Hi Mel. Honestly, I am open to suggestions as to what designs. However, the best thing (which I haven't seen on the thread) would be characters from JoJo's Circus. My daughter is the biggest fan of JoJo and can not wait to see her on the Thursday activity. I have actually sent in a request to Disney to see if there were any additional times we could see her. She also likes Nemo and Princesses. Anything you can do would be amazing I'm sure. Her name is Elizabeth. The family name is Adams (yes, the Adams Family):rolleyes1
Together my husband and I are in one stateroom and my daughter and my MIL (Grandma Marci) are in the other room. Thanks again in advance for any help. You are amazing!:cheer2:

This first one, can you remove Princess? Only because (and I know you didn't know this), but JoJo isn't really associated with a princess :) I love it though!

You go to Walmart ,Michaels and get Transfer paper for t-shirts,,Amy (MICKEY) sells transfer paper--I have been told her's are the BEST ,,I'm sure someone has her link --I'll try to post it later,,,anyhow you just print the image using these papers,,(of course follow the directions --which I tend to do after I goof up)and iron on the t-shirt,,,there is a thread here that explains it all.
Hope that helps --I have made my own t-shirts but I've not been happy with how they wash so next time I'm ordering Amy's.

We Are Cruising the Magic Again! (Or something similar. It's our second Western Caribbean cruise and the sail date is my 32nd birthday.)

May 16, 2009 (date in Mickey ear design if possible)

I'd like the front of the shirts to have little portholes (that complement the large one on the back) with something along the lines of....

I used a lot of designs/with iron ons to do shirts - never thought of a FE. I can't sew, but a co-worker can and offered to sew one if I could show her a pic. But I couldn't think of how she could put characters on it - so I bought one off ebay. I sure like the iron on one better - but it never even crossed my mind.

Heck I'm using designs on cling paper to decorate our golf cart this November (staying at FW). But still didn't think of a FE. Very clever/creative.

Ok

This is Mel's simple make a door magnet instruction

Step one find the image you want

Step two right click save image

Step three print the image--regular computer paper

some laminate there door magnet signs for souvenirs or future use

step four --adhere small pieces of magnetic tape to back of the
DISign

Step 5 ENJOY!!!

Some people use a special magnetic computer paper--although I'm not sure of the cost of this--staples and office stores have this kind of paper.

Hope this helps----me I just use my butterfly magnets from my fridge to hold the pictures in place.

I'm back!!! I have had some computer issues, house issues, but we had a great Spring Break. We made it thru Christopher's birthday party and Easter. Tomorrow is the Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet. Just printed off some of the candy bag toppers you made for me. It looks like I have alot of catching up to do. You have been very busy since I was last on. I owe you so many photos...I just downloaded all the photos from my Hubby's laptop to my computer. So, now I have the photos to post on your other thread. Thank you for thinking of us in your Disigns.it really means alot to me. I'll have to go back to prior pages and look at all your new Disigns. loving all your designs, i was wondering if you could help me out? i need a cruise themed design, it needs to be in landscape orientation, about twice as wide as it is tall. i'm not having much luck finding an image that would work. i'm trying to make labels for a fish extender gift, but i cant find a good image to use.

hiya mel!
loving all your designs, i was wondering if you could help me out? i need a cruise themed design, it needs to be in landscape orientation, about twice as wide as it is tall. i'm not having much luck finding an image that would work. i'm trying to make labels for a fish extender gift, but i cant find a good image to use.
anything would be great, cruise themed preferably, dont mind which, if any, characters.
i hope you can help :)

I keep going round and round with this one. But this is what I think I am going to do. I had a sign made that says surprise your going on a disney cruise. I am going to take the day off on the friday the day we leave to do all the packing while he is at school. Then when he gets off the bus I am going to have the car packed up and ready to head to the airport. I am going to tell him I have an early b-day present for him and in the box will be cruise related stuff And then I will give him the sign and tape his reaction on my camcorder. It really doesnt sound like too much but it will shock him that we are going right then. Still working on it.. BUt soooo excited:woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Mel you are too sweet. You are a big part of our trip as well. you have shared and will continue to share your pixie dust with my family. The door signs you have made along with other disigners will also be a surprise for him. Each one will be a gift to him from you. He will be so excited to see what other people did for him to make his trip Magical.

I am a single mom so I am very close to my son as it is he and I a lot of the time. I hope and pray to spend many more vacations with him. Till he is too cool to hang out with me.:lmao:

Ok

This is Mel's simple make a door magnet instruction

Step one find the image you want

Step two right click save image

Step three print the image--regular computer paper

some laminate there door magnet signs for souvenirs or future use

step four --adhere small pieces of magnetic tape to back of the
DISign

Step 5 ENJOY!!!

Some people use a special magnetic computer paper--although I'm not sure of the cost of this--staples and office stores have this kind of paper.

Hope this helps----me I just use my butterfly magnets from my fridge to hold the pictures in place.

Mel, I check your thread at least once a day to see what new things you've made. Even if they aren't for me, I just love seeing them. Well, today my DD Maddie was here as I was looking - and she has asked if I can make her a shirt like this for when we go "On Mickey Mouses' boat". Our cruise is a very long time away, so no rush at all - but when you get time, if you could make me a Mickie and a Maddie of this we would be grateful. :) I'm no where near ready to make shirts for our cruise, (not even done making shirts for our 2009 WDW trip yet) but I can save it in our cruise folder for them.

Maddie is standing here as I type saying "tell her it is so pretty", so I'm telling you. . .it's so pretty!

I've ordered my transfers and am getting ready to get these on T-shirts! (Yeah!) I was wondering though, can the "water" be placed into these as a background (like the porthole water design on the back of our shirts)? That would help them to "show up" better on the t-shirts! (I ordered white and light pink shirts for us which should arrive early next week.) If not, then no problems!

Hi I love your work! I have been sitting here over an hour looking through the pages. I could really use your help if you are still taking requests. I am trying to make my family t shirts and door magnets for our upcoming cruise. Needless to say I am having a really hard time. If at all possible could you please help. I've ordered my transfers and am getting ready to get these on T-shirts! (Yeah!) I was wondering though, can the "water" be placed into these as a background (like the porthole water design on the back of our shirts)? That would help them to "show up" better on the t-shirts! (I ordered white and light pink shirts for us which should arrive early next week.) If not, then no problems!

In order to remove the "Sharon" I'd have to remove part of the image of the pirate hat,,I found the pirate hat and will redo the DISign this weekend.

the only thing I take offense to is to whoever told you that "all you do is put a few images together". Sweetheart you do much more than that, you bring smiles to all of us you create for, you make us feel special and give us lasting keepsakes of our vacations that we have planned for months and months.

Personalizing blanks is not an easy process, I know alot of designers "say here go for it"- I've tried to just add my names or dates- it ruins the image if not done properly.
I will display your creations on my door proudly as well as wear the t-shirts you and others have designed for me- and when asked where I got them or how I made them- the answer has always been: from my "friends" on the creative dis boards- you should check out there site.

I have 10 T-Shirts (times 2 one for each of us) and tons of magnets. Still going to make a couple more shirts. We will wear these shirts proudly. I think it is on page 8 and it says Cruising Disney Style. I would love that design with Valdez family vacation 2009 and another to say Cantu family vacation 2009. You have got me hooked! A question for those who have made shirts. I bought the t-shirt transfer paper at Walmart (Avery brand). I followed the directions and the shirt looked great....until....I washed it.

Should I use a different brand of transfer paper? Is there a secret I didn't know about? :confused3 Please help, I don't want my cute DISigns ruined.

I think I used Avery last year. They did okay, as long as you didn't run the shirt through the dryer. Wash the shirts inside out, and hang to dry. It will help the pics last a little longer. Also use detergents that do not have bleach or bleach alternatives - those are not good for them.

There is a designer on this board named Amy_M I C K E Y. She sells iron ons. I tried hers this year. I've not washed them yet, so can't say first hand how they will hold up. However, others have shared that they hold up much better than the store bought iron ons.
