Well here it is. My first attempt at anything worth any real significance on the Dis. Just a warning. I don't know how this is gonna turn out. I think that a year out may be a little too early to start writing a pre-trip report but I have antsy pants and just can't wait any longer. Also, although I have been to WDW once before (June 2008) I feel like there are things we missed out on and would love some recommendations while planning our second trip. WE being my husband and I...more on that later.
NOW..for the introductions.
I'm Brittney. :flower3: A full time college student majoring in All Level Special Education...that is actually the reason for our next trip to Mickey's House. I will be graduating college in December 2009 and we will be boarding the flight to Orlando two days after I walk the stage! My sweet sweet husband booked this trip as a surprise for me and knew better than to wait too long to tell me about it. I'm your typical over-analyzer and avid planner, and he knows that...bless his heart for living with me. Here is a picture from our last trip to WDW...

Fake bake much??? LOL
As for my DH, Tim. :firefight He is a big hearted firefighter/paramedic and is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Our first trip to Disney was for our honeymoon and I never thought we would ever go back...and I kind of thought that it was my fault. He is a very go with the flow kinda guy, and I'm not. Well of course I'm not a guy...but I'm not very go with the flow either. Every single day we were there we started early with ADRs at the butt-crack of dawn, and ended late with one thing or another (usually EMHs) and every minute between was spent "making it there on time" or "doing this at this time then speed walking to the other side of the park to be here at this time". Whether it was because of the exhaustion we were already dealing with from the wedding, the time difference between Texas and Florida (only one hour...I know), or the sheer anxiety of my insane down to the minute planning, when we headed to the airport I heard my husband utter one sentence that made my skin crawl...and truly broke my heart.
"I've had about all the magic I can take."
At that very moment I just knew that I was doomed. I would never get to return to my favorite place on Earth. Ever.
THAT is why this trip is so special to me. Not just because we are simply going back to WDW (which is a treasure in itself) but because Tim concocted the idea on his own, as a surprise. Not only did he want to take me for my graduation present, but he, apparently, wanted to go back himself. I am uber excited and I'm proud to say that even through his level headed, quiet, even-keel personality, I think he is excited as well...
So I guess this is it for my first EVER chapter in the world of Pre-Tripping. Stay tuned...there is definitely more to come! And it'll be SOON!

Hi Brittney!
Oh, you two are such a cute as a button couple! And no, I don't think a year out is too far out to plan or start a PTR. I'm planning to go (ok, I'm really hoping I can make it work out) in Sept., 2010. That's 20 months away, and I'm just longing for that time to pass quickly! I imagine I'll start mine about a year out too. ;)
Anyway, I'm here for the ride. I've only been to the World 3 times (Jan., 2000, April, 2006, and April, 2008) so I certainly don't have all the answers, but we did a fair amount, and I can offer my insights on what we did experience. For me, half the fun or more of the trip is planning it out, and researching!
So, looking forward to your next installment. I think the next year for you will go very quickly with finishing up school and hanging out with all of us too. :cool1:

THANK YOU! :) And I sure do hope this year goes quickly! Disney can't get here fast enough! (Neither can graduation either actually...) It seems like when you have things your looking forward to time passes as slowly as it possibly can and I'm dealing with a double whammy! LOL Well CONGRATS on your 2010 trip in the making...be sure and let me know with you start your PTR! :)

Firstly...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!! I can finally say our next Disney trip is THIS YEAR!!!!!!! WOOO HOOOOO!!!!!! :dance3:
Anywho, on with the show...
New characters this chapter:
My mother and my father. (Pic from our wedding...but I'm sure you could tell that by the dress and flowers...)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/wedding.jpg
Before my husband told me about our trip THIS December ;) , he told my parents. Now let me tell you. For him wanting to keep this a surprise for awhile longer, he had some guts telling my mother. God bless her heart, she can't keep a surprise to save her life.
Example:
One evening in October 2007 my husband made the trip to my parents house to have "the talk" with my dad. Nothing formal, him and my dad have known each other for YEARS through their work (my dad is retired from the fire department where DH works). ANYWAY, Tim asked for "permission to propose" and Dad of course sid yes. Well let me tell you...Tim wasn't even out of their driveway before my mother was blowing up my phone. SERIOUSLY? :confused3 Aren't these kinds of things supposed to be SURPRISES?! Thanks mom. Poor Tim had this huge surprise romantic weekend planned and she, unknown to him, told me every last detail. Of course I didn't tell him until AFTER I had the ring on my hand that I knew the plans the entire time BUT never-the-less, he should have learned his lesson then.
So, my parents knew about the WDW surprise a few weeks before Christmas rolled around. Christmas Day we were all sitting around opening presents and I got to noticing that almost every present I recieved from my mother was Disney related. A long sleeved Mickey shirt, Chip N Dale PJs, Mickey sleep set...she was serious about this Disney thing...and that's not my mother. She's more of a gift cards and things for the house kind of gift giver. Very practical things. As I opened my gifts, one by one, I saw her looking at Tim and smiling. I knew then something was up but honestly, the thought of another trip to Disney never crossed my mind. I had actually come to grips with the fact that I had burned my bridges to WDW on our last trip. :guilty:
Tim knows that my mother and I are close, and I'm BETTING that through all the Disney garb he figured that she had already told me, so Christmas night when we got home he decided to go ahead and break the news. Now Tim never does anything half-way and he had put a little thought into how he was gonna tell me...
I'll tell yall about that, AND another Disney surprise next time! ;)

Great start to your Pre-TR. I am exactly like you in the planning field. My Husband and I also went to WDW for our honeymoon, and I, like you, thought that I had blown another chance of ever going back because I went into commando mode. I can't wait to read more about your plans, I was addicted after the first paragraph!

This is gonna be a rather long installation, and I have yet 2 more characters to introduce for this...
My Aunt (my mother's older sister), Gay-Gay (I will explain the name later), and my Uncle, Kevin. (The two on the far left...isn't it sad that the only recent pics I have of my family are from our wedding? I think some got taken at Christmas...maybe I should look into that...)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/IMG_0161.jpg
So I guess before I go any farther, I should explain how my aunt, whose real name is Karen, got pinned with the name Gay-Gay.
I have always heard it said that people from the South are more inclined to have odd names for family members, and I don't know why, but by that definition we are definitley "Southern family". We have Big Mama, Big Papa (neither of which were very "big"...may they RIP), Aunt Ern (This is not pronounced as 2 words...its aintern), Uncle Chick...and not one just "gradma or grandpa". They are Nana, Pawpaw, Memaw, Pa...you get the idea. And I must admit, I can't blame these names on just anyone. (Now I'm telling on myself :rolleyes1) Me being the only child, the only niece, and the only grandchild, so many of these names were coined by yours truly. Anyway, I was one of those kids that came out talking...and much to many people's dismay I haven't quit yet. LOL. When I was little, at family functions, my mother would point around the room and ask me "Who is that?" trying to get some cute little kid answer out of me. Well for the longest time when she would get to my aunt, Karen, I wouldn't say a word. I would look at her with a deer in the headlights look and start shaking my head no. :sad2: This went on for awhile until one night my aunt was keeping me, and was determined to earn a name.
She asked me, "Can you say K?"
I replied "Gay".
She then asked, "Well can you call me KK?"
And there it was. She was Gay-Gay...the little kid version of KK. And she's been Gay-Gay ever since then. And not only to me, but to everyone in my fairly large extended family and a few people who aren't even really related (such as my friends), and now my DH's family.
Well I told you all of that to tell you this; the last time she went to Disney, Epcot had just opened. (Now I'm telling her age...ooops :hippie: . She would SHOOT me if she knew) She has always talked about wanting to go back but it really showed itself when we got home from our Disneymoon. I made a DVD of all of the pictures that we took on our trip (set to Disney music of course) and she had me bring it over one night to watch it. As the 4 of us (me, Tim, Gay-Gay, and Uncle Kevin) sat there watching it, about half-way through we realized that she was crying. She was crying for Disney World. She is a very emotional woman. She cried when I told her we were Honeymooning in the most magical place on earth, she cried as I told her our dailly plans including the character dinings and EMHs, she cried looking at the pictures, she cried when I told her we were going back...WDW just makes her cry in general. Or should I say her desire to go there makes her cry.
Her and my uncle are business owners and barely have time to even have a weekend off, much less take a week long trip somewhere...or so she thinks. (Did I mention that I work at their business? It's a semi-temporary thing...just until I finish school) Well, I was at work the other day and walked in to find my uncle putting around on the Disney website. Long story short, their anniversary is in April and he is taking her to Disney-AS A SURPRISE!!!!! Bad part is, I feel my mother coming through in myself...it's been everything I can do not to spill the beans to her, and I have 4 more months to go! I MUST STAY STRONG! :scared: I am so excited for her...and sadly enough, I'm excited that my uncle has never been, and doesn't know the first thing about planning a trip, so I am pretty much planning the trip for them! I got enough feedback from telling her about our trip to have a pretty good idea of the things she would be interested in doing. So, WISH ME LUCK.
Now, back to our trip...
So we got home Christmas night and I was just doin some things around the house, laundry I'm sure. For just two people we go through more laundry than most families of 4 that I know. Tim realized I had finally planted it on the couch to fold a load and emerged from the office (yea I call it the office so I feel fancy...it's a spare bedroom with desks and computers. LOL),
"Hey, I have something I want you to watch with me"
Now I have to admit, we are kind of behind the times. We just got our digital cable box with DVR earlier this year, and to say that my husband is not very tech savvy is putting it lightly. So needless to say, when he grabbed the remote and started pushing buttons (standing 2 inches away from the box might I add) it made me a little nervous. The month before we took our trip in June, I had caught Samantha Brown's Disney special on the Travel Channel and DVRed (is that a word?) it. We had watched it almost every night for the entire month before we left...it was such a great way to get ready! Well, apparently he had DVRed (there it is again) Samatha Brown's Disney Holiday Magic. Well we watched it and it was, of course, ahhhhhhmazing. I was sitting there ooooing and ahhhhhhing at the whole thing. Well right before the show ended Tim said,
"Man, this is so cool. I wish I could see this in real life...it would be so much better than on TV."
I was so enthralled in the TV that I'm sure I just smiled and nodded my head. Apparently that wasn't enough of a reaction for him.
Him- "Baby? Wouldn't you like to see this in real life?"
Me- "Oh my goodness yes. It looks so beautifu."
Him- "Well your going to."
Me- "WHAT?!?!"
Him- "You heard me. Your gonna see it."
Then he pulled the reservation confirmation e-mail that he had printed out of the drawer on our coffee table and handed to me. Then I turned into my aunt...and started crying. And cried. And cried. And screamed and hugged a little. Then cried some more. By this time I have both the babies (OH yall haven't met the babies yet...I'll tag that on to the end of this post...told you it was gonna be a long one!!!!) barking and whining and jumping and wondering what in the world was going on.
I was absolutly beside myself. And rightfully so!!
More about the official plans next time...I'll end this chapter introducing our 2 children before it gets any longer.

Dolly Parton- About to be 2 y/o (in Feb) Border Collie/Jack Russel mix. Yes that's what I said and no I don't know how it happened. She is the size of a Border Collie with the spunk, and energy, and ATTITUDE of a Jack Russel. She is a handful to say the least. She has endless amounts of energy and has the attitude of a 16 year old girl...if you know what I mean. And she is an avid kisser. She gives more puppy sugar than any dog I know. Lastly, this girl is SMART. And I know people always say that their dogs are smart but this one...I've never seen anything like it. She opens doors (using a variety of handles), knows a ton of words that she probably shouldn't being that she is of the canine species ("MeMe" and "PaPa" are 2 of many...that is how she knows my parents and those words can NOT be spoken in any tone or she will be posted at the front door for hours), and she has just recently figured out how to open her cage from the INSIDE...the second of two doors. The one that is NOT zip-tied shut because she figured THAT ONE out months ago. These are only a few of her genius dog attributes...
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/bbb039.jpg
Johnny Cash - 1 year old Cocker Spaniel. Most of the time he has the personality of an old man. Doesn't really get excited very often (except when MeMe and PaPa come over)...but he tends to be very influenced by his big sister. He never learned to hike his leg to potty and it has broken DH's heart. Tim blames it on being around Dolly his whole life, and not having any "male dog" influences. I think it's because he's too lazy to use the extra energy to get it off the ground. Having said that, he is never too lazy to find something to chew on. And he's not very picky. Lately his favorite has been the pinecones out of the potpourri I sat out for Christmas. But he is Mommy's little snuggle bug.
Until next time...hope everyone has a great weekend!

First, DVRed is MOST DEFINITELY a word! My DH actually works for the cable company so we haven't watched TV any other way for a long time! LOVE IT! And....I loved that Samantha Brown Holiday special! How cool that he used that to surprise you!
Your Pre-TR is awesome and I can't wait to hear more! Cute dogs, by the way....and I love their names! Until next time.....popcorn::

LUCKY! We are finally getting the hang of..."hey if we just start watching it 10 or 15 minute late we can fast forward through the commercials." I dunno. I guess we just forget about it most of the time. But it sure would be nice to remember!

Now you sound like me when it comes to Christmas stuff! I got my husband a gift certificate to get Flo Masters for his truck (ya know...the more I talk the more I give away just how country we are...lol) for Christmas and he had them on there by November 1. Ugh. I just can't keep those kinds of things secret!

Happy Monday!!!!
I know Monday's around here are pretty dull. Maybe this story will give someone a chuckle...and it becomes *sorta* related to Disney at the end. I have been working on my next "real" installment (trip details) but I just have to throw this in before I finish that one.
So I am actually scared of very few things. Snakes, spiders, massive bodies of water...and attics. BUT, I am also a very determined person and have the whole "if you do it I can too" mentality. That, and my fear of attics apprently doesn't mix.
Now I don't know where all of yall are from. It seems that what houses are equipped with as far as basements and attics go, varies in different parts of the country. Some regions all the houses have fantastic basements that people can turn into actual living spaces, or use for storage. We don't have a basement. Some people's houses have fantastic attics with real stairs that lead to them and cute little attic windows. Again, attics that could be used for actual living space. We don't have one of those either. We have a drop down door in our garage ceiling with a rickity ladder attached to it that will whop you in the head if your not careful. :guilty: The 10 feet of space that surrounds that opening is what we call "storage".
Anywho, yesterday, my husband and I were doing the one task that we had been dreading since the day after Thanksgiving. Taking down Christmas decorations. Now, with this being our first year in our house, the one little measly box of decorations that we started the season with ended up being 3 or 4 large Rubbermaid tubs worth. I just so happen to be obsessed with Christmas decorations, and also just happen to have an issue buying them (or NOT buying them, depends on how you look at it and who you are).
Well I got my one little box filled and decided that I need another empty tub, which was "stored" in the attic, which I am scared of. My husband was attempting to take the lights off of the tree and I didn't want to bother him. So I got my happy little butt up and decided I was going to go after the tub myself. I got to the garage, pulled the little string to pull the piece of plywood covering the hole down, and dodged the ladder as it came tumbling down. I stood there looking up into the hole for what seemed like a few minutes then I made my move. I started up the ladder. I made it about half the way up before I stopped again. My head was just barely peeking over the top of the hole and I was taking in my surroundings. Eyeing my prize. I needed to know exactly where my tub was so I could be prepared. Get in, get it, throw it down the hole, and get out. All the while the voices in my head...
"Is this really a good idea?"
"It's right there."
"Brittney, get down and just tell Tim to get it."
"No. I can do this."
Against my better judgement (which I will realize in just a few seconds) I decided to trudge ahead in my journey for my empty blue tub. I climb the rest of the way up the ladder and begin looking for a place to put my foot. Exit the ladder, enter the attic. There was a piece of wood (I'm guessing it was a rafter?) directly to my left, in the direction of the tubs. I grabbed on to something (???) with my hand and put my foot on the piece of wood. I was fine. I was in the attic.:cool1: I made it over to my tub, fought with it for a minute. You know when you stack those tubs in one another and they get suctioned together? I had to unsuction the ones I wanted. (Yes that became plural, I decided while I was up there I would just go ahead and get 2 or 3.) I won the battle. I tossed the tubs right at the edge of the hole so after I got my feet back on the ladder I could just reach up and grab them. I started making my way back to the exit. As I headed that direction I began looking around and trying to decide how I would gain access to the ladder again. Should I sit and slide down to a lower rung? Should I go around to the front and back down it. Should I go back to the front and walk down a few rungs like stairs then turn around to......
CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:scared1:
The next thing I knew I was hanging, by my hips. The top half of my body in the attic and the lower half out the garage ceiling. Now I never thought I would ever say this. I never thought ANY woman would EVER say this for that matter. But gee golly. How I am thankful to have wide hips!!! Any narrower and my poor body would have ended up smashing into the concrete garage floor. I had, very apparently, missed the wooden rafter and stepped through the sheetrock (garage)ceiling/(attic)floor. By this time I am SCREAMING bloody murder for my poor husband. Reminder: when I left the living room I did not tell him where I was going or what I was doing. He had no clue I had intentions of getting in the attic. So naturally when he flung the garage door open and found my legs flailing around from the ceiling he was surprised. He might have sort of expected it if I would have told him where I was going. LOL Well he climbed up the ladder to my rescue. After a few minutes of trying to calm me down, he got me back on my feet and back on the ladder. I was crying, and shaking, and my poor hips were hurting and already bruising up. In the midst of the drama though, I got another sweep of determination. I was almost on the floor when I remembered the reason for my trip. MY TUBS. I went back up the ladder a few steps, grabbed the boxes I had ever so intelligently placed right at the hole, and FLUNG them down behind me, barely missing my husband. They weren't gonna get the best of me!!!!!!!!!!
Well we stood there a few mintues surveying the damage. Luckily, we just finished remodeling our bathroom and DH just so happened to have some extra sheetrock lying around. I was heading inside to survey my bodily damage when DH blurts out,
"This does mean we dont have to ride Tower Of Terror when we go back to Disney right? I mean, you did pretty much just ride it, and I was only gonna ride it because you wanted to!"
Typical Tim. Ugh.
So anyway, aside from some pretty nasty brusing on the outside of my hips (both sides), and a little bruising on my pride, I survived the incident...and I learned my lesson. I will NEVER attempt to get in the attic ever again...and yes. We are STILL riding TOT :goodvibes

Too funny! OUr family has a serious knack for doing that same thing. But in Oregon, we have basments so we go below ground when we step wrong. I did the same thing once. At my husband's anut's cabin at Mt. Hood there is a trap door that leads to the basement. It was open and I didn't see it and backed straight into and down it. I was bruised in lots of places and was so embarrassed. For the next few days, and even to this day 15 years later, his family still makes fun of me singing, "Oh my goodness, oh my soul, there goes Liesa down the hole." It's slightly funny now, but was soooooooooooooo not funny then.
My poor son, when we was 3, (this is a bad mommy moment- no flaming!) fell to the basement too. I had the return air vent cover off to vacuum it out, and one of the other kids called me for something. The next thing I hear is a tremendous crash, and some muffled crying. I knew exactly what had happened, and thought I'd find him at the bottom in a "ripped-to-shreds- from-sharp-metal-heap" at the bottom. :scared1: I was bracing myself for calling 911, but when I got to the basement, and found that he had ripped off the flexible plastic air vent tube and was fine, I was very relieved! It had really cushioned his fall! Thank God!!
So, if you want to know the fastest way down, just call us up, we'll be happy to show you the way. :sad2:

It's slightly funny now, but was soooooooooooooo not funny then.
You sound like me! I cried the vast majority of the day yesterday. Simply because the whole incident just scared me. During one of my first spells soon after it happened DH told me that he wished he would have thought quick enough to grab my camera. :sad2: I told him that was VERY out of line..."that we would look back and laugh at it eventually, but it won't be today"
I guess you can see...it took me less than 24 hours to move it from the "traumatic" folder to the "hilarious" one. :rotfl2:

So it's official:yay:
7 nights back at POR! My fave!!!!!! December 14 through 21. (No pictures = no fun! I'm gonna throw some from or last trip into this installment just for kicks)
A few slight changes this time though...(these are all things that Tim and I discussed AFTER he made the initial reservations)
Last time we stayed in a King Bed room...we didn't bother paying the extra for that this time. We actually kind of like the idea of having an extra bed to lay all our luggage on. Our suitcases stayed in the floor last time and it was really kind of a pain...we wanna spread out this time! Also, last time, I'm convinced, we were in the very farthest away building they could find. It was nice as far as the privacy, and really was very quiet. Pretty close to a pool and a laundry room. On the other hand...we had to walk, what felt like, 20 minutes every morning just to get to the buses, and in the evenings after walking ALL DAY LONG the last thing we wanted to do when we got back to the resort after EMHs was walk another 20 minutes. Therefore, we requested to be put in a building a little closer to everything. Not to mention the fact that we didn't refill our mugs ONCE, simply due to the fact that it was too long of a walk. It was so much easier just to walk down to the vending machine.

Ah...home away from home
Due to Tim's work schedule at the fire department, we are going to be flying. He can only take a limited number of days off (especially since it's going to be during the Holiday season) and it allows us to spend more time in Disney and less time getting there. We flew last time we went. It was actually both of our first times to fly and thanks to a little help from my local pharmacy (;) ) I kind of enjoyed what I remember of it. :lmao: We don't have our flights booked yet...can't book until January 26.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/plane1.jpg
Right before we took off...
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/plane2.jpg
I made Tim sit by the window...and he stayed awake the whole time.
As of right now we are in standby mode for tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party...no one that we have talked to has really been able to tell us when they will go on sale, only that they sale out pretty quick. One lady told us June, another guy told us Febuary...??? Do any of you have any idea when to start looking for them?
Another thing...on our last trip, instead of using the Magical Express we took a town car from MCO, and for a few reasons. The main reason was because we are Dr. Pepper fanatics. We knew that our beloved DP wasn't sold anywhere on Disney property so we HAD to stop and get some to take to the hotel room. The other reason is because DH...he hates waiting. It's this horrible issue he has. Like yea, I get a little frustrated if we go out to eat and the wait is more than 30 minutes...Tim on the other hand is a different story. If there is one person standing in front of us, "UGH! We're gonna be waiting forever. Let's go somewhere else." I have gotten a little more used to it but honestly, it still really gets on my nerves. He has zero patience. None. Nada. Zilch. But only when it comes to waiting. He has patience for everything else. Even my obsessive Disney planning.:mickeyjumWe haven't decided for sure if we're going the Town Car route again this time or if DH is gonna try to push through his waiting issue. We have also heard about a grocery delivery service that runs to the resorts??? Maybe they could bring us some DP? If anyone knows anything about this, some info would be greatly appreciated :)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/enter.jpg
One of the perks of taking a Town Car...the driver noticed me trying to get a picture of the entrance and very abruptly pulled off the road long enough for me to take a few snapshots
We had the Deluxe Dining Plan on our trip in June and we have decided to stick with it this time. It's way more food than either of us could ever eat, but it's nice to know that no matter what time, day or night, or where you are, you will always be able to get something to eat. DH is one of those people that gets grouchy when he's hungry. He's like a baby in that respect, AND in the fact that he eats every 4 hours. :)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ttt.jpg
See what I mean? This is his "it's early and I'm hungry put the camera down and just let me freakin eat" face. Aw. I :lovestruc him.
I guess booking everything so far out in advance has it's pros and cons. It's great because you know it's set in stone. It's done. But on the other hand there are so many more things that need to be done but CAN'T be done until your trip gets closer and I am just really ANXIOUS. :hyper: Can't book airlines till the end of January, have to wait for ADRs till mid June (not only because you can't book any earlier but because EMH schedules don't come out until then...and we schedule our days by those things!), no telling when we will get our tickets for MVMCP. How do these people expect me to plan my little butt off if I don't know anything!?!?

I'm loving the pre-trip report! :rotfl2:
I also have succumbed to the dreaded attic floor. Luckily I managed to only fall with one leg through the ceiling in the laundry room. It has become one of the favorite family memories that DMom and DDad love to reminisce about. To anyone who will listen. The funny part is it happened 14 years ago and the hole is still in the ceiling.
I'll be subscribing. Can't wait to hear more.

Yes I know...I never really had the desire to fly but it's definitely an experience I don't regret now. I didn't take hardly any food pictures our last trip but I'm going to make it a point to take more this time!!!!

Well and we felt so stupid too! Apparently there are additional "bus depots" around the resort but even with the map, we never could seem to find them. It was our 3rd or 4th day there before we could even get from the main stop back to our room without getting lost  I believe that 16 might have been one of the ones we requested...don't remember right off the top of my head though.

Just wanted to say that I love the updates. I'm so sorry about what happened with your attic. Around here we have basements and I'm scared of those because I HATE going into dark places. However, I think you may have added the attic to the list of my fears :lmao:
Thanks so much for the pictures of POR, I haven't ever seen it in person but it looks beautiful. Would you mind telling me what the surroundings look like? I am thinking of booking the carriage ride at Port Orleans as part of our Anniversary night celebration but haven't decided yet.
Also, as far as having groceries delivered try gardengrocer.com I've never used them but I have read some TRs of people who have and I haven't seen any complaints yet. And I just checked and they do have DP...don't worry I'm addicted to it too :)
Can't wait for new updates!!

You can prpbably tell from my profile that we fly a fair amount. I think our family has probably flown the equivalent of around the world about 6 times combined! I never get tired of it, because it always means a new adventure. :rotfl:
Well, keep us all posted. I just asked a friend if she'd like to meet up with me in Sept., 2010 (I know that seems like forever away!) and she said YES! So, now I'm just waiting until it's a "reasonable" far- awayness to start a PTR..
Untill then, I dream through you. :cloud9:

HI THERE!!!!! Welcome to the PTR! :welcome: Well first off I'll start by saying congrats on your anniversary!!!!!!!! POR is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! There is wildlife everywhere (we had bunnies right at the bottom of our stairs almost every morning). It's very...naturey. Little trails everywhere, very well taken care of (of course...it's Disney!). We took the boat from the marina at the main building through POFQ to DTD and it was so beautiful. I think I have some more pictures of the resort and it's surroundings...I will try to get them up here later today for you to look at. I would have to say the carriage ride would be a good idea! DH and I have even talked about it!
As far as the DP goes...I think we are just gonna go ahead and stick with the Town Car this time, so we will be able to stop and pick up some up on the way to our resort.

Very, very beatiful! I'm so torn, I love the look of POR, but I'm also pretty intrigued with the Coronado. Choices, choices!
Thanks so much for those pictures! They are awesome.
I can totally relate to being frustrated with messing around with pictures and all that techno stuff sometimes. Seems like it always takes me forever to figure out how to do the simplest stuff on here when I post. I only just the other day had someone explain how to put links in my posts. My TR from last April was really never done the way I wanted it to be, until last week when I went back and put links in it to the different chapters. Not that anyone will really look at it now, but I really had fun using it for practice. :) Believe it or not, I don't know how to pull in a quote from someone's else's post so you can comment on it in your next post.
Anyway, happy planning!

Ok well we can trade a little bit of knowledge. To use someones post as a quote: Instead of hitting the reply button hit the button that says "quote" in the bottom right hand corner of that specific post. If you want to quote more than one person hit the button to the right of that quote button in all the different posts you want to quote from (once you click it, a little plus sign will pop up in it and I believe that it turns red, that means its been added to your list of quotes), then when your done adding posts hit the regular "quote" button in any of them :) Hope that helped.
Now...you can tell me how to do links :lmao:

That story of your mum ringing you about your DH planning to propose had me laughing (sorry, you must have been quite disapointed though having her ruin the surprise) but thats what my mum would be like my DBF would have to lock her in a room :lmao: untill he did pop the question as she's be so excited, im the same though I can't keep surprises for more than 5 minutes.
Lovely pictures you posted btw, you and your DH are such a cute couple :)

Food.
Ah I love food.
But even better than normal food, is Disney food. I believe I will dedicate this post to Disney food. :worship:
Just a little history. I, what felt like, starved myself the 6 months before our wedding. So naturally, when we headed off for our Disneymoon I was starving for real food. Disney food is great on its own, but when you are eating it after 6 months of salads and water its even greater.
DH and I are not your typical "romantic getaway" kind of couple. Neither one of us ever got to go to Disney as kids so we decided on our last trip that were going to treat ourselves to Disney...as kids. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and did A LOT of character dining. We understood that this knocked us out of a lot of the more "mature" restaurants but we didn't care. WE WANTED TO MEET MICKEY :mickeyjum and Minnie, and Donald, and Goofy, and...you get the picture. We have just started throwing around some dining ideas for this trip, and it's sort of looking like history repeating itself. We of course, don't know what days we are going to what parks. We also will be utilizing the park hopper option so we don't even know what time of day we will be in what parks. Therefore, we are just starting by picking a restaurant for each meal, in each of the parks. These are mainly the TS places we have talked about, of course if there is a time that will only permit CS, we will most likely eat at the closest one to us when we decide we are hungry. We will make the final decisions when we have our park schedule worked out and ADR time gets a little closer...
Here's what we've got so far. (You know my theory on pictures...so there are a few sprinkled in of course, with some stories that coincide.)
MAGIC KINGDOM
Breakfast - Crystal Palace - One of the few character dinings we didn't do last time...
Lunch - Cosmic Rays - We actually ate here two different times during our last trip. As dorky as it sounds we loved it :)
Dinner - Liberty Tree Tavern - We did the character dining here last time. We know that it will no longer be character dining but we really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant...it's still kind of up in the air though.
*Just a little disclaimer-please excuse our appearance in these pictures. It had been raining all day and we were soaked for the most part.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/LTT.jpg
Great story...so DH got up to go to the bathroom and Mr. Dale promptly replaced him at the table. DH still gripes about how the little rodent was hitting on his wife :lmao:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/LTT3.jpg
EPCOT
Breakfast - Akershus Royal Banquet - The princess dining was one of DHs favorites. LOL
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ABH2.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ABH.jpg
Lunch - Biergarten - Didn't eat here last time. DH is the one that mentioned it for this trip. I think he just wants an excuse to drink beer
Dinner - Garden Grill - Did the character dining here last time as well. For some reason the dining room wasn't rotating when we were there so we didn't really get the full effect, but this was one of the best character interactions that we had!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/GG1.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/GG2.jpg
Another great story involving Mr. Dale again. He reeked havoc on my poor DH. So like I said, the dining area wasn't turning like apparently it was supposed to. Well we were seated closer to the front and didn't even realize that there was that pretty area in the back with the moon backdrop and such. Well after being by our table a few times already, Dale walks by GRABS my arm and proceeds to DRAG me to the back of the dining area. He positioned DH and I on the rail in front of the moon scene, took my camera and took our picture...after a few failed attempts. Apparently his fur was getting in his eyes (;) ) First he had the camera facing himself, then he turned it around but it was upside down. Finally he managed to snap a pic of us (being verbally coached by the other diners witnessing the scene) but it sadly, turned out blurry. After he took the picture of DH and I, he handed my camera to one of the women sitting at a nearby table and directed her to take a picture of the 3 of us...and there it is. What an adventure...:rotfl:
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
Breakfast - What ever day we go to HS we will probably eat at our resort CS. Haven't really found much that jumps out to us.
Lunch - Brown Derby - Never eaten here, but is in my favorite episode of 'I Love Lucy'. I can't pass this up again.
Dinner - 50s Prime Time - Didn't eat here last time either...
***Just FYI. We ate at the Sci-Fi Dine In on our last trip(as you could see from the first picture posted)...very dissappointing. Atmosphere was pretty neat but the food and the service were definitely nothing to brag about.
ANIMAL KINGDOM
Breakfast - Tusker House - Did Donald's Safari breakfast last time...by far my favorite meal we had at Disney. Wonderful! :)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/TH1.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/TH2.jpg
I'm obviously laughing in this picture...Mickey was being quite a character. Shortly before this picture was taken, Mickey had requested a kiss on his nose from me. Well of course I obliged. He then grabbed a chair, sat next to me, and put his arm around me. I asked him what about Minnie, wouldn't he get in trouble...and he informed me in his cute little no talking character way, that he and Minnie were NOT married so there was nothing she could do. I think I blushed a little :lovestruc
Lunch - Flame Tree Barbeque - Texas girls love us some BBQ! Haven't been here before, really wanna try it!
Dinner - We are probably not going to be in AK long enough for dinner...if so we will probably eat at Rainforest Cafe even though it's not on the dining plan. Ate there last time and DH loved it!
Aside from in the parks, we did two different character dinings at 1900 PF last time. The breakfast and the dinner. We enjoyed both alot but if we do either again this time it will probably be the dinner one (Cinderella's Gala Fest I believe...) This is what we did the evening of our arrival on the last trip and we would kind of like to schedule it the same way again this time.

I like your food choices. Can't say we've eaten at a single one except the Akershus and Flame Tree, so all are very enticing to me :)
Honestly, the princesses were VERY rushed when we did lunch there in April, it was like a drive-by greeting. Disapointed, for sure. I hope you have better luck. The food was great, though. We're weird though. We liked the fishy kinds of salads on the salad bar, and LOVED the rice cream dessert.
Flame Tree was fab.! Everything was really good. Portions are huge, and we ended up giving an untouched order of onion rings away to the sweetest family of Brits. sitting next to us.
Looking forward to more!

Hey there! Welcome!!!! Glad to know your enjoying it so far! POR is beautiful but I do understand how it could be like being at home for you! And I am so jealous!
Well I'm sorry to hear that your Princess dining was less than magical! I can definitely see how it could be like that though. Compared to the other character dinings we did, there really was less interaction with the girls. Really just taking pictures...then they were off. And I watched as they approached the tables with kids and there wasn't really a difference. It did seem kind of rushed. Aside from that, you have me excited for Flame Tree! YAY!!

Never tried that angle! I may have to give it a shot! Plus I hear the food is great there so that will be a big plus for the DH. I may have a chance at a princess meal yet! :cloud9:

Loving your report so far! Your attic story had me in stitches! How funny you must have looked just your legs showing from below. Bet it was sore though!
If you get the chance I would recommend the California Grill at the Contemporary. We booked for about 8 and the food was amazing. Then near to the time of Wsihes we all went outside to the rooftop terrace and watched Wishes. The music is all piped in and it looks beautiful from up there.
The view from the restaurant is also fantastic. Especially if you ask for a MK view.

 HI! Glad to have you!
I keep hearing people rave about CG! I would really love to do that! This trip we are going to be attending Mickey's Christmas Party one evening and since it is only put on once a week, we are pretty much going to have to plan our evenings around that. AND...I don't know if anyone else has heard this yet, but I was poking around on another part of the board yesterday and apparently they are knocking Fantasmic down to twice a week now. This a must see for DH and I so we will have to find out when it's going to be going on as well. Once we get our schedule more figured out I'm going to look into maybe going to California Grill one night. Maybe I could not tell DH about the fireworks and it would be a surprise  Thanks for the tip!!!

GOODNESS! It seems like forever since I've posted an installment! Bare with me...I'm tryin to get back into the swing of school and things have been a little crazy...
ANYWHO...
So I have slowly but surly started getting things together for Disney. 10 months in advance, I know...but I'm just too excited! :cheer2: There were some things that we wished we would have had with us last time and I am going to MAKE SURE we DO have them this time.
So for our last trip, in the parks, we carried our Disney Honeymoon bag that we got FREE from Disney for registering with them. It is the prettiest bag, I love it  , it just is not practical for carrying around the parks. DH calls it "one sided". He said he doesn't want a "one sided" bag for our trip this time...meaning he wants something that you can put on both arms, such as a backpack. Here is a picture of me with the bag (only one I could find where you could see the bag...)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/mph.jpg
So anyway, I figured since I love this bag so much we can still use it for our carry on stuff on the plane. We don't usually take much with us on the plane so it will be just perfect. Well last night (after American Idol of course...YAY for Season 8!!!!!:yay: ) I dug it out of my "bag box" in the top of my closet (I collect purses and bags...DH would say I'm a typical woman  ) and was going to put it in my newly designed "Disney Box"...when I got it out I just glanced down into it and to my surprise I found little Mickey Head sprinkles in it...as I have said before, we were on the Deluxe Dining Plan on our last trip. Well, we didn't manage our snacks very well throughout the week and had like 8 left the day we were leaving. So I ran down to the CS at the resort and picked up a bunch of cookies and shoved them in my bag for the trip home. Apparently the sprinkles never got cleaned out...as I sat there reminiscing about my Disney cookies...yum...I began to realize something...
*****
So no one in my family, other than me, will eat Chinese food. I don't know why. They are totally missing out but oh well. More for me!!! :rotfl: One of my best girlfriends and I both love Chinese food so fairly often when DH is at the fire station her and I have Chinese nights at our local buffet. Well we were there one night last month and just as we were sitting down to eat the family at the table next to us was finishing up. Just out of chance my friend and I both glanced over to the next table and caught the mother of this family vigorously shoving cookies from the dessert buffet into her purse. And I'm not just talking 1 or 2. We sat there and watched for awhile as this woman put 23...TWENTY THREE...cookies in her purse. One at a time. I thought my friend and I were going to have to get up and go to the restroom we were trying so hard not to laugh. Once the family left we finally had let it out and it was a good 5 minutes before we got straightened out again. Ever since this incidence we always make references to the "cookie lady"...it's turned into a somewhat inside joke.
*****
So, as I sat there picking the orange and blue Mickey Head sprinkles out of my bag it dawned on me...I AM THE COOKIE LADY (ok so I didn't have 23 cookies...only about 6 but STILL). After my realization I immediately got my friend on the phone...
"Hey guess what I just found."
"What?"
"I found Mickey sprinkles in the bag we took to Disney World in June."
"Ok....???"
"They are sprinkles from cookies."
":lmao: :rotfl:  :rotfl2: "
So I'm guilty of pulling a "cookie lady" I guess. I feel bad for laughing at that lady now. But when I told DH about it he didn't see anything wrong with it. He assured me that stashing Disney World cookies is different than stashing Chinese buffet cookies. So I feel a little better now :)
So back to this Disney Box. I have started collecting all kinds of things to put in the box. Of course, the bag went in there. We are now looking for a Disney themed backpack of some kind. We have decided that if we can't find one soon we are just going to get a Jansport and get Disney patches to put on it. You might be surprised but I'm quite the little Suzy-Homemaker and am pretty good with a sewing machine. We picked up 2 little tray/cup things with suction cups on the back to stick to the mirror at the resort. I don't know how any of the other resorts are, but POR has NO counters in the bathroom area. Only pedistool sinks, so we got these to put our toothbrushes and such in. We took 2 little hand-held fans with us on our last trip. Despite the fact that it was blaring hot, we didn't really use them all that much. They are in the box as of now, but we are still debating whether they will make the final packing cut or not. Seeing how we didn't use them last time and it was summer, we probably won't use them in December.
Aside from the things in the box there are a few other things I want to share. As yall know, I got all kinds of Disney "stuff" for Christmas and I finally took pictures of it all for you to see!

Mickey long sleeved thermal shirt.:goodvibes
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/054.jpg
Just for kicks...these are the "matching" shirts DH and I got on our last trip. They are practically new...we wore them on the flight home and I don't think they've been touched since then...:sad2:
ALSO, I now have my new 2009 Passporter!!! I don't know if any of you have ever used one of these before but OMG. It is the Disney planners dream. I really don't know what else to say about it. It is just going to be attached to my hip for the next 10 months!!!!Just in case your curious... (http://www.passporter.com/aboutpassporter.htm)
I guess that's all I have for this installment. Coming up next...tentative park plans! Our DOs and DONTs!

LOL!! I have a bag collection too! New season, new bag. New trip, new bag. It's always a good time for a new bag! And the Disney box!  It's fun to collect stuff for the trip! Mine's getting filled up as well!;)

I used a suction cup soap holder for our toothbrushes for exactly the same reason. It worked like a charm!
Glad to see you back! :goodvibes Looking forward to more planning!

:thumbsup2 I am Soooo excited!! We will be in WDW same dates! :woohoo:
You are a hoot  I am really enjoying your PTR-:surfweb: It is so cold here I don't even want to step foot out the door! I have to wear layers upon layers just to bring the kids to the bus stop.
I am the consummate planner (unlike my DH). We will be staying at AKL savannah view. I already bought the [I]Unofficial Guide[I] and read thru it in 2 days  I was debating whether or not to get the [I]PassPorters[I]
Hubby & I went on a "late" honeymoon in '98 and then brought the kids for a post-deployment vaca in Feb. '07, so it's been awhile.
We will be celebrating my b'day on the 15th (I think in MK) :cake: :yay: . I can tell you that last trip we did ALOT of character dining. One of my hubby's favorites was b'fast at Crystal Palace and he requested it again this time around!
I am hoping we will be even more prepared for this trip than the last. I have been researching footwear, clothing, and bags. I want to pack as lightly and as smartly as possible. Thanks for the tip re: toothbrush holder :thumbsup2 I think I have decided on Keens or Tevas for all, capilene/polypro shirts (short and long-sleeve) and windbreakers, plus 3 pairs of convertible pants each. This will ensure ease of coordinating outfits and laundry.
I am really looking forward to following along with you during your planning phase!
Im in too, look like a fun year-long TR!! I'm gonna need more coffee though :surfweb:

I'm glad to hear that your DH enjoyed CP because we didn't do it last time and I was worried that my DH wouldn't be that into it. But he's such a good sport. He would go to the Playhouse Disney thing with me if I wanted him to. LOL. No but seriously, I'm glad to hear that it can be fun for big boys too
I haven't gotten so far as to thinking about clothes for the trip. We're prolly gonna go with a lot of long sleeved t-shirts, capris and jeans but I honestly haven't gotten that far yet.

FO SHO
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-We rode this 4 times in a row without getting off on our last trip during EMHs
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/btmr.jpg
Mad Tea Party-As much as this ride trys to make me sick DH loves turning it into a competion with the other cups...he keeps a continuous check on the cups around us to make sure we are spinning faster than anyone else on the stupid ride.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/tc1.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/tc2.jpg
Mickey's Philharmagic-YES YES YES. This was our first EVER attraction at Disney World. We do love it, but even if we didn't I'm pretty sure we would do it for memories sake. (See Avey for picture ;) )
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor-This is a serious must for us...especially after our experience last time. They picked on DH and I the entire show and kept putting us on the big screen
Snow White's Scary Adventure-We didn't do this last time and regretted it at the end of our trip.
Pirates of the Caribbean-This was closed for refurb on our last trip.We are excited to see it this time!
Space Mountain- I have to put this on our DO list even though it's going to be down the majority of the year. We don't know yet if it's going to be back up and running by the time our trip comes around but if it is...YAY for riding the new and improved SM!
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin-We did this 3 different times on our last trip. It quickly became one of DHs favorites if for no reason other than he WHOOPED MY BUTT every time. He has a steadier hand I guess...ugh.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/bls.jpg
Peter Pan's Flight-Didn't get to do this last time either. I can't wait.
The Haunted Mansion-Did this 3 times (EMHs were good to us on our last trip!!!) and noticed something new every time. One of our favorites.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/hm.jpg
It's A Small World-DH swears up and down he will NOT get on this ride again. The way I see it is it's not a proper trip to the MK if your not singing that stupid song all day. He will have to deal with it and humor me. :rotfl:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/isw.jpg
Entertainment...well...as far as parades go I don't exactly know (and can't exactly tell from the website as a matter of fact) what parades will be going on while we are there. As far as our last trip goes, we saw (had amazing seats for actually) the Dreams Come True AND Spectromagic parades. I feel safe saying that some of our best memories came from these parades and whatever is going on while we are there WE WILL WATCH :)

My pictures from Spectromagic didn't turn out to great...but this is my favorite :goodvibes
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/sm1.jpg
NOT SO MUCH
Cinderella's Carrousel-Beautiful, and I will probably spend a fair amount of time watching it and taking pictures, but we won't ride it.
Country Bear Jamboree-We watched this last time (EMHs...nothing better to do) it was very cute and we got a good laugh out of it but won't watch it again.
Magic Carpets of Aladdin-EMHs again...DH loved making it go up and down and scaring the tinkle out of me...if I have any say in it we won't get on this again. (I'm not a wuss...I'm a coaster junkie...but this is laid back enough that I am very aware of whats going on...aka I'm up in the air going in a circle, so it makes me a little nervous)
Dumbo-See Magic Carpets
Astro Orbiter-See Dumbo
The Hall of Presidents-Didn't do it last time, probably won't do it this time. Just not very interested I guess.
Mickey & Minnies Houses-Very very very cute! Walked them last time and took more pictures than should be allowed, just don't think we want to spend the time on them this time since we have new things on the agenda.
These are DHs 2 favorite things in Mickey's house. He's such a little country boy
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/mch.jpg

My 2 faves from Minnie's house...
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/mch3.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/mch4.jpg
Enchanted Tiki Room-Did this last time. Not big fans. But I will say, it was a nice break from the walking and heat.
Goofy's Barnstormer-You fit my DHs 6'5 body in one of these and I will pay to see it. I just don't think it's gonna happen
Tommorland Speedway-See Goofy's Barnstormer
WE'LL SEE
Jungle Cruise-DH thinks if we are going to DAK it is pointless. I on the other hand...kind of would like to see it at least once...we didn't do it last time.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-Ok so there is kind of a story behind this one. On our last trip I used a company called Gifts of a Lifetime to arrange a scavenger hunt for DH as a surprise. One of the things he "found" on the hunt was FPs for this ride and then when we got off the ride he had to look around in the store for the next surprise. This is a very cute ride and will do it again if time permits. Just not a favorite and want to make sure and have time for Peter Pan and Snow White.
Splash Mountain-When we went in June we didn't ride it because we didn't want to walk around the park wet. This time, since we are going in December, we probably won't ride it because we don't want to get wet and cold. On the other hand. If we can catch it maybe in EMHs where we can ride it and then head back to the resort we may. (With ponchos of course...)
UP NEXT...Hollywood Studios...

Jungle Cruise is so good. Put your silly head on and be prepared to laugh at extremely corny jokes. If you do you'll love it!!!!
I understand your fears of getting wet on Splash in winter but I would still go for it!!!!! Put a poncho on. Its a great ride and I could never miss it out! I love the song aswell - it sticks in your head almost as bad as Its A Small World!!!

WE'RE THERE
Muppet Vision 3-D- We did this last time and yea, it was kinda corny, but the Muppets are my favorite. I'm making DH sit through it again.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/mv.jpg
The Great Movie Ride-One of my favorites in DHS! So fun and relaxing!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/gmr.jpg
Toy Story Mania-Ok so, we didn't get to do this last time. They were out of fastpasses by like 11 in the morning and we weren't on the ball.
Tower of Terror-Need I even say??? YAY! :)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/tot.jpg
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster-See ToT
Star Tours-Did it last time, really enojyed it.
Lights, Motors, Action-Missed out on this last time. Got in line to wait then decided we were hungry. Went to eat instead. DH was really upset in the long run so this is a must for us this time.
Disney Animation-We didn't do this last time either but I really think we would enjoy drawing.:artist:
SKIP IT
Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground-We walked around here for a little bit last time. VERY cute, just have new things on the agenda this time.
American Film Showcase-Never really heard much about this. We will probably pass.
Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey-I'm so sorry if you enjoy this attraction, DH and I just think it is a waste of space. Did it last time...very disappointing.
Journey into Narnia-Neither one of us are really big fans of this movie. No thank you :)
POSSIBLY MAYBE
American Idol Experience-DH and I are addicted to the show, we just don't know if this attraction is going to be something we are interested in spending precious Disney time on. We will see...:scratchin
One Man's Dream-I think I would really enjoy this but DH isn't really interested. If time permits I will drag him through it.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid-We haven't seen this, I think I could live without seeing it, I KNOW DH doesn't care, so if we have time we will see it.
Now that I'm looking at our DO list, it seems so short! But DHS to us, is so much about just enjoying the surroundings and the sights. Last trip, we enjoyed just walking around and looking at everything and of course, taking pictures.

As far as the parade goes, we loved it last time. We had great seats in the shade and it was really fun. On the other hand, we were in the Monsters Inc. area, and out of the 3 main movies represented in the parade, that is our least fav. We may watch this one again if we are in the mood to that day, on the other hand, we may use it to our advantage and see if we can find some short lines somewhere while it's going on.

I understand that as of right now it is only being done twice a week. That is very disappointing but OMG. Have y'all seen some of the posts about it on here??? People are like freaking ANGRY. Like, talking crap about Disney for shortening the schedule. First off, it's only been like that for a little while, if Disney sees that it's causing a huge overcrowding problem, they aren't stupid. If they're able, they will add more performances to the schedule. And if any are going to be added at all, they will most likely be added by the time our trip comes around (keeping our fingers crossed). On the other hand, if they have financial reasons behind not doing it more than twice a week (HELLO? The country is practically in a depression!) then people should understand and not have their panties in such a wad. Yea. I'm not gonna lie, it's going to be very disappointing if we don't get to see it because it is one of our favorite things, but HELLLLOOOOOO we're going to be at DISNEY WORLD. I'm pretty sure it won't ruin our entire trip. Good golly.
Ok I'm off my soap box.
ANYWAY, I guess that is it for Hollywood Studios. I feel LEAST familiar with this park so if anyone has any tips, or suggestions, or comments, or ANYTHING, please let me know! I love input!
Up next...EPCOT

I just have to say SO FREAKIN ADORABLE!! Ok, ok, I'm from Kansas and my Husband grew up on a ranch in NM so we are probably a little biased or redneck:lmao: but still...LOVE IT!!
Also, I wanted to jump in and say that I SO agree with you about the Sounds Dangerous ride. I rarely say this but "seriously Disney, what were ya thinking?" Hubby did take the headphones off and get a good nap though:rotfl2:

I'm with you 100% on this. I get it that it's inconvenient, but you just plan around it like you do everything else. SO silly to be WHINING about our Disney vacation.... oh poor us!
And for the record.....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the matching boots! Your wedding party was beautiful!

The Stars and Motor Cars parade was going on when we were there in April 2007. What is the new parade??
The parade is called "Block Party Bash".
They have all the characters from various Disney/Pixar movies and all kinds of CMs dancing and singing and...oh my. It really is just like a big party. The kids get out in the street and dance with them...there's really alot of crowd participation.

(Just for a little comic relief and a break from all the plans...sorta)
Hello.
My name is Brittney.
I am a hair-productaholic.
(The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem right?)
My entire life I have had pretty healthy, usually longish, hair. This all changed when I got married.
What does getting married have to do with my hair might you ask? Well, I will show you.
This picture was taken at my bridal shower, 2 weeks to the day before our wedding. (Odd picture, I know...just look at the hair.)
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/showerandparty011.jpg
This was at our rehersal the night before the wedding.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/SANY0451.jpg
Do you know anyone whos hair can grow 16 inches in 13 days? Yea. I don't either.
I thought I was going to be smart and get hair extensions put in the week before the wedding. I was determined to have the full, thick, SUPER LONG locks I had always dreamed of having. So the Tuesday before the Saturday we tied the knot, I sat the 3, solid, painful hours it took to have them sewn in.
And I loved them...for awhile.
Here's the thing...(this might gross you out a little, it did me at first. Sorry). These extentions were not your typical synthetic hair. They were the more "realisitc" human hair extensions. GREAT! So no special care instructions right? It's human hair so I just need to take care of it like I do MY hair and it will be fine! WRONG. I spent the weeks before I did the deed researching how to take care of my extensions, and get the most time out of them. Special shampoo, special conditioner, can't contain this, good idea if it has this, special "detangler", special mousse, special hairspray...the list went on. Not a problem. Or at least, it shouldn't have been a problem.
Well, what actually happened was instead of just getting what I needed for the rigourous upkeep of my extensions, I began collecting all different types of hair products...maybe this would be better than this? But if I don't get this I have to get this. But this has this in it, I need to even that out with this. But what if the weather is doing this? What if I want to wear my hair this way?
It became an OBESSION.
Well after the wedding, and after we got home from the Disneymoon, I scheduled my appointment to have my extensions removed. They were becoming split on the ends, the tracks were pulling up around the front of my head, they were getting unusually heavy...I was ready to get rid of them.
After the stylist (notice it wasn't MY stylist, MY stylist doesn't do extensions, and for good reason I soon learned) got finished cutting out my extensions she squeezed an ENTIRE tube of extreme conditioner on my hair, twisted it up on the top of my head, put a shower cap on me, and sent me on my way. She told me not to wash the conditioner out of my hair until I started to go to bed that night...it was about noon when I left the salon. I went home and vegged the rest of the day. It felt so good to be able to lay down without lumps all across the back of my head. As bedtime drew closer I decided it would be a good idea to take a shower and get the conditioner out of my hair. I stepped in the shower and there are no words to explain what happened next.
:scared1:
It was falling out. MY HAIR was falling out. In handfulls. FISTfulls. Huge, greasy from the conditioner, knotted CLUMPS of my precious hair were just running down my shower drain. I, of course, started uncontrollably balling my eyes out. Poor DH came running. He flung the shower door open and as I stood there, vulnerable, in the middle of my nervous breakdown, with clumps of hair in my fingers, he just stared at me. He had the most priceless look on his face.
"I told you those extensions weren't a good idea."
"SHUT UP"
I of course rinsed a little longer, dried off, and called MY stylist on his cell. (Emergencies only...this was a SERIOUS emergency.) Well let me just tell you this about my stylist. He is one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. He isn't even just a stylist. He is a hair doctor. Everytime I go in to see him he seriously, sits and talks to me about my hair for a good 15 minutes before he will even touch it. He makes sure "we are still heading towards the same goal" and makes sure that after I left the LAST time everything was perfectly how I wanted it, so he can know if he needs to change anything. So anyway, after an emergency phone call to him he told me to be at his shop by 9 the next morning and we would see what we could do.
Let me tell you. I have never seen a grown man so horrified in his life. I wish we would have taken pictures.
I
Had
Bald
Spots.
All over the place. Everywhere. My hair, that used to be thick, and soft, and a good length, was now, thin (or non-existant), brittle, and SHORT. I'm talkin, almost to my chin short.
Brittney, the hair-productaholic, doesn't do short.
So as I left the salon that morning I made it my personal goal to restore my hair back to health, as quickly as possible. This made the obsession that had started with trying to take care of my evil extensions, grow at an exponentional rate because...I was no longer dealing with extensions. I was dealing with MY hair.
So here it is, as it stands today. I have my shampoo and conditioner for "thicker/fuller" hair. I have my shampoo and conditioner for deep moisturization. I have my protein shampoo and conditioner for anti-breakage. I have my "shimmering lights" shampoo and conditioner to bring out the blonde in my hair. And I never use the same stuff two nights in a row. I know it's weird. I know it's probably not even right. My DH has had to install one of those springy metal corner shelves in our shower just for my hair stuff. He calls it the "poo shrine". He's such a guy.
And that doesn't even begin to touch on all the products I have just for styling. My finishing polish, my humidity serum, my "thicker/fuller" gel, my leave in conditioner, my root pump, my 4 different kinds of hairspray that I used based on what the weather is doing that day and how I am wearing my hair (straight, curly, or scruched), my mousse, my scrunch spray...the list seriously goes on. The saddest part of all this is that most females I know have just as much stuff, or more than I do, crammed under the bathroom cabinet, they just don't use it all. I do. Religiously.
(I know yall are thinking, WHY IS THIS CRAZY GIRL POSTING ABOUT THIS ON HER WDW PTR??? Well I'm getting there...)
If you must know. My hair is now, actually, a little longer than it was BEFORE I got my extensions put in. It is healthier, thicker, fuller, and a better color ;) than is was before this whole ordeal ever even started. I am proud, but I still have a long way to go until I reach my goal...which just so happens to be MY hair looking like the extensions did. (Ironic. Such a love hate relationship.)
ANYWAY, DH and I were talking last night and he was, of course, picking on me because I brought home some new shampoo from the store last night. At some point in the course of conversation he busts out with,
"Your only going to be able to take one bottle of shampoo and one bottle of conditioner to Disney with us. You know that right?"
Ugh. Just rain on my freakin parade sweetheart. Thank you.
So last night as I stepped in the shower, I started trying to decide what shampoo/conditioner combo I would use. I then had a brilliant idea. I decided that I would start using the same shampoo all week, then I could just change once a week instead of every night. This would give me a chance to see how they all really worked on my hair and which one would be the lucky one to be chosen to go to Disney with me. So as I reached for the deep moisture shampoo, I realized...I couldn't do it. I could not bring myself to use the same I had used the night before. It's like a stinkin addiction. I must have issues. I know I do. So I finished up my shower, using my anti-breakage shampoo. As I got out I decided that I was going to take all the bottles out of the shower except ONE shampoo and the ONE matching conditioner, and those would be the only 2 bottles in the shower for at least a week (if not longer) and then I could change.
So it has begun. I am breaking an addiction. I am becoming a more level-headed person. And most importantly...a shampoo will soon be deemed Disney worthy.
I know you all think I'm crazy. I'm pretty sure your right. It's ok though...I'm working towards a better tomorrow for my hair and I. :woohoo:

OMG you crack me up! :lmao: We all have our obsessions...trust me. Yours is shampoo and mine has become planning and researching everything to do with our WDW trip. I have to say, I laughed out loud at your dh's "poo shrine" nickname. Hang in there girlie! Be strong and stick with your plan. Besides, think of all the energy you can devote to WDW planning when you're not obsessing over hair products. :)

Okay seriously, you just made my morning. You are an awesome story-teller, I felt like I was going through everything with you! I've never had extensions before but now I don't know if I will ever try them. :upsidedow
I'm so sorry about what happened to your real hair after the whole ordeal. You never did say, how did the extensions do at WDW? What about if you got wet on Splash Mountain or something?
And about the addiction/routine thing? I know how you feel. I have OCD! :lmao: bad. So I understand your pain of letting go of your usual routine!

Well...my hair did ok at Disney. It was weird because the humidity didn't really effect the extensions but it REALLY effected my real hair. So it made it to where I couldn't wear my hair down or I looked silly. The top half would be frizzy as all get out and the bottom just straight as a board. It was really kind of a pain to deal with having to put it up every morning though because I had ALOT of hair. A stinkin lot. And it was hard to put my hair up to where you couldn't see the tracks (if you look closely in that picture of me sitting at the table with Dale you can see them) As far as getting them wet, we actually didn't ride any wet rides and didn't go to any pools, just by chance, so I'm not sure how they would have handled it. The one good thing I can say is, I was only supposed to wash them about once every 5 days, so it was nice not having to actually do anything with my hair except worry with putting it up, because washing those things and then conditioning, drying, and straightening was practically an act of congress. I just know that I am looking forward to our next trip and bein able to wear my hair normal. :thumbsup2 Not to mention not have to deal with my semi-permanent fake eyelashes...that's a whole 'nother post in itself though. (Oh the things a wedding will make you do...) :rotfl2:

Notice anything different?
Look in my signature...
Yupo. We have had to reschedule...
So, we're going to celebrate my graduation in December right? WELL, the past 1 million years in the history of my university, December graduation has been the second Saturday in December. Always. Therefore, we had planned our trip accordingly...
I went to register for graduation on Friday. I was filling out all my paper work, looking over my final degree plan (a total of TWO classes left :cool1: ) and she hands me all the information I will need to know about graduation...when I have to order my cap and gown by, when I will get my diploma, prices on getting it matted and framed...and the actual date of graduation...DECEMBER 19...the THIRD Saturday in December, and right in the middle of our Disney trip. HOW DARE THEY! So I had my phone out before I even left the office. As I sat down on the steps of the building to call DH I start crying. Uncontrollably. When he finally answered, he was terrified. He thought something WRONG, like someone was dead or something. Once I finally composed myself enough to explain what was going on...
He started laughing. :guilty:
Then I got to thinking about it. I just signed up for graduation. I have worked my little butt off for the past 4 years for THIS DAY, and I'm CRYING over Disney. So typical...so me.
DH assured me then that we would work everything out when we got home that evening and we WOULD go to Disney before 2010 got here. No questions asked.
SO HERE IT IS. We are now going August 16-23. We will no longer be there for the Holidays. Blaring heat, no pretty lights, no MVMCP, no snow on Main Street ...BUT in the middle of all the turmoil, a little pixie dust has managed to show itself. Our trip is now gonna be cheaper, less crowded and...
IT'S GONNA GET HERE QUICKER!!!!!! :woohoo:
This means I gotta put a little fire under my Disney planning butt and get on the ball! I'm working on our "EPCOT" plans and they will be up sometime soon...maybe today, maybe tomorrow. Either way, it will be soon.
STAY TUNED. :goodvibes

MUSTS
World Showcase- We spent A LOT of time in World Showcase on our last trip. I think that we are going to try to divide Epcot up into 2 sessions and make World Showcase a trip of its own. We are going to try to watch every movie we can, get a snack in every country (maybe skip lunch that day...), and really look at all the details instead of rushing through.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e5.jpg
Maelstrom- I don't know how in the world we missed this on our last trip. We never even saw it I don't think. Much less knew what it was. We gotta do it this time! I wanna know what it is!
Mission:Space- I was not, and am not, a big fan of this ride. It makes me feel like my chest is going to cave in. Either way, I have agreed that if I'm going to drag DH on IASW I will do this with him again because he loves it. Ugh.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e8.jpg
Soarin'- Ok I'm not gonna lie. I was so excited for this on our last trip and I was so disappointed with MYSELF once we got on it. I just couldn't relax and enjoy it knowing that I was so far up in the air...it is an amazing ride though. We are gonna do it again, and I am determined to chill out!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e11.jpg
The Seas with Nemo & Friends- We loved this! It's too cute!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e9.jpg
Test Track-WOO HOO!! We can't wait for this one!!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e20.jpg
Spaceship Earth- Probably one of our favorite attractions at Epcot only because of the silly little video at the end. We laughed so hard about it last time we were crying by the time we got off the ride!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e19.jpg
Turtle Talk with Crush- So cute! Love going and just listening to what the kids are going to come up with! They are hilarious!
Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure- As corny as it sounds, we really wanna try this! We just got our 2009 planning DVD last week and when we saw this we were impressed!
Innoventions- We didn't step foot into East or West on our last trip so we are planning to spend some time perusing around it this trip. Just out of curiosity if nothing else.
MUST NOTS
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience- We did this last time. It was definitely cute but not something we are going to make it a point to watch again.
Journey Into Imagination with Figment- Ok I have a funny feeling I'm gonna get a lot of flack for this attraction being in this list. We did it last time and we agreed that it's cute, but there is just so much else to do in Epcot that we missed last time that we have decided to sit this one out.
Ellen's Energy Adventure- We didn't do this last time and I don't think we are going to take the time to do it this trip either. Just doesn't seem very interesting to us.
MAYBES
Gran Fiesta Tour- I had never even heard of this until I was poking around on the Epcot website yesterday and saw it on there. Has anyone ever done this? What's it like? We think we might do it if time permits.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/e4.jpg
I guess that's it for Epcot. Well other than Illuminations, but I guess I don't even have to say anything about that. pixiedust: If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! We don't want to miss out on anything! :)
Last but not least, Animal Kingdom is up next!

Awesome pictures...Epcot is just beautiful!
[SIZE="5"][COLOR="SeaGreen"]MUSTS
This is exactly how we feel about World Showcase. It definitely deserves a lot of attention! Nice plan! :thumbsup2
Maelstrom- I don't know how in the world we missed this on our last trip. We never even saw it I don't think. Much less knew what it was. We gotta do it this time! I wanna know what it is!
This was closed on our last trip so we are gonna try it for the first time too!
Journey Into Imagination with Figment- Ok I have a funny feeling I'm gonna get a lot of flack for this attraction being in this list. We did it last time and we agreed that it's cute, but there is just so much else to do in Epcot that we missed last time that we have decided to sit this one out.
LOL! If you look at my PTR, I put this ride on the same, "Don't Bother" list! :rotfl2: I'm right there with ya!

OMG! I would've had a heart attack right then and there! :faint:
I thought I was going to. I'm sure I got the most horrified look on my face when the lady handed me all the graduation info. She asked if everything was ok and then I asked, "Is this date here correct? The 19th?" as if a State University is going to have a typo on a document that is handed out to hundreds of people every week.
Hi again Brittney! Well sooner is always better, right?? :thumbsup2 I totally would have cried too....I hate being caught off guard! Good for DH for knowing just what to say! LOL! Congrats on the earlier trip...can't wait to hear your plans!:cool1:
THANK YOU! The more I think about it the more excited I'm getting. It's just now settling in that IT'S FOUR MONTHS SOONER! :cheer2:
sooner is always better. especially if you can convince your DH that you still need a graduation trip!!!:lmao:
Well we have decided that since in August I will officially be finished with all my classes, and only have student teaching left to do, we will still be able to appropriately celebrate my graduation...I tried the whole, "now we have to go again shortly after the first of next year for my real graduation trip" thing and it didn't quite work. I'm still tryin though :bitelip:
LOL! If you look at my PTR, I put this ride on the same, "Don't Bother" list! :rotfl2: I'm right there with ya!

I would've asked too!
I just figured I'd rather be safe than sorry...:guilty: At least I tried.
OK so NOWWWWW...I got my application for Student Teaching next semester and down in really fine small print at the bottom it says "There will be a MANDATORY orientation in August"
God help me.
If we have to reschedule again I think I'm going to go insane. Please pray for me...I'm going to be calling to try to find out when exactly that MANDATORY meeting is going to be later this afternoon.

Well I will start by saying...THANK GOODNESS!
I called the school and they told me that the MANDATORY meeting was not all that mandatory, and if for some reason I missed it they would work with me. (I took the girls name and direct extension so I could say, "SHE SAID IT!" if anyone gave me any flack about it.::yes:: ) SO...continue the planning.
ANIMAL KINGDOM
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak1.jpg
Ok so I will start by saying that Animal Kingdom is certainly amazing, but it is probably our least favorite park. We spent the least amount of time there on our last trip...but that makes me wonder...which came first? The chicken or the egg? Did we spend the least amount of time there because we are not crazy about the park, or are we not crazy about the park because we didn't spend enough time there and see everything???
Due to my lack of knowledge about this park, I'm going to structure this installment a little different. Pretty much everything that we did in AK last time we are wanting to do again, so I'm just going to list the things we did and the things that we didn't, and out of the things that we didn't do I NEED FEEDBACK!Tell me what we can't miss this time!!!!!! :)
DONE IT
It's Tough To Be a Bug-Did it, loved it. Although DH still laughs at my reaction when we got "stung". LOL
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak9.jpg
Expedition Everest- One of our favorite coasters in Disney. I was a wuss though and closed my eyes so I never saw the Yetti! I'm determined to see him this time!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak3.jpg
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak4.jpg
Kilimanjaro Safari- So much fun! We had the greatest driver last time! He was hilarious!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak7.jpg
Dinosaur- This ride was almost too bumpy DH and mines taste but it was still fun...we loved it because it's just so different from anything else in The World!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak10.jpg
**Just as a little extra** We managed to see DiVine last time and we want to see her again!
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/SFAcowgirl87/ak6.jpg
TO TRY...OR NOT TO TRY. That is the question???
Cretaceous Trail
Habitat Habit
Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
Discovery Island Trails
Finding Nemo The Musical
Festival of the Lion King
Flights of Wonder
Kali River Rapids...here we are with these wet rides again. I think DH would really like to do this but I just don't know if I can bring myself to voluntarily get sopping wet and have to walk around the park the rest of the day. Although, now that we are going in August the temperature is no longer an issue.
Well I guess that's it for our tentative park plans. Next up...our countdown calendar that has turned in to a monster...and shoe shopping :)

I would say skip the train ride to Rafiki's. We did not do it last trip and heard from a friend who went shortly after us that she wished they hadn't wasted their time.
I recommend the Jungle Trek and the Forest Trail. You can do them at your leisure so you can spend as little or as much time as you like. We enjoyed the tigers and the gorillas.
I've heard good things about Nemo and we are looking forward to doing it on this trip. The lines seem endless, but we're going to make it a priority.
We really enjoyed Festival of the Lion King and it's one of the only shows we saw last trip that we will definitely see again.
I'm lukewarm on the bird show..I hate birds, so I'd prefer to opt out!!
As far as Kali goes....my experience was different than most I have read. I stayed mostly dry except for a few small splashes. I was disappointed! :sad1: I say dress in lightweight clothes that will dry and go for it! LOL! You only live once! :thumbsup2
Have fun with the rest of your planning! I'll be waiting to hear more! :)

Just came across your Pre-trippie and couldn't stop reading it. It is now 1:15 a.m. and I have my son's bday party to get ready for at noon tomorrow:scared: Anyway, Love the way you write, it's like reading a book... a good one. Could comment on a lot but just don't have the time...have to say the attic thing had me hystarically laughing though...sounds like something that would happen to me, you poor thing. We are going in Dec. this year for our first time with the decorations so I'm excited about that. Bummer that you had to change your trip but lucky you that you don't have as long to wait. Can't wait for more.
I'm glad you didn't have to re-schedule again. It just a pain to have re-work everything and find a time to go. :thumbsup2
As for what do or not to do?
We love the walking trails and seeing the animals.
FOTLK: I thought it was great. Or I would have if I'd been awake. I fell asleep, not that it was boring, I was just exhausted, it was dark and cool. :faint:
DW and I both thought Flights of Wonder was really cool. It's nothing over the top, it's just a neat show with lots of different birds. it's cute and fun, and sitting down (I'm a big fan of sitting down)
Rafki's planet watch is kinda neat. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to do it again. Unless that's where the petting zoo is. I don't remember (bad DISer) But again, that's a personal thing, DW and I are both big animal lovers, and playing w/ and petting animals is just cool.
Kali River Rapids: We loved it. It's a cool ride, and a lot of fun. Wet or not.
I actually recomend some of the "kiddy" rides if the lines are short. Some of the little coasters are a lot of fun. Not very thrillicious, but fun anyhow.

I really liked Nemo and the Lion King show. It is amazing how great the artists were in the Lion King.
And I will have to say I went into Nemo thinking I would not like it. I thought with seeing the actual people holding the puppets that it would detract from the show. But it was really neat in that the actors looked the part and how they worked that into the show. I felt there were some parts that could have been better, but all in all, I was wonderfully suprised and amazed at how good it turned out. So I say go.

Hey. I linked over off of a friends report to see what was going on (since we'll be at WDW the same time in August) We're going for free dining...that starts on the 23rd, but we're going 5 days early so our trips will cross.
Then I start reading and see that YOU fell through the floor from your attic about the same time my MIL did this. In her case it was hilarious :lmao: because she's a meanie and deserved it. I'm sorry it happened to you though. :flower3:
Now this is weird too...I was just at Disney...Dec 13th-21st! My package was Dec 14th-21st...we just added on an extra day. Our Disney paths seem to cross a lot huh?

Oh I totally agree...we are huge fans of sitting down as well. If we do decide to do alll the little trails then we will most likely do all the shows...just to even out the walking and sitting. :rotfl2: As far as the kiddie rides are concerned, I forgot to mention, we did ride the Primeval Whirl on our last trip. It was fun but nothing we would actually wait in line for again...there is a similar ride here at the State Fair of Texas every year and we usually ride it then :)
I really liked Nemo and the Lion King show. It is amazing how great the artists were in the Lion King.

I'm glad to hear this about Nemo. I have actually always thought the same thing. I figured it would just be weird to see the people holding the puppets but I'm glad to know they've gotten the actors into it so it all flows together...the more I hear about it, the more I'm thinkin Nemo is going to be a must see for us! :cool1:

Sorry you had to reschedule your trip.. I know how that feels.. it seems almost everytime we book a trip we have to change it.. this time.. I waited to book it.. it changed like 3 times and then I finally booked it. I also purchased my flight- so its staying that way for good! hehe but on a good note..
You get to go earlier!!! YAY! :rotfl:
Also, my dh and I love world showcase! We always spend so much time here.. we are actually giving epcot 2 days this trip. We couldn't help it.. who knows if it will change once we are their. BUT there is so much to do and we missed a lot last time.
We are also doing breakfast before the parks open. Except.. we are doing it at MK at Crystal Palace.. we also heard its a great time to take pics.
MY DH and I also DIDNOT like Mission Space.. it was to intense for me to enjoy it. We opted out to not do it again.. and then I heard there is a more moderate version now. So DH said he would try it but honestly, I don't want to. The view and stuff was cool but the whole gravity thing is not for me. :sad2:
We have never rode Soarin.. I know SHOCKER! Actually in 2005- I think is when it first came out.. I was still extremely new to disney.. and I didn't even notice or hear about it until I was at home a few weeks later.. and was like WTHeck! But when we went we already had everything set in stone.. so it wouldn't of mattered.. we focused on the things we already chose.
We are looking forward to the Nemo & friends, and Test track as well!
Turtle talk with Crush- we have never done! This is on my forsure no matter what list!

You and your DH are too cute together. Congrats on the wedding and the upcoming anniversary! :goodvibes Your report's cracking me up! I'm soooooo sorry about your hair, that would have freaked me out :sad1: But your attic story had me laughing!! :lmao: I'm glad you're OK!
We always go to Disney in August and love it. Yes it's hot but Florida always means heat for us, and August isn't crowded at all, especially compared to December. Plus there's no tour groups around to have to deal with  It would have been awesome to meet up for a little while this summer but we leave on the 15th! We'll be driving out as you fly in.
I love all your "Must-Do" lists. I agree about the World Showcase, it's my absolute favorite part of Disney! :lovestruc We always spend 4-days at Epcot - 2 days in Future World and 2 days in the World Showcase. I love that park! I also felt the same way about Animal Kingdom after our first time there... it was nice but nothing special. After our trip in the summer of 2007 though, I love it! Really take your time walking around and taking it all in... it's a great place!

 My parents would always call flip-flops "thongs" too! All through the 90's we'd wear our thongs to the pool ;) :lmao: :lmao: Too funny!

Wasn't till i read (and re-read your post that I finally understood that knickers was another of these words that doesn't translate over the atlantic to the same meaning!!!! Along with pants (another name for knickers here - we call pants trousers!!) and fanny pack. You guys need to stop calling it that! It has me in stitches every time!!!

That stuff is amazing! Where are you from? If you don't know anyone who sells it, I bet I could find someone to hook ya up with if you'd like! :thumbsup2

Hi Brittney,
After being gone for far too long, I am back to your PTR! Hooray!
You see, I had added you to my favorites, but on DH's laptop. He doesn't bring that home too often, so I had lost you temporarily. But, now you are here on my home 'puter, and can find you more often. So glad to be part of all your planning :cool1:
Catch you soon,

OK so I have already decided...the name of my Trip Report after we get back is going to be
"The family that wears flip flops for underwear does Disney."
Thank you ScotsMinnie! You have just brought an entire new meaning to my moms name for flip-flops (she's a child of the 70s...)
Thong Sandals.
YESSSSSS!!!!! :cool1:
Haha. That's going to be a great title.

:wave2: Hi Brittney! So...I've been lurking on your PTR for a while now, and I love the pics from your wedding. The boots, everything, so great. I showed the pic to my cousin Misty because she had wanted to wear cowboy boots in her wedding, and her mother (and sisters) vetoed it. My response to that was "y'all just must not know Misty very well, then." Anyway, I digress. I seem to have not been paying enough attention, because I just now caught onto the fact that you are from TX! Yay! I love TX. I want to ask, simply because it is your username - Are you a lumberjack? My younger sis has her heart set on SFA!
I am lovin' your PTR and glad to meet someone close to my age that is holdin' down the "Disney Fort" in TX! I'm heading back there as soon as I can!

AHHHHHHHH....IT'S BEEN SO LONGGGGGG!!!!
There has been so much going on! My grandmother has been having to go to a whole bunch of different doctors appointments (everything is ok though...we know that now!) and because I have the most sporadic schedule of anyone in my family I have been playing chauffeur. I don't mind though :goodvibes
THEN I decided to go and get a new e-mail address, and something went terribly wrong and it deactivated my Dis account. But I finally got all the kinks worked out and I'm back now! :woohoo:
ANYWHO...BACK TO THE PLANNING! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
Alright...so...
I'm a "typical" woman.
I love shoes.
DH says he thinks I have a shoe problem. Although he does not condone it, he has just recently realized that it isn't as bad as it COULD be...for one reason.
Here is something else to know about me. When it comes to a lot of things, especially accessories (shoes fall in this category) I am about QUANTITY...not QUALITY.
Example: My "Ed Hardy" purse. Ed Hardy? Spend $200 dollars on a PURSE? Yea right. More like $35...or $70 if you count the TWO knockoffs I have bought since Christmas. And people ask, "OMG?! Is that an Ed Hardy? I love it!"
UGH.
I can't bring myself to lie. I wish I could. It would be nice for people to think that I had that kind of money to throw around on purses. But I don't. Nor do I have that kind of money to support my shoe habit.
So I also have a complex about wearing shorts and tennis shoes. Some girls can wear their cute little denim shorts and their cute little tennis shoes and it looks adorable. I on the other hand...in my mind, can't. It might have something to do with the fact that I am 5'8 and the 8" counts for my torso and the 5' counts for my legs. They are insanely long. It sucks. DH (who if you'll remember is over 6 feet tall) can put my jeans on (weird I know) and they are actually not really too short if he is barefoot. (NOOOO...he doesn't just randomly wear my jeans. I was trying to make my point about my legs one night and made him see for himself). So because of my tennis shoe/shorts issue, before our last trip to The World I was determined to find some good walking shoes, comparable to tennis shoes, that would look good with shorts.
So I tried to find pictures to put on here but I gave up, so y'all can use your imaginations. You know those cute little Sketchers that look kinda like tennis shoes but have the velcro strap that crosses over the top? The ones that are usually about $50? Yea. I found some at Target in May of last year that looked identical but were $25. :woohoo: So I bought them in plenty of time to try them out with shorts, get them broken in, and ready to go to Disney.
Let me tell you.
Now, almost a year later, THEY STILL HURT MY FEET WHEN I WEAR THEM. They look completely fine with shorts, but I can only wear them with jeans because I have to wear socks with them or the back of my foot will be bleeding by the end of the day. UGH. Needless to say, they didn't make the trip to Disney. I ended up wearing my all time favorite flip-flops (my Reefs) while we were Disneymooning. My feet didn't ever really hurt, and they stayed cool, but by the end of our trip...lets just say it turned into something THREE pedicures couldn't fix. It lead to me having to buy one of those PedEggs and lotion meant specifically for ailing feet.
I really don't need to do flip-flops again this trip. And I can NOT do knock-offs. My "quantity vs quality" is going to have to be thrown out the window in order for my feet to be happy this trip. Honestly, I don't know where to turn.
I'm thinking I may just have to suck it up and wear my tennis shoes. Or just take my PedEgg and lotion with me and pamper my feet every night when we get back to the room. I just can not bring myself to spend $50 on shoes that I'm not sure will even be comfortable. Maybe I should just suck it up. I dunno...:confused3
:mickeyjum And I know that I promised that I would talk about the countdown "project" that has turned into a monster. So I'm talking about it. It has turned into even more of a monster since I made that first comment about it...so much so that I couldn't even get stupid pictures of it without it falling apart.:scared1: Did you know that spray paint eats away at styrofoam? Well it does. And did you know that hot glue melts it? DUH! I thought that I would be able to just use a little bit...WRONG. I have officially made the biggest mess EVER, and spent way more money than I had planned to just fixing it...it's really turning out cute though (I think:rolleyes: ), cute for being a monster anyway. I will get pictures of it up as soon as I have healed it's wounds and have it put BACK together. Oh and after I make another trip to Home Depot for more Mickey heads...I lost a few in this whole process.:rotfl:
I promise promise promise I will never desert the Dis for this long again...it feels good to be back! :yay:

I'm first! So glad to see you back. I definately know how life can take you away from the Dis unfortunately. Glad to hear your grandma is ok. I love me some knock-offs and saving money to. My husband's always saying "you get what you pay for" but it's just too hard and usually ridiculous to get something that looks the same for twice as much. I do suggest finding a good, cute, comfy pair of shoes for disney though. I have the same problem with shoes and shorts, not good on me. My problem with it is that my ankles are too skinny. It seems no matter how big I get( which is growing every day, lol) my ankles stay scrawny and it looks almost like I have pegs, lol. Shoes only make this look worseby purring a stump at the end. Anyway, good luck and let me know if you find a good solution. Can't wait for more.

I also love shoes.. but mostly only summer shoes- like flip flops and sandals, and crocs, and those sketchers type velcrow breathing shoes.. I love them. I'm surprised that they hurt your feet because I bought some and could ever run in them and they ddin't hurt my feet at all. I use to go walking 2 miles a day and never once bothered me. and I'm one that needs a lot of support on my ankles and archs.
Also, I was browsing all your pictures.. I don't think I did before. or I forgot.. idk school is making me crazy.. and I noticed that I have the same "disney honeymoon" disney world bag.. and I feel very special because you can't buy it.. and only certain people have it! :upsidedow

We missed you, Brittney!!
And I'm with you on tennis shoes with shorts. It just doesn't feel right! I am not a tall girl, by any means, so that's not my thing, but I have these muscular dancer legs, and for some reason it just doesn't work with tennis shoes.
However last time I was at Disney I wore flipflops (Old Navy flipflops) all day the first day and my feet were aching so badly the next morning....blistered and everything.
I have several pairs of tennies, but the best pair for wearing with shorts is this really old pair of rebocks that I have had since I was a freshman in college. They aren't bulky like a lot of running shoes are, so they work for me. :)
Glad you are back, girl!!
