Are the crowds lighter in early October or late May?

I am trying to decide when to go back. We are going in 2010 & was going to go in September but sounds like it wil be too humid. What other month is warm but not too crowded?

When we were there the last week of Sept in 06, it wasn't terribly humid at all. October weather can get hit or miss; this last year we were there in a cold snap (jacket weather most of the week). I don't know about the last week of May, but I'd imagine that would be starting to push into summer crowd levels.

I personally like the late September-October time; crowds are reasonable and the weather is quite agreeable.

After checking prices, I realize it will be $300 cheaper to go at the end of September. So that decides it.
