Has anybody ever done this? I love Quebec City but my daughter (6) and I have never skiied. Are there any hotel/resort packages suggestions? We would need lessons so I'm looking for a family type place. We're in Ontario so we would take the train.

There is Mont Tremblant which has so much to do there.
I recently came across a deal where the rate at Les Tours Des Voyagers was $159 a night for Sun to Thurs and then your 4th & 5th was free and you could use your 4th & 5th night on a Fri or Sat. I think the total I was quoted for 5 night from Tues to Sat came to just over $600 incl. taxes.
Now this didn't incl the lift tkts but you can add all of that on. This price is a FANTASTIC price for Tremblant and you would be hard pressed to find a better deal.

I also can't seem to find it on their website but I have one saved for myself in Feb. I would suggest calling the 1800# & asking if they are still running the 4th & 5th night free deal at Les Tour Des Voyages.
Good luck!

Three years ago we went to Mont-Sainte-Anne and really enjoyed it.

Here's a link http://www.mont-sainte-anne.com/1/

You may also want to investigate skiing near Burlington, Vermont which is approx. 7 hours drive and therefore may be even closer than Quebec City.

There are many places in Vermont like Bolton Valley, Stowe, Sugarbush, Killington and Jay`s Peak. Since it won`t be March Break in the States, you may be able to get a better deal.

You would have to Mapquest each location for exact distances.

We are looking into Bolton Valley, near Burlington VT for March Break.

Oops, I just realized you said you may take the train which could be an issue. Sorry about that.

If your only option for transportation is the train, forget about Mont-Tremblant, stick with Mont Ste-Anne in Quebec city:goodvibes

I disagree. There is a shuttle to Mont Tremblant from the Dorval train station or at the very least from downtown Montreal. Check it out online...sorry don 't have the link but Mont Tremblant skyport shuttle should help.

Have a great vacation!

We were there last year. Rented a townhouse for the family right near Mont Tremblant. We are beginner/intermediate skiers so we loved to ski at Gray Rocks - 5 min drive from Mont Tremblant. It was smaller and very family oriented. Inexpensive (cheaper than Ontario hills!) and not busy at all.

You would need a car though.

How could I forget. If you do end up getting a car, make sure you go to Valcartier - it is an amazing Snow Tubing park. It is a summer water park in the summer which is converted to a winter wonderland. We had a blast. It is about 45 minutes from Quebec City.

Last March Break we did the ski thing at Gray Rocks, Quebec City sightseeing, had so much fun at Valcartier Village, toured Montreal and Ottawa before driving home.

...and if you want to see the most beautiful place, you take the train not to Quebec but to Saguenay (it is about 2 hours past Quebec city, by car, i dont know how long by train) then you take the bus that will take you to Mont-Edouard. So beautiful to see and to ski !

I can help you if you have questions, my husband's parents own a cabin close to the ski station, thats where we go when we want to relax!

Whatever you chose, i wish you a beautiful trip!
