i read on another thread that more rooms were just released for the black out dates b/c the vacancy rates are still too high. that is good news for crowd levels.
i believe it too, b/c we originally couldn't get poly, and then all of a sudden, voila, it was available!

Wow, it looks pretty evenly spread out throughout the month. That's better news than I thought it would be. We're there 4/5 through 4/11 and I expected that week to SPIKE.

Just voted...my family and I will be there March 29-April 4, ASMu Family Suite.

I can't wait. To be honest, this trip needs to be a good one from both a crowd and weather perspective or I'll never get the wife back down there! We've been in Sept (WAY too hot!!!) and Dec (actually too cool, it triggered DS asthma), although both were good crowd-wise. I think this coming trip will be a good one for weather, let's just hope the crowds are managable.

My family and I will be in Orlando 2nd week of April! We are really excited! The last time we were there was in 2004! The kids are now or will be 12 and 17! So it will be a much different experience!!:)

I'm wondering if peope who are on here are more aware of crowd levels and tend to go when it is a little slower and cheaper (the last week will be regular season again and most spring breaks are over)
I don't think this poll would really represent the general public.
Also when looking for rooms the last week of April I could find one in every resort except CR-only thing left was suites.

Hi Everyone,

We really wanted to go 4/18-4/25, but the UG crowd levels scared us, so now we are going 4/22-4/29. Based on the UG, the crowd levels will be much lower those dates. I certainly hope so. We are staying at the Poly - hopefully the Tokuleau (ok, I spelled it wrong). We loved it there in April 07.

Just my opinion, but I think the UG always puts high crowd levels the week before a holiday because that is just a peak travel time. We have done the week before Easter twice. The first time in 2004 when Easter was early April (like it is this year) and it was packed to the gills. But, last year, when Easter was in March - it was not as crowded. Yes, it was crowded but not as bad. I noticed that the spring breaks posted here on the boards were more spread out last year. We will be there this year because DDs high school band is performing. It will be interesting to see how the crowds are.

Last month, due to the uncertain market, we had to cancel our trip booked for next week. Just found that all seems to be back in order again, at least well enough that we can re-book. Want to shoot for Week-5 at the Pop, is this an OK time before the heat and after the "Spring Break" crowds are over? I'm not that savvy and need your input. We were there late May tyhe last couple years, and the heat/humidity was awful.Thanx in advance. (I'm brushing up on the Hustle now......)

We are booked at the Pop. I can't wait. My mom and I have been going in May for the past 3 yrs and this is my daughter's 3rd trip.

I voted for week #3. Our actual dates are 4/9-4/17. It's my two highschoolers Spring Break and as they specifically asked not to be taken out of school this year, our options were limited.

We were there for Memorial Day weekend last year which wasn't too bad. Luckily we just bought into DVC so we won't feel pressured to cram a lifetime's worth of vacation into this one trip.

i am a little apprehensive about crowd levels...mostly not being able to get back into the parks if we leave midday for a rest...
but i just checked and there is plenty of availability at all resort levels for our week! (4/4-4/11)
i am expecting it to be busy for sure, but hopefully not wall to wall like after Christmas.

I'm hoping the crowds aren't too bad as well. I've been there at WDW's busiest times (summer) and every ride had 2+ hour waits...we were lucky to get on 4 rides all day at a park and its terrible standing in the hot sun with kids, with no shade (Space Mountain when the line extends outside, Spaceship Earth, etc) or anything to drink :faint: (poor planning on our part back then ... we were amateurs! LOL) When we went in 2006 in Sept/Oct you could just waltz onto all the rides with either no wait or a 5-10 min. wait tops, but then in 2007 we went in Sept/Oct and it was totally PACKED. If you didn't manage to grab a FP before they were all distributed already, you couldn't even get on any of the more popular rides at all. Lines for buses were torturous, and the ramps for wheel chairs and those scooter things were constantly breaking down, so it took forever to get on a bus. I'm just hoping it's not going to be like that this time. If the parks are way too busy, we plan to resort hop and check out some of the other resorts. I've only seen a few of them....I'm very partial to POFQ...even after staying at GF for a week, I still love POFQ the best. :goodvibes

So it seems crowds are hard to predict - I read an article that said WDW attendance was down I think it said 7% due to the economy. I guess Disney is offering buyout packages to over 600 execs spread over the parks. Wow...that's a lot. If enough don't take the buyouts, they're gonna have layoffs. So maybe this is an indication that the parks really won't be super crowded this year? :confused3 Disney is obviously drumming up business with the awesome 4/3 deal. I read also that WDW is cutting back on some things at the parks like no character meals at Liberty Tree anymore and Fantasmic is down to a couple nights a week now, etc.

I hope that is the case since that is the week we will be there - but I won't count on it. One thing that might help is that the prices are much higher in the weeks surrounding Easter - so that might be why more people are going at the end of the month - lower cost. Of course, we don't have a choice for this trip because DDs high school band is there and that is why we are going.

Help! Were going to be at OKW 4/27 - 5/6. Me princess: , DH pirate: , DS (5) pirate: , DS (8) pirate: & DS (5) pirate: . My 15yo is trying to find someone there to hang out with instead of mom, dad and 2 little brothers. Anyone going during the same time frame with the same issue? Last yr he'd take off at whatever park we'd be at and check in with us throughout the day but It broke my heart seeing him by his self while at Disney.
