Hee hee, I think you can cut yourself a little slack on Valentine's Day.

That is so awesome about the championship! You must be so proud of DD. :goodvibes I know what you mean about sunscreen in February. For me it was neglecting lip balm all last week and now I have the nasty chapped lips to prove it.

Amy: So glad dd won her game and got a goal (a goal is a goal;))! Don't give up on fast food, just make sure you stick to the good choices. Wendy's has some great salads and their low fat honey mustard is very good. I also like to get a plain baked potato and put a half a small chili on top, very tasty. Way better and way more filling than that fried chicken sandwich. Fried food anywhere whether its fast food, at home or at a sit down will be tough to reconicile when you figure up those calories!

I hope you take lots of pictures in the Himalaya's, I'd love to see some!

I am proud you didn't let a small rut get to be an issue, you can do it and that scale will be back under 140 very soon.

Must be something in the air, I have been struggling big time four days in row.:sad2:

Congrats to DD for her team's victories!:cheer2::cheer2:

Yes, definitely cut yourself some slack for Valentine's Day. I had a glass of wine on my birthday. and totally pigged out all weekend. Don't sweat it. You'll be back.... well sweating it out in no time.

How are the renos coming? Did DH getting anything done while you were sunning on the soccer fields?

Another good day yesterday! I have not been doing very good with my Shred (only did it one day last week), but I have been working out 5-6 days per week since the beginning of the year, so I'm not going to fret. I will have to figure out how to work it into my morning workouts, I think I am done working out after work! There is just too much going on and I am low on energy at that time. I like getting it out of the way in the mornings. :thumbsup2

For Monday:
1317 cal, 38g fat, 184g carbs, 81g protein, 46g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: FlatOut wrap w/chicken, spinach, mustard, provolone
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; fiber cake; 100 cal pack Cheez-Its :confused3
D: wheat spaghetti (no sauce) w/parmesan cheese; HC fudge bar

E: 55min Jillian

Avoided: graham crackers; pecans; Wheat Thins :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, thanks! Spring and fall are definitely my favorite times of year (and yes, I consider late Feb "spring"!)
Barb, welcome back! Yes, I am so proud of DD. She is the youngest on the team and most of the others have already played All-Stars and have a bunch of pins on their bags. DD finally got a pin on hers. :cutie:
Amy, I rarely eat fast food, and you are right, there were way better choices! I had NO idea that lunch was that many calories. That is why I like to plan, if I would have seen that before, I would never have ordered it! :eek: The stupid scale has been under 140 for a couple weeks - it just decided to jump back up there on Fri to screw up my WI... :mad: I just need to keep plugging away at it. I did try on a pair of swim shorts that were snug last summer (when I was 136!) and they fit really good now! I also modeled some of my swimsuits this morning (again) and didn't want to hurl anything at the mirror, so that tells me that I have definitely done some good. :thumbsup2
Lisa, thanks! DH has gotten all the taping and mudding done on the ceiling. We just have one area that still needs work (where we cut the walls down), but once that is done it will look sooooo nice! It already looks so much better than it did before we started!
Hopefully you'll be able to find a good spot to fit in the Shred workouts. I know what you mean because I tend to put it off and run out of time, then end up working out at 11 p.m.! I did Jillian this morning so it would be over and done with. But you've been doing really, really good with the exercise overall so be proud of yourself. :thumbsup2
I like working out in the morning too. :thumbsup2 By afternoon, I'm usually too tired and way less motivated to get a workout done, especially Shred. LOL! :laughing:
You've been doing a great job, Amy! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:
Amy&Dan
02-16-2010, 05:22 PM
Amy, there are just going to be weeks when working out for whatever reason doens't happen as much. But you always get back on track and it all evens out! If you can model swim suits without hurling objects at the mirror that says it all right there!
Can't remember if I have given you this or not but here goes:
www.dwlz.com
That gives you all the WW points for various restaurant choices, fast food and sit down. I have my "good" menu choices sort of memorized so I know if I need a quick meal, which places have what sounds good to eat without breaking my diet to pieces! Of course this is when I am behaving, when I'm not, well all bets are off.;)
Bear in mind that your total amount of points for the day is around 20 so if you see something that is 10 points for one thing, its probably not a good idea!
Our computer at home crashed AGAIN (we just had it fixed last month, this is a different problem!) and DH's friend is fixing it. Fortunately it is slow at work and I have time to get online here! ;) DH took DD to soccer last night, so I didn't have to mess with that (none of the other 3 carpool girls went to practice last night...). The scale has been nice to me the past couple days, but I know it can jump right back up on WI day, so I'm not holding my breath. Things have been kinda blah mentally for me lately, but I am still keeping on track with food and exercise. :thumbsup2
For Tuesday:
1289 cal, 41g fat, 158g carbs, 87g protein, 43g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, cheese, LF dressing
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; fiber cake; VitaMuffin top
D: Bisquick deluxe cheeseburger melt; zucchini; HC fudge bar
E: 55min Pilates Sculpt
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barb, I could do Shred in the mornings, but I know I would feel insanely guilty about only doing a 20min workout when I have time to do a 50min one (even though the intensity is up there!). I should plan out a month of workouts, so I can make sure I am rotating things and not getting into a routine.

Tracy, Shred is tough and I definitely want to stick with it! I don't want to lose all the muscles I've built, that's for sure.

Amy, thanks for that website and the reminder about the points! I probably would think that 10 points sounds OK, but not when that is half my calorie allowance! :eek: I am finally in the groove of working out at least 5x a week, I know I can keep it up. And I know I'll get derailed when I have to travel, but I need to get right back into it the day I get back. ;)

Lisa, I still have a couple "problem areas" with my swimsuits, but they look way better than before, so I am happy about that.

Amy, I can relate to computer issues! Amazing how much of life is dependant on these blasted devices huh? I hope dh gets it fixed!

Having a night off from carpooling must have been nice!

Yeah, the points thing is such an easy way to know what the overal impact of what you eat is, just like a calorie count. Also, remember that as a WW, each person gets 35 flex points per week and activity points as well. I want to say for 30 minutes of activity you generally earn a couple of points at least. So bear that in mind when you eat out that even if its a bunch of points if you have behaved overal in a given week and have worked out, you can splurge!

Great job staying on track with your food and exercise, Amy!:thumbsup2

Where do you get the VitaMuffin tops? Trader Joes? I just saw those advertised in my Weight Watchers magazine and they look pretty yummy. How do they taste?

I hope you can get the issue fixed on your computer soon. :wizard:

Ugh, no fun to have the computer on the fritz again. I remember my last bout with that (virus screwed things up beyond fixing) and it was a pain to find a replacement with XP as I refused to go to Vista.

That bathing suit is a nice concrete way to enjoy the progress. :goodvibes

I have some good news and some bad news. I always like to get the bad news out of the way first, so here it is - I didn't work out this morning! :eek: I was sooo tired. It's never a good sign when you go 100% back into a deep sleep after hitting the snooze button! So, I took that as a hint and slept in. I can either work out this afternoon while DD is at soccer (today is strength training day), or take the day off and work out on Sat. We'll see how it goes, I am OK with either way.

The good news is that I pulled a pair of pants out of the back of the closet (size 8, but they were always tight) and they fit! :woohoo: It never ceases to amaze me how much of a difference there is in sizes. I have some 8's I'm swimming in, this pair used to be too tight, etc. :confused3

More good news - my recycled glass countertop samples came in! They are AWESOME!!!! :love: I was very surprised because the one I thought I would love was just OK, but the one DH picked was gorgeous, and that is probably the one we will get. He is still choking over the price, but I don't care, I'm paying for it and I'm willing to spend the $$ to have something different! Everyone had granite, this looks just as nice and it's completely customized (I picked the size of glass pieces, type/color of glass, etc) so it's unique to us. And the colors we chose are pretty neutral, so if we ever sell the house, it won't turn people away.

For Wednesday:
1316 cal, 59g fat, 126g carb, 85g protein, 38g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, provolone, LF dressing
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; fiber cake; 4 Wheat Thins; 4 Cheez-Its :rolleyes1
D: broiled lemon chicken w/green beans tossed w/olive oil, tomato and LF feta; HC fudge bar

E: 50min BL Cardio Max

Avoided: more Wheat Thins and Cheez-Its! :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I've noticed that one or two splurge meals per week really don't hurt anything, so that Flex point system is pretty smart! I have noticed that if I have something with a lot of refined carbs (Starbucks, baked goods, etc) that I retain a lot of water and I can see that on the scale right away, and it sticks there for a few days. So, after all these years I think I am starting to learn what to avoid (not saying that I actually avoid them all the time though! :rolleyes:)
Tracy, I got the VitaMuffins at Costco (freezer section). They are Triple Chocolate or something like that. They are pretty good, although I am the only one in the house who likes them... I eat them right out of the freezer, they only take a couple minutes to thaw out.
Barb, DH custom built our computer and we've had it for a couple years. The hard drive went out last month (and yes, I lost tons of photos! :mad:) and this time it's the motherboard. Having all that dust in the house from renovating is not helping, I'm sure... :confused3
Sleeping in is not bad news. Your body needs sleep just as much as it needs exercise. Do something tonight and you will be fine. :thumbsup2
:woohoo: on the pants! I agree with you on the sizes. One brand I wear one size and different brand I wear another. :confused3 Why can't they all use the same measurement structure?
Okay, what is recycled glass counter tops? I mean, okay, I know counter top, but recycled glass???:confused3 I have never heard of this before. Gonna have to go do some research now.
Understand about the CPU issues. Some days, mine will just not work and I have had it worked on twice. Oldest DS is forbidden to use my laptop any more unless I am right there watching what web sites he goes to. Hope yours gets fixed soon. :wizard:
Ugh, it's awful to lose photos. I have started backing mine up on flash drives now since they are getting pretty cheap.
Good for you on those pants! The scale can be wacky, especially when you're developing muscle, but clothes don't lie. You know you're doing great when you get that nice loose fit.
I agree with everyone else, your bad news was good news! Sleep in the right amounts is a huge metabolism boost so giving your body what it needs is good thinking. :thumbsup2
Those countertops sound very nice. I have to say, its to the point people think granite is the only way to go and to me there's more to life than having what everybody else does. Of course my favorite counter top is Corian. I sitll love it and I don't care if its outdated, I may put that in one of these days!
Have a super day.:)
Weight this morning was 137.0!!!!! :eek: What the heck?? A 3.2lb loss from last week??? Whatever it is, I'll take it and hope it only gets better from here. :thumbsup2
Poor DD got hit in the face with the soccer ball at practice last night (by one of the coaches no less!) and had a horrible nose bleed. She is OK, and the only reason she got hit in the face was because she tried to jump up to bump the ball with her chest, but didn't jump quite high enough... :cutie:
I didn't end up working out yesterday, but got right back into it this morning. I will work out tomorrow morning to make my 5x this week. And being the typical engineer, I put together a spreadsheet for the next month's worth of workouts, so I make sure I am rotating things appropriately... :rolleyes1 I ordered a couple more DVDs from Blockbuster online, so I will eventually have to add those into the mix too!
I have a whole foods cooking class tomorrow, that should be interesting. It'll be nice to get some new, healthy recipes - assuming they are workable for me! I lose interest after about 6 ingredients. :confused3
I LOVE my countertop! I can't wait to get the whole thing, not just a 5x5 square. Our table is the same color that we are looking to get the cabinets, and the counter looks awesome on it. Not to mention the mosaic glass I bought about 6 months ago (for color inspiration) matches perfectly. I just need to find a glass tile backsplash to match my mosaic and I will be in kitchen heaven. :cloud9:
For Thursday:
1241 cal, 40g fat, 163g carb, 87g protein, 45g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: FlatOut wrap w/turkey, spinach, mustard, provolone
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; fiber cake
D: turkey sloppy joe on wheat bun; green beans
E: none
Avoided: VitaMuffin top (I was already high on calories) :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, the computer is back up and running, hopefully it stays there for a while! I have a pair of pants Size 6, that is my next goal. Aren't the countertops so cool?? Mine is from EnviroGlas. I will try to post a picture of it so everyone can see.

Tracey, thanks! Lots to be proud of this week. :goodvibes

redlight, yes it is a GREAT feeling to be able to fit into those pants! I will have to take my measurements again at the end of the month.

Barb, you think we'd have learned our lesson about backing things up. DH always says he is going to do it the first of every month, I guess I will have to make sure he does it!

Amy, you slipped in as I was typing this novel! I agree, granite is nice, but this is different, just as durable and helps get glass out of landfills!

Amy Congratulations on that weigh in! :cool1: You clearly worked your butt off the last few weeks and now you have the concrete proof to show it. Heck the size 8 used-to-be-tight-pants alone was a good sign, but a 3.2 pound loss is even more exciting!

I did MOST of Jillian's Trouble Zones DVD today - for some reason my DVD player kept pausing and it was really aggravating. I did all but the last circuit, so I got 40min in. It's a good workout, some of the same moves as Shred and Banish Fat, but some new ones too. My arms are KILLING me, so I know it works different muscles!

I have that whole foods cooking class today. Not too thrilled about it, but I'm sure it will be fine. Getting together with a bunch of women I don't know doesn't thrill me, but 2 are my good friends and my mom is also going. :thumbsup2

I need to go shopping - I'm out of fiber cakes, fudge bars and red peppers!

For Friday:
1230 cal, 34g fat, 168g carbs, 88g protein, 38g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: FlatOut wrap w/ham, spinach, mustard, provolone
S: baby carrots, apple
S: 100cal pack Cheez-Its; 1.5 servings Quaker mini rice cakes
D: chicken fajita on FlatOut wrap (chicken, red & orange pepper, onion); VitaMuffin top

E: 55min Jillian

Avoided: going out to eat :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, I also put a daily weight on my spreadsheet, so I can really see how wacky it gets! :lmao:
Amy, I am literally working my butt off, it has gotten a lot smaller. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately my chest area has also taken a hit. It's sad and will be potentially embarrassing come swimsuit season! Good thing I'm married and not on the prowl, DH just has to deal with it! :laughing:
Barb, DD is fine. She's a tough kid - definitely not a girlie girl!
Lisa, I am SO thrilled to see those Biggest Loser results! It's about time! Of course that means I'll probably be stagnant for another 3 months before I see another jump, but as long as I keep at it and see results, I will be happy. :goodvibes
You crack me up with your chest woes! I am telling you, with the way so many women get implants and other stuff, I am so glad I am not "on the prowl" because the compettion is stiff and you need to have the $$ to get the work done to even hold your own!
Good job avoiding eating out, because lets face it, unless its subway its hard to do well!
The cooking class was OK. They roasted tons of onions and my eyes were burning for the first hour! :rolleyes: I also learned a quicker way to cut up bell peppers and that I have no knifing skills whatsoever... :rolleyes1 The focus was on whole, organic foods. That is fine if you have hours to chop vegetables every week, which I don't. And where the hell is a regular soccer mom like me going to find salmon bellies?? :confused3
My shoulders/arms are sore today! :headache: But that's good because I can always use some extra toning there!
For Saturday (no idea on calories, but it wasn't too bad):
B: Raisin Bran Crunch w/skim milk
S: 100 cal pack Cheez-Its
L/D: carrot soup w/coconut milk & ginger :cloud9:; green salad w/roasted onions and bell peppers, lemonette dressing :scared:; grilled mustard and cumin steak and salmon belly (pretty good, but too much cumin for my taste); apple apricot compote w/ice cream substitute and carob sauce (I actually found a dessert I DON'T like! :rolleyes:); 2 small glasses white wine
S: handful pecans; VitaMuffin top
E: ~40min Jillian Trouble Zones
Avoided: eating takeout Mexican food with the rest of the family; microwave popcorn :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, the few women friends I have are quite well-endowed and always making fun of me! Especially when we had a luau party and they all had coconut shell bras and got me these really tiny coconuts... :lmao: But I laugh at them when I can wear cute little bikini tops and tanks with no bra and I always remind them that there is no chance of mine being down by my belly button someday! :goodvibes

Tracy, no recipes from the class that I'd share - they are just too time consuming for the average person! That soup was good though...

Julie, thanks! I do love the countertop. Now we just need to get everything finished so we can order the real deal! I'm sure you'll get rid of your mommy tummy soon. :wizard:

Tracey, you can't tell from the picture, but some of the pieces in the countertop are mirror pieces, so that has sparkle :goodvibes. Are you going to post a picture of your sample? I'd love to see it!

Damn those Girl Scouts! OK, it's really damn DH for buying their cookies! ;) He bought a box of Samoas, which are my ALL TIME fave. I did good, only had 2, but that was on top of Starbucks and a brownie. Whoops. High calorie day, needless to say... And what an eye-opener, just those 3 "extra" things were 550 calories! :eek: And to think of all the times I have hammered down a whole row of Samoas... :guilty:

I am feeling pretty good about things, DH said that even if I am not seeing big victories on the scale, he can really tell by my body that I have toned up. So that made me feel really good about things. The weight has actually been dropping off like I swallowed a tapeworm or something (and no, I didn't!) and I am loving it, but it is a cautious love. I know my body well enough to know it's too good to be true, but a girl can still dream, right? :goodvibes

For Sunday:
1602 cal, 49g fat, 209g carb, 99g protein, 25g fat
B: chocolate oatmeal; NF grande chai latte
L: Wheat Sandwich Thin w/mustard, spinach, ham, provolone
S: red pepper; small brownie :rolleyes1
D: turkey meatloaf; broccoli; HC fudge bar
S: 2 Samoas :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

E: none

Avoided: more brownies (actually wasn't even tempted!); more Samoas (WAS tempted!) :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, the class was OK, had some good info about nutrition, it was just not something I would ever practice in real life...
Barb, I was the only one who seemed to be bothered by the onions! Someone told me (after the class, of course) that wearing a baseball cap while cutting onions makes it so you don't cry. I'll have to try it!
Lisa, the carrot soup tasted a lot like a butternut squash soup - my mom hates cooked carrots and she loved the soup - didn't taste like carrots at all. I will have to remember never to use that DVD in my room again. Which shouldn't be a problem, since I usually do my workouts in the living room in the morning during the week. I was in my room because I didn't want the kids watching me! :rolleyes:
Amy, damn those girl scouts indeed! I gave ds and a few of his friends three boxes of girl scout cookies to take to the park while they shot hoops a few weeks ago and they took care of at least those three for me! They are evil cookies. Thank goodness they only are around for a short time huh?
Yeah, as a well endowed girl myself, I'd take your measurements over mine any day! The back aches, sagging and chore of finding a bra that actually does something besides cut off my circulation is not fun!
Maybe your body is just reacting to all the hard work you are doing? You are seriously working out so to me it makes sense!
I hear ya about those cookies. We have several boxes in the house right now but I am pretending they are not here and we'll be giving them to crew member friends on the ship in March. Just have to hold out till then!
It really is all about the overall changes to your body. Sometimes I am happier with my muscles developing than with the weight loss. You're doing a good job on both fronts so that is something to be proud of.
I need to get to Trader Joe's!!!! I miss my fiber cakes. :guilty: Last time I went it was over the weekend, when it's convenient, and they were out, so I am going today to see if they got a shipment in. That is what I had to do last time. The clerk looks at me like I'm some kind of fiber freak when I buy 4-6 boxes (I buy whatever they have and freeze them), but I hate driving down there so I stock up when I can! ;)
Things are going pretty good, weight staying steady. I'm not going to make my goal of 135 by the end of Feb, but c'est la vie. I am definitely in better shape, and that's what matters the most to me (today, anyway! :rolleyes1)
For Monday:
1306 cal, 45g fat, 162g carb, 82g protein, 35g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Oroweat Sandwich Thin w/turkey, provolone, spinach, mustard
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; VitaMuffin top
D: 4 4-cheese raviolis w/0.25c sauce (high in calories! :eek:)
E: 50min BL Cardio Max
Avoided: fudge bar after dinner (was already high on cals thanks to ravioli)
Tracy, thanks! I tried on a pair of size 6 shorts today and they fit perfectly! :cheer2:
Amy, the cookies are hidden in the pantry and surprisingly I was not tempted by those OR the brownies last night. Of course today is a new day... :rolleyes1
Barb, great way to get rid of your cookies! I'm sure your friend will be very grateful for them. :thumbsup2 I think I am finally becoming more happy with the way I look and less worried about the scale. It's about time! :goodvibes
Amy, I would look at this as you did make your goal. You could have done some weird diet where you lost pounds but not been as toned and able to get into some of your clothes as what you have done. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat and you have probably gained quite a bit with what you have been doing. You may weigh more now than what you like, but I am betting that in your youth when you weighed less, you werent' as in shape! And that scale will catch up very soon if it doesn't by Friday.
I am wondering if our new natural market will sell those same fiber cakes. Or are they a Trader Joes brand?
Great job avoiding those gs cookies!:thumbsup2
Trader Joes was out of my fiber cakes! :mad: After I braved rush hour traffic to get there, too... :sad1: I ended up getting a pack of blueberry bran muffins and a pack of apple cranberry bran muffins, but I am not thrilled with them for a couple reasons - the serving size is 1/2 muffin (no biggie, I cut them all in half before I put them in the freezer), the calories are higher (110 or 120 compared to 80 in fiber cakes) and the fiber is much less (6 or 8g instead of 13). But, what can I do, I need lots of fiber in my diet because of my sluggish digestive system... :confused3
I was super tired this morning, but got through my workout. About halfway through I finally got some much needed energy. Usually I am OK after the warmup.
For Tuesday:
1359 cal, 46g fat, 149g carb, 93g protein, 35g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Oroweat Sandwich Thin w/turkey, cheddar, spinach, mustard
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper-n-hummus; blueberry fiber muffin
D: crockpot beef roast, carrots, onion; HC fudge bar
S: Samoa :rolleyes1
E: 40min TurboSculpt
Avoided: brownies, another Samoa :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, good luck finding the fiber cakes! There is probably some other woman like me who buys them out everytime she goes, and she just beats me there! :rolleyes: I actually found a recipe online where someone replicated them, I might have to give that a try instead.

Amy, I can almost guarantee when I was 18 and starting college and weighed 118lbs that I was not in shape at all! :rolleyes: And even when I weighed the magical 125 I want to get back down to, I wasn't in shape either. Thanks for pointing that out. :goodvibes I googled the fiber cakes and they are sold at Trader Joes or Whole Foods (Zen Bakery is who makes them). I wish I could order them online!

Lisa, the cookies got the best of me yesterday, but I only had 1 and enjoyed every small bite I took. There are only 5 Samoas left (I've only had 3, so DH must be eating them!) so I think I will be able to contain myself until they are gone! ;)

Amy, too funny about your magical 125 pounds! 140 pounds is my magic number and that's more than what I weighed when I was about 24, thought I was fat and would skip meals, go on weird diets and gripe all the time about my weight. What I should have done was gain five pounds of muscle from working out and enjoyed my smokin hot body!:rotfl:

I got those bb muffins at the Trader Joes in CA when we went to see Dan's dad, they were out of the fiber cakes at that location too! We do have Whole Foods but there's not one remotely close. But we are getting a Sprouts and maybe they'll carry them. I hope so, I like my fiber too!

Good job pushing through that workout.

Congrats on size 6!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I hear you about fiber cakes! I love them, but they're hard to find....guess we aren't the only ones! I really like the new quaker high fiber oatmeal....10 grams fiber! Comes in Maple/Brn Sugar & cinnamon, but i can't find the cinnamon very often.

I won't even think about buying any girl scout cookies this year. Samoas & Thin mints would do me in!

Hope the rest of the week goes well for you!

Sorry to hear that Trader Joe's was out of fiber cakes. :( Maybe you can talk to the store manager and see if he/she will place a special order for you. Do those fiber cakes freeze well? When our grocery store does special orders, they request that you order several items at a time (sometimes in a case), pay for it in advance, and then they call you when your items come in. That way, you know they will have them for you when you go to the store. :goodvibes

Great job getting your workout in!:cheer2: Isn't it a great feeling when those exercise endorphins kick in? :thumbsup2

I took yesterday off work, a friend from out of town was here and we went to Tortilla Flat. It's a gorgeous drive and they are known for their prickly pear ice cream, and things just went downhill from there... :rolleyes1 Weight today was 139. A 2lb GAIN from last week! :eek: I'm not too bent out of shape about it, my weight had been creeping up all week (started Monday at 136, Tue 136.8, Wed 137.2, Thu 137.4, Fri 139) and yesterday's junk fest was the cherry on top! I did work out all 5 days this week (:banana:) and I plan on working out tomorrow, so I am not going to beat myself up about it, I'm just going to move on. :thumbsup2

I won't post my food, since I have no idea what the calories were (and don't WANT to know!). Let's just say there were GS cookies and brownies involved, even after the ice cream! I did feel stuffed and gross, and that is not a feeling I want to have again anytime soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I have never seen the fiber cakes at our Sprouts, but maybe yours will have them! I am going to try the recipe I found online, if it is up to snuff, I will most definitely share it with everyone!
Julie, I was thrilled about the size 6 shorts! Of course then I got bummed about the 2 size 6 shorts I got rid of last year with the tags still on them! :rolleyes: I do not buy GS cookies, that is all DH! He should know better by now... :rolleyes1
Tracy, that is a really good idea about asking for a special order! They do freeze well. If the recipe I found is no good, I just might have to try that. :thumbsup2
I have got to get my act together! :sad2: ANOTHER bad food day yesterday. :guilty: But I WILL get back into the swing of things today. I have to! It takes too long for me to lose a single pound, and only a couple bad days in a row to gain 3lbs. I need to stop researching vacations/cruises and get my workout in! I've already worked out 5x this week, but I want to work out 6 per week, until I reach my goal. Which at this rate will be when I am 56 years old... :rolleyes1
I have no idea what the calories were for yesterday. I mentally checked out when DH insisted on going out to eat. It wasn't quite as bad as Thu, but bad enough!
For Friday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Oroweat Sandwich Thin w/turkey, cheddar, spinach, mustard; 1/2 small bag coconut M&Ms (not as tasty as I was hoping, which is a good thing!)
S: baby carrots; apple
S: red pepper; 2 handfuls pecans; brownie :confused3
D: greek chicken salad; breadstick; peach martini
S: single scoop ice cream; 1 Samoa :confused3
E: 50min BL Cardio Max
Lisa, thanks! You will get there with your skirts. ;) I know what was in the air for me - cookies, brownies and ice cream! :lmao:
Finally got back on track with food! :cheer2: I did go over on calories thanks to a glass of wine, but at least the junk food fest is over. I even worked out, although I started talking myself out of it. :thumbsup2 I will have to work out all 5 weekdays this week - DD's soccer tournament next week will take up the whole weekend... :rolleyes1 I love watching her play, I just don't like the time it takes! ;) It's in a city that is at least a 45min drive away. We are thinking of getting a hotel on Sat night, since her first game on Sun is 8am! :eek: And I know she's going to have to be there at 7am for warmups, which means leaving the house at 6am to get there... It's bad enough her first game on Sat is at 9:15am. The joys of being a soccer mom, I guess! :rolleyes:
For Saturday:
1396 cal, 45g fat, 144g carb, 90g protein, 28g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Oroweat Sandwich Thin w/turkey, cheddar, mustard; 2 Samoas (they are gone!)
S: red pepper-n-hummus; apple cranberry bran muffin
D: macadamia crusted mahi mahi; peas; Slim-A-Bear ice cream sandwich; 1 glass white wine
E: 20min Shred L1; 20min AbJam
Avoided: eating macadamia nuts while cooking dinner! :banana:
Hi Amy, sometimes I gotta say, I am so glad my kids both stunk at soccer!:rolleyes1 Around here, springtime games are usually spent freezing to death in the rain and no, I don't miss it one bit!
You'll get back on track with food. I think about how long it takes me to lose weight and that it takes me about one tenth that time to gain it back and it doens't seem fair!
Glad you had fun with your friend, that is worth a bit of havoc on the scale!
I did OK on food yesterday, but my calories were really high! I can't believe 2 pieces of homemade pizza are so much. :sad2: I could have eaten something else, but I try to have everyone eat the same thing at dinner. Oh well...
I did make some mango fiber cakes! :cheer2: Interestingly enough, the person who posted the recipe came up with 95 cal and 12g fiber. When I added up all the ingredients, then divided by 12 (the # of muffins one batch makes), I came up with 96 cal but only 8g of fiber! So I'm not sure where she got 12. They have a little weird taste, but I think that is because of the Splenda brown sugar mix that is sprinkled on top. Next time I make them I will leave that off, and if the weird taste is gone, I will post the recipe if anyone is interested.
For Sunday:
1555 cal, 50g fat, 197g carb, 96g protein, 37g fiber
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: Oroweat Sandwich Thin w/turkey, cheddar, spinach, mustard
S: red pepper, 2 mango fiber cakes :rolleyes1
S: 1 serving Quaker mini rice cakes
D: 2 pieces homemade pepperoni pizza; HC fudge bar
E: none
Avoided: Starbucks :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, thanks. I feel much better and very glad that 2 days didn't turn into 2 weeks.

Lisa, I have been pretty good about avoiding junk these past couple months, I don't know what happened. I think I used that splurge meal out as an excuse to have a splurge day...

Barb, I am in the zone for working out. It's way easier to wake up and get it done than to work out after work! I have to keep up with it, because I know if I skip a day, it's WAY too easy to get out of the habit.

Amy, I'm so glad DS gave up on soccer! But he is starting football next year, so we'll see how that goes. And football season is the same time as the regular soccer season, so that will be interesting logistics. :eek: You are right, it really isn't fair that we can gain weight so quickly but not take it off as quickly! :rolleyes:

Mango fiber cakes...mmmm! It makes sense that the weird flavor might be the Splenda. I'm not fond of that stuff; I like that new sweetner but I can't remember what's it's called. I've been eating 100 calories yogurt-and-cookie cups that have it.

Yes, pizza is a real killer. I have a weakness for it, so now we keep a frozen flatbread veggie pizza on hand that doesn't have any cheese. That seems to be where a big chunk of the calories are. We whip it out when we get tempted to order one.

Glad the fiber cakes were a success, sort of. I don't care for Splenda either, but have never tried it with baking. I too am interested in the recipe. If it is something healthy that I can add chocolate too, my kids might eat them.

Good luck with soccer and football together. Last Fall there was a mother from DD's soccer team who also had a son playing rec football. Lucky for her the fields were very near each other as most of her kids games were at the same time. She was constantly going back and forth between fields.

I'm afraid my days of WISHing at work are probably over... :sad1: Remember when I got promoted last year? Well, I finally moved into my bigger cube, but the downside is that my back now faces the door, and anyone walking by can see what I am doing on the computer. Yes, we are allowed to surf the net at lunchtime and everything, but I am not sure I want someone to walk by and see the wall of smilies on the right and ask me about it! :rolleyes1 So, I'll have to play it by ear, but I might be stuck only logging in at night (not likely, since DH is always on the computer) or weekends... :guilty: That doesn't mean I won't be working out and watching my eating though! ;)

Last 2 days have been good with food and working out. I didn't work out this morning, but I did after work! :cheer2: And was again reminded why I HATE doing it after work... :sad2: I will be more motivated to get up in the a.m. the next couple days, that's for sure. ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barb, I love pizza and we don't have it too often, so I guess I just need to plan for the extra calories! And you are right, the cheese is the culprit. :eek: And the best part.... :confused3
Lisa, I had a fiber cake today and they are pretty decent. Not as good as store bought, but better than nothing! DS would be playing JV football for the school, so he would be playing during the week, and DD would be playing on Saturdays. It's just practices that will get a little out of control!
Tracy, I will post the recipe soon. Her recipe was for raspberry, but I am not a huge raspberry fan and I already had a bottle of the SF mango syrup and a bag of frozen mangoes, which is why I switched it up.
Ugh, bummer about the cube step-up. That's one good thing about working at home...I can take little breaks whenever I want (sometimes too many!). Oh well, at least you have a bigger space.
Yes, that cheese sure is the best part of pizza! I'm originally a Chicago gal so loving pizza is in my blood...especially deep dish. The cheeseless spinach and mushroom one has a creamy sauce that is almost (although not quite) as good as cheese.
Amy, I hope you find a way to Wish without anybody noticing!
I made homemade pizza a few weeks ago and like you was shocked at how the calories were. Pizza is a toughie as far as finding one that won't break the calorie bank but tastes good!
I had some of the splenda brown sugar stuff and I hated it. It tasted very chemically to me. I don't like to bake with that stuff to be honest, I think the heat of cooking makes it taste different than if I just sprinkle a bit on cereal or in tea.
I miss WISHing during the week. :sad2: I guess I will have to stick to a weekly update on the weekends, since it looks like that is the only time I will consistently be able to get on the computer! :rolleyes: My food is boring anyway! :rolleyes1
Went to DD's soccer tourney today. They won the first game (1-0), lost the second (2-1). They play 1 game for sure tomorrow, and if they are in 1st or 2nd place in their bracket after that, they play a final game tomorrow afternoon. I think they will end up in 2nd place. Which stinks because that means we have to be to the field at 7:15am for the first game (and it's a 45min+ drive! :eek:) and the second game isn't until 2pm! :confused3 There is no way I am driving all the way home then back, so I figured we go see a movie between games. The field is actually pretty nice, it's right outside the AZ Cardinals stadium. :thumbsup2 It's supposed to rain tomorrow, too, so it might be a non-issue if they cancel the games!
Weight yesterday was a pathetic 140.0. :guilty: But it was PMS week, so that type of gain is expected. I just HATE that number!!! I have been tracking my weight along with my workouts, I guess I will just post that every weekend as a recap.
M: 45min TurboJam Cardio Party/138.0
T: 55min Jillian Trouble Zones/139.4
W: 50min BL Cardio Max/138.8
Th: no workout/139.4
F: 55min BL Power Sculpt/140.0
S: 20min Shred L2 and 20min AbJam/139.4
No plan to work out tomorrow. I am proud of myself for working out this morning, since we had to leave for soccer at 7:15am. :cheer2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, I am loving my new cube. It has a table and 2 extra chairs, so people can come in and sit down instead of cramming into my personal space!

Barb, I am a cheese lovin' fool! Why are all the yummy things so high in fat and calories??? :confused:

Amy, I am 99% sure the weird muffin taste is from the splenda brown sugar. It's just sprinkled on the top, so I will omit it next time. After I eat this batch... :rolleyes1

Tracy, there is no way I can move my monitors to avoid them facing the door. I actually bought a "rear view" mirror at Target today - I almost had a heart attack yesterday because someone snuck in there behind me and I got up to leave and she was right there. I had just taken a big swig of Coke Zero and she's lucky I choked it down instead of spitting it all over the place! :scared1:

Amy, that is great dd's soccer team may come in second. :thumbsup2 I think seeing a movie sounds like a good idea, what are you going to see? I am dying to see Alice in Wonderland.

Don't stress on the scale, its out of your control and will right itself in a few days. Once you get a bit lower (and you will) your pms gain won't be able t get you back into the 140's. You are just still in that area where a couple of pounds can put you to a decade you don't want to be in. Its hard not to be bummed but you have worked so hard and your food is good and you will be back in the 130's very soon!

Change of plans today... Got up at 5:30 and was out the door by 6:30 for DD's soccer game. It was sprinkling on the way there, and was pouring by the time it was over. Everyone was soaked, especially the girls, since they played through it (they won, 3-0! :cheer2:). The dad of one of the girls we carpool with had to ref another game, so asked me if I could take his daughter home (his wife was home with their son, who was having really bad asthma problems). I was kind of over the whole movie idea after being out in the cold rain for almost 2 hours, so we came back here. We still don't know 1) if we are playing in the consolation game @ 2:00 or championship game at 3:30 (if the team that we lost to yesterday loses (they play at 11:45) we would be in the champsionship, if they win we will be in consolation) or 2) if they are even going to have games this afternoon because the radar shows all green all day... :confused3 So, we sit and wait.

The reno is slowly progressing. All the drywall is up, DH is spending today finishing up the taping and sanding. Our friend is coming to help remove the plumbing from the old fridge location. Still nothing on the cabinets or countertops, we need to get the walls done and it's been tough since DH has been working overtime, including Saturdays. But, it'll get done eventually! :wizard:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I also want to see Alice, and that is what we were going to see. Oh well, maybe some other weekend! Surprisingly I wasn't too bummed about the 140. I wasn't happy about it, but I didn't dwell. That was the ONLY day I was there, I've been under that for over 2 weeks, so it was just a fluke. Of course the last 2 weigh-ins have also been the highest weight of the week. I should change my WI day! :rolleyes:
Lisa, DD's team is really good, I know it's going to be painful to watch when she goes back to the regular AYSO season in the fall, where there is a big variety of skill level on each team.
Tracy, no movie today. :sad1: But at least my feet are dry now! I am not looking forward to that 45+ minute drive again this afternoon (and that is all freeway! :eek:) so I am kind of hoping they cancel the afternoon games! ;)
UPDATED: Just found out we are in the consolation game... Guess I need to put my wet shoes back on and head back out there...
UPDATE #2: As we were walking out the door, the coach called my cell and told me the game was cancelled due to weather. Yippee!!! Of course DD was not too happy that she had all her gear on again for nothing, but she'll get over it...
What a week! :faint: I had a class at work from 8-5 Tue-Fri, and that class had HOMEWORK to read every night! :eek: It was a good class, but I am so glad it's over - it was very time consuming. Fortunately my workload is slow right now because that would have been a downright nightmare.
I slacked off a little bit in the food dept this week, but no binges and nothing too extreme. Just ate too much. I did get 5 workouts in and unfortunately I don't think I will have time today - we have a b-day party plus another soccer tournament! At least it's in the mid 70's and sunny all weekend!:woohoo:
I took my measurements and the ONLY thing that changed was my chest! COME ON, that is so wrong... :sad2: That is the worst place for me to lose since I am already pathetically lacking in that dept! Oh well, not much I can do about it - I'm not going to stop working out because of it! :confused3 The measurements have made me realize that I am probably not going to get any smaller than I am now. I will continue to work out consistently, but I am resigned to the fact that this is probably the size I am meant to be. I am definitely in great shape, and have seen a huge improvement since Jan 1, so I can't complain too much. :goodvibes
Lisa, sitting in the rain for 2 hours is miserable! We have gotten tons of rain (for AZ standards, anyway) already this year. House reno is at a stand still - we are at the point where we need someone to come in an texture/paint the ceiling. Then we are on to cabinets! :cool1:
Tracy, thanks! DD's team ended up in 2nd place for the tournament (based on points)! That was pretty neat, they got their medals and pins at practice, DD was pretty excited.
:goodvibes way to go! I think you have done awesome. Yeah, for some reason you always lose up top first, but gain on the bottom first. :confused3 Not fair.
Glad your class is over. and have fun at the soccer field this week. :goodvibes
Lose from the top down, gain from the bottom up....it happens to me EVERY time!! Yes, it so SO VERY WRONG!!!
Hope you are having a good weekend. DD has wanted to see Alice & decided that she will go to the early morning show this week sometimes....it it's not too crowded!
Sorry about the cubicle config. Space is good, but arrangements can really be NOT good!! Sigh.....kind of like a bunch of gophers!
Amy, I think most of us women can relate to inches being lost in the wrong places! I love your attitude, you are in great shape and being able to recognize and celebrate that is something to be proud of!
How did dd's soccer game go? Glad you had 70's and sunshine after so much rain lately!
The remodel sounds like its coming along in spite of dh's busy schedule. You must be so ready for this to be done so you can enjoy it and more down time on your weekends.
Hope this week is less hectic!
I have a quick moment to post before I go back to my meetings. I can't wait for this week to be over so I can get back to "regular" work schedule!
Eating hasn't been great, I really need to get back on track. I avoided donuts and pastries this morning, but there are cookies there for the afternoon. I am going to try to stick to a Diet Coke but I'm sure I'll cave and have a cookie! :confused3
Sunday after soccer we went out with most of the team and the coach bought the girls pizza. The parents all had a couple drinks then decided to drop the kids off and go out for MORE drinks! We didn't get home until 10:30pm and I had WAY too much to drink! Needless to say I didn't work out Monday morning, but got back into it this morning. And the scale jumped up 2.2lbs overnight, but I'm pretty sure I know what caused it... :rolleyes1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, it definitely isn't fair! But what can you do...

Julie, I was trying to see if I could reconfigure my cube, but there is no way. All my furniture would have to be backwards (left hand versus right hand). I got a little rear view mirror so at least people can't sneak up behind me anymore, but they can still see my monitors when they walk by.

Tracy, it's actually sunny and in the 80's all week! My favorite time of year!!!:goodvibes B-day party was fun - it was a surprise 50th for our friend. I only stayed for an hour, then headed to DD's last game. Which they LOST, so they came in 4th place at the tournament. The girls don't seem to care what place they come in, so that's good. They have only lost 2 games out of the 3 tournaments they've been in, so they are doing pretty good. ;)

Amy, we are now at the mercy of contractors for the reno, which is always a delight (not!). One guy did call back, so DH needs to make arrangements with him. I refuse to get involved, I did that enough on our last rental and it just makes me crazy.

Minor setback on the eating. You'll get back on track once you are back to your regular schedule. :thumbsup2

Your DD must have a great coach for the girls to have such a good attitude about playing and winning/losing. That's awesome!:goodvibes

I hear you on being at the mercy of contractors. The ones who were around for more than a couple days learned to fear me when I showed up with my house plans. If something wasn't right then they fixed it or didn't get paid until I was happy. I was a relentless taskmaker.......:rolleyes1

and sounds like you had a fun weekend. :banana:

I am really blowing it lately! I ate 1.5 cookies AND a donut yesterday! :eek: If I don't get my butt in gear RIGHT NOW I will definitely gain weight, so I need to suck it up and focus. I'm working out at least 5x a week still, but my food is the key right now.

Sad news, my cousin has died. :sad1: He was slowly making progress but ended up with pneumonia and an uncontrollably high fever. Very, very heartbroken for my aunt. :sad2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, DD is pretty easygoing and always looks at the positive. Seems like most of the other girls on the team are the same way. I hate dealing with contractors, I'm sure everyone has a horror story! I know I do!!
Don't let this set back with food get you down or continue! I know you will get back on track.
As for the drinks, sometimes you gotta let go and have fun!
Its amazing to me that in this economy, people don't return calls that might entail work.:confused3 Good job letting dh deal with that, as you say, you have already been there and done that!
I come here, hanging my head in shame... :sad2: Let's just say this week was a bust! Only worked out twice and food was horrific! :eek: I stayed pretty steady with my weight, which is a miracle, but I bet I could have maybe lost a couple lbs if I had been on my A-game. Oh well, it's in the past and I can't change it, so I need to get back on track NOW.
I started by creating my workout matrix for the next month. :thumbsup2 My 2 weeks of hell at work are over, so next week I will be back to my regular routine. Until we get notified we have to go to India, that is... But I'll worry about that when the time comes!
Not that this is any excuse for going off the deep end this week, but in addition to finding out my cousin passed away, DH took the kids up north to our property and our trailer had been burglarized! :mad: This is the 2nd time it's happened. They took EVERYTHING - sleeping bags, propane tanks, solar panels, blankets, water, even our UNO and board games! :furious: So I guess we are going to leave nothing there and just bring everything with us when we go up there. That way if anyone breaks in there will be nothing to steal...:sad2:
Week's recap (:guilty:):
Amy, thanks. :hug: We did get an estimate from 1 contractor and another one is coming today. The first guy did a great job on our rental property, so we will most likely stick with him. Today we are going cabinet shopping!!!! :banana:
Tracy, thanks :hug:. I have to get back on track starting now or else I will do some serious damage. :rolleyes1
Barb, thanks. :hug: You are so right. I am the only one who can control what is going into my mouth. And I am the only one who can make myself get up in the morning to work out. I WILL get back on track! I'm sick of feeling lethargic and guilty about the junk I've been eating! :thumbsup2
Amy, some weeks are just harder than others. Good news is that you held steady on the scale!:thumbsup2 Which means you probably didn't do as bad as you think you did!
Major bummer about the trailer. That is really low for someone to do that and take your board games to boot. Some people. Its always a horrible feeling to know someone has been in your stuff. What goes around, comes around for those scumbags!:mad:
I hate only being able to log in on weekends! :sad2: I FINALLY got back on track with working out this week! :cool1: Food was much better, but still not where it should be. But it was definitely an improvement from the last 2 weeks, so I am happy with that. Weight all week was under 140, so I am happy about that too! Still not where I want to be, but at least I am in the 130's. :thumbsup2
DD has soccer all weekend, just got back from the first game. They won 1-0 at the last minute of the game. It was painful to watch, but at least we got a win instead of a tie. :cheer2: DS started football practice this week and dare I say he is becoming a more cheerful teenager because of it! :eek: He really likes it, I hope he keeps that attitude around for the long haul. :goodvibes
Found the cabinets we like, of course they are 2x more expensive than we planned. But we are only going to do this once, so we'll see what we decide on in the end. The guy that custom made our cabinets for the rental is coming tomorrow to give us a quote. If it is that much less expensive, we will most likely go with him.
Week's workout and weight recap:
M: 50min BL CardioMax/138.8
T: 55min Jillian Trouble Zones/139.6
W: 55min Jillian Banish Fat/138.4
Th: 55min Pilates Sculpt/139.2
F: 50min BL CardioMax/138.4
S: rest/139.2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, we found some awesome cabinets with some really cool features. But if the custom guy can do it for a couple thousand $ cheaper, we might have to forgo some of the "extras", like the no-slam drawer and cabinets. We'll see!

Lisa, I got your mental push, thanks! :hug: I know, people who steal should be caned, like in Singapore! :mad:

Amy, that's the worst part - feeling violated by some a-hole who thinks society owes him what he hasn't earned... :mad: Yes, it's good the scale is steady although I sure wish I could get more firmly in the 130's and away from the border between 130 and 140! :confused3

Amy&Dan
03-29-2010, 07:38 PM
Amy, Dan and I were broken into twice, once shortly after we were married. That a-hole took some earrings Dan had given me for our first Valentine's Day and a letter he wrote me the morning after he asked me to marry him. Next time they took my brand new, never used stove! I agree, there are people out there who feel entitled to take whatever and never worry about how the true owner feels. :mad: I am sorry but taking board games from what is clearly a family's weekend trailer is so low, well they will get theirs!

You are getting back on track and your weight is still in the 130's! To me that equals success. You have a lot going on and you are doing fine in spite of all that.

My own ds does much better when he's physically active and has something disciplined to keep him busy too!

Another week has breezed by! :rolleyes: DH's b-day was last night so we went out with his sister and her husband then met some friends at a bar to watch live music. I was driving, so I had to behave but DH kept getting drinks bought for him... ;) And we had to drive one of our friends home, he was pretty hammered! :eek:

No soccer this weekend! And there are only 2 tournaments left. One is next weekend and then the following weekend up in Prescott. That should be a fun one, DD is looking forward to staying in a hotel with her team.

Food has been decent, I worked out 4x and have every intention of working out today to make it 5. Weight has been the typical up-down-up-down, but I am still in the 130's for the most part. I just wish I could get off the borderline! :confused3

Week's recap:
M: 45min Shred L2 and TurboJam/140.0
T: 40min TurboSculpt/139.4
W: rest/138.6
Th: 55min Pilates Sculpt/138.8
F: 45min Shred L3 and TurboJan/139.2
S: PLAN TO DO 50min BL Power Sculpt/139.4

Amy, I can't believe they stole a personal LETTER! What is wrong with these people?? :mad: I hope DS sticks with football. It's fun now, but it's not going to be so fun when practice goes from 1 hour to 3 hours and it's 110 degrees this summer!

Lisa, we ended up going with the custom cabinets, they were HALF the price of the retail, plus they will be all wood (the retail ones were plywood sides). And they will be installed as well! And the guy is going to put the soft close thingies on the drawers and cabinet doors, which was the only feature I would not give up. He did the cabinets at our rental, so we know he does good work. And yes, there is a catch. He needs an interpreter (our friend helps us out) and it's an all cash deal, no contract. Again, this guy has done work with no issues before but it makes me nervous! I told DH that if we end up on Holmes on Homes I would divorce him! :lmao: So, in 3-4 weeks we will have the cabinets done! Now we need to order the countertop slab so it is ready and waiting to be cut as soon as the cabinets are in. Fun, fun!!!! :banana:

Tracy, they ended up getting their butts handed to them the last game of the tournament! :confused3 The entire team went to Native New Yorker for lunch and the girls were SLUGGISH. Coach said we'd never to that again! :rotfl:

Happy Easter, everyone!!!

Had to update that I actually worked out yesterday, just like I said I would! :cheer2: And my legs are even sore, which is funny because I always think that Power Sculpt is not that hard of a workout. Apparently my muscles feel differently...

We don't have the kids this weekend so we are going to see Clash of the Titans today (yes, on Easter Sunday!). It's kind of sad now that the kids are both too old to believe in all the fun stuff. It really takes the holidays to a different level. :guilty: I guess this is why people crave grandkids so much - to get Santa, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy back! ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, thanks! I also can't wait for the cabinets. We almost had a BIG mishap - I was trying to figure out how much countertop to order and when I laid out the island we are putting in, it looked way too big. So we measured it out and put a tape outline on the ground and it was huge! :eek: So we had to knock it down in size and luckily got in touch with the cabinet guy before he started making that piece!
Happy Belated Birthday to DH and hey, that's one way to behave, be the designated driver. :thumbsup2
Sounds like the kitchen is really coming along. Yes, I was really amazed also that custom cabinets can be cheaper than ordering from a store. Plus, I feel you can get a much better product (all wood) as you said. No contract would scare me also, but since you have worked with him before.... here's some :wizard: that they are beautiful. Didn't have a chance to log on yesterday, we were busy ALL day! :scared: Started off with DD's soccer game (they won, 2-0! :woohoo:), then I had to take her to Honors Orchestra dress rehearsal (the concert is on Tue). I was absolutely amazed at how good they sounded! If I wasn't looking at them, I would have never believed they were 10-12 year olds playing. ;) Then we had to go have cake at my MIL's for her b-day, then we headed to a local wine bistro for a music festival. We finally got back home around 8pm and I had a little too much wine, so I was asleep by 9pm! :rolleyes1 I guess DD's team lost their 2nd game (0-1). She had to miss it because of orchestra. I have no idea what place they are in now, I'll find out when we get there for this morning's game. She plays at 9:15 and 1:00.
Food has been good, but sadly I only worked out 3x this week. And yes, I feel insanely guilty! My mind just wasn't in it, but I vow to do better next week. Weight has been on a downhill trend, don't know why, but I'll take it! :thumbsup2
Sorry for being MIA! :flower3: We were up in Prescott all weekend for DD’s LAST soccer tournament and didn't get home until after 7pm on Sunday! And the last 2 nights have been spent trying to catch up on all the things that didn’t get done this weekend (laundry, groceries, etc). They came in 4th (out of 6 teams in their bracket). But that is no indication of how they played, they did GREAT! They tied a game 1-1, lost one 1-2, won one 1-0 and lost one 0-1. We only missed 3rd place by 3 points, so it was really close. :thumbsup2
Working out hasn’t been as great as it could be. I am having a big mental block regarding cardio for some reason. The cardio DVDs I have are TOUGH and they take a lot out of me, and I’m just getting lazy and not wanting to do them. I feel great when I am done, I need to get back into it mentally – swimsuit season is here, for cryin’ out loud! My workout/weight spreadsheet is at home (I’m sneaking online at work!) but my highest weight last week was 138.6 (yippee!) and most of the time I was bouncing back and forth between 137 and 138. I’ll take it! I also worked out 3x last week.
I’ve worked out twice this week so far, but I skipped this morning’s workout. Here is how mental it is – I actually got up, weighed myself (136.6!!!), changed into my workout gear, and got my Jillian Banish Fat DVD out. I opened the case and the DVD was not in there. I figured that was a sign so I went back to bed! :rolleyes1 Pathetic, I know. Now I am riddled with guilt, so maybe I’ll do Shred or something when I get home tonight. We’ll see, we all know how successful I am at working out after work!
Concert was absolutely beautiful! Hard to believe they are 5th and 6th graders. Here is a link, if you like orchestra music I'm sure you will enjoy it. You can't really see DD (just her mop of long blond hair!), but she is in the 3rd row to the left of the conductor, 3rd seat in from the front (next to the girl with the white headband).
Lisa, thanks for the well wishes for DD. We are so very proud of her! :cloud9:
Tracy, thanks for always checking in with me. I know I've been a bad WISHer, I think I'm getting to the point where I can get back on at lunch. If anyone says anything, I'll tell them I can do personal stuff at lunch if I want! It's not like I'm surfing porn or anything! :laughing:
Amy, soccer is OVER! Honors orchestra is OVER! And DS's football is M-Th after school until 5:15pm, so that is not too cumbersome. I can't wait to have my evenings back!! Kitchen is stagnant, waiting on the cabinets to get built. We are having the texture guy come on Monday, then we can paint, then we will be ready to install the cabinets in about 2 weeks. Yippee!!!
I am proud of myself for walking to the store this morning! My intent was to go to the convenience store on the corner to pick up a half gallon of milk. They didn't have any skim, so I walked to the grocery store instead! And of course the gallon was on sale for $2 cheaper than the half... :rolleyes: Let me tell you, a gallon of milk gets heavy QUICK when you are walking! :eek: Roundtrip was a little over 30min. Not bad, and what else was I supposed to do at 6:30am??
If I count that as a workout, I did get in 5x this week. :thumbsup2 I have to pack up all the things in our top cabinets today, since we are taking those down for the texture guy, who is coming on Monday. Countertops have been ordered, unfortunately they won't be ready until the end of May, so we might have plywood countertops for a couple weeks! Oh well, it's not the end of the world and it will be so worth it in the end! :thumbsup2
T: 55min Pilates Sculpt/137.4
W: rest/136.6
Th: 40min Turbo Sculpt + 20min Ab Jam/137.6
F: 55min Jillian Banish Fat/138.4
S: 30min brisk walk/137.6
Still under 140, so no huge complaints. I would really love to get down to the 135 level, but it's taking a loooong time. At least I can see a downward trend, even if it jumps around from day to day.
TOM is being weird. Haven't had any signs of it since early-Feb. Not that I want it to show up, it's just really bizarre. But I remember going through this last summer as well, so I guess that is bound to happen as I get older. Speaking of older, DS turned 14 yesterday! :eek: Wow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, thanks for the mental smack, I needed it! I hope my motivation sticks around for a while. It should be easier to get up in the a.m since it is light earlier now.

Tracy, I was very impressed with the orchestra. They are the cream of the crop from about 15 different elementary schools. Most are 6th graders, DD was one of the few 5th graders! :goodvibes

:woohoo: on kitchen progress!:woohoo:

:banana:on staying under 140!:banana: come on 135!!!!!! I am very proud of you for walking to the store. :thumbsup2

Happy Belated Birthday to DS! Have you started hearing about wanting to drive yet? Mine drove me crazy for a full year.

I hear you about TOM. Weird over this way also. Can't wait to get this part over. :thumbsup2

Have a great week Amy. :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!:hug:

Ds is 14?, omg where does time go?

If walking a half hour with half of that spent carrying a big gallon of milk, isn't exercise, I don't know what is!

So glad your nights and weekends are lightening up a bit. I swear, I don't remember my mom running us around so much but I guess times were different! I can't wait to hear dd's orchestra, I just need to wait until later tonight after Biggest Loser!

Great job on the scale, you are really solidly under 140. I did that for years where I'd go as long as four months with no TOM then it would start up, then stop again. Now I am getting close to the one year mark and holding my breath I am done for real! Its kinda nice isn't it?;)

Motivation was definitely lacking this week in the workout dept! :guilty: I did work out 3x this week, so that is a positive. I SHOULD have worked out 5x, but slept in on Wed and Fri. :confused3 I COULD work out today, but I most likely won't - I have tons of cleaning to do (dust has finally settled, need to clean all the windows and blinds) and my mind is just not into working out. :sad2:

The scale actually crept up to 140 once this week. A reminder that I can't slack off if I want to stay in the 130's. Food has been decent, but I know I can do better. On BL last week, one of the "civilians" Bob was teaching said she had 5lbs to lose and asked for tips. He said to be 100% diligent with counting calories. I need to take his advice!

After an 11 week break, TOM showed up on Mon. It was weird because I had no PMS symptoms until after it started, and even then they weren't too bad. Then it lasted for 4 days and was gone. :confused: Weird...

Week's recap:
M: 50min BL Cardio Max/138.2
T: 55min Jillian Trouble Zones/138.4
W: rest/139.0
Th: 55min Pilates Sculpt/140.2 :sad1:
F: rest/138.0
S: ?/138.0

I found out yesterday that I have to go to India the week of 5/17. And again the beginning of June (although we are trying to combine that trip with the 1st one) and the big 3/4 week trip will start the last week in June. So, a mixed blessing - at least we finally got our dates, but now I actually have to work! ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa, DS hasn't really mentioned driving, but he has a warped sense of what kind of car he will be getting! Like a new Camaro. Uh, don't think so, buddy! :lmao: And I also told him he will have to get a job to pay for his own gas and help with insurance. He said he wants to get a job now. Not gonna happen, he has to wait for another 2 years!
Tracy, we took the top cabinets off and have plates on the counter. I can't wait for my cabinets to be done! Should be ready in about 10 days or so. Of course the countertop won't be ready until the end of May, but that's OK. We will be painting the ceiling this weekend, I need to take more pix!
Amy, I know, I can't believe DS is 14. DD turns 11 next month too. :eek: I have to go sign her up today for fall soccer. WTH, we just got done with soccer and it's time to sign up again! I sure did enjoy that TOM break, I will definitely not complain if it wants to do that again! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you make it to your 1 year mark! :wizard:
Great job on your workouts, Amy!:cheer2: You know cleaning the house counts as a workout too, right? :thumbsup2
It sounds like you'll be spending a lot of time in India over the next few weeks. I hope each trip goes well for you!:goodvibes
Have a wonderful week, my friend! :hug:
Amy, 3X per week working out is a good thing and given how busy you are, 0X per week could have happned and it didn't!:thumbsup2
How are our kids getting so big and grown up? I can't believe your dd is 11, I think when I first "met" you she was around 6. Time flies!
Well, glad your TOM didn't have pms but I am betting that is why that scale showed the 140. Hope you have another break in between gigs! Yeah, on my one year anniversary, I may throw away all the girlie products once and for all! Or save them for dd who still hasn't had this happen yet at 13.5. I guess any day now heaven help me! Man, if she knew I was typing that on a message board she'd kill me!:rotfl:
Here's to a great week!
This week at work has been CRAZY! :scared: We are trying to prepare for our upcoming trip. We were able to successfully combine the 2 short trips, but now that means I will be in India for 2 weeks! :eek: I guess the good part is that we will have time to go to the Taj Mahal over the weekend. The bad part is that it is 2 WEEKS!!!! And we will have to travel to some different locations so at least I will get to see more than just Delhi this time. :thumbsup2 After this trip I will know exactly when and how long the summer trip will be.
Weight this week has been phenomenal! So weird though, on Thurs I was exactly 5 lbs less than I was on the previous Thurs! :rolleyes: I haven't been this low in ages, I'm so happy about that. :goodvibes Of course I know my body and I know it could creep back up with no warning or fault on my part, but I'm just going to continue watching what I eat and working out at least 3x a week and take what comes out of that. :)
Recap:
M: 25min Shred L2 + 20min TurboJam/136.4
T: 40min TurboJam + 20min AbJam/136.8
W: 55min Jillian Banish Fat/136.0
Th: rest/135.2 :banana:
F: 25min Shred L3 + 20min TurboJam/135.6 :cheer2:
S: rest/135.2 :yay:
My goal is to be less than 135 by the time I leave for India. If it's 134.9, I will be happy! :laughing:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, I think I clean at such a leisurely pace it doesn't count as exercise for me! :rolleyes1 I cleaned all the blinds in the house, I am really bad about that kind of stuff. I need (ok, I WANT!) a housecleaner!

Amy, what is it about girls being so embarrassed about the whole TOM thing? Your DD is lucky to not have started yet! My DD is going to be watching a video at school and I told her to not be embarrassed and that she could ask anything she wanted. She was still embarrassed, then she opened the flood gate of questions. It was cute!

Tracey, nice to see you back! Aww, thanks for listening to DD's concert (that goes to all my WISH buddies! :grouphug:). We are so very proud of her! :cutie:

Congrats on your weigh-ins this week!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that you were able to combine your two trips to India. :goodvibes Two weeks sounds like a long time, but I bet it will go by quickly for you. :wizard: Will your kitchen be done when you get home? That would be an added bonus!:thumbsup2

Have a nice day today!:hug:

Amy, that is great news that you are lower weight wise than you have been in some time! I am thinking all your hard workouts and maybe having your hormones not so out of whack so often are really helping with that.

Dd is very shy about pretty much all of life, so the TOM thing is no exception I suppose! I am thrilled she's a late bloomer, I was too and frankly blooming late was never a problem in my eyes!

That is a long time to be away from your family. But it will be nice for you to see some new areas/sights while you are there. That will hopefully make the time go faster.

This week has been so hectic, trying to get ready for this trip. It started out with my plane tickets - I was booked on British Air, then they announced they were going on strike (of course on the dates of both my outbound AND inbound flights!), not to mention the risk of volcanic ash around London, so I had to switch last minute to American. It's kind of cool - a direct flight from Chicago to Delhi, going over the North Pole! But it stresses me out because it's outside of my British Air comfort zone! I'm sure it will be fine...

And now the trip might take longer than the planned 2 weeks! :eek: We have to go on a site survey, and some of these places are hard to get to! One location is an 11 hr drive (to the foothills of the Himalayas). No closer airport. One-way, steep switchback roads... It'll take 1 day to get there, 1 day for the survey, 1 day to get back. The other location is about a 1 hour flight, then a 4 hour drive. Again - 1 day to get there, 1 day for the survey, 1 day to get back. The third location is only a 1 hour drive, so at least that can be done in a single day! It might spill over Memorial Day weekend, I am so bummed, but what can I do? :confused3 I better be back by DD's b-day on 6/4, though.

Our cabinets are in, they look great, but there are a couple things that still need to be fixed. They are coming back tomorrow to get those things taken care of. Countertops arrive on Monday! So hopefully when I get back, I will have new countertops!!! I am sad that I can't be there to enjoy them for 2 weeks - I swear they better be clean and perfect when I get back! :)

My weight has gone up EVERY day this week! :sad2: The effect of the jello shots and cheesecake from DD's soccer party last Sat never went away... :rolleyes1 I only worked out 3x this week too, but like Amy said, 3x is better than 0x! It's about TOM time, I'm sure that is what is causing the gain. I know it's water retention, and I'm still under 140, but I was loving seeing 135 last week! I plan to take a couple videos with me, and work out while I'm on travel. :thumbsup2

Tracy, thanks! I need to post my updated kitchen pix on Facebook. There's just not enough time in the day!

Amy, DD actually asked me to come talk to her about the video they watched at school. It was cute and I was glad she felt more comfortable about talking about it! I asked if she learned anything new, that I hadn't already told her, and she said the only new thing that was she wasn't supposed to flush pads. Ooops, I guess I forgot to mention that. :rolleyes1 Then she said "Oh, so THAT'S why they always have those little trash cans in the restroom stalls!" :lmao:

Amy, I am sorry things have been so hectic. Just what you don't need having to worry about air strikes! I like my comfort zones when I travel so I totally get where you are coming from with that. But flying over the North Pole will be neat, you can wave to Santa!

Don't stress about the scale, its still under 140 and that is something. Jello shots do wreak havoc and I ought to know!

Too funny about not flushing those pads. :rotfl:

Hang in there with the stress and do the best you can which given what you have going on is a big accomplishment!:hug:

Wow! Sounds like that trip will be a mixed blessing. Good to have some down time & sightsee, but bad to take 2 weeks....plus the air strike problems!

Hope things calm down a bit. Dont' worry about the scale. It will even out when things calm down.

I'm back!!! Finally made it back to DIS, thanks for keeping me on page 1! :grouphug: That trip was by far the most exhausting business trip I have ever been on! :faint: Flew out on Monday, got in Tuesday night. Spent all day Wednesday exploring, had our loooong meeting on Thu and worked all day Friday. Saturday went to Taj Mahal, which is a HORRIBLY long and stressful 5hr drive each way! :eek: Totally worth it, but what a tiring experience. Sunday we flew to Jodhpur, with a layover in Udaipur. These are TINY airports, and we were on a prop plane with 56 passengers. During the layover, they leave you sitting in the plane on the tarmac for 1+ hours. Mind you, the temperature is over 110 deg F. Now, I'm from AZ, but the humidity was way more than I am used to and it was miserable! :sad2: When we finally got to Jodhpur, we had a 4.5hr drive to Jaisalmer. Exhausting day!

The next day (Monday) we spent at the location we will be working at in July. They had a record temperature of 123 deg F. Splendid... We did tour a fort and actually I prefer Jaisalmer over Delhi any day! It'll be neat to explore the area in July. Later that day, we drove back to Jodhpur, and my adventurous buddy and I hiked through the desert to find an old temple and came across a huge palace. The other 4 we were with chickened out and went straight to the airport. Probably smart on their part because I was so hot I didn't cool down for HOURS. Horrible hot flight with sweltering layover, then back to our nice hotel in Delhi. Tuesday was a blur, I can't remember what we did, so we must have worked. Wednesday was another site survey at an air base outside of Delhi (1 hour drive from hell each way). We were supposed to go to the Himalaya location on Fri, but that got canceled, so we were able to leave on the midnight flight Wed/Thu. Yippee!!!

My kitchen looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! When everything is completely installed (just ordered all new appliances, they will be delivered next Sat) I will post a picture.

Weight-wise.... I was 137.0 when I left for India, and when I came back I was 138.0. Not bad considering I didn't work out a single time while I was there... :rolleyes1 Haven't been paying attention to food at all this past weekend, but I did work out for the first time in about 2 weeks this morning. And it felt GOOD! :thumbsup2 I plan to stick to 5-6x a week, because I'll be back in India for 2-3 weeks in July and I know I won't be working out there... :rolleyes1

Amy, I am so glad you are home! That sounds like quite the trip. I have to say, when I read about the plane crash in India I rushed over to your facebook to check on you and was so glad you to see you were at the Taj Mahal. I know India is a huge place but it scared me because I knew you were flying over there to a different location at some point.

That is awesome you basically didn't gain. With all the heat, food you couldn't control and flying (which always makes me bloat) that is very impressive!

I can't even imagine 123 humid heat. I'd be passout or laying in a tub full of ice!

Are you going to post any pics of your trip? I would love to go to that part of the world someday.

Glad you are home and that kitchen looks great! And I know you will be right back in the swing of things with your exercise.:thumbsup2

Amy - Your trip sounds phenomenal! What an awesome opportunity even with the heat and the layover. You are so brave to venture out and explore. I am so envious of that character trait. Congratulations on maintaining your weight so well while you were gone. What did you think of the food? Did you eat a lot of local cuisine?

(BTW, it is so nice to be here and catching up on WISH journals again. I am so glad you are still posting. You are such an inspiration :hug: )

Finally able to get online. Things have been so busy! I did work out 4x this week and weight has been under 140 the whole week (although getting too close - it was 139 on Thu! :eek:). I think TOM might be imminent, due to bloating and the fact that it's been 2+ months... That would explain the carb cravings too! ;)

I think I am going to retire my journal. :flower3: I just don't have time to keep it up anymore! And I've gotten into a good routine with working out and eating right (well, 85% of the time, anyway!) and that is all thanks to the support of my WISH friends! :grouphug:

I will definitely be checking in on everyone when I can, and who knows - if I get that far out of whack again I just might be back! :rolleyes1 Thanks to everyone for your undying support and motivation. It is much appreciated! And I know I can catch most of you on Facebook, so it's not like I'm dropping completely off the map! :goodvibes

Amy, DH was also very worried about the plane crash, and of course I didn't have my cell phone on all day and he called about 7 times, each voicemail more frantic than the previous... I did post some India pix on FB, you'll have to check them out! It felt really good working out this week, I must be either crazy or in the zone! :laughing:

Cam, thanks for stopping by. I do like Indian food and we ate quite a bit of it. Some of the guys in our group are not adventurous at all and never want to leave the hotel. Fortunately I have one buddy who will go anywhere and do anything!

Tracy, they only delivered the fridge on Sat! :mad: They didn't tell us that the stove, dishwasher and microwave were delayed until the 15th. I'm glad we didn't give everything to my SIL yet! I LOVE my fridge and will have to post some pix on FB once everything else is in.
