Yes he did go with us. I was a little worried about him, but he did great! He loved seeing the characters everywhere. We didn't do too much with him (he was 14 months) he was too young for the club and we didn't want to leave him in the nursery. We usually found a quiet area and let him run around a bit before and after we did something like dinner or a show. That helped alot. The staff was awesome with him. He particularly took a liking to Grace, who was one of the photographers. She seemed to find us everywhere! Needless to say we bought alot of pictures:)
Hi JustinsMommy07 and Tina :yay:
Great to have you on board was worrying we would be the only ones

Just decided to join you. It will be me, Stephanie, and my almost 16 year old DD. We will be celebrating her Sweet 16 which is 9/11.
I have had the September 10th 3 Day booked for a while so we could celebrate on board, but then Disney came out with the free birthday promo. Now we can cruise on the 4 Day and then be at WDW for her actual birthday. She will get in free and I have an AP this year.
I just got our cruise reservations changed and booked our airfare while Airtran was having their sale. We will fly in the 5th and out the 12th. Hoping to get a deal on the Hyatt at MCO for our pre-cruise stay and hoping for a sweet AP rate on property for our two nights post cruise.
I'm excited. This will be my 6th cruise, 2nd on the Wonder, but my daughter's very first. My DH and I have two girls ages 15 and 10. I plan to take them on a mother-daughter trip when they turn 16 and my DH plans to take them on a father-daughter trip when they graduate high school. This is our first of those trips.

A name and logo would be great!! I am so bad at that stuff:confused3 I did do magnets and t-shirts for our cruise last October. But I underestimated the time that I needed and was doing alot of it at the last minute and I forgot the magnets at home:( I was soo upset. We also participated in the Fish Extender Exchange and had an awesome time. Even DH, who wasn't into it when I told him about it, was the first to check for goodies!

Well we are on our 3rd reservation (first two now cancelled :) ) and back on this cruise! We got a really good deal on a 7-night - but my little brother got accepted into the College Program at WDW!! We can't be in Florida and not visit him - so back to the 4-night it is :) I"m ok with that though - this is our first cruise - so a good way to get our feet wet! Now we'll spend 4 nights before at WDW and then cruise.
I haven't really looked at the threads about the menus changing because I'm a pretty picky/plain eater :) I'll be the adult eating off the kids menu.....
I have been thinking about my FE - we have a pretty small group so far - but I'm hoping we'll get some more people! The more I read about it the more it sounds like a nice way to make a great crusie even better.
We have our passports now - my husbands just arrived yesterday. Having both of those is making our trip seem more real!
I've started a list of things I want to remember too.....Any little thing to make the next 3 months go by faster!

Hi all.. Looks like me, Betty(39) and DH, Bruce(43) will be on this cruise.. just booked it tonight..
We will be on Carnival Glory from Aug 29- Sept 5th and then staying at a nearby hotel and treking our way back to the port to get on the Wonder.. We have cruise many many times, but this is our first Disney Cruise.. Im so excited.. :woohoo:..
We were going to originally go to Key West after the first cruise, then changed my mind and thought we were going to WDW for free dining and then looked into prices and we can do this cruise for much less by staying cat 12 vs staying at POFQ..
DH said that he's worried now that once I do this one I will only want to do DCL.. :rotfl: Im budgeting money into this cruise so we can rebook before we get off the ship.. ;)
We requested late dining..
If there is a Dis meet, Id like to meet up with you guys and if there is a FE exchange Im in..
just let me know..

Hi Tina!! We are super excited to be going on a Disney cruise.. we started cruising in 2001 and our first cruise was going to be a disney cruise but we decided to go with Carnival because we wanted a casino.. we have done many cruises since and I my heart keeps leaning towards Disney..
Not sure yet on the excursions.. we are doing a 7 day Eastern Carib cruise the week before this one and get back on Saturday, Sept 5th and then get on the DCL on Sept 6th.. we are now deciding what we want to do on the first leg of our trip.. we will be in Nassau on that cruise also and Im pretty sure we are going to Blackbeard and will just snorkel and relax on the beach there.. Havent decided yet what we will do when we are there on the DCL.. Now CC, I think we will spend most of our time at the adult part of the beach and just relax.. I think we will do some snorkeling at CC and hoping that there will be some banana boats going while we are there.. Our main goal for this entire trip (both cruises) is to relax.. we both absolutely love snorkeling and love the beaches, so we will probably lean towards that this time..
I think we are going to skip Palos this time.. not 100% sure yet.. if we do it, then we will probably do brunch because since this is our first DCL we dont want to miss any dinners in the regular dining room.. if we dont make it this time, then we will for sure do it on the next go round..
I cant wait to meet everyone..
OK updated the roll call , let mr know if I've left anyone out

On our last cruise thread we had a question of the week , so we got to know each other before we meet , I'll start
QOTW **What your holiday plans**
as usual there has been a lot of planning for this holiday from me :surfweb: everyone else just goes along with what I decide :laughing:
We start our trip on the 24th of August by staying at the airport hotel in Dublin landing at bedtime , our flight is at 11am so a nice relazing morning I hope :wizard:
we are flying direct into MCO which is an 8 hour flight hope there is some good movies showing We will be hiring a car at the airport
We are spending our 1st four nights at the Bay Lake Towers in a 1 bedroom standard room a surprize for DS and then moving over to the Beach Club Villas for the rest of the time
Hoping to go to the MNSSHP on the 4th Sept
have a few ADR's booked but planning on eating off site some nights too , we will see
No real plans for the parks we have AP's from last year and just go in and out as we please
Youngest DS wants to go to KSC this time , hopefully we will get to IOA / US this time too , we have the ticket from a few years back but always seem to run out of time to go , This will be our 10th trip to Florida and never been there yet :confused3
We are heading home straight after the cruise got a 6pm flight so have a few hours left of our holiday
So thats about it , all I can do now is wait for the summer to be over to start our trip
so whats eveyones plans ?

Your plans sound wonderful.. How lucky that you get to stay at BayLake Towers..
We have been to Florida many many times and have never made it to US either.. Its a must do for us in the near future..
well heres our plans..
DH is taking Thursday, Aug 27th off.. I will get up and go to work that day.. Im planning on only working 4 hours though.. 6-10 am.. the plan is that our car will be all packed and ready to go on Wednesday evening.. I will take the other car to work that Thursday.. DH will get up and get the cooler together and any other last minute things.. We are hoping to be on the road by 11 am.. we are driving straight thru to Florida, only making the occasional stops.. we will arrive sometime Friday late afternoon.. We are staying at Radisson by the port.. Im sure we will just crash that night.. we will get up Saturday and we head to the port.. We are cruising on Carnival Glory :dance3: We are going to St Thomas, St Maarten and Nassau.. we get back the following Saturday, Sept 5th..
We are leaving our vehicle at the hotel and they will shuttle us to the port so when we get back they will shuttle us back to the hotel.. we are checking in on Sept 5th for another night at Radisson.. Once we are checked in we are going to drive to Downtown Disney so I can do a little shopping.. then hoping to hit the outlets malls out there.. then head to the hotel to wash some laundry and hang out at the awesome looking pool.. then on to bed and will get up early Sunday morning and head to breakfast... then we'll check out and get shuttled to the port to get on the Wonder :yay::yay:
Anyone else?? What are your plans?

How long will it take to drive ?

DH says its about a 19 -20 hour drive.. Everyone I talk to says its not that long, but the last time we drove it was in 2001 and it took about that long.. we only stop for gas, restroom breaks, coffee and to get out and walk around a bit... we plan on taking a cooler with sandwiches like we did last time and bringing drinks, chips and snacks..
We have cruised Carnival many times and absolutely love it.. I have wanted to cruise Disney several times since but the price was just too high.. I was able to get a decent deal on this sailing so I decided to go for it.. Although we will miss the casino, I think we will enjoy everything else about it..
One question I have for anyone that might know.. I asked on the cruise board a few days ago about formal nights and was advised there isnt an actual formal night.. On the other cruiselines generally on one of the formal nights we get lobster.. since there is no "formal night" will we be served lobster any night we are on the cruise?? DH has his fingers crossed for this one.. so I hope you guys have good news.. :rotfl:

Hi guys,
I can't believe the cruise is so close! I feel like I am just recovering from our 2weeks in WDW in June. It was a great trip - hot, but fun. Our plans for the cruise trip are:
Sept. 5th - Fly from Indy to Orlando, grab a rental car, crash at Marriott Orlando Airport (Priceline - $42)
Sept. 6th - Drive to port, return rental car and BOARD THE WONDER!!! We have a cat. 12 guarantee. Can't wait to get our cabin assignment.
Nassau - We haven't booked an excursion yet, but I think we will probably go to Blue Lagoon and do the Sea Lion Encounter.
Sept. 10th - Sadly, leave the Wonder:-( Rental car back to Orlando. Check into the Radisson Resort Orlando - Celebration (Priceline - $39) We are talking about maybe going to see La Nouba that night???
Sept 11th - MARIAH'S 16th BIRTHDAY - We will go to either MK or HS during the day. Mariah hasn't decided yet. They are both closed that evening for ticketed events, MNSSHP at MK and Night of Joy at HS. We will probably attend Night of Joy.
Sept. 12th - Spend some time at DTD and then fly home that evening.
I can't wait!!!

I cancelled my free dining at the BLT at the Contemporary and changed it to the 38% discount on deluxe hotels. I also didn't need the two one day passes that I would have had to buy with the free dining package. DH has 7 days left on an old hopper and I just picked up a discounted AP. I applied an old one day ticket plus I used the friends & family discount card, so I paid $369 for an ap that was activated on June 27th. I was passing thru Central Fl on my way to a convention at St. Pete's beach, so I stopped at DTD to buy my AP.
Anyway, was are happy to have a room only discount at BLT prior to our cruise.
I would also like to participate in the fish extender program for our group.
We are on deck 5 in a cat 11 sideways cabin.

Hi guys,
I can't believe the cruise is so close!
What a great 16th birthday! I bet it will be one she will remember always.. Have you done the sea lion encounter before?? I was reading up on this one a little and it looks fun..

Hi Bettyann! Wow that is some drive you guys have!!! We will be staying at the Radission also on September 5th. Palo brunch is amazing! I think you should at least consider it. We booked it already. Talk to you soon!
I think the drive is the one thing I am NOT looking forward to.. but I think we will be glad that we'll have our own car with us.. after our 2 cruises we are driving to DMIL for a few days before we head home.. she is about 1 1/2 hours from WDW..
I am starting to lean towards driving 10 hours and then finding a hotel to rest in and then drive the other half on Friday.. we'll still get there in plenty of time on Friday..
WE'LL BE THERE:cool1:
I'm so excited, this will be the families first cruise.:cheer2: It will be me (Dee), my DH (Tim), and DS(Austin) turning 4 during the cruise!! We have the main dining and we will be in Stateroom 6634. You can count us in for the FE too. I want to try and make this trip super special. Then maybe I can talk my DH into making this a yearly vacation!!;):
See you all on board:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Welcome!! Ive been doing some researching on other posts for the FE thing.. Im not very creative so I hope I do ok on this..
I cancelled my free dining at the BLT at the Contemporary and changed it to the 38% discount on deluxe hotels. I also didn't need the two one day passes that I would have had to buy with the free dining package. DH has 7 days left on an old hopper and I just picked up a discounted AP. boy oh boy.. I have sooo many questions.. :rotfl:
I havent been on a disney cruise before but have cruised many times.. just wondering how tempting it is to buy everything in the shops onboard.. :rotfl: I am notorious for spending money at WDW so Im sooo afraid of that spilling over to this cruise.. Im usually pretty good when we go on cruises but with this being a disney cruise.. Im scared..
How much do you typically spend on souvenirs on a disney cruise??

Hey everyone,
Just checking in...haven't been on in a while. I see we have some more Diser's joining us:cool1: Can't believe how time is flying! We are still trying to get our pre-cruise plans in place. Post cruise we are spending a couple of days at the Wilderness Lodge and doing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel by the port? Last year we stayed at the Hampton Inn and weren't crazy about it Oh yea...and we just found out we are expecting #2 so no drinks of the day or Conch Coolers for me....guess I will have to live vicariously through DH and the rest of you guys!!:woohoo:

Hey guys! Congrats on the pregnancy JunstinsMommy!!!! You must be thrilled. I will be more than happy to drink a Conch Cooler for you.
We stayed at the Radisson last year and will stay there again this year and it was fine. The room was clean, the pool area was really nice, even though we didn't get a chance to enjoy it last year. We got the $99 room this year (doesn't include breakfast) and will be able to park the car there for the cruise. We got the $129 with breakfast included last year and decided it wasn't worth the extra cost. We will pick up something light and cheap for breakfast this time around because you head straight to the buffet as soon as you board the ship. We didn't dress up last year for Pirate Night but DS4 did of course. We haven't decided yet if we will dress up this time. I am going to go try to find some pictures of the Wonder and our FE. It was pretty fun to do the FE. Some of the things we received were:
A pirate handbag
stickers
candy
pencils
bubbles
CD with Disney songs
I am not a creative person at all so I bought an organizer at a craft store and just put stickers and wrote on out FE. I think we had some magnets on it also. Like I said I will try to post some pics. If anyone has any questions I will be more than happy to answer them. Or at least try to. You can ask on here or feel free to PM me. I would love to do a DIS meet if we can! Talk to you soon

Great pictures Jackie. Thanks for sharing. We would love to be added to the FE list. Thanks!
Bettyann: We didn't spend hardly anything on souvenirs. My son got to pick out one thing and I bought a few things. Overall we spent maybe $50. They also have photographers around constantly and then you can go view all the pics from the day in a room and you can purchase those also. I don't know how much they were because we didn't buy any.

scotnsteph and jns.. great pictures! They are getting me more excited for this trip!!
Justinsmommy-- congrats on the upcoming baby! We are staying at Radison right by the port.. we're actually staying there the week before for 1 night before our Carnival cruise and then we come back from that cruise on Saturday and we are getting picked up by Radison and then staying there that Saturday night before the Disney cruise and leaving our car there during both trips.. I think we got a pretty good deal considering the price we got includes parking during the cruise, shuttle to/from the port and also hot breakfast buffet.. The pool area looks really nice too.. I guess we'll see how it goes since this is our first time there..
Me and DH went down today to get our passports.. I think we'll have them before we leave for Florida.. I know we dont have to have them for this trip, but it'll be nice to finally have them..
I also went down and bought ink for my computer and some paper so that I can check in online and print out stuff for these trips.. I also got a 3 ring binder to put everything into.. I havent had a working printer in several years.. Im too cheap to buy the ink.. :rotfl: The last time I bought ink for it the black ink was around $25 and the color was closer to $30 for the cartridge.. Today the black was $10 and the color was $15!! on top of that Target had a deal if you bought 2 individual HP cartridges you get a $10 giftcard.. so after the giftcard figured in I only paid $15 for both!!! not a bad deal.. I think I'll go back tomorrow and grab another color one and another black one.. :lovestruc
Im thinking about a FE.. Im not very crafty, so I'll have to see what I can come up with..
Hope everyone has a great week!

Thanks everyone! I am going to check out the Radisson for the night before the cruise. We are going to get DS, who will be 2, a pirate costume for pirate night and he can wear it to MNSSHP also. We will probably just wear some kind of pirate t-shirts. Last time I got a pirate design from the disigns board and just ironed them onto tees. I also made a ton of magnets for our door and forgot them at home, but let's not open that old wound:laughing: Anyway, I can't believe how close we are to cruise time:banana: Are we going to try to do any meets?

Me too! This question is geared to anyone who has done the FE exchange before... When do you start buying for the exchange? I was wanting to get each person the same thing, but realized yesterday that people may get added as the trip gets closer.. Do you just buy some extras in case you need them or if you dont have enough of something just get them something different??

I haven't done this before but as I've been reading some of the other threads to get an idea of what/how they do things! I'm finding that most have a "cut-off" date for FE participation. I think we might want to consider this so we know EXACTLY how many we need to do!
I'm also seeing that people do things several different ways: a) they do 1 gift per CABIN
b) they do 1 gift per PERSON
I've also seen a few groups that do 1 gift per cabin/person per day :scared1: I'd prefer (for space and $$$ issues) if we did only 1 gift (whether it be per person or per cabin) but only once for the cruise. I guess we could also leave this up to the individual participants - everyone is free to do it however they want!
I'm pretty open to how we do this - as I've never done it before :) But I would like to get started soon so I'd love a game plan!
I'm also thinking mine will be personalized so I am wondering if we could get a list of first names(and adult or child designation)?
My head is swarming with info I have read from other threads! I think we should come up with what WE are all comfortable with though! So ideas? Thoughts?
If you haven't noticed I'm a planner/detail person (as most on the DIS seem to be) so this is on my "list" haha

I think the cut off date would be a good idea too :thumbsup2 maybe 2 or 3 weeks before we sail
16th Aug is 3 weeks before we cruise or 23rd Aug is 2 weeks before
and I think once round the ship given out gifts is enough ,as it does take up time
as for gifts I vote for one gift per cabin ,
I have a list of everyone on the first page , hopefully I haven't missed anyone :confused3

Thanks Jackie. I vote for the cut-off date by August 23rd. I would also recommend that you do not put cabin assignments on the first page of your post, but put them in a PM list to FE participants. Any FE participants that get a last minute cabin change should also notify you by PM precruise, or a note on the door if the changes are done at the port.
Our group is still small, so I think we can do a quick meet & greet at the Promenade Lounge around 3PM, or on deck 10 right before the sailaway party.

Your list is good - just a few of them don't have first names :)
I'd vote for at least 3 weeks before our cruise as the cut off. I'm going to be in Disney for a week before we cruise (and I'm probably not the only one!) - so that would leave a couple weeks before we leave!
I am getting so excited - when I booked so many months ago I didn't think it would EVER get here - but we are getting close!
I think a meet on the 1st day would be good. This is our first cruise so I know we are goign to be busy trying to get everything in!
bettyann29

I also vote for August 16th as the cut off.. mainly because we are leaving right after work on August 27th, so if the cut off is the 23rd that only gives me 4 days.. either way is fine though, just let me know cause then I can get started a little early.. I say 1 per cabin is fine too.. we are driving so its no big deal for us, but I know if anyone is flying then space may be an issue for them..
Im so so excited.. Cant wait to do this.. even though Im clueless, so bear that in mind..
Hope everyone has a great week!

Please include us in the Fish Extender. On our last cruise, we did one gift per cabin, and it was great fun! We had so much fun last year, and look forward to having more fun this year.
What we did, as the days got closer, was one person took all of the cabin numbers, as you get them for the GTYs, and then emailed a list out the night before they left to come to Port Canaveral.
Who's staying at the Radisson the night before? We are, and was just wondering.

Thanks for the information. I know that is sort of the normal time frame, but sometimes people get an assignment earlier or not until they get to the port. I have never done GTY before and I am anxious to see where on the ship we are. I'm excited to see my countdown calendar getting closer!

Has anyone thought of a name for the cruise yet??

Thanks a great design. Thanks. Any chance you can do a similar, taking out the red background, and maybe making a red boarder instead.
My old printer will go thru a lot of red ink to print the red background.
Just a suggestion.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear we won't be all alone on deck 1. I was hoping all of us 12 GTY's, would get a Cat 9. The split bath will be nice though. I have cruised on DCL one other time and I had a sideways Cat. 11 so I am anxious to see the difference.

We travelled in January on category 10, and believe me that the split bath is a plus. We didn't have a positive experience from the FE back then because we were the only ones (along with my sister) that were on deck 1, so we got to see how some of the FE guests missed us. I can tell you this because when it was our turn to give out the gifts, we saw some stuff on their FE that wasn't in ours. Also, the Castaway Cay day, when we aboard the ship and were walking through another deck, my daughter was looking at all the goodies that were in the others FE and was expecting some in ours, but to our surprise, when we got to our staterooms, we had nothing.
So, I've always told my daughter that she can have what I can provide her and have raised her not to wait for gifts from anyone; but it sure was a disappointment.
Just had to get it out of my mind- sorry.

I would just edit the main list on the frontpage, then everyone head to WDWInfo (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-deckplans.htm) and make yourself a map with everyone's stateroom. It makes it a lot easier not to miss someone, and easier to orient yourself.

DH informed me today that wearing a pirate polo is not good enough for Pirate Night, so I went online and found a plus size Caribbean Pirate costume for DH, for $41 including shipping. I ordered from
Costumesupercenter........ (caribbean pirate plus costume). they had a coupon on the website.....not a bad price...
I am so happy that DH is finally giving some input on this cruise that I booked in Sept 2008.... he usually tells me at the last minute that he wants/needs something......
Our group is still small, so I think we can do a quick meet & greet at the Promenade Lounge around 3PM, or on deck 10 right before the sailaway party.

We are arriving late at 1:30PM, taking DCL bus from WDW. On our previous cruises we wore green leis, or took green mickey heads from Home Depot and put them on our carryon or backpacks. its easy to spot the green.

Well, on January we tried to change it with no luck. We received a daily call informing us that there were no openings. The sad thing is that if you look around the restaurants you can see empty tables, I know they're assigned but is kind of rude for people to not show of and leave us eating in the second seating.
I'll try
shoes99
08-09-2009, 11:26 AM
To try and request 1st seating, you can try and go in person as soon as you get on the ship. There will be a restaurant manager to talk to about first seating, it will be listed in your navigator as to where to go to make changes, and also to get last minute Palo reservations. It usually works.
Retroloco
08-09-2009, 09:39 PM
No set time to deliver the FE gifts. Just surprise us:) If anyone wants to change their seating or try to book Palo, you should be able to go to Route 66 and get that taken of when you board. I just looked at a recent navigator and we will only have about 30 minutes to meet because we have to get ready for the safety drill at 4. Maybe those of us who can (I know the young kiddies might not even make it through dinner!);) could also meet up after dinner that night outside the lounge. Just a thought!

Ok...we made up our minds. No excursions. It will probably be better this trip if we stay on the boat and relax. Yes DS is going to be dressed as a pirate for pirate night. I am currently searching for a costume. Probably going to get him the same one he wore last year. It was lightweight enough so that he didn't get too sweaty! I think it would be cool to dress up, but I know when the time comes I won't feel like it.We will probably wear some kind of pirate t-shirts.pirate:

I'm trying to convince him to go to the MNSSHP on Friday 9/7, since we are arriving on Thursday 9/6 and staying pre-cruise at BLT.
No, he doesn't know I posted since he doesn't DIS. This is so out of character for him to ask about dressing up, so I am going with the flow and enjoying his enthusiasm .. Two years ago, on our 7 night Western, he went to the kids club and got face paint. He did his face as a surprise, showing up after dinner for the pirate party.

Jackie, have a great trip.
We got our docs today too, but I also did online checkin, so you just need to print the portion online for the signatures.
Our FE cabins are all over the ship, which makes it fun. Im almost finished with mine.
We are not getting to the ship until after 1PM from WDW, so we will meet in at the Promanade Lounge at 3PM just to say HELLO.

Just stopped at Michael's Craft Store in Freehold, NJ. Most of their fish extender type gifts are on sale. I got some great pirate stickers, glow sticks and other stuff. Lots of scrapbooking supplies also on sale.

Does anyone know which night is Pirate Nightpirate:? I went to the party store yesterday to pick up some things for my husband to wear on pirate night, but now I don't know if he will get to be at the party. He has a massage scheduled on the third night, so I hope pirate night is on the second night.

Can I ask what you mean by dress up on the 2nd night?? Am I right that there is no formal night?? If no formal, than what is dress up considered?? Just wondered if we should bring DH's suit?? Should he wear a tie?? He decided not to bring a tux this trip..
I also went to Michaels today and they have some great things for CHEAP.. I also went by Party City a few weeks ago and got some great Pirates of the Caribbean party favor things for 50 cents a package.. I guess they were clearancing them out..

On the Wonder, Dress up can be a suit, or just a dress shirt & tie, or even an open collared shirt with dockers.
DH is wearing a dress shirt with tie, no jacket. I am wearing a dark blue sundress.
If you want to take advantage of family portraits, bring a suit..
We are doing a land/sea so to limit our packing, we are not bringing a suit or jacket for DH.
You will see all types of dress on dress-up night. There is no formal night on the Wonder.

We are not dressing up
There were all types of clothing, some people were very elegant and others were just casual.
We wore and are going to wear docker style pants and a nice shirt for me and a button shirt for DH.
We just received our pirate costumes today, so we're feeling the cruise already. And the most important thing is that we liked how they fit.

OK.. I am completely done shopping for the FE now.. whew.. I have all the kids stuff completly done and put together.. I have the stuff for the cabin gift.. I just need to put together.. Im planning on doing that this coming Sunday.. as Saturday me and DD11 are going to a local waterpark.. Im looking forward to spending the day with just me and her..
Thanks for the info on the dress night.. We just need to decide now if DH wants to bring his suit.. we are driving so its not really a big deal as far as getting it there.. we are going on another cruise the week before this one and go on Wonder the day after the other one ends and he is taking his tux on that cruise and not planning on taking his suit.. I dont know.. he may just not worry about it on this one either as we need it for a wedding the following weekend and if he wears it on the cruise than I will have to get it dry cleaned again as soon as we get home so he'll have it for the wedding.. decisions.. decisions..
I am in stress mode right now.. I have so much to do and so little time as we leave next Thursday and there is so much to do.. the car needs an oil change and needs to be cleaned.. my house needs a good cleaning.. we get home from the Wonder on Sunday, Sept 12th and then fly out for the wedding on Thursday of that week and then Im throwing my niece a baby shower the weekend after that.. so its very busy right now..
Cant wait for these cruises...

Hello Everyone...We just booked last week..myself..husband and our 12yo daughter...we are so very excited!!!!
We would love to join in the fun and meet up with all of you. I am new to Disboards...and have been searching for others on this cruise all week. I'm so glad I finally did. This is our 2nd Disney cruise...we had done a 3 day about 3 years ago. It was not enough time on such a beautiful ship.
In Nassau, I booked Comfort Suites, right next door to the Atlantis, which you are able to use all the amenities at the Atlantis. I got a AAA rate of $140...but with taxes and fees will be about $180. I am very excited to go to the Atlantis we have never been there before.
Hope to be talking to everyone over the next 2 weeks. Leanne:goodvibes

We had received our earlier in the week. On our last cruise we were able to track them through UPS. I am drawing a blank on where I got the tracking number, though. DCL could probably provide you with the tracking number if you are worried.

I was able to track mine by using the reservation number as the tracking number along with my zip code on the UPS tracking website.

About 2 weeks before your cruise follow this UPS link.
http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US
In the shipping reference put your cruise confirmation #. In the zip code put your zip or if you used a travel agent put their zip.
This will track your documents. It will give you up to date delivery information. If you used a travel agent it will be sent to them and they will have to get it to you. Most of the stuff that is in the pack you can do online ahead of time now.

Leanne - your daughter will definitely make new friends quickly. When we went three years ago I think my daughter made 3 the first day and then they tried to coordinate times when they'd meet (since she didn't stay in the club all day). I had been doing some research and we were thinking about doing the Comfort Suites thing in Nassau as well. We don't have AAA, but its only $20 more without it...still WAAAAY cheaper than the DCL excursion price even with taxi and lunch added. I've got DW checking out the Atlantis website now to see if we want to spring for it or just enjoy the ship that day.
mayraguma - What is the fish exchange (FE) I keep reading about? Is it a DIS thing? Do I need to prepare somehow? Anything to make the cruise unique for the kids would be cool. I know I have a couple of other surprises planned for them including some door decorations I'm working on (which I didn't know about last cruise!)
The kids are WAY excited. Today was the first day of school for the kids but after they got done telling me about their day, I still got a "we can't wait for the cruise"

I wanted to participate in the FE exchange, but I don't sew. I looked at ebay and didn't see anything I would want to buy so I put my scrapbooking skills to work. I visited my local craft store, Hobby Lobby, and gathered some items. I used a metal purse shape as my base and applied scrapbooking paper with Modge Podge and decorated with stickers and ribbon. It was a lot of fun to do.
So now I proudly present my non-traditional Fish Extenders....

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3495/3859425764_1114d56c8f.jpg
Now I have to figure out how to hang these from the fish or I may just use magnets and hang them from our cabin door. I was thinking my DD's would be cute in her locker this year at school.
Some other ideas I have seen or thought about:
Get canvas bags from a craft store or even Walmart and decorate them up. They have a variety of styles and sizes of bags. You could even take some of the great ideas from the magnet threads and make an iron on to apply to a bag.
Even simpler would be to use gift bags and decorate with Disney stickers.
How about hanging office files?
I hope these ideas get you thinking. I literally just walked around Hobby Lobby looking for something to pop out at me. The little metal purses were on clearance for $1.12 and I couldn't pass them up. What could be more appropriate for a Mother Daughter Sweet 16 Cruise?

Very cool! My little brother is there doing the college program so he keeps calling the reservation # for cast members to see what they have a good discount on! We started out staying at Port Orleans-French Quarter. That is where my brother works though - so he wanted somewhere different - we switched to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Then early this week he called and found a pretty good deal on BLT - so we went for it! My hubby has been wanting to stay there - and we have never stayed in a vacation club property before! Hopefully he doesn't change it again before next week - haha!

For my FE I bought 3 small craft bags in walmart. They are the ones they sell for you to customize, they usually are canvas and a cream color, but these I found were a black colored package. I bought inexpensive fabric and sew them together. You'll get to see them as pictured, since I'm not making another one. Hope you like it.

Thanks guys!!
We made it to Radisson today.. It is absolutely beautiful!! We got a suite room and its worth every penny!! We even have a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom!! I took pictures and will post once we get home..
We were just about at the hotel and we saw a crowd of people stopping on the side of the road and gathering at the water, so we of course stopped to see what was going on.. there were bunches of manatees right there at the edge of the water.. I bet there were 20-30 of them!! so so cool.. of course I got pictures..
we are excited that the shuttle might take off tonight.. we are setting the alarm and will be outside with the video camera, hoping that it happens so we can see it!!
see you guys!

OMG! You gave me the biggest scare. LOL! I was reading your post and you said Radisson and I was thinking Orlando. Mariah and I are staying at the Radisson in Celebration after our cruise. I thought you might be tallking about that one and I was so glad to hear it was absolutely beautiful. Then you talked about the manatees and space shuttle and I realized you were iat the Radisson at the Port. And I thought why would you be in Cocoa Beach so early? We don't cruise for another week. It was then that the panic set in. I thought Holy Crap I'm a week off. I'm going to miss my cruise. That lasted about 3 seconds and then I remembered you were doing another cruise before getting on the Wonder. Whew!!! I'm so glad I'm not going to miss my cruise. I think my heart just started beating again. LOL!
Enjoy your FIRST cruise!

I went to book a dummy cabin for our cruise on dcl and only cat 9 thru 4 are available. Looks like all 12, 11 and 10's are gone.
I booked a cat 11 with a cabin assignment 11 months ago, and am still in the same sideways cabin on deck 5.
Looking forwarded to seeing everyone next Sunday.

I figure everyone is on their way already but wanted to check in.. we are finishing getting our bags together.. we got in today from Carnival Glory.. we had a good time, but there were many things that have changed with Carnival since we cruised last February and were a little disappointed.. I'll do a report on both trips when we return.. really looking forward to the disney cruise so I can see the differences..
On Glory we were supposed to go to St Maarten but were deverted because of Tropical Storm Erika.. we got to go to Grand Turk instead.. we got to stay in St Thomas until around 11 or 12 the night that we were there.. it was wonderful!! we went up to Paradise Point and got to see the sunset from up there and ate some nachos and had a few drinks.. then afterwards we went back to the ship and ordered room service and ate dinner on our balcony..
When we got back today we were disappointed with Radissons pickup.. we got our bags and a radisson bus was picking up people.. we stood there for almost an hour before another one finally came around.. lets just say I got burned sitting out there in the sun.. :sad2:
well off to bed so we can be up bright and early..

We got off the boat earlier today and are now at my DMIL's house for a few days before heading home..
so sorry that I didnt get to the meet.. by the time I realized what time it was it was too late.. we enjoyed all the FE gifts though and I wanted to thank you guys.. also Timdeeaustin.. I think you guys were coming down the hallway right after we delivered yours.. and retroloco, it was nice meeting you and your husband..
Once I get home I will do a Trip report.. this was our 11th cruise total, but our first disney cruise and I have to say we are IMPRESSED.. and totally hoooked!! We WILL be cruising again and filled out a request while onboard and waiting for a call back this coming week with the quote.. looks like it will be over Thanksgiving next year and then we are planning a few days at WDW afterwards so we can enjoy the Christmas decorations..
It was an absolute blast and we didnt nearly get to everything we wanted to..
Hope everyone enjoyed the gifts and had a great cruise!

Milton and Michele are home from the airport and back in New Jersey. It is raining here. Did you get the heavy rain as you were getting off the ship. It poured around 8:30AM, but about time we got to Budget Rental Car it cleared up. We drove to Wide World of Sports to visit with friends that work there, then we went to Disney Hollywood Studios for 2 hours before we headed back to MCO for our 3:20 PM flight home. We went on Toy Story and it was only a 30 minute wait.
We really enjoyed participating in the Fish Extender gift program. The gifts were great. We were glad that you found our little out of the way cabin on deck 5, 5013.
DH Milton is still grinning from ear to ear that we won $300 in bingo games. He made a face when I spent $$$ on the electronic wifi bingo, but he sure had fun yelling out BINGO twice in the week.
More to follow..

Mariah and I arrived home late last night. We had a wonderful trip, but are so sorry we missed you all at the DISmeet. Mariah and I had quite an ordeal and did not board until everyone was finishing up with the muster drill. You can read all about it here, but grab a tissue first.

We were so sad when we thought we wouldn't be able to sail. I thought of all the FE gifts and magnets that wouldn't be used:( It made it all the sweeter when our first FE gifts started arriving. Thank you to everyone. I couldn't believe all the wonderful gifts and creativity of you all.
