Does anyone know if you can rent a 1br for a family with 2 adults and 3 kids? Youngest in 7. Will they allow or have cots available so I dont have to get a 2br?

You can't get a cot from Disney. They may allow you to book a 1 bedroom with 5 people inthe older resorts, but they will tell you that they will not provide any linens. If you book at AKV right now in Jambo (except for a value 1 bedroom), they will allow you to have 5 and there is a sleeper chair for the 5th person. If you are going after May 1st, Kidani will be open at AKV and there are 2 baths in a 1 bedroom so that would even be better for you.

I think you meant a studio for a family of 5. The 1br can sleep 5, but the studio sleeps 4. I don't know if they would allow cots.

Because occupancy is a hot topic on the DVC Boards, the discussion is limited to this thread: DVC Occupancy Thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=901569&page=131)
To answer the OPs question...Member Services seems to currently be allowing 5 people in any one bedroom unit (except AKV Value 1 bedrooms), but DVC will not provide extra towels, bed linens, or a bed. Rollaways and cots are generally unavailable at DVC resorts.
AKV one bedroom units (non-value units) and BLT one bedroom units will have single sleeper-chair in addition to the sleeper sofa in the living room area.
