorate them. And at target I got a few things...I'm not done getting everything, but I got the following:
~2 water cameras for the cruise (they are $10 at target and about 15-25 on the island...disney really socks it to ya...no offense I love you disney, but come on thats a rip!)
~a tiny first aid kit...we might not even take this, but I got it just in case and it was only 97 cents so what the heck
~a pop up hamper because we are going to have to do laundry at AKL to have clean clothes for the cruise. Since it folds down to nothing it'll take up hardly any room in our suitcase. Love these things! Never done laundry at disney, but we can't take clothes for two weeks b/c it'd mean extra luggage (for me at least) and extra luggage means extra money to the airlines and also less room in our stateroom on the cruise.
~markers to decorate the mouse keeping envelopes too!
Like I said I didn't buy much, but the fact that I already bought some stuff got me excited! I will admit I didn't tan. My migraine threw me off today and made me feel blah so I wasn't in the mood to go tan...sometimes the heat makes things worse. I have plans to go tomorrow though. I am also going to Kohls to see if I can find a outfit for semi- formal night on the ship! Wish me luck!

I hope that you feel better soon......I have migraines (well, that's what they were until recently........now we've found they've probably been masking another issue) so I know how rotten they are.
How excited that you got an upgrade on the ship. Maybe DH and I's next vacation will be a cruise. He really wants to take one, but he also can't swim, and we're both a little worried that he'll get out in the middle of the ocean and he'll freak out because he can't see any land :scared1: . That actually happened to him once when he was driving across one of the really long bridges in New Orleans.........he called me because he was pretty freaked out.
I hope you find something cute at Kohl's..........I so wish we had one close to us. I find so many cute things for the girls there. Unfortunately, the closest one is 3 hours away :sad1: .

Thanks...it went away pretty quickly b/c I try to take something as soon as I feel them coming on...I hate migraines! My mom passed hers on to me...of all the things a mother can pass on...and I get her sinus issues and tendency towards migraines. I still love her more than anything though! Aww i'm sorry you live so far away from kohls...there is always kohls online though hehe. Not to be an enabler...I am pretty good at that though. I fell asleep for about two hours and now I can't fall back asleep...how aggravating. And dh was being a wiggle worm in bed so I got up to come sit in the living room and check my email and stuff. Hopefully I'll get sleepy soon since its one am. I hate it when he is restless and wiggles and I already can't sleep. Sometimes at disney I sleep in the other bed so I can avoid that since we are both super tired from being in the parks and I want to be able to get a good nights rest. It did bother me a little bit that I couldn't see land, but the full moon lighting up the ocean was amazing! So that made up for it. What freaked me out most was when we debarked the first day and I didn't know we were moving then I looked out our sliding door to the verandah and land is moving by us...that caught me off guard. Going to try to go back to bed. :thumbsup2

WOW...sounds like you're going to have an awesome time. I haven't been to WDW in 14 years..but my DW and I are going in June to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and VERY, VERY belated honeymoon. Long story that I won't go into here.
But I hope you have a wonderful MAGICAL time at WDW and the cruise :)

Oh Congrats on the upgrade!! I have done ONE Disney Cruise and we had a verandah too. I wouldn't do it any other way, you are going to LOVE it!! My tip for you...if you drink, don't do it a the Castaway party, lol. I had a few too many and the boat rocking made me so sea sick!! Ha Ha. Have a great time, everything sounds wonderful.

Thank you...yea we had the verandah in July for our disneymoon so I wouldn't have it any other way either. I'm not a huge drinker, but thanks for the info! I had maybe two drinks on the ship in july and both were to strong...dh told them to make the drinks weak and took them back twice to get watered down and they were still to strong. Lol. I don't like to taste my booze. Not to mention since I am not a big drinker if its not weak then I get really tired fast. So sad, but so true. Thanks for following along! :goodvibes

I was just rereading my intro and realized I said we were staying at CSR. Well thats because we were originally. Remember when I said dh likes to suprise me? Well when we were home for Christmas our disney paper work came!!! Loving getting those magical express tickets in the mail hehe. Means the trip is close! Well I was looking through our book of info and dh takes it away from me...then decides he'll let me look at it and see if I notice. I start looking and it takes me a few minutes, but then I see AKL savannah view!!!! He had been working with the travel agent to see if he could find the 4/3 deal at AKL and he did so we are staying there and I get to see my beloved giraffes. I can't believe I totally forgot to put that in here. And if I did put it in here and I am repeating myself sorry about that! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2
I know exactly what you mean..........I was up until about 3 am last night. DH snores, and that doesn't really help me sleep. When we were in Disney, there were a couple of nights that I slept with Anna. Unfortunately, I kept waking up because I was getting kicked in the head  . She twists and turns all over the place when she's sleeping.
I do shop at Kohls online sometimes, but I really prefer to shop at the store because you can look at things instead of just seeing them on the screen. I already told DH that we have to stop at the one on the way to KC when we go. I'm hoping they'll have the Easter dresses out so that I can pick something up for the girls.

I feel ya on the snoring, but that is a thing of the past for me fortunately. Dh was getting so darn tired that he'd fall asleep at his desk so finally after me wearing him down he made an appointment to go see a dr to get refered to a sleep study. My mom is a nurse and figured that he had sleep apnea b/c I'd tell her that he would snore so freakin' loud and then he'd stop breathing and I'd hit him to wake him up(not like abuse hitting, but just enough to nudge him awake) Didn't want to sound like I beat my husband haha. She pinned it on the nose too. He did the sleep study and they fit him for a mask and about a week later he got his mask and now no more snoring! Thank God because some nights I'd end up on the couch it was so bad. The machine is no louder than the fan we have on at night anyways and dosen't bother me at all. The only thing that bothers me is when he opens his mouth the machine makes a certain noise...its hard to explain, but its a little louder than the machine itself and sometimes it scares me if i'm almost asleep. I'm not saying thats what your hubby has, but I just thought I'd share my story. Once dh got it...he said it made all the world of difference. Now he is just mentally tired from work instead of physically tired all the time. I know what you mean about online shopping...it just isn't the same, but sometimes if you really want to shop its better than nothing. Awww...easter dresses...makes me wish I had a little girl! So adorable! I hope they have some out when you go! I just found out my cousin is having another girl so I am super excited to shop for her! I spoiled her first baby...my best friend has a little boy and she jokes and says most of his wardrobe is from me and that whenever I dress him I always dress him preppy, which I do. And I did buy him and awful lot when he was first born, but he is so adorable and she is my best friend so I can't help myself! When I am in the baby section at any store I get in the zone. Hehe. Sometimes it gives me baby fever too, which is bad since I know I really don't want one yet. Also I can relate to the getting kicked b/c I used to sleep with my sister when we were younger on camping trips and she was a kicker too. And I bruise easily. So that was tons of fun. :rotfl:

This evening while I was upstairs in the loft cleaning and reorganizing my scrapbook stuff for the zillionth time (this time I got smart and organized all my stickers by theme so I think this is the last time...at least until we move...I hate moving and reorganizing it all again! )...anyways while I was up there dh was working on signs for our door on the ship. Last time we had pretty cute ones that he made...I'll try to dig up a few pics of them. We still haven't look at designs for shirts, but I told him we need to do it before bed tonight or first thing in the morning so we can get the stuff to make them while we are out and about tomorrow. I haven't made the envelopes yet either, but I have everything together to make them.
I went to A.C moore today and bought some scrapbook stuff (as if I needed more, but it wasn't a lot...and I couldn't help myself....if your into scrapbooking them I'm sure you understand.) Not to mention I told myself it was my treat to myself for getting so much done this week around the apartment. :thumbsup2 I also went to kohls and tanning. I ended up finding a very cute shirt for semi formal night on the cruise! The down side is I have to find pants now. Dh and I are going to look for them tomorrow...I hate shopping for jeans, pants and shorts. I have long legs, big hips and no butt, which makes it next to impossible to find something that fits decent. If he gets the signs done tomorrow I'll have him take some pics so I can post them. Till then here are the pics from our july trip and also a few engagement pics that I promised!

My ring is two pieces, but dh gave me both pieces when he proposed b/c he said it was to beautiful and you don't keep something that beautiful in a box so I wore both pieces the whole time we were engaged. Its a princess cut diamond turned on its side, which is called a compass setting and its set in platinum...the whole ring is a little over two carats. I actually picked out a smaller center diamond, but got surprised with the bigger one...I remember he was kind of sad that I didn't notice it was bigger...give me a break you just flipped my world upside down in the best way possible! :thumbsup2
And here is the slipper it came in...on one side it says will you be my princess? Then the other side it says the date he proposed and inside it says matt and ashley.

I'm not sure if Dh is done playing and making door signs or if he is going to mess with these some more, but I'll post the pics he put up on flickr last night of the signs he made. He has a degree in graphic design and commercial art so he was having a blast working on these signs! Yet...he is working as an field office manager for the pipeline hehe. He really did try to find a graphic design job, but there was none to be had at the time he was looking and then the job offer came for the job he has currently and it was way to good to pass up! Here are the signs...enjoy! Also has anyone stayed at akl and put signs on the door? I wanted to know what people use to attach them there because the doors are wood. If anyone could let me know I'd be grateful!

Today DH and I ran some errands and while we were out and about we got our door signs printed and laminated. They look really good! We just need to stick the magnets on the back now so they'll stick to our door on the ship!
I found another shirt to wear on the cruise, which I think I am going to wear on semi formal night instead of the one I got yesterday because its black and I got black pants to(after searching in about three different stores for pants...have I mentioned how much I hate buying pants of any kind and shorts...ugg! ) So now all I have to do is decide what jewerly I am going to wear with the three outfits and order my shoes as well(i have big feet so I have to order them online b/c I can't find shoes in the stores to fit me.) Another thing I hate to look for! I'm happy to say that I've already found two cute pairs though so all we have to do is order them!
I read somewhere on the dis that it is not suppose to be very warm in disney the first full day we're there (jan 24th.) Eeekk....I'm hoping for at least 60's...that'll work for me just fine since most of the winter we've had anywhere from 35 all the way to almost 70 degrees here in Va. I always take layers with me though and before I pack we'll know better what the weather will look like so that'll help weed out unnecessary clothing items. Heres hoping for some warm weather! :goodvibes :thumbsup2
I don't think I have anything else to report. I need to go back up to the loft and finish my organizing project...its almost done! I plan on doing some scrapping this week since everything is all organized now! So excited! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! :goodvibes

I love the signs..........they look great! I'm really hoping that it's warm while we're in Disney. It's been gorgeous here late.....it's almost 60 today. I'm packing a couple of Disney sweatshirts to wear over my t-shirts, and I'll take a jacket along just in case.
I am hoping to get all the t-shirts done this week. I'll post pics when I get them done. As for which disigns I use, I just went to the DISign thread on here and searched for thread that were for whatever particular thing I wanted. The customized families/stick families are my favorites as are the Mickey ears with a character next to them. We have one of those with Beauty and the Beast (at Anna's request :)).

We had kellybell do some names for us and we used Tracie for our stick family. Both of them have their own threads.....let me see if I can link them.

I can't remember who did our mickey ears, but you can start a thread over there asking someone to do them for you. Sometimes you get lots of responses, but sometimes not so much. Everyone on that thread is very helpful. Maybe one of them could at least point you in the right direction.

So, today I decided to get myself out of the apartment and go tanning. I also tanned on saturday. I have okay color, but I think if I keep going every other day or so until the trip that I'll have decent color and hopefully won't burn. While I was out I stopped by the mall (I know we were there yesterday, but I didn't want to bra shop with DH b/c I was already traumatized from pants shopping...and bra shopping is right up there...don't really care for it.) So, I went to Victoria Secret today and got a strapless bra, which I needed for my dress for formal night on the cruise. I also got a pair of shorts that were on clearance for $12.99. I figured for that cheap why not and I'll have something to wear over my suit to walk around on Castaway Cay or if we go up to the pool on the ship(which we didn't last time, but hoping to this time...there is a adults only pool so thats awesome!) I also got a make up bag that is one big bag, but it had two other smaller ones...it was 32 bucks, but it was marked down to 19...thank you for the deals Victoria secret! Well...two good deals at least...the other two items weren't a deal at all, but thats the breaks. :upsidedow
This evening while dh was making dinner I decorated the mouse keeping envelopes. Dh is going to take a picture and hopefully I'll post it tonight...if not tomorrow for sure I'll post a picture of the envelopes. They are super cute!
I finished organizing my scrapbook area in the loft last night! I am super excited to start back to scrapbooking this week! Not like I have much else to do besides the treadmill and tanning b/c dh dosen't need me at work right now since its pretty slow due to them just basically cleaning up the sites they were working at before christmas.
Hopefully I'll be back with pictures later...if not I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday!!!

Okay...this evening we have been checking stuff off the mini list we have. We've ordered my shoes to go with my outfits for formal and semi formal night on the cruise. Also ordered my make up....I bought make up while I was home for Christmas and the girl forgot to include the eye shadow so I had to buy that. We are thinking we might visit the new tee shirt shop in downtown disney the first night and have a few shirts made up instead of making our own due to us starting to run out of time and blah blah. We'll see what happens though. Its still not totally out of the question. I have some pictures of our envelopes and also of my scrapbooking area in the loft in the midst of my organizing it...so its not pretty, but I'm happy to save everything has a home now and is all neat and tidy! Although dh didn't take a picture of that b/c thats not embarrassing. Haha. Enjoy!

Yay!!! I'll head over and check them out in a few! I think we're going to be packing this weekend b/c monday I'm cleaning the apartment, tuesday I am getting a haircut and weds I am getting a mani/pedi and thursday dh dosen't have to work unless something horribly wrong happens, but he already told them he dosen't want to be there if he dosen't have to be and they were fine by it. We have to drop perla off at the boarding place and then probably head to richmond. Although we have a afternoon flight we don't want to be worried about traffic or anything b/c its about a two hour drive so we are staying in a hotel by the airport and will just get up and park our car and go through security. Dh was fussing with shirt designs tonight...that he was working on himself...we'll see if the shirt thing happens or not. If not...like I said he told me he'd go to the shirt shop in downtown disney and make us some. I hate the time right before the trip....it makes me super stressed. Monday is last call for laundry....if it dosen't make it to the washer/dryer monday...it dosen't get washed and your s.o.l I'm not doing laundry up until the last possible second. I've been trying to wear stuff I know I don't want to take with me. I'm getting so excited!

I got my haircut today, and I think that DH is going to get one this weekend. I always get stressed about leaving something behind too.....I just hope that it's nothing important and is something that I can pick up in the hotel. I usually have a list too. Your ahead of the game...I'm waiting on the hair cut b/c my bangs grow super fast and I want them to be short enough for the whole two weeks...they grow like a gosh darn weed once I cut them. Dh needs to get a hair cut too! He wants me to go pick him out two ties for formal and semi formal night, but I don't want to b/c how the heck do I know what kind of tie he wants? I hate it when he sends me to pick something out that I have no idea what he wants. Like binoculars...there are like ten zillion different kinds...I put my foot down and said...will you please pick out the binoculars yourself b/c how the heck do I know what exactly he wants in a pair? And what is he going to do if he dosen't like the ties I pick? Uggg. I'm going to kohls tomorrow so I'll look, but I make no promises. At least with 60/70's we don't have to worry about frizzy hair...not that its a major concern, but that can be kind of annoying sometimes. :thumbsup2

So, this evening dh called his mom and she said that our cruise paper work came in the mail (that is our mailing address for some reason so thats why it got sent there. I'm not sure why dh didn't change it?) Well dh wanted his mom to drop it off at his dads office tomorrow to have it over nighted to dh's office, but she is saying she dosen't want to go out tomorrow b/c the roads were bad today b/c ohio is having a lot of snow and blah blah. I told dh...its 6:30 right now...by tomorrow at nine am or so maybe the roads will be cleared? I am not trying to bad talk her, but I just don't think she should say that she can't take it tomorrow when it was only 6:30 this evening and maybe the salt trucks would be out tonight and what not. I was also cranky ( low blood sugar) so that probably had a part in my getting annoyed with her thinking. So hopefully we can get our hands on that and make sure everything is all set to go.
I tanned again today...I'm starting to get decent color...poor dh is going to need so much sunscreen so he dosen't burn at castaway cay! Don't worry I'll wear sunscreen too just to ensure I don't burn, but that sun is mean and still has a tendency to burn ya.
My shoes came today for formal and semi formal night and they fit decent, which is good. Its also good that I can walk in them! Lol. I'm tall so I never saw a need to wear heels, but the one pair of shoes I got is a pair of heels...they aren't high, but they are high enough...I can walk fine in them though. I think tomorrow evening we are going to get out the suitcases and start gathering stuff that can be packed and hopefully this weekend the bulk of the packing will be done. That would be wonderful!
Tomorrow I am planning on scrapbooking for a lot of the day...that and doing laundry. I am going to be scrapping pics from our dec disney 07' trip. Hurray! Don't get me started on the 06' pics...those aren't printed so obviously they aren't scrapped and I'm not sure why we printed 07' before 06', but we just did so thats what I'm going to work on! I'll try to post pics...don't be to judgmental...I'm still perfecting my scrapping. I think thats all for now. Oh yes, I decided that while we are in disney this time around instead of trying to go from memory I am going to write notes for our trip report and while we are on our cruise I am going to start typing up the trip report in microsoft word. Maybe I'll even post an installment or two from the ship...we'll see. I make no promises, but I'll def post when we're back on land and home safe and sound for sure! :thumbsup2

Okay ladies and gents...we're getting down to the wire. All the laundry is done and or drying as of this evening. So everything that needs to go to disney is already packed or is drying and will be packed tomorrow! I'm about 95 percent packed and dh is...well I do believe he is about 99 percent packed...meaning basically he needs to throw his toiletries in the suitcase and he'll be in business!
We did end up deciding to make our own tee shirts...since our vacation has two parts (disney world then the cruise) we are having part one and part two tee's and when one of us wears the part one the other will wear the part two and vise versa. We went to Michaels this afternoon and ended up buying shirts there as well as the transfers since the shirts were on sale for like two bucks a piece this week! We hit that just right didn't we?! I got white and dark pink (pink is my fave color!) And he got white and black. He said he is going to do iron on the transfers tomorrow evening after work so hopefully I'll have pictures tomorrow night for ya'll! This is so exciting we've never made shirts before! We're also going to make a shirt the first night at Downtown disney and have them delivered to our resort room (dh read somewhere on the dis that you could do that so thats nifty.)
Dh got his haircut today...he was starting to look like a sheep dog so its a good thing! I'm getting mine cut tuesday and I've been tanning religiously every other day so hopefully I won't burn to bad in the bahamas. I'm also getting a mani/pedi on weds...basically just to relax a little since packing and all that stresses me out a bit. I mean who dosen't stress and why not pamper yourself a little before you go? A pre relax if you will. Lol.
Also on the disney front I am proud to say that I have scrapbooked seven pages from our December 2007 trip this week! I did four the other day and three tonight! So I'm pretty excited! I also am hoping to take pictures of those tomorrow as I will post them. I am especially super proud of the one page I did tonight...its so cute! :thumbsup2
I think that will do it for now...I am super excited!!! We have 4 days 11 hours 11 mins and 47 seconds! :cool1:
Also I've heard that the weather is going to be in the 60's and 70's and there is only one day where there is a chance of the R word so thats excellent as well since its been a little chilly here in Va!
I'll be back tomorrow night hopefully with some pics as promised! :thumbsup2

At least I'm working on it though right? Thats all that matters! Oh I forgot to tell you the mia tank top turned up! My one drawer wasn't shutting all the way and dh pulled it out and there was my tank top...I filled the one drawer to much and it had got caught and fell behind the drawer so yay! :thumbsup2 Did you have a good weekend?

We did have a good weekend. Saturday DH and I went out for my birthday, and that was a lot of fun. We were going to go see a movie, but we decided against it because it was pretty late. How about you? What did you guys do?
I agree, you're working on your scrapbooks, and that's all the matters. I picked up an 8x8 Disney album that I'm going to make DH for our anniversary as a surprise. I made him one several years ago for Valentine's Day, and he still talks about it, so I hope he'll like this one just as much.
I'm so glad to hear that you found your tanktop! I've done things like that too.

We had a good weekend...saturday dh got off work early, which hardly ever happens b/c he is like his father and dosen't know how to leave the office and it drives me insane! So we had dinner and hung out and relaxed and sunday we went to get the oil changed in both our cars, ran to michaels to get those tee shirt transfers and he let me get some organization stuff for my scrapbook paper b/c I have a ton and it needs to be organized b/c it drives me nuts to have to flip through it until I finally find what I want...it takes a lot of time. He got a hair cut while I tanned and then we came home and made what was call linner (lunch/dinner b/c it was like 4:30) and he helped me scrap for a bit too before he went to bed. He helped more with the layout...I just execute the whole thing. :) I made a small book for dh one year for valentines day too and he loved it...it was when he was working in duluth, mn and I didn't get to see him hardly at all. I wonder where that went to? I'm sure its in our storage unit. It was so gosh darn cute!

My DH is the same way........he is an ingrained workaholic. It makes me crazy sometimes, but I just tell myself that I know I'll never have to worry about him providing for our kids because he works as hard as he has to.
I'm trying to convince DH that he needs to make an appointment to get his hair cut, but he wants to just do a walk in. I keep reminding him tha that the last 3 times he's done that he left without a haircut, but you know how men are  .
Will you send me your cell number so that I have it? I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to check around here before we leave tomorrow because I have a few last minute things that I need to get taken care of.
I just checked the weather, and it doesn't look like we should have any weather delays with our flight :) . Aside from Wednesday, it looks like it should be pretty nice the whole week that we're in Florida. Sunday and Monday have a chance of rain, but it's only 30%. As long as it doesn't rain on our Fantasmic night, I don't care.

Okay, I'm back with pictures as I promised! We made our shirts tonight and dh made one of his shirts first, but for some reason when he pulled up the transfer the picture didn't stay...only the outline...the rest of the shirts are fine, but his white shirt has some ink on it in the corner it looks like...I'm not sure what it is, but we tried to get it off and it didn't work. Oh well...they still look pretty good for our first time doing them. If anyone knows what happened with that first shirt...let me know. I'm curious! Here are the pics!
