I am prepared for freezing temps being from Ma. and running in temps like 6 degrees with a wind chill but rain I am not.Rain in the summer/early fall is nice but at 50 degrees and wet from the start is not to exciting.

What is everybody wearing for rain gear? Any good jackets out there? I need to visit my friends at the Sports Authority AGAIN! Even though I will not have trained in it, it compares to the multi layers I have to wear around here.

Anyone with any good advice- starting to FREAK OUT here!!!!!!!!!!

TIA,
Linda

Linda, two words - calm down. I just checked weather.com and accuweather.com and found a bit of a disparity; weather.com has Sat. with a 40% chance of showers and Sun with a 30% chance of showers (meaning a 60% and 70% chance of no showers) while accuweather has a "slight" chance of passing showers on Sunday only. Take the two, mix them together and you have a very slim chance of "passing showers" and in we all know Fl weather these showers will probably be in the afternoon. By that time you will be relaxing with a celebratory cocktail basking in the glow of a goal well accomplished.

While I am a little worried, I also remember that in Florida it tends to rain more LATER then earlier.

I am planning to go buy some LARGE black trash bags today to help keep warm and dry in the "holding pen"

HA!HA! Thanks I needed that! It's just that I planned for everything but that.

I like the way you mathematically analyze the weather forecast. You are right !

Hi Linda,

Another Western Mass'r here - from Blandford, work in West Springfield and will be doing my 6 miles at the Y in Westfield tomorrow.

Will you be at any of the meets?

Local Orlando weather says any rain will be "light" & "intermittent".

With scattered cloud cover forecast I am really not worried about it. Much.

And even if it DOES, it only rains about 15 seconds at a time here. It's Florida!!

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelax. After all, you could running butt crack deep in snow!

If it rains I just wear a hat to keep the rain out of my eyes. I don't like wearing rain jackets or other stuff because I get hot, and I always end up getting wet regardless so.....

For me, when it rains it's like jumping into a pool, that is after a minute it is a non-factor. But, if I have to stand around in the rain before the start I usually wear a garbage bag to toss as soon as I get too warm, usually a mile or two in regardless of how wet it is.

Best of luck!!:goodvibes

Don't forget to bring a plastic garbage bag to sit on or wear if it is raining while we wait. Once we get going, if it's raining, oh well.

Put dry clothes or jacket in the bag drop.

I hat that R word though.

According to Ed's dictionary:

Forecast=1)educated guess, 2)barely educated guess, 3)wild #%$ guess. Unless it is 24 hours or less out, it's still just definition 3. 24 hours out, definition 2 and 2 hours out, definition 1.

A weather forecaster has the best job in the world. They can call their guess accurate (Acu-weather forecast), be wrong 85% of the time (sometimes scaring people to death) and still keep their job and be respected. I don't believe it until I see LIVE RADAR or feel/hear it where I am!!!!!!

Anybody look at today's forcast? 10% chance of rain on Sat and Sun according to weather.com - and you know that my beklief is that means a 90% chance of NO RAIN. And Accuweather has a "slight chance of evening showers on Sat only. Bring your hats, sunglasses and sunscreen!:cool1:
