So I think I have this right: book 4 nights in a WDW resort get three nights free PLUS your passes? Book by Jan 28 I think? That sounds good to me. We would use mid Feb to early March.

Also is $39 per person meal plan a day a good idea if staying on site as well?

Thanks and sorry if this has been discussed "ad naseum" already...!:)

There are six of us at a 2BR at SSR for seven nights starting 5/16 with this promotion, it was a substantial savings from what we usually spend.

Can't help with the dining plan, we have never used it.

Book by January 24th. I think the dining plan is a good deal. I don't think it's good for kids who are picky eaters and don't eat much.

We booked for March and included the DDP, We usually have 1 sit down or character buffet meal a day so it makes it a value for us. I also like that we have the meals pre-paid. We will also get the gift card which I will use on tips and any extras. I shouldnt have to carry much cash at all for this trip.

We're booked for our first visit - FINALLY!!

I'm kind of upset, we weren't able to get ASMo, and instead got Sports for the same special rate. I guess ASMo was sold out.

Someone please assure me that All Star Sports is a good choice......

DH and I are booked at AKL Jan 20-27 (just 2 weeks away!).

To the OP: Just DH and myself (no kids), and we never do the DDP. Last trip we put all the food on our room key so we could see just how much we spend on food. It averaged out to a little less than $50/day--for both of us. This included a lot of TS meals, including 2 at Jiko (which would've used up 8 TS credits). I guess we don't order a lot of expensive entrees.

At any rate, you have to read through menus, see where you'd be eating, take a guess at what you'd be eating, and see if the DDP would be a good deal for you. A lot of people swear by it. For us, it doesn't add up.

We booked twice!

February 10-17 Grand Floridian garden view w/DDP. We have two rooms booked because my in-laws are coming with us.

June 20-27 Grand Floridian SL CL no DDP (just using our Tables in Wonderland card). We're also booked June 27-July 5 at the Beach Club w/DDP - I'm really hoping the extend the 7/4 to that time frame also.

We are booked for June for the 4/3 and have chosen the dining plan. We like to do a sit down meal or character meal at least once per day so the DDP made sense to us. I just compared it to where we ate during our last visit and what we would pay. There's definitely a savings there.:)

We'd already booked an 8 night trip for the marathon (this sunday!), but we were able to use the 4/3 promo, which saved us over $500, plus the $200 gift card! I'm sure that's not the audience Disney was targeting, but oh well! Saving that $500 gave me a lot more breathing room for our trip (and Christmas!).

We're getting the meal plan because DH wants it. In the end, he's probably right, since it'll save me from fretting over the cost of meals, since it's already paid for and I don't even have to think about it!

To answer the OP, when you buy 4 nights and 4 days of passes, you get 3 more of each. So we're doing 7 nights at CBR and 7 days of park passes in late April, for a little over $1600. (2 Adults, 2 Children).

I very much AM the audience Disney was targeting b/c we otherwise would not be going this year. But the great deal hasn't pushed me into the Deluxe realm (although I'll continue mulling that idea until I am on the plane!)

Booked 2/28-3/7 CBR w/ DDP. We saved about $600.

I have 8 CM's scheduled at a cost of about $100 a meal w/ tip. We would spend about $700-$800 on one meal a day for the duration of our trip. We are not big eaters but we find the DDP to be the best for us. If we were not doing the CM's we would not get the DDP. We are spendning about $600 on the meal plan. Everyone is different so check out the menus and price it out. The one thing that I can say is DEFINETLY worth the money is the refillable mugs if you are a coffee person.

Good Luck with your planning.

We are booked at POR first week of Feb and we did buy the Counter Service plan since we need to eat anyways so we may as well save a bit! ;)

Saving money on the dining plan will greatly depend on your eating habits.

We are a family of five, eat very little (tend to share conuter service meals between 2 people). We can eat 3 meals per day, plus snacks, for less than the cost of the counter service meal plan. The meal plan for us would cost $1050 for 7 nights, we eat, as described above, for about $840 for the week.

ETA: We are booked for the 4/3 deal, POR, Mar 15-22.

I actually booked it twice!

Staying at POP 3/19-3/25 (6 nights so buy 4 get 2 free)
and then AKL from 3/25 -4/1 (buy 4 get 3)...

both with dining plan as it makes sense for us, we have at least one character meal per day, sometimes two! Even with the dining plan I typically end up paying for one breakfast TS OOP.

We also use all the CS's meals and the snacks. so in the long run it saves me money.

PLUS we're getting 2 $200 gift cards!

We're Booked May 3-9 at YC! First time with kids. Actually only 4/2 but still save $800. We took the DDP because DS#1 eats like a horse and he is a foodie. Don't want to have to tell him that he can't order the steak - it's going to be hard enough saying no appetizers. This way he can eat what he wants and I don't have to fret.

We are booked for the last week in June and we are on the regular dining plan. It is very worth it for us because we like to take a time out for a nice sit down meal...my son is still on the kids plan so it does make it worth it for us right now. My son wants to stay at Pop and I am used to moderates. I hope we are going to like it! I'm sure we will!

We'll be at POR Feb. 1-8 thanks to the 4/3! We orignally booked Pop but decided to upgrade to a moderate and POR was the only one available at the time. We also got the quick service dining plan- I'm trying to be more go-with-the-flow this trip so no ADRs to make this time! :) And thanks to the military discounts just announced, we might be heading back later in the year with my dad (retired Army), mom, and brother.

We don't do the dining plan - we wouldn't eat that many TS meals. We thought about trying the quick service dining plan, but we can eat cheaper than what the cost per day is. My 2 daughters and I eat breakfast in the room (Pop Tarts, bagles, etc) but my husband doesn't. Also I have been known to eat off of the kids menu at counter service restaurants (sshhh...)
I can't stand to eat alot in the Florida humidity).

We are booked at POP from May 31 - June 6 with Park Hoppers and the Deluxe Dining Plan. We saved a lot of money with the 4/3 promotion.

We love the idea that the food (and the entire trip) will be paid off before we get there. We are foodies, so the DDP makes sense to us. We know that we won't be happy eating on a budget, so we are more than happy to pay up front and enjoy the benefits when we arrive.

We were booked for spring break and changed it to presidents week on the promo. Saved a little $1000 by making that change and even more with the better flights we were able to get!

Sadly it still didn't make OKW 2 bedroom villa's affordable enough but we are excited about the FW cabins for our group of 6 as there are very very few options for a family our size and a full kitchen was a requirement. Lots if you are 5 people...but not 6. Grr.

We are doing the DDP. The savings paid for it entirely and we are a sit down table service dinner group so it makes sense for us.

Coming in kind of late to this thread but newbie to the boards AND to Disney planning. We booked 4/3 last week for June 21-28 with PH and DDP. We have looked at Disney over the past couple of years and I've been DYING to take the kids on their first Disney adventure. I just couldn't justify it until now. When I found out about this deal, we couldn't pass it up.

DS will be 8 at the time of trip and DD6. I don't remember much before age 4 or 5; neither does DH, so hopefully this will be a trip that makes lifetime memories for them.

We aren't using the dining plan as we aren't going to be eating in any of the sit-down restaurants except the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The rest of the time we'll utilize the food court at our resort, and counter service or carts while we're in the parks.
