My neighbor has a bunch of small plants that I would like to have also, so of course she cannot remember the name.;)

They are perennials, very small - only about 6 inches high. They have very small (about 1/2 inch) light lavendar colored flowers. The flowers look like tiny daisies, but purple.

I have been searching thru plant databases on the web, to no avail. I hope someone here can help. Thanks!

Doesn't sound quite right - but could it be a pincushion flower?

Nope, the flower is not full like a pincushion. It only has 5 - 6 petals each. This is making me nuts!

Is it maybe a version of a forget-me-not? Although listed as an "annual" they tend to self-seed and come back year after year.

I was going to suggest forget me not too.

I think they are actually a biennial, but there are several versions of this flower. This year I have the type that have created sort of a "mat", and they are very low and spread across the ground. I also have some that came up last year, and they were about 8 inches high, with multiple flowers on each stem. The flowers all seem to look alike, but the foliage has several different varieties.
Hope this helps.

Hi sorcerormickey! :)

Why not take a small piece of the plant to your nearest garden centre? Someone there should be able to indentify it for you. :)

I was thinking it may be related to the forget-me-nots, because I have the usual blue ones, and these have a similar form. I'll have to check out a garden center to find out the specifics. Thanks everyone!!!!!!:) :)

Could it possibly be an aster?

ccbob, that was my guess too. What kind of leaves do they have? Are they like a phlox?

Nope, I don't think its an aster. It is similar in form and habit to a phlox, but the flowers look like tiny little daisies, with only 5-6 petals each.
