Is everyone eating at Pop or somewhere else later that night? We've got ADRs for 6 at Spoodles (staying at BCV), but I'm wondering if we will make it from the Pop meet? We'll be cutting it close as it is to the meet (doing the Backstage Magic tour that day). How long will everyone be at the meet? And I'm assuming Pop will have a basic pasta dinner available?

Anyone know if there is anywhere over around the Epcot resorts area that will offer a quick pasta dinner that night if we don't make Spoodles? I don't want to eat as early as 4:30 at the meet, but then again I don't wanna eat much past 6.

Thanks for any advice!

Shan, I'm not much help since I'm eating at Spoodles 7:30 Fri night. Eating dinner at 4:30 doesn't work for me either. I thought I read somewhere (but I don't remember where) that a lot of restaurants add a pasta dish to their menu for the weekend of the races. Have you considered Captain's Grill? I haven't eaten there in years (it was YCG then), but I have friends who ate there in Nov and loved it.

Yes, alotof the restaurants and food court type places will have a "amrathon" weekend pasta meal available. At least they did last year.
Meet start at 4:30, depends on how long you want to stay - need to get a group photo. Then I know the DR group is holding a meet at 5pm right after so still alot of people hanging around after for that.

They actually have pretty good food at the Pop food court. We were surprised. We don't do fast food and the first time we did the meet we also planned on another place for dinner. After we saw what was available and the lower cost we have eaten there every meet since.

OK, maybe we'll just stay and eat at Pop. I hope we don't miss the group photo, our tour ends around 4! We'll be coming straight over from it. I was looking at the Spoodles menu and there really isn't anything that would appeal to me as far as the night before the half. I want plain pasta, a simple red sauce and possibly some grilled chicken. :confused3 I did look at Big River's menu - they do have a pasta dish that seems pretty simple, but they don't really take ressies. I love the whole Epcot resorts area so much, but I really hate there isn't a food court over there.

I have a feeling we will be off property! We have to miss the Pop meet due to plane arrival times :( and the other half is not really a Disney fan. :(

I don't eat pasta especially before a race. Does the Pop have a steak option?

I think we'll most likely eat at the Pepper Market though we haven't really made any set plans yet.

Shan, I posted this on the restaurant thread but just in case you check here first:

Last year I did the Tusker House buffet before the race. They didn't have pasta but had aplenty of carbs in the form of vegies and cous cous.

Shan--last year Spoodles had special marathon weekend offerings--nice pasta dishes. We're eating there Friday night. It was a good meal and worth doing again!

We ended up at DHS last year the night before the Minnie 15K and ate at the Hollywood and Vine buffet. We found plenty of carbs and also lean protein--my body does better with seafood and they had shrimp and several light fish dishes. The place was empty--no waiting that night and the food was all fresh and hot. DH has said he would like to do that buffet again, but I have no idea what he is going to decide that night. He's not a planner.

We enjoy going to the meets and Pop has decent offerings. As soon as we get back from the Pop meet/eat I "gear up" and ready for early a.m. wake-up (yeah, like I sleep) then at least lie in bed to rest before getting that early call. So, eating at Pop has worked for me and I get to eat with our great WISH Team members too!

I'll either get something at POP or ESPN. I don't think the rest of my group will come to the meet. I have to pick them up at the airport at 4PM, and will probably drop them at a park, then head to POP. We're attending a dessert reception at EPCOT at 7:30 (Illuminations is at 8PM that night) so I may try to grab a bit at ESPN.

Trying to decide WHAT to eat. Restaurant food can have so much butter, oil and fat, and that really wreaks havoc with my system.

Peekaboos over at the Swan
has lots of choices!
I love it over there.
It's a buffeteria, so no ressies required!
