Just wanted to post this here, there are several threads on the Trip discussion boards, but just thought I'd mention it here too.
It brought my 16 night stay at POP Century in August down to $943.80. :cheer2: I saved about $600. I've seen others mention its good on Deluxe properties too.
The qualifications are the same as for the Military tix promotion that just came out.

Does anyone happen to know if a military spouse could take advantage of this hotel offer without the active duty military member present? I have a military dependent ID....
We have a "girls" trip planned for March and have a current reservation at the Contemporary with the 4/3 deal, but we could save some $$$ using this deal along with the companion passes (since I can purchase those without my DH).
This trip is a vacation for ME from DH's deployment last year. He was gone for 9 months to Iraq and it's MY time off. :dance3:

I just booked our POR stay for 7 nights the end of June using the military 40% off rate and I'm the spouse. The CM didn't even ask if the service member would be there; just gave me the rate. So, I guess they'll check when we get there? It should be for spouses too...

I have a few questions about this, just want to be sure on some stuff. First, I hope I'm reading it correctly, but on this rate and for the Military ticket promotion they are doing right now, do you have to be active duty(as in overseas) or does it just mean you had to be active in the military this past year?:confused3
Plus do you have to make these ressies with this rate over the phone or can it be done online?
Thanks and hope this all made sense, just don't want to seem or feel stupid if I go to make ressies! ;)

You do not have to be stationed overseas to be able to get the promotion. You only need to be "active" duty in the military. You do need to call and ask for the MYV code. Good luck! :goodvibes

I'm not sure if a dependent can reserve a room, but I'd call and ask because I would think that they could. But I do know that you can also be retired military, not just active duty, to qualify for the discounted room. I reserved one this morning at the GF. :goodvibes

Yes, a dependent can book a room. As long as you have a military id you are eligible for the discounts and promotions. Retired military and even DOD workders are able to use the discounts. All info. is on mousesavers.com. Hope this helps.

Thanks all, I'm getting more excited about our upcoming trip, this will be our longest trip to Disney! DH will be with us so no problems there. I'll make the ressies in his name to be on the safe side, but I do have a ID as well. I just can't believe we'll be able to save 40%, finally I may have a chance to stay at a mod, not that I don't like the values, but I've always wanted to stay at a mod!:cloud9:
Now to figure out which one, make the ressies and go to the base to get our tickets(or should I say vouchers), think that's what I read, you get vouchers for the tickets then trade them for the real thing at the main entrance? Well we'll figure it out, this is why I love the Disboards, can always count on finding out from someone!;)
Thanks again!!:)

I am a dependent and I booked a room. My husband is career retired military. We booked the Beach Club for $223 a night in June! YEA! I was told that we would have to have military id card at check in. My choices for that time period for deluxe was wilderness lodge, beach club and boardwalk. It saves us $150 per night. I am really happy about this, with the tix offer we will save big time.

It says retired is okay, but then it says they have to have been active between Jan 2008 and now or something. I guess we don't qualify, my husband wasn't active during that time. Is this right?

I think someone asked earlier on the ticket thread about whether the 40% off rate was better than the 4/3 rate--I didn't want this to get lost in that big thread. I know I was curious, and I found this post in which someone took the time to calculate it all out. In most cases, when staying 7 days the 4/3 rate wins out. I was quite happy to find someone who figured it out (so I didn't have to! LOL)

Has anyone tried to book the 40% as a Reservist? DH is active in the Reserves, but has not been "activated" since 2004. The tix offer does NOT apply to us, but the wording on the room offer seems slightly different.
Is this just wishful thinking on my part? Or do you think our Reserve military IDs will be good enough?

I just received a quote from Dreams Unlimited for a FW cabin for 3/14/09-3/21/09 for $1697.65. With the military discounted tickets, total for 5 would be $2065.65 or so. Right now I have the 4/3 package deal booked for these dates, including 7 day tickets for everyone, for around $2700.
In others' experience, is Dreams Unlimited more expensive than calling Disney reservations directly? While this is a GREAT price, and I am so appreciative of the discounts, I just want to make sure I'm being as "financially responsible" as possible. :rotfl:

So...I have a trip booked for December of 09. My question is, to get the MYV code, do you have to present your ID at the time of check-in, or do you have to present it at the time of booking?
I ask this because while my DH is in the reserves right now, it is up in August and he hasn't decided it he wants to re-up or not. He would be considered "active" during part of 09, but not upon actual check in if he doesn't continue for longer in the reserves.
Anyone know the answer to this? I would LOVE to get this rate but I'm worried that if we show up in December without a current valid ID, we'll be removed on the spot...or worse, charged full rack rate!!! :rotfl:

You must present the valid ID card at check-in. When you book it, you're booking over the phone and they can't see your ID. So, when you book, they remind you that you'll have to show an ID-card when you check-in. (Shades of Green is the same way -- you can book it online by agreeing that you're eligible, but when you are checking in, that's when they check your ID to make sure you really are eligible.) Sorry!

Has anyone tried to book more than one room? My family all usually travels together and my DBro really wants to go back in Fall 2009-- he's due back from Iraq in April 2009. We usually have 3 rooms. But it depends on your dates, so if you're using the military offer, see what they offer when you call and see what you are offered when you plan it out online. For my 7-night GF stay in May, online 4/3 rate (with one-day ticket because it makes you get at least a one-day ticket), no dining, was $2186. The same 7-night stay with the military offer was $2121, but without the one-day park ticket. So, two one-day park tickets for $60 is a good deal if you need the ticket, but if you don't, the military deal is a bit less expensive.

That's what I figured. I either booked with the MYV code now and then try to change to AAA if he decided not to re-up his contract..OR, keep the AAA code now and try to change it to MYV if he re-ups. I'm thinking he will get out, so I guess it's a good idea that we did it this way.
Any idea if this works the same with the military tickets for free? We currently have base priviliges and can buy tickets through the base (which we plan to do), however I read that they are "exchange vouchers" that you will get...which you have to exchange at the ticket window on your trip.
Obviously, if we purchased the exchange vouchers, we had to present ID to get them, so will we have to do it AGAIN...or can we just present regular state issued ID at the ticket window on the trip (i.e. driver's license)??

Dreams Unlimited is cheaper because they actively look for discounts until the day of check in. They have a contest with the other Dreams agents to see who can save a client the most money. Disney doesn't give a hoot if you get a discount or not. If you don't have the code right, they're not going to give the code to you. And if a deal comes up later, disney isn't going to call you about it. Dreams Unlimited will!

We booked a 7 night stay in October for Dec 2009 at BWI Club Level with DDP. In our original package we had park tickets w/ park hopper option included (no waterparks). The total at that time for 4 adults and 1 child was just under $7K. After the discount rate for the room, it brought our package down to $4K but that doesn't include park tickets.:confused3 :confused3 The guy helping me said we had to purchase our park tickets at a military installation and that they couldn't be included in the package (he also had no clue as to the fact that the dining reservations were a 90-day out, not a 180-day out anymore). Not that it really bothers me but I'm not really sure what to think. We were actually looking to do the free ticket for DH and then the $99/5 day ticket promo for the rest of us. But not sure how that would really work.
Anyone doing both the room discount and the ticket deal?

Yes, you will have to do it again. It says that you have to present military ID when you purchase vouchers if you purchase them on a base or at SOG, and again when you exchange them for tickets at a ticket window, and as I read it, yet again when you "activate" them. The wording is, "required to present valid military identification .... for all ticket transactions (including to activate tickets, and/or redeem exchange certificates for tickets, at Main Entrance theme park ticket windows. A valid ID may also be required for admission."
Again, sorry -- but if you can do your trip earlier, check out the 4/3 deal because it's giving some fabulous deals.

Yes, you have it right here and I'm doing the same thing. You get the "room only" 40% off (or you can add dining, but not deluxe dining, if you wanted it). Military folks can get vouchers for the companion tickets (up to five 5-day passes for $99 each; add PH for $25; add WPF&M for $25) at a base or at SOG. The totally free one for the military person can only be gotten at the ticket counter at WDW, and that's where you'll have to go to exchange the companion certificates anyway. So, yes, you are on the right track. Have a fabulous trip!

Thanks Dorothy! That's what I thought but we all know well the Disney personnel are in the "know" :rotfl:
So I guess we'll be heading to SOG to get our tickets/vouchers rather than trying to do it at a base. DH is active duty but currently he's working a Defense Contract job that is NOT on a base but rather with Lockheed-Martin and the nearest AFB is 2 hrs away. We do have friends down there we could go visit and get our vouchers then.

Correct. I know you're confused, but I think it's because of the "complimentary" ticket -- only the military person (in your case, your DH, right?) can get that one. That's the one that is a free 5-day PH WPF&M. But spouses can present their own military ID cards and purchase the "companion" ticket for $99. That's a 5-day ticket. You can then add PH for $25, and WPF&M for another $25 if you want. You can buy the companion ticket at Shades of Green at Disney World when you get there if you don't have a base nearby to use. I also believe that you can just buy it at the ticket counter, but you would then have to pay tax on it. If you go to SOG, you can buy a voucher and then at the ticket window, you exchange it for a ticket. You do need to show your ID both times, so just keep it handy. Hope this helps, but post again if you have any questions. :)

I'm a little confused about the 40% room, I called (wanting to book two rooms) but was told we could only book one at the 40% off rate. Even though we have a big family and need two rooms, one would have to be rack rate. Anyone experienced anything like this or had a representative tell them they could book more than one room?
The woman I spoke with was very nice, but said we could only book on room, any additional rooms would have to have additional military personal in them.
Please help! We need two rooms, but it seems that may not be possible.

I have a question maybe someone can help me with.
We need to change our dates in June. My problem is I have a window of dates (depending on how many snow days my kids use this winter). If no snow days are used my kids will get out 5 days earlier, or if only 1 used 4 days earlier, etc. So right now I dont know the exact date we can leave. Can I book a package including all the dates, and then remove days as needed as long as it is within the 45 pay in full date?
We really want to take advantage of this great Military offer, and want to get down there as early in June as possible before it gets to hot and crowded. If we are able to leave a week earlier all the more better, just dont know when school will end. As of now we are having a mild winter, but I know that can change.
Thanks.

Also, I want to double check. My DB is a retired from the Air Force, not active during 2008, but he can still book a room for his family using the 40% off. Is this correct? Can he also take advantage of the free ticket for him and get the 5 day passes for his own family?

I think someone asked earlier on the ticket thread about whether the 40% off rate was better than the 4/3 rate--I didn't want this to get lost in that big thread. I know I was curious, and I found this post in which someone took the time to calculate it all out. In most cases, when staying 7 days the 4/3 rate wins out. I was quite happy to find someone who figured it out (so I didn't have to! LOL)
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=29503619#post29503619
I think this thread was comparing 40% off room plus tickets at the normal price compared to 4/3 deal.
If you are allowed to do both the military 40% off room rate and the Salute companion tickets (5 day passes at 99.00) with the free military member ticket, it would be a better option I think.

Could you share this code with us. Is it posted on Mousesavers?
Also, I want to double check. My DB is a retired from the Air Force, not active during 2008, but he can still book a room for his family using the 40% off. Is this correct? Can he also take advantage of the free ticket for him and get the 5 day passes for his own family?
I am using the 4/3 code for my own family in June. :thumbsup2 We vacationed last year together at the beach and talked about planning a trip together to Disney. :surfweb: So, if I am reading your comments and the specifics of the deal correctly, it just might become a reality! The kids would love it!
Not sure I have a real answer for either of your questions but know that for both offers your DB would have to have a valid and current military ID. Now that I think about he wouldn't qualify for the tickets because he's not Active Duty. It's for those who have served within the past year.
Retiring from the Air Force and leaving it when your duty time is up are 2 different things. When you leave the Air Force and you don't retire from it (this goes for all military branches) you do not get any of the privileges that those who have served 20+ years and retire. So your DB can only be a retired military person if he's given 20+ years of his life to the military. If he has then yes he can take part of the 40% room discount because he's got a retiree ID, but not the ticket offer.

Thank you for that info. There were other places I was reading that stated that it didn't apply to retirees. I thought it was kind of dumb if it didn't because my FIL is retired AF.

Yes, a dependent can book a room. As long as you have a military id you are eligible for the discounts and promotions. Retired military and even DOD workers are able to use the discounts. All info. is on mousesavers.com. Hope this helps.

THIS IS THE EXACT EMAIL WE RESCEIVED FROM THE SGT. ABOUT THE TICKETS:
Complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket
Through December 23, 2009, each active or retired member of the U.S. military
may obtain one complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket with
Park Hopper(r) and Water Park Fun & More options. This ticket is valid for
five days of admission into the four Walt Disney World(r) theme parks, plus a
total of five visits to a choice of a Disney water park, DisneyQuest(r)
Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other attractions. During this offer
period, active or retired U.S. military personnel (or their spouses, but not
both) may also make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 5-Day
"Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets (one theme park per day) for
$99 per ticket, plus tax, for family members (including spouse) or friends.
Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either
the Park Hopper(r) or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be
upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, plus tax,
per option. Actual prices may be less. All tickets and options are
non-transferable and must be used by December 23, 2009.
Activated members of the National Guard or Reservists (with orders showing
active status after January 1, 2008) and active or retired members of the
United States Coast Guard are also eligible to participate in this offer.
"Disney's Armed Forces Salute" tickets can be obtained only at participating
U.S. military base ticket offices (including at the Shades of Green Resort at
the Walt Disney World(r) Resort), or at main entrance theme park ticket
windows. Tickets are not valid until activated at the main entrance theme
park ticket windows. Valid military identification (including, for activated
members of the National Guard or Reservists, orders showing active status
after January 1, 2008) will be required to be presented by the service member
(or spouse) for all ticket transactions (including to activate tickets at the
main entrance theme park ticket windows). See your military base ticket
office or click here for details.
FROM WHAT I GET FROM THIS IS YOU HAD TO BE ACTIVE LAST YEAR OR RETIRED WITH ACTIVE STATUS. I'VE CALLED THE BASE TO CONFIRM AND I WAS TOLD WE COULD GET THEM WITH MY DH MILITARY ID BECAUSE HE WAS A ACTIVE NATIONAL GUARD MEMBER LAST YEAR! HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE.
THIS IS WHAT MOUSESAVERS SAYS ABOUT THE ROOMS:
Military Offer - Save up to 40% on Rooms
Special deal for eligible members of the US Military*: Save up to 40% on rooms at select Disney Moderate Resorts!* For stays most nights 1/4/09-12/23/09, except not available at all 2/13-2/15, 4/4-4/18, 5/22-5/24, 7/3-7/4, 11/25-11/26/09.
Offer is also available at other select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. If you'd like to book these rates as part of a vacation package with the Dining Plan, there is a special code for doing so.
*Offer available to active duty military, activated reservists and retired military. Proof of Military eligibility is required.
The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Minimum length of stay requirements may apply for Friday or Saturday arrivals. Savings based on non-discounted price for the same room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults per room.
I DON'T SEE ANYWHERE WHERE IT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT DOD, BUT I'LL LOOK INTO, DH WORKS FOR DOD, BUT IS A GUARD RIGHT NOW, WILL TRY TO FIND OUT FOR SURE SO THOSE WHO ARE DOD WILL KNOW. COURSE IT MIGHT BE EASIER JUST TO CALL AND ASK, THEY DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE, NEVER HURT JUST TO MAKE A CALL AND ASK!!;)
HOPE SOME OF THIS HELPED.....:) ;)

That’s what I thought to but I was able to book a deluxe yesterday and the savings was about 1300. I was only going to save about 300 staying at a mod. The man I spoke with told me it is what up to 40% and not all resorts were giving that discount.
I booked Beach Club standard view 8 nights for two adults and one child with dinning plan for 2674.01. The price for the Coronado was 2012.67 for WV and 1800.67 for a SV.
Here are the prices I was quoted for WL
CL 3025.11
WV 2200.96
ST 2161.11
And Prices for Poly

Actually, as the previous reply said, it can apply to values and deluxes, too. You need to call with your dates and see because it's going to vary based on time of year and how many people already booked. I booked GF at the 40% off and it's less than it would have been even with the 4/3 deal (going in May, so could have done either one). Call and see what they have for your dates. Hope you get what you need! :goodvibes

If I understand correctly the thing about active duty from Jan08-Dec09 is for National Guard and Reservists I don't think it applies to the rest of the Military. I think if you retired prior to this you will still qualify for the discount.

Husband has been retired from the AF for several years now. We did this same offer back in 2002 when it was offered. We had no problems getting the free and companion tickets at the TTC windows. The official Disney promo on this (someone quoted it a few posts above) also states you can go to any main ticket window to get the tickets. Just make sure you have your IDs.

That's great about you getting your deluxe! We did too -- staying at GF! <happy dance>
About buying tickets at the ticket window -- yes, you can do this, but if you do you'll pay sales tax. If you buy the vouchers from your base or at Shades of Green, you won't have to pay tax. Then you exchange the voucher at the ticket window for an actual ticket. In both transactions, an ID-carrying person has to show their ID card. Just trying to help people who might not want to pay sales tax. :)

We originally had a ressie at CR GW for the end of June with the 4/3.
When the military rate came out, our TA tried to price the same package only without tickets but she was told NO can't do that!
After reading ALL this stuff on the disboards, I decided I'd try MY hand at it. I tried to price the same with the military rate and they offered Poly but nothing CR; so I booked POR (we have 5 of us so it's smaller pool of resorts we have to pick from) with the military special, both rooms also were priced with the quickie dining package.
I spoke with my TA and told her what I had done, and offered to have the new ressie transfered to her company so she would get credit. She, of course, took me up on it, but I also asked her to see if she could keep our CR GW ressie but at the military rate.
Well, they told her yes!:thumbsup2 When before they had told her no! Once again, a difference in CM. Now we're going with CR GW with quickie dining, using military ticket offer and saving roughly $700 +++! :woohoo:
She kept the booking with the changed rate because it's better to have two booked and cancel one than to have to try your chances with ANOTHER CM!!
That's my story!

This resort is new to us. I'm hoping I made the right choice.
My quotes this morning were for 6 nights in June, 2 adults and 1 Child, with the basic dining plan
FQ $1305.00
Poly $2230.00
WL $2048.00 - Courtyard
AKL - $1724.00
I keep wondering if I should pick the AKL over the FQ. We love the CSR but it wasn't available.
It'll be a road trip so the extra $400 could go for lodging elsewhere. We have stayed at several places on property and become a little spoiled - so which would you pick for the $$$$?

The 40% deal for military is offered by Disney and is for Disney resorts. Depending on you or your spouses rank the Disney deal is pretty good compared to SOG. My DH and I stay at SOG. We like the feel, size of room, private balcony, etc. We pay $125 a night (I think that's the rate)
When I travel by myself or with a friend that's too high of cost. I'm booked at Pop for $55 a night for next December and I can use Magical Express.
It all depends on the size of your party, the kind of trip that you are planning, and whether you will spend time at your resort.

Hi all
We're taking advantage of this incentive too. WOOOHOOOO:cool1: Four nights at the POP for $260!!! (although the room size is smaller, the cost was $56 plus tax per night at the Pop versus $125 at SOG. My rationale: we don't plan to be in the room long enough to justify the extra cost for the big room at SOG...)
As for purchasing tickets, I used a similar incentive that was offered for those activated to NYC after 9/11. Hopefully this will work the same way. We purchased the tickets at the main gate to Magic Kingdom. I showed my military ID. I brought copies of military activation orders but was not asked to produce them. For those of you who are drilling reservists or Guardsmen/women, I'd make sure to bring a copy of active orders with you. When I called for clarification on this offer, I was told that as long as we had orders placing us on active duty anytime between Jan 1 2008 and now, we qualify. I was also told that we could purchase the tickets at SOG but their ticket window has limited hours.
Any other military folks at Pop Aug 12 + or the Aug 15 Tortola cruise???

ok so let me get this straight, when it says Active, it means active duty? So you would have had to have been over seas or have the orders saying your fixing to go?:confused3
ColeyB

No, active duty means you are currently serving. Someone in the Army can be active duty yet stationed in California. As long as you are "actively" serving. Deployed means over seas.

It says active which he is, but at the present moment he is not active duty will not be official(again) for a couple months. Anyway point is I'm so unsure if he really does qualify for the tickets or the room rate?? Some say yes, when I called the base they said yes, but many are saying that guardsmen need to show orders for being employed?? I feel like I'm going crazy:headache: :confused3 I just don't want to make ressies using the military code or buy tickets at the base then get to Disney and find out it's all no good. I just hope I can get all the facts straight before I do, cause I'm hoping to make ressies tomorrow or Tues.....I really hope I'm not sounding dumb on all this....:rolleyes1
*I see what your saying let me change my wording, DH is currantly active in the military, but won't be deployed again til this summer, which for some reason is what I called being called up for active duty, hope my wording above makes more sense now*

If your hubby has been activated any time since Jan.1, 2008 or will be activated to full time guard duty between now and the time you'll travel, you can get this deal. They will want proof when you check in. You said he will be activated to full time status soon, right? Will it be before you plan to go to WDW? If so, I would go ahead and book. You don't need proof right now, just when you show up.

I'm not sure if he'll get his orders by then or not, we're going for spring break, end of Mar. He may or may not have the papers by then. Just seems like the base wouldn't let people by them if they are not on orders?? Maybe I should just make the ressies and apply the code later, will they let me do that? Or maybe I should just make it Fla. rate, which I really don't want to do then it's only Sun-Thurs. I just want to scream............

So question on the discount tickets. My dad and brother are retired. My dad would be going with us but my brother would not be. Would we be able to have my brother get the companion passes for us to get the $99 tickets and my dad so we could get more than the 5? We will be traveling with 9 people, my Dad and Mom would be with us so we would have 2 people with IDs. Does anyone know??
Your dad could get his free ticket and 5 companion ones --and when he purchases them, all six of those people need to be standing there with him because they will put their names on the tickets and he will be "sponsoring" them. (Or, your Mom could buy the 5 companion tickets based on your Dad's sponsorship -- still, they will be associated with your Dad). So when you show up to Disney World to exchange those for actual tickets, your Dad's sponsorship will get him one free and five companion tickets. The fact that your Mom also has an ID still only gets you the five tickets sponsored by your Dad, plus his one free one if he goes to use it.
The same could apply to your brother -- the people he wants to buy tickets for have to be with him when he buys them, and he would have to be present with everyone when they exchange the vouchers for actual tickets. So, while your Mom and Dad both have ID's, the regulations are clear in stating that one or the other may purchase five companion tickets, but not both -- your Dad is a single "sponsor." If you want to use four more and associate them with your brother as sponsor, your brother will need to go to Disney World with the people he is sponsoring to get and activate their actual tickets. Sorry!

I was told both by my local ITT office and by Disney Ticketing Services that our ID was on the list of accepted IDs and that we'd qualify :) I figured it'd be the same for the rooms as well. Since the ID is listed (and the exact same as an active) I don't think we'll have a problem. I was also told that his original orders when he went from active duty into the reserves that states he has to do the 12 days active duty annually that they would work if needed. I hope we don't have any issues :)

I'm going based off what I've been told by my local ITT office and by Disney Ticket Services. Both said that DH's ID (a drilling reservists who has not been activated) will qualify us. It is the new CAC cards that does not state status. His ID is listed as one that is accepted. We're going to get our vouchers this weekend.
Also, we don't have any orders from last year showing his active duty status, but we do have his original orders/contract from when he left active duty and entered into the Navy Selected Reserves. It states plain as day on there that he is required to do 12 days of active duty annually. Both Disney and the ITT office said that work if we needed. Both also said that the orders were not needed if we had an unexpired ID.
I would call your local ITT office. It seems that Disney is relying on them to see who is eligible and who is not if getting the voucher from them. We're also booking a room this week for the 40% for the end of May.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the info they helped me with. We have decided not to go to Disney this go around and wait(hopefully) til summer like we usually do.
DH will be activated soon to be leaving sometime in July/Aug. so I let him pick where he wanted to go he wanted to go back to the mountains, he finds it very relaxing up there.
Hopefully by June they'll have the P&PP back and we can go for a weekend then before DH leaves.:thumbsup2
Thanks again for all your help, hope everyone has a great vacation, ride a few rides for me!;)

Thanks for all the information.
My dad is retired Navy and qualifies.
We're trying to talk him into coming with us! :thumbsup2
We're leaning towards 2 rooms at CSR + the discounted military 5 day tix.
I've read that if you pick them up at shades of green there's no tax is this correct? So they'd be $99 each.
We'd also have to buy 1 child 5 day hopper because there are 6 companions [mom plus my family of 5]. Is undercover tourist or shades of green cheaper? Thanks so much!
Hoping to get it worked out!:thumbsup2

ok. my husband is in the guard.. he was activated from 2004- jun of 2008... does that mean that we qualify since his orders were after Jan 2008.... or does he need to be on them still?

If he was on active duty in 2008, you qualify. He does not need to still be on active orders.
Enjoy your discount, it is well deserved!!!:thumbsup2

Okay, I'm currently working with Dreams Unlimited on a deal for Sept, got a question. If we get the $99 tickets, can they be added to our KTTW cards, or will we have 2 separate cards, one for admission, and one for dining/room? Just wondering if they can put the $99 vouchers on the KTTW card or not.

Someone might have already answered this but....my Dh is a reservist and we are booking with the 40% off code. He gets active duty orders for his 2 week tour every year. This year is a training mission in another state and that counts. We will take his active duty orders with us to Disney just in case there is an issue.

Unfortunately, the park tickets did not work out for us since we need 7 day passes. To get the military tickets for 4 people and 5 day and then another 2 days pass for everyone was actually no savings because of the way they structure their tickets. Add it up to make sure before you go with the military tickets. It will be easier having everytihng on one ticket anyway. Wish they would just let you add on days to the military special ticket price.

I just booked a new trip and the CM said I could add days to the $99 military ticket. Misinformation? Or did something change?

You do not have to be stationed overseas to be able to get the promotion. You only need to be "active" duty in the military. You do need to call and ask for the MYV code. Good luck! :goodvibes
Actually you do not have to just be "active" duty. It is also good for retirees, Reservists, National Guard and 100% disabled vets

That is misinformation. You can make it an annual pass, but you can't add days, and you can't add "no expiration," and if you do upgrade it to an annual pass, you will only get the value you paid ($99) not the value of a regular five day ticket. You can, however, add park hopping for $25, and/or water parks and more for an additional $25.

Plus Active Duty and Reservist ID's are identical now (CAC), so I don't know how they would know to ask for orders. But we are taking them too, just in case.
