Is there a difference is cabin size between a cat 8 & cat 9?

Not a single bit! All cat 5 - 10s are the same size stateroom, with the 10s set up with the beds in the rear of the stateroom and a double steamer trunk. The 8 & 9s are just on different decks.

Exactly the same cabins, just different locations. I was able to upgrade at the port from a 12 to an 8 for $359.00 when I sailed on 12/6. We were in room 5002 which is at the very front of the ship. Didn't notice any extra movement and loved being on deck 5 because it is close to everything. The only thing I would suggest if I were to book a cat 8 again, would be to book one on deck 6 instead because of the noise during shows and rehearsals in the Walt Disney Theater.

Location, location, location.
9s are on deck 2, 8s on 5 and 6.

Cat 9's are also on Deck 1. We got upgraded from an 11 to a 9. Our room was 1030. The location was great! Quiet. Close to the elevator and the door to board for the ports.

Good to know... I'd rather be higher up than closer to the water - that's just me though... ;)

Another difference is that some cat 9's have 2 small portholes instead of the big round window.
