I was just going through my pictures that I took at the Fort last year and came across this one. I was down at the beach by the marina and heading towards the Swamp Trail looking for deer. I came across many tracks, ducks, deer, dogs and this one which I thought was a bear track.
Of course if it is a bear track, our Florida bears are very docile, shy and nocturnal. But I've not heard of anyone seeing a bear at the fort.
Input please.....

If that's a bear paw print, it better be a Pooh Bear or Fort Wilderness has seen the last of us!

Looks like a Dog track to me, there are lots of them at FW. There also Gators around the area, rather have a Bear them them...

That's not a bear print. I ride 4 wheelers in Ocala Nat'l Forest a lot and have seen quite a few bear down there. They have big pads and leave a print that is very round.

I'm sure there are black bear on Disney property being that there is so much. With all the development I'm sure from time to time one pops out. As a matter of fact, there was one at Universal in the pool area of Portofino Bay I believe it was. They are pretty shy and I've always seen them run away.

It's only mine if it had 4 left feet!

Don't worry about the bears, though. The coyotes scare them away from the camping areas. :scared1:

I saw a bear take on an otter once. The otter whipped him in the 2nd round and never even let go of his beer. Didn't spill a drop!

You guys are VERY good. :worship:
I just finished checking out a animal tracking website and a bear print looks more human than this print. Just like you said, five toes and a big pad and claws.
AND, a dog print looks REAL close to the picture. Very good.
I better not hire out as an animal tracker. I would be in hot pursuit of a black bear and .....end up over at the dog park. :confused3

Yes there are bares at FW. I have been known to leave bare tracks at FW, but only very early in the morning while hunting pieces of soap to make Frankensoap.

WHAT!!

I thought you guys were kidding.....are you serious? I don't want to take my girls camping in a pop up (or even an army tank) with coyotes and bears!

Coyotes are a joke, bears are not likely. I don't think anyone here has ever seen one at the Fort (thousands of Fort days experience). Fear not!

You should all be ashamed of yourselves for scaring the Fort out of me! Geez....it's like a whole room full of my older brother! ;)

He told me that baby sharks lived in the city plumbing system and could get into the tub through the drain.
He told me my birth family set me out by the curb and mom and dad only picked me up because they were afraid the garbage men would toss me. (No, I am not adopted)
He told me that dog food tasted like cookies

Yes, I did find out that none of these things were true
