Has anyone ever started a thread where you took a photo once a month while you are on your diet? For example when you start, take a starting photo...post it here and then post a photo every month after?
If there is one, that would be great! It always encourages me to see others on the same path.
So is there one? :)

This is a great idea! I might even start with just a head shot- I notice weight loss in my face pretty quickly.....

Great idea to post it. I have taken a picture, not one I will share as I had hubby take it when I just got out of the shower so I could see a change anywhere! But I will get him to take one a little later that I can post.

I was thinking about doing this too. If I make a commitment to post a photo monthly, then I'll be more likely to not slack off. I guess its some sort of accountability....The question is, am I really committed? LOL I should be since we just purchased an exercise machine!

Well, I did it. I looked at a photo took in 2005 when I was 147 and today's picture I'm at 200. It's sad....but it's an eye opener. I now know what I need to do.

I've been there done that too :( Hang in there.
I lost 30 lbs after I had DS and then I gained it back. It took so long to take off...Why did I let it happen? Not to mention as you get older the fat displaces to other areas!
After 13 years I think I'm finally committed to try and do again.

I don't officially have pics, but I do compare one month to the other. I am a camera person (I carry it with me 24/7), so there are new pics every week! I will pull a few for the last few weeks today and post them.

There are 3 very unflattering ones and then one that I believe is more realistic.
I weighed 219.2 lbs in these photos and continued to weigh that until October 14, 2008.
From October 14 to the end of November I lost 14 lbs, but gained more than 6 back (ouch)!! So as of Jan 1, I started again.
My "NEW" starting weight was 212, and as of this morning I am 203.8  can you say HAPPY DANCE!! I am very happy that I am sticking to it so far and actually seeing results. I think the little bit of excersize is helping a lot.
I have also tried to eliminate salt (or at least llimit it) and I drink more than my 8 glasses of water every day.
I am doing WW online, but have not really gotten into the new momentum program, I am sticking to what I know and it is working. **Fingers Crossed**.
Can't wait to see some other pics!!

I decided to make it official. I went to storage and hunted down my "when I am skinny" bikini I bought years ago (literally) and have yet to wear. I am putting it on tonight and taking the "before" photo. Cant wait to see it :scared: , but I will have some good comparisons to look back at when I can actually wear it in public!

How's everyone doing?
Okay, I went to Weight Watchers today. I weigh 164.1.
I signed up for the online part too so hopefully I will track what I eat faithfully. Pepsi is my downfall so I'm going to try to only drink 3 cans a week verses 1 1/2 cans per day. You get 35 extra points and 1 can is equal to 3 points. I've even thought of having a can a day, but I know Pepsi is not good for you...but I love it!
Starting the diet on Tuesday. My goal is to stick to WW, drink 5 cups of water to start and exercize 5 days a week on my Pilates machine.
Wish me luck!!!

Dizneydawn-you are doing great. You are already down 14 lbs and that is a great ccomplioshemnt. Dont butt shots do it every time..I saw one of mine in Disney and it shocked me..somehow it always looks bigger in other peoples cameras :rotfl2:

Hey Dairyou-congrats on signing up for WW,that is a great step and I have to tell you, your weight is one of my goals, lol .
Soda..ack that is part of your downfall..Im telling you replace the soda with something else, like water or even crystal light and the weight and bloat will surely come off but I know what its like when you really love something..so just making those smalll cut backs like youre doing will help as well.
I had another good week I lost 3 lbs. That brings me to a total of 6 lbs in two weeks. I haven't started working out yet. I know I need to start. (I just need 49 lbs more to lose.)
Hey NC State-
6lbs is terrific, and like you said you havent even started working out,so that will sure help too!!!!!
Hi Raenstoirm--where is that bikini shot?? I think the last bikini I wore was when I was 6 so good for you. One of my big goals is to actually wear a bathing suit again and to go swimming. I used to love to swim but really am just too ashamed to wear a bathing suit in public just now..so again a goal..
but break out those photos!
By the way Im Marcy..would love to join in with you guys. Im on the WISH boards as well doing the BL challenge but would love to join you here too.Pictures are a huge motivator and a huge scare tactic ..well for me at least.
somehow I never look as big as I am in my own mirror but when I see a pix of myself..oh geez..the truth is right there.
I have about 100 lbs to lose to get to the health standards goal for myself but hey I dont remember even being born that small, lol so Im taking it one step at a time and probably setting 75lbs as my big goal and then going from there.
I will post some full body shots before..ack dont laugh..please !!!!
and then will update monthly..great thread and great idea.
I already signed up to do the WDW2010 half marathon with no physical activity experience at all :confused3 so this will be a huge motivator for me.I ordered a treadmill which should be here in about 2 weeks and I am so excited.,
as for eating..Im already down 80 lbs..I am a raw foods chef and instructor but fell off the wagon holiday time so gained some of that back -plus I still had way more to lose so my challenge is there and I accept it 100%. this new year is about me and change and I will be a healthier more active person if it kills me..well not kill me but wear me out in a sweaty treadmill coma, hows that :lmao:

Hey Amy,,sorry I missed you,my quote post never stuck.
You make an adorable Wilma, the other 2 Flintstones are adorable too!!!
How are you finding the new WW program?..I know so many people that have had success with WW so good for you! You have already had a great weight loss so congrats and I agree with you.,drinking more water will help!
Do you know they say you should drink half your body weight in water a day,,man I would float away :rotfl2: but Im trying it..I bought 2 separate pitchers to keep with just my water intake for the day and man ...a visual to see how much you drank and how much more to go is a great help. kind of like posting photos of ourselves..which I must say is very brave of all of us and I will do mine tonight I promise, lol
Have a great day and drink that water.I just filled a glass myself.

I am 6 ft tall

Today I used 19.5 points of my 21 daily. I had wheat toast w/tsp butter and a slice of deli turkey. For lunch I had a can of Progresso soup with an apple. I was pretty hungry most of the day so I need to eat more. Plus the cupboards were empty of healthy food and I had to go to the store after work. For dinner I ended up having a cup of cook rice with 2 eggs added. My mock fried rice...lol For dessert I had a Fudgesicle. I'm not hungry and I drank all my water. I only did 10 min. on my Pilates because somebody messed with the straps and I couldn't figure out how to undo it. Hopefully I will have enough motivation to get back on it tomorrow.

Hi everyone.
Well, 2 1/2 weeks in and I am doing OK. I am down a total of 9.6lbs. I am finding the water drinking so easy this time, but I am struggling with the balanced meals. I am staying under my points, but I know I am still not eating "heathly" - KWIM? For example, here is yesterday:
Oatmeal/Milk - 4 points
Water (x 4)
Chili - 6 points
Fat Free Pudding - 2 points
Water (x 2)
Orange - 1 point
Water (x2)
Egg Beaters, scrambled - 2 points
Whole Grain toast - 3 points
with butter - 2 points
Fat free Pudding - 2 points
Water (x 3)
Total Points - 22, allowed 26
But...as you can see I am not getting those fruits and vegies in. I really struggle with this.
On a high note, my jeans feel awful!! I bought them when I was 219.2 and now I am 202.4, so they are baggy to say the least. I will not let myself get a new pair until I am 195 or less, so for now it is belts and baggy-butt - LOL.
I also have not excersized enough. I tend to do it once a week at the most, but tonight is Yoga, so that will help. 1 1/2 hours of stretching and zen ;)
Hope everyone is well, and congrats on all the losses!!!

A coworker of mine has toast in the morning and when I asked her what it was it only equaled 2 points!
She takes a double wheat english muffins and toasts it. Then she takes a Baby Bell Swiss Creamy cheese (a wedge) and spreads it on top. It was so yummy and only 2 points! I'm not a huge breakfast eater so this was just right.
Thought I'd share in case any of you are interested :)

Well, we are snowed in and all I can think about is FOOD! I'm staying strong!
You can do it!! I am always slow at work and find I want to munch, but I only bring my lunch and that is all I have. I do not keep snacks here anymore (for that reason!!). Drink your water, walk your stairs, do anything - but eat!! Good luck!!

I took them (well technically my husband took them). I got 4 shots, one from each perspective. The back shot is what really makes me go "yuck!" Its not my butt or my thighs it is my actual back. I am so wide! I plan on taking the same 4 shots in the same suit every Friday. When i start to see progress, I may just post them. Right now, NO WAY!:rotfl2:
Oh and :welcome: to our little group!
I want to see that photo!! You have to share!!
I think you're doing great! Baggy jeans is such a good thing!:cheer2:
Yeah, baggy jeans are cool, but they sure look like crap. You know what I am talking about, the baggy bum and the droopy front. They kind of make you feel frumpy and dumpy. But, another 7.2 lbs and I will reward myself with some new ones :)
Have a good day ladies!!

I also have not excersized enough.
You eat and sound like me. Durning the Biggest Loser last night I got on the floor and did a few things just so I wasn't just "sitting".
I started Jan 4th at 200 lb, I have never weighted this much and I'm 5'1" so I look like a tea pot! I keep looking at a picture of myself in 2005 when I was 145 lbs, boy I can't believe I let myself go!

Thinking of having an agreement with my fiance...if I make my goals...I get a 20 minute massage...if no goal...no massage...I love them and that may actually make it work for me...gotta want something daily for this crud...I am greedy...:rotfl2:

I officially started today. I've drank 5 cups of water and did not have any Pepsi yet! Though it is only 10:00 am...lol
How are the rest of you doing?
Deb
I have had about 6 glasses. My weakness is sweat tea. But I have a headache now.
Hey Deb--you did great yesterday with your points and food choices..good for you. so did you stay away from the evil Pepsi??? :rotfl2:
sorry about the weather...thats the worst when you feel trapped in the house with food that is all around you. I hope you had some healthy choices to choose from ..if not..it was just one day and you can have a good clean start for today
Welcome...arent pix a great motivator. I took mine the other night and ACK.,,it was downright scary..totally different then I envision myself in my own mind, lol
but I have to tell you, your pix arent brutal. You definitely dont look your weight. I heard turbojam was cool,so that will be a great help and water and fruits and veggies are really your friends!! They will fill you up so that you wont need to have the other junk. Just keep the foods prepared in your fridge, like cut up fruit or carrot sticks with a healthy hummus or dip. know what your triggers are and try to plan ahead for them.you can do this!!!
Im doing okay, yesterday I had a great start on my green smoothies plan but then caved at dinnertime and had a cooked vegan meal, not bad at all compared to the way Ive eaten in the past so all in all it was a good day.
so far this morning,,im off to another good tasty green smoothie for breakfast. yesterdays smoothie for lunch did not do it for me at all,,bad combos or something,,,it had basil in it which Ive never had before so that might be it..but Im having a pineapple gazpacho for lunch and it looks yummy.
hope you all have a great day!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
The piscture was a great motivator for me. I cringe evertime I see itLOL.
Laughed at the pic cause we are so much alike...except I am 5'4 so picture your weight and 8 inches shorter...:scared: see now don't you feel better?
I can tell you that one of the secrets I have...is the thread I started on this section over a year ago...daily interaction ( like 3-4 pages of posts a day) with awesome women who hold each other accountable and still lend an understanding ear...we have not all posted pics of progress though...so I am glad this thread was started...I think we need to go recruit from some other threads to get more pics here...we could all use motivation...so let's get this thread hopping!:grouphug:
LOL!! Thanks! I just feel yucky KWIM? I really appreciate the support.
You know, I had to look at the photo twice, but you really do not look 258. Isn't it funny how we can pick apart our own photos, but yet look at someone else's and not see flaws?
You can lose the 30 lbs, I know you can!!

Welcome everyone! I can't see your pictures yet because I'm at work. Just think how fun it will be to look back when we've all lost some weight :)
Naten, maybe instead of going cold turkey you can treat yourself to sweet tea once a week or maybe instead of having 2 cups you can have a half a cup a day. Maybe your headaches won't be so bad. I love Pepsi so I tell myself I can have it (extra WW points) but I haven't had a drink yet. I keep playing with how I can spend those extra 35 points...lol It's a total mind game for me.
Last night I really wanted the Lorna Doone 100 calorie pack. I wasn't hungry I just wanted it. I brushed my teeth and call it a night. I know once I brush my teeth I stop eating. It took my an hour or two to get to that decision though..
I started WW last Saturday, but didn't diet until Tuesday. I'm thinking about not weighing this Saturday and waiting til the next. I also know if I don't loose anything I'll be in jepordy of quiting. A few extra days may help me.
Keep up the good work everyone!

I posted in the beginning that I was going to post a picture but then went to Disneyland. So here is a picture I took Jan 1st:
http://krisi616.smugmug.com/photos/459670646_dE49Z-XL.jpg
And here is one from Disneyland (with my big butt over that little fence - I thought I would break).
http://krisi616.smugmug.com/photos/458827130_3RPgX-M.jpg
I started at 280.2 and am now 274.2 (was down to 269.8 prior to Disneyland  ). Both look pretty bad! That one from the first I don't even have any ****s now -- used to be big (then nursed 2 kids for 13 months each and now they are flat and flabby!).
I am not writing my food out - I have in the past and it does help but with two little ones now I get held accountable by them - they always want some of the "bad" stuff and I won't let them have it so they tell me I can't have it either! I just don't have the extra time to write it down each day - if I feel it becomes a problem I will take something away I enjoy (scrapbooking, photograpy, etc.) but I don't want to!

Great job on not eating those cookies. My rule is I have to drink a full glass of water before any treat (which would be ONE cookie, ONE hershey kiss, ONE anything I am wanting but doesn't qualify as healthy) so if I want TWO kisses then TWO full glasses of water - I usually do one glass one kiss then another glass ... by the time I am done another full glass I don't want that second kiss!

Deb - go weigh in. Do not put it off. You are doing really good based on what you have written here and even a 1 or 2 lb weight loss is better than not going at all. We are not on the Biggest Loser, we are real people and we should expect to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week. I know that sounds frightening (trust me at 2 lbs per week that is 31 weeks for me - or 6 MONTHS!!). But we have to remember we did not get this way over night and we cannot expect to undo it overnight either.

Good Job! I read in another post today (Community Board) that someone ate their Weight Watchers frozen entree, drank their water ect and then went and had a filled doughnut ;) I guess one of her coworkers brought in doughnut. I'm so proud of you!
Now someone brought in a carton of Biscotti covered with chocolate from Costco today. I really wanted one even though it's one of those items I wouldn't eat if I wasn't dieting. I resisted but since it came from Costco, you know it'll take a while for everyone to finish!

Hi everyone!!
Just a quick note to wish everyone a great weekend!! RESIST those lazy, weekend temptations!!
We are going out tonight and I am trying to decide what to drink that will not be "that" bad. I mean Paralyzers are all fat and that is what I usually drink. I do not want to skip it all together as I want to incorporate this into my life, not delete these things altogether. So I am off to search less fatty drinks online.
Last night both DH and I were craving fast food, so we resisted by making burgers with whole grain buns and fries (baked not deep fried) at home. Not a great meal, but it satisfied our craving in a healthier way.
Tomorrow I am going to an all day Scrapbooking event and there will be trouble!! I always snack at those events. So this time I am bringing my water bottle, my lo-cal hot chocolate mix and hoping to drown that cravings with water!! We will see how that goes :(
Well, again, have a great weekend everyone!!

I hate when I feel like I cheated but I really didn't :( Ugh. I had two servings of pasta tonight. It was sundried tomatoe with a 1/4 cup of olive oil between 4 servings. Some parmasan cheese...like 4 tablespoons. I still have my 35 extra points for the week and have 6 activity points so I know I haven't gone over. I just feel like I did by eating double servings. It was so tasty I had to have another serving! After dinner I did more exercise. I still feel like I failed. I have to realize this is the way I am. I do it exactly right or not at all. I have to learn to be in the middle somewhere.

You have to erase FAILURE from your vocab!! (Sorry to sound bossy ;) ) We all have bumps in the road! And we all have LIFE!! Remember to not look at this as a diet, but a lifestyle change!! Diet is a 4 letter word!! We are changing our lives and there are times that we are going to struggle!! We have to overcome these struggles and face them and then move on!!
OK Off my soapbox :)
So, for me, not so good, but livable:
Friday - Drinks and Dessert mmmmmm it was all so good!! I had lots of water and limited the drinks, but I did enjoy a couple of samples of dessert.
Saturday - Crop. Did goo until the afternoon and then I munched, had too much supper, and did not drink enough water. BAD BAD DAY!!
Sunday - bad day!! Had leftovers from Friday (chips and dessert) that were hanging around the house. I should've thrown them out, but I thought I would be strong. Yup, I was wrong. I was not strong and I ate some of each. Oh well.
So Friday morning I was at 202.0 which is down 10 lbs!! And today I am at 205.0 which is back up 3 :upsidedow ROLLAR COASTER!!!!
Oh well, another week and this one will be better, right???

I went to WW on Saturday and didn't weigh in so I'm excited for Saturday coming up. Weekends seems easier for me because since I don't have to work I usually eat around 11:00. I know, it's bad to skip breakfast but I wasn't hungry and normally I'm not a breakfast eater. But I had more points to spread out during the day.
Last night I had 5 extra points so I had a little piece of brownie and a few Doritos. Yum...what a difference between baked chips!
How did everyone else do?

But you are DOWN 10!! And soooo close to ONEderland!!!! You are going great!! Keep up the good work!!!:cheer2:

I think I am more excited to find out how much you have lost than I am for me!! The suspense is killing me:lmao:
I tried my Turbo JAM video today. I only did the 20 min video and was soaked with sweat and thought I was going to die.:upsidedow But excercising in the morning gives me more energy for the rest of the day.
So all my water is done for the day but we are going Bowling:scared1: Lots of fried food:rolleyes2

I had someone at work today ask me if I had lost some weight (they didn't know that I was on WW now). So that made me feel really good that people are beginning to notice. With only 10 lbs I'm not having to go to a smaller size yet.
It's here my beginners Pilates DVD came in today. My husband just gave it to me when I'm needing to go to bed. Well, I'll try it out tomorrow!

His job as an electrician has kept him busy this long and for that we are thankful :) We're a little short every month with his unemployment but if I get another parttime job we won't have to dip into savings at all. I feel your pain, my husband knew his job was going out of business so he took another job back in the summer/fall and it's been short every month with us. We were planed to go to WDW in Oct and stay at CSR. Well we moved the date up to "value" season and changed back to Pop. We were able to save $788 just making those changes. But hey, I'm happy we're still going to Disney.;)

I started Yoga in November and then had to quit due to my tonsilectomy. The classes restarted last night (finally) and I can tell a big difference. In November, I was 17 lbs heavier, and it is already so much easier to move now. I actually enjoyed it a lot!! I am looking forward to finishing these classes and looking into Pilates. So, even though, as I said above, I cannot see the difference, I can feel it. YEAH FOR ME!!
Good for you for sticking with your Pilates so far!!:thumbsup2

You are losing, forget the numbers!! The scale can lie, it really can. Pay attention to how your clothes are fitting and how you are feeling and the weight will come off. I have always found that I am about a week behind. If I have a great week, I lose 1 to 2 lbs and get discouraged, but the next week I may lose 3 to 4 without having a great week. So, see what you are at next week before you get discouraged.

See, as I said above, you are just a few days behind. It will all catch up to you. Keep up the good work!!
Well, I had an OK week. Nothing too great. I finished off January at 201.0 - down 11 lbs from Jan. 3. I was hoping for 13 lbs, so I could be at 199, but hey I will take it.
I have been trying to get pregnant for a while, and on Friday I was put on Parlodel to help. I have been sick ever since. I can barely drink water. I have been able to have some crackers and toast, but that is about it. I know that this is not going to help the weight loss, so I am just trying to stay hydrated. I did not go to work today, and wonder if I will go tomorrow.
So, back to my goals. I want to be at 189 lbs for March 1st, so I have to lose 12 lbs this month.
I am not feeling it in my clothes yet, but I can see a few changes.
Well, hope everyone has a great week!!

We have been trying for about 6 months this time (before this we tried for a year and gave up). It is different with #2, as we are proud parents already and are more relaxed about it. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, we have a beautifull little girl that we love to death!!
So, weight loss, not a good week. For someone who has barely eaten, I have not lost any weight either. I am assuming that is because of the dehydration and therefore water retention. I am hoping after Yoga tonight I am back on track.
I have not been eating very well this week as most of my meals consist of crackers or toast, but hey getting sick is part of life too.
Still looking for that Mar 1 goal of 189!!!

I am still kicking around. No weight loss here since the weekend. I know I am in for a BAD weekend this weekend as we are going away. But, that is OK. It is not like this will happen all the time - once in a while is not too bad.
I was feeling really good and tried on some of my summer clothes to see how "big" they were and found that I am not really losing in bum/hips area yet. It seems to be waist up for me (that is why my shirts are fitting better). Oh well, patience, it will come.
Take care everyone and have a great weekend!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Don't let yourself do that, think about how you felt before...be strong and think "I can do this for me".:)

I'm trying. I'm an all or nothing person so I'm learning to be in the middle. If I do one thing off the program I feel like I cheated and ready to give up. So it's been a learning curve for me.

Just weighed in and I lost 1 lb this week, that's OK with me because it's "that time of the month". I'm staying on track but I"m still not working out. I just can't get myself up and move. I don't have to unbotton my weekend jeans anymore before I would wear a long shirt so you couldn't see that they were unbotton. I'm waiting to take my picture on March 4th it's my two month mark. I keep telling myself think postive, this is for me!

I don't have any pictures to post but I can post daily and hopefully help others stay on track.
After having 2 kids- I finally lost almost 50lbs and in 2007 became WW lifetime. However, I let life get in the way and I gained 20lb of it back and that is where I am now. I started back 7 weeks ago at 185.8 and now down to 176.6. My loss has been much slower this time but I guess being 2 years older is catching up.
I am not following the new WW momentum program as I am sticking with what I know - the old points system. I also started running - a first for me. I went from computer chair to 5k in 4 weeks so I am tickled pink but definitely fight the daily battle to stick with it. DH and I are also registered for the 2010 Disney 1/2 marathon. He is an avid runner in the Army so obviously he is in great shape but fortunately is very supportive.
Things that seem to work for me.
I have an excel spreadsheet that I track my daily meals. I preplan the night before making sure that I am getting my healthy 8's and it stops me from straying into the bad food category. I am also always eating it seems. I have always followed 5 smaller meals then 3 larger ones. I am not a fruits person so that is a constant battle.
I have read all 8 pages and everyone is doing great.

I agree about planning ahead that works for me. On Saturdays I plan my week in meals so I know what to pickup at the store. I plan each day the night before and write everthing down that I eat....this really works for me. I just need to get out of my computer chair!!

I lost 2 lbs this week.
I'm starting to get used to this lifestyle change but at time it is still hard. I notice I'm very regimented during the week but when the weekend comes I tend to eat a little more. So I'll have a few cookies on Saturday night. I try to not to eat my extra 35 points so I can live a little easier on the weekend :)

2lbs in a week is Fabulous!!!
I absolutely must have and thus plan my points accordingly to feed my sweet tooth. I find that the fat free pudding or the skinny cow ice creams (1 pt each) really can do the trick.

Can I join in on this too?? I need some motivation!
My name is Jen, I'm 27 years old and last night I joined Weight Watchers. I never lost the 60 pounds from when I had my DS2. And then I gained an extra 20 pounds on top of that! Yikes!!
Today was the first official day of me tracking my points and I think I did a great job. After dinner I still had 6 points left my MIL (who has been doing WW for awhile now) told me that I have to eat those points because it will help me with my weight loss...I feel like I've eaten so much today...lol who ever thought a diet would be that way??
As long as I eat on a regular schedule (which I never did before), keep track of all my points and exercise a few times a week (which I haven't been doing hence 20 pound weight gain AFTER my DS was born).
We're going to WDW at the end of September (my DH's first trip!!) and I want to feel good so I'm not tired the whole time walking around there.
The real shocker was when I got on the scale last night and found out I weighed 280lbs (AHHHH!!). It was a real eye opener for me that I need to do something about this. I know I'm 6ft tall and all, but if I let myself continue on this path, it's going to get uglier.
I would like to lose at least 30lbs before our trip in September. That's a start right? I've never tried to lose weight before like this so I don't know what a good, reachable goal would be.
I will post a pic after I get enough courage to let my DH take one (I've been hiding from camera's for awhile now) and when I figure out how to post on this thing...
I've been reading thread and all you ladies are truly doing an amazing job! Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone!!
I was MIA for a couple weeks, but now I am back. I had a great weigh in this morning - I am at 195.6 (down 16.4 lbs since Jan 3!!). Still not at my new jeans, another 0.6 lbs to go, but I am hoping by the weekend that will come off too.
I have been focusing on water and portions. I kind of gave up counting points so I really am not officially a Weight Watcher anymore, but I am sticking to my new look at food. I find that I no longer eat when I am not hungry, and it is not even that hard anymore. I just chose not to eat, and that is that.
My only downfall is salty foods, so I try to keep them to a minimum and drink a lot of water with them. Oh, and alcohol on the weekends, but then too I drink a glass of water between each drink. Therefore I drink less alcohol and stay hydrated with the water.
Still waiting to find out if I am pregnant, will know this weekend. I am torn between excited to get pregnant and have a baby and not excited about the weight gain!! But this time I have sworn I will not "eat for 2" like I did last time. I will eat healthy balanced meals until I feel satisfied (this is much easier to say right now when I am not craving ice cream like I did last time:laughing: )
Welcome newcomers!! I will post some more photos soon, I really want to hit that 20lb mark before I do, but only 3.6 lbs to go!!

Welcome everyone. It is the end of the month and I will work on posting a photo to show my progress, and since this is a thread about photos, where are the others? This is great motivation to keep us on track.
I started the first phase of my exercising in February, after starting the consumption change in December. I started at 293 pounds and my weigh-in yesterday for the Biggest Loser Challenge was 262.2. I have spent this month on cardio (treadmill, stationary bike) and getting prepared for the half-marathon next January. And because I was an athlete early in life I have ran through the times when I wanted to quit, but I established goals for each workout and I hate not meeting those challenges. And this last Thursday I ran 6 miles, while watching four episodes of the Simpson's second season.
This month I will add another type of workout, along with the cardio. I have not decided yet, but probably more crunch workouts to work on my "washboards":rolleyes1
So sometime today I will post my starting photo and end of February photo as an update.
How about everyone else?

Well here we are. Over two months on a new lifestyle and I think I see a difference. I know my clothes fit MUCH better and I feel healthier. I do have much more weight to lose but I know it takes time and effort. After all, gaining the weight takes time and no effort, so I guess the choice is clear.

I'm glad your feeling full and have extra points at the end. Your mother is right make sure to eat all your points. I found one week that I was trying to go under my daily points and I only lost 1 lbs that week. Due to my great supporters on this thread they told me not to give up and I was able to loose more the next week :)

You are doing great on your plan! I have been on plan but not going to meetings. I think one more week of being on plan and then I am trying to go on it by myself. Like you I have the routine down and look at food differently now. I think I will be okay. I love salty foods to. Like chips and Pepsi....or two greasy tacos from jack in the box and a pepsi. Everything goes good with Pepsi...lol
You'll have to let us know if you're pregnant. What an exciting time. You can always diet when you get done having the baby. Plus is faster to loose weight when you are breast feeding? Or is that a myth? Anyways, I'm 45 and have two teenage boys, but if I could I would have had another. Of course it's too late now.

Okay. I've lost another 3 lbs this week. I am down a total of 10 lbs for the last 1 1/2 months. I've been eating a spoonful of ice cream here and there but have exercised 40 minutes a day (weekdays) on my pilates machine. Like I said before I will go one more week on plan if I loose a little more I'm going to try it on my own without the points :scared1: Scary! I think I'm disciplined enough to do it though.
I went to Target today and tried on a size 10 jeans which were to loose and a size 8 which was a little tight. I'm not going to buy any clothes until I loose more but I'm motivated since I was a size 12 to start with.. Not good on my 5'2" frame!

Feeling a little discouraged...
I started Weight Watchers last Tuesday. And I have to say that I am doing a really good job of using only my points. I went over one day by 5 points, but that's why they give you the extra 35 points for the week anyway. I've been working out a little bit, but not as much as I should be because of my schedule being so hectic this week.
I'm feeling like my family and my husband aren't being supportive. My husband tonight was trying to get me to eat McDonald's with him after I had already had dinner and I don't have any points left...it's frustrating...I just feel like I don't have a good support system within my family...I don't know, maybe I'm just whining :sad1:
I know I have to do this to get healthy...and like I said, I think doing great, but a part of me really wanted a double cheeseburger from McD's this evening...though I wasn't hungry! ggrrrrrrr
One great thing is that it's been 5 days and no caffine and no SODA!!!! That was the biggest hurdle for me to overcome. I got over the headaches after day 2 and haven't craved it...I know it's been 5 days, but that's a very big step for me :yay:
So we'll see if this is paying off for me on Tuesday when I go to Weight Watchers...I hope I lose at least a pound...I'm just afraid that I'm not going to have lost anything...
Okay I'm done complaining and now I'm going to focus on being postitive!
I can do this right?
Hope everyone is having a good weekend...I'll post again after my meeting on Tuesday!

Yes you can do this!!!!
Way to go on the soda - gosh I hate those caffeine headaches. I am still drinking my 2 cups of coffee each morning. I cut back to 1 on Saturday and was nearly knocked out by that headache. So I am very impressed by your 5 days.
Definitely don't stress over using any of those 35 extra points. That is what they are there for. When I made my WW lifetime I was ignorant at first to believe that I would do better without them - they are definitely there for a reason. Now I have found that it's best to shock the system - I don't use 5 each day for 7 days. Some weeks I will splurge on a Saturday and have dinner out and use 25 of them - other weeks I may use 1 or 2 all week. This way my body never gets into a pattern/rut.
I hope the scale rewards you BUT even if it doesn't because water retention can be an evil thing - stay positive and realize that you are doing the right thing

Not gaining many times is way better than not losing..:yay: :yay:
I am starting week 9 tomorrow and I wished I had taken starting pictures.. I know I definitely lost in my face which definitely makes me feel better.
I am still not seeing results on the scale but my clothes are rewarding me by being big and baggy so I will take that any day.
I started running on Feb 1st and logged 39.34 miles for the month which I will say I am pretty darn proud of from going from computer chair to treadmill practically overnight.
I was lazy this weekend and didn't do anything Friday/Saturday and today was rain all day but I just did 2 miles to clear my head.
So here's to another healthy weekend. Drink water - skip the sweets and walk a few extra steps :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Very cute Deb, you look to be a good size now without a lot of dieting. I wished I looked that good in shorts! I have a lot of 8-10 sized shorts but I got to get out these 16 sized ones.

Thank you very much for your compliment ;) Keep sticking to your plan and think by summer you could be in those old shorts! My goal is to be done with this diet by summer.
Unfortunately I still have a "muffin top" above my waist. Also by medical standards I'm supposed to weigh at the most 137 and I'm 154. I just hide it well with clothing. By medical standards I still have alot to go :(
I want to look good but more important I want to be off my high blood pressure medicine. The doctor keeps telling me I'm borderline diabetic. Eventually when I become a grandma I want to take my grand kids to DisneyWorld and be able to walk around and play with them. I'd like to take them camping and have them stay at my house for the summer. I've seen my mother who can barely walk miss alot with my own children.
Believe me today I wanted to quit. I'm at home today taking care of a sick teenager and it is tempting to stay home and eat what I want. DH is home tomorrow so I'll be able to go to work and be more disciplined. But...we are having a luncheon for a coworker so I'll have to try and beat temptation again tomorrow! It doesn't take much to fall of the wagon and it's hard to get back on track. I had such a good routine going. It worries me that I'll gain the weight back when I'm finally finished with the dreaded process.

I give all of you who posted "unposed" pics credit! Those can be the worst but sometimes the kick in the butt you need! Good luck with the life style change!
A few years ago I lost 50 lbs., going from 18 to a 6. At 5'9", I couldn't maintain the 135 without severe calorie restriction. 140-145 is good for me but a combo of being busy and being stressed (aren't we all) and sheer gluttony and laziness (being honest!) have gotten me to almost 160! I need to lose 15 lbs. by our June trip. I know that may not seem like a lot to some of you, but I lost big a few years ago and my slight gain just illustrates the fact that it is a lifestyle change, not a diet. You can't keep a diet up forever, kwim?
Again, best of luck. I know what a struggle it is!

I went to the gym 4 days out of 7 and I walked for 30 mins each day. I'm going 1.66 miles in 30 mins. I feel so much better and I feel that things are firming up. No change in weight so I'm happy!

Hey Everyone!
It's good to hear all are doing well. I am not loosing weight but gaining weight. I continue to exercise 5 days a week and I just switched to an aerobic video verses my pilates. I miss the pilates because it was starting to get a little easier but maybe that's why I'm not loosing weight. The video is not too difficult I'm just not coordinated...lol
I'm still the same size but the numbers are not going down. I think I'm stressing over this too. Oh well I'll just keep trying. That's all I can do right?

I had my weigh-in last night at WW and I lost another 3.4 lbs :cool1: Making my total weight lost 9.6lbs in three weeks. I definately can start feeling it in my clothing. Sunday I was able to put on a pair of jeans I hadn't worn in over a year and they fit very well.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'll write more later, now I'm off to work!!

You are doing so well. I'm glad you are progressing. I hate walking!
I'm at a stand still. Trying to decide if I'm still going to be overweight or keep going on WW. I still follow the plan but not loosing any weight what so ever. I try to tell myself why I'm doing this but not loosing anything is hard.

I lost another 1.2 lbs this week at my weigh in! I'm up to 10.8 total in one month. I'm pretty darn excited about that. I would have updated sooner, but this week has been killer busy for me. Hope everyone is well!!

I'm doing good. Thanks for thinking of me. I've been exercising for over an hour daily just trying to get back to loosing weight. I haven't lost anything for 3 weeks now. It's discouraging but I really want to loose this weight. Now ask me tomorrow and I might quit lol
Our poor thread has been neglected...how is everyone else doing?

Deb please stay strong for yourself...I hope you hang in there and remember it's for you and no one else. You haven't lost anything for 3 weeks that's great that's means that you haven't gained so you're doing something right. Stay in there girl you can do it.

Weekly check in, I'm down another pound, it just seems so slow. I only made it to the gym three days this week and that maybe the problem. I'll take a pound as long as I'm not gaining.

Okay, I jumped on the scale and gained a total of 4 to 5 lbs. I feel bloated so I'm hoping that is a contributing factor. Though I doubt it is a total of 5 lbs though ;)
I've been exercizing like crazy. I guess I told myself it was okay to eat more when I've been exercising but it must not be so. Today is Monday so I'm back to the basics. Following Weight Watchers to the tee is what I'm going to do.
The great thing in all this is when I exercise it's not as hard as it used to be. I can do an hour of my kickboxing video and I'm not dying on the floor. My goal is to be a healthy, active Granny someday so I guess I'm on the right track. The weight will hopefully follow!

Checking in a day early, this will be a hard weekend to stay on program. I lost 2 lbs so that means I'm at 20 lbs. I was sick for two days with a virus so I did try to eat rice, pasta and crackers just to keep something down. I will try really hard to pass the Easter candy and we have two Easter dinners to attend with family. I hate to think what the scale will tell me come next weekend! Hope everyone have a wonderful Easter!

Hi Everyone!
It's been a long time I know! How is everyone?
I've decided to take a break from "dieting". I'm still very careful of what I eat but don't deny myself too much. Yesterday the boys had Baskin Robbins and I stole a few bites from each of them. I'm still not drinking Pepsi. I do notice I let myself have it 2 xs last week and I was starting to crave it again.
I'm still exercising so if I can maintain where I am now and pick up again in a couple of months I will be happy. I was really hoping to be done by summertime, but then we're never really "done" are we?
Hope you're all doing well!
